Acura 2019 RDX Review, Specs, News – Correctly where challengers, by way of example, the Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class and Lexus NX utilize turbocharged 4-barrel engines, the Acura RDX continues to be by using a robust V6 joined to some easy-transferring programmed sometimes controlling the leading or each of the four tires.

I’ve been wondering what car I’ll get next, when I wear this one out. It’s starting to get a bit cranky, although it’s been a super awesome car that I still adore (and I’ve got many more years to go with it). So I’ve been casually looking around, thinking that I might go with a different maker. Audi? Land Rover? Benz? (HAH! They are all so expensive). And I came to the conclusion that 11 years later, they still don’t make cars like mine...except for the newly redesigned 2019 RDX.
Looks like I might be upgrading the RDX to an RDX. I’m so boring.
Just please, Acura, please offer it in better colors than you usually do.

I drove a $60,000 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid to see if the fuel-efficient SUV can take on Audi, BMW, and Mercedes. Here’s the verdict., Defence Online
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
The 2019 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid is a mid-size, three-row crossover SUV whose powertrain is related to the Acura NSX supercar.
Competition is intense in this segment, but Acura has a worthy entrant.
If you want an excellent luxury SUV that’s cheaper than a BMW or Audi, yet has great performance and lots of the tech, the Acura MDX Sport Hybrid is worth a look.
Visit Defence Online’s homepage for more stories.
We don’t lack for luxury car brands in this world. But the sheer magnitude of choice can be daunting. So if you’re having a tough time deciding whether it should be BMW or Audi, Mercedes or Lexus, Jaguar or Alfa Romeo, I’m here to help.
Consider Acura – I know I have. I’ve nearly bought an Acura a couple of times, and in the time I’ve been reviewing cars at Defence Online, I’ve driven many and enjoyed them all.
Acura, Honda’s luxury brand, debuted in 1986 and has been producing excellent vehicles ever since. The NSX supercar nabbed our Car of the Year award in 2016, and other Acuras have been finalists. As luxury brands go, Acura takes a lot of agita off the table. If you’re familiar with Honda, you know the company engineers superb cars that have a deserved reputation for reliability.
Acura adds a premium dimension to that, and has always pushed for technical innovation. That’s why I was excited to test the 2019 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid, which has a nifty three-electric-motor drivetrain coupled with a bulletproof VS engine.
Read on to learn how it went down:
Here we have the 2019 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid, in a fetching “Canyon Bronze Metallic” paint job. My tester was about $60,000, but the base MDX is $44,000.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
The color is nice, but the overall design is pure crossover. Personally, I think the styling is more appealing than the Audi Q7.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
The beaklike grille and the large Acura badge have been divisive, but overt time I have grown to kind of like them.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
The Acura badge does double duty — it’s an “A” and also a caliper, with the latter stressing the Honda luxury brand’s passion for precision engineering.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
And precision engineered it is. This “Japanese” ride is assembled in Ohio — and assembled beautifully. The LED headlights really slice through the darkness.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
The Acura MDX Sport Hybrid of course falls prey to the design weakness of all crossovers: the backend is dominated by a huge (powered) liftgate.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
The integrated spoiler and dual chrome exhaust pipes take some unpleasantness away, however.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
And the tail lights are nicely coordinated with the overall rear design.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
The Acura badge could even be called subtle.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
Cargo capacity with the third row deployed is typical for the segment, at 15 cubic feet.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
Drop the third row, and you more than double that, to about 40 cubic feet. Drop the second row and you’re looking at about 80 cubic feet.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
The hybrid system is related to the powertrain in the Acura NSX supercar.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
Let’s pop the hood and take a closer look.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
The 3.0-liter V6 cranks out 290 horsepower, but the hybrid power plant’s three electric motors brings that to 321 hp. In real life, this crossover feels quite robust, and it can dash to 60 mph in less than six seconds. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission channels the power to the MDX’s all-wheel-driver system.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
Let’s slip inside and sample the “Espresso” interior.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
The seats are extremely comfortable without being overly smushy, and the moderate bolstering will hold folks in place if the driver opts for spirited motoring.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
The front seats are heated and cooled, and the wood trim is downright gorgeous.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
The rear captain’s seats are also comfy, and there’s a decent amount of legroom.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
The third row is intended for short hops if adults are in the picture, or for smaller passengers if longer journeys are planned.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
The interior can get a bit dark …
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
… so the moonroof is a welcome extra.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
The rear seats are heated and have their own climate controls.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
I generally find Acuras to be optimized for driving in a way that’s challenged mainly by BMW. The leather-wrapped steering wheel and analog gauges are purposeful.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
The offbeat, pushbutton gear-selector take some getting used to.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
We haven’t been huge fans of Acura’s two-screen infotainment system, but the additional screen does allow you to run the Acura system and Apple CarPlay or Android Auto at the same time.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
Infotainment is controlled using a knob and buttons. The system has been updated — we sampled the new version in an RDX crossover — but for this test vehicle, we had to deal with the previous generation.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
Even though it isn’t terribly user-friendly, it gets the job done. My test vehicle included Acura’s extraordinary ELS Studio premium audio system, which is among the best in the business.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
Navigation worked superbly, and Bluetooth pairing was a breeze. There are also USB/Aux ports and numerous places in the vehicle to charge up. As you can see, there’s also a CD player!
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
If you like, you can tweak the system to display how power is being routed through the hybrid drivetrain.
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
So why don’t we fire up this luxury hybrid, drive it around, and …
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
… Render a verdict!
source
Matthew DeBord/BI
It’s hard to argue with Acuras. My colleague Ben Zhang and I can certainly find things to pick on, such as the awkward two-screen infotainment system. But when we got down to the important stuff, the Acura MDX Sport Hybrid delivered a fantastic payoff. Some car companies simply build a fine automobile that checks off all the boxes.
Acura adds luxury to Honda’s already stupendous engineering and quality. It isn’t Mercedes-level luxury, but it’s about what you see in BMW and Audi. In my experience, Acura can’t quite match BMW for driving dynamics, and Audi offers some snazzier tech. But those brands cost more, and it’s not always clear it’s worth the extra scratch, given how well-executed Acuras are.
Driving the MDX Sport Hybrid ranges from relaxing to invigorating, depending on how you’ve managed the settings. Ben was particularly impressed with the buttery smooth power delivery, something we’d already experienced with the NSX supercar. I like the steering, which combined gentleness at low speeds with precision at higher velocities.
The MDX Sport Hybrid is brisk off the line, and in corners, it exhibits a refreshing lack of body away. It isn’t a sports car, but the “Sport” in the name isn’t a ruse. You can have some fun with it.
Otherwise, the vehicle is an ideal suburban family hauler that won’t make parents feel like minivan-piloting schlubs if they want to enjoy date-night at an establishment with a valet line. For an oomphy V6, the hybridized MDX drivetrain yields decent fuel economy numbers without sacrificing performance: 26 mpg city/27 highway/27 combined. And the MDX is crammed with driver-assist technologies and safety features, under the “AcuraWatch” banner.
The upshot here is that the 2019 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid is well-priced, offers good fuel-economy, and won’t bore you behind the wheel. At $60,000 well-equipped, it’s a bit pricey, but you’re getting a lot of car for the money (and Acuras tend to hold up over the long term).
It’s the thinking person’s mid-size, three-row luxury crossover.

Precision Crafted Performance: Renacimiento

Car shoppers reveal favorite auto brands of 2019
Reliability, value, performance, style – these are just some of the qualities that can shape an auto brand and play into your next car-buying decision. And while you will have your own perceptions of brand ahead of a new purchase, the wisdom of 12,000 shoppers might also help.
Enter the Kelley Blue Book Brand Image Awards. Including 13 winners across seven categories, they recognize the carmakers that generate most enthusiasm among new-vehicle shoppers who do their research at KBB.com. Take a look at their top brands for 2019, and the comments of Kelley Blue Book, below.
Best overall brand – Honda
The breadth of its lineup with impressive vehicles ranging from the efficient and affordable Fit up through its Pilot three-row SUV is evidence that Honda is committed to having a vehicle that’s suited for both first-time buyers and loyal owners looking for that next Honda to fit their current needs.
Best overall luxury brand – Lexus
Setting the benchmark for luxury brands worldwide, Lexus worked hard to build a reputation that’s backed by the quality of its products and the care with which it serves its audience.
Most trusted brand – Subaru
Consistency is the key to building trust and Subaru is, if anything, unchanging in its commitment to making high-quality vehicles that inspire confidence.
Most trusted luxury brand – Lexus
Even as Lexus looks to edgier styling to attract a younger audience, it remains committed to building durable and reliable vehicles.
Best value brand – Honda
Returning as the leading value brand for the fifth year running, Honda has the enviable position of offering cars and trucks that have a great reputation for durability, reliability and resale value.
Best value luxury brand – Acura
Acura delivers high-tech luxury at affordable prices, whether it’s the compact ILX sedan or the flagship NSX, which delivers supercar performance, not to mention Acura’s RDX and MDX crossover SUVs.
Most refined brand – Honda
With each succeeding generation of new vehicles, Honda continues to hone its refinement efforts, which contribute greatly to the perception that you are getting a vehicle that has the presence of one that’s a class higher.
Most refined luxury brand – Mercedes-Benz
Refinement is one of those core values that defines vehicles wearing the three-pointed star.
Best performance brand – Mazda
Mazda’s reputation as a performance brand isn’t just because the Mazda3 and Mazda6 are arguably the most fun-to-drive cars in their segments. You can also look at the Mazda CX-3, CX-5 and CX-9 SUVs, and realize they’re the most driver-centric in their competitive sets as well.
Best luxury performance brand – Porsche
There are few brands that are as sharply focused on driving excitement and performance as Porsche. The lineup continues to expand, including sedans and SUVs, all of which offer the unique driving feel the company is known for.
Best styling brand – Dodge
Dodge may be a first-time winner in this category, but its vehicles’ designs were inspired by decades of muscle-car legacy and attitude. Consider the muscular Challenger, a new take on the company’s classic 1970s model, which is offered in the same colors that were available back then.
Best luxury styling brand – Porsche
The Porsche 911 has one of the most iconic shapes in the history of the automobile. You can see Porsche’s liquid curves taken even further in the 718 Boxster and Cayman, as well as in the Cayenne, Macan and Panamera.
Best overall truck brand – Toyota
While full-size trucks are the prime battleground in the pickup market, the rising popularity of midsize models may be beginning to have an impact on the image of manufacturers … The Tundra has long been a credible entry, but the gold standard in the midsize market and resale value winner is the stalwart Tacoma.

2019 Chevrolet Blazer Interior Review: Bold Design Inside and Out
Camaro-style air vents dominate the new 2019 Chevrolet Blazer’s interior. It’s the first thing you’ll see when you step into the midsize two-row crossover’s cabin, and it instantly distinguishes the Blazer from every other crossover Chevrolet offers. There’s more to the interior than just big, circular air vents, however—keep reading to learn more about the new Chevrolet’s insides.
Camairo
The 2019 Blazer’s HVAC controls and air vents appear as though they were ripped from a Camaro. It’s a good look. Adjust the air temperature by turning the outside of the low-mounted central air vents left or right. One minor issue: Taller drivers may find that the tops of the HVAC buttons—such as inside-air circulation, the temperature readouts, and A/C controls—are slightly covered up by the protruding lip of the dash above.
This Could Be Good
Most Blazers will come with a cloud-connected infotainment system that can associate various settings to each key fob. So if your significant other has different audio and navigation presets and has logged into Chevy’s integrated Spotify application, all of that info—plus settings connected to collision detection systems and the auto heated/ventilated seats—are all associated with that key fob. And if you’ve got another new GM vehicle with the same tech, Chevrolet says you can log into that car’s system to apply your settings.
About that integrated Spotify system: If you set it up, your audio presets can be a mix of different types of audio, from a Spotify playlist to satellite and FM radio options.
Spacious for People…
The 2019 Blazer’s rear seats feel spacious, and the backs of the front seats are soft. The drivetrain tunnel barely intrudes on foot space, meaning the occasional middle-seat rear passenger will have a tad more room. The rear-seat backrest recline functionality is also appreciated. Instead of having the control on the top of the seat as in some crossovers, a giant lever near the outboard passengers’ thighs is more convenient. The seats also move forward and backward, though we’re curious how often owners will actually use this feature.
The Blazer loses people-space points when it comes to rear-seat headroom when the crossover is equipped with a panoramic sunroof. It won’t be a problem unless your rear-seat passengers are tall, but competitors surpass the Blazer in this respect.
…But Not as Much for Their Stuff
If you’d never seen the cargo space of other compact and midsize crossovers, you’d probably never realize that the 2019 Blazer’s cargo area underperforms in its segment. The flashy Chevy’s cargo measurements are actually within 1 cubic foot of the smaller Equinox’s figures.
Higher trims offer a cargo rail system that can separate your stuff, and the rail stores away under the cargo floor. While you’re down there, appreciate the two underfloor cargo compartments—I’ve found similar spaces on my long-term 2019 Acura RDX very useful.
Oooh, Look at That!
Mentioning a luxury crossover is more relevant than you might think, considering the Blazer’s pricing tops out over $51,000 with all-wheel drive, or more than a loaded RDX with similar equipment. Go all out on a 2019 Blazer—and no, we’re not including the crossover’s $395 illuminated bowtie option—and the Chevrolet is well equipped. Except for the lack of auto brake hold and head-up display options, the Blazer comes with everything else you’d want at that price. That includes enormous 21-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, a surround-view camera system, heated and ventilated front seats, and active safety tech.
One of Chevrolet’s more expensive trims is Premier, which eschews the RS’ sportier appeal for a more luxurious appearance. The available beige seats look great, and the sueded microfiber trim will make some think, “This is a Chevy?” The piping on the dash and seats features an awesome red/white/blue detail that’s easy to miss. Once you see it, though, it’s the type of detail that will make an owner proud they splurged on the Premier model.
Seeing Red (and Black)
The other high-end trim is the Blazer RS. A quicker steering ratio makes the Blazer feel more maneuverable, but there are a bunch of aesthetic changes inside and out, too. The cabin gets a blacked-out look down to the the bowtie on the steering wheel, with lots of red stitching. A red “RS” trim piece on the gearshift stalk is a welcome touch, as is the red-colored air vent trim. In the future, we hope the RS will have slightly more aggressive front seats.
Shiny
Regardless of trim, the 2019 Blazer uses lots of shiny silver trim on the steering wheel and dash. Even if that’s your style, hopefully the trim won’t reflect light directly into a driver’s eyes when the sun hits it at just the right angle.
Take Your Time
The Blazer’s drive mode dial takes too long to adjust to a driver’s double twist from one mode to another. And on the front-drive model, having the regular drive mode between the low-traction and sport modes would be an improvement.
The Blazer will accommodate drivers who occasionally use engine braking, but the process can be cumbersome for those seeking a quick and strong response. First shift to L before using the gear up/down button on the side of the gear stalk.
So…
The interiors of the 2019 Blazer RS and Premier are full of character. Even the lower trims retain most of what makes the Chevrolet functional and some of what makes it feel special. The Chevrolet isn’t the best value in its class, and the Blazer’s interior isn’t perfect, but the higher trims especially deliver with elements of captivating design.

The automobile might have yet another grille that looks adjusted whatever the opportunity that it features a comparison proportions. It can possess late taillights and gatekeepers equipped and reestablished headlamps.
It is discussed how the 2018 Acura MDX Hybrid Review might have the summarize that could brighten the plan of the new cars. It composed of its type receiving it and a precursor which every other rival have to make an attempt to exceed, however as concentrates arrive now, Honda is on but another path and can not allow anyone pull near. The main exterior operate that may undoubtedly find the attention when observing the 2019 Acura RDX is the curved body platform put together with expansions in the right section of the body.
