i am once again begging for jason fic recs but this time i'm gonna be more specific. pls plsss share any fics you guys have read that doesn't include pit madness, jason apologizing to tim, jason feeling bad about what he did to tim, or anything to do with tim. if it has to do with tim, i hope it's someone acknowledging tim's role in badmouthing robin jason (literally impossible i think) or them only having a relationship if it's not built on jason feeling guilty and tim being a baby twink

This might be nothing but I’m thinking so hard after the recent update about how it’s a common pop culture phenomenon to have the dog and the mailman as an inherently comically antagonistic relationship. Where the implication is that the mailman is trespassing on the owner’s Home by delivering the mail.

And Barnaby is best friends with Wally, close with Home, there were a lot of dog imagery in the food.

I know that BftC is widely regarded as trash, and that nobody cares that Dick used what anyone would conclude to be CSA to trigger Jason in BftC, but I need someone who understands Dick better than me to tell whether or not that *actually* was OoC for Dick where Jason is concerned. Because you see, Dick's interactions with Jason post-crisis aren't really... The best. And yes, Jason was a villain at the time etc etc etc, but what we see from Dick is, like I said, using what anyone (ok, or most people) would presume to be CSA to trigger someone and leaving Jason to die in BiB. Jason also did shitty things when both those things happened, but, well, Dick is the hero, that's the narrative, it's not even me saying this.

My point is that (pre reboot) Dick, contrary to popular belief, doesn't really extend Jason many things (like he would, if he considered Jason anything more than just someone who died and it was sad 🥺), and isn't charitable at all towards him. You can think Jason deserved that, and that Dick was OoC, but the fact is that the two first encounters with Jason go like that (it is the two first, right? I know BiB is the first, but I'm not so sure about bftc being the second, so correct if I'm wrong).

I personally think that BiB was OoC for Dick, but my point is: was BftC really OoC for Dick?

My second point is, you see, I know Jason was being character assassinated there, and I mostly do elect to ignore that altogether, but when I do that I am also electing to ignore Dick's actions, which also weren't this ray of sunshine thing.
