Steven and Neurodivergency

Neurotypicals will never understand just how exciting and amazing it feels to have good autistic/neurodivergent rep. When i found out that Oscar saw and played Steven as autistic it made me feel so seen and happy.

Especially since he's a superhero AND (sort of) "gets the girl" at the end; two things that very rarely happen with autistic characters.

And even though Oscar is NT himself, i think he did such a wonderful job of representing us/me, as i see myself in Steven a lot. It makes me happy to watch him, and i feel like i can relate to him a lot more, instead of him just being the "quirky nerdy comic relief."

MKsystem and Hyperfixations

We're all aware of Steven's fixation on Ancient Egypt, but what about the other two? (Can't have just one autistic alter in a system).

Marc's: Astronomy. He'd have some books stacked on Steven's desk. Random space/NASA magnets would litter the fridge, and maybe there'd even be a small telescope set up at their window.

Jake's: Cars. Definitely a ton of Hot Wheels cars still in their packets carefully placed on shelves... and he'd probably have even more if Marc and Steven gave him the chance. Random pictures of cars he'd seen on the street in their phone gallery.

Once they're all aware of each other, they'd start making the apartment more their's, instead of just Steven's.

Beyond a blank slate reader

Hello everyone! There's been some wonderful discussions about inclusivity in the PPCU recently and I highly encourage them to keep on! A lot of it how certain phrases can code a reader as white, like "you blushed" etc. It's important to try and make your reader as inclusive as possible!

But I wanted to share some stories that aren't just a blank slate reader, but are my attempt to make people not only not feel excluded, but specifically included.

A lot of this is stuff i wrote because I wanted to see myself, like jewish or transmasc readers, in fics. Others I wrote because I want others to have that same feeling. That not only can you put yourself in the story, but you can actually see it clearly there.

I'll be honest, this came after getting an anon calling me not one but two slurs (three? They repeated one with a shortened version lol) and I wanted to be EVEN MORE LOUD about writing trans characters. i figured why not highlight all sorts of things that readers might like to read that are hard to find!

I've also included anything I think is under represented, like Boston!Joel with no age gap reader, or plus sized readers.

Below will be fics with readers and OC's with different gender identities, race, ethnicity, religion, and disabilties.

Most are Pedro Pascal and Oscar Isaac, but there's some with the other triple frontier boys <3

And to be clear, there is NOTHING wrong with a blank slate. MOST of what I write is blank slate. But you can absolutly be descriptive as long as you are tagging properly! And you can write for more than just no descripters. I am white, but I have no desire to only ever write white characters. We can all branch out and learn.

I've asked this before, what representation specifically do YOU want to see? Drop in my inbox, and I'll consider it, as going forward I think I'm more interested in x oc rather than x reader.

Last year I tried to compile a list of explicitly non-white fics by other writers and only got two people replying so it didnt go anywhere, but I'm going to try again this weekend! That way I can highlight not just myself.

Putting this at the bottom because it's my baby and i know I promo it a lot so I wanted to give people a chance to see the other stuff.

Leather and Lace universe started with Just writing the series leather and Lace. I wasn't ready to let go of the characters i created, so I branched off with Frankie and Jana's story. now it's an anthology.

Each series can be read seperately, but are best all together because there are side arches. Each series is a different TF boy and their OC, each OC is wildly varied.

Please be mindful of warnings of each. heavy themes of domestic violence, rape, addiction, and child abuse are present.

Leather and Lace: Santiago Garcia x oc, Laci. The Tf boys find laci in Colombia, a victim of sex trafficking and they rescue her. She's deeply traumatized, but Santi is there to help her every step. Santi is coded to be autistic and is non-verbal often (more in the begining, she talks more as her anxiety eases.) and she has severe PTSD.

Take Your Time: Francisco Morales x oc, Jana. frankie is struggling to stay sober. Despite his attempts to push people away, Jana won't allow him to lose himself in addiction and depression, for his own and for their daughter's sake. Jana is a bisexual icon, and Afro-latina.

For the Longest Time: William Miller x OC, Lorelei. Lorelei and Will keep accidentally meeting. Suspicious and often judgmental, Lorelei is hesitant to let Will and his friends in. She learns she can trust them, and they learn she has a heart of gold and is the most loyal friend you could have. Lorelei is Vietnamese.

Coming soon... No Surrender: Ben Miller x oc, Cam. Join the tag list! Stuck in an abusive relationship and drinking heavily, Ben is just trying to get through this harvest and sell the family farm. Will calls in the only person he thinks can help his brother. Cam is Scottish and part Vietnamese (1/4), and has a hearing aid.

Isaac knew he wasn’t the brightest tool in the shed. He knew sports and lifting and flirting. Those were things he was best at. He also knew how to get things he wanted, and this time he needed information. More precisely tech info. All the Bros were planning April Fools jokes on each other and he didn’t want to be left out. Flashing his smile and plying the right people with just the right amount of drinks did the trick. The info was highly classified and technical but he thought he’d be able to pull it off.

Isaac had to be quick but he knew this would work. Breaking into the hive base could be risky. Isaac was told what conduit the drones program files were located in and what he needed to do to achieve his desired effect. Once inside though he got lost. Did he make a left or right at the second conduit?  He tried right and after proceeding a little bit he knew he made the right choice. He found the junction box he was looking for. Plugging in the flash drive that a tech Bro had made for him (after quite a few drinks and more then just his smile) he was done and made his quick escape unnoticed.

Once back at home he noticed PDU-039 was his usual stoic self.  How’s your day been going, Sir?” Issac asked “Uneventful” 039 replied. “How was your day, Isaac?” 039 inquired. “Uneventful” Isaac joked. After some small talk Isaac went up to change for dinner. He was feeling like his mission was a failure. While upstairs Isaac thought he heard a radio playing but upon running down he saw his April fools’ joke had worked. 039 program files had been changed to make him think he was Ariana Grande and he was now in costume singing “I feel Pretty” in the middle of the living room. Isaac laughed and laughed. He also took some videos. After a few hours, Isaac got tired and asked 039 about going to bed. 039 replied "I have a big show tour coming up and I need to practice” Isaac gave up and left 039 singing “The boy is mine” as he went up to bed.

Upon awaking Isaac didn’t hear any singing from down stairs. Everything seemed quiet. The Tech Bro he got the flash drive from said the effects would only last for an hour or two before the program would detect the corrupt code and delete it. Isaac figured 039 would be recharged and back to normal.  Upon entering the living room though Isaac was shocked to see 039 dressed in an odd fashion, as Glinda from Wicked. “Isaac, my boy, I am done practicing for the tour but I realized I need to prepare for the “Wicked 2” tour and my Oscar acceptance speech for next year."

Isaac quickly left the house thinking “the Tech Bro did say an hour or two, right? Or was it a day or two? I don’t think he said a week or two???????? And the tech Bro also said this would just effect 039 what if…no It couldn’t…….could it?????
