#I'm thinking of creating a digital wellness journal based on my experience as a peer support specialist#that gives prompts and such that would be similiar to if say we were working 1:1#I'm curious if anyone has suggestions of what works or doesn't work for them with these types of journals#or if you've used one before or haven't#and what you'd like to potentially see#lemme know if you have a thought#also as a pss i work with people who have addictions and people who need wellness and mental health services#primarily i work with kids but all ages is no biggie to me#I'd like this to be something tangible for all ages or at least young adults and up like 16+

today i felt more depressed than i have in a few months. i wasn’t particularly sad about anything but i just had zero energy or life in me. i saw my bsf and felt nothing and we did something i’d usually be excited about but i felt nothing. i honestly just wanted to leave and come home to drink the whole time. which means things are getting bad again and i’m not sure how to stop it before it gets worse. it bums me out that i’m slowly getting back into a bad place. i was doing so well for a few months :/ and i wanted it to last. my last depressive episode was 14 months long and now i’ve had a few good months im not ready to fall back into an episode. the last one was so so bad and i’m scared of that happening again. and i’m so scared of it lasting that long or even longer. i’m so scared but i never know how to feel better. i just drink
#i’m sad dude. i don’t want this to happen but idk how to stop it before it does#i need to get back into therapy with an addiction specialist. i need to hold myself accountable for making the phone call#pink’s word vomiting

I need to draw my main team at some point because the roles are so uneven. Taru murders everything. Shinobu and Yanfei are the heals + overloaded duo. And 90% of the time Thoma is kind of just happy to be there.
#i say 90% of the time because when i DO need a split second shield#like say when i have to fight the primo geovishap because of course that's the mats hu tao needs#then thoma is in fact extremely handy#but the rest of the time his shield just doesn't last long enough so he's just kind of there#he'll have to go once (prayer circle) i finally get my hands on zhongli#team dynamics are so fun you have shinobu and yanfei the senpai/kouhai duo and legal specialists of the team#having to deal with a battle addicted harbinger who literally can't help himself whenever he spots enemies even if they're his own men#and thoma who probably helps fix his messes in various ways through the power of not exactly blackmailing but still kind of blackmailing#my team has two members who excel in cooking and cleaning and it's neither of the girls#i love all of them dearly#genshin

My GI appointment went really well. Doctor seemed just as annoyed as I am at the doctor who did my endoscopy because he didn't test for anything it turns out he just found the hernia and only cared about that. So she sent an order for me to get a gastric emptying test done, and after that she wants me to come in again to discuss the results. She said after that she's going to order another endoscopy and make sure they do a bunch of biopsies this time. I also told her I think my hernia is from hEDS instead of smoking, and told her about all the stuff wrong with me. She asked why the hell I'm not diagnosed with it and I said because I have all the symptoms but the really scary ones and idk if anyone in my family has had them because nobody goes to the doctor. So she wrote down the name and location of a doctor an hour away she said I should see who specializes in EDS enough to have written papers on it, she said she knows everything she knows about EDS because of him. She told me to wean myself off all the things triggering my gastrointestinal issues and to make sure I go to my appointment to see the prolapse surgeon, because she said my pelvic floor issues are probably a bit component to my bathroom issues.
#I told her I can't tell if I have low tone or high tone problems#Because I have stress incontinence but I also can't go to the bathroom when I need to. It takes me at least 5 minutes to finally pee#And I'm too tight for sex#So I guess I'll find out wtf is wrong with me when I see the specialist for that#But yeah doctor seemed actually concerned for my wellbeing and also sympathetic to my issues with quitting addictions#my posts

The other day I told a friend of mine that I never forget to take my ADHD meds because I fucking love my ADHD meds. I'm in my late 30s, I didn't finally get a diagnosis and meds until less than two years ago, and they have changed my entire life.
And he raised his eyebrow at me. We'd been discussing addictive medications a few minutes before, like the Tramadol I finally got from the pain specialist to take once a week or so to give me a break from my chronic pain, so I reassured him that methylpenidate (Ritalin/Concerta) is not addictive (at least not in people with ADHD).
His response? To raise his eyebrow even harder and say "Well it sure SOUNDS like it's addictive!"
And I had to explain to this man - who works in a healthcare related job by the way - that just because medication makes you feel good and helps you, just because you look forward to taking it, that doesn't make it addictive or dangerous. And he wasn't convinced.
The simple fact that I was excited to take a daily pill that has literally changed my life, after decades of fighting to get that medication, made him think I shouldn't be taking it so often. That it must inherently be dangerous.
I'm not even in America, but I'm pretty sure this attitude began there and then spread over here to Europe. This Puritan idea of "if something feels good, you must beware of it. Pleasure is dangerous, it is sinful, it is addiction, it is evil."
I know too many people who subconsciously believe that pleasure = addictive = dangerous = bad. Joy is a slippery slope to hell.
So here is your reminder for today that you don't need to be afraid of feeling good. If something improves your life, use it. Even if it is addictive - learn what that addiction means, whether the addiction is inherently dangerous or not, and whether the benefits outweigh the drawbacks and risks.
My ADHD meds are, in fact, not addictive. But I will take them every day because they make my life orders of magnitude easier. I will enjoy them every time I take them.
My tramadol is addictive. I will still take it. I will keep it on a schedule to avoid becoming addicted, primarily because addiction in this case would mean reduced effectiveness. But I am not afraid of my painkillers. They are life changing.
Take your meds, everyone. Don't let anyone scare you away from doing something that improves your life.

One of my residents relapsed today. First time it’s happened while I’ve been working, and it happened on my shift. I am trying not to blame myself. Maybe if I was more vigilant about doing the rounds it would’ve been different. Probably not though. I’ll talk to Nicole about it tomorrow and ask her how I should learn from this.
