I need all of you to look at Vale's Misano 2020 helmet real quick.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yep. That little blue pill is Viagra. With one pill already missing from the blister pack.
Apparently the "La Doppia" refers to the double header San Marino GP that took place due to the pandemic regulations, and also just a reference to "second rounds" I suppose. Aldo Drudi, Vale's long time collaborator and helmet designer said that the viagra was a reference to how he was an old man at 40 and would need some extra energy for the double race.
Apparently when Vale set the fastest lap during FP3 of the Misano GP, the commentators talked about how he was "riding hard".
Tumblr media
Also because he's a cheeky little fuck he posted on his ig about how his Mugello 2021 helmet announcing Francesca's pregnancy with their daughter was a natural progression of the Misano 2020 Viagra helmet. It's stupid but who else would dare to do something like this.

the way armand says the name "arun" twice when he's recounting his backstory, first with the emphasis on the 'u', which is the anglocised/americanised pronunciation, and then he considers it and says it again with the emphasis on the 'a', which is more in line with middle eastern and south asian name pronunciations & is therefore probably how it was supposed to be pronounced.... aaaaaaa

i really lucked out with amc casting an asian man as armand because now i can use his origins and backstory as an excuse to exercise my obsession with asian histories on a centuries old vampiric character 🙏🙏 yayyyy

Sometimes it really fucks with my head when I use south Asian history to put into context just how fucking old Armand is.
Like okay he says he’s from Delhi. He’s way way wayyyy older than New Delhi (late 19th century/early twentieth depending on whether you count the land acquisition or the official founding of it.)
Hell there’s even a Mughal made district in the city called Old Delhi/Purani Dilli and despite being Old Delhi he’s ALSO older than that. Because initially Old Delhi was called Shajahanabad. Named after the emperor who commissioned the Taj Mahal. The great-great-grandson of the guy who conquered a lot of that area of South Asian a few years after Armand would have been abducted away from the era.
I’m trying to figure out what the area was called before it was Shahjahanabad because it’s been inhabited for ages. It was part of the Delhi sultanate so maybe people just called it Delhi? Idk.
I’m not really trying to make an profound statements here but … man. No wonder he says Dubai is a child lol

chapelle's show the racial draft, but its the cast of interview with the vampire being auctioned and the bidding parties are all south asian factions. will the vampire armand be claimed by the bengali underground slam poet community of kolkata who like his angelic melancholy aura, or the ruthless MBA students at IBA-DU who approve of his wealth management

Summary
"Echoes in the Valley"  is a tale of healing, resilience, and the transformative power of human connection, reminding us that even in our darkest moments, love has the power to illuminate our path forward.
Echoes in the Valley by bonsaiwrites.
Our protagonist, Sakhi, in a chance of faith, finds herself on a solo journey to the snowy mountains of Kashmir, on her way to meet her online friend, Pihu, for the first time in person.
Her journey is filled with both wonderment at the view around her and the sense of kinship she feels with the people she meets on this journey, including the handsome stranger she met on the train a few days ago.
This is a story about a chance encounter that lead to a once in a lifetime kind of friendship, and friends that, with time, eventually become like family.
Its about finding yourself in a completely new place, surrounded by strangers. looking around and realizing your not alone because these people who you hadn't even known the name of a few days ago have provided you with their friendship, their understanding, and the sense of belonging you had been searching for.

the constant struggle of being an armand lover, linguist, and writer who has lived in san francisco and delhi who also only likes to write short, introspective fics that are very fact checked (which it turns out is difficult to do when the facts range three continents and 500+ years)

like listen. there's this thing that leslie feinberg says about how you don't have to do anything alone - the only thing you have to do alone is deciding what's important to you, and then it's just a matter of finding like minded people and getting organised. and that's true. and its also true that its probably going to be mostly boring and dificult work, cus getting organised takes a lot of admin and communication and outreach, and probably what it will look like is linking up with a local activist group, and then forgetting for a year, and then going along to one of their strategy meetings and then standing on a streetcorner leafleting for half an hour a week around your day job. helping to find an achievable target, a vulnerable local piece of the neocolonial machine, and figuring out where and how to apply pressure. helping to brainstorm around dead ends, maybe helping with the art or writing for a pamphlet or a poster or a banner, doing resource management, working with people who are in their 50s and get the pronouns thing right maybe 65% of the time-- eventually the mass movement will come but it needs groundwork and infrastructure and prep, and you've just got to do it or we're so fucked.
