Bobby Nash - Achilles Come Down by Gang of Youths (Part 1)
Achilles, Achilles, just put down the bottle Don't listen to what you've consumed It's chaos, confusion and wholly unworthy Of feeding and it's wholly untrue You may feel no purpose nor a point for existing It's all just conjecture and gloom And there may not be meaning, so find one and seize it Do not waste yourself on this roof

on a scale of "today, of all days, see, how the most dangerous thing is to love" to "oh, will wonders ever cease? blessed be the mystery of love", today i'm feeling like "know that i would gladly be the Icarus to your certainty"

Eddie Diaz - Achilles Come Down by Gang of Youths (part 2)
Achilles, Achilles, Achilles, come down Won't you get up off, get up off the roof? You're scaring us and all of us, some of us love you Achilles, it's not much but there's proof You crazy-assed cosmonaut, remember your virtue Redemption lies plainly in truth Just humor us, Achilles, Achilles, come down Won't you get up off, get up off the roof?
Bobby - part one here

when richard siken said "love, for you, is larger than the usual romantic love. it's like a religion. it's terrifying. no one will ever want to sleep with you" and when halsey said "I always knew I was a martyr, and that jesus was one too, but I was built from special pieces that I learnt how unscrew and I will always reassemble to fit perfectly for you or anybody that decides that I'm of use" and when Gang of Youths said "you crave the applause, you hate the attention" and when xana said "now the only ones that know me are my felonies, telling me everyone that's ever loved me is the enemy" and when rina sawayama said "pull me together, thread and needle, so I'm like other people, without all of the evil" and

I've seen people talk about the song "Achilles Come Down" as though the main interpretation of it should be that it's literally about the Trojan War. This gets into tricky situation, because more than five people have decided that the two minor singing parts are Patroclus (who is trying to get Achilles to take care of himself) and Ulysses (who is trying to get Achilles to go back to fighting).
This interpretation falls over itself because it doesn't take into account the fact that Patroclus does try to convince Achilles to fight again. It's in Book 16. He calls Achilles "unpitying" for his refusal to fight on.
"Let Greece at length with pity touch thy breast, Thyself a Greek; and, once, of Greeks the best! Lo! every chief that might her fate prevent, Lies pierced with wounds, and bleeding in his tent: Eurypylus, Tydides, Atreus' son, And wise Ulysses, at the navy groan, More for their country's wounds, than for their own. Their pain soft arts of pharmacy can ease; Thy breast alone no lenitives appease. May never rage like thine my soul enslave, O great in vain! unprofitably brave! Thy country slighted in her last distress, What friend, what man, from thee shall hope redress? No: men unborn, and ages yet behind, Shall curse that fierce, that unforgiving mind. "O man unpitying! if of man thy race— But sure thou spring'st not from a soft embrace, Nor ever amorous hero caused thy birth Nor ever tender goddess brought thee forth. Some rugged rock's hard entrails gave thee form, And raging seas produced thee in a storm, A soul well-suiting that tempestuous kind, So rough thy manners, so untamed thy mind.
