APAP 2019 — VoicePlay live performances

Every trip to the Association of Performing Arts Professionals annual conference in NYC included a showcase concert to show off the guys' talents for potential show bookers. The setlists they put together each year included a combination of established crowd pleasers and new material that demonstrated the breadth of their repertoire. These two recordings are great examples of their appeal.

This medley was incredibly impressive when they released their videos with professional audio recording and mixing, and the ability to record as many takes as they wanted. Seeing the guys tackle it live might be even more astounding.

Trivia:

This medley was originally released in two parts, with a week-long cliffhanger between "The Ballad of Mona Lisa" and "This Is Gospel". Clips from those videos play on the screen behind them as they perform it live.

This number was a longtime fan favorite at VoicePlay's live shows. The bandmates often refer to each other as brothers, and that comes with the occasional bickering. Luckily for us, this battle for the spotlight is entertaining as heck and (as far as I know) only pretend.

how important is cpap maintenance? I struggle with it now and want to know if I should invest effort into actually changing the filters or putting water in the humidifier will help my sleep or if it's mostly okay and would only bring marginal benefits

When I was briefed on mine, I was assured that it's very important to keep it clean. You don't want to be breathing in dust and mildew after all. The thing that prompted me to make that post last night was that I'd changed out the filter two weeks late and breathing felt SO much easier and nicer. (I did uhhh use a cut out bit of an n95 mask because I haven't gotten around to ordering more filters, but honestly I think this works just fine, maybe better. And it's cheaper so I might keep doing it.) It was a relief and I slept pretty well last night.

I'm not a professional in any sense so take this as a limited experience opinion, but I'd also say putting water in the humidifier is probably important, unless it's very humid where you are. I forgot once and woke up with a horribly dry throat and it was awful compared to when I don't forget. :c Also rinsing it out is important because mildew and other build-up; another point in time I'd just left it for a while (it was super humid out and the water wasn't even going down each night) and when I opened it up again to rinse out, it smelled... weird. And I felt better after cleaning it out.

In general, I think it's important to make sure you're not breathing in particles that could hurt your health all night long.

I just dug out the maintenance guide I was given when I got mine. I don't rinse the tubing every day anymore (the doctor I spoke to said the once a week cleaning was fine enough), but it's a good guide and maybe it'll help you too? For reference, this is directed toward people with ResMed PAPs.

(The ratio it mentions is 1 part distilled white vinegar to 1 part hot water.)

Acetaminophen vs Paracetamol: The actual drug is n-acetyl-para-aminophenol, and I think it's a narrow win for the Yanks. Acetaminophen (Acetyl Aminophenol) vs Paracetamol (Para Acetyl ..... "mol") both drop pretty important parts of the molecule. With Acetaminophen, you at least know the big constituents, acetylating an aminophenol (the 4-aminophenol, to be precise, though you wouldn't know that from the name). Paracetamol, comparatively, includes the para- orientation of the molecule and the acetylation step, but to accommodate this, the aminophenol is condensed into "mol", which kinda leaves out the important part; you know the layout and one of the components/steps, but not the actual primary material.

APAP, being a contraction of Acetyl-Para-AminoPhenol, is the better one, but most people won't recognize that unless they have experience in pharmacy or medical work.

Car Trunk vs Car Boot: A clear win for US English, trunk was already a thing in which you stored items, frequently for transport.

Crisps vs Chips: I gotta admit, the Brits have this one. They're thin slices of potato that have been made crispy. No chipping of any materials involved.

Car Park vs Parking Lot: Equally matched. What's a car park? A place to park cars. What's a parking lot? An otherwise empty lot where you can park.

Elevator vs Lift: Both equally fail to address that the damn thing also goes down.
