“What changed?” Jean asked.

“Kevin,” Jeremy answered.

Jean battled with his own expression to not show his exasperation. The way these two circled around each other was beyond tiring: the lingering, almost longing looks Kevin had sent Jeremy when Jeremy wasn’t looking; the way Jeremy’s smile softened into something real when he talked to Kevin; the way they both skirted around conversations like they were both avoiding some awful truth. Kevin hadn’t denied liking Jeremy, but had insisted that it didn’t matter. One look at Jeremy’s expression now said that it mattered a lot. Jean wished he could put them both out of their misery, or otherwise show them what real hardship looked like when it came to love. These spineless children would take one look at what Jean had had to deal with and run in opposite directions.

Jeremy mistook Jean’s annoyed silence as confusion. “Kevin Day,” he said. “We took a life drawing class together over our lunch breaks the other day.”

“You put a sticker on his face,” Jean said, because that was easier than saying “You mooned at each other across the room.”

Jeremy grinned, not quite promiseless but not sunshine either. “Yeah. Anyway, I saw him in an interview—he must have been fourteen or something. He was talking to some reporter at one of his mum’s exhibitions, and they asked Kevin what it was like to have a legacy to uphold, how he was going to fit into his mother’s shoes and all that.” Jeremy rubbed the back of his neck, almost embarrassed. “I don’t know. It hit home. But then Kevin just talked about how excited he was to be in that gallery on an opening night and to have the opportunity to talk to all of these important art people. He said he was determined to make his mum proud, and that having Riko by his side was all the encouragement he needed.” Jeremy then scoffed, but Jean didn’t know why.

“Who is Riko?” he asked. “Why does everyone know who he is if he doesn’t go to PSUA?”

It's his pair, lost and wandering and broken. "Don't go easy on me," he barks out. "Not doing it for you, Day." Because it's not, it's to bother the little spoiled prince. He doesn't do it again though, once is enough. Kevin is capable of scoring on him on his own, he's done it before. Not in a long time, but he can. The same cannot be said for Riko. Just this once will be enough for it to grate on him.

the only reason i started reading Kevaaron fics is because they actually focus on Aaron's character instead of making him into this something who's sole purpose in life is to antagonise Neil or Andrew lmao, but then it actually got me hooked on them like they're SO cute!!

Don't get me wrong, i LOVE Katelyn/Aaron and when i find fics that focus on Aaron and its has Kataaron then that's even better. Like that absolute sweetheart of a girl stood by him in literally EVERYTHING. She didn't even leave him when his brother literally threatened her with a knife (i know i would??? i'd feel so unsafe in that family no matter how good said brother's intention were).

Anyway, let's please appreciate Aaron and Katelyn more please, i love them so much!! And Kevin as well, he's such an interesting character!!!!!
