Repentance Means More Than Doom and Gloom: How Refreshing!
When you hear the word “repent”, what comes to mind? I always think of a guy holding a sign, urging us all to be sorry for our sins. Peter didn’t have a sign, but he certainly urged people to take action: “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord” (Acts 3:19 NIV) Dramatic Exhortation Peter’s exhortation to onlookers in…

Acts 2:38-47 (NASB1995). “Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.’
And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, ‘Be saved from this perverse generation!’ So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls.
They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need.
Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.”
“A Revolutionary Announcement” By In Touch Ministries:
“Do you believe all things are possible with God?”
“Early accounts of the Lord’s resurrection were treated like idle tales told by desperate individuals. In a way, that’s understandable since most people struggle to believe the impossible. But Pentecost was a new day.
History was made as each person in the crowd heard the gospel in his or her own language (Acts 2:6-11). The assembled throng knew of the Lord and His miracles. Some of those present may have been skeptics who’d joined in shouting, “Crucify Him!” (Matthew 27:22). Yet Peter boldly stated, “God raised [Jesus] from the dead” (Acts 2:24). Here was one of Jesus’ own followers claiming that the Christ couldn’t be held down by death’s power.
The revival sparked by the Holy Spirit that day resulted in 3,000 new believers who underwent baptism—a public declaration that Jesus died for their sins, rose again, and ascended into heaven. They changed communities as they lived out the gospel message of compassion and love. The revolution they started spread across the world and is still going on.
The day of Pentecost is a reminder of God’s sovereignty and grace—He ensures that all people open to the gospel will receive it in a language they can understand. Do you want to be transformed by Jesus’ saving grace? Take a moment to share your thoughts and feelings with Him now.”

Doing the WORD!
Tumblr media
Having received the new birth through a Word of YHVH (Jas_1:18), we should receive it (Jas_1:21) and do it (Jas_1:22).
True belief and faith involves not only hearing but doing (Jas_1:22-27).
The letter from James emphasizes deed over creed, action over profession; and this is the usual Jewish approach to religion, morals and life.
Rev 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

Enforcing Christ's Victory (242) – April 20 2024
Play on other Podcast Apps This program reminds us of the defeat of sickness and disease, as a result of God defeating the devil and his powers of darkness by him being disarmed (Col 2:15). The devil may still have the ability to inflict sickness and disease and other oppressive evil measures against humanity, but he has no authority to do so because of being disarmed by God in Christ, at the…
