Magnolias are so ancient plants that almost every other plant and insect who came to being around the same time as them has gone extinct by now. They are the loneliest plants in this world. Does anybody understand how much grief it gives me that the symbolic flower of Kuras is magnolia.

The Age of Amphibians Framed Art Print Carboniferous Forest Lasdscape Art by Famed Czech Artist Zdenek Burian Molding:Professional 1" Flat Top Black (solid-wood) Print: Full Color dry mounted glossy print Glass is included, Comes Fully Assembled Ready For Your Wall The print is bonded to foam core on a hot vacuum press. This bonding gives the print a perfect flat and smooth texture. This process also insures the print will never fold or fade with age or moisture. This wonderful display makes a thoughtful and original gift containing a classic vintage touch yet modern design, allowing it to fit alongside both modern and classic decor. The Carboniferous (/ˌkɑːrbəˈnɪfərəs/ KAR-bə-NIF-ər-əs)[6] is a geologic period and system of the Paleozoic that spans 60 million years from the end of the Devonian Period 358.9 Ma (million years ago) to the beginning of the Permian Period, 298.9 Ma. In North America, the Carboniferous is often treated as two separate geological periods, the earlier Mississippian and the later Pennsylvanian.[7] The name Carboniferous means "coal-bearing", from the Latin carbō ("coal") and ferō ("bear, carry"), and refers to the many coal beds formed globally during that time.[8] The first of the modern "system" names, it was coined by geologists William Conybeare and William Phillips in 1822,[9] based on a study of the British rock succession. Carboniferous is the period during which both terrestrial animal and land plant life was well established.[10] Stegocephalia (four-limbed vertebrates including true tetrapods), whose forerunners (tetrapodomorphs) had evolved from lobe-finned fish during the preceding Devonian period, became pentadactylous during the Carboniferous.[11] The period is sometimes called the Age of Amphibians[ BUY WITH CONFIDENCE. Skink High Priest from Warhammer Fantasy Battle 8th edition
Tabletop figure (mini) from the 8th edition Warhammer Fantasy Battle. This model was painted by me somewhere around 2010-2012... Recently my friend decided he wants to try playing Age of Sigmar or other format, and wanted to buy my stack of unused Lizardmen models. Decided to get some "glam shots" of this fella, before parting ways. It does look good, and am pleased with how it all ended up looking. Of course, it is older paintjob, so I see many things I'd love to redo, but on the other hand for the past decade it did not bother me at all when it was collecting dust, so just letting him go, he finally will experience some tabletop battle action! Thanks for stopping by, and have a good day! Socials: keik-keik.carrd.co

Paleovember 2023, Megalania!
Once again we dip back into Australia in the Pleistocene, a time when there were even MORE wild and dangerous animals than exist today. Last year we highlighted the marsupial lion, and while it had deadly killing tools, it was far from the biggest, or the only major predator in Prehistoric Australia; just one of them was Megalania. Scientifically known as Varanus priscus, is estimated to measure over 20 feet long, making it the largest lizard to ever exist, larger than it's modern surviving relative, the Komodo dragon, which also evolved in Australia before being limited to islands in Indonesia.
