why is it that whenever fictional lesbians kiss it’s like “they kissed but at what cost?!?!”

Obviously next week could prove this all dead-wrong, but I don’t think the trial’s quite over. I don’t believe the end of that episode actually took place, because I’m pretty sure we’re still firmly in the “punish Agatha” phase. Rio’s suddenly gone. Alice seems to be dead by Agatha’s hand, and no one—including Teen, who has always been on her side—seems primed to believe she was out of control. The others have been sucked beneath the power of the surrogate son who not only just told Agatha to fuck off, but went full-Wanda to do it. It just all seems too tailored to cut up any of the character progress Agatha’s made on the Road thus far. Getting harassed by her ghost mother and hearing her son’s voice don’t feel like a complete tear-down. This does. It feels like more trial.

I heard nobody talking about the fact that Agatha telling Billy, who's ashamed of his uncontrollable mythical power: "No, [you're not killing him.] Sometimes, boys die." in the most resigned, heartbroken voice could've been an act of forgiveness towards Rio. Like she finally understood that sometimes, bad things happen and it's nobody's fault, especially when the accused can't control their power.
...and then that was lost on everyone in order to have a big epic fight Marvel style. Was it so hard to show change, forgiveness, compassion on screen, instead of blind rage and conflict, especially given the time we're living in?
And we have another parallel between Billy and Rio when he says that she (Agatha) is good, and she replies that he seems to be the only one to think so. EXCEPT HE'S NOT. And Agatha knows it damn well, because Rio literally asked her why she lets other people believe that she's evil (implying that she doesn't!).

I’ve seen so many different takes on why rio stopped agatha from kissing her, and of course we can’t know for sure, but for me that was the moment where we saw proof that rio still loves agatha, even if it is in her own twisted way.
rio feels guilt for what happened with nick, and even if she’s manipulated that regret into using it to almost guilt trip agatha (“she is my scar”), she feels it enough that she can’t let agatha believe something that isn’t true (according to her at least…rio isn’t exactly a reliable narrator, so we might have to remember to take some of what she says with a grain of salt until we have further proof). she knows that agatha’s main reason for surrendering to her desire is because she has hope that their son might be alive, and rio doesn’t want that to be the reason they rekindle things because a) it would hurt agatha too much when/if she realizes teen is not nick and b) it’s not a long term guarantee that rio gets agatha back.
so I think there’s some conflicting motivation here, part of it is selfishness on rio’s part but part of it is the fact that she does love agatha and she can’t stand to hurt her so badly again.

why is agatha all along twitter freaking the fuck out lately.. like did i miss a chapter? since when does everyone hate each other? since when can you only like one character? why are people insanely homophobic on BOTH sides?? what the hell is happening??
not to mention the severe level of bullying now being thrown at actors over things their characters did.. i thought we were past this

Can we talk about how Rio literally sped up the cycle of death so Agatha’s grave could be one of beauty and life? And she looked devastated. She covered her with flowers because to her, Agatha was beautiful.

Agatha All Along is either gonna be the gayest thing that Disney ever releases, or it’s going to be the biggest queerbait since Swan Queen and I’m wound so tightly waiting to see which one it is

OHHHH... THE green witch, because the Earth is growth and life and flourishing... but it also decay and rot and everything "returning to the earth" in it's time. i like it. i like it a lot.
yeah so that among MANY other references in this episode, Rio is definitely Death.
