Summary: Shrimper Louis is dredging in the bayou dough one evening, when hearing a distress call from a nearby vessel. He drops everything to assist the newest captain in the rinky dink Ragin’ Cajuns fleet, Lestat de Lioncourt. Sparks fly, but it's White Shrimp season in the Gulf states and time, like the shrimp, is gold. Bets have been made and friendly competition is high, to see who brings in the most shrimp by season's end. But lately the body count is rising almost as fast as their fishing quotas and the bayou is steeped in suspicion, ever leery of giving up her secrets. If the fleet can figure out who or what is behind the murders then no matter who wins the season, Louis and Lestat might just find the best catch of all.

When Rover awoke on that new world, the first thing he'd seen was a heated glare.

Alright, maybe “glare” wasn't the right word. It was moreso wariness, or distrust. Narrowed eyes, hostile and defensive body language, and hands hovering above where he assumed was their weapons holster - it was obvious that to the locals, he was an unwelcomed guest.

He'd barely regained enough consciousness to comprehend the language - their words were twisted, alien, yet he could somehow still understand them - before he was barraged with an onslaught of interrogations: Who was he? Why was he here? What were his intentions? Why was he alone?

And of course, when faced with all of these questions, his recently wiped mind went blank - that tends to happen when you have amnesia. Unfortunately for him, that answer wasn't exactly satisfactory. It was painfully obvious from their expressions that no one believed him when he explained that he didn't remember anything, not even his own name.

The redhead was the most aggressive - Rover was sure she would've already started getting physical had her companion, a darker-haired woman dressed in blue, not kept her in line. While the others weren't exactly kind to him, they still remained civil… or at least, as civil as they were willing to be.

In the end, the third woman, this one with sharp eyes and presumably the medic of the group, managed to convince the other two that Rover was telling the truth after a brief examination. It was then, and only then that the interrogations stopped, and Rover could finally have some time to himself as the three women discussed what to do with him.

As the details of their conversation faded into the background (he heard a lot of fancy terms that he wasn't familiar with), Rover decided to take a look around.

He'd landed in the middle of a forest, which didn't strike him quite right - out of everything, the one thing he clearly remembered was being underwater. But as he surveyed his surroundings, only looming cliffs, thin trees and swaying grass greeted him.

He winced, his head throbbing suddenly. A stabbing sensation struck through his head like a bullet, and then there was warmth, spreading through his body like sunlight.

“..ey. Hey!”

Rover blinked. The redhead planted her hands on her hips, irritation evident from her scowl.

“We’ve decided what to do with you,” the woman in blue said softly, holding an arm in front of the redhead to calm her.

Rover tilted his head innocently, prompting her to continue.

“We'll take you to the city,” explained the medic. Her voice was just as frigid as her gaze. “There, the officials will examine and determine whether or not you're a threat.”

“I’m-” Rover started, but caught himself. “Okay.”

The medic nodded, then bent down on her knees. Noticing her outstretched hand, Rover realized she was offering to help him up.

He stumbled as she pulled him to his feet. His legs felt like jelly, pins and needles pricking at him as they slowly woke up. For a second, he'd thought he'd fall over.

But then the warmth came again, and this time, with a voice.

“Steady. Easy does it.”

Sudden strength surged into his legs, and he stabilized himself, the pins and needles fading away.

“There you go.”

He looked up as if expecting someone to be there, but predictably, all that met him was a vast blue sky.

“Are you looking for me?” He heard the voice laugh, a clear, bell-like sound. “Maybe do that later, you're making yourself look funny.”

With a start, he realized that the voice was right. The three women were giving him weird looks, and his hand was still intertwined with the medic’s.

Hastily, he yanked his hand away, a sheepish chuckle escaping him as he rubbed the back of his neck. The redhead scoffed.

“Yangyang, this guy’s got a screw loose or something…” she muttered to the woman dressed in blue. Yangyang sighed in agreement, turning on her heel and walking away.

“Bear with it for a bit, Chixia,” she replied. “We'll drop him off at the City Hall, and they'll take it from there.”

Chixia didn't look happy with that, but she relented nevertheless.

“Wow.”

Rover flinched as the voice spoke again, this time closer to his ear.

“They do not like you at all, do they?”

Obviously not, Rover thought incredulously, but can you blame them?

He'd noticed it a while ago - the three were clearly on edge. Something was going on on this planet, something bad. Having an unpredictable factor such as him probably wasn't helping.

“Good point.”

So you can hear my thoughts. Rover huffed as he pulled himself up a cliff, vines scratching at his arms. The route the locals had decided to take wasn't a kind one.

“Well, yeah. How else are we supposed to have our super-secret confidential shittalking sessions?”

Rover paused. What?

“Don't worry about it.”

No, what'd you say-

“I said don't worry about it. Now keep climbing, they're leaving you behind.”

Easy for you to say, Rover thought indignantly, but did as the voice said nevertheless. He quickly caught up to the group, the medic raising a brow as he fell into step beside her. Thankfully, she didn't say anything and only kept her gaze straight ahead.

“Hey, I'm not the one who's being marched to officials for an inspection. And I don't have a reputation I need to maintain.”

Rover hated to admit it, but the voice had a point.

What are you, anyway? He walked past a small pond filled with fish. His hands twitched with the urge to jump in and grab some, but his first impressions were already bad enough as is.

“I'm God, actually.”

Rover deadpanned, unimpressed.

“Jeez, tough crowd.” The voice shifted, moving from his right to his left ear. “But seriously though, I'm human, just like you.”

If you were, I'd be able to see you.

“Fair enough,” the voice mused. “But I really am human. I just… happened to wake up invisible and connected to you.”

Rover grunted as he vaulted over yet another cliff. Very convincing.

“Says you.” He could practically hear them rolling their eyes. “At least I remember what my name is.”

That one hurt more than Rover would've liked to admit.

“...Sorry.” Quieter now, almost meek. “That was out of line.”

Rover closed his eyes briefly, breathing in as subtly as he could before opening them again.

It's fine. You didn't say anything false.

“It was still insensitive.”

Rover sped up. It happens to the best of us.

The voice went quiet, leaving Rover to the slight howl of the wind and the sound of boots crunching against sand. But they hadn't left entirely, no - Rover could feel a presence to his left, subtle but impossible to ignore.

“So you don't remember your name, huh?” Chixia said suddenly.

“No,” Rover muttered.

“Guess that just means we'll have to give you one. Or I could just keep calling you ‘Weirdo’ in my head.”

Rover’s eye twitched. “Let's not.”

Chixia grinned back at him, but the smile didn't ease his nerves at all - on the contrary, it made them worse.

“Why not? I think it's pretty fitting.”

“Chixia,” Yangyang warned, which Rover was grateful for. Had he retaliated, things wouldn't have ended well for him.

Chixia shrugged, crossing her arms behind her head as she sauntered off.

“I must apologize for her.” Yangyang turned to him. To his surprise, she seemed genuine. “Chixia usually isn't that rude, it's just that, well…”

She trailed off, uncertain on how to continue. Rover shook his head.

“It's fine,” he assured. “I can tell that you're all anxious.”

Yangyang’s shoulders slumped. “Is it that obvious? But… yes, you're right. Life hasn't exactly been calm as of late, with Tacet Fields appearing left and right.”

“Tacet Fields?” Rover repeated, tilting his head.

“It's easier to demonstrate than to explain,” the medic cut in, stepping forward as the cliffs and trees opened up. Rover followed her gaze to a darkened field, corrupted by dark matter and with a star-shapped scar at the center.

Abyss-like creatures prowled the corrupted zone, covered in dark armor, scales, and/or fur. They spoke to one another in gargled gibberish with voices that sent chills down Rover's spine.

“Those are Tacet Discords,” Yangyang explained. “They’re born from the distorted frequencies that result from the Tacet Field.”

“Ew.”

Welcome back, Rover greeted, to which the voice didn't respond.

“They're ugly,” they commented instead, scrutinizing the Tacet Discords one by one. Rover silently agreed. “But there's a few pretty ones I can see, like that wolf.”

Rover stared at said wolf's sharp canines and ravenous glare. Pretty… isn't what I would call them, but suit yourself.

“There’s a whole swarm of them out there,” Chixia observed, breaking through their conversation. She stretched her arms as if preparing for battle. “Can't get to the city without getting through them first.”

“Hm…” Yangyang contemplated to herself, before looking up at Rover. “Say, uhm…”

She hesitated, not knowing what to call him.

“Rover.”

His mouth moved on its own as his voice mixed with the voice's. Yangyang blinked, startled.

“I… I thought you didn't remember your name.”

“I don't,” Rover spoke without meaning to, like a puppet on strings. “It just… came to mind.”

Yangyang didn't look convinced, but she let it go.

“Alright, then, Rover, do you know how to fight?”

The feeling of being puppeteered left him as the voice became separate once more.

“Yes,” he said, trying to keep his voice steady.

What the hell was that?

Yangyang smiled. “Good, because we'll need to clear that Tacet Field before reaching the city.”

He nodded, understanding the implications. “I'll do my best to fight alongside you.”

“I don't know what that was,” the voice replied, and sure enough, they too sounded unsure. “I just did what the system told me to.”

The system? Rover questioned, but received no answer.

Rover heard a pistol click behind him as Chixia readied herself. “Don't try anything funny,.”

“I won't.” Operating on instinct, Rover drew a blade of his own. Chixia chuckled.

“We'll see about that.”

One by one, the group jumped off the cliff, deploying a glider so as to land safely below. Rover was the last to go. As his feet skidded at the edge of the cliff, sending pebbles flying down, unease swirled in his gut.

“Hey,” the voice said gently. “Don't worry. I'll help you out.”

What… Rover furrowed his brows, frustrated at how little he knew. What are you?

“Like I said, I'm just another person who ended up stranded here. I have a feeling we're going to be stuck together for a while, so I suggest you get used to me.”

Then, Rover sighed, at least give me a name. You said you remembered yours.

The voice paused.

“[Name],” it finally said, the name foreign to Rover's ears. “That's my name.”

“[Name],” he murmured, feeling it roll off his tongue. “We should get going, the others are waiting. You said you'd help me, right?”

“Yep. Just jump off the cliff and extend your left hand up to glide.”

Rover paused. Aren't these called intrusive thoughts?

“Just do it.”

Taking a deep breath, Rover looked down at the jump before him nervously. Closing his eyes and mentally praying to whatever god was listening that he wouldn't end up a black puddle on the forest floor, he lept.

Mechanical wings unfolded above him in a series of clicks and whirrs, a handle extending down for him to grab onto like his life depended on it. Peeking open his eyes, he let out a sigh of relief, feeling a small breeze brush against his face.

“See?” Although not obvious, relief bled into [Name]’s words as Rover landed safely on his feet. “You can trust me.”

A small smile slipped onto Rover's face, the first since he'd woken up.

“I guess I can.”

The glider folded in on itself, replaced by his blade as he joined the others.

“Took you long enough,” Chixia commented, but for the first time, it wasn't with ill intent.

“Sorry,” Rover replied. “But I'm here now.”

“Enough chitchat,” Yangyang called up ahead. “They've noticed us.”

Sure enough, the Tacet Discords were turning towards them, snarls twisting where he assumed their mouths were. The corruption worsened, dark energy forming in black smoke.

“Let's see what you're made of, Rover,” said Chixia, expertly spinning her pistols. Yangyang had already drawn her sword, and Baizhi, the medic, had summoned a pearly dragon-like creature to fight alongside her. [Name] didn't say anything, but he could feel their energy beginning to seep into his muscles, ready to aid him in battle.

Rover pointed his blade towards the Tacet Discords.

“Let's go.”

Hello! I just wanted to say that I love your Spade Pirate Sabo au so much!! Tage's design is great, it really fits a free but lonely and directionless adventurer! With a mask, a hat that hides his eyes and layered clothes that make it hard to tell what his figure and intentions are!

It's really interesting that he doesn't have a concrete goal, because Sabo's original dream wasn't really a dream too! I mean compared to Ace and Luffy whose dreams are full of ambition, Sabo just... wants to be free and writing a book - keeping a log - is practically a given for normal pirates. I think that with or without memories his journey would've been that of self-discovery! -w- Can't wait to see what Tage's story (and his relationship with Ace n Luffy 😔) will come to!

I’m glad you enjoy tage’s visual design! I put a decent bit of thought into it so knowing that it comes across clearly is really nice :D

In early drafts of his design I actually included his goggles but I eventually took them out because I thought it might be obvious. The idea was definitely to give him a design that would primarily make him unrecognizable to Ace and secondarily look completely different from how he looks in canon while still being recognizable to people as him

I was especially proud of how the silhouettes turned out because I think getting rid of that sort of thin streamlined silhouette that his revolutionary outfit has and giving him a slightly flatter shape and baggier clothes gives him a very different vibe but still maintains the general elements pretty well, like the rigid rectangular shape of the hat and such.

Also yeah I love thinking about how Sabo’ dream before becoming a revolutionary is so tame compared to his brothers’,,, like really all he wanted was to be free at that point and if you don’t let him become a revolutionary but let him obtain his freedom it’s so interesting to think about what he’d do already having achieved that very attainable “dream”.

RW Headcanon: "Pebbsie Privilege"

Here’s a headcanon I’ve had in the works for a while, and now I finally want to share it! It's shorter than some of my others, but I hope you'll still find it amusing!

So firstly (and I plan to expand on this more later) I headcanon Five Pebbles is someone who cares a lot about his appearance, though not in a prissy or snooty sense and more in a “likes being the smartest and most sophisticated one in the room” sense. That means, more so than the average person, he generally doesn’t like being teased, ignored, belittled, condescended to, or otherwise disrespected, and very understandably so if you ask me! But it also means there exists a very special ability when it comes to interacting with Five Pebbles that almost no characters have. 

It’s no more than the ability of someone to refer to Five Pebbles as “Pebbsie” while he’s in earshot without getting death-glares from him. Looks to the Moon, who first started using it, affectionately calls this ability “Pebbsie privilege”, and she ends up being one of the only characters who has it (besides Innocence, who in my portrayals eventually gets it too). Though even so, Pebbles originally got rather flustered when she called him that alone, much less in front of others, considering it's definitely a very cutesy nickname. In fact, poor Pebbles really didn’t like being called “Pebbsie” because one of his least favorite ways of being treated is like a child (which includes being thought of as "cute" in any way). This unfortunately happens to him a lot though since he’s part of the newest iterator generation and tends to have lots of uncommon ideas rarely taken seriously by the older models, and this treatment only amplified as he grew more stubborn and arrogant. 

To elaborate on the origin, Moon developed the nickname pretty much on an impulse — quite a rare thing for her to act on actually — of wanting to hearken more to her role as “Big Sis Moon” and show love to her little brother. Soon after she started using it though Pebbles would pull her into private chats and urge her to drop it to save his dignity. Not wanting to hurt her brother in any way, it didn’t take long before she apologized and stopped using it, and basically got her "Pebbsie privilege" revoked. In the current time she secretly still likes calling him that in her mind, but knowing how much he dislikes it she always feels pretty guilty afterwards, despite them being no more than thoughts at that point. While not a major issue in-and-of itself, this situation was actually a small step in worsening a long-time fear Moon has, though that’s a headcanon for another day…

On a (marginally) more positive note however, after Moon’s collapse and the worsening of Five Pebbles’s rot, along with him generally reminiscing about the things he used to have (as part of yet more character headcanons I’ll elaborate on some other time), he actually began to grow fond of the nickname more and more. Yet he also couldn’t also shake the growing heartache the memories brang, as he came to see it as a reminder of his sister’s never-ending love for him and the better times he now regretted taking for granted and trying so hard to escape. While I headcanon he handles it differently in Downpour’s canon, in the worm-off-the-string AU story I’ve got so far, Moon slowly regaining her “Pebbsie privilege” and Pebbles appreciating it and no longer taking it so seriously (though he still forbids its usage in public) could serve as a small, yet sweet indicator of character growth for both of them.

Aaaand another RW headcanon done! I wanna mention, though, now that I’ve got more of an idea for the aforementioned AU I really want to start posting more of my headcanons for the Local Group, since the character interactions, histories, and ultimate character growth is perhaps one of the most important elements of that story so far. I’ve spent at least a couple weeks creating almost 40 pages worth of character notes, and while this particular one started out as just a little side-headcanon, I ended up tying it into all of that. Hopefully I can start sharing the main parts of these headcanons soon!

7. Hello! I was hoping you could help me find a fic, I don’t remember much of it. But i remember it took place during wei yings time in gusu in the cloud recess arc. i could be wrong on some details but from my memory it has the lans finding out about some negative aspect of wei yings life in yunmeng and the abusive treatment he dealt with. he is then welcome in cloud recesss bc they see how smart and kind he is. i remember specifically there was an oc that was a lan elder who was very un-lan like. he was very loud very much what u would expect from a character that’s similar to wei ying. he became wei yings shifu so to speak. they would invent things together. they were both known for blowing up things a lot. the lan healers mentioned once how the jiang healers definitely knew about the abuse wei ying was subjected to. and that they would be bringing up them not living up to their duties as healers at a conference or something. and that not helping wei ying in the abusive situation was a major taboo amongst all the healers and there would be repercussions for that. i think they mention that wei ying is often in the back of cloud recess where all the elders lives. like he’s just always around that general area. it’s kind of jiang bashing and then also positive/protective lans. that’s all i can remember so sorry if that’s vague i just really enjoyed reading it and can’t find it for the life of me. thanks for any help u can give me!! and as always thanks so much for all ur hard work 💕💕💕

Hi! I'm number 9 on the latest fic finder. That fic rec is not the one I was looking for, but that fic is really good, and I'm thankful for whoever who assumed it was that particular one. 11. I am back once again asking for your excellent help in finding a fic. It's an AU, where a previous emperor ordered Lan Zhan & Wei Ying to marry. Lan Zhan is an imperial official (in the tax department i think). There is a war with the Wen going on and Wei Ying is ordered off to fight. Everyone thinks WY is either dead or MIA, but when the war is won, LZ goes to oversees a prisoner exchange and finds WY who has been on a work gang in a mine all this time (with A-Yuan who he's adopted & Mo Xuanyu). I remember MianMian is the brilliant general on the winning side. You find out that LZ & WY basically fell in love right before WY got shipped off to war, so it's a happy reunion. Oh! Also, LZ writes very popular poetry under a pseudonym! Um...i remember that LZ bought WY a goat they called Amethyst because before he was disappeared WY wrote LZ expressing the wish for such a goat (LZ buys the whole herd in the end). Jiang Yanli and the Peacock are married and are the new empress and emperor. There's an epilogue or end note where the author gives info about how their life turned out - this is all in the 500s CE. 13. Hello! I've been pulling my hair out trying to find a wangxian fic. Unfortunately, I can't remember too much about it, but I believe it's a modern/university setting. The only scene I can remember is WWX going with LWJ to visit his uncle and brother. They live rather far and on a hill. LWJ doesn't visit often, and this visit is very tense between WWX and LQR. Something about past WWX doing to LWJ, or causing LWJ to get into trouble when they were younger. Anyway, LWJ then gets angry with his uncle about the treatment directed towards WWX. I also can't remember if baby a-yuan is in this fic and present during the visit, as sometimes fics blend together. I apologize if this isn't enough to go by, but I just randomly recalled this fic, and apparently, I did not bookmark it.

couple of ladybug redesigns ive been doodling while stark raving mad about how this show for little kids doesnt have more badass outfits for the characters. i basically take a crack at these every couple of months but this is the first time im really pleased w what i came up with!

i def wanna come back to these and tweak them or come up with more designs for the other characters. and i esp wanna do a hawk moth chloe..........

long winded explanation of my design concepts unser the cut

ladybug - this is kind of my brain process here. her canon design (the worst one in the show imo) just kinda looks like a polkadot onesie so i really wantes to give her more bug-like features. i gave her black eyes bc i think its really cool when miraculiur holders change eye colours to something unnatural and i think its pretty neat and comicbook-y, and also insect-like. i also gave her bug-wing hairclips and changed her pigtails to twin buns so they had more of a shape contrast to the clips. for all wing details i added turquoise as a third colour to give it some SPICE.

my first designs (1-4) went off the idea of a short dress/coat with puff sleeves to suggest the shape of bug-legs, and the coat tails serving as her wings. i think its a cute design that fits marinette's girly style, but i wasn't quite happy with it.

i had the idea of her sleeves serving as her wings instead of her skirt or coat tails, and looked a little into chinese styles of clothing with big sleeves like this to lean more into marinette being half-chinese. i found a style called hanyuansu, which is modern clothes modified with hanfu elements and took inspiration from looking at a few outfits, so i tried a couple different takes. i really like design 6 with the big coat, but it seems really impractical for crime fighting :/ maybe its like a formalwear alt look lol.

7 is my final design that i'm happiest with, as it has all the elements i wanted but is still simple enough to not feel overloaded. i made the yoyo black for a little contrast and just bc i think it looks really cool!

queen bee - chloe was robbed of a character arc and a cool design. i will avenge her.

this ddsign came to me muchhh easier. a beehive hairdo seemed like a no-brainer, as well as fur trims both because she's a bee and because she's a bougie rich girl. i wanted the look to scream elegance and be a little retro and 60ies-inspired to go with her hairdo. the shape and tights are like a cute minidress married to a fur coat meets bee stinger, which is the vibe i want! the gloves are full chic and also sort of like black insect legs.

again a light blue wing detail for a pop of contrast and just because wings are fucking cool, and it gave me an excuse for 60ies inspired blue eyeshadow! yellow eyes cause i love weird eye colours, and it just looks a little creepy and jaundiced hehe

no mask because everyone knows its's her anyways, so why bother? plus masks are sort of annoying to design around lol. i kept her feelers because theyre really cute!

queen bee x butterfly - ive wanted chloe to become the new hawk moth since the concept was teased. well now my heart is broken forever, but i can still dream!! so this is like, an au where she has a full epic villain arc, keeps the bee and also gets the butterfly miraculous and becomes the new big bad!

i kept a lot of thw elements from the queen bee design but modified them. the dress changes shape into something less like a stinger and more like a chic mini winter coat to match the giant fur trim she has now! obviously huge moth wings are a must, and more of a staff than hawk moth's cane because, hey. she's royalty.

her queen bee feelers change to fuzzy moth ones, and the colours are a little different to match better with purple! plus a butterfly mask now, and white eyes with solid yellow irises to diffirenciate her from.......

i gave him solid white eyes to make him look less human and goofy, and again for that cool comic-booky look.

i based the whole design on wanting his silouette to mimic thw butterfly miraculous, so i kept and exaggerated his canon lapels and added two pointy coat tails for the bottom of the wings.

the long coat is a bit more dramatique and less basic, and i tried to give his mask a little flourish to keep him from looking so much like a silver thumb.

the only place i kept the silver is for the vest, which is segmented to imitatw to look of a butterfly or moth's belly. i spent the least amount of time on this one but i'm pretty happy with it for a rougher draft than the other three designs.

And can he prevent the inevitable, namely Ms. Shea falling in love with John?

A short Friend by 221Beloved (M, 17,711+ w., 6/10 Ch. || WiP || Supernatural Elements AU || Crack Treated Seriously, Background Case, First Time, First Kiss, Pining, Caring) – John just wanted Sherlock to take a look at the case. Any case was better than being bored to the point of jeopardising your flatmate's sanity, right?

When We Were Young by Calais_Reno (T, 27,230 w., 10 Ch. || Alternate First Meeting AU || First Love, Nostalgia, Pre and Post TRF, Doctor John, Angst with Happy Ending) – John and Sherlock met at school, and were a bit more than friends. But they didn't stay in touch afterwards. Life goes on, and when John returns from Afghanistan, he takes a position at Barts as a trauma specialist, working in the Emergency Department. As he reports for work one day, a man jumps off the roof of the hospital. John's world tilts on its axis.

INEFFABLE HUSBANDS

Our Flag is a Good Omen by mltrefry (T, 79,806 w., 13 Ch. || Our Flag Means Death / Good Omens Crossover || Not Canon Compliant, The Arrangement, Aziraphale Angst, Happy Ending) – Crossing paths wasn't all that strange for Crowley and Aziraphale. It was rather odd that those paths should cross on Spanish Navy Vessel in the Caribbean during a fight. Even stranger that the reasons they were there in the first place happen to be why they crossed paths. And seemingly staying together. It's not exactly part of the arrangement, but maybe getting one Stede Bonnet, the less-than-well-known Gentleman Pirate, and the Infamous Blackbeard who would rather just be known as Ed to, perhaps, find what they're lookiing for in each other would get Crowley and Aziraphale out of the Caribbean and back to London all the sooner. As you can well imagine, what with how incredibly competent the angel and demon are, it does not go as planned.

What is Nya's relationship w/ Skylor, actually? I think they'd be rlly interesting here, especially with Nya as the more aggressive go-getter like Kai was in canon at that point. What's Skylor's relationship with *all* of the Ninja? Does the Kailor subplot still happen??? So many questions....

Most important question of all though: WHAT do Nya & Zane's personalized rooms look like,,,, 👀👀👀

skylor and nya- I think Nya and Sky have a... more surface level friendship at first. Nya is just excited to meet all these people with powers like hers and test herself and her limits that she ends up only getting to hangout with Skylor a little bit before everything goes to shit lol. I think they're definitely friends- Skylor willing to offer up info on some of the others and Nya eager for any upperhand she can get in the coming fights. but Nyas more focused of winning than she is socializing, so Skylor ends up left behind to her.

Skylor and Kai- i think kailor does still happen similar to in canon, but it's very loose. Kai is there to take care of Nya and then, accidentally, he's there to take care of Lloyd. there's not enough room in his mind to lose focus on Skylor- though he does. he does. i think in this AU kai has a lot more pressure on himself to succeed. he's got to do everything right. put four weapons back on the map, make money to pay bills, give nya a better life- he's had to make sacrifices. he hasn't really had the time to consider dating. he feels a connection with Sky and he wants to see where it goes, but... he's got Nya and Lloyd to look after. i think Skylor starts to lose her nerve to help her father because she sees Kai with his family and knows that she's looking at what she never had- unconditional love and support. she looks at kai and sees a wonderful, responsible, lonely man. she can see herself in him. she admires him. they make me ill

as for the rest of the ninja, she's not really standout. Zane does not know who she is to chen. she's chens best kept secret until it's time to reveal all his cards!!

Nya's room has a personal letter from Chen saying he's looking forward to seeing her skills because Water is an especially formidable element. there is also lots of ocean motifs and weaponry lining the walls.

Zanes room is... pretty plain, all things considered. a big, comfortable bed. a nice ornate chest of drawers he can unpack his bag into. mugs and tea and a teapot. a perch for falcon. it's designed to be very comfortable and homey.

Wanted to do Spike's design

The idea is while him and Twilight were trying to find a cure for Rarity, the infection started getting to her and she attempted an attack on twilight, but at the last second, Spike was able to jump in the way. Unfortunately due to his small size, and the powerful chaotic nature of the infection, it took over too quickly. Twilight used her element to seal him in stone, and she's pretty sad :(

The stone part I'm STILL working on cause it does conflict w canon but I will get that info to y'all asap B)

I have this whole thing about what like items would be used to hunt the participants down each member would use and kind of what each of their masks would look like/resemble

CELLBIT

Uses a machete/knife weapon

Mask looks very similar to the mask he wore in the purg 2 livestream, a half-mask deal covering the lower part of his face with like cool black and red motifs like the armor + little spikes. He has goggles that match as well

Craziest out of the bunch. He’s having a blast

BAGHERA

She still has a chainsaw. I feel if I were to take it away it would be a crime + she would definitely not let me even if I tried

Her mask is a debate between a half mask like Cellbit w/o goggles or like a duck mask with a big window for the eyesight type deal because I still can’t decide what her actual design looks like (like human or anthro duck)

If not for the rest of the pack, she’d definitely be the most insane. But thanks to them being present in this au she’s in second place behind Cellbit

I’ve thought about what he’d use a little bit and came up with the idea of him using drills and bombs to get to players. Not sure if I’m 100% on this but it fits his building obsession. Maybe he uses these to access hunted down players that are underground/hiding?

SLIME

I’ve come up with a cool concept of Slime using something similar to the gas event that happens where he uses a gas release type thing. If you’ve ever seen that one enemy in the Outlast: Trials game that releases the insanity gas when he attacks a player its similar to that but much more extreme. Plus this gas is flammable and toxic to breathe in (except if you’re in the Bolas pack bonded cult because they snorf that shit up for breakfast).

Another thing I’ve thought of for Slime is something to revolve around his code abilities. I think it’d be neat if he could somehow track other players using these abilities and that’s how Bolas finds players. (Maybe by the end of it he could do some funky shit that notifies Philza to their location, maybe by sending him cords or something over like those radio/phone/communication device looking things I’ve seen fanart of for the residents of Quesadilla Island 👀). I can also see him going feral and going after Bad as payback :)

His mask looks like the one in the final purg 1 stream with the big eye window. Maybe some other funky green tubing or something with the gas?

3rd most insane. Have you heard his laugh when he’s doing a literal insane bit?? I am to be able to act that crazy sometimes :)

Hard to say if she survives the nuclear blast like in canon in this au, but if she does live she’d be our resident arsonist! I’d imagine she and Slime team up often for maximum damage and explosions. Plus arson just feels like something a Jaiden in this type of au would think is fun.

Her mask, like a lot of fanart shows, looks like a parrot plague doctor mask with gas mask elements. But, like her v-tuber during purg 1, I think having her mask looks like the Bolas logo is a great option too. Maybe a combination of both?

A bit less insane than Foolish, but just as traumatized as b4 :)

CARRE

Gun. For the sillies. Only person who gets a gun. If we’re being serious, I’m not entirely sure what he’d have due to only knowing him from the vague points I saw of him during purg 1, but I think maybe a combat knife could work?

Either a regular ass gas mask or like some N95

The chillest person there. Probably still a bit crazy, but at least he’ll be hanging out.

I think by the end of purg 2 (I’ll have to look into this, I wasn’t there for live purg 2), the pack will have killed a bunch of the players, if not all of them. I don’t know much about the lore with like, anyone in purg 2 (only Baghera, Cellbit, the outcome of what happened with Sneeg’s character and the winner of the event), but I think it’d be fun if Sneeg’s character had a role too :)

So by the end, someone (most likely Slime in this au) would find Sneeg all mutated and stuff from the radiation. If we are going with Slime here, he probably will feel pity and have him stay with Bolas even though Sneeg’s very aggressive and dangerous. Probably a couple days later is when they are rescued by Philza, Sneeg goes with them and stays with Phil. I like the au’s I’ve seen here on tumblr of q!Sneeg just being chill/relatively calm when around only Phil and I want to implement that into this au :)

Maybe Sneeg starts to heal, if only a tiny bit, and is fine around the eggs (I can see Phil going like “We don’t attack the eggs, Sneeg. Eggs = nice and good and fragile” and Sneeg just going “:|” “:)” )

Gonna Rant for a bit

Okay so I love AUs/Headcanons where the Ninja seriously hold a ton of OP levels when it comes to their Elements.

Like the very few headcanon fics where Nya is capable of Bloodbending. Or @pillowdrawz’s Abaddon AU where Cole can Metalbend and stuff.

The most fascinating ones are the Jay ones with again @pillowdrawz’s Abaddon AU with Jay manipulating the electricity in the brain and @writing-hat’s Bending But Never Breaking (Please do not read this if you are uncomfortable with reading certain topics. This fic is graphic if you’re curious just read the tags before you read the fic) fic where he could control the nerves in his own body. (Which inspired a headcanon for me that Jay can stop his heart for a few seconds then resuscitate himself)

And it fascinates me how creative people can get if they just took the rules, break them or get creative with what they already know about their powers. Cause if Jay can redirect Lightning and Nya can apparently talk to fish or Cole can see which way to go if he focuses on the earth or Zane can allow people some foresight vision (You know that Ice slab that allowed Vex to see where the Ninja were?) if they were pushed to their limits then the rules are endless to what they could possibly do.

So got me thinking about something, the ones with the least headcanons for their powers is Kai and Lloyd.

Kai I can understand, there’s only so much you can do with Fire. I’ve had it that he can redirect Fire or make someone else’s Fire his own. But that’s about as far as I can go with his powers and if the Legacy Shorts are canon then Kai can already do that- (Was it the Legacy Shorts??? Idk I don’t remember anymore) so most of my headcanons of him are just ‘Fire Resistance’ ‘Hair catches on Fire when mad’ Etc Etc.

It’s really hard to come up with a headcanon for Kai. We could borrow some things from Avatar: The Last Airbender, like Kai’s fire possibly turning blue or getting multicolored. Or him being able to briefly control lightning like Nya can control ice. But again…

That’s about as far as you can go…

And so the one with the most potential but the least amount of Headcanons is Lloyd.

And this one is by far understandable.

The most headcanons I’ve seen of Lloyd are usually one-off or taken as suggestions, like Lloyd being able to Heal People and Himself (Saw the Healing Headcanon in a fic but it was just a minor mention.) or Lloyd being able to absorb the Energy of Life which is why he’s mega powerful. (Which is why I find the naming thing extremely silly because people had been making headcanons about Lloyd’s powers that are synonymous with both Life and Energy BEFORE the name reveal and then suddenly no one is okay with the name change when they’ve been using Life and Energy synonymously. Especially since this is like the FOURTH suggestion of the name of Lloyd’s Powers one was a JOKE from the movie because literally no one knows what the hell Lloyd’s powers are)

There’s one Headcanon in a fic called ‘Lloyd’s Guide to Surviving the Merge (and finding new family through it)’ (Forgot who the @ was on Tumblr sorry-) Where Lloyd could ‘feel’ the Ninjas and could possibly feel if they were dead. But not sure if that’s something he could ACTUALLY do in the fic but it’s an interesting concept.

But again, Lloyd despite being the most powerful of the Ninja has the least Headcanons when it comes to his powers and most of the time they’re really one-off or a suggestion to the fandom on how his powers work.

And I get why.

He’s been main charactering the whole series for a while, it makes sense why people don’t want to pay that much attention to him because…

He already gets that much attention out here even unnecessarily let’s be real. (Lloyd Ily you’re my favorite character but they seriously have to let you take a backseat man, ESPECIALLY now that you’re being thrown into traumaland every 5 seconds.)

But secondly…

If we did push his limits and break the rules for him, the same way we do for Nya, Jay, Cole and Zane…uhm…

Maybe it’s best that Lloyd was nerfed in the series because holy fuck. Lloyd would be TERRIFYING.

In fact I like the Headcanon that the Ninja seriously hold back when it comes to their powers because they would be terrifying to think about if they were allowed to be lethal, if they were allowed to fully obliterate their enemies.

I swear the Tournament of Sources would end differently if the Ninja were as lethal as the headcanons.

I’ve had a ton of headcanons about Lloyd’s powers for a while, and a lot of them I don’t share because as much as the concept is terrifying, it makes Lloyd wayy to powerful to exist man. Many of them I just straight up turned him into god at this point.

And it’s not my fault that his powers are INTERESTING but the writers just chop it down to him blasting energy everywhere, I mean canonically in the Wilfilm Era of Ninjago he could create a shield that was both Offensive and Defensive. Especially since he shot himself off the Destiny’s Bounty, created a shield around himself, and threw himself upon Chen’s Anacondrai Cult Army like a fucking canonball.

So as a result I’ve had a ton of Headcanons for Lloyd’s powers. But some of them can be nonsensical cause they make me break the canon a lot to the point Lloyd feels like an OC than a pre-existing character so I don’t show them much. But damn some of these headcanons that DO make sense are terrifying to think about sometimes.

Hello, I’m new on here but I’ve been watching your Space Riders AU for the last month and wanted to ask some questions.

I read somewhere on your blog that Critters with powers are rare. I know that DogDay, Catnap, and Hoppy have magic but does any one else on the team have magic.

Can you explain how the magic thing works a bit. I’ve read most of your notes on it but I’m still confused on how it works, like type wise. I’ve seen others give their ocs magic and it just confused me more.

And lastly I want to know what your rules for OCs are. More specifically I want to know if there is anything I’m not allowed to uses or step into. Like for example, a relative to one of the main characters, or their rank, or what their relationship with the main cast is (non-family kind).

The reason I’m asking the last two is because I’m planing to put my OC in the Space Rider AU. If you need me to clarify any of my questions better or want me to outright say what it is I’m checking me let me know.

Yes, Critters with powers are rare, but it is rarer to be a Celestial Critter, which are critters that have powers associated with celestial items like planets, moons, stars, suns, etc etc.

canon critters that have powers are Dogday (power of the sun), Catnap (power of the moon), Hoppy (power of electricity) and Kickin (power of fire), as you can see, the latter two are powers over elements instead of celestial objects.

My oc rules are rather simple! as long as they're not over powered Mary sues with a gazillion powers then i'm fine w/ anything. Some both on tumblr and twitter have done relatives to canon characters, the only thing is that i just dont confirm or deny anything, it's left ambiguous on purpose (its mostly to avoid people finding ways to get free art for their ocs, since some ppl are shameless).

If i wasnt clear enough do let me know! english is not my first language

Just for fun: in your Canon, who gets what Element of Harmony?

OH MY GOSH I WAS LITERALLY JUST THINKING ABOUT THESE GUYS AS PONIES OK OK

wELL here’s the thing. we don’t have enough developed characters from the Agency to fill out the Elements of Harmony, so i decided to go a bit AU for this one and turn some villains into heroes so we can have a full bracket!

after much deliberation, i have assigned the following: Agent Phoenix as Magic, Reginald as Laughter, Ollie as Loyalty, Solaris as Honesty, Juniper as Generosity, and Prism as Kindness. i’ll go into detail as to why and also give them all silly pony names and cutie marks and such under the cut :P

Agent Phoenix’s name remains the same (since it’s an alias anyway), and they have a lighter with a phoenix feather behind it as their cutie mark. tbh i have no idea what type of pony they’d be bc like you’d think unicorn bc of their TK but then what’s the point of the implant so maybe they’re a pegasus? idk, doesn’t matter, anyway— besides the fact that they have telekinesis, i made them Magic bc they embody the magical elements of friendship; the sudden click with someone you hardly know, the unlikely ally, the almost supernatural element of it all that makes people care so much about each other that, bound by nothing but mutual affection, they can take down world-ending threats.

Reginald becomes Ruffled Feathers (his friends call him Ruffles). he’s a pegasus with a headset emblazoned with the Agency logo on it for a cutie mark. i made him Laughter because his entire thing is keeping a lighthearted attitude in order to put people at ease. dead-pan jokes, banter, quips—he’s always ready to pick up the mood! he sometimes can’t take things seriously to the point he seems a little heartless, but he really does care!

Ollie becomes Otter Pop! he’s an earth pony with a fish on a hook for his cutie mark. obviously he HAD to be Loyalty bc like *gestures at his entire character* it’s a flaw just as much as a virtue since people tend to use his good-hearted and sincere dedication to take advantage of him, but with a good group of friends behind him, you’ll never find somepony more trustworthy or reliable.

Solaris becomes Commander Solar Flare, a pegasus with a supernova cutie mark. it’s a little difficult to find someone to embody Honesty in a game series about subterfuge, but i think that she can fit the bill. she’s blunt and to-the-point, rarely sugar-coating things. she’s not just brutally honest about the bad things, though; she’s the first to point out an accomplishment or something done right. she’s who you want working on a project with you because you know she won’t hesitate to tell you how things can be improved, but you can also completely trust when she says something is excellent.

Juniper becomes Ivy Veneer, an earth pony with a mask cutie mark. and maybe he’s a changeling too, idk. he may be a bit bratty and egotistical, but i gave him Generosity because he LOVES using the talents he worked his tail off to develop to help others. he’s the first one to suggest throwing a party to celebrate an accomplishment (even if you haven’t fully completed it yet) and if you need it he’s always ready to give you presents or a show or even just his time. yes, he can appear self-centered, but he simply Knows His Worth and wants to make sure his friends know theirs! he’s the guy who will yell at you if you talk bad about yourself lol

Prism becomes Prismatic Mirror, a unicorn with a glowing blue crystal combined with a gear as her cutie mark. she’s Kindness because truly all she wants is to leave behind a world made a little better and sweeter for her presence. sometimes she’ll take her plans too far, getting lost in the details and losing sight of what the person she’s trying to help actually needs, but her strong morals and big heart will always lead her back to doing the right thing.

feels funny making the ieytd villains THIS sympathetic but hopefully it still aligns w their characterizations! either way it was a fun lil exercise. i luv ponies <3

non-avatar aang au where the reason aang survived wasn't bc of the avatar state [which he shouldn't have been able to access anyways iirc bc he wasn't a master of all four elements at that point. so yay past avatars/spirit interference isn't far fetched] but bc someone had to survive to teach the avatar airbending n they had to be a master to do it ofc

so normal set up katara's temper explodes -> they find aang -> zuko tries to capture the avatar -> aang denies being the avatar, but this time, he's telling the truth.

aang's just a 12 year old kid fully unaware of the war. like he'll refuse to believe his people are killed all the same but i think katara will still seize the opportunity to possibly make it to the north pole via appa to find a waterbending teacher [n because if aang's not the avatar, then he'll have to go to the north to teach the avatar airbending. sokka figures the avatar could be in any nation by now but he can't let katara go by herself either so off they go!]

smt smt aang being the last of his people n when he truly takes this in, he has a choice. live in hiding, yk, the thing that spared him alone [ooh survivor's guilt exploration] or set aside the nomad way of nonviolence [what else does he has left of his people?] to end the war. and he has to grapple w that from the start instead of re: killing ozai or not. n mayb he's not the avatar mayb he doesn't have destiny to tie his hands w duty but he has the shame of abandoning his people in their time of need. he can't cast that aside now can he?

(unlike avatar aang. he can't even talk to yangchen, the previous nomad avatar. it's just him left)

but he can't break down forever. katara has to go to the north pole to get a waterbending teacher bc isn't the south pole just like the southern air temples?? their benders are down to just one and while their people live on, katara too has to bare the weight of her people's bending living on through herself. and unlike aang, there are people who can teach her.

so mayb he's still figuring shit out, but he can do this at least.

the avatar isn't in the northern tribe.

things still play out roughly according to main canon events but now katara's determined to find the avatar n for aang to teach them airbending. [aang makes peace with having to do something, even if only fighting non-lethally and teaching the avatar to airbend. it's the perfect solution! surely the feelings he buried to come to it aren't something he still has to work through. surely.]

now the earth kingdom's big ! but eventually they still end up in ba sing se, surely the place the fire nation lead a siege against, desperate to break through to, is important? perhaps the avatar is being protected here [cue sokka grumbling abt how the avatar is meant to be the one doing the protecting]

they pick toph up on the way before this ofc. and if aang lies saying it's bc he's the avatar n needs an earthbending teacher while still being honest abt airbending. well i think that's good enough for toph to run away over in this au [ofc she immediately confronts them abt it after joining up]. everyone assumes aang's the avatar anyways. i mean come on, air benders don't just pop out of thin air these days.

ozai is still defeated in the end bc they've run out of time n who even knows how old the current avatar is or what nation they're from. they've got to fight n while it goes down differently and aang still doesn't kill ozai or unlock his fancy bender-bending. he still fights.

what happened to his people can never happen to others again. he doesn't run away this time.

anyways regarding who the avatar themselves is i propose ty lee. like there are quite a few avatar zuko/azula/lu ten takes [w the cycle going back to fire] n a few of airbender/descendant of air nomads ty lee takes [i mean look at her. her eyes are grey n her nose looks like tenzin's kids'] but i've never seen an avatar ty lee one?? this au doesn't need her to be the avatar necessarily but i think it's fun if u have zuko hunting the avatar [aang], the gaang looking for the avatar [could be anyone] n azula + friends hunting the avatar [aang]. meanwhile one of said friends is the avatar all along.

if ty lee is really a descendant of air nomads, her first element could be air instead of fire, hence the nonbender label. smt smt if the fire sages have become sell outs n the past avatar spirits trapped aang in a block of ice, it's not impossible to think they'd hide her avatar status from the sages for abandoning their ways.

anyways they don't exactly figure this out until after the war. possibly a celebration dinner turned silly food fight turned ty lee trapping a plate of food flying towards her midair. bumi style :)
