- MUN STUFF: My name's Kew! She/they, well over 21. No triggers. I don't have DID, any attempt to portray it is based on the show/comics. I only speak English fluently and any other language will be google translate. Please forgive any mistakes!

- MINORS BE WARNED: I'm not going to be super strict about weeding out minors since I don't expect things to get NSFW around here, but the show Khonshu is from does explore some darker themes for a TV-14 show. I dunno. You've been warned.

- GENERAL RP ETIQUETTE APPLIES: Don't make actions for my character without asking, don't assume past relationships/deep history without asking, don't read my character's mind (unless your character is a telepath, and even then I don't know if that works on gods), etc. - GENERAL CONTENT WARNING FOR: Descriptions of violence, religious stuff, swearing, emotional manipulation, a.bleism (especially surrounding mental health stuff.) I’ll try to tag other things as they come up. - FEEL FREE TO REBLOG MEMES FROM ME. It actually helps me remember to send stuff out. You can also reblog art/headcanons, pretty much anything except RP threads if you're not the other party!

- NOT PRIVATE, BUT SELECTIVE: I sometimes don't follow big multimuses back since I have pretty strict tastes in fandoms, and I don't want to clog my dash with characters I don't know. That doesn't mean I don't want to roleplay with you though! As for selectivity, I reserve the right to say no if things just don't click writing-wise.

- SPOILERS FOR MOON KNIGHT EVERYWHERE. There will be untagged spoilers for both the comics and especially the show. I highly recommend watching the Moon Knight TV show if you haven’t seen it! It got me into comic books and made me interested in the MCU. - That said, I haven’t seen all of the content in the MCU, not even a third of it, so I’m sorry if I get any lore details wrong.

- KHONSHU IS AN ASSHOLE. Nothing he says reflects my real views about anything. If he’s mean to you, it doesn’t mean I don’t like you or you’ve done something wrong.

- FOR OTHER MARC/STEVEN/JAKE MUSES: By default, I'll play Khonshu like he's connected to your Marc/Steven/Jake. If you want it to be dimension-hopping shenanigans (which I'm super down to do, especially for ones more heavily based on the comics) you'll have to let me know! All these interactions will be on different verses, and I don't plan to have Khonshu be 'mains' with any muses.

- FIGHTS: With extremely rare exceptions, I'm just gonna say no to fight threads with Khonshu. Partly because he's incorporeal and really can't be hurt or hurt anyone else directly. Mostly because fighting other muses has always stressed me out. If it's something you really want to do, we can talk about it. (This doesn't mean your character can't attack Khonshu ever, it just means it probably won't work.)

☽ MUSE INFO ☾

NAME: Khonshu OTHER NAMES: Chons, Bloody pigeon, Silly old bird (He accepts none of those) PRONOUNS: He/him HEIGHT: Varies, usually around 8-10 feet tall. WEIGHT: N/A (Incorporeal, like a ghost) AGE: Has existed since the dawn of time, so who knows.

- KHONSHU is the Egyptian god of the moon, vengeance, healing and time, among other smaller things. While he is enormously powerful in theory, he’s mostly unable to affect the physical world without use of a mortal AVATAR, dubbed his MOON KNIGHT. Those who agree to be his Avatar are granted superpowers and near-invulnerability, in exchange for agreeing to carry out his mission: Bringing vengeance against those who harm his travelers of the night.

- Khonshu is also somehow a billions-year-old grumpy baby who flips over trash cans when he doesn’t get his way.

- By default, Khonshu's current Avatar is JAKE LOCKLEY, and only Jake Lockley. But, he can also be played before the events of the show, when he (technically) has the triple threat of Jake Lockley, MARC SPECTOR, and STEVEN GRANT.

- Jake will make occasional cameos on this blog, but I wouldn't call this a dual muse. (You can request him in asks if you want.)

- Normally, only his Avatar (or Avatars of other gods) are capable of seeing/hearing Khonshu, but let’s say this blog is a holy space where he can answer your prayers questions. (In threads, we can always BS a reason your character can see Khonshu.)

- This Khonshu is HEAVILY BASED ON THE TV SHOW, which means he lacks a lot of the harsher history his comic book counterpart has. That said, as a god, he is aware of the multiverse and has at least a rough idea of what his counterparts are up to. You can ask about comic stuff, he just might have a different opinion.

- Some comic lore has been added/built upon, namely his fraught history with his father, AMON-RA. (This probably won’t come up much, but it does inform a lot of how I play the character.)

Can Khonshu see literally everything that happens under the moon or just in Egypt?

Yes, Marc is a protector but he is also a trauma holder. He protects the system from things they cannot handle but he also carries traumatic experiences and memories the system can't handle. He may be strong and protective but he's also vulnerable and deeply traumatized. He has no self worth or self respect, going to great lengths to protect others but never himself. He's self destructive and impulsive and often lacks stability. He dwells on negative thoughts and spirals in them. He may be a protector but he still needs protection.

And the system does protect him. Steven protects Marc by giving him an escape from the constant pain and trauma of his life. Jake protects Marc from his own self destruction when he feels his life isn't worth anything or he can't go on.

I like to think that if Steven ever becomes a tour guide at a museum every time he gets to the alters/statues/art/what have you of Khonshu, he always says in this super chipper voice and this is my very good friend Khonshu! And all the little kids are like wow you’re friends with the moon god?? And Steven’s like you bet I am! in the most disgustingly cheerful voice ever.

But he’s not.

So I just read up on the FAQ since I got all caught up after being addicted to your comic for two weeks and I have to ask -

If Steven's gem is the size of his entire skull as a teenager, how did it fit inside his head as a baby? Did the gem start small and then grow with him?

Headcanons:

Like the suit itself, the weapon Khonshu gives his Knights seems to be tied to the subconscious in some way. (Like how Steven's 'healing armor' manifests as a literal suit because that's what he envisioned when he tried summoning it.) It's very rare that people are signed up to be his Avatar with a specific signature weapon in mind, so it's very much vibe-based. Like Khonshu gets a vague prompt and works off it. Marc: Ranged option to complement his already-strong short-range combat skills, and sharp aim. It not being a gun was probably more of a Khonshu decision. Something more flashy and heroic-looking, Marc not just feeling like the same old mercenary in a silly outfit with a still-shitty-but-in-magical-new-ways boss. (Even though that's pretty much exactly what the gig was.) Steven: Something that requires no explanation and is non-lethal. ... At least in theory. The truncheons in the MCU show look like they're made of stone and metal, so Steven absolutely could kill someone with those. But, well, thought that counts. Jake: Prefers to fight with his fists, and doesn't really want or need something like brass knuckles to give him an advantage. (Although moon-shaped knuckledusters to complement the moon gloves is such a good thought that maybe he can have those too.) As such his weapon is more utility. Something versatile with uses outside of combat, like mobility or holding something in place, keeping someone from running. For the Jake on this blog, that's a set of grappling hooks. Harrow: I imagine Harrow's weapon was also a staff, similar to the cane Ammit gave him as a replacement. Maybe weighted at the top to act like a blackjack, maybe with a sword hidden inside. All this leading up to the real reason I started thinking about this - Could Khonshu give out a moon-branded gun as a weapon? And the answer is yes, definitely. He probably has before. (Looking at you, Moon Cowboy.)

Yes it's been two years but I'm having MCU Moon Knight feelings about Jake Lockley again

Jake absolutely asked out Steven's coworker for him. Marc is married he wouldn't think of it but Jake was absolutely like listen someone needs to get Steven a date. I go back and forth between "he forgot Steven was vegetarian until after he suggested the steak restaurant" and "Jake thinks Steveo needs to eat some red meat so he did it on purpose"

Initially I thought Marc was the one meticulously making everything back how Steven had left it for his anti-sleepwalking alarms but I can absolutely see Marc exhausted from Moon Knight Business collapsing on the bed after a long night, and Jake getting back up because SOMEBODY needs to be the responsible one and feed the fish and wash the blood off their hands and fix the sand circle around the bed

With that being said, Jake was absolutely fronting after Steven woke up with the scarab in the mountains. Khonshu keeps trying to get Marc and instead is stuck in a Steven/Jake loop because Marc needs a goddamn nap

After Marc and Steven had their emotional arc of accepting one another and Jake was stuck in that one sarcophagus I bet Khonshu was real eager to go whispering in his ear. God of the Moon Mr gaslight gatekeep girlboss himself driving a wedge between Jake and the other alters because then he still gets to keep his Moon Knight. Or maybe even Jake knowing that if he does Khonshu's dirty work, he might leave Marc and Steven out of it

Long story short I would love a season 2 so we can learn more about Jake in this iteration I want to see beyond just the moments of violence that are implied by the space he leaves behind.
