Salah satu protes datang dari organisasi bernama The Battle Cry.

I'm so confused about the Target thing. Everything I've read except Tumblr posts and article headlines says that only products from the company Abprallen were removed because people were angry about "Satanist" imagery.
Which, yes, removing it just for that still seems silly when other faiths are freely represented at stores across the US. Plus removing ANYTHING based on customers literally being straight up terrorist lite to employees gives them a degree of power that emboldens them.
However, I tink it's important to still acknowledge this was one specific brand and not solely related to LGBT content, because nearly every post I see on this topic is making it sound like Target is getting rid of it's eeeeeentire pride display which straight up isn't true, and in itself also emboldens queerphobes in a different way because they enjoy seeing us suffer and freak out and I've seen more than a few on IG commentators ALSO believe they "won" the hilariously stupid go woke go broke fight based on the response and headlines and that they convinced Target to stop displaying any and all pride items.
So correct me if I'm misreading of course- or if there's anything saying they're nuking all their pride displays- but I feel like while yeah they shouldn't be caving at all, there's a lot of sensationalism that's going around that's ultimately counterproductive.

brian cornell’s spineless coward ass going on record talking about how he’s “not afraid of cultural backlash” from transphobes/homophobes re:pride merch and then IMMEDIATELY caving to said quote-unquote “cultural backlash” and the whole debacle causing the stock price to drop so much the company loses $9 billion in value. top 10 biggest target Ls of all time right beside the infamous failed canadian expansion

the target thing is really frustrating to watch because i actually follow abprallen and have for a while and he just put out a statement on his instagram and target straight up pulled his collection and did not alert him, and are not defending him, and have just left him to the wolves. im hesitant to judge lgbt people for working on corporate pride collections bc there is nuance to the issue, this does prove one thing: corporations do not care about us, and never have, and never will. they care about money, they care about press, they care about being palatable. they do not care about us.

Snarky comments about the tide is turning against the TQ+ out of the way it’s not ok to take out disagreement about what Target sells out on its workers.
NEW YORK (AP) — Target is removing certain items from its stores and making other changes to its LGBTQ+ merchandise nationwide ahead of Pride month, after an intense backlash from some customers including violent confrontations with its workers.
“Since introducing this year’s collection, we’ve experienced threats impacting our team members’ sense of safety and well-being while at work,” Target said in a statement Tuesday. ”Given these volatile circumstances, we are making adjustments to our plans, including removing items that have been at the center of the most significant confrontational behavior.”
Target declined to say which items it was removing but among the ones that garnered the most attention were “tuck friendly” women’s swimsuits that allow trans women who have not had gender-affirming operations to conceal their private parts. Designs by Abprallen, a London-based company that designs and sells occult- and satanic-themed LGBTQ+ clothing and accessories, have also created backlash.
The Pride merchandise has been on sale since early May. Pride month is held in June.
Target confirmed that it has moved its Pride merchandise from the front of the stores to the back in some Southern stores after confrontations and backlash from shoppers in those areas.
Target’s Pride month collection has also been the subject of several misleading videos in recent weeks, with social media users falsely claiming the retailer is selling “tuck-friendly” bathing suits designed for kids or in kids’ sizes.
The moves come as beer brand Bud Light is still grappling with a backlash from customers angered by its attempt to broaden its customer base by partnering with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. Bud Light’s parent company said it will triple its marketing spending in the U.S. this summer as it tries to restore sales it lost after the brand partnered with the transgender influencer.
Target and other retailers including Walmart and H&M have been expanding their LGBTQ+ displays to celebrate Pride month for roughly a decade. This year transgender issues — including gender-affirming health care and participation in sports — have been a divisive topic in state legislatures and the backlash has turned hostile.
Since they claimed the allegations of pride mercy aimed at kids was false I’m going to add pics I found from other articles and a TikTok.

Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita (R) announced that he and six other state attorneys general have sent a letter advising Target that their Pride display could violate state laws. The letter accuses Target of violating laws that “protect children from harmful content meant to sexualize them and prohibit gender transitions of children.”
The at-times incomprehensible letter accuses Target of selling Pride gear for kids, promoting products from a brand that sells “Satanist-Inspired” merchandise, and helping GLSEN, an LGBTQ+ youth advocacy group that the attorneys general say has a “purpose of undermining parents’ constitutional and statutory rights by supporting ‘secret gender transitions for kids.'”
In May, it became something of a trend for conservative influencers to record themselves going into Target to express disgust at the store’s LGBTQ+ Pride displays, sometimes vandalizing them or harassing Target employees.
The attorneys’ general letter appears to draw inspiration from those videos, citing some of the products that conservatives were outraged by, including a tucking swimsuit sold in adult sizes, which some conservatives thought would turn kids transgender. The letter also complains about “LGBT-themed onesies, bibs, and overalls,” all products the conservative influencers expressed distaste for. The letter also mentions an adult T-shirt with a drag queen on it.
The letter says that Target carried products with “anti-Christian designs such as pentagrams, horned skulls, and other Satanic products,” citing a Reuters article. The Reuters article, though, doesn’t back the Republicans’ claims and actually says that Target was selling products from the brand Abprallen, which has associated in the past with British designer Erik Carnell, who has sold the above-mentioned Satanic merchandise through his own channels.
While the connection between Target and Carnell doesn’t seem strong enough to include in a letter sent for legal reasons, the idea that Target is selling Satanic products was part of an internet rumor earlier this year. AI-generated images of T-shirts with inverted pentagrams and goat heads and of a store display with a red, goat-headed mannequin were shared on social media last month and caused outrage in conservative Facebook groups, even though the images were fake and the products weren’t really being sold by Target.
The letter states that Target “has no duty to fill stores with objectionable goods, let alone endorse or feature them in attention-grabbing displays at the behest of radical activists.” It says that Target has a duty to its shareholders that it violated because some conservatives said they were boycotting Target on social media and therefore the Pride displays “negatively affected Target’s stock price.”
“It is likely more profitable to sell the type of Pride that enshrines the love of the United States,” the letter states. “Target’s Pride Campaign alienates whereas Pride in our country unites.”
It’s unclear what the legal argument is in the letter since businesses make unprofitable decisions all the time without facing prosecution. The letter says that “as the chief legal officers of our States, we are charged with enforcing state laws protecting children and safeguarding parental rights” including laws that “penalize the ‘sale or distribution… of obscene matter.'” But it doesn’t threaten to prosecute Target or its executives for selling “obscene” rainbow onesies.
Furthermore, it cites Indiana’s recently passed ban on gender-affirming health care for transgender youth, but Target wasn’t selling hormones or puberty blockers in its Pride displays. The gender-affirming healthcare ban doesn’t ban people under the age of 18 from identifying as LGBTQ+.
The letter is signed by Rokita and the attorneys general of Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, and South Carolina. They are all Republicans.
“Transanity doesn’t sell,” Rokita said in announcing the letter. “Let’s all unite around pride in America instead of falling into the trap of dividing along lines of identity politics.”

NEW YORK -- Target is removing some items from its stores and making other changes to its LGBTQ+ merchandise nationwide ahead of Pride month, after an intense backlash from some customers including violent confrontations with its workers.
“Since introducing this year’s collection, we’ve experienced threats impacting our team members’ sense of safety and well-being while at work," Target said in a statement Tuesday. ”Given these volatile circumstances, we are making adjustments to our plans, including removing items that have been at the center of the most significant confrontational behavior."
Target said that customers knocked down Pride displays at some stores, angrily approached workers and posted threatening videos on social media from inside the stores.
Target declined to specify Wednesday which items it was removing but among the ones that garnered the most attention were “tuck friendly” women’s swimsuits that allow trans women who have not had gender-affirming operations to conceal their private parts.
Target's response to confrontations in its stores is taking place as state legislatures introduce a record number of bills targeting LGBTQ+ individuals.
There are close to 500 anti-LGBTQ+ bills that have gone before state legislatures since the start of this year, an unprecedented number, according to the American Civil Liberties Union.
Those efforts focus on health, particularly gender-affirming health care for transgender youth, and education. State legislatures are pushing to prevent discussions in school regarding sexuality and gender identity.
At least 17 states have enacted laws restricting or banning gender-affirming care for transgender minors, though judges have temporarily blocked their enforcement in some, including Arkansas. An Associated Press analysis found that often those bills sprang not from grassroots or constituent demand, but from the pens of a handful of conservative interest groups.
