When Silver finds Sonic, to very little surprise, he's broken into this abandoned mansion that looked pretty recently abandoned. but in the specific moment that Silver finds Sonic may have been after he had a couple too many drinks of his own. Sonic intended to be alone afterall, he started doing this recently because one- he was old enough. and two- who could really tell this impulsive hedgehog not to do anything when he actively breaks the sound barrier with his speed on a daily basis?

point is, after one drink led to another- Sonic was now swinging haphazardly from this abandoned mansion's unsteady chandelier. he was probably singing that stupid chandelier song but if he was, he was too incoherent or too quiet about it. that's.. one way to lighten up after a rough battle, to put it the kindest way possible.

That's probably the only time Sonic actually catches notice of Silver, whether Silver had been there the whole time or not was probably unknown to this 'had a little too many' hedgehog right now.
