#the nemesis speaks #the legends zone #hi. sorry. apparently this is The AU of the Day. im going to bed soon promise #but god one thing i do really get obsessed with so fast is porting characters to another situation #and seeing how their relationships evolve #AND i love Bonding. so this is great.#anyway to nobody's surprise i AM envisioning akari as the protag and rei as counterpart #and i think being stuck as a child developmentally for a century of running and hiding and fighting across universes #has some uh. Fun Lasting Effects #and then she Forgot ever going through that and was also cut off from her family (her FAMILY-)#so it's. hard. the whole world feels Wrong. her emotions are too Big for her body to hold #she's still a child but it's like she's doing it wrong somehow. she isn't like anyone else #which is what directly relates to her running away from the home she gets put in bc they fundamentally CAN'T get it and also don't try #and she's so hurt and frustrated and she KNOWS she could be on her own anyway! one of the ways in which she's too grown-up #but that's hard too it's just hard in different ways #and then she finds cyllene and lav and ingo again and it's just like. a Click. somehow it's so much easier to Exist when they're there #....this is mostly abt akari i guess. oops. there's more abt the others but there is a theoretical tag limit on these things #AND ALSO I THINK SHE'S A DIVINE OR CHOSEN SORCERER. so that's another thing. magic she can't 100% control #that just burns through her when she gets emotional #ingo meanwhile has not felt An Emotion in five years. and laventon is off in lala land approximately 50% of the time.#and if you ask cyllene she'll say her only emotion is Shouting. but she's a fucking liar #but more on that another time!

im not a fan of modern merthur but the idea of them meeting in modern times and introducing themselves to each other and them laughing and bonding over their names being connected to the myth of king arthur and camelot is just so cute

i know everyone likes to put tharja in the "yandere goth girl" category but tbh i feel like pigeonholing her into one specific archetype does a huge disservice to her character. is she obsessed with curses and robin? yes. is she constantly shoved into a fanservice role by intsys? absolutely.

but i think a lot of people forget just how impactful a lot of her supports are...there's something about tharja that makes nearly everyone who interacts with her divulge their deepest secrets and points of anxiety with her. we see this with libra, who tells her of the abandonment he endured at the hands of his parents. we see it with nowi, whose cheerful demeanor slips off as she tells tharja of her missing parents. and although tharja is not the only one lon'qu confides in regarding ke'ri, their support is notably the only one in which lon'qu divulges that there was romantic involvement between he and his childhood friend.

and despite her antisocial exterior, she always listens mindfully and offers to help! she even goes out of her way to discreetly help the shepherds (getting virion to do odd jobs that benefit civilians, interrogating henry to make sure he bears no ill will towards ylisse, etc).

a big thing about tharja is that she IS kind. she IS considerate. she just also has a reputation to uphold as a dark mage and that (paired with her overall awkwardness ofc) makes her true nature hard to see at first glance

#fire emblem #fire emblem awakening #fire emblem heroes #tharja #tharja fire emblem #also aside from the fanservice she gets shoehorned into a lot of people dislike her for the noire situation #which yes. absolutely makes sense.#but like....also.... it's implied that it's NOT the current tharja who treated noire that way. it was doomed!future tharja #is this splitting hairs? yeah i guess? but like...the whole point of awakening is that our decisions and bonds shape who we are.#we could be an entirely different person depending on what we choose to value #the tharja from noire's timeline is not the tharja from the current timeline and current! tharja shows how much she cares for noire #another point of contention with tharja is her robin obsession #which CAN be annoying. i'll grant you that.#HOWEVER she only mentions robin in 2 of her s-supports i believe #frankly i think cordelia is a worse offender here. i can't think of a support where she DOESN'T mention chrom #anyway let's also not forget how committed tharja is to being sharena's friend in FEH #GOOOODDD i really do love tharja... she's so great #i was actually reading lon'qu's supports because i want to do an s-rank convo tierlist for him maybe but i got distracted #by his support with tharja which is just SOOOOOO peak #that i just ended up reading all of tharja's supports as well sjsjskksksk so sorry lonk i'm thinking about tharja today!

What I love about Hellboy and Abe Sapien's dynamic in the comics is that, if you came into this blind, you'd expect Abe to be the voice of reason or the straight man to Hellboy's impulsive and hotheaded personality. But no, Abe is more often than not the crazy one. Hellboy would deal with fighting evil monsters and bad guys by just sighing and getting it over with, while Abe is going rabid over tearing the creature apart when he does get into a fight. Hellboy acts like it's a 9-to-5 job and will reasonably talk things out with a guy that had nearly killed him before, Abe acts like a madman in a slaughter house and his first instinct is to shoot first kill second and ask third. They're both insane, but on completely different levels.

#wheres that one comic where abe gets into a mission and has to tear down a monster with an axe #then at the end when hellboy appears and sees abe going ham while covered in blood. he's like ''oh hey abe. good job you're doing there''#hellboy was not even worried for a second. he trusts abe to handle things on his own #they both trust each other to do their job but they also know when they can handle a fight on their own and will help if needed.#their trust and bond with each other is so implicit but speaks volumes. they dont need to say anything. they just know #we talk so much about hellboy being like. an alright guy and a whole lot kinder than the world treats him. and that's right #but it really does make Abe look fucking batshit wild in comparison because of it #the entirety of the abe sapien comics is that the guy is on his hinges and the only thing keeping him sane before was his job (which is #debatable.) and the bprd. mostly hellboy and liz and kate and roger. johan and ben are a weird case but he does kinda care about them #i love abe btw. he's such an interesting critter. absolutely crazy maniac of a guy.#tbf i dont blame him considering his backstory. if i went through some of the shit he did; i would not be sane either #also. the moments post hellboy's death in the comics where abe is trying to deal with his passing but never directly says anything about it #until he was confronted by hellboy in his dream. thats the cool bit yknow. we dont need to be told Abe was grieving about hellboy #we just knew he wasn't handling it well. using present tense when talking about hellboy to other people. avoiding saying his name.#its great stuff #the fire burns #hellboy #hellboy comics #abe sapien
