Took a good 3 Hours and 14 minutes due to me being on and off of this drawing. But other than the water reflection, I think this drawing also turned out great.

A scuttled boat in 1966 now lives out her days in this lonely boatyard in Frankfurt, Germany and has a garden made by Mother Earth herself on the roof.

The poignant sight of an abandoned boat, succumbing to the elements and a degree of vandalism. This stretch of the Avon does seem to attract boats that have seen better days but, are lived in by people who would otherwise be homeless as a result of the chronic shortage of affordable housing in nearby Bristol. That can include boats as small as this one. Given the hazards of flooding on the Avon during the winter, opting to live on a boat that has seen better days is not a lifestyle choice, it's a case of desperate necessity:(

Aesthetics: Old, Abandoned Boats

The first boats clearly defined the fall zone, rippling on the water, caked with dirt and filings of iron collected over the years from the rumbling bridge. The bill for the stoppage of these boats condemned them to abandonment.

MS World Discoverer was a German expedition cruise ship. It hit an uncharted reef in the Sandfly Passage 29. April 2000. The hole was too big to get it repaired on the spot, so all the guests were taken ashore. A few hours later the captain ran the ship full speed on ground in Rodrick bay. (via sv_manjana)
