This is for my wifey @sapphickorro 😘 I’ll be expecting a ring in return
NO ONE IS PERMITTED TO STEAL, COPY, OR REBLOG MY WORK AS THEIR OWN!!
“We need a medic as soon as we land, we’re now twenty minutes out!” Natasha yelled into the coms, her free hand pressing down on your open wound, her weight causing the blood that was pouring out of you rapidly to slow down. Your eyes were fluttering shut as your body grew tired and weak, but you knew you had to try.
“C’mon, Y/N, stay with me.” You were trying, but it took only two minutes before your body gave up, your eyelids closing over as your heartbeat slowed. It wasn’t gone, but it wasn’t at a safe rate either. Nat was freaking out, not only because of the fear of losing you but dealing with your girlfriend would be even worse than the grief. She’d kill her, and not many were able to have such a privilege when it came to the Black Widow.
The quinjet landed, at last, gusts of wind nearly knocking down the bystanders. The doctors and nurses stood within a good distance with the hospital bed ready to bring you to safety. Maria was there too, a cold and hard expression sporting her face. She was more so worried than mad, but she would never show anyone that vulnerability, only you had that prerogative.
When the entrance opened, they were met with you being held in Nat’s arms, your limp body only frightening the others. It was supposed to be an easy mission, with no great danger that the two of you would need to keep watch of. Of course, both of you kept your guard up in case that happened to be wrong, and it was.
Luckily and unluckily for Nat, you were the only one who had gotten injured in the pair, but that only made Maria’s hatred and indignation for the redhead rise. She was already preparing the speeches to tell the agent, but none would reduce the hidden sadness she held deep in her chest.
“You better have an explanation for this, Romanoff.” She muttered, following the women and few men who rushed you inside. She gulped fearfully, hiding her face from anyone who had visible eyesight. She didn’t show emotions, especially not fear. And especially not if it’s caused by someone with less power and authority than her. But the woman scared her and many others to death, even more so when you were the topic. She’d kill anyone for even looking at you the wrong way. To her, you were just a sweet little thing that she needed to protect at all costs.
“Are they going to be okay?” Maria’s jaw was clenched tightly as she spoke, her arms crossed over her chest as her hands balled into fists.
“Uh, y-yes, Ms. Hill, they’ll be alright. They’re going to need to receive stitches and will be supplied with multitudes of pain medication, but we were able to stop the bleeding and, thankfully, no arteries were hit.” The doctor stuttered out, it wasn’t every day that you were met with an angry woman who could and has killed many. She nodded and sent her appreciation to the brunette, turning to face Nat who held her hands on her hips.
“I am so sorry-”
“If something like this ever happens again I will not hesitate to kill you, got me?” She cut her off, obtaining a nod from the redhead. She wasn’t one to allow threats to come her way, but she felt as though she deserved this one.
Maria took a seat in the waiting room chair, running her hands through her hair as tears threatened to fall. She didn’t cry, she promised herself she never would. But the thought of losing you, the only person she ever truly loved and cared for, everything was just too much. She broke down in the empty hallway, not caring to see if others were nearby; she didn’t care. She didn’t care about anything at that moment besides you. Were you going to make it? Sure you would, that’s what the doctors said. But what if you didn’t? What if your last time together was spent as a goodbye and your last breathing moment was spent saving others? What if she’d forget your comforting voice after you were gone? What if she lost all the small moments that brought her more joy than imaginable?
“Ms. Hill? You can now visit them if you’d like, they’re expected to wake in only a few hours.” She hadn’t even realized how long she had been out here, the clock ticking every second being the only reminder of time. She stood quickly, rushing past the open door and stopping in her tracks when she saw you. You were hooked up to multiple IVs and wore a nightgown that they had supplied you with. There was no passion on your face like usual, it was instead blank as you slept. She had never seen you so pale, it felt wrong. You were still beautiful in her eyes, you’d always be, but this wasn’t you.
You were in pain, and she disrelished in the knowledge that she wasn’t there to help you, she could only watch as you suffered. But she stayed, she continued to sit right next to you, your limp hand in her own, waiting for you to wake. She didn’t fall asleep despite her tiredness; she was exhausted but refused to miss the moment your eyes opened again.
“Mar?” She heard your frail voice, her head shooting up along with her body.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay. I’m here, I’m right here.” She wanted to bring you in for a hug and tell you how stupid you were, the IVs prevented that, however.
“I’m sorry, I just wanted to protect Natasha.” She smiled at your confession, chuckling to herself as she wiped the tears from her cheeks.
“It’s alright, you just need to be a bit more careful next time, okay?” You tried to nod, only to feel a shooting pain in your head. You needed rest, so with a lingering kiss to your forehead, she let you fall back into a slumber as she joined, trying to find comfort in the hard chair.
It only took a few weeks before you were back to brand new, you still had your scar and Maria had to tend to it multiple times a day but other than that you were yourself again. You had already gotten strict discipline for your actions, she wasn’t pleased. You weren’t the only one though, Nat got one, Fury got one, and even the medics received their own version when they had slipped up one day by accidentally dropping your food during delivery.
“Does that hurt?” Maria asked when you hissed in pain, the alcohol pad doing no such healing but instead worsening your agony. You were forced to bite down on a cloth the first time after you screamed loud enough for someone to think you were being murdered.
“What do you think?” She glared up at you, and that instantly threw away your smirk. She sighed heavily while placing the bandaid on your skin along with the cooling gel. Surprisingly for a stab wound, it wasn’t that large of a gash.
“I already told you, Mar, I’m sorry. But how is it fair that you get to put your life on the line daily and the one time I do you’re mad at me?” You asked, growing frustrated with how she’s been treating you. It wasn’t fair, you worried about her constantly but you would never throw anger towards her for such acts, you knew what her job requirements were.
“I’m not mad at you, Y/N.” She noted, packing away the supplies and putting them in the cabinets below the sink. Her hands gripped the counter hard, her fingertips turning red.
“Really? Because it seems like it-” You were cut off by a groan in pain, clutching onto your waist as you nearly toppled over. Maria rushed to your side, holding you upright and being careful to not touch your wound.
“It’s okay, baby, I’ve got you.” You tried ushering out apologies, but the pain was too great.
“Don’t apologize, I’m not mad. Why don’t you sit for a while, okay?” She walked you to the edge of the bed now that you exited the bathroom, letting you sit and flinching at your cries of torment.
“Sit with me, please.” She nodded and took the spot next to you, holding your free hand in her own and kissing the back of it gently. She brushed the hair out of your face and wrapped the same arm around your back after, being careful where to rest her palm.
“Is this okay?” You shook your head yes and rested your head on her shoulder, letting out deepened breaths that came to a regular.
“I think it went away.” You mumbled, feeling the scorching pain dissolve slowly. It felt like an electric shock on your skin, but it eased away once you were able to rest your body once more. Maria smiled and rubbed your back soothingly, placing another peck on your head where she was able to catch the scent of your shampoo.
“I’m not mad at you, you know.” You moved your head so you’d be able to look at her, only to find her eyes not able to line up with yours.
“I’m mad at myself if anything. I should’ve been there, I should’ve done more, I don’t know. I just- I hate seeing you like this, it kills me to know you’re in pain and there’s nothing I can do to rid you of that.” She sniffled, lowering her gaze to her hand that fidgeted with her bouncing thigh. You listened, choosing not to interrupt her with your own thoughts and instead taking all of hers in.
“I don’t want to lose you, I can’t. When I saw you like that, and when I heard Nat calling for medics, I couldn’t think, I- I don’t know what happened to me.” She started, clasping her lips together in a fight to not shed a tear. “It’s like I can’t function without you, you’re the only person I ever truly loved, and I’m just scared I’ll lose you.” You cupped her cheek in your hand, pulling her face closer so she was directed towards you. Her lips turned upwards in a smile when seeing your own mimicking her, and you were able to taste the salty tears on them when you pulled her in for a kiss. You played with the baby hairs on the back of her neck as her tongue licked over your lips, asking for entry which you accepted.
“You’re so beautiful.” She said when pulling away, only for it to last a short time when she leaned back in. Her hand found placement on your thigh where she rubbed up and down in a soothing manner. It wasn’t long before you felt yourself pulling apart to remove one another's clothes. Your shirt had already been discarded when she had patched you up, and all Maria had to do was scrap your pants and you were left half naked in front of her, looking effortlessly perfect like always.
“I wanna see you.” You muttered, tugging on her loose shirt. She grinned and lifted it over her head, her abs flexing as she did so. You couldn’t stop your wandering hand that pressed onto the muscle, feeling her rock-hard skin that caused you to whimper.
“Like what you see?” She asked in a teasing tone, already knowing the answer. You bit your lip as you nodded, your hand quickly traveling down to the buttons on her pants. She chuckled at your antics, replacing your hand with her own and pulling them off of her body.
“Can I?” She had crawled back onto the bed, her fingertips playing with the band of your bra. They first pulled down the straps adorning your shoulders, then found their way to your clasp.
“Please.” You gave her your best look of faux innocence as she slowly removed your top, fiddling with your exposed breasts once they made their way to the surface.
“Lay down, baby, let me do all of the work.” She effortlessly removed your panties that held a wet spot in the middle, quickly attaching her lips to your clit. You sighed in satisfaction, running your fingers through her hair and giving a teasing pull. She moaned into you, causing your hips to buck up into her face.
“Yes, just like that- ah!” Her tongue toyed with your clit before finding your hole, dipping in and out and enjoying the reaction you blessed her with. She didn’t stop until you were on the edge, that release you’d been aching for nearly plunging until she pulled away and wiped her lips as if she was disgusted with your juices; you knew that was nothing but false.
“No, no, no-” You whined, being cut off by Maria’s shushing, a finger pressing against your lips as she did so.
“Shh, you don’t make the decisions here, see what happened last time you tried to be a big girl and think for yourself?” Her eyes trailed to your wound, the skin rising up and down as it copied your irregular breathing patterns. You followed them and gulped down your snarky remark, already fearing what else the woman might do.
“Let Daddy do the thinking for you tonight, angel.” She placed her thumb on your lips as you wrapped them around it, your tastebuds being hit with your sweet nectar. You smiled around her, knowing how much it drove her crazy.
“You gonna let me do that?” You nodded with a hum, tickling her skin and making her slowly remove herself from your mouth.
“Yeah? And you won’t make silly little choices that get you hurt?” You nodded once more.
“Only big girls can think for themselves, but you’re not one, are you?” This time a shake of your head was given.
“Mhm, that’s right. You’re already listening so well, such a good little baby.” Her hand came to your chest, pushing you down gently and giving you a small kiss before parting. She continued her pecks down your body, creating a trail before stopping in front of your needy cunt. Your clit was pulsating, your hips thrusting into nothing, and your slick coating your thighs.
“Such a needy thing, is this all for me?” She gave you a lustful gaze as her tongue explored you. You threw your head back as you tried clamping your legs shut, only for her grip to be too strong to do so.
“Yes, Daddy, all for you.” She hummed thoughtfully, sending a wave of pleasure through you. You reached down to try and pull her closer, but it hurt your waist too much to do so.
“Be careful, angel.” She was so engrossed with your flavor, she was an addict to your drug. Her hand traveled down to join her mouth, a single finger slipping inside of you with ease.
“Oh, God-” You gripped the sheets tightly when she drew herself out, only to thrust back in moments later. She was going too slow, and you didn’t even notice the way you’d chase into her for more. You tried making a rhythm, but it was sloppy.
“Fuck, you’re so fucking cute. I’m the luckiest woman alive.” She was hungry, practically starving, and you were the only person who could fuel her lust.
“Faster, please.” You struggled to get out, hoping she’d show some sort of mercy and give in. She did. A groan left her as you felt a second digit prodding at your hole, joining the other that was dripping from your pent-up stress.
“No matter how many times I fuck this precious pussy you’re still so damn tight.” She was grunting loudly, but the sounds of your juices deafened them. The walls weren’t soundproof, and for a moment you worried someone might be able to listen in unwillingly, but your thoughts escaped your head as soon as they entered and were replaced with her. Maria.
“You think you can take one more, sweetheart?” You shook your head, your body withering and thrashing about. She pouted and slowed her movements which resulted in a whine from deep in your chest.
“C’mon, I’ve been taking such good care of you, can’t you do this one thing for Daddy? It’ll make her so, so happy.” It was so tempting, and you were on the edge waiting for her permission to let go, there was no way out.
“O-okay.” There was clear hesitation in your voice, she could sense it from a mile away.
“Oh no, baby, I need to hear that you want it. Tell Daddy how badly you need her.”
“Please, Daddy, ple-please fuck me. I’m so wet for you.”
“Mm, I can tell.” She humored, laughing at your struggles against her. It took what felt like hours for her to finally let you off, a third finger slipping into your hole.
“I bet you feel so good around my cock, so warm and- tight!” She hushed out, forcing herself into a denied stage of release. She was soaked, almost more than you. She could feel her orgasm pending, but she was holding off for your sake.
“Aww, are you close?” She cooed when noticing the way you clung onto anything, biting your lip and eyes rolling back. She knew your body better than you did, she already knew you were near your breaking point. She wasn’t far behind either.
“Say you’re mine.”
“I’m yours, all yours.” She nodded along with each word spoken, smiling as your orgasm came rippling through you. All of your senses came to a halt as you blabbered out unspoken words, only feeling yourself shake more as she continued to fuck you through your high. She wasn’t easing you down, it was as if she was prepping you for more, which you soon learned was true.
“Don’t cry, I know you can take it.” It only took a few minutes of the same procedure for you to be brought back into your foregoing state. She had been watching carefully, picking up on your every move that she had memorized over the years.
And even when you thought it was enough, she didn’t stop. You wondered how she could last so long without pains spreading throughout her body, she was animalistic.
“No- it’s too…much.” You struggled to get out. It was a lie, you both could sense that. There was never too much with her, you’d continue for the rest of the night if it meant you had her by your side.
“Just one more, I want you to cum with me.” You didn’t notice the free hand that had been creating movements on her lower region. She was toying with her clit and thrusting into the feeling, she had been neglecting her own pleasure for the sake of yours.
“I can’t!”
“Yes you can, I know you can. You’ve been doing so well, don’t stop now.” You didn’t have time to prepare for the release that washed over you like a tsunami, your juices oozing out of you and dripping onto her digits.
“Oh, fuck! You look so good, baby, so perfect.” You both let out shared pornographic moans, her gaze staying on you as you refused to look anywhere but in her direction. You grabbed her cheek, holding her closely as you kissed with passion and love. She was drawing out your orgasm, her fingers slowing until they came to a halt.
“Fuck…that has to be a record or something.” She chuckled, wrapping her arms around your waist and pressing gentle pecks across your face, the action tickling your skin.
“I love your laugh so much, angel.” You smiled at the compliment, your cheeks being painted red and causing your girlfriend to share said reaction. It was peaceful, a comfortable silence falling upon you both that didn’t need to be filled.
“You know I love you, right?” Came her hushed whisper. You opened your eyes once again to see tears bristling her eyes and a small pout forming across her lips.
“I do, and the best part is I love you just as much.” Your arms went to loosely hang on her shoulders and met to play with her dark brown hair. You scratched her scalp in a soothing manner, your heart breaking and face softening as she couldn’t form her words for a moment.
“I’m sorry I freaked out on you, I was just scared.” You led her head onto the crook of your neck as she inhaled your scent, her tense muscles relaxing.
“I’m sorry too, I should’ve been more careful.” Even with your naked bodies that were glistened with sweat due to moments prior, there was nothing sexual about it, there was just love.
“Just- promise me you’ll be safe?” She held her pinky finger out, quirking her lips up in a sweet gesture. You crossed your own with hers, your voice booming while holding a low tone.
“I promise you that I’ll do all that I can to protect myself, but only if you do so as well.”
“Deal.”

I am so damn angry right now. Maria Hill is an amazing character, but they never gave her any development. She was always the source, means to an end and now we're supposed to accept that she was killed by a skrull who took on Fury's face and just shot her.
Of course now Fury will (most likely) find his footing because of her death. And she was just left there. We know nothing about her from the MCU. I realized today that the person that for me is Maria Hill was created by dozens of amazing people and their fanfictions on AO3. She appeared in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., several movies and 'all' she was was provider of information.
I am very possilbly incorrect, but given the anger I am inclined to not care right now. I wanted to see her get a plot, even smaller one, but something other than the tool would be something.
I really hope that somehow she'll come back, but not everyone can pull several Coulsons. Let's hope I'll be able to delete this in few weeks time and this was tool used on us and not in the show itself.
Here's to hoping.
Maria Hill deserved better. Heck, she deserves better.

thoughts on secret invasion (spoilers!)
just finished watching the first episode. I still think Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is the best MCU show and was a lot clearer in its premise. Also, each of the seasons clearly connected in spite of having different plots, unlike the current MCU run. I get that Marvel is setting up for a lot of things, but I can't help but think that, like other reviewers of AOS, the AOS family is actually a family compared to the Avengers. Or maybe I cannot compare the two because AOS is "not canon anymore" (it is canon to me).
I wish the first episode gave more answers as to why Fury was in space and why Talos was in Spiderman FFH, but I guess that will come up later. Also, Maria Hill deserves better. I like the dynamic between Fury, Hill, and Talos. Unfortunately, my favorite part ended up being the soundtrack.

‘Secret Invasion’ Shocker: [SPOILER] Deserved Better—But Are They Really Gone?
[WARNING: The following contains MAJOR spoilers for Marvel’s Secret Invasion, episode 1, “Resurrection.”] It’s perhaps poetic—and shocking—that an episode titled “Resurrection” would end with a major character death. At the end of Secret Invasion’s premiere, Agent Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), a mainstay in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2012’s The Avengers, gets caught up in the panicked…

Other Thoughts While Watching Age of Ultron for the billionth time (In no particular order, sorry)
Tony: "Good talk" -> Some random guy through his pain: "No it wasn't"
Natasha going "beep beep" while motorcycling down stairs
The whole Natasha/Bruce thing that I personally dislike because it was weirdly forced and ugh why
"Language!"
Nick Fury is a theatre kid
Maria Hill is a freaking badass and I love her
"Smaller agents"
I aspire to be as sassy as Tony Stark
I love Wanda and Pietro
Also Ulysses Klaus is such an interesting character, what with his sass and idk how to describe him but then also like him being so quickly put in his place by Ultron but also just being like "shoot them all" (idk)
What are Wanda's necklaces?
"Cap can you keep them occupied" "What do you think I've been doing" (uhmmm playing overly competitive ultimate frisbee with a robot that's just what it looks like to me)
Oh, look, the police! Because that always helps
"Negative, I'm still in the truck" "why the he-"
The twins are rebelling woooo love that for them
Crashing train and Natasha abduction- the Avengers are doing great!
"Do you have eyes on Nat" kills me every time
The random airline ads in the bus/train "Our airline is all about you" idk why im commenting on this but I doubt many will read this so woo
I like how Wanda's powers have progressed from her struggling to stop a train to being able to rain down cars with a flick of her hand (she's a badass and I love her and I'm sad about Multiverse of Madness and how that all went down for her. she deserved better)
"He will do anything to make things right"
I wonder how much guilt Wanda would carry for the rest of her life about helping Ultron and stuff and messing with the people who became her friends minds
Wanda looks truly distressed
Serious Steve Face ^TM
Aw concern on Tony's face
Bruce's face whenever Tony has a new idea is priceless (it's just "oh. oh. OHHHH. OH HELL NO")
JARVIS LIVES WOOO LOVE HIM
"Homicidal glitches"
"I am caught in a time loop" Banner is DONE (but not really)
Bruce shaking his head while agreeing because why not
oop there's nat
Okay, Ultron, calm down with the whole blame shifting thing
"How about nunce"
"I could choke the live out of you and never change a shade" Dammmnn bruce go off
I love when Pietro doesn't expect things. Except for like the sad stuff but his expression of surprise and then confusion at being surprised is great
Aww look all the superheroes are fighting isn't that adorable
This list is getting so long for no reason I'm so sorry
Thor is being dramatic. He is also a theatre kid. They are all theatre kids and Maria Hill is their director
Oh look Vision but he doesn't have clothes and that's weird to see lol I'm so used to his cape (Edna would be so disappointed)
OO cape (copying Thor lol)
"A whirlpool that sucks in all hope of life and at its centre is that" Ah yes, very encouraging Thor
Okay so I will stop now but maybe do a part two at some point bc this was fun
Tumblr media
How did I never notice this moment in Age of Ultron?
It's so small and it made me laugh out loud when I rewatched it because there's this little moment of the woman posing asking the dude to take the picture in the background and I just found it funny and such an interesting detail lol
(I'm disappointed in myself for not noticing it bc I've watched this movie way too many times)

I know how it feels to run around / Chasing dreams and falling down / Holding tears inside so no one knows
But when I look upon your face / See the future, feel your grace / Holding you, and heaven feels so close.
I used to think I'd never change / You woke me up and took my pain
And suddenly I felt like I was home / You pierced the blackened sky above
Your light poured in like morning sun / With every ray of daylight there is hope

I'd like Marvel to know that I'd totally watch a show about all their undervalued secondary characters, who deserve their time to shine, teaming up together.
So yeah, give me a Wong, Ava, Harley, Darcy, Maria Hill, Maria Rambeau, Drax, Ned, Luis, Nakia, Bruce, Sif, Korg and Sharon team and then you'll have my money.

In The Shadow of Your Heart
Dark! Billy Russo x Goddess! Reader
Part 2!
Read part 1 here.
Warnings: Eventual Dub-con, canon-typical violence, mentions of injuries and blood, intentional use of sex pollen, smut (18+), obsessive thoughts and behaviour.
Tumblr media
Billy would never say no to you. He decided a long time ago, before he’d ever asked you on a date, maybe even the first time he met you, he decided that he would never say no to his goddess. Even if it got him killed. The courage he had to muster to ask you on a date in the first place was astronomical. Even before his face was fucked up, he didn’t think he deserved you, and he definitely didn’t deserve you now. So, saying yes to you came as easy as breathing to Billy Russo.
Which was how he found himself, perched on the roof of an abandoned building near the old Hydra base in question, freezing his balls off in the autumn chill. You were somewhere closer to the base, searching for a way in. The team consisted of a small group of SHIELD agents, led by Maria Hill herself. Frank was somewhere around, waiting as a backup in case things went south. There was no one better to have watching his back.
“Move in five seconds.” He says, looking through the scope of his gun.
“Yes, Lieutenant.” You respond.
He gulps, fighting the start of a raging erection.
He keeps his focus, knowing that getting distracted means you could get hurt.
“Now.” He says simply.
He watches you move, dressed in an all-black tactical stealth suit. His heart pounds at the memory of seeing you in it for the first time, the way it hugged your body, he'd run the tip of his tongue over the roof of his mouth, fighting the ache for a taste of you. He momentarily imagines tugging down the front zipper of your suit, pushing the fabric aside and melding his mouth to your undoubtedly pretty nipple. He clenches his jaw, his mouth feeling painfully empty.
You meld seamlessly into the shadows, and if he wasn’t completely caught up in you, he might have missed you.
“Stop.” He orders, and he watches you freeze on the spot, holding your breath as two armed men pass by.
“You’re clear.” He follows up when he’s sure you won’t encounter anyone else. You approach the main building and manages to use the overgrown foliage to hide, letting it grow around you to cover you. When you have to get onto the roof, Billy watches you use your powers to help you climb a tree, and then the tree grows a few more feet, to the height of the building so that you can sneak onto the second floor.
“Building’s empty.” He hears you say in confusion, “Whatever we saw… It’s not here…. But something feels strange.”
“Explain.” Comes Maria’s voice through the comms.
“It’s like I can feel the energy, through the walls, maybe a residual thing? Or maybe-“ you hum in thought. “Yes! There’s a stairway leading lower.”
Billy opens his mouth to tell you to be careful out of reflex, but he hesitates because you’re always careful. He also knew you didn’t like people telling you what to do when it wasn’t necessary.
The following silence is more unnerving for Billy than almost everything else.
He knows better than to say anything that may distract you, you may not be able to respond, but as he lies still on the hard rooftop, he really considers asking you not to do these anymore. He knows what you’ll say, something brave about being given gifts that can help people. He doesn’t care about other people, their lives mean nothing to him. Your life though… he wouldn’t be able to live in a world where you ceased to exist. Billy’s shoulders sink. You’d never listen to him, you didn’t feel the same way he felt. He just wished- he wished you needed him as much as he needed you.
He stiffens as he sees a group of heavily armed people making their way into the building.
“Y/N, you have incoming, five people. Armed.”
He waits for any sound of acknowledgement.
He calls your name again. Radio silence.
Maybe you just couldn’t talk, maybe you were hiding.
“Tap the mic twice if you hear me.”
Nothing.
“Stay where you are, Russo.” Hill orders in his ear.
He’s already moving, leaving his heavy sniper rifle behind, but taking the slightly smaller assault rifle from his arsenal. He’s not sure how Maria knows that he’s moving, considering that she’s miles away with no eyes on him.
“I have to make sure she’s okay.” He replies when Maria says his name again.
“Think this through, Lieutenant, she’s capable.”
“We don’t know what she walked into down there. She could have already been captured. It makes sense that one of us go. She must have realized the coms don’t work by now. The fact that she didn’t immediately come back up should tell you everything about how much trouble she’s in. I’m going.” Billy says with finality.
Maria doesn’t protest further as Billy slides down the ladder bolted to the side of the building. He moves quietly, darting in and out of alleyways. He’s made a mental note of where the patrols were when he left his vantage point. He knows the speed they were moving at and the paths they moved in. He times each movement he makes precisely, avoiding any detection.
He pauses at the entrance to the building when he hears the crunching of gravel nearby. He ducks through the first-floor window. He hears movement, and peeks into a hallway to see the five people he scoped earlier standing in a group, facing the wall. One guy reaches up and tugs at the light fixture nearest to him, and the wall at the end of the hallway slides open to reveal a staircase. He watches the group descend, and the wall closes behind them.
Billy explains what he’s seen to Maria in a quiet breath, before moving forward and copying the motions.
The floor beneath is full of grey hallways. He stalks slowly behind the shuffling group of people in front of him, his rifle poised for action at all times.
He breaks away from following the group ahead to branch off and look for you. This place was a labyrinth and he was worried you were lost. He didn’t want to call out for you, who knows how many people were down here.
He peeks into each room he finds, searching for any sign of you.
Heavy footsteps ahead of him make him duck into the first room he can. It’s modeled like an old laboratory, with beakers and other various jars lined up on a wall of shelves on one side of the room.
There’s a wooden sign nailed to the wall, with ‘Project Aphrodite’ carved in.
Billy is momentarily distracted. What kind of experiments would Hydra be running that would include the goddess of love?
His curiosity gets the better of him as he moves deeper into the room. There’s a glass case at the far end, covered under a dusty white tarp. Cautiously, he pushes the tarp up to look at what’s under the glass. It’s a dead plant, some type of shrub, long dead and greying by the looks of it. His eyes glance at the warning label written on the case.
Powerful aphrodisiac. Do not inhale pollen.
 WARNING
Side effects may include: temporary blindness, hypersexuality, hysteria, confusion, tachycardia, fits of rage associated with orgasm denial.
The first thing he thinks of, is you. He feels like he’s found the answers to his prayers in the form of a small plant. He doesn’t think before he’s ripping the label off the glass case and kicking it somewhere unseen. This way he can say he didn’t know what it was if anyone asks about it. Somewhere in the back of his head, a voice whispers how wrong this is, how vile it is to use something like this to gain your attentions. But he can’t help it. He wants it, he wants you and your green eyes looking at him, touching him, like he’s the only person in the world worth anything. Because that’s what you are to him.
If inhaled or ingested: Seek medical attention, however sexual stimulation is the only known cure.
Billy holds his breath, before opening the case. He picks a few dried seeds from the root of the dead plant and he pockets them.
He may not like himself, but he would still do anything to have you. Billy decides to ponder the morality of the plant later, when he has you safe.
When he closes the glass lid, and replaces the cloth, he searches the room for reports on the experiment. He wants to make sure that whatever it is, that it won’t hurt you. He doubts it could though, with your goddess status.
Before he can even look around, an alarm goes off.
His military training kicks in, he moves to the door, peeking out and listening for any type of movement. He hears the fast, shuffled sounds of running, echoing through the halls, a group of people heading in the direction of the alarm.
He waits a moment till the sound of footsteps fade before stepping out.
Something enters his peripherals at the end of the hallway. He turns suddenly, raising his gun, but stops when he sees it’s you, clutching something to your chest.
“They’re right behind me.” You whisper to him, pushing him back into the room and using your powers to warp the lock so that the door is jammed shut. You both hold your breath as you hear footsteps approach.
“Get behind me.” He murmurs, raising his rifle.
You want to protest, to remind the beautiful man that you could probably withstand a bullet better than him. You don’t have time to argue though, when the handle moves on the door. He tugs you behind his body, and you stay willingly, focusing on keeping the door jammed. To the person on the other side, the door is unlocked, but the door has warped with age and is unable to open. It looks more like natural causes rather than what it actually is... you. The guard tries a couple more times, before giving up and following the direction of the crowd.
Your head is pressed into his back for a moment as you breathe a sigh of relief.
He turns to you. You both speak at the same time.
“Comms don’t work-“
“I can’t get through to-“
You both cut off with a laugh. Heat fills your chest.
“Glad to see you though, Bill. Thanks for coming to get me.” You say, studying him, his dark eyes, filled with focus for the mission, you know you look grimier, having crawled through a bit of dirt and coated with a sheen of sweat from running.
“Anytime.” He says simply, “Come on, we should get out of here.”
You nod and head to the door but stop in your tracks when something calls out to you in the back of your mind.
“You alright?” You hear Billy ask, but your brain is cloudy, barely registering his words.
You look at him, before turning to the back of the room. There’s something emitting a mild glow from a covered case among the lab equipment. The light flickers from below the white cloth, luring you closer.
Billy calls your name twice as you put the object you’ve stolen down on one of the many white countertops. You move, until you’re standing before the large compartment, tugging at the white cloth until it falls to the ground.
You’re amazed to see a beautiful shrub, singing sweetly to you, beckoning you closer. The leaves are dewy and vibrant, you can see the movement of tiny specks of light within the veins and stems of the plant. A bud forming at the top.
“Hello beautiful.” You murmur excitedly, unable to recognize the species of plant. Probably something that’s foreign or long extinct, brought back to life by a combination of your powers, and your excitement at finding Billy.
You reach to open the case.
“It could be poisonous.” Billy interjects, making you pause to look back at him with a little smile.
“I can’t be poisoned Billy, I’m immune.” You pull the case open, keeping your eyes on the gorgeous ex-marine as he stays where he is, “No plant can hurt me.” You say finally, turning back with a wonderous look in your eye.
In the space of your conversation, the flower has bloomed, it glitters and glows like the finest crystal. Your breath is taken by the way it manages to look like a mixture of organic plant material and the finest gems. It looks like some cross between a rose and a peony, although you can see some elements of a lily coming into play.
“It’s stunning Billy, come take a look.”
Billy stays where he is, waiting for the other foot to drop. The pollen probably won’t work on you anyway, and his stomach might have sunk a little with that thought, his one moment of hope, crushed.
You lean forward, wondering what the pretty thing smells like, surely something nectar-sweet and probably delicious.
Without warning, the flower releases a large puff of pollen directly into your face. You let out a cry of distress as the powder goes into your eyes. You rub at it frantically, as you feel another plume hit you in the face. You stumble back, pushing the doors to the glass case closed to prevent any more from getting on you.
Your hip glances off the side of a counter as you stumble away, unable to open your eyes. You can feel the substance soak into your skin as Billy says your name in question. You feel his thumbs as he makes an attempt to wipe the pollen from your face, tears slip from your eyes as the burning starts. You can barely open your eyes for a second without whimpering in pain. Your eyes burn and burn, until your head hurts. You can’t focus on much, but you understand that Billy’s managed to shoot the lock on the door and he presses the little item you stole into your chest before wrapping one arm around you and pulling you out of the room.
Billy keeps you tucked into his side as he guides you out of the room and down several hallways. He keeps an excellent memory of where he is, keeping his gun poised, and you slightly behind him at all times.
“Billy,” you whimper in frustration, the heels of your palms pressed against your eyes.
“What is it, sweetheart? Something wrong?” He asks, not looking at you for too long as he searches for the switch to open the doors.
“ ‘m really dizzy, Bill.” You say in a small voice.
“Don’t worry, we’re almost out, I’ve got you.” He says, tugging on the switch.
As the door cracks, voices fill the coms. He stays quiet for a minute trying to assess what’s happening.
“-buy them a little more time to get out, keep the fire focused there, so that they can get clear.” Comes Maria’s voice.
“We’re getting out now.” Billy says. He hears Hill’s sigh of relief.
“Get to the jet.” She says calmly.
It’s a struggle to have you by his side, unable to see. It has you both at a disadvantage, but thankfully he makes it out of the building and down several roadways before they’re seen.
It really was too much to ask, to make it out unharmed, Billy knew better than to hope for things to be that easy. He switches direction as the group of guards spot him, moving in a random pattern to make it harder to line up a shot.
He has you pinned to his side as the shooting begins. He tries to encourage you to run, but the most he gets out of you is a slow stumble.
He knows he has to find another way out, since asking you to climb in your state is out of the question. He manages to guide you through a small gap in the fence but as he preps to crawl through, he hears a loud shot and then a searing pain in his arm.
He only flinches, turning back to remove the threat before reclaiming you in his hold.
By the time you make it to the jet, he’s mostly pulling you along with his good arm, giving you words of encouragement.
He briefs Maria quickly on the events that unfolded, omitting his involvement in anything nefarious. You go still in his grip and he finally turns to look at you. You’ve moved your hands from in front of your eyes momentarily, blinking as you re-adjust to the dim lights. He notices your eyes are red-rimmed, face wet with tears.
You look up at him with a sniffle. You say his name before you go limp in his arms.

Tumblr media
Part 1.
Avengers x fem!reader
Pt. 2
Genre: Minor angst, more fluff.
Warning: Language! (cursing here & there)
Words: 1746
Synopsis: This takes place in Avengers: Age of Ultron. When The Avengers were at the rock bottom, Nick Fury and advised by Maria Hill, to initiate the B.A.B.Y Protocol.
Main MASTERLIST
The Avengers gather in the lab after one of an ugly half made robot command a few of the Legionaries to attack them. Currently they are finding out about what or who attacked them. Some of them cleaning their wounds and Thor going out to track the Legionaries. Bruce the only one who starts first. “All of our work is gone. Ultron cleared out every research that we do. He uses internet as an escape route.” Natasha turns and lean her body to a table to say what she’s found. “He’s been in everything. Fails, surveillances. Probably know about us more than we know about each other.”
Holding his right wounded arm, Rhody said “He’s in the internet, he’s in your files. What if he decides to access to something a little more exciting?” By that, Maria has thought something. “Nuclear code.” Natasha looking at them “Nukes? He said he wanted us dead.” Steve interrupt her “He didn’t say dead. He said extinct.” “He said he killed somebody.” Clint said but Maria ask back. “But no one else in the building.” Their conversations cut by Tony. “Yes there was.” He displays JARVIS damaged simulator form and all went silent except Bruce, he checks on JARVIS.
Thor come in angry and straight to choke Tony. Being choke, Tony try talk to Thor “Come one. Use your words buddy.” Thor lift him up a few inch above the floor. “I have more than enough words with you Stark.” Steve walks closer, breaking them. “Thor. The Legionaries?” Thor update them about the Legionaries have the scepter and they have to retrieve it again. For the first time after the attack, Dr. Chow speaks. “You build this program. Why he’s trying to kill us?” Tony just laugh at that question and Bruce disagree. “Tony, this might not be the time to-“ Tony cut his sentences. “Really?! Bruce. We didn’t create a murder bot. Remember New York?” Everyone move their head down facing the floor remembering that event and Tony continue. “A hostile army of aliens charging through a hole in space. We’re standing 300 feet below it. We’re The Avengers. We can bust arms dealer all day but that up there, that’s, that’s the endgame. How do you guys planning on beating that?” Steve looking at him “Together.” “We’ll lose.” Tony say and Steve still with his answer “And we’ll do that together too.” He looks at everyone and gives the order. “Thor’s right. Ultron trying to draw us out. We start tonight. Do whatever you can to find him. The world is a big place, make it smaller.” Maria stand from her chair. “I’ll escort Dr. Chow to airport. I’ll see you guys in the afternoon.” They all nods and both of them walks out of the lab.
 Next morning.
A young girl wearing her café’s uniform walking with a headphone on her head. While walking, she notices a guy snatches a bag from a lady. That lady screaming asking for help while her baby crying to see her mother in terror from across the street. You bring down your headphone and chase that guy. Thanks for your training, you almost keep up that guy until he stuck in an ally, nowhere to go.
“You wanna give me the bag or I’ll take it from you?” You said. Looks like he’s stuck.
“Fast legs.” He said.
“I had trained before.”
“I’m not a bad guy.”
“Well, good guys don’t snatch a bag from people especially in front of their baby! You gave me the wrong impression though. Now, give me the bag and go.”
“I’d like to see you take it.” “You asked for it dude.” You move forward and fight him hand to hand combat. Actually, you are a bit surprise by his technique. He’s not so bad but you have been train by a professional back in the academy.
You’ve been caught one day and some guy wear uniform took you somewhere. You thought it was a juvenile school because you are just 15 that time. Turns out it was S.H.I.E.L.D. They gave you test by test and found out that you good at combat and a little bit good at common sense. After you graduated, work job by job. Gang to gang. Mob to mob. You can’t do that kind of job anymore. You want to be good and yes, you did stop working with the dark. You washed your hands and works at Donut Do It. It’s not your vibe but it is fine for your fresh start. After you slap that guy, you hear a woman voice call your name that has been long unspoken by anyone including you.
 “Baby.” A woman called.
“Normal people doesn’t know that name.” You said while choking that guy.
She said “Maybe because you’re not a normal girl.”
“What do you want Maria?” You ask that woman.
You immediately know who he is. Fury. “Oh God, not you too. Okay, for the record, honestly, I haven’t commit any crime that violated the laws.”
“You.” A deep voice man said.
Tumblr media
You can hear Maria smirk when she asks you “Are you sure about that?” “…today. You didn’t let me finish. I didn’t commit any crime, today.” You said. Fury tell you to let that guy go and you look at that guy “You’re with them?” He tries to answer even you’re still choking him. “Y.. YE.. Yes!” You release him and slap him real hard right across his face. “That’s for wasting my time. Fuck off.”
Fury look disbelievingly at you. “Was that necessary?” You look back at him “What? Caressing lightly on his soft cheek?” Maria interject “That’s the opposite of what you did.” You try again just to tease her. “Okay. I, tap his soft cheek?” Maria raise an eyebrow at you “Try again.” You surrender. “Fine. I just 180-degree angle slapped him. He’s a trained agent for God sake. He’ll be fine.” You turn around about to walk back to your work place and Fury stop you.
“And where do you think you’re going young lady?” He asks you.
You turning back. “ Work. Turns out I have a job now papa bear. Thanks for the recommendation letter though. Now, will you excuse me, I have go to work. Hope to never see you two again. Babai.” Again, Fury stops you. “You are not going to that Donut Do It.” You tilt your head to him. “I told you I work there and I’m going. If you two want donut, you know where to find it. Mention my name and you’ll get 30% discounts.” Maria’s face changes when she talks this time. “This is serious and urgent, Baby.”
“We are gathering as many as best agents that we have, and you are one of the best, Baby. Come with us and we’ll brief you.” Fury said and you stop him from saying any further. “Look, I’m gonna stop you right here papa Bear. That is where you are wrong. Aren’t you guys seen my record? I know what good is but I’m far away from good. There is still red blood stain painted on my hands that I could never leave. Even if I wash it thousands time, it won’t come off. What makes you think I’ll do it?” You feel your left chest aching but you ignore it.
Maria answers you. “Because everyone deserves a chance to be and do good. To start over. Yes, you can’t wash that much blood on our hands but this is the chance for you to do something good in your life. A do-over. You actually do something good after the academy. Take out those mobsters down, those gangs. You went inside to get the intel and you burn them to the ground and made those cities safe. Then, you just proof us again just now by caught that robber.”
You huff and look down on your feet. “You set that up.”
Maria look at you. “But you didn’t know that. Yes, Baby. We’ve seen your record. Detail. You are far away from where you are before the academy. Or after. I mean you did killed people.” You crunch your eyebrows at her “Hey!” Fury turn to talk. “Help us this time. After that, it’s all up to you. We are no longer bugging you. You are no longer in our record. I’m not wasting my time coming here if we don’t need you.” “I thought you miss me.” Fury huff and talk to Maria “I’ll wait in the car.”
“He never begging. That kind of begging, what he did. Is it that bad?” I ask Maria and she nod with worry face. “Earth level threat. That’s all I can say right now. Come with us to tower and we tell you more.” You let out a long sigh. “Me? Out of all agents, me?” Maria walk closer to you. “Please Baby.” You’re now messing with her. “It Earth level threat and you want a baby to involve? What kind of adult are you? Put a cute baby in danger like that. Unbelievable.” She smiles more than earlier. “The kind of person that will make sure there will be chicken drumets and spaghetti carbonara every day for your meal.”  You silently look at her and playfully sigh and she knows you better. “Caramel pudding and fluffy pillow too.” The ache in your chest getting hard to ignore now. You ask Maria some time and turn back from her. You bending, breathing like your doctor teach you and massage your chest a little. Must be from running earlier.
“Hey, are you okay?” Maria ask, worry if you are sick, but yes you are sick.
“Yeah. Just shock. Did you say fluffy pillow? You ask her, not wanting to let her know first. They need your help, that’s what you are going to do. Help as much as you can. She let out a giggles and wrap her arm around your neck. “Yeah, you are coming with us, like it or not.” You both walk toward their car where Fury is waiting. “How many pillow though?”

Tumblr media
Bucky knows he’s a mother hen.
He doesn’t need Steve to keep fucking reminding him every few hours.
He knows you can walk. He just likes carrying you, okay? You asked him to stop last night as the two of you’d gone to bed and he was respecting it this morning. Steve can shut the fuck up about it now.
He knows he doesn’t need to help you with every single thing. He knows you’re capable, but you’re injured and he just wants to help.
And you let him. You don’t sigh or grumble, don’t make side remarks like everyone else. You seem to preen a little at his attention, so he’ll keep chugging forward.
He’s seated on the couch next to you after the two of you had finished an early breakfast, watching you slide your fingers over his tablet as you go over the videos from the interrogations, bottom lip caught between your teeth.
Two had confessed they were upset at Tony and had gone after Pepper instead. One said he was carrying on Hydra’s work and needed to squash out those who had opposed them that day. One said he was just hired to help. The other two refused to talk to Steve.
Natasha had remedied that.
One had broken down in tears after about twenty minutes, admitting he had just been promised to pay off the hospital bills his daughter had. Tony paid off the debts the three hired men’s families had but handed the men over to Shield agents once they’d been cleared.
The last man, the one who had stabbed you, had just simply told Natasha the Avengers deserved everything they got. That every innocent person’s blood was on their hands.
Fury had added a video at the end in which all the men were now in jail, being held and watched by former Shield agents to boot. Said the man who had stabbed you had been injured mysteriously while being transported - making you look at him with an eyebrow raised. You asked to speak with him once your stitches were healed, which Fury had given a firm ‘No’ to.
“Stop watching that over and over again. Jesus, you’re as bad as me…” Tony grumbles as he walks by, snatching the tablet from you - wiping the videos from the tablet before handing it back.
You just glare at him as you set the tablet in your lap, Bucky leaning down a bit to press a kiss to the side of your head.
“I could help find something important.”
“Yes, but Buckaroo here wouldn’t let you go in there alone - neither would Fury - and then someone gets stabbed, the room gets sterilized, the body gets incinerated...there is a whole mess to clean up. Natasha’s methods are cleaner. So suck it up, buttercup.” Clint comes up behind him and hands you a small little white box. “Don’t reward her!”
Bucky shifts to hold the box so you can use your right hand to open it, already scenting the sugary confection that lies inside.
“Why not? She is a top analyst and active agent. I’m sure Coulson and Natasha have taught her better than to walk into an interrogation room and stab someone. Sloppy.”
When Bucky looks over at you, you have the paper cup half peeled off the cupcake bottom and are taking a big bite, the cream and small broken pieces of the pink white chocolate curls smearing on the tip of your nose. His husky chuckle draws your gaze to him, his thumb reaching out to wipe the mess from your nose and sucks the sugar from his thumb as you wink at him.
“Here’s your daily gift, metal mother hen,” Tony states, gesturing to Peter who comes bounding into the room with everyone trailing behind him, holding a laptop-sized midnight blue box with orange velvet ribbon wrapped around it.
Peter hands him the box, Bucky settling the box on his lap.
Once everyone is settled, he tugs the thick ribbon and pulls the lid off. In a little orange envelope is the awaiting letter.
Keep giving me those murder strut vibes, Bucky. Love, me.
When he reads it aloud he knows he sounds so confused, making you laugh, your left hand braced against his knee as you do so to keep from jostling yourself too much.
“What the fuck is a murder strut?” Natasha laughs at him then points to you.
“Pleeeeease explain it to him, Лисичка.”
Bucky shuffles a little closer, pursing his lips as the color rises on your cheeks. “Well?”
“Umm, well...you remember when you were the Winter Soldier and trying to murder Steve, Natasha, and Sam?” Bucky doesn’t flinch when you say it, and he knows logically that you knew he did that - you were a Shield agent during that time - but he knows you can see he’s trying not to show any emotion about it. “And you walked down the car?” He nods, a little more confused now. “And, um, the weight of your old arm?” He can hear soft snickers as your pupils expand, making his eyebrows shoot up. “Well, it - it gave you a very distinctive walk.” Bucky nods again, trying to figure out why you thought that was attractive. “And even though the Soldat was trying to stop these three,” You wave your cupcake towards Steve, “There were, ah,” Your blush gets darker as your tongue slips out quickly to wet your lips. “Several women in my department at the time who watched the newsreel quite a few times that day.” Sam is losing it behind Vision, his shoulders jiggling up and down with fervor. “One woman mentioned she’d have let you murder her withyourthighs,” You blurt out the rest, taking another bite of cupcake and averting your gaze.
Bucky sits there absolutely dumbfounded.
You are avoiding looking at him still, a fainter pink now dusting your cheeks.
Bucky opens his mouth to say something but nothing comes out.
“Soooo, what is the present?” Rhodey asks, breaking the silence. Bucky looks down at the open box on his lap like he couldn’t remember it was there. He moves the gray tissue paper to see a black t-shirt nestled inside. It’s emblazoned with a white coffin, black dripping writing within the coffin that reads ‘Thick Thighs and Spooky Vibes’ with a little bat underneath.
Tumblr media
“My thighs?” Bucky finally manages, your right hand coming up to shove the rest of your cupcake into your mouth, finally briefly meeting his gaze after a barely perceptible nod. Bucky can feel the heat rising in his own neck and face. “So my thighs and the weight shift for my arm?” You lick your lips again, giving a firmer nod this time as your eyes drop to your lap. “Murder strut.” He repeats almost stupidly, a few bursts of contained laughter coming from near the kitchen island, the column, and from his damned best friend. “You all knew this too, didn’t you?”
Tony is leaning on Bruce, shaking his head with a big smile on his lips.
“No I honestly didn’t - but it’s gold!”
“Sorry, pal, I didn’t know either,” Bruce states as he swats at Tony to get him off.
“There was just a lot of talk on how to find the Winter Soldier when you disappeared…” Natasha starts, looking at Sam.
“And it had been noted that your ass had a certain walk,” Sam chortles out, smiling so wide and hard that Bucky barely believes he can see over those cheeks. Dick.
He is tempted to pout, instead, he just sets the cardstock back into the box and replaces the lid. He sits the box on the coffee table in front of him, snatching the tv remote from where it sat a little to the left of the box, his right arm sliding around your waist and gently tugging you closer.
“What?” He asks with a glare as everyone continues to grin at him. “Show’s over for today.”
“If you say so,” Tony remarks, winking at you before he drags Bruce and Pietro away with him.
“See you later, Mr. Murder Strut!” Sam calls out as he heads towards the gym with Wanda, Bucky flipping him off just to make himself feel better.
Natasha checks you over, taking the cupcake’s box and discarded paper, pressing her forehead against yours - something soft passing in between your gazes - before she slides into the kitchen, discarding the trash and slyly taking the last pumpkin whoopie pie with her downstairs.
Bucky had clicked the tv on, determined to ignore everyone away from the two of you.
He wasn’t sure where everyone else had gone by the time he stopped channel surfing, your soft call of his name shocking him out of his thoughts.
“Are you okay, Bucky? I know that was,” He watches as you nervously swallow, your eyes searching the air in front of you like it would help you produce the right words. “Um, an intense and blunt way to find something like that out.”
Bucky takes careful notice of the look in your eyes, the concern, and still a bit of that leftover embarrassment, unable to keep the smirk from curling his lips upward.
He watches your eyes darken, shifting just a tad away from him as he leans in closer.
“How long have you been thinking of me and my thighs, huh pretty babydoll?” His husky whisper makes your eyes widen as your tongue darts out to wet your lips, inhaling sharply as he braces himself over you just so. He leans in, nosing just over your neck. “Aren’t you gonna answer me, pumpkin?” He asks earnestly, hearing your breath hitch as he pushes your hair away from your throat.
“I...I…”
“Yes, babydoll?”
“It’s wrong,” You whisper as he pulls away just a bit to look you in the eyes. “The Winter Soldier was trying to kill Fury, tossing my best friend around like a rag doll then he shot her. And all I could think was ‘I hope no one dies and he gets away.’ The footage from the surrounding cameras of the knife flipping… the way your fingers moved it. It was wrong to want him, but one of those things you can’t control your reaction to. Even when you tried to shoot Tony, it was wrong. But you were straining in those clothes.” You whisper so low like it’s sinful, but Bucky doesn’t give a fuck how you say it. You had said it. Wanted him when he was empty, just a tool for Hydra.
Bucky has to remind himself you were stabbed multiple times so he doesn’t crush you into the couch under him. He struggles for a long minute, clenching his jaw hard enough to hear a soft pop when he feels your fingers smoothing through his hair. “I didn’t mean to rile you up, Bucky,” You apologize so sweetly, kissing above his eyebrow gently. Another kiss on the bridge of his nose. Then the tip of his nose and his left cheek. “It’s just that phrase; murder strut...it really makes me remember the brief flash of horniness before the - the - the mess that came afterward. I hadn’t heard it put that way in a while.”
“Don’t apologize.” He can hear the roughness in his voice as he slides back into his original spot, a soft whine coming from you that makes his head snap over to you enough to probably give him whiplash.
You look like you’re about to cry. “No, babydoll, no.” Bucky soothes you, drawing you closer to him, lifting you into his lap. You give a little gasp, feeling him hard against your ass before he tugs you up a little higher, trying to ignore his arousal. “I want you to be attracted to me. All of me. And he’s a part of me. It’s just hard for me to understand how you’re so good. So open with me and how you were attracted to him. Are you attracted to me now because of him?”
“No!” Your soft hands cup his face, trying to pour your emotions into your eyes to make him understand. “The whole ‘I could murder you and you’d thank me for it’ is attractive, but I care for you because of all the things you are. Past, present, future. He’s a part of you. I don’t care. I’ve nearly gotten into a couple of fistfights since you’ve started working here over people calling you the Winter Soldier. To me it’s disrespectful.” You shift your left arm a little, wincing just a smidge. “You’re like a pit bull. People are scared of you because of their own ignorance. But I know pit bulls were nanny dogs. They were loyal and loving and kept the children they watched and their families from harm. I don’t find you scary. I know you’re a sweetheart under that bullish exterior you have around others. When I heard you had pulled Steve from the river and disappeared all those years ago, I sent out all sort of false leads.” Bucky pulls you back roughly, furrowed forehead as he computes what you just said.
“Why did you do that?”
“Because a bad man wouldn’t have pulled Steve from the river. There was no trail of death you left behind. You just wanted to be left alone. And we all deserve that to heal. I know I wanted to be alone more than I was.” You lean forward and kiss his lips gently, drawing him into the kiss as you deepen it, tongue sliding against his as Bucky nearly boils over with the need to shove your shirt up and see your mark - to kiss it reverently before he strips the both of you naked and binds your souls together as he makes love to you. You pull away, brushing your thumb over his lips with an almost sad smile. “You deserve everything, Bucky.”
Bucky tilts his head up just so, never breaking eye contact. “I just want you.”
Your eyes shift to your right just a tad before his hand shoots out to stop you from looking at the box on the coffee table. “I. Just. Want. You.” He reiterates, needing you to believe him.
“And I just want you, Bucky.”

The Note on the Tea Box
It all started with an apple.
That was the first thing Natasha Romanoff gave to Clint Barton. An apple.
They were in the cafeteria of a SHIELD base, having lunch on a random Friday afternoon. Natasha was sitting with Hill, going over some basic protocols for fire drills. They were going to have one later that day, and Natasha wanted to be prepared. She had just joined SHIELD a few months earlier, so she didn’t know all the procedures yet. Maria assured her that she had nothing to worry about. An alarm would go off, and they would walk calmly to the concealed outdoor waiting area. It all made sense to Natasha, and she thanked Maria for her help.
She decided to pick up a quick snack on her way out of the cafeteria. She spotted a bag of chips and went over to grab it. The woman at the counter looked appalled that she was just taking chips, and insisted on giving her an apple as well. Natasha took it, but she wasn’t really in the mood for fruit at the moment. She started walking towards the stairs to the basement level, deciding she would just throw the apple away when she got the chance. But then she saw Clint.
He was standing at the top of the stairs, deep in conversation with an agent Nat didn’t recognize. Right as she was about to pass him, she got an idea.
Natasha walked by him quickly and transferred the apple into his hand. He turned to look at her, but she was already rushing down the stairs.
“What am I supposed to do with this?!” He called, exasperated.
“I don’t know, that’s your problem now!” Natasha replied, smirking. And with that, she turned the corner on the staircase and was out of sight.
>>>
A few hours later, the fire alarm went off. Natasha had been cleaning up her room because there was nothing better to do. The world had been particularly boring lately. No one needed saving, nothing was corrupt, and the majority of the population seemed to be healthy. Not that any of this was a problem, it was great actually. But for SHIELD agents, it meant that there wasn’t much to do. Which is why the fire drill was a welcome distraction.
Natasha joined the slew of people in the hallway, all making their way to the waiting area. She looked around for a familiar face, but she didn’t spot any. She decided that walking alone would be fine too.
When everyone got outside, Director Fury made an announcement over the loudspeaker.
“Hello agents, glad you could all join us in this mandated bi-annual pain in my ass.” That received a few chuckles.
“In the event of an actual fire,” Fury continued, “You are to remain in this waiting area until the all-clear is given by the SHIELD firefighters. This means no going back to your rooms or elsewhere until we are given the all-clear. Do I make myself clear?”
“Yes sir.” Came the response from the gathered agents.
“Good, now that that’s over, you can all return to whatever you were doing before. Unless that whatever is throwing arrows in the ceiling in which case you may not continue doing that. Thank you.” Fury walked off the stage to join Hill on their walk back inside.
Natasha chuckled at his jab at Clint and started her walk back as well. Speaking of Clint, she now spotted him, about twenty feet away. She sprinted to catch up.
“Hey,” She said, catching her breath, “How did you like Fury’s speech.”
He chuckled, “I deserve it, the plaster people are getting very concerned as to why they have to patch my ceiling up every month.”
Natasha laughed and was about to say something, but Clint beat her to it.
“What was that apple for earlier?” He asked.
“Ohhh, the apple,” Natasha smirked, “I don’t know, I just didn’t want it, so I thought I would give it to you.”
“Hmm, it seems like I might have to get you back for that because I don’t like apples very much.” It was Clint’s turn to smirk.
They had reached Natasha’s room at this point, and she paused in the doorway before going in.
“Don’t be so overconfident, Barton. We’ll see what you come up with.”
Then she shut the door, leaving Clint standing there, wondering what the hell just happened.
Was Natasha flirting with him?
>>>
Natasha didn’t open her door until the next morning, and she almost tripped over what was on the ground right outside her room.
A bottle of Coke.
She laughed, picking it up. She wasn’t a very big fan of coke, and she knew for a fact that Clint was aware of this. She set it down on her counter and left to go have breakfast.
>>>
Clint was sitting at a tall table in the corner of the cafeteria, and Natasha went over to join him, after grabbing herself something to eat.
“Good morning,” she said, sliding into the chair across the table from him. “Did you do anything interesting last night?”
“Well, let's see,” Clint pretended to think, “I remember taking a late-night walk through the halls, but I believe I left my beverage outside of someone’s door. I can’t for the life of me remember who though.”
“That’s very interesting,” Natasha commented, taking a sip of her tea. Along with coke, she also hated the taste of coffee. She didn’t care if it was bitter or so sweet her teeth hurt, it all tasted horrible to her.
“Interesting indeed.”
They talked as they finished eating and then went their separate ways. As Natasha left to go to the weight room, something dawned on her. Clint had been teasing her a lot lately and trying to do things he thought were impressive whenever she was on a mission with him.
Was that his way of flirting? She wondered. Was Clint flirting with her?
>>>
They finally had another mission, but this one was easy. They just had to knock out a third-party operative who was otherwise going to deliver false information that would damage the reputation of a non-profit start-up.
It was over pretty quickly, and they were able to get the information out of his hands and secure. They went back to the motel they were staying at for the night. They said goodbye in the hallway, and both went into their rooms.
Clint closed and locked his door, flicking on the lights. Then he gasped. There on his bed were at least twenty rolls of smarties. Clint hated smarties, they always tasted like chalk, and they had no other flavor besides that. This had to be Natasha's doing. He smiled, brushing the candy away and climbing into bed.
He knew just how he was going to get her back.
>>>
The next day, when they were back at the base, Natasha was taking her daily afternoon walk through the corridors. She found that when you can’t go outside much, feeling like you’re moving around and getting somewhere is very important.
She was enjoying her stroll, when she heard, “Natasha!”
She turned around and looked down the hallway. She squinted, but she still couldn’t see anything.
“Up here,” The voice called again, and she looked up to see Clint, in the grates of the air duct on the ceiling.
“Clint, what are you doing up there?” Natasha asked, laughing. What could he possibly be up to?
“I wanted to give you something,” He replied and swung open the trap door of the vent. Natasha braced herself for what was undoubtedly going to be another gag food gift. And she wasn’t exactly wrong.
Clint dropped something from the ceiling and it landed on the floor in front of Natasha's feet. She picked it up to discover that it was a box of teabags. They were ginger spice, her favorite. What was Clint up to?
She looked up to ask him, but it looked like he had crawled away. There was a sticky note attached to the box though, and she peeled it off to read it.
Nat-
I know you’re not big on coffee, so maybe you would like to get a cup of tea with me sometime?
-Clint
Natasha looked up again, even though she knew Clint wasn’t there anymore. She was smiling like an idiot, but she didn’t care.
She was too busy thinking about all the ways she could say yes through food.
She was going to need another apple.
