Non specific side blog for fandom rants with pretty much no structure. Will probably wary, depending on my focus at the time. Won't even try to list all possible fandoms, sorry XD. Very very likely to be queer themed tho (except couple comfort straight couples/shows).

Ok, I know that I already reblogged @antianakin's post about why Anakin didn't need to murder an entire Tusken village because 2-3 of them killed his mom (original post here), but I just feel the need to talk about one of the most damning examples of why Anakin has no excuse for that response.
Post Order 66 Jedi/Clone interactions.
Let's just say, for the sake of the argument, that the entirety of the Tusken village--including the literal babies and children--all took part in the torture/murder of Shimi Skywalker. No exceptions.
Anakin's response to his mother's death is to murder everyone with no remorse or a second thought. Even when he confesses what he did to Padme, the RotS novel clearly shows that he doesn't actually feel bad about what he did. Most of his worry is about what others will think of him and, ironically, about how he's a "good Jedi" that should be better than this.
Now let's move on...
Every clone took part in Order 66 in some way.*
The clones murdered every single Jedi they could in cold blood (albeit without a choice), including the children, with only a miniscule few survivors. How many do we canonically have right now that didn't get captured and become Inquisitors? Obi-Wan, Quinlan, Cal, Caleb/Kanan, and Gungi are all I can think of at the moment.** That's 5 Jedi, out of thousands, that survived--and that's not even mentioning the destruction of their places of worship/cultural artifacts and the shitty propaganda spread about their culture.
* I'm not including the Bad Batch because, my own opinions about the show/characters/writing/etc. aside, we can all agree that the only reason their chips didn't activate was because they're Filoni's beloved OCs and he has a habit of trying to make his OCs "special" in some way.
** I'm not including Ahsoka in this because, like she says repeatedly as of Season 7 of TCW onward, she isn't a Jedi and doesn't see herself as such--and for the same reason I'm not including Grogu, since he's like...a Mandalorian apprentice now and not technically a Jedi. I'm also not including Luminara because she eventually gets captured and killed pretty early on and I'm trying to only include Jedi that are alive for a significant amount of time in the Imperial Era.
So, how do the Jedi treat the clones after they murder their entire family and destroy their culture? Let's look!
-----
Example One:
Obi-Wan Kenobi never learns about the inhibitor chips, as of current canon. He is 100% under the impression that Cody and the 212th (as well as all of the other clones) just up and betrayed him and the Order for no reason. He also watched the security tapes that, yes, showed Anakin killing children, but also would have shown the clones killing Jedi as well.
In the Kenobi show he runs into a clone veteran of the 501st--a veteran who, in all likelihood, probably stormed the Temple and was a part of its destruction.
Does he spit in the clone's face? Call him a murderer? Kill or harm him in any way?
Nope!
He gives the veteran some of his credits, even though it's made a point in the show that Obi-Wan is now working with limited funds and is very poor at this point in time. He doesn't have credits to spare and he is supposed to be looking for Leia, but he takes a moment to give some to someone who took part in the genocide of his people.
He also routinely thinks about Cody and the 212th in the comics! He remembers them fondly and still connects Cody to the feeling of hope, even though they tried to kill him! Even though he has no idea that they never wanted to!
-----
Example Two:
Kanan Jarrus/Caleb Dume knows about the inhibitor chips, but in Rebels it's made very clear that he thinks that it's just something the clones made up so that they didn't have to take responsibility for their actions.
In Rebels, Ahsoka makes the (objectively bad) decision to send Kanan out to find her "old friends" to help the rebellion.*** Kanan then finds out that her "old friends" are three clones, only after he gets there and sees them. He reacts in a panic and ignites his saber, clearly freaking out a bit.
*** I'll probably expand on this later, because I have a lot of opinions on this particular decision of hers, but anyway-
Does he try to hurt and/or kill them? Do they have to fight him off? Does he even lunge in their direction or deflect Wolffe's blaster bolt at him?
Again, nope!
He steps in front of Ezra in a defensive position and, when shot at by Wolffe, deflects the bolt into their ship. Then, when Ezra steps in and says that Ahsoka said to trust them, Kanan de-ignites his saber and they all have a conversation about them helping in the rebellion--even though Kanan clearly doesn't trust them at all and is dealing with his PTSD while being there. Eventually he even comes to get along with/trust Rex, albeit in later episodes.
-----
Example Three:
Gungi, in the Bad Batch, meets up with the Batch and immediately recognizes them as clones. Now, we don't know his opinion on them and their betrayal because it's never really expressed, but it's safe to assume that he has no idea about the chips (at least, until Tech tells him) and it's clear that he's very scared at that point in time.
What does he do?
He hides in the corner of the ship and is wary about the food they offer to him.
That's literally it.
And then later in the episode he works together with TBB and trusts them enough to let them help defend his village.
-----
So, even with most of the Jedi either having no idea about the chips or likely doubting that story, we're shown over and over again that the Jedi never seek revenge against the clones or try to kill them after Order 66. Even though their lives were ruined by what the clones did/took part in, they're never shown to be actively trying to cause them harm.
So there is literally no way you could possibly justify Anakin killing an entire village of Tuskens because of his mother's death, when--in arguably the same/a worse situation--the Jedi are actively shown not doing that.

Whatever you do don't think about the Ghost crew holding each other after Kanan's death- Don't think about Ezra full on sobbing curled up on the floor because he just lost the man he has viewed as a father for years, his mentor, his master, someone who has done nothing but be there for him and help him through some of the darkest times in his life and Hera not being able to comfort any of them because she just lost the love of her life, a man who has been with her through thick and thin, a man she just finally confessed her love to only to have him taken away from her SECONDS later, How Chopper just tries his best to keep her company and comfort her, reaching for her hand and trying to calm her down in between sobs, he doesn't know what to do since he hasn't seen her like this since her mother died. and definitely don't think about Sabine not knowing how to process his death in a healthy way so she just destroys whatever is in sight, just pure rage about the loss of a father figure, a man who helped her through so much guilt and pain, and don't think about Zeb trying to stay strong for all of them and only breaking down behind closed doors because Kanan was like his brother, and he lost him- just like he lost his people.
Just don't think about it, because all there is left once you remember is pain.

I am so damn angry right now. Maria Hill is an amazing character, but they never gave her any development. She was always the source, means to an end and now we're supposed to accept that she was killed by a skrull who took on Fury's face and just shot her.
Of course now Fury will (most likely) find his footing because of her death. And she was just left there. We know nothing about her from the MCU. I realized today that the person that for me is Maria Hill was created by dozens of amazing people and their fanfictions on AO3. She appeared in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., several movies and 'all' she was was provider of information.
I am very possilbly incorrect, but given the anger I am inclined to not care right now. I wanted to see her get a plot, even smaller one, but something other than the tool would be something.
I really hope that somehow she'll come back, but not everyone can pull several Coulsons. Let's hope I'll be able to delete this in few weeks time and this was tool used on us and not in the show itself.
Here's to hoping.
Maria Hill deserved better. Heck, she deserves better.

Run like hell
So, I was rewatching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., as one does, and noticed a bit of paralel.
In 2x12 "Who you really are" when May grabs Skye they both run like hell to get out of the situation.
Now, we all know that May wanted kids, but well, Bahran and Katya happened. The one she couldn't save hunted May probably until the end of her life.
And Skye/Daisy was like her child, all the so called Bus kids were, but Skye just a bit extra.
That made everything in 2x12 even more personal than it already was.
And we also know May didn't really stop loving Andrew. She probably stopped feeling it for a while, or at least she wanted to.
Now when I rewatched the whole thing again I can't get rid off the feeling, that when all of the shit hit the fan she was hearing Andrew's voice in her head.
"She's gonna be scared, kneeling down to her level will help. If not then just grab her, and run like hell."
So Melinda ran and tried to keep the girl safe. And well, the rest is history.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk

Sabé's ralatebility
Like, can we talk about this? Because out of the entire Star Wars, for me, she's the most relatable.
Like, this is one brilliant lady, we know that. It's clear from the beginning. Although, not really the Phantom Menace movie, because, yeah. The only thing I can think of from the top of my head is the ability to copy Padmé's behavior, which is no small task. But I don't think I realized how much work goes into that until I read the Queen's trilogy.
But, back to what I actually want to write about.
Firstly, she always comes second, and it doesn't matter what she does, how much she tries, or how talented Sabé is, she is always in someone's shadow. She prefers it, or so she says (to Bail when they visit Alderaan in Queen's Shadow for example). But I think it's something we don't really see all that often. Many stories are centered around the best of the best or even just the best in their class. I can't think of another character that, no matter how brilliant they are, they are never the best or 'good enough'.
And as someone who struggles with this, doing what I can and never being enough for certain standards, it's freeing, as cliche, as it sounds.
The second big part of it, for me, is her falling for the person she can never have. Now, I don't care how canon or non-canon this is. The scene of “My hands are yours,” she said. “Please don't ask me for them again." absolutely broke my heart, to pieces.
Now, this is a more common theme, however, seeing them combined in Sabé always shatters my heart.
I can be on whatever re-read, but it will always break my heart. They're all friends, but her and Padmé? What they have is unmatched. The complete understanding of one another, love, and trust...

Ahsoka and OG Handmaidens
This has been in my head for a while, and after finishing Tales of Jedi I need to get it out.
To get our facts straight, so to speak, Bail and Ahsoka were working together, Bail knew about Obi Wan and Yoda, don't tell me he didn't have any way to contact Padmé's handmaidens.
Now, I haven't read the Vader comics, I know that they protected Padmé's grave and founded their own small rebel cell? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Now to my point, Ahsoka specifically tells Bail that Padmé was her friend. Now, I refuse to accept that during her time with the senator and then alone on her own she didn't talk more with either of the handmaidens (and even if so, this is Star Wars, everyone has met/ knows everyone).
I propose Ahsoka working with them. This annoying teenager/young adult/new adoult who reminds Sabé of both, the tiny to be padawan and her love, would drive them absolutely crazy (kinda in the good way).
Just imagine the sass that would go down, the debates that would look too violent to everyone, except those who know them.
I also need Sabé punching Bail in the should for keeping secrets (this is an AU)
And now imagine Kaeden, and maybe Miara, joining this little AU equation of mine. The attitudes, the pranks.. The matchmaker situations because of course Kaeden and Ahsoka haven't gotten together despite certain scene in the Ahsoka novel. I want to say I'm sorry for causing Bail such headache, but I'm really not.
And then they meet the Ghost crew, and Sabé joins Kannan's bitching on the Jedi (only when there is alcohol involved and the kids are sleeping), because despite never meeting her, Kannan knew who Amidala was, duh.
And Princess on Lothal comes around, and Bail almost meets his end a few years too early. (note - never put yourself on a bad side of a first gen handmaiden). Even if all handmaidens suspected who Leia actually was, or more like, who were her bio parents.
And then Rex comes back, almost has a heart attack, because not only is little Snips dating, but there was another Amidala?? And later he when he finds out that not only did they have twins, but Anakin turned to Vader, and that wookie is Chewbacca?? Isn't the galaxy supposed to be like, large or something?? Give him a break, the old man deserves it. Old bald man, as little Poe calls him.
Also, Sabé would go a little crazy from Amilyn, before she understood her (the rest would be just laughing at her tbh).
