Hi Pookie
I wanted to request A Max daughter one like Max and Kelly had the baby and the reader is like 16-17 (she can drive) and she gets into a really really bad car accident (like so bad she was in a coma or something) and the hospital calls both but they don't answer since they're busy with the baby. they have been neglecting her. Until they called another driver and they went to her and like they lecture Max and Kelly.
Unanswered Calls

Yn gripped the steering wheel with shaky hands, her breathing uneven as she blinked back the sting of exhaustion. The streetlights blurred as rain splattered against the windshield, the rhythmic thudding of wipers doing little to clear her vision.
She was used to being on her own.
It wasn’t like she hadn’t asked. Earlier that afternoon, she had stood at the kitchen counter, bag in hand, waiting.
“Mom, Dad, I have ballet at six,” she had said, shifting her weight awkwardly as Kelly rocked the baby in her arms and Max tried to calm Penelope, who was throwing a fit about something.
Neither of them had even turned toward her.
“I can’t right now, sweetie,” Kelly had murmured distractedly, adjusting the baby’s tiny blanket.
“Ask your mom, I—Penelope, please, stop screaming,” Max had muttered, rubbing his temple as he tried to negotiate with his six-year-old daughter.
Yn had nodded, swallowing the lump in her throat. She didn’t ask again. She was used to this—being the afterthought, the independent one, the one who didn’t need attention because she never demanded it. So she had grabbed her car keys, not trusting herself to be upset.
Now, barely an hour later, everything was going wrong.
Her tires hit a patch of water, hydroplaning before she could react. The world spun. A blaring horn. The sharp, crunching sound of metal on metal. A shock of pain. Then, blackness.
Daniel was halfway through dinner when his phone buzzed. He almost ignored it, expecting it to be some stupid spam call, but something made him glance down.
Unknown Number.
Frowning, he wiped his hands on a napkin before answering. “Hello?”
“Is this Daniel?” A woman's voice, professional but urgent. “Daniel Ric—”
“Yes, yes, who is this?” He sat up straight, suddenly alert.
“This is St. James Hospital. Your goddaughter, Yn Verstappen, was in a severe car accident. You were listed as an emergency contact. We’ve been trying to reach her parents, but—”
Daniel was already on his feet, chair scraping against the floor. “Where is she? What happened?”
“She sustained significant injuries, including lung trauma. We had to place a chest tube to assist her breathing. The doctors have decided to keep her in a medically induced sleep for a few days to help her body recover.”
His stomach twisted. “And Max and Kelly? Her parents?”
“We’ve called multiple times. No answer.”
Daniel clenched his jaw. “I’ll be there in ten.”
The hospital smelled of antiseptic and something too clean to be comforting. Daniel rushed through the corridors, his pulse hammering in his throat as he found Yn’s room.
Nothing could have prepared him for the sight.
She lay there, pale against the hospital sheets, her face bruised, her arm wrapped in gauze. Tubes ran from her chest, connected to a machine that beeped steadily.
A nurse—young, with kind eyes—stood by the bedside, adjusting the IV. She looked up as he entered. “Are you Daniel?”
He swallowed. “Yeah.”
“I’m Nurse Emily. She’s stable for now.”
He approached the bed slowly, his heart aching. “Jesus, kid…” He ran a shaky hand through his hair before sitting beside her.
For a moment, he just stared at her. Yn, who had always been so full of life, so determined to carve her own space in a world that never seemed to make room for her. Now she lay still, fragile in a way he had never seen before.
He reached out, brushing her hair from her forehead. “I’m here, Yn,” he whispered.
Emily hesitated before speaking. “You’re the first person who answered.”
Daniel frowned. “What do you mean?”
She sighed. “We called her parents over and over. No answer. No call back.”
Daniel’s hands curled into fists. “They didn’t even pick up?”
Emily shook her head. “Not once.”
Daniel let out a slow, furious breath. Then he pulled out his phone and called Max.
Voicemail.
He tried Kelly.
Voicemail.
Grinding his teeth, he left a message. “Max. Kelly. Your daughter is in the hospital. She was in a bad car accident. Call me back. Now.”
An hour passed. Nothing.
Two hours.
Three.
Four.
Yn remained unconscious, her chest rising and falling with the help of the machines. Daniel stayed at her side, his anger growing hotter with every minute.
When Max and Kelly finally walked through the door, he was ready.
Kelly looked tired. Max looked confused.
“Daniel, what’s going on?” Max asked, frowning.
Daniel stood up slowly. “What’s going on?” His voice was too calm. “You tell me, Max. Kelly. Where the hell have you been?”
Kelly blinked. “At home, we—”
“At home?” Daniel let out a sharp, humorless laugh. “Your daughter has been lying in this hospital bed for hours, and you were at home?”
Max’s expression darkened. “We didn’t get any calls.”
“Bullshit.” Daniel pulled out his phone and waved it. “I called you. The hospital called you. They tried for hours. But I guess you were too busy to notice your own daughter almost died.”
Kelly paled. “Died?” Her voice wavered as she looked at Yn. “Oh my God.”
Max took a step forward, but Daniel blocked him. “Don’t.” His voice was steel. “You don’t get to come in here now and pretend you care.”
Max’s jaw clenched. “Of course we care.”
Daniel scoffed. “Do you? Because she drove herself to ballet since neither of you could be bothered. She’s seventeen, Max. A kid. But she didn’t even ask twice because she already knew the answer.”
Kelly looked away, shame creeping into her features.
Daniel continued, voice shaking with anger. “She was alone when the accident happened. Alone when they brought her here. And when the doctors needed her parents, where were you?”
Silence.
Daniel exhaled sharply. “She’s used to this, you know?” His voice was quiet now, but no less furious. “She’s used to being second to Penelope, to the baby, to everything else in your lives. She doesn’t complain. She doesn’t make a fuss. She just… deals with it.” He swallowed hard. “But this? This she couldn’t deal with alone.”
Max ran a hand down his face, guilt creeping in. “I—”
“I don’t want excuses,” Daniel snapped. “I want you to do better.”
Kelly’s eyes filled with tears. “Can we see her?”
Daniel stepped aside. “She’s been waiting long enough.”
Max walked to the bed, his hands trembling as he reached for Yn’s fingers. “Oh, sweetheart…” His voice broke.
Kelly sat on the other side, her hand covering her mouth as silent tears slipped down her face.
Daniel crossed his arms, watching.
They could cry all they wanted. But the real question was—would they change?
And for Yn’s sake, they damn well better.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
So a bit of background first for our international followers: Clive Palmer is one of Australia's many mining billionaires who like to meddle in our country's politics, and as such he is utterly despised by all of Australia.
Picture for context:
Tumblr media
He is most commonly known online by the title "Fatty McFuckhead", (problematic as it may be) because he tried to sue a youtuber for $500,000 for calling him that - and he lost. So the name stuck.
Tumblr media
Up until his most recent foray into parliament, the legally certified Fuckhead was best known for his batshit business ventures, such as attempting to build "The Titanic 2" (failed) and trying to build a dinosaur theme park (also failed, but at least nobody got eaten by a T-Rex in this one).
For a very long time Clive played the role of sugar daddy to Australia's largest conservative party, the ironically named Liberal Party, until they had a falling out in 2012 after Clive claimed there was too much money influencing politics (lol), at which point he started his own party, days after saying he totally quit and wasn't fired and he only left because he didn't want to be a distraction.
His initial run at parliament was actually kinda successful, with Palmer's group winning 4 seats, plus a member from the "Motoring Enthusiasts Party" joined them too after accidentally getting elected and not knowing what the fuck to do.
Despite this initial success however, Palmer's party (which ran on basically no platform other than "I'm rich") hit an iceberg (titanic 2 achieved) and seven elected state and federal politicians quit within the first year.
Tumblr media
By the time the next federal election rolled around, only one Palmer party candidate was still running for re-election. The most successful of this group - Jaquie Lambie - quit to sit as an independant and is still in parliament today.
Here she is with a painting of herself strangling Clive (she sells signed copies of this)
Tumblr media
And here the senator is posting about liking sausage:
Tumblr media
Anyway, we're getting to the point: which is the yellow posters. By the 2016 election, just two years after forming, the party was in complete freefall. It won just 0.01% of the vote at their second election, and it was announced shortly after that Clive was quitting politics and the party was being shut down. Australia breathed a sigh of relief.
It was, of course, short lived.
Clive, in desperate need of attention, restarted the party for the 2019 election, fielding candidates in every seat and spending $60 million in advertising in an attempt to win votes.
Every single candidate lost.
It was in this campaign however that Australia really started to fall out of love with Palmer, because most of that $60 million went towards putting up the world's least compelling marketing billboards on almost every single free space in the country.
For a good six months this was basically the only thing you would see in Australia if you went outside:
Tumblr media
Clearly Graphic design is his passion. And yes, the genius did just straight up try and copy Trump's homework while changing a few words, hoping nobody would notice.
Very quickly these all got vandalised and it seemed the ad companies didn't care enough to replace them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We could go on posting examples, there are thousands, but the best is definitely the one Ikea put up shortly after Clive lost the election:
Tumblr media
In 2022, Clive's party contested the election AGAIN, this time also opting to send millions on spam text messages to every person in Australia begging for people to vote for him, as well as buying almost every youtube ad for a year, at the cost of $100 million.
He won a whopping one seat.
During this election Clive ran on an anti-lockdown, anti-vax platform with the slogan "freedom, freedom, freedom". That message, however, was slightly undermined when his goons, dressed in 'Freedom!' shirts, made national news for trying to beat up a protester who turned up at a rally dressed as an annoying text message, shouting "pay your workers" at Clive.
Tumblr media
As if that wasn't bad enough, at another rally Clive knocked himself unconscious while trying to jump up on stage, and then a few weeks later was rushed to hospital with covid, while his anti-vax ads were still in regular rotation on TV, at which point it was also leaked to the press that Palmer had been alledgedly trying to buy Hitler's car.
Utterly humiliated, the party deregistered again shortly after the election.
Can't wait until he runs again in 2025.
Anyway, on the other "Clive tweeting Miss Kobayashi's Dragon" thing, we have no idea what that means but here's a screencap:

exhusband Rafe finds out exwife has a new boyfriend and “lets her” date him while gathering info on him just to toy with her acting like he doesn’t know and then drive new bf away once he finds out they’ve been intimate
Tumblr media
when rafe found out you were seeing someone new, he didn't blow up. he didn’t show up at your door or start a fight like you expected.
no — that would’ve been easy. predictable.
instead, he got real quiet. real calculated.
"new boyfriend, huh?" He'd drawled on one of his drop-offs, leaning against his range rover like he had all the time in the world. "that the guy with the beat-up truck sittin' outside your house?"
you didn’t give him the satisfaction. just shrugged. "none of your business anymore, rafe."
and he smiled. that cold, coastal grin — like a shark right before it strikes.
"yeah, sure," he said. "not my business at all."
but it was.
behind your back? rafe had people looking into him. last name. where he worked. who he ran with. social media? picked apart. every tagged photo. every comment.
and the whole time — with every pickup, every drop off, every innocent run-in — rafe played dumb. sweet, even.
"hope he’s treating you right."
"y'know...not everybody's built for this life. being a stepdad."
"you trust him around our kid?" dripping with false concern.
he'd lull you into thinking maybe he’d matured. maybe he was letting you move on.
but the moment he found out you'd slept with him? the exact moment?
game over.
not loud. not messy. classic rafe.
one run-in at the gas station — just him and your boyfriend. a calm, borderline friendly conversation with an undercurrent sharp enough to bleed out a grown man.
"funny thing about her," rafe says, all slow and knowing, "she’ll act real independent...real done with me. but i break my back once — i mean, barely try — and she's right back where she belongs."
casual. cruel.
"enjoy it while you can, though. she gets real soft for me after a fight."
and then?
little things start happening. your boyfriend gets cold. stops texting back as quick. starts looking spooked anytime rafe’s name comes up.
until finally, one day — rafe’s dropping off your son and casually mentions, "shame about you two, huh? thought he might last longer."
and when you stare at him, furious — realizing what he’s done — he just shrugs. smug. unbothered.
"what?" he deadpans. "told you before, sweetheart — anybody in your bed's gotta be man enough to deal with me."
and unfortunately for you? no one ever is.

leon kennedy x fem!reader
Summary: Being an independent woman and a full time student is all fun and games until final’s season. Luckily, your not-quite academic rival Leon Kennedy is there to pick you up when you fall.
next
cw: Female pronouns and description used for reader but nothing detailed (no skin color, eye color, hair type, body type, etc.) This is basically just an x reader for my independent eldest daughters who do nothing but their absolute best all the time everyday and deep down want a hot guy with beefy arms to let them relax for a minute. So i guess expect the related issues that come with being an eldest daughter?
Tags/tropes: hurt/comfort, dom! leon if you squint, leon’s very touchy, leon being a gentleman!! probably ooc, i kinda struggled finding his voice :/
wc: 3.3k
a/n: wowee so i’m not rlly looking to be a full time author or anything but i could NOT get this idea out of my head and i figured i could give back to the tumblr fic community <3 here’s to everyone who wants hurt/comfort without smut, incest, or a needlessly specific reader! hope everyone’s recovering well from finals!
— ‎ ‧₊˚ 𓂃౨ৎ
The first time it happened, it honestly, truly, was an accident. A mistake, if you will. You would never willingly fall asleep on a random guy at a party. That is all kinds of bad for a number of reasons.
However. There were some… extenuating circumstances.
Finals. They’re a make-or-break for the first semester. Mostly just a break. In the sense that you contemplated how upset your parents would be at you if you dropped out and if the subsequent disowning would be worth it.
You did finals the same way you did everything. You worked. Studied. Borderline obsessed over it. Romanticized it so you could push through when the other’s resolve started dropping. Stayed home. Your friends bemoaned your “no-fun attitude” but they’re crying over their grades and you’re not, so.
Well. Actually you’re definitely crying over your grades, almost every day in fact. But not because they’re bad. Just because you’re tired. Really tired. The kind of tired that makes people have public breakdowns. But you can’t afford to have a public breakdown because you have to succeed at college and you have to work in order to stay on top of your bills and be able to send some money home to your family and make sure you have time to call your parents and make time for your sister to call you and vent because you didn’t have a you at her age and you wish you did so you have to be there for her and your friends need you to be there for them not to mention planning for how you’re going to use your degree after you graduate and—
Most of the time you try not to think about it.
So finals were over. And everyone wanted to celebrate. And you did, you promise. You’re totally the party girl type. Totally. (Maybe if you say it enough times it’ll come true?)
You don’t hate parties. You like dressing up and going out. It’s fun! It’s just… not your idea of an unwind. Not after you nearly ran yourself into the ground for a month straight for the sake of academic validation. You’d prefer to sleep for 72 hours straight. And maybe watch a movie at home in the sweatshirt you cried over your textbooks in. Maybe over a glass of wine? You’re not really sure. Relaxing never really goes well for you. It’s either depression-bed-rotting or full productivity.
Needless to say, you weren’t exactly thrilled to find yourself at this party. You’re not really sure how your friends convinced you.
But you’re here, in makeup and an outfit you like (you’re thankful this isn’t one of the ‘put on a tight dress and dance’ parties) and you just honestly want to go to bed. It’s a house party, so it’s not nearly as crazy as some of the other parties you’ve been (read: dragged) to, but still.
You’re on the couch, ignoring the smell of alcohol in the air and pretending the pounding baseline of the music coming from the speaker in the kitchen isn’t starting to give you a headache.
Ada Wong, a girl you’ve hesitantly dubbed your party friend, is sitting on your left, while the guy you can never quite tell what he is to her, is sitting on your right.
Leon Kennedy.
On a good day, Leon Kennedy is a smart, brooding, annoyingly capable guy who you share some of your classes with. On a bad day, he’s the bane of your existence. On a really bad day, you fantasize about all the ways you could kill him and turn the experience into a really good term paper.
It’s complicated. You’re smart. He’s smart. You tend to clash because neither of you like backing down from a challenge.
But right now, in this moment, at this party, the only thing you can think about is how fucking tired you are and how warm he is.
The music is so loud it drowns everything out in your brain. The few thoughts that make it through the overwhelm of sound are fuzzy and staticky. The cling and slip around in your head like syrup. The worst parts about parties are, funnily enough, working to cancel out the main reason you can’t fall asleep in your own bed at night: overthinking.
That and the fact that you haven’t sleep in forty-eight hours. An energy drink and an iced coffee count as a full nights sleep, right? You’re sure the heart palpitations are normal.
You manage to keep up with the steady flow of the group conversation, but as the night wears on, talking becomes harder and harder and just plain processing the words being said slowly turns into an impossible task. At some point, someone else squeezed onto the couch— you think it might be Chris? Ada did say he was coming late— so now you’re pressed against the one and only Leon Kennedy, and he’s radiating heat like a furnace.
Like you, he opted for a slightly more casual approach to the house party. Of course, he’s a guy, so his wardrobe was probably never that big, but still. It’s nice to see someone else in a sweatshirt and jeans.
You at least put on your favorite jeans! You call them your hot jeans, for self explanatory reasons. So what if you’re wearing an oversized sweatshirt? It’s cold!
You jolt in place, not realizing your eyes had slipped close and the conversation had continued on without you. Something prickles in the back of your head. An instinctual sort of thing.
Don’t fall asleep in public places.
Don’t fall asleep at someone’s house you don’t know.
You know the owner of the house, you think. You’ve been here once or twice. But you don’t know everyone at the party and where your friends have gone because they’re not in the group talking here and you should probably stand up soon, to wake yourself up, don’t let your friends down, don’t be that girl who falls asleep at the party, don’t—
You jolt again.
Wake up. You tell yourself. Leon’s looking at you out of the corner of his eye, but you ignore it.
It feels like a record skip. You’ll blink, and the conversation isn’t the same as when you first closed your eyes. The song isn’t the same. Were the lights always this bright?
“Whew!” Ada whistles from above. When did she stand up? “Someone’s got final’s exhaustion written all over their face!”
The group laughs and you do too, but it sounds different. Leon doesn’t. Why isn’t he laughing?
You jolt again. Harder this one. A full body shake. You wince as your knee knocks into Leon’s.
“Sorr—“
“Stop that.” He grumbles, and oh. A warm, solid hand snakes around your waist and pulls you closer. Closed to that warm, stupidly comfortable side.
This is wrong. It’s Leon. It’s Leon. You can’t. And this is a party, and your friends are here—
“Stop being stupid,” You can feel his chest rumble from where your cheek is pressed flush against it, and when did that happen? He picks up your left arm and drapes it across his stomach, then picks up your right arm and wraps it around his lower pack. “Squeeze.”
You listen, and wow. Who has time to go to the gym this much and be an academic rival? You feel like you’re slacking. Maybe you need to make time to get some—
“I can hear you thinking,” He says, voice deep and rumbly. It’s honestly a miracle you can hear him over the music. It’s probably because your face is pressed against his chest. If you strain, you can feel the dull thud of his heart.
“You have a heart?” You say, half-delirious with exhaustion. It comes out more as a question than a statement
“Mhm,” He rumbles. “I am in possession of one. Great observation princess.”
You frown into his chest. “Why are you always so mean? You call me that stupid name. I’m not a princess.”
“I’m not mean. Whoever said princess was a mean nickname? You decided that on your own.”
“Then how come you call me that?”
“Because,” He huffs, repositioning to a more slouched position that’s more comfortable for your neck. The arm tightens around your waist.
It’s nice. It’s possessive. Protective. No one’s ever really done that for you before. Usually it’s you doing the protecting.
You don’t want to relax. You can’t. You can’t.
“Because,” He continues, “Princesses need to be taken care of. Especially smart, stubborn princesses who never pause for one second. Not even when they should.”
You should get up. Apologize for how weird you’re being. Have another coffee or energy drink. Join the party. Do something that isn’t this.
“Go to sleep,” He says, his voice like a warm blanket settling and slipping into your mind. “Nothing‘s going to happen to you while I’m here. No one is going to be mad at you for sleeping. And if they are, I’ll kick their ass. Go to sleep.”
It’s easy to give in after that.
You sag, boneless. Like a puppet with it’s strings cut. You inhale deeply, breathing in the deep, rich scent that’s distinctly Leon.
Just for a few minutes. Because Leon’s watching. He won’t let something happen to you. Just for a few minutes. You’ll get up soon. You will.
He tucks you closer to him. “Sleep.”
You’re out like a light.
“No way, she’s actually asleep?”
“Holy shit Leon, did you drug her?”
“I did not.”
“Well, thanks, for whatever weird magic-spell you cast. Seriously. We’re all starting to get worried about her. She doesn’t take any breaks and she doesn’t let anyone help. Last week a librarian found her asleep on the printer. Fully standing.”
“Hmm.”
“I’m going to start inviting you to our apartment if it means she’ll actually get some fucking sleep. It’s unsettling finding her in the same position as when I left like, six hours beforehand.”
“Don’t worry. She’s in good hands.”
It’s horrific, running into him in the library.
What makes it more horrible is the fact that you’re ugly crying silently in the English textbook section, because it’s always empty. You’re ugly crying in the English textbook section of the university library and Leon Kennedy just walked into the aisle.
You sniff, lifting your head from your knees to stare up at him from the ground. He has a knack for finding you at your lowest, it would seem.
“We’ve got to stop seeing each other like this, princess.”
“Oh?” You sniff hard, running a hand across your face as if that will clear up your red rimmed, puffy eyes, the tear tracks on your face, or the flush on your nose. The action at least wipes away the snot. “I wasn’t aware you ever fell asleep on me at a party. Did I ever find you crying in the English textbook section of the library?”
He tilts his head. “Why the English textbook section? It’s one of your best subjects.”
“It’s the emptiest section. Plus, anyone looking for an English textbook at this hour isn’t going to bat an eye at me.” You wrap your arms around your legs and hug them to your chest. “What are you doing here?”
“One of your roommates called Ada. They said you haven’t been home since this morning. They thought you might’ve been at hers, or with me.”
You snort. “It’s like they don’t even know me.”
He rolls his eyes. “I think they were hoping you’d be there. I think anyone who knows you knew you’d be here.”
“Crying in the English section?”
“In the library, dumbass.”
He stalks forward, leaning back against the bookshelf across from you and sliding his hands into his sweatpants pockets.
“Tell me. Is your pathological avoidance to asking for help conscious or not?”
You kick out, one shoed foot catching him in the shins. “Dick.”
He shrugs. “Just want to know. I can’t exactly gloat over scoring two points above you if you’re not in top form. I want a fair fight.”
“Is that what you're here for?” You ask suddenly, everything in your body going rigid. “You think this is funny?”
“No,” He says calmly. “I’m here because you’re being stupid again. You know what’s not healthy, or smart?”
He gestures to you. You, sitting on the floor, tears drying on your face. “This. Going out to parties to make your friends happy when you should be at home, sleeping. Studying for so long you end up looking like your boyfriend of eight years just broke up with you. Come on, princess. Where’s those brains you brag about?”
“They’re up here,” You tap your forehead. Against your will, your eyes burn, tears welling up, your face tightening. “And they’re tired.”
You drop your head into your hands, forgoing your silent crying of earlier in the place of open mouth sobbing. You can’t help it. You’re just so tired. So done with it all. With trying to keep up, with trying to make space, with trying to make time. With doing your best and it not being enough. You’re tired of being tired.
“Annnd there it is. Come here.”
He lowers himself to the floor next to you, tucking you close in a similar fashion as that night at the party.
“Come on, same thing as before. Hold onto me. Give yourself a minute.”
You wrap your arms around his middle, same way as last time, burying your face into his shoulder. Someone could see. Someone you know might see you crying and think—
He reaches a hand up and pulls the hood of your sweatshirt over your head.
“There. Now no one can see your face. Stop worrying. Just cry, princess.”
You sniffle. “I’m getting snot on your sweatshirt.”
“It’s had worse on it.”
“Gross.”
You can practically feel the eye roll. “Can you stop being dirty-minded and focus on something productive? Like crying? Or not crying, if that would make you feel better.”
You shift, so your head is lying against his shoulder instead of smashed into it like before.
“Why do you care if I feel better?”
Why do you care?
He shrugs against you.
“Told you,” He pushes your hood back a bit, tapping you on the forehead with his pointer finger. “My competition’s no fun if she’s not taking care of herself. How else is she gonna kick my ass?”
“I can take care of myself just fine. I don’t need you to swoop in here, Leon.”
“Mhm,” He says. “And i’m sure you do great at it, considering you’re still alive and kicking my ass at those stupid socratic seminars. Consider this… self-care. In the face mask, getting your nails done way.”
“Who taught you self care?”
“Ada. We have face mask nights.”
You jolt up. “Is she—“
“She’s not my girlfriend, we’re not fucking, no she’s not going to be upset or care in any way about this. Calm down.”
You begrudgingly settle back against him.
“If anything,” He continues. “She’ll be excited to see you at more parties in the coming months.”
You frown. “I never said—“
“You only go to parties if your friends physically drag you or when you feel confident enough in your grades and the general state of your life. It’s really easy to tell which version of you shows up to the party. It’s the way you dress.”
“How so?”
He shifts slightly. Guilt twinges in your stomach as you realize how uncomfortable he must be.
“You wear your pick-me-up pants when you’re dragged there. The ones that make your ass look great.”
You sit up with a gasp. “My hot pants?”
He raises an eyebrow. “Is that what you call them?”
Your brain catches up to the rest of what he said. “Hold on. Did you just say—“
“I said what I said. I’m assuming there’s a reason you call them your hot pants.”
He smirks, and you flush.
“Moving onto more pressing matters,” He tilts his head at you. “You have two options this evening. Either I take you back to your place and you sleep in your own bed, or you come to my place and we binge watch the Oceans movies until you fall asleep.”
“How did you know I like the—“
“The icebreaker for club thing. You said they were your favorite movies.”
You look up at him. “You remembered?”
“You were wearing your hot jeans.”
“You’re the worst.”
He scans your face for a moment, eyes sparking with mirth and a little something less innocent. “Maybe.”
You sigh and lean back against him, exhaustion from all your crying hitting you at once.
“Nuh-uh, no sleeping here. You gotta pick one. My place or yours?”
You frown into his shoulder. “Ugh. Fine. Yours, but only because I wanna watch the Ocean’s movies. You better not have a disgusting frat house.”
“I do not. I do have popcorn and ice cream.”
“Ada bought those, didn’t she?”
“Nope,” He says, nudging you with his shoulder to stand. You clamber in gracefully to your feet, your head starting to pound. “Chris likes to have movie nights. It pays to be well stocked.”
Your cheeks warm as a large, steadying hand finds its way to the small of your back. “How many of my friends are you friends with?”
“I was friends with them first.”
“Ass.”
He chuckles incredulously. “For having friends?”
“Yes,” You say, letting him pull you to his side while you walk to your table where you left your stuff. Probably not the best idea to leave your entire net-worth unattended, but whatever. You were going through it. “How dare you.”
“Mmm. I see. My apologies, princess. I’ll tell Chris and Ada.”
“You get on that.”
You can’t help but smile as he helps you pack up your things, passing you items across the table and carefully zipping up your pencil case.
“Don’t touch my papers, I have a system.”
“Is the system absolute chaos?”
“Shut up.”
Once everything is packed up, you zip up your backpack, but before you can sling it on, Leon’s arm darts out and snags it right out from under you.
Your expression grows pinched. “I can carry my own bag, Leon.”
“I know you can.”
“Give me my bag.”
“No.”
You groan. “Why do you want to carry my bag?”
“See, there’s this thing called chivalry—“
“Oh my god, shut up. When have you and chivalry ever been synonymous?”
He shrugs. “Ever since I met the girl in the hot jeans who regularly kicks my ass academically.”
“You’re ridiculous.”
“Mmm,” He hums, wrapping an arm around your waist and walking you towards the doors to the library. “And you’re stubborn. Come on. Brad Pitt and George Clooney are waiting for you.”
You sigh dramatically, hiding a small smile in your hand.
Maybe you could get used to this.

the classroom was unbearably dull. numbers blurred together on the whiteboard, and the droning sound of negans voice filled the room. normally, his deep, confident voice was something you found intoxicating, but not when he was talking about maths. hell, you hated maths. it was nothing but a collection of confusing numbers and equations you didn’t care for.
but negan?
oh, you cared about him.
your dark, forbidden secret. your thrill.
for seven months, you had been entangled in a secret affair with your teacher. he was everything you weren’t supposed to have, and that made it all the more exhilarating. the risk, the stolen moments, the way he looked at you when no one else was watching. you weren’t just his student; you were his, in every way that mattered.
and lord, was this intoxicating.
right now, negan stood at the front of the room, writing on the board, his muscles flexing beneath the tight fabric of his shirt. the way he moved, the way his strong hands moved as he wrote on the board, had you absolutely hypnotized. every once in a while, he would steal a glance at you, a smirk tugging on his lips as if he knew exactly what was running through your mind. he always did.
warmth began to spread in your whole body the longer you watched him, flashbacks of how you guys had just fucked a few days ago clouding your mind. he always fucked you so good, it was addicting and always left you longing for more.
as he continued to explain a new topic, which you had zero interest in, an idea sparkled in your head. why should you have been the only one who suffered? you wanted him to crave you as much as you craved him in that certain moment.
a grin was plastered on your face as you reached for your phone under the desk. you waited until he sat down at his desk, giving the class independent work. then, with deliberate mischief, you typed out a message. your heart pounded as you hit send and your eyes wandered to the front.
negan’s phone buzzed beside him. his head tilted slightly, curiosity flashing across his face as he reached for it. the moment he saw your name pop up on the screen, his sharp eyes locked onto yours. you leaned back in your chair, biting your lip teasingly as you watched him read the message.
what i’d do right now to have you fuck my brains out until your name is all i can remember, daddy.
his entire demeanor shifted. you could see it. his jaw clenched, his fingers tightened around the phone for a second before he placed it back down with a controlled exhale. you knew exactly what you were doing. teasing him had always been your favorite game. his nostrils flared slightly, and his tongue ran over his bottom lip. you knew that look.
trouble.
you had lit a fire, and you knew you’d be dealing with the consequences soon. and you were fucking in for it.
for the rest of the lesson, tension crackled in the air between you. every time he glanced your way, his dark eyes were filled with unspoken promises. you could barely sit still, your pulse racing in anticipation. you felt the heat creeping up your neck as the minutes dragged on until, finally, the bell rang.
“alright, get outta here,” negan announced, his usual smirk in place as the students began packing up. “try not to forget everything i just taught you the second you step out the door.”
you stood up, gathering your things, and made your way toward the exit—only to be stopped by his voice.
“not you.”
your stomach flipped. you turned to see him leaning back in his chair, arms crossed, his gaze locked on you. the last student filed out of the room, closing the door behind them. the second you were alone, he stood up, his pointer finger making curling motions— signing you to come closer. with shaky legs, you slowly moved towards his desk. his huge form was now towering over you, his hands resting flat on the wooden surface. his brown eyes were filled with something dangerous, boring right into your soul.
“you like teasing me, huh?” his voice was low, rough, sending a shiver down your spine. he leaned in closer, only inches away from your face, the air between you charged with electricity. “you think it’s funny to send me shit like that in the middle of my damn class?”
you bit your lip, tilting your head slightly. “i don’t know what you mean, mr. smith.” your voice was full of innocence but the look in your eyes was telling a different story. negan chuckled darkly, shaking his head before reaching for you. his hand wrapped around your throat, just squeezing in the lightest bit, just enough to make your breath hitch.
“that mouth of yours is gonna get you into a lot of trouble, sweetheart.”
your lips parted slightly, your pulse racing by now. “maybe that’s what i want.”
he exhaled sharply, his grip tightened before he yanked you closer, his lips crashing against yours in a heated, bruising kiss. his beard scraped deliciously against your skin as he pulled you even closer, forcing you to take everything he gave to you. the kiss was rough, possessive, his dominance unmistakably. his free hand moved to your waist, letting his fingers dig into the soft flesh. you couldn’t stifle a moan which was right swallowed by negan’s mouth.
when he finally pulled back, his breath was hot against your lips. “that what you wanted?” you licked your lips, your voice just above a whisper. “not enough.”
negan chuckled darkly. “greedy little thing.” his fingers trailed up and down your side before he took a step back, his smirk returning full force. “i’d love to teach you a lesson right here, right now, doll. but…” he glanced around the empty classroom. “something tells me we’d be interrupted.” you groaned in frustration, making him huff out amusingly, his fingers now gripping your chin. he leaned in again, his voice dropping to a growl. “meet me after school. by my car.”
your stomach flipped in excitement. “yes, sir.” his grip tightened as he let a finger trace over your bottom lip. “good girl.”
with that, he released you, stepping back as if nothing had happened. “now get outta here before i change my mind.” while nodding your head, you turned on shaky legs, heading for the door. just as you reached for the handle, he called out one last time.
“oh, and sweetheart?”
you looked over your shoulder, finding his gaze dark and filled with promise.
“you’re in for a long night.”

school finally ended to your huge relief. since negan’s lesson you couldn’t think straight anymore, all you could think of was him and what he would do to you. and you couldn’t wait to find out. the whole day long this fire in your core wouldn’t vanish, just the imagination of what would happen later got you fucking soaked.
the sun was slowly starting to set as you walked towards the teacher’s parking lot, your heartbeat picking up speed as you spotted negan. he was leaning against his car, just finishing a cigarette. as soon as he saw you, that signature smirk curled his lips. “took you long enough, sweetheart.” he teased, flicking the cigarette to the ground and crushing it under his boot. “thought you might’ve decided to avoid tonight’s destiny.”
you scoffed. “not a chance.”
he chuckled, biting his bottom lip as he opened the car door for you. “get in.”
the command in his tone sent a shiver down your spine, and you obeyed without hesitation. as soon as you settled into the passenger seat, negan shut the door and rounded the car, sliding into the driver’s seat. the air inside felt thick, heavy with tension.
the engine rumbled to life, but the real problem was the way his hand immediately found your thigh. you bit your lip as he started driving, his fingers resting there—warm, firm, possessive. you knew that he would do anything to repay you for that stunt you pulled earlier. and teasing was a good start.
he could feel how your body tensed up, how his sweet torture began to set in, began to affect you. but you tried your best to hide it, to play it cool. you didn’t want negan to win so easily, after all, you were the one who started this whole game.
negan let out a low chuckle, knowing damn well that your strategy wasn’t working. you turned your head sharply, eyeing him closely. “what?”
“nothing, doll.” he replied defiantly, keeping his eyes on the road while his smirk widened.
his hand slid higher, thumb now caressing your soft, covered flesh. you squirmed under his touch, your own body betraying you. your pulse sped up and your breath hitched when he slowly lifted his hand higher and higher, stopping by the waist band of your pants. “negan…” you breathed out, gripping the edge of the seat, trying to maintain some semblance of control, but he was relentless. “what?” he copied you, a devilish expression plastered on his face.
you just sighed out, knowing that there was no way you could win this. so you just gave in, let it happen. let him have the victory. “that’s what i thought.” he rasped, looking at you with darkened eyes, his digits slowly slipping into your pants.
a groan almost escaped negan’s mouth when he felt that wet spot on your panties. “look at that, doll. i haven’t even touched her yet and she’s fucking soaked.” he didn’t waist another second to force his digits inside your panties, immediately finding your hardened nub. he began to rub slow, delicate circles around it, eliciting quiet moans from you.
his fingers slid down, circling your wet entrance while collecting your slick before he dragged it up again and continued to stimulate your clit faster. your breath was getting heavier and heavier, your poor hole clenched around nothing— desperate to cum and to be stuffed full of him.
“that’s a good girl.” he murmured, glancing sideways to watch your reactions. you could slowly feel how that sweet coil in your stomach began to tighten, waves of pleasure running through your whole body. your hand gripped his wrist, feeling his motions and how fast he worked on your clit. your eyes were closed, mouth agape and a string of moans left your lips.
but then suddenly, when you were just one or two minutes away from your high, he completely pulled away. it was so quick, that you didn’t even register that his hand was removed from your pants at first. instantaneously, your eyes snapped open, a confused mask covered your face as you turned to look at him. “daddy…” your voice was a mere whisper, a pout forming on your lips.
“now don’t be such a needy little thing, doll.” he grinned as he turned the engine off. and that’s when you first realized that you were already at his home. the whole care ride long you had been caught up by the pleasure he gave to you.
he got out of his car, while you opened the door with a trembling hand. as soon as you stepped out, he had you thrown over his shoulders, walking towards the entrance. a small yelp escaped your mouth as you held onto his leather jacket tightly. “gonna have so much fun with you, baby.” he groaned as he slapped your ass with force, making you squirm at the sudden pain.
the second the front door shut behind you, he was all over you. he had set you down, gripping your waist as he as he pinned you roughly against the cool surface, his hand on your throat. “time for your fucking lesson,” he murmured against your lips before hoisting you up, his hands gripping the back of your thighs, carrying you towards his bedroom while his lips captured yours in a messy, heated kiss.
he pushed the door open, immediately making a straight beeline to his bed. in a flash, he had you thrown on the bed, his dark eyes staring down at you—filled with lust. you propped yourself up on your elbows, glancing up at him with your prettiest doe eyes. “you have no idea how hard it was for me to control myself today, baby.”
“you didn’t actually think that you’d get away with this shit, right?” he crawled on top of you, caging you underneath his body, his voice a low growl against your ear.
“wasn’t my intention to.” you replied defiantly, wrapping your legs around his torso to pull him closer. “you’re a real brat today.” he smirked, pressing a kiss to your collarbone. you closed your eyes, finally receiving what you wanted so bad, but in a matter of seconds, you suddenly couldn’t feel his weight on you anymore. “strip.”
your eyes snapped open at his words, catching him towering over you by the edge of the bed—his face was dead serious, nothing playful covered it anymore. “now.” his tone was so low, it almost seemed intimidating to you. you didn’t spend another thought before you shuffled to your feet, tearing your shirt off. his eyes were on you the whole time, his intense stare was sending shivers down your spine. next, you unbuttoned your pants, pushing them down your legs until you stood in front of him in only your lingerie.
he crossed his arms as his eyes seemed to darken even more. “all of it.” it was scary to watch how quickly he could change his whole demeanor. but that was exactly what you loved about negan— his harsh, dominant behavior.
hesitatingly, you reached back, unclamping your bra and tossing it away, which was quickly followed by your panties. “good girl. on your knees.” he instructed, and immediately you obeyed him, sinking down right in front of him. you watched him through your lashes, waiting for his next move. he eyed you closely, oh, how desperate you were looking at him, how your thighs rubbed together to relief that ache in your core if even just in the lighted bit. his cock hardened even more at the sight, there was no way he could wait any more seconds to finally feel your plump lips wrapped around him.
“what the hell are you waiting for? start.” he growled, gesturing to the bulge right in front of you. while keeping your eyes on him, your hands reached for his belt, unbuckling it before you unzipped his pants, pushing them down his legs. his onyx eyes darkened even more when you wrapped your fingers around the waistband of his boxer briefs, finally letting his cock spring free. negan stepped out of his clothes and removed his shirt, impatiently waiting for you to continue.
your stare wandered to his rock-hard dick, admiring the way it throbbed with need. his tip was angry red, beads of pre-cum leaking out of it, a small whimper leaving your lips. that burn in your core only seemed to get stronger and stronger. your mind was too dizzy to care about keeping your confidence up, or to tease him further. in an instant, your hand wrapped around it, squeezing a little bit before you began to pump him. negan immediately hissed out, his hand reached for the roots of your hair, pulling firmly. “c’mon suck daddy’s cock like a good little girl.”
you brought your lips to his cock, pressing a few kisses to the shaft, licking along that vein before you finally wrapped your lips around his swollen tip. with an impatient groan he pushed his cock into your mouth, immediately bucking his hips forward when the warmth of your mouth welcomed him. you tried your best to relax your throat, trying not to gag— which never really worked out.
you began to bob your head back and forth while sucking firmly—creating a pleasant vacuum. “fuck, doll. fuuuck.” he growled, his grip just tightening. your pussy throbbed, god, you needed him. you could feel how your juices oozed out of you, coating both your thighs. your movements only sped up, taking him faster and faster, determined to bring him to his high. negan couldn’t— he couldn’t hold back anymore. his senses were taken over by the sweet feeling of your mouth.
his free hand joined the other, completely grabbing ahold of your head as he began to fuck into your mouth. you opened your mouth wider, letting him use your hole for his own pleasure. “just like that, baby.” he grunted as he pushed your head forward in rhythm with his thrusts, causing you to gag around his length. he didn’t care a bit how much you sputtered, how many tears streamed down your face and thrusted his cock deeper into you. you quietly sobbed, looking up at him through a blurry vision as he hit the back of your throat over and over again.
negan glanced back down at you, loving the way your tears coated your cheeks, how powerless you were beneath him. you could feel how his dick twitched frantically, his movements turning harsher. “gonna cum into that pretty mouth of yours.” you moaned in reply, sending vibrations through his cock.
your hands gripped his thighs for support as he moved in and out of your hole, chasing his release. “fuck, baby!” his voice was a deep rasp as he bucked his hips into you, pulling you flush against him until the tip of your nose touched his pelvis. a strangled cry rang through the room as you squirmed beneath him, your nails digging into his flesh. and then, you could feel how his thick liquid spurted down your throat, holding your head in place to make sure you got every last drop of it. the heavy, salty taste of his cum immediately overcame your senses.
with a deep groan he pulled out and released the grasp on your hair. “c’mon, swallow.” he breathed as his hand gripped your gin, forcing you to look up at him. you innocently blinked at him a few times before you swallowed everything he gave to you. “fucking, good girl.” he devilishly chuckled, his thumb gliding over your bottom lip.
“now, get up.” he commanded, gesturing to the bed. “i want you on all fours. head down, ass up.”
your legs instantly moved toward the bed, crawling on top of it on your hands and knees, placing yourself in the middle, exactly the way he ordered. negan watched you with sharp eyes in this submissive position, a growl ringing through the room at the sight of your glistening pussy. only on display for him. he could feel how his cock hardened again, it was always so easy when it came to you.
during class, even just a small glance to your cleavage—which you always wore intentionally for him to see—got him going.
“hands to your back.” were the last words you registered—obeying him—before he got on the bed, positioning himself right behind you. a small whimper left your lips as you felt his tip nudging your entrance. “please.”
smack.
a stinging pain cursed through your body.
he gripped where your wrists crossed, pulling your upper body up. you could sense how he leaned down, how the heat radiated off his body. “are you gonna tease me like that again?”
smack.
“or have you made up your mind to finally behave and be a good girl for daddy?” he was so close, his hot breath was tickling the skin of your neck.
“yes! i’ll be good, i promise! just— please!” your words came out as a pathetic, desperate whine, your cunt was begging to be filled. that all too familiar chuckle rang through your ears as he straightened up again, placing a hand on your hip. “what do you want, doll?”
“negan! please— fuck me!” you couldn’t take it anymore, every nerve in your body screamed for release. you were so needy, you started to wriggle your hips, pushing them back against his cock but he kept still. a frustrated groan came out of your mouth as a tear glided down your cheek. “negan, i swear i’ll be—fuck!” you cut yourself off mid-sentence with a scream as your eyes rolled to the back of your skull.
negan just forced his entire length inside of you with a harsh thrust, completely bottoming out. “oh my god!” you cried out as your mouth hung open, trying to get used to this sharp pain abusing your lower body. you could never get used to him, not in this world. his cock was something different.
“you feel so fucking good, baby.” he grunted, gripping your flesh tighter as he began to move in slow, shallow thrusts, your wetness making it easy for him. your face contorted, the sting of his size cutting through you but the pleasure you received easily drowned it out. his tip pressed delicately against that one spot—settled deep inside of you—which he knew you loved so much. “you alright, sweetheart?”
“yes, harder! please, daddy.” you whimpered and as soon as he heard your words, his pounds got harsher, got faster. negan got lost in the way your walls wrapped around him so perfectly, how they helplessly clamped down on him. his eyes focused where your bodies connected, where he glided in and out of you so effortlessly, how your hole swallowed him up. “fuck— you’re taking me so well, baby. gonna fuck you stupid.”
your back arched in ecstasy when he wrapped a hand around your torso—releasing your wrists— and pulled you up even more, forcing your back to arch uncomfortably. a string of high pitched moans left your lips when he was able to hit that sensitive spot inside of you with great force, igniting sparks. “negan, negan,” you cried out at his strength and how good he was making you feel. and you could say, you were at a point where his name was all you could remember.
“that’s it, doll. scream my name.” he grunted, clashing his hips even rougher against your ass. you could feel how his free hand slid down your sides, tracing a line down to your core before he spanked it, making you squeal out in reply. “you like that, huh? you like getting fucked like the slut you are?”
“mmhh— yes, negan!” you managed to splutter out as he began to rub your clit in furious circles. the sudden sensation sent sparks through your whole body, making your thighs quiver uncontrollably. this only fueled your intense pleasure, and you could sense how that tingly feeling in your abdomen got stronger and stronger.
negan groaned when he felt your walls contracting around him, squeezing him so perfectly tight. “you feel so good, baby, fuck! are you gonna cum, sweetheart?” he breathed into your ear, licking the spot beneath it. “yesss—i’m close!” your eyes were shut and your head tossed back to lean against his chest. “not without my permission.” he chuckled darkly as he pulled out of your hole, the circles on your clit stopping as well.
a pathetic cry fell from your lips.
he actually pulled out of you.
your nearing orgasm faded away in mere seconds as tears pricked in your eyes. “negan… i— please.” you begged him, you needed him to fill you up again, needed him to make you orgasm. but this was his torture, his way of making you pay. he knew how much you hated it when he edged you, when he denied your orgasm. it was always amusing for him to watch. how your moans and begs turned even more desperate, how you would do anything to make him continue. you always were on his mercy. every single time.
“have you learned your lesson?” he growled, sending a harsh slap to your ass. “god! yes, i swear i’ll be good.”
“you’re lucky i love that sweet pussy of yours so much.” he smirked, and in the blink of an eye he had filled you to the brim again. this time he was so deep, you could feel his tip kissing your cervix. immediately, he was pistoning in and out of you like a fucking animal, he was giving you all he had. “negannnn!!” it really was the only word that seemed to come out of your mouth. he was the only thing you could think of—it was like he had a spell over you.
his fingers went back to assaulting your poor clit and in mere seconds that knot began to tighten again. with all that pent up frustration, that teasing, your highly craved orgasm seemed to come even quicker.
you knew you were on the verge of cumming, you just needed him to go even rougher. "f-faster, negan." you managed to choke out and he didn't need to hear that twice. with his head tipping back in ecstacy, he increased the speed of his hips clashing against your ass. his deep, harsh pounding, the abuse on your poor aching clit, the sound of skin clapping roughly together, the intense smell of sex in the room— it was all too much for you.
“fuck! i- i’m cumming!” a pornographic moan echoed through the whole house, the coil in your stomach finally snapped and pushed you off the edge. a long and powerful orgasm crashed through you as you threw your head back in bliss. negan pressed a calloused hand into the flesh above your pelvis, making your high all the more intense. and you thought you were seeing stars. you couldn't help yourself but screamed out his name, rolling it off your tongue in the most ecstatic way possible.
“yeah—cum all over my cock, little slut.” negan snarled, focusing on his own pleasure now completely. he kept his demonic pace up as he pushed your body forward again. your face was mushed up against the sheets and your hands hand onto them for dear life.
you almost thought you were passing out. the sensations you got to experience were indescribable. you were still lost in your previous orgasm, the after waves sending shockwaves through your veins and not to forget the overstimulation on your clit. it had you squirming and squealing beneath him. “god, negan. please, s-slow down.”
in reply negan landed a firm slap to your ass, making you shriek at the sudden sting. “shut your mouth and take it like the fucking whore you are.” his words sent shivers down your spine as you felt another slap to your ass. by now his handprint must’ve been imprinted in red on your skin.
you were a mess, your whimpers grew louder and louder as you let him use you. his fingers finally removed from your clit as he gripped at your hips. his groans got louder and his breath sharper by second. you knew he was close. “you want daddy to fill that pretty pussy up?”
“yes, daddy! please!”
the aggressive slamming of his hips became more erratic as a deafening growl rang through your ears, you felt his cock twitching hard, filling your velvety walls with his thick ropes of cum. “fucking hell, doll!” he shamelessly grunted, pushing his seed deep inside of you.
you moaned at the sensation of feeling so full while he made sure that he emptied every bit in you. negan mumbled something beneath his breath before he stopped his thrusts, eventually pulling out. you whined at the sudden emptiness.
he collapsed beside you, pulling you with him in the process. your face was resting against his chest and you could hear his racing heartbeat as he tried to calm down from his high. your hand was drawing small circles over his skin, your breathing still hard.
“you did so good for daddy, sweetheart.” negan smiled as he pulled your face up. he pressed his lips to yours, claiming them in a slow, passionate kiss while pulling your exhausted form closer. “i should tease you more often.” you mumbled against his lips, a smirk plastered on your face.
“and i should punish you more often.” he chuckled, capturing your lips again.
if negan fucks you this intensely and roughly every time you’re teasing him, then this will become your new mission in every single class with him.

Day 14: Second Chance Romance
for @stmarchmm
Widows are supposed to have their time to grieve. They should be allowed to cry and adjust to their new life in peace, mourning their spouse in private.
Steve doesn’t mourn because he never loved his alpha in the first place.
But he’s not given any time before being sold off again regardless.
“I married Henry because you forced me to. I stayed with him as you asked. I was a good omega and faithful wife even though I had no choice. Why are you doing this to me again?” Steve dares to ask his parents.
He’s not distressed about Henry’s sudden death, but it’s too much all at once.
Leaving his home for the past ten years was a lot. Packing up and returning to Hawkins with the hopes of being accepted back into his family’s house was the minimum he had expected.
They haven’t even given him time to unpack before breaking the unhappy news.
“Steven, he can provide for you,” his mother states.
“I don’t care what kind of man he is! I obeyed your wishes once already. Can I not have a moment alone before you put me back to auction like the prized bitch you’ve made me into?” he snarls out.
Ten years with Henry has made him less docile, less willing to comply blindly.
Compliance has only ever offered him heartbreak.
Mrs. Harrington flinches back, seeming surprised by her son’s reaction. As if she was sure Steve would quietly agree to this.
As if she hadn’t stolen him away from the alpha he planned to spend his life with a decade ago.
She and his father ruined his life, selfishly destroyed his love.
They’d had his secret suitor arrested for daring to touch Steve without their permission. Then they’d only agreed to have Eddie released if Steve was obedient in marrying Henry.
He’d had no choice but to give up his personal freedom for the only man he’d ever truly loved.
And Eddie… ran away.
Now they have the gall to act surprised by his rage.
Henry dying was supposed to be Steve’s ticket to starting over anew. Eddie’s long gone, but he could still be an independent omega with his own life.
No pups with Henry to tie him down or keep him locked away at the Creel estate.
“Steven, come now, you’re being unreasonable. You haven’t even met your new alpha,” his father chastises. “He paid more than double your asking price and will no doubt keep you in comfort.”
They’re slightly more civil than they used to be, but Steve’s older and less afraid of them now too.
“I won’t do it. Henry didn’t care that I wouldn’t accept a mating bite, but what of this new one? Did you even ask him? Did you even think of me?” he challenges.
They have the nerve to look ashamed, but they give no real response to the questions.
It’s all he needs to hear to know their answers.
Steve lets out a shaky breath, attempting to calm himself. Maybe he’s gotten through to them and they’ll reconsider their decision.
This argument is fruitless either way.
He returns to his old room for the evening. It’s become guest quarters now, but it’ll do until he can make other arrangements.
It’s no surprise that he rests fitfully, mind full of anxiety over the future Steve’s parents are planning.
From the moment he presented as an omega, they’d only ever seen him as a burden and something to be profited from.
A meal ticket for them, rather than a beloved and cherished child.
That’s a key part of why Steve refused to have children with Henry. Henry was from an old family with traditional values like his own.
Steve was his obedient wife and any pups they produced would’ve been pawns in their chess game of society just the same.
He simply wouldn’t play the game anymore.
Losing his true love was already more than he’d ever willingly gamble again.
Even if he ran away and became an omega outcasted from proper society, Steve can’t imagine an outcome worse than the one he’d already endured.
What is there left to lose anymore?
His life has no real value.
That bleak thought is what finally lulls him to sleep.
When Steve wakes, it’s from men grabbing him out of his bed and dragging him into a carriage— an eerie flashback to ten years prior.
He should’ve known. His parents had done the same thing to him before.
A coward’s tactic.
Snatch him in the middle of the night and send him away before he can devise an escape plan.
He’s already crying before he’s even made it into the carriage properly, kicking and screaming without success as he’s shoved into the closed space against his wishes.
Nobody seems to care how he feels.
“Oh, sweetheart, shhhh. It’s alright now. Please don’t shed anymore tears, my love.”
Small correction: one person seems to care.
He’s not alone in the carriage evidently. A change from the last time. Henry had waited at the manor for him to arrive, not directly involved in his kidnapping.
But there’s a man in here with him.
It’s dark in the carriage, difficult to make out features beyond a groomed beard and exquisite garments whose gold filament threads pick up the moonlight.
As his parents said, his alpha must be a fairly wealthy man to offer more than double his asking price.
Steve is sure his price is far lower than it was before.
Widows who have left their prime years and have yet to produce a pup aren’t exactly as highly desired as virgins.
Still, there must be a reason this stranger wanted him and is speaking to him with such an affectionate familiarity.
“Please leave me be. I beg of you, sir. My late husband just passed recently and I’m not in a state fit to be a wife again yet. I wish to grieve in solitude,” he pleads shakily, staying as far away from the alpha as he can in the cramped space.
The alpha is unnervingly silent. A bad sign.
“I don’t mean to offend you, sir,” Steve rushes to clarify.
This man may well own him and make his life miserable if Steve managed to offend him already. Henry was many things, but senselessly cruel wasn’t one of them.
His new alpha could possibly be much worse than his last.
“So you did fall in love with him then?”
Steve is taken aback by the bold statement. It would be odd for him to admit the truth, but something in him says he shouldn’t lie.
“He was my husband. I held no other sentiments for him beyond societal bonds.”
The alpha shifts closer to him.
Steve runs out of space to move, so he plants himself firmly in his seat, trying to appear unafraid.
“I spent the last ten years of my life trying to rescue you, Stevie. Ten years of working hard and saving and doing anything to elevate myself to the status of a man who could afford to keep you.”
It doesn’t click right away. Not until the moonbeams come through the window just right and hits the alpha’s face.
He’s not just any alpha.
He’s Eddie, the love of Steve’s life. The man he gave up his future for and never thought he’d see again.
A former pauper boy, now wealthy and older.
Returned to save him.
Eddie cups his cheek gently, locking eyes with Steve and conveying shared feelings without words.
He kisses his nose.
“You came back,” Steve states in wonder.
“I poisoned him,” Eddie confesses without an ounce of remorse. “I knew Henry wouldn’t let you go, but I needed you to know that I still love you. I needed to free you from him.”
He should be upset with Eddie, but it’s the most romantic thing he’s ever heard.
Eddie didn’t flee town and look out for himself all those years ago, as would’ve been the wise choice
He’s returned as his alpha.
“You didn’t run away, Eddie.”
“I’d never run anywhere you couldn’t follow me, Steve.”

James Buchanan Barnes didn’t own you.
But he thought he did.
It was infuriating.
After a month of dating, you’d had your first fight. Bucky always paid whenever you went out, and last Sunday, when you both reached for the check at brunch, there was a slight tussle.
You laughed as Bucky scowled, thinking he was joking, but he was dead serious about paying. You became indignant, and you may have called him a controlling crime boss.
Bucky definitely called you an entitled brat and you may have stormed away and walked home, refusing to get back in the car with him. Bucky followed you in his sportscar as you pretended he wasn’t there.
You were shaking with rage by the time you reached your brownstone and Bucky parked illegally.
“Frumoasă, let’s talk–”
“There is nothing to talk about, James. If you can’t respect my boundaries, then I don’t know what to say. I need space. Time to think.”
You glanced at him, but you looked away from the hurt on his face.
“What does that mean?”
You cringed at the hurt in his voice.
“I– we. Listen, you were right. We went way fast with this. It’s a lot, Jamie.”
You loved the fuck out of this man, but you felt like you couldn’t breathe.
“Are you breaking up with me?”
Bucky’s voice cracked and you looked up into his ocean blue, watery eyes.
“No?”
“Are you sure?”
“No. I’m not sure, James.”
“I thought you were mine?”
You paused and took a deep breath.
“You don’t own me. You can’t do whatever you want…”
Bucky just looked at you as if he were about to debate that fact. Then, he raised his hands and backed away.
“Our dinner date still stands. Maybe Saturday night, we can talk about this like adults…”
Your ire was raised once again.
“I am an adult, Bucky. And you are too. You should listen to me when I-”
Bucky interrupted you and ran his hand through his hair, which he had been growing out. Just for you. He was extremely frustrated.
“This relationship has been predicated on nothing but your boundaries.”
It was a standoff. You two stared at each other, an invisible wall between you. You didn’t like how it felt.
“Like I said, we need a break.”
“We agree on something, at least.”
Bucky turned and walked back to his car, and you both closed your doors at the same time, hearts beating out of tune.
—-
You only cried for a couple of hours that day, but when you woke up to no good morning text from Bucky on Monday morning, you cried again. You were hurt, angry and anxious. Were you two over and done with? You threw yourself into work, trying not to feel your emotions.
By Tuesday, Bucky was being driven mad with images of you, sensations of holding you in his arms, feeling your body around him, your voice telling him that you loved him.
Steve sensed his mood, but did not press him, just complied when Bucky asked him to speed up the timeline to divest themselves of all illegal enterprises.
On Wednesday, you were feeling some kind of way. How dare he just ignore you and pretend you didn’t exist. Was he trying to punish you or something? You didn’t realize how much Bucky’s attention mattered to you. But you bet he knew very well. You decided to have big, big fun that night with your girls.
Of course, Bucky still had eyes on you, so he knew you were safe, but he told Nico and crew to fall back a little. He didn’t want to crowd you. But he was going crazy at the fact that you didn’t reach out to him. He was giving you the space you requested and hoped that you would come back to him of your own accord. He wasn’t going to force you to do anything. It was a matter of principle, not pride.
At least that was what he told himself.
There were some things you needed to understand, however.  Bucky was just trying to take care of you. You loved him, and he loved you. This thing was destiny. And you couldn’t run from that.
Wednesday night, he got a text from you. He sighed as he headed toward your location.
—-
You wore a more revealing outfit than you usually did. You were wearing a backless top that showcased your braless breasts and the cool night had sharpened your nipples into hard peaks, pressing through the thin material. You may have been thinking about Bucky tearing the top off of you roughly, or taking off carefully, or leaving it on you as he fucked you.  He would still pay attention to your nipples no matter what. You were horny for your man, and not thinking about tempting anyone else.
So you decided to break the ice and send him a selfie.
When Bucky didn’t respond, you got angry all over again. How dare he just continue to ignore you? You were a queen, and you were going to act like one. You went to the club, got tipsy, and acted as if you were in college again, taking drinks from anyone who offered. And there were lots of offers. You danced with your girls, and later, with the men who bought you drinks.
It was all harmless fun, right?
Through the crowd and the flashing lights, you saw a familiar profile, a head of hair and those unmistakable shoulders. Bucky was there, and his body language indicated that he was aware and interested in what you were doing.
So you gave him a show.
A woman came up to him and he looked down at her, a small smile on his lips. A jolt of jealousy rocked your body when he moved to a quiet corner with her and of all the colors in the club, all you could see was red. When she smiled up at him and her hand reached for his arm, you began grinding on the body behind you.
The man pulled you closer and practically yelled in your ear.
“You come here often?”
You rolled your eyes as his hands squeezed your hips and moved down.
“Yeah. Let’s just dance.”
You moved his hands away but then they glided over your stomach and skimmed your back, thumbs brushing dangerously near your top. He pulled you even closer and started grinding as you tried to keep his octopus arms off of you. You glanced toward the corner and saw one person talking on the other locked in on you. And then moving in your direction.
You were relieved and terrified, because what had you gotten yourself into?
And what was Bucky going to do now? He looked like an animal, stalking his prey, dangerous.
The stranger moved his hands again and you recoiled, just as Bucky’s hand landed on your bare shoulder.
“That’s enough. Time to go.”
The random guy chucked his chin up at Bucky.
“Who the fuck are you? Me and my girl are dancing here.”
You heard a record scratch, even though the music was still blaring.
“What did you say?”
Now you were afraid for this man’s life.
“C’mon James, let’s go. He’s drunk off his ass.”
You tried to pull him away, but he was not moved, staring down the man who would go down if Bucky breathed on him the wrong way. After a second, Bucky turned toward you, fury in his eyes.
You breathed a sigh of relief, even though you knew you were in for it. But Drunk Guy just had to open his mouth.
“Fucking whore. Acting like a slut on the dance floor and then leaving with this—”
And it was lights out for Drunk Guy, because Bucky Barnes laid him out flat with one punch.
Sam appeared out of nowhere to control the crowd as Bucky steered you through the crowd. His tense hand on your back sent a flash of dark excitement through you. He guided you by the elbow through the kitchen of the club. He took off his jacket and draped it around your shoulders before taking you out to the cold alley to his waiting car.  He walked you around the passenger side and opened the door, but before you could get in, a tug on your arm sobered you up.
You turned to see so much ice in Bucky’s glare. It was terrifying and thrilling at the same time.
“You are in so much trouble,” Bucky’s lowly growled threat made goosebumps rise on your skin.
 “What do you mean?”
You shaky voice belied your nerves.
“Get this clear, Frumoasă. You are, in fact, mine. That man’s hands were all over your body. All over what was mine.”
Bucky was leaning down, face close to yours, rage barely contained. You knew he would never truly hurt you, but…
“I had things under control,” you urgently whispered back. You wouldn’t back down from him.
“What about you? Who were you huddled up with in the corner?.”
Bucky’s eyes glinted.
“Jealous?”
He got even closer.
“No, you are,”
Bucky’s  jaw tensed, and a vein pulsed in his neck. You hit a nerve.
“I know that woman from… from before you. She means nothing to me.”
Bucky brought his hand up to your neck and buried his fingers in the hair at the nape of your head. He tangled your curls and tugged, none too gently, bringing your eyes up to meet his.
“I don’t want her. There is no one but you. “
You were trembling in his grip, panties soaked, mouth open for breath. Seeing Bucky this worked up brought out something in you. Something you didn’t realize was there.
“Take me home, James.”
“Y/N.”
His voice chilled you. He gave you a cold smile.
“I said you were in trouble, and I meant it. You’re getting punished.”
Your jaw dropped, and your face flamed as you started to say something. But a wave of need crashed into your cunt. You were intrigued.
“What are you going to do?”
Your voice wavered despite your efforts to appear calm. Good lord you wanted this.
“What you deserve,” he said calmly, gesturing for you to get into the car. You resisted.
“Tell me now.”
He indicated the car again and you sat down, trembling as he buckled you in and walked around to the driver's seat. You took a deep breath before he got in himself.
Bucky leaned toward you menacingly.
“You have driven me to the edge these past few days, Y/N. I love you, I don’t know how else to explain this to you, so I’m going to show you tonight with a consequence for your actions. Either you accept that consequence and come to my place, or I drive you home. And we seriously reconsider what we’re doing here.”
You looked into his icy blues and you knew he was serious. You two had talked about some kinks and limits while starting to experiment with his more dominant side and your submissive side. These versions of you first manifested when you called him ‘Daddy.’ Punishment and reward was a heavy theme in your verbal foreplay. A little humiliation and praise was mixed into your physicality, and it thrilled you.
Bucky made you feel safe, and tonight you had been unsafe.
“I’ll take my punishment, Daddy.”
Bucky’s eyes stuttered half closed, but he quickly recovered, managing to stay cool toward you as he whispered a gruff, “Good."
He started the car and pulled into the street, headed toward Brooklyn.
"Now sit back and make yourself invisible. I’m trying to calm down and I need to concentrate to not be too rough with you when we get home."
You settled back into your seat, thinking hard about that word, ‘home.’
—--
Bucky virtually ignored you until you got into his bedroom, and you surprised yourself with how much you just wanted him to look at you. You were a whore for his attention. And now you knew that he knew that.
That’s when you realized that your punishment had already begun.
You walked ahead of him on shaky legs on the deep pile carpet of his bedroom, legs shaking and heat emanating from your core. You felt his hand tug you to a stop as he turned you around to face him.
Bucky took his jacket off of your shoulders as he finally looked at you, admiring the pout on your face.
“You were a good girl. So silent on the ride over and in the elevator.”
You shuddered as he spoke and as his fingers touched your bare shoulders.
“You like being a good girl for me, don’t you?”
His palm moved from your shoulder up to your cheek.
“Yet you weren’t a good girl earlier tonight, were you?”
He was so close to you, his lips millimeters from yours.
“James, please –”
The space between your lips was driving you crazy.
“I think you need to be spanked, Frumoasă.”
His voice was so calm, in contrast to the whirlwind inside you. You were anxious, but you wanted this in your soul.
“We will talk while I spank you. You have got to understand how much I care for you. How much I love you.”
Anger with a rush of excitement coursed through your body.
“I— This is— Fuck,” you whispered.
Bucky pecked your lips, allowing just one bright spot of tenderness before he abruptly sat down on the edge of the bed.
“Over my lap, Frumoasă.”
“Christ, James.”
“Now.”
His eyes were iceberg blue. There was no trace of soft Bucky.
“Or I will put you there myself.”
“Do it,” you whispered, ever defiant.
In an instant, you were thrown over the bed like you weighed nothing, and flipped onto his lap.
“There we go.”
His satisfied voice made you shiver. A large hand slipped off your heels and peeled your leggings down your legs. You squirmed, knowing that he could see the wet spot on your your panties.
“Esti atat de frumoasă iubirea mea.” You are so beautiful my love.
He smoothed your panties against your wet crease before he yanked them down in one swift movement, exposing you to the cool air in his bedroom.
“I’m going to enjoy this. You, not so much,”
“Get on with it.”
“Watch your mouth, and stop rolling your eyes.”
Bucky squeezed your ass cheek as he read you like a book, and you braced for a blow.
“Don’t hurt me,” you pleaded in a whisper, chastened now.
“This isn’t going to be about pain.”
You rubbed your nipples against the comforter, searching for some relief to the sexual tension coursing through your body.
“Then what?”
You were breathless as he rubbed circles on your ass. A slap landed, quick and stinging, causing you to  jump.
“It’s about you being a spoiled little princess.”
His voice was rougher. Oh Lord. That nickname was your undoing. It felt so right.
“I am not!”
You gasped when he spanked you again, heat radiating from the spot.
“Brat. Don’t contradict me.”
Fingers slipped into your folds.
“See? A spoiled, wet princess.”
You bucked, lifting your ass to his touch, not trying to hide your reaction.
“Mmm, you like being called that, don’t you? Your body can’t hide the truth.”
“Daddy…”
You buried your face in the bed as he rubbed your clit. How could he be so calm?
“That’s it, Prinţesă Open up for me.”
More spanks made you moan wantonly.
“I’m going to fuck you you here…”
Two fingers moved deep into your cunt..
 “…And here.”
He lightly stroked the cleft of your ass.
“Yes, I want you there. Please!”
Bucky’s intake of breath told you that he hadn’t expected your response.
“Iti place, Prinţesă aia? You like that?”
“God, it feels so good.”
Bucky circled your tight hole and worked a finger inside.
“Fuck, you feel so tight and untouched,” he crooned as you arched into his hands.
“Almost innocent. But you are anything but, aren’t you? You were acting like a slut earlier. Letting him touch what’s mine.”
“James—”
You were angry and yet so close to cumming at the same time.
Bucky laughed.
“You wanted attention, now you have it. Do you want me to have Sam bring him here to watch me do this to you? Or should I just call Sam? Or Steve? Or Nat? All three perhaps? You need an audience, Frumoasă?”
You were so wet at what he was saying despite your embarassment.
“Look at you.”
His voice was so condescending. Why did that get you even wetter?
“You are so worked up over the idea. They’d be eager. They all say how fine you are, and how they would have you right where I do if I hadn’t made the first move.”
You pussy spasmed as he plunged two fingers inside you again while his thumb pressed down on your clit. He pulled away before you could fall over the edge and you grunted in frustration.
“It’ll never happen though, because you’re mine. My little slut. My cum whore.”
A smack stung your ass.
“Fuuuckkkk, Jamie….”
You were shuddering, shaking, creaming all over his hand.
“My pure and total slut. In every way.”
You kicked, your ass fluttering around the two fingers he had inserted. Your pussy was gushing, but you could find no relief. Another hard smack rained down and you cried out.
“Do you think I could ever look at anyone else while you are in the world, Frumoasă? A thousand women could be in here — naked, begging — and I wouldn’t look their way. Not once."
“James—”
“Not when you’re here, so pretty on my lap, with your pussy on fire and your body desperate for what I can give you.”
You whimpered and tried to close your legs for pressure on your clit, but Bucky spread your thighs with his hands and stared down into your shiny, wet cunt.
“And you're not just desperate.”
Bucky was relentless.
“You're greedy. They would have to watch while I fucked you, because you can’t wait.”
“Oh, fuck, Jamesssss!”
“That’s why I give you all my time, my attention, all my money, because I will give you anything you ask for. And more, Frumoasă.”
You hid your face, slung over his lap, and his big fingers began stroking in and out of you again.
Lightning bolted through you.
You gasped and clamped down on his hand. You came so hard. And then he was spanking you again. Your ass was numb now.
Somehow you wound up on the bed, belly-down, knees on the floor with Bucky kneeling behind you. You arched your back, body begging for him. Another slap landed on your heated ass.
“Look at you, putting on a show. Just like earlier in the middle of the dance floor. But all of this is mine. No one else’s.”
Bucky grasped your breasts through your thin top and you whimpered, face down on his bed, presenting for him, spreading your legs, beckoning him to stop the torture and enter you.
“Need your cock, Daddy. Please. I’m sorry!”
A sudden smack on your clit made you cry out. Pleasure bloomed out from your cunt and your thighs were now soaked.
“Yes, you need me. And it’s okay. It’s okay to be taken care of, to lose control. I’ve got you Frumoasa.”
For once, you had nothing to say, you just gripped the covers as Bucky lifted your hands and moved them behind your back, holding them together.
“I wish you could see your ass right now, Baby.”
His voice was husky with lust.
“It’s so red and so warm. So fucking beautiful. But you deserve my cock, too, don’t you?”
He sank into you without warning, your wetness enabling him to sink in with one thrust. You were helpless; you just had to take it. You moaned as his thumb entered your ass as he squeezed your hip. And you felt so full, fucked sensless by his relentless nature.
“So fucking wet,” he growled. “And you want me to fuck your ass.”
“Please, Daddy…”
You were sobbing now, wanting everything he was giving you, everything he was saying, and more.
“Please cum inside me.”
“Good girl,” he whispered. “Love it when you beg. You should see the creamy goodness you are leaving around my cock..”
Bucky threw his head back and moaned, shutting his eyes tight from the erotic sight. His thrusts became erratic as his cum hit your wet, hot walls. Your mouth opened in a wide O and a silent scream as you came around him.
He growled as he finished, his hand rubbing your back as he softened inside you. You slumped against the bed as he rained kisses down your spine.
“Are you okay, Prinţesă?”
You smiled.
“More than okay.”
Bucky smiled and kissed your forehead before retreating to the bathroom. He came back, cleaned you up, and helped you to fully undress as you climbed into his bed.
He went to the kitchen to get a glass of water for you and made you drink, before he took off his clothes and climbed into bed with you and took you into his arms.
“Do you still love me, Y/N?”
Confident, dominant Bucky Barnes was gone. You looked up into his uncertain blue eyes.
“Of course I do. I wouldn’t have come with you if I didn’t. I love you, James Barnes. I’m still yours. It’s just— I’ve been taking care of myself for so long that I don’t know how–”
Bucky put his finger over your lips.
“That’s all I wanted to hear right now. Let’s get some rest. We will talk in the morning. I’m not letting you go without a fight. I love you, so much, Frumoasă.”
You kissed him and relaxed into his arms.
“You own me, Frumoasă, body and soul.”

Summer was nearing its end, the weather slowly turning cloudier and moodier. The mornings were chill, refreshing, but throughout the day it would warm up significantly, allowing you to walk around wearing thin and cute outfits. However, by the time the evening came, you’d have to cover up with something warm to keep yourself from catching a cold. All of that while trying to remain fashionable, well, whatever a four-year-old found fashionable enough. Wrestling my little one into outfits that would keep her both warm but not too hot was rather difficult as she turned out to have a rather stubborn persona even at her young age. Not liking to be coddled, but also hating to be alone was something we battled with daily, except on the days when her nanny came over so that I could go to work. My little one hasn’t been trusting of strangers since an even younger age, big eyes wary of anyone who came too close and cooed at her. Perhaps my overprotective tendencies played a big role in my daughter being skeptical of those around her, unless they were little girls who liked to play dress-up and organize tea parties in blanket forts.
Life as a single mother hadn’t been easy, but we managed just fine—have been for a while now. My parents lived in the city next to ours, a mere one-hour long drive away, and that also played a role in me learning how to be independent while navigating through motherhood for the first time. I would be lying if I said it was easy and an absolutely lovely journey, but I also would be lying if I said I haven’t been enjoying every single part of it, every little step my beautiful daughter has taken by my side. Without my two best friends, I probably wouldn’t be living as comfortably as I was at the moment, would be probably juggling between jobs, and considering moving back in with my parents. Arin’s father hasn’t been part of our lives since the second he found out I was pregnant, instead, he ran off to work on a cruise ship, throwing in the excuse that he’d be too absent in our lives like that, and instead he’d like to prevent his daughter from growing up wondering when her father would be back. However, due to his stupid choices he ended up making her wonder why she didn’t have a father like all the other children she went to kindergarten with or played at the playground with. Everyone makes mistakes, and mine was trusting my highschool sweetheart, who also happened to be the biggest asshole and player known to mankind.
With the weather changing drastically and the new school year being just around the corner, I tried to take my little one to the playground as often as I could, wanting her to enjoy the little freedom summer break offered us. My job was rather flexible and allowed me to spend a lot of time with my daughter as I more often than not worked from home, only required to step inside the headquarters when there were important meetings and business proposals. Arin had been excited when I told her we’d be going to the playground once again, before it could get dark, with the thought in mind to let her know that I would be sending her to daycare as I have decided to take on a second job as well. We managed just fine, but I wanted her to have more comfort, more toys, more pretty clothes that she could show off whenever she wanted to.
Her dark hair was in two little pigtails, bouncing on the top of her head with every step she took. The purple jeans she chose to wear didn’t match with the rest of her outfit, but I couldn’t care less when I saw the happy look on her face as we walked over to the mirror. Her blouse was a simple beige colour and had all sorts of different coloured flowers decorating it, her red socks peeking out from her white shoes. Thankfully her most favourite playground was in our neighbourhood, just around the block, and she was more than eager to meet her friends today too. I had held her little hand as we walked down the pavement, grinning as she babbled on about whatever cartoon she had been watching earlier, elated to tell her best friend about it too. Stepping inside the gated playground, I was quickly forgotten as she rushed over to her friends, not paying mind to my request of always staying within my sight. I had walked over to an empty bench and sat down, watching my daughter play around with other children with a smile on my face.
At times, I wondered what life would be like without her. Whether I would have stayed here or moved to another country, whether I would have signed up for another college or remained with the diploma I have right now. Whether I would have chosen a career that was more active and sociable than the one I had now, secluded and homebound. Whether I would have found a man that actually cherishes me and my child, whether he would have gotten married to me first and wouldn’t have run away, leaving a pregnant woman alone to fend for herself and their baby. But it was better without my ex, he would have been a horrible father, and I’d rather my little Arin not have a father figure while growing up than have one that is horrible and makes her hate all men.
It didn’t take long for the other mothers to approach me, wide smiles on their faces as they were happy to see me, happy that Arin was here to play with their children. Most of them were stay at home mothers until their children grew past the point of constantly needing attention and help, and they were rather friendly, understanding, and quite helpful if I needed guidance or a little bit of help. Doyoung’s mother was the friendliest out of them all, she never failed to make my day better and she always brought cookies for the two of us to snack on while our kids played around in the sand. But today she wasn’t here, and that meant I had to face Jake’s mother on my own, a woman that was far from being nice, and never failed to find ways to belittle me for being a single mother. She never said it, but I knew she thought I was a whore; I could see it in her eyes whenever she grinned that fake grin of hers.
“Ah, the weather is so lovely today.” And to my luck, it had been her who approached me first, the other mothers slowly coming up to us, greeting us with smiles and little waves. I paid her no mind, instead looked for my little girl, finding her on the swings as Nakyoung gently pushed her, making Arin giggle loudly.
“Is this real snake skin?!” A mother, one that was rather shallow, exclaimed as she grabbed for Jake mother’s purse, mouth having fallen open.
“Of course, it is,” Jake’s mother chuckled, looking over her sunglasses, “I don’t wear fakies.”
I tried to keep my eyeroll minimal as Jake’s mother threw a fleeting look my way, never failing to flaunt her wealth and the fact that I owned one fake Louis Vuitton bag. Sue me, the design was elegant, and I wasn’t about to leave it at the thrift store just because it was a fake one.
“It must be nice to have a rich husband.” Emma’s mother sighed dreamily, her lipstick a little smudged, but nobody pointed it out to her.
“It is rather comfortable,” Jake’s mother giggled, pushing her lavish curls behind her shoulders, “saves you from a lot of house chores and work I’d rather not do.”
“How are you today?” I felt a soft nudge against my knee, and I turned my head to face Mingyu’s mother, a woman who was beautiful beyond her years, well-mannered, wise, and very sweet. I liked her just as much as I liked Doyoung’s mother, sometimes the three of us would grab some coffee if our schedules aligned.
“Just fine, and you?” I asked, our voices hushed as we tuned out the other mothers’ conversation, not curious of whatever boasting Jake’s mother was on about. She couldn’t tell us anything new, she always repeated the same old stories, changing a few details here and there, thinking we wouldn’t notice.
“Mingyu’s been restless today,” His mother sighed, pursing her lips, “the more he grows, the harder it is to make him sit still.”
“Arin is energetic too.” I chuckled, watching Mingyu’s mother with an understanding look, “And she loves throwing tantrums if things don’t go her way.”
“Ah, of course.” Mingyu’s mother chuckled, shaking her head, “Maybe our little ones learnt it from each other, because Mingyu’s been doing them more frequently too.”
“Certainly, they must be conspiring—”
“Arin and Mingyu’s mothers,” Jake’s mother raised her voice, lips pulled into a fake grin, “are you leaving out others from your conversation now? Isn’t that rude?”
The other mothers chuckled, rather awkwardly, but Mingyu’s mother remained calm as she raised her eyebrows at Jake’s mother, “I don’t think having a private conversation with someone is considered rude despite sitting in a group.”
With a snort, I added, “Especially if only one person is talking in that group, that feels ruder to me…”
The other mothers, besides Mingyu’s, looked around awkwardly, some clearing their throats as the others tried to play it off as funny as they chuckled. Jake’s mother’s lips formed a tight line as she cleared her throat, gripping her authentic snake skin purse like anyone would want to steal it from her.
“I was merely sharing how much my lovely husband loves me.” Jake’s mother chuckled, voice dripping with honey as she blinked innocently, “You know, he’s always eager to please me, and, frankly, if a snake skin purse is what makes me happy as I have to stay at home and raise our child, he’ll get it for me without a fuss. What has your husband given you—”
Her insult wasn’t new, nor impressive, as I blinked at her, lips slowly pulling into a small smile. Mingyu’s mother scoffed next to me, and the other mothers’ looked rather uncomfortable due to the atmosphere Jake’s mother had created now. Really, if the woman wanted to hurt me, she’d have to get a lot more creative with her stupid back-handed insults.
“You know,” My voice was levelled, calm, “if I want to make myself happy, I buy that damn snake skin purse myself. I don’t need a husband who forces me to stay at home, stealing away my freedom, while he goes out and cheats on me as much as he’d like, knowing that when he returns, I’ll be waiting for him with warm dinner on the table and open legs.”
Well, that pretty much shut up the other mothers as Jake’s gasped, looking more than appalled by what I dared say to her face. I wasn’t insinuating anything, but knowing her, she definitely made it about herself in her pea sized brain, gaping like a fish as I rolled my eyes at her and turned my head to face Mingyu’s mother. She had her hand in front of her mouth, trying to muffle her giggles. A young child screamed all of a sudden, alerting us mothers as our heads whipped in the direction of the screams.
“Dear!” Kyuhyun’s mother exclaimed, running over to her child as he was clutching his little knee with tears streaming down his face. Realizing that I haven’t been checking on my little Arin, I let my eyes survey the playground, quickly coming to the alarming realization that she wasn’t anywhere. Heart suddenly racing in my chest, I jumped up to my feet and whipped my head around, alerting Mingyu’s mother.
“What’s wrong?”
“I can’t see Arin!” My voice sounded breathless as I left my belongings on the bench, taking off in a jog towards the sand. Mingyu was by himself, building a sand tower as he glanced up at me, his little canines showing as he grinned.
“A tower!” He pointed at his sculpture, but I couldn’t focus on that right now.
“Have you seen Arin?” I asked panicked, feelings my hands shake as I tried to fight the impeding panic that threatened to overtake my rational thoughts. I had to stay level-headed if I wanted to find my little girl.
“She went there, I think.” Mingyu pointed behind the big slides, that part of the playground rather obscured as it was covered with large bushes and overgrown grass. Thanking him quickly, I took off towards where the little boy had pointed, lump in my throat and heart in my chest racing wildly as I realized the gate was open and my little girl was talking to a man, giggling and letting him pat her head.
“Arin!” My voice sounded as panicked as I felt on the inside, it was loud and stern, alerting my daughter and the man she stood with. My feet carried me over in no time and I scooped her up in my arms, hugging her tightly, uncaring that she was getting heavier and I couldn’t carry her as much as I would’ve liked to, “Arin.”
I whispered against her hair, kissing her cheek as she giggled, hugging me around the neck as I finally turned my head, glaring at the stranger. But it took me by surprise how well-dressed and handsome he was, standing tall with his hands behind his back, shoulders pulled back, expression blank. The right side of his long black hair was slicked back, the left strands falling into his eye, slightly obscuring it from view. Despite the roundness of them, his eyes were sharp and fierce, it made my heart race once again as I couldn’t read his expression, scared of what he wanted. His nose was tall and his lips plush and plump, skin perfect and sun-kissed, “What the hell are you doing talking to my daughter?!”
My eyes swiftly checked him out again, taking in the expensive looking outfit he wore. His pants were of leather and hugged his long legs elegantly, obscuring the high heeled boots he was wearing. Despite the heat, he wore a black turtleneck with a white shirt and vest over it, all tucked inside his leather pants, with a black coat draped over his shoulders. His necktie was loose, but not to the point it would make his outfit look unkept. For a second, I wondered how he managed it with all the layers of clothing if I was sweating in a simple tee and ruffled midi-skirt.
“I’m afraid you misunderstood my intentions, Miss.” The man’s voice was deep, yet pleasant, taking me off guard by how calm and reassuring it sounded. It didn’t match his face nor outlook, “I was passing by, on my way to my car, when I saw her stumble past the unlocked gate. Worried that she was lost or would run into bad people, I decided to stop and ask her if she was here alone or with someone, with the intention of walking her back to you.”
I gulped as Arin nuzzled against my neck, peeking at the stranger with a shy giggle, “He’s handsome!”
“Arin.” I muttered, and threw her an unimpressed look, “Is it true what the man is saying?”
“Yes!” Arin exclaimed, suddenly pulling away from my neck as she grinned widely at the man. I’ve never seen her act like that towards strangers before, my eyebrows raised in surprise as I watched her make grabby hands at him, “You promised you’d carry me.”
The man’s chuckle was deep as Arin started pouting, making me feel embarrassed slightly, “Arin, you can’t ask people to just carry you around, especially not strangers—”
“But he’s not—” Her eyebrows furrowed as she struggled for a second, “stranger, he’s Seong—hwa?”
The man chuckled and fixed his coat as his hands slipped inside the pockets of his leather pants, “Seonghwa, yes. I promised to carry you to your mommy, but she’s here now, so I don’t have to do that anymore.”
“But—” Arin pouted, crossing her arms in front of her chest as she gave me puppy eyes, “can’t he be my daddy?”
“Arin.” I hissed mortified, cheeks flushing as the stranger raised an eyebrow, looking rather elegant as he did so, “I told you, you can’t ask random men to be your father—I’m sorry.”
I faced the stranger—Seonghwa—and bowed my head as Arin whined, kicking her legs and my ribs subsequently. I grimaced and went to chastise her, but to my surprise, the stranger stepped closer, eyes narrowed, but not maliciously.
“You’re hurting your mother, stop kicking.” The authority in his voice made both Arin and I pause as we both gazed at him with wide eyes, “You should thank her instead for coming to find you, and don’t wander off again, there’s a lot of bad people in the world.”
“Is that true?” Arin whispered, her round eyes falling on me as her lower lip jutted out. I sighed and nodded, facing the man again.
“Thank you, really, and I’m sorry for the inconvenience.” I bowed my head again, then placed Arin onto the ground, taking her hand into mine.
“Be more careful next time, you never know who you come across.” There was an almost dangerous lull to his tone, eyes slightly narrowing before he bowed his head and took off, probably towards his car. I gulped, the lump finally gone from my throat as I watched Seonghwa disappear around the corner, not a speck of dust on his expensive clothes. Then, I felt Arin squeeze my arm and sniff, making me look down at her to find her crying.
“Arin, what’s wrong?” I asked worried, feeling panicked again as all sorts of scenarios ran through my mind. Maybe Seonghwa did something to her and she was scared to say it in front of him.
“Seong—hwa promised to buy me cotton candy once we found you.” Tears rolled down my little one’s cheeks, making me chuckle as I crouched down to be eye level with her, “And he said he’d buy you coffee too.”
“He said that?” I asked surprised, wiping her tears away.
“Yes, he said he likes your skirt.” My eyebrows furrowed as I pressed a reassuring kiss against her chubby and rosy cheek.
“Does he now?” I muttered to myself as I stood up again, and tried to shake off the unease as I guided us back inside the playground. This was a weird interaction and it’s left me feeling uneasy and hopeful that something like this wouldn’t happen again.

Days, weeks, passed by and it seemed like the stranger from the playground was everywhere now. Park Seonghwa, he had said his name was on a random Saturday afternoon, when we bumped into each other at a rather small flower shop, ten minutes away from my neighbourhood. I hadn’t been looking where I was going as I was busy multitasking—as in opening the shop’s door while typing away on my phone to the nanny that I would be home in fifteen minutes—and thus, the second I was out the door I had collided against a hard chest. The apology died down in my throat upon seeing the familiar face, heart racing out of unease rather than excitement. But Seonghwa had been nice, helped me pick up the bouquet I had dropped, and then offered to drive me home as the wind had picked up, dark storm clouds promising a downpour that would come rather soon. But, as I had taught my little Arin to not trust strangers, I didn’t trust this man either, and politely declined his offer. He didn’t seem weird nor made me feel uncomfortable, but I was wary of him. After all, the way we met was more suspicious than not.
The next time we ran into each other was barely a few days after the encounter at the flower shop, when I was out early in the morning, picking up fresh bread and some chocolate croissants that Arin loves a lot. My best friends had slept over the night prior, and so, it was safe for me to leave the apartment on my own, the two would watch over Arin if she were to wake up earlier than expected. The bakery had an adjacent coffee shop as well, and while I waited for my coffee order, I had stepped into line to order the delicacies, unassuming of the round eyes watching me from a table placed by the entrance. I was engrossed in reading through my emails as it was finally my turn in line, but the barista called my name to get my coffee right as I had placed my order for the pastries, and I had no choice but to step aside and quickly fetch my coffee. However, when I made it back to the cashier, the delicacies and my coffee have been paid for. When I asked how, the cashier just giggled about a tall and handsome man, dressed in an expensive suit, having paid for my purchases before he hurried outside. I had swiftly turned around, eyes wide as I caught a quick glimpse of Seonghwa sitting inside a very expensive looking Mercedes Benz parked across the street. My heart had started racing, but not out of unease anymore, but out of curiosity and wonder.
Then the next week had arrived, and Arin and I were at a playhouse when suddenly Seonghwa was sat at our table, smiling widely as he offered an unopened bag of marshmallows to Arin. I couldn’t help but gape at him, wondering whether it was coincidence that he had Arin’s favourite snack at hand. He apologized for having sat at our table uninvited, but he said his niece worked at the playhouse, and upon seeing us he wanted to greet us. Arin was beyond enthralled and begged Seonghwa to stay with us, managing to convince the both of us as we gave in at the end, keen to entertain my young daughter. It was rather heartwarming seeing Seonghwa so eager to play with Arin as they both made their way to the trampolines, Seonghwa looking out of place in his fancy leather outfit. Upon finishing my orange juice, I joined the two and was rather surprised to find myself enjoying Seonghwa’s company. Despite his fierce looks, he was a gentle man with a kind heart, happily playing with Arin, and letting her drag him around while he tried to make conversation with me as well. When I had put Arin to bed, she asked whether we could invite Seonghwa over to our house for a yummy meal.
Not much to my surprise anymore, a day later, Seonghwa and I crossed paths at the convenience store, and I decided to stop being so uptight and stirred up a conversation with him, inquiring of his sudden appearances wherever I went. He said he had recently moved into the neighbourhood, hence why we were crossing paths more often, and he had always liked making new friends, so he was rather eager to get to know me, if I also wanted that. I still didn’t fully trust him—he was still a stranger after all—but I decided to agree to hanging out in the weekend, of going someplace silent and relaxing. Arin could stay with the nanny this time; I didn’t want to involve her just yet knowing she liked Seonghwa rather a lot.
It had been a day before the agreed upon hangout, when I was walking home from a meeting that got drawn out due to a business partner showing up unannounced. Thankfully one of my friend’s was free for the night and went over to my house to help out as the nanny couldn’t stay for the evening as well, stressing me out even more. The sky was dark and the air chilly as I had gotten off the bus. I hadn’t driven to my workplace because I thought the meeting wouldn’t be more than two hours, meaning that it would’ve been still light outside when I had to return home. But that was hours ago, and now I just barely managed to catch the last bus, eager to get home and bury myself under the warm blankets, cuddled up next to Arin and my friend, probably having to watch Arin’s favourite Barbie movie again.
The neighbourhood was quiet as my heels clicked loudly, my pace quickening as I could feel a blister form right underneath my big toe, making me hiss out in pain as I stepped rather wonkily on it. My wrists had started aching from how many notes I had taken, and the satchel bag that hung over my shoulder was heavier than usual due to my laptop being inside it. I passed the convenience store just as the old lady was closing up, and we briefly greeted each other as I sighed loudly, my apartment just three blocks away now, right around the corner. The streets were quiet and a few lampposts were faulty as they flickered, then completely went out, making me shiver as it reminded me of horror movie scenes. My breaths were laboured and my gut feeling told me to just hurry up, so ignoring the ache of my foot due to the blister, I started walking faster, my heels clicking harder against the concrete. Much to my alarm, I could hear hurried footsteps behind myself, almost as if they were trying to catch up to me. My heart had started racing as I gripped my satchel bag tightly, ready to swing it at whoever if they tried to come at me.
I heard a hiss behind and I decided to look back, eyes widening instantly when they fell on a masked man, who had started running at me now. I shrieked and took off, the heels not being an obstacle as I made my way down the street, clutching my bag tightly as it tried to swing around my body. Nothing could’ve stopped me as I ran for my life, chest heaving as I tried not to slow down, the apartment complex I lived in barely a block away now. But the masked man was catching up and I knew I couldn’t outrun him, so I tried to quickly think of an escape route where I could hideout and phone the police. My heart was pumping fast and my lips had started trembling as my body and mind were filled with adrenaline, fuelling my senses to push harder as I made a sharp turn to the left. The alleyway was dark, I hadn’t been here before, and my blood ran cold when I realized the dire mistake I have made. It was a dead-end alleyway, a wired tall fence separating it from the next passage. I was trapped in as I whirled around, eyes wide as they fell on the masked man blocking my only exit. He cackled, suddenly something sharp and glinting appearing in his hands. It was a knife. My body had started trembling as I tried to come up with a plan, hand him over whatever he asked for, but before I could open my mouth to plead for my life, the man stopped abruptly, then heavily fell over, hitting the ground with a loud thud.
I gasped as I watched him frozen, confused and scared of what has happened. Looking around, I couldn’t see anyone, and so, reluctantly I made my way towards the masked man. But when I finally reached him, my eyes widened in horror at the blatant bullet hole in the back of his head, blood oozing out of it onto the pavement, flowing towards the soles of my high heels. I whimpered as I walked around the dead body, eyes fixated on it as if it would revive him, when I crashed into a hard chest. I gasped and opened my mouth to shriek, to call for help, but instead it got muffled by a leather gloved hand, my body getting pushed against the side of one of the buildings the alleyway was encompassed between. My body trembled as I looked up, eyes getting even wider, if possible, as I recognized the familiar face.
“Seo-Seonghwa?” I whispered, eyes falling back onto the dead man before they snapped back to Seonghwa, “What—what is—”
“Shh,” He whispered, pushing the hair out of my eyes as he gently caressed my cheek with his gloved hand, “You’re safe now, nothing’s happened.”
“But—” I had to gulp hard, heart hammering against my ribcage as Seonghwa’s round eyes were the softest I’ve ever seen them be, lips pulled into an almost motherly smile. He was calm, way too calm, as if he was used to this, “But the man’s dead, I—”
“He shouldn’t have tried to rob a woman.” Seonghwa’s sharp words cut me off, his grip slipping towards my chin as he grabbed me firmly, pulling my head closer to his, “He was a dangerous person, I couldn’t let him hurt you.”
Upon hearing his words I shuddered, eyes reluctantly traveling lower on his body, stopping on the black gun he held in his free hand, making me gasp, “Seonghwa, who are you—”
“I can keep you safe.” He cut me off once again, tilting my head back by my chin, our gazes meeting, “You and Arin, I can keep the both of you safe, never to worry about anything again. I can give you luxuries, vacations, anything the two of you want. Good schools, high education for Arin, whatever she’ll want in the future. I’ll give you all of that in exchange for a little something.”
I gulped, throat dry as my heart hammered against my ribcage furiously, my skin cold from the chilly air but from the lack of the adrenaline too, “What?”
My voice sounded small and afraid, but Seonghwa just smiled gently again, closing his eyes as he inhaled slowly, “Move in with me.”
“Wha-what?!” I yelped, trying to yank my head out of Seonghwa’s grip, but he held me firmly. Suddenly, he started leaning closer, making me shrink back as I was afraid he’d point the gun at me if I didn’t do what he asked of me.
“I’ve grown fond of you and Arin; I want to keep you safe.” Seonghwa explained, making my mind a jumbled mess of questions, confusion, and fright, “Did you know the father of your child has hired a detective to follow you two around? He wants to take Arin away.”
“What?!” I screwed my eyes tightly shut, head thumping from Seonghwa’s confusing words, he wasn’t making sense, “He hasn’t even been in her life, why now?”
“For money, of course.” Seonghwa sighed, tone growing colder, and I opened my eyes to find him sneering at the wall behind me, “He’s not a good man, Arin can’t fall into his hands—”
“And she won’t!” I exclaimed, gripping the collar of his leather jacket rather desperately, “How do you know all of this?!”
“I’m Park Seonghwa,” Seonghwa answered with a humoured chuckled, gripping my wrists as he removed my grip gently from his collar, “son of the chairman of Park Enterprises. You do know my family owns every nightclub in the high end of the city, right?”
I nodded, shocked to find out he was the son of the powerful Park Senior. I gulped, suddenly mulling over his words, wondering how much of it was true, “And?”
“Underground activities are much more fun than the legal ones, Y/N.” Seonghwa chuckled, bopping my nose with a gloved finger, making me flinch back, “I’m just saying…I’m the most powerful man in probably the whole country, are you sure you want to miss out on this proposal?”
“I don’t trust you.”
“You’ll trust me soon enough.” He grinned, a little wicked and devilishly handsome, then leaned down and pressed a kiss against my cheek, leaving me stunned. I averted my eyes when his gaze fell on me, and accidentally looked at the dead man. Something coiled in my stomach and I had to gulp down the bile in my throat, fighting against the nausea that warned me that I would throw up as my body started shaking again, “Don’t look at him.”
Appearing in my sight, Seonghwa gently turned my head away and smiled softly again, “Deal? For Arin?”
I gulped, realizing I was crazy for what I was about to say, “Deal, for Arin.”
Seonghwa grinned and then threw his arm around my shoulder, turning me away from the dead man as he led us back onto the main street, at least eight masked men hurrying out of a black van and inside the alleyway. Seonghwa didn’t let me look back as he clicked his tongue and ushered me towards his Mercedes Benz. I steeled my nerves and reluctantly sat inside, fidgeting in the leather seat.
“I still expect us to go on that date tomorrow.” Seonghwa said once buckled up.
“Date?” My eyebrows furrowed as I looked at him, the engine purring to life loudly.
“Did you really think it was just a casual hangout?”
“Yes.”
Seonghwa chuckled and then faced ahead, pressing play on the radio, “Have you ever been to Paris, my dear?”

The Apocalypse was over and Five Hargreaves did what he did best, drink and cope. The first few weeks of freedom he tried things he had missed early on in his childhood. It started when Viktor took him shopping for a new, more appropriate wardrobe, that someone who looked his age would wear. Then he would often visit the park just to admire the beauty of places that were once a baron landscape. And sometimes he just spent his time reading catching up on what he missed in the last few years.
But old habits die hard when you spend 54 years alone and the next 2 weeks desperate to save yourself and save your family. Maybe Klaus was right when he called the apocalypse his drug because, for a while, it was all he’d ever know.
Five hadn’t slept well in a long time and despite his newfound freedom without the looming feeling of impending doom. He would find himself waking up at 4 am to check his window and just to see if everything was real.
The Academy had been empty for a bit, the first week his family had stayed back to collect themselves, celebrate, and appreciate one another but slowly their lives fell back into place. Allison went back to Claire wanting to get back her career and her daughter back. Luther wanted to find his independence and took a small helping from his inheritance to live on his own. Diego and Lila had also moved out in hopes of continuing to grow their relationship and perhaps find happiness in normalcy. Viktor, now confident in himself wanting to explore the world more began traveling and meeting new people. To Five it felt like everyone had moved on, except him. He had been the one to jump through time, and now he felt like he was stuck in it.
However this morning, his silent coffee and breakfast time was interrupted but a surprisingly sober Klaus barging through the door with a girl no taller than 5’3 who looked as if she had been dragged through the mud and a forest in his arms.
“I didn’t know where to bring her she ran into me frantic and couldn’t speak much,”
“There wasn’t anyone chasing her so I have no idea where she came from and she’s in pretty bad shape.”
Klaus looked panicked, he felt bad for the beat-up girl in his arms but what could he do besides bring her to the place he knew could help her best.
Grace and Pogo immediately took action, bringing the girl into the spare room to care for her wounds.
“What makes you think you can just bring random people in here? She could be dangerous?”
Five arched his eyebrow at Klaus’s behavior. He wasn’t a trusting man but he trusted his brother’s intuition and the girl genuinely looked like she needed help.
“I couldn’t just leave her on the road. I’m not a bad person Five. There’s something different about her I swear.”
Five looked distrustful at what his brother was saying.
“Well, we’ll just have to see when she wakes up.”
The two went back to doing their own things in the Academy waiting for you to wake up.
————————-3 days later————————
The sun shone brightly in the room you stayed at. Your eyes slowly opened, blinking harshly to adjust to the shining light. You had no idea where you were, this new place was uncomfortable and unfamiliar. Warm wood furniture decorated the walls, and the mattress you slept on seemed more comfy, soft, and warmer than your old hay-filled cot. Unsurprisingly your wounds ached but were clean nevertheless. You jumped when the door swung open to reveal a monkey? no an ape? in a suit. "Ah you're finally awake, Ill let the others know"
"I am Pogo by the way, please rest, we don't want your stitches reopening." Maybe it was the exhaustion catching up to you, but you listened to his words and laid back, staring at the large high ceilings waiting to see if whoever brought you here would be like your old doctors. Back downstairs Pogo noticed Five pacing around in the living room. "Any troubles worrying you?" "Yes that girl, I can't find any information about her, she had no ID, no name card, I even looked around the area trying to track back where she came from, and nothing." Five glanced around, more cautious of his surroundings
"What if the commission sent her?" "This is not good, not good at all"
And with a quick turn, he teleported to the room of which his unwelcome guest occupied. A flash of blue interrupted your daydreams when a boy about your age in a green flannel, cargo pants, with slightly long side parted hair entered your space. Besides appearing out of nowhere he looked almost normal, but that didn't stop you from being scared. Shivering you pushed yourself back on the bed as far as you could to try to get away from him. Sensing your fear Five held out his hands as a way to show you some form of peace. Lowering one hand he slowly approached you. But the closer he came the farther back you shuffled. Something wasn't right Five thought. You were terrified of him, what had happened to you to cause you to be in such a state.
Hey Im not going to hurt you, I don't know who you are but Im not going to hurt you." Five could see that you weren't budging so he reached into his pocket and pulled out a hazelnut toffee-flavored candy. He wasn't a big fan of sweets but had kept some from his last visit to a local coffee shop. "Here you must be a little hungry, it's good to see." He popped it in his mouth to show her that it was safe, not a trick. Slowly you reached out and touched his hand, grabbing the little treat, unwrapping it before letting the gooey sweet melt on your tongue. Five smiled at your reaction. "See? It was good." He thought you looked adorable with big doe eyes waiting to see if he had any more. He reached into his right pocket and pulled out another handle full of candies. "Ill give you one each time you answer a question. Can you do that for me?" You nodded slowly. "Okay, can you tell me your name?" "Angel" you pointed to yourself "Five" you pointed to him. You had heard Klaus shouting his name when you entered the house. "Angel? Do you have a last time?" "Five. Five Hargreeves" He pointed to himself. "Angel" You repeated. Okay maybe you didn't have a last name that was fine, at least he had gotten a name. He gave you another candy and watched you excitedly open it. "Okay Angel, another question where did you come from? Who or what were you running from?" "Doctor" you responded looking down. "What Doctor? What did he do to you." You felt like you should have known better than to trust the boy in front of you, but he looked so earnest so sweet, that you decided to show him your secret. Opening your fist a ball of shadows appeared in your hand before you tossed it into the air letting whatever light was in the room dissipate. Five knew what this had suggested. Whoever took you, held you captive, and experimented on you. Perhaps they were trying to make you into one of the unlucky 43. Another candy was handed to you.
“Show me more” Five demanded. You blinked at him slowly before he put another candy in your hand. “Show me.”
You looked at him and brought both your hands up into the air. He watched shadows run from the ground into the room and swirl around you. It appeared you could summon shadows at your will and control them.
“Good girl” and another candy as placed in your hand. "Tell me, Angel, do you know where or who it was? Do you know the name of the commission?" You stared at him blankly not understanding what he said. Before Five could ask any more questions Klaus had burst through the door. "My Angel! You are okay !" As he rushed towards you to grab your face. Stunned you jolted back from his presence. "Angel, that's why she called herself that, it's not her name, it’s what you called her!" Five went to smack Klaus in the back of the head when his hand was stopped by a shadow. "No hurt, Klaus friend" With heart eyes, Klaus dove into Angel's arms "LOOK AT MY ANGEL PROTECTING ME!!" With the gentleness of a newborn deer, Angel reached out to Klaus with a small sweet in her hand. "Candy?" "For me? Of course, Angel thank you!" Rolling his eyes at the scene Five teleported to his room to think. Where had this girl come from she had no name could barely speak and had a dark power with unknown consequences. Angel clad in Umbrella Academy uniform, and Klaus were in the living room when a flash appeared in the doorway. "Cinco! Where are you off to?" "Library I need to do some research." But just before he would reach for the doorknob a body was flung into his back. "Here take Angel with you, she needs a new set of clothes, can't have her wearing this uniform, you know all about that wouldn't you?" Klaus said as he shoved Angel forward. "I don't have time, I'm not a babysitter." Five expressed as he grabbed your arms and pushed you back. "Five...mad?" You looked up at Five with tears in your eyes. Reaching out to his face with his hand you softly pet his cheek. "Five...happy. Happy"
The time travelers face softened at the kindness you showed while trying to console him.
“I’m sorry Angel, yes Five is happy. Come on let’s go.”
He grabbed your hand ignoring the feeling of his heart when your soft skin wrapped around his.
————————-In the Car—————————
“Alright Angel, as cute as you look in the uniform we have to get you some normal clothes.”
Five looked over at you, but you were looking out the window. His green eyes passed over the cuts on your legs and the faint but visible bruises on your neck. It wondered him how someone could do this to you, turn a girl who seemed like an Angel into a shadow user. He parked the car at Gimble's before flashing to your side of the door to open it, Five was still a gentleman after all. "Okay now Angel, we're here to buy you some new clothes." You nodded your head to show you understood him and hopped out of the car excited to see the world around you. Being locked up for so long you had forgotten what the outside world looked like. Today the sky was blue with warm gusts of winds filling the air. People and families were seen chattering about. You reached out to grab Five's arm and pulled him closer to the store. Five chucked at your childlike antics, letting himself be whisked away by you. You dragged him to the dress section; some of the kinder doctors had given you books to look at to pass the time, many of them being princess books. There were cute frilly dresses that caught your eye immediately. Rushing forward you grabbed 3 dresses that might have suited you. With a sigh Five grabbed your shoulders wanting to tell you to go find some more practical everyday clothes. But after seeing the glimmer in your eye as if you found the most priceless thing...he couldn't bear take that away from you. "Come on Princess, let's go try them on." He ushered you to the changing room and waited outside. As he turned his back you grabbed his hand, but Five had yanked it back at the unexpected contact. He wasn't completely used to physical touch yet.
Ignoring this you grabbed his hand once more and tried to take him into the dressing room with you. "No Angel I can't go with you, just put on the dresses inside and Ill wait out here."
You had refused to let go of his hand. With another sign he allowed himself to be pulled into the confined space of the changing room. You quickly shimmied out of the uniform skirt and tie throwing it into a random corner. Five's face turned a deep scarlet red, although he was an older man the sight of your small and barely clothes body was enough to make him shift in his pants. Before he could embarrass himself any further he blinked out into the waiting room fanning his face as if he ran a marathon. There were small warning signs in his brain, don't get too attached, she doesn't know better, please don't get a boner right now. Trying to collect himself he put his hands in his face wanting to be anywhere but here right now. You interrupted his train of thought when you came out bouncing with a big smile on your face. The dress you picked out was a cute white summer dress that was white had thick straps tied on your shoulders. The skirt part stopped right above your knees and flared out with a twirl. You looked absolutely adorable, an Angel who wielded the power of a devil. "You look...beautiful" Five muffled through his hand. "Beautiful?" You questioned. "Yes you, Angel, you are beautiful." And as if your smile couldn't get any bigger, you ran and jumped into Five, his arms slowly wrapping around your frame to prevent you from falling.
"Five! Beautiful!" You smiled and pointed at him. Your fingers had graced his cheeks into a smile. Pointing at his dimple "Five! Beautiful" you repeated. "Oh, you think I'm beautiful Angel?" Five couldn't help but also feel happy and continue smiling, something about you felt like a breath of fresh air. His last few weeks had been nonstop paranoia and feeling the effects of an identity crisis, but hearing your laughter and seeing you call him beautiful, it felt as if he was actually living again. However, that didn't stop the nagging fear in the back of his mind of where you came from and what had happened to you. Perhaps it was the assassin in him that just couldn't let him...enjoy a moment. "Come on Angel, let’s get the rest of the dresses and pay. We need to head to the library before it closes." You nodded your head and skipped off to grab the rest of your dresses and clothes. You and Five stood at the cashier waiting to pay. "That will be 45.78." Five pulled out a 50 and felt your head lean on his shoulder. "Five, thank you." You looked up at him with a mischievous gleam in your eye. As he was retrieving his change you leaned up and placed your soft lips on the corner of his mouth. "Five happy?" He looked down at you and blushed "Yes Five is very happy." ————————The Library—————————- You were sat in Five's lap flipping through a picture book while he was doing research. Unfortunately, there was almost no information about any kind of suspicious activities in the area where they had found you or even how you even got to the city. Five had to expand his research on places that might have to do with experimental tests but with so little access he was found himself at a dead end. "Nothing! Absolutely Nothing!" Five yelled before slamming his notebook on the table. You jumped in his lap and covered your ears, eyes filling with heavy teardrops waiting to fall. "Shit Angel Im sorry come here." He cooed wrapping his arms around you for the fourth time today. Five pressed a kiss to the top of your hair and inhaled slowly. You smelt like a blooming meadow and a hint of cinnamon. Closing his eyes he rested his head on yours. It wasn't been often when he felt a peace like this, heck he didn’t even remember the last time he felt calm, other than when he was drinking or passed out after a mission. Your eyelashes fluttered on his neck as you began to press small kisses on his jawline. "Come on Angel what are you doing?" "Make Five happy. Kiss you" You mumbled and continued leaving marks on his neck and jaw. Five clenched his fists around you "Angel if you keep this us I'm not going to be able to hold back." Five groaned as he pulled you closer into his lap. And with his last bit of resolve, he blinked you guys back into the car. "Come on Angel let's go home." He kissed your cheek slightly to assure you he wasn't mad and drove the two of you back. ————————the academy———————--- "Mi hermano and Angel ! You guys are back" Klaus shouted from the couch he was currently lying on. You ran into the living room jumping in front of Klaus to show off your dress.
"My cutie Angel! You look so pretty!"
Klaus then swept you off your feet and into a fit of giggles. Five, who had been observing the scene from the bar was actively trying to fight off the green monster that was creeping up his heart. "Leave her alone Klaus we had a long day. Come on Angel let's have your shower and get ready for bed." It was obvious you needed to be cared for and Five had already begun to assume the role. Pulling out some extra pajamas Five had in his wardrobe he handed them to you before showing you the bathroom. "Shower here and come back to my room when you are done okay?" You nodded back and went into the bathroom. With a sign Five flopped on his back in bed wondering more about you. How could someone he just met cause him to feel such a way? Maybe it was his messed up time-traveling brain that was causing these emotions but deep down he knew he had a hidden attraction to you. He began to think more about your powers. You couldn't be part of the 43 because you were too young but you also showed an understanding of your abilities and more control than Viktor did when he first found out about his. Five would have to talk to you after you shower about your abilities. Small footsteps padded outside his room before stopping. The door swung open and there you stood wrapped in only a small towel Grace had given you. Five green eyes turned wide as you skipped into his room.. You had turned to grab the pajamas he had left you on the bed and dropped your towel. Five sat up instantly, his eyes wandered over the curve of your breasts and the plumpness of your backside. Being in the apocalypse and focused on getting back home to his family never allowed him much time for romance or women, besides Delores. You stood up as bare as the day you were born, nipples perked up at the cold air and you put the silk top and bottom on. Now properly clothed you turned to Five who was staring at you with eyes that rivaled a burning sun. In a blink, he was in front of you grabbing your waist with such a force it felt like you would disappear if he let go. Bringing his lips to your neck he kissed gently and dragged his face to meet your eyes. Soft despreate lips met plump shy ones as you and Five melted into each other. The kiss grew hungry, more desperate, both parties missing the feel of one another. The two of you fell back onto the bed with Five on top of you. Two souls both isolated from the world finally finding solstice in one another. All the questions Five had for you were gone from his mind, the only thing replacing it was the thought of how your body felt against his. A small hand reached into the front of Five's pants. "I want to help Five" You had whispered into his ear. It was going to be a long night.

I’d want to make this into a full series although and go really in depth about Angel who she is and how she got her powers and I defiantly want to bring back the rest of the Hargreaves but I'm not sure when Ill have another creative burst.

about! sevika was a no nonsense, independent woman. until… that stubborn horse of hers just had to throw her off, leaving her with a bruised rib and dislocated shoulder. what ever shall she do…
cw! nothing serious; mentions of injury,
word count! 415
an! y’all can thank my allergies for this one, shit got so bad had to stay home !!
Tumblr media
sevika was a “no games” type of gal, you could say. with her little farm and the small general store she ran in town, that was enough to keep her occupied. and the few times she found herself with a little free time, she spent it drinking down a beer on the porch or occasionally playing cards at the saloon.
but, because of that stubborn horse, Dust, there’d be a slight hitch in the routine - a hitch in the form of a bruised rib and a dislocated shoulder. because of course the damn horse just had to get spooked by a distant gunshot, and throw sevika off of his back. breathing in certain positions was painful, bending over was painful, lifting bags of grain was tough, hell even saddling up the horse came with its difficulties. obviously, sevika couldn’t live her day to day life like this.
that’s when - albeit begrudgingly - she realized it. she would have to get help. from a person. which to her, was like a last resort, the world was ending, apocalyptic scenario.
──── ୨୧ ────
walking into her general store in town, with a makeshift sling around her shoulder, she saw you behind the register. sevika had hired you about 3 months ago, to manage the store whenever she found herself too busy. she gave a customer a small nod as she walked in, doing a general check up with her eyes. walking over to the counter, sevika accidentally bumped against one of the shelves which caused her to wince internally from the pain suddenly shooting from her bruised rib. she cleared her throat to try and cover it up, leaning her (good) arm on the counter.
“listen… had a little fall off my horse. nothin’ serious, just—" she exhaled sharply, shifting her arm, "—bruised myself up some. shoulder’s out, ribs ain't feelin’ too great. damn it—look, i need a hand, alright? figured since you already work for me, i’d pay you extra to come by the ranch, handle a couple things i can’t. just ‘til i get back on my feet. that’s all.”
you felt… quite surprised, actually. sevika was a woman who looked like and acted like she never needs help, often offering to move stock around whenever you and her happened to be in the store at the same time.
you raised an eyebrow, holding back a smile, “well, that’s somethin’ i didn’t see comin’. uh... sure, why not? when you need me to come on down?”

Tumblr media
It had been four months since I enrolled Mingi in the training program, and Bangchan had been kind enough to keep me updated on his progress. A smile tugged at my lips as I stared at the latest photo he sent—a playful snapshot of Mingi and Yeo towering over Bangchan, who was dramatically attempting to piggyback ride them.
I giggled at the sight.
Mingi had come so far.
From a timid pup who once hesitated behind me, he had grown more confident with each passing week. He was learning to trust, to play, to stand on his own four feet. Bangchan had even mentioned how Mingi had leaped to reach the bell outside the indoor playground—either as a challenge for Yeo or to prove something to Bangchan himself.
It had taken time for me to let Mingi be on his own, like a parent nervously watching their child on their first day of daycare. But it had taken even more for Mingi to learn how to be independent. With a soft sigh, I saved the photo and tucked my phone away before heading toward the kitchen. The next batch of croissants wouldn’t make themselves.
Just as I reached for the ingredients, the soft chime of the bell above the entrance rang.
I turned instinctively, expecting to see a new customer stepping inside. But there was no one. The only people in the shop were the usual customers, quietly enjoying their meals. No one stood at the counter. No one had walked in.
My brows furrowed. Shaking off the strange feeling creeping up my spine, I made my way toward the back, where Wooyoung and Hongjoong were eating their lunch. Something felt off. And I had a feeling I was about to find out what.
I gently ran my fingers through their soft fur, giving them a few affectionate pats before straightening up. The comforting warmth of the kitchen wrapped around me as I turned toward the oven, where the golden pies sat nestled inside.
The rich, buttery aroma filled the air, mingling with the subtle sweetness of baked fruit. Through the glass window, I watched as the crusts slowly rose, turning a deep, inviting shade of amber. Tiny bubbles formed along the edges, a sign that the filling inside was thickening perfectly. The sight made my mouth water, a quiet sense of satisfaction settling in my chest as I anticipated pulling them out at just the right moment.
Moving to the other side of the kitchen, I reached for my gloves, preparing to work on the croissants—only to realize I was missing a few key ingredients. Clicking my tongue in annoyance, I made my way to the back, where I stored the frozen supplies.
"Wooyoung, can you keep an eye on the café?" I called. Wooyoung let out a soft meow, finishing his meal before trotting toward the front. Hongjoong, however, stayed behind, his golden eyes watching me from the floor.
I chuckled, grabbing a small wooden bar to prop the walk-in fridge door open. Stepping into the freezing air, I shivered slightly as I scanned the shelves, grabbing two blocks of butter and a few other ingredients I would need later. A sudden gust of cold air sent a shiver down my spine as I adjusted my grip on the butter, turning to leave, when a sudden, sharp hiss echoed through the cold space, followed by the eerie screech of metal against metal.
My heart lurched, spinning so fast that it almost gave me whiplash, I watched in horror as the fridge door swung shut. The ingredients slipped from my hands as I lunged forward— But it was too late.
The heavy door slammed closed with a resounding thud. My breath caught in my throat as I grabbed the handle and twisted it. It won’t budge and panic swelled in my chest. I twisted the handle again, harder this time. Nothing.
The cold air wrapped around me, seeping through my clothes as my breath came out in short, misty puffs.
No, no, no—this wasn’t happening.
I had propped the door open. I was sure of it. I slammed my fist against the metal, the sound echoing in the confined space. "Anyone! Can someone hear me?!" My voice was sharp, edged with urgency. Outside, I could hear the faint hum of the café, the distant chatter of customers—so close yet completely oblivious to the fact that I was trapped.
The dim light flickered slightly, casting long shadows over the frozen shelves. My breath hitched, shortening as fear slowly crept in. Panic shot through me before I could think. My foot caught awkwardly against the cold tile, and a sharp jolt of pain shot up my ankle as I twisted it in an attempt to step back, the cold from the ground seeping through my clothes instantly. I winced, sucking in a sharp breath as I tried to push myself up, only to feel a dull ache radiating from my twisted ankle.
Something moved at the edge of my vision, making me panic even more. But instead of the threat my mind had conjured, a large, fluffy golden retriever trotted beside me, his pure boba eyes gazing up at me with quiet curiosity. His coat was slightly unkempt, his tail swishing lazily behind him. I blinked through the lingering sting in my ankle, my mind scrambling to process what I was seeing.
Where did he come from?
My mind suddenly had something to be distracted about, “W-Where did you come from?”
The golden retriever woof softly before turning the door as if showing obviously where he came from yet beyond that as I took a short realization. The café door chimed a while ago yet no new customer in sight— My pulse still thrummed from the lingering ache in my ankle as I stared at the golden retriever.
“Was it you?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
The dog simply stuck his tongue out in acknowledgment, tilting his head as if studying my reaction. But I hadn’t heard paws against the floor. No scratch of nails, no soft padding of footsteps. And yet, here he was—walking in like he had belonged here all along.
For a moment, I just stood there, staring. The logical part of my brain screamed that this didn’t make sense. No customer had brought a dog in. No stray had been lingering outside. And yet, this golden retriever had appeared out of nowhere, slipping into the fridge like a ghost.
A sudden chill prickled at my skin. My breath came out in uneven puffs as I turned toward the heavy door, still locked, hoping—praying—that someone would notice I had been gone for too long.
Fear crept through my body, cold and suffocating. The flickering lights cast erratic shadows, feeding the anxiety already clawing at my chest. My breath shortened, each inhale jagged, struggling against the growing tightness. The pressure built, making it harder to breathe, my vision blurring at the edges. Even as tears streamed down my cheeks, my body refused to cooperate. My fingers trembled as I gripped my pants, gasping for air, willing the panic to subside.
Then, warmth.
A gentle weight pressed against my side, grounding me. A soft whine broke through the haze of my spiraling thoughts. Blinking past the dizziness, I turned my head, he nudged me carefully, his body solid and warm against mine. His slightly unkempt coat brushed against my arm as he pressed closer, sensing my distress. A low, reassuring hum rumbled from his chest as he rested his head against my lap.
Somewhere in the back of my mind, I remembered—rescue dogs. Medical dogs trained to recognize anxiety and panic attacks.
Was he one of them?
Another soft whine, another nudge. The rhythmic rise and fall of his breathing urged me to match it. Slowly, shakily, I tried. Inhale. Exhale. The weight on my chest began to ease, just slightly.
I wasn’t alone.
The golden retriever stayed close, his warm weight grounding me as I focused on his steady breaths. Slowly, my own breathing evened out, the tightness in my chest loosening bit by bit. The dizziness faded, though my body still trembled with the aftershocks of panic.
Just as I was beginning to gather myself, the dog suddenly perked up. His tail gave a slow, gentle wag before he trotted off a few steps—only to return with something in his mouth.
The butter.
I blinked at him in disbelief as he carefully nudged it toward my injured ankle, his eyes gleaming with what I could only describe as triumph. A startled chuckle bubbled up in my throat. “Such a good boy,” I murmured, my voice hoarse from earlier.
He wagged his tail at the sound, as if pleased with himself.
As I reached out, my fingers sinking into his soft fur, he huffed in contentment and rested his head on my lap once again. I leaned against the cold door, exhaustion settling over me, but the warmth of his presence kept the lingering fear at bay. I absentmindedly combed my fingers through his slightly unkempt coat, finding comfort in the rhythmic motion.
Time slipped by and thirty minutes must have passed before a sudden rattle at the door made the retriever lift his head, ears twitching in alertness. A moment later, the door creaked open just enough for a familiar voice to break through the quiet.
“Noona!” Douyin rushed in the moment he spotted me, his eyes wide with concern. He dropped to his knees beside me, his hands hovering as if unsure where to check first.
“I’m okay,” I started to say, but the slight shift of my leg sent a sharp jolt of pain up my ankle. I sucked in a breath, a small hiss escaping before I could stop it. That was all it took before the golden retriever went over to my side, nudging my arm. I ruffled his fur, pain pumping through my legs,  “I’m okay, babe.”
The sound had barely left my lips before another set of hurried footsteps approached, "Twisted ankle?" Taehyun’s voice was calm but firm as he crouched beside me. I nodded, still a little breathless from the pain.
He sighed, running a hand through his hair before glancing at Douyin. "We need to get her out of here. Can you walk at all?" I hesitated. The retriever, still beside me, let out a quiet huff and pressed his nose to my knee, as if he, too, was waiting for my answer.
I shake my head, “No I can’t.”
The hospital room carried the sharp scent of antiseptic, softened by the faint traces of lavender from the fresh linens. My ankle, wrapped snugly in a bandage and resting on an ice pack, hadn’t swollen as much as usual, yet the dull ache served as a lingering reminder of the earlier panic. Despite the sterile surroundings, one thing remained unchanged.
The golden retriever hadn’t left my side, well technically, he sat just outside the hospital room doors, his ears perked and his deep, boba-like eyes watching over me. It was as if he had appointed himself my personal guardian.
I chuckled as I waved at him, amused by the way his tongue peeked out and his tail wagged excitedly at my acknowledgment. Near the door, Douyin stood with his arms crossed, observing my interaction with the dog before letting out a deep sigh.
"Okay, this golden dog here kept barking at us when the ambulance doors were about to close. And now, he's guarding you like you're his owner," he said, tilting his head as he eyed the retriever warily.
I sigh, “I am not sure but he could be lost or anything.”
Taehyun hummed, his hands in his pockets as he leaned against the wall, eyes scanning the hallway. “He was also trapped in the freezer with you, wasn’t he?” I sighed, running a hand through my hair. “I’m not sure either.” glancing down at the retriever, his warm brown eyes filled with an unspoken familiarity.
“That’s strange,” Douyin muttered, rubbing his chin. “Most dogs would’ve panicked in that situation. But he stayed beside you the entire time?”
“He did,” I murmured, recalling the way his presence had kept me grounded in the freezing darkness. “It was like he knew I needed him there.” Taehyun exhaled through his nose, his expression unreadable. “Then maybe he smelled something from you.”
Douyin scoffed. “Great. First, a freezer incident— you getting injured, and now a mystery dog that won’t leave your side. What’s next, we’re gonna adopt him?”
Tumblr media
“Okay, I was just being sarcastic!” Douyin exclaimed as he helped me into the wheelchair. I chuckled, glancing at the golden retriever, who sat casually by the car Taehyun had brought earlier, his tail thumping against the pavement.
“I didn’t say that,” I said, adjusting the blanket Taehyun had placed over my legs as he began pushing the wheelchair toward the car. “I just want to find out where he came from and return him to his owner.”
Douyin started the car, but his voice carried a knowing edge. “But will you?”
A sudden ache bloomed in my chest at the thought of returning the retriever to someone else. I sighed softly, stealing a glance at the dog, who sat beside me, patiently waiting for me to get into the car. His warm brown eyes held a silent understanding, almost as if he could sense the conflict in my heart.
Taehyun and Douyin must have noticed my change in expression. Douyin crouched to my level, placing a warm hand on my knee. “I don’t know what’s really going on with all of this—the dog, the freezer, that symbol on your wrist—but if you know something, I’ll help you.”
I smiled, reaching out to give his hand a grateful squeeze. “Thank you, Do,” I said softly.
Taehyun let out a sigh before squatting down as well, his expression serious yet familiar. “And whatever crazy shenanigans are happening in your lives, count me in. I have a feeling I’ll be needed here more than I thought.”
I gave his hand a small squeeze too. “Thank you, Taehyun.” Just then, the golden retriever suddenly hoisted himself up onto his hind legs and let out a soft bark, his ears perking up. We all chuckled at his adorable actions, the weight of the moment lifting ever so slightly.
The ride home is quiet, the hum of the car lulling me into a half-conscious haze. My eyes remain closed, my mind drifting, until a gentle nudge against my hand pulls me back. My lashes flutter open, and I find myself staring into a pair of warm, doe-like eyes. A soft chuckle escapes my lips as I thread my fingers through the golden retriever’s thick fur.
“How are you, baby?” I murmur, my voice barely above a whisper.
He lets out a small squeak, shifting closer, pressing himself into me as if seeking comfort. With a deep sigh, he settles, his breaths evening out into the soft rhythm of sleep.
From the front seat, Douyin glances at us through the rearview mirror before speaking, “Do you think Min would like a temporary roommate?”
Beneath my touch, I feel the retriever twitch slightly, but my fingers continue their soothing strokes through his fur.
I exhale a quiet laugh. “He already has a playmate he looks forward to seeing every day. Maybe having a temporary one will help him socialize more—see more dogs besides the two felines ruling the house.”
Taehyun, seated beside me, hums in agreement. “That’s actually great for Mingi, though.”
The mention of my husky’s name sends a jolt through the retriever. His head shoots up, eyes darting around the car in search of the familiar presence. I startle for a moment, fearing I may have accidentally hurt him, but then I see it—the flicker of recognition, the way he looks at me with silent curiosity, I smile, rubbing his ears gently. “You’ll meet him soon,” I assure him. “I think you two are going to get along just fine.”
Yet when I observe his ears and body language, he seems anxious.
“What? Is he okay, noona?” Douyin’s voice is sharp with concern, but I can’t bring myself to answer. My mouth hangs open, words caught in my throat as I watch the dog whimper, his wide eyes scanning his surroundings—searching, desperate.
The unease thickens in the car, the tension palpable as we pull up to the apartment. Douyin parked the car and when Taehyun opened the door to help me out, the moment he saw the doors swing open, the retriever bolted.
“Hey! Don’t go!” I call out, my voice laced with panic. But he’s already gone, a golden blur disappearing into the night.
A sharp jolt of fear surges through me. I try to move, to chase after him, but the throbbing pain in my ankle anchors me in place. I sink down in frustration, helplessly watching as he vanishes down the street.
Douyin, seeing my distress, doesn’t waste a second. His seatbelt is off in an instant, and without hesitation, he’s out the door, his footsteps pounding against the pavement as he takes off after the runaway dog.
“Douyin!” I called out, my voice strained with worry, “I’ll be back!” he shouts over his shoulder, his figure disappearing into the dimly lit street.
Even with Douyin running after the dog, my heart refuses to settle. It beats wildly against my ribs, the anxiety pressing in like a vice. My fingers curl into the fabric of my clothes as I stare after them, a sense of helplessness washing over me.
Taehyun’s warm hand finds mine, a grounding touch against the rising tide of panic. “Hey,” he says softly, his gaze steady. “Douyin will find him. Let’s get you inside first.”
I hesitate, my eyes flickering toward the street one last time. But the dull ache in my ankle reminds me that I’m in no condition to chase after anyone. With a reluctant sigh, I nod. “Okay.”
Taehyun moves swiftly, helping me into my wheelchair before guiding me toward our apartment. The air is cool against my skin, but my mind is too preoccupied to register the chill. As we roll up to the door, it swings open to reveal Bangchan’s familiar, ever-cheerful face. His smile, however, falters the moment his gaze drops to my injured ankle. His brows knit together in alarm. “What happened?”
I wave him off with a tired chuckle. “Accidents happen at work.”
He exhales sharply, clearly unconvinced, but steps aside to let us in. “You seriously need to be more careful, your babies being surprised to find a stranger in their territory,” he mutters, giving Taehyun a nod in greeting as he holds the door open wider.
I chuckle, “Mingi loves you, Bangchan.”
“Undoubted.”
The second I’m inside, a blur of movement streaks across the room. Wooyoung and Hongjoong, my two beloved felines, leap from their cat houses, their tails flicking as they meow in concern. Mingi, my husky, is not far behind. He jolts upright at the sight of me, his ears perked before he launches himself forward, nearly knocking into the wheelchair in his excitement.
“Okay, okay, I missed you guys too,” I laugh, reaching out to scratch behind Mingi’s ears as he presses his face on my uninjured leg. Taehyun carefully settles me onto the couch, ensuring my ankle is elevated before stepping back. I lean into the cushions, the exhaustion from the day creeping into my bones, weighing down my limbs.
Bangchan plops onto the armrest beside me, arms crossed. “Good thing I was already on babysitting duty for your little monsters. I got the call last minute when you were rushed to the hospital.”
I smirk, my eyes fluttering shut for a moment. “What would I do without you?”
“You’d probably be buried under a pile of fur and bad decisions,” he quips, nudging my shoulder lightly. A soft laugh escapes my lips. Despite the playful banter, a heaviness lingers in the air. My thoughts drift back to the golden retriever, to Douyin still out there searching for him. My fingers tighten around Mingi’s fur as I murmur under my breath, “Please find him.”
Taehyun notices the way she shifts slightly, her breathing evening out, the exhaustion finally catching up to her. Mingi rests his head gently on her lap, while the two felines, Wooyoung and Hongjoong, curl up beside her, their small bodies rising and falling with each soft breath. Bangchan watches the scene unfold, his gaze lingering on the quiet serenity surrounding her.
He exhales, a knowing look crossing his face. These animals aren’t just pets to her—they’re something more. A connection that runs deeper than mere companionship. A bond woven by fate.
A destiny that slowly builds itself up, piece by piece.
Sensing the shift in the air, Taehyun nudges Bangchan toward the door. Without a word, Bangchan gets the message. He moves to grab his bag, pausing only to give a small wave to the resting trio before following Taehyun out of the apartment.
As Taehyun closes the door behind them, he turns to Bangchan. “Thanks for taking care of her babies. And sorry for the last-minute call.”
Bangchan scoffs, slapping Taehyun’s back lightly as they walk toward the elevator. “It’s nothing, man. Besides, taking care of fur babies isn’t exactly new to me.” Taehyun chuckles at that, but as they approach the elevator, something in Bangchan clicks in his mind. His brows knit together. “Wait… where’s Douyin?”
Taehyun lets out a sigh, running a hand through his hair. “Well… He ran after a dog, and I don’t know where they are now. I’ll have to go out and look for them.”
Bangchan frowns, his curiosity piqued. “A dog? She adopted another one?”
Taehyun shakes his head. “No. It’s… complicated.” The elevator doors slide open, and they step inside. The air between them grows heavier as Taehyun continues, his voice lowered this time.
“The golden retriever was found inside the walk-in freezer… with her. In her café. It—” he hesitates, piecing the words together, “—it was like it was protecting her. Like it knew something. And to be honest, I have my suspicions…”
Bangchan’s eyes narrow, his mind working quickly. “That’s weird. And what’s even weirder is that she keeps meeting these animals—like it’s some kind of pattern.”
Taehyun nodded, agreeing with him. He leans against the cool metal of the elevator wall, rubbing his jaw thoughtfully. “Think about it. Wooyoung appeared on the night she finished her shift in the cafe that marked her anniversary since opening the cafe. Hongjoong? She met him almost a year ago in the same place where she met Wooyoung. Then Mingi. And now, a golden retriever just conveniently shows up when she’s in trouble?”
Bangchan shakes his head, a dry chuckle escaping his lips. “Man, you and your suspicions.”
Taehyun smirks, but deep down, he knows Bangchan is thinking the same thing. Then—almost like a silent cue, a shift in the air—they both turn to each other at the same time.
“Don’t you think—” Bangchan starts.
“They’re…” Taehyun trails off.
Silence hangs between them, thick and charged. Then, as if fate itself had been listening, the small monitor above the elevator doors flickers to life. A commercial fades out, replaced by breaking news. Their gazes snap to the screen just as the images of missing idols flash across it. The breath in their lungs stills. A strange, sinking realization settles deep in their bones. Something isn’t right. Reality just became far more complicated than they ever imagined.
Tumblr media
Douyin bent over, hands braced on his knees, his breath coming in ragged gasps. His chest heaved as he exhaled loudly, trying to steady himself. Sweat trickled down his temple, gathering at his jaw before sliding onto his already damp neck. The fabric of his shirt clung uncomfortably to his back, soaked through from the relentless chase. He pushed back his messy hair, strands sticking to his forehead as he scanned the dimly lit street.
He had been running after the golden retriever for at least an hour, weaving through alleys and side streets, only to lose sight of it when it turned a sharp corner. Now, his legs ached, and frustration gnawed at his stomach. He leaned against a cold cobalt wall, pressing his palm against it for support as he reached into his pocket for his phone to call for his friend.
Before he could dial, something tugged at his pants. He froze.
The golden retriever had returned, its mouth gently latched onto the fabric of his jeans, insistently pulling him forward. Its eyes, deep pools of urgency, flickered with something that made Douyin's heartbeat quicken.
“Woah, woah—easy, boy,” he murmured, but the dog didn’t let up. Instead, it tugged harder, urging him toward the shadows.
Douyin hesitated as they entered a dark alley, a place where the glow of a distant streetlamp barely stretched. The air was damp, thick with the scent of rain-soaked pavement and something faintly metallic. He pulled out his phone, its screen casting a bluish glow over the cracked concrete, but the retriever kept leading.
Then, it stopped.
Douyin followed the dog’s gaze—and his breath hitched.
At the far end of the alley, nearly swallowed by darkness, sat a small cardboard box. The golden retriever whimpered before lowering itself onto its haunches, nudging the edge of the box with its snout.
Douyin’s pulse pounded in his ears as he approached. His trembling fingers tightened around his phone, using the dim light to illuminate the contents.
A tiny, frail puppy lay curled inside. Its fur—what little was left of it—was patchy and matted, its ribs faintly visible beneath sickly skin. The rise and fall of its chest were barely perceptible, but as the light hit it, a weak shudder ran through its small body. It was alive. Barely.
Douyin swallowed the lump in his throat and turned to the retriever. “Is he your brother?” His voice came out softer than he expected, almost breaking at the end. The retriever didn’t answer, but it didn’t need to. Instead, it pressed its snout against Douyin’s hand, a silent plea. Save him.
Douyin’s fingers curled into a fist before relaxing. His gaze darted between the trembling puppy and the loyal retriever sitting beside it, eyes filled with desperate hope.
“I’ll save him… good boy.” His voice was steady this time, filled with quiet resolve. The golden retriever let out a soft bark, as if in relief.
Carefully, Douyin adjusted the box, making sure the frail pup was as secure as possible before lifting it into his arms. The retriever padded closely beside him, watching his every move, trusting him.
Douyin took a deep breath and stepped back into the light. There was no way he was going to let the little one die tonight.
Tumblr media
That night, Douyin rushed toward Taehyun’s veterinary clinic, his heart hammering against his ribs. The golden retriever ran beside him, ears pinned back, eyes filled with silent urgency. At the same time, Taehyun was already on his way to find Douyin, his phone gripped tightly in his hand as he relayed instructions to his nurses.
By the time Douyin arrived, the clinic was brightly lit, the sterile scent of antiseptic filling the air. Inside, Taehyun and his team were already gathered around the examination table, carefully assessing the frail puppy. The golden retriever sat rigidly by Douyin’s side, ears twitching as he let out a soft whimper, his gaze locked onto his injured sibling.
Douyin swallowed hard and crouched down, running a steady hand along the retriever’s fur. "He’ll be okay," he murmured, his voice quieter, reassuring. "You did a good job rescuing your brother."
The retriever didn’t move at first, his body tense. But after a moment, he nudged his snout against Douyin’s wrist and exhaled shakily, as if absorbing his words. Douyin let out a small chuckle, continuing to run his fingers through the dog’s soft coat.
“Hey, man…”
Douyin turned at the sound of Taehyun’s voice. He gave the retriever one last pat before carefully lifting the exhausted dog onto the clinic's couch. As he approached Taehyun, he caught the relieved sigh leaving the vet’s lips.
“How’s the pup?” Douyin asked, glancing past him toward the operation room.
Taehyun rubbed the back of his neck, his gaze briefly drifting toward the doorway. “The little guy’s stable. There was an infection around his right leg, but it’s healing well. He was probably left out there for days, maybe even longer.” He sighed, glancing at Douyin. “How did you even find him?”
Douyin exhaled, his eyes shifting to the retriever lying on the couch. “I didn’t.” He glanced back at Taehyun, a flicker of something unreadable crossing his face. “He did.”
Taehyun’s expression faltered. His lips parted slightly before he turned to look at the retriever in silent astonishment. “You’re telling me he led you to him?”
Douyin nodded.
Taehyun’s fingers curled slightly at his sides, his mind racing. His conversation with Bangchan earlier—about the strange way animals seemed to find him, to trust him, to appear in his life as if drawn by some invisible force—crept into his thoughts. He hadn’t wanted to bring it up. Not yet. But now, with everything unfolding like this, with Douyin neck-deep in an investigation that seemed to twist further into the unknown, he had no choice.
He let out a slow, measured breath. “Do, I know how much you love your sister and all…”
Douyin raised an eyebrow at the sudden shift. “Are you asking for my permission to date her?”
Taehyun shot him an incredulous look. “I mean, I was planning to at some point, but—” He shook his head. “That’s not what I meant.” He hesitated for a second before finally meeting Douyin’s gaze, his voice dropping to something more serious. “You guys don’t know where these animals keep coming from… but I think I might have an idea.”
Douyin stared at Taehyun, “What is it?”
Tumblr media
Douyin sat in his dimly lit office, the soft hum of the overhead lamp casting long shadows across the stacks of reports and photographs sprawled before him. His fingers hovered over the latest file—eight new names, eight more disappearances added to an already unsolved case.
The weight of it settled in his chest.
The case had gone cold for years, whispers of missing idols fading into the background of newer scandals and distractions. But now, the sudden reemergence of these disappearances—paired with the fresh addition of eight more victims—had forced the justice system to take a second look. And for reasons still unclear to him, Douyin had been assigned to piece everything together.
He leaned back in his chair, rubbing his temples as his thoughts ran wild. It was unlike him to be pulled from the courtroom into something this intricate. Prosecutors do investigate but—they build cases, argue in court, and lay out evidence prepared by detectives. Yet, here he was, combing through inconsistencies, looking for a pattern that others had missed.
Douyin’s eyes narrowed as he skimmed the reports again, this time more carefully. The dates, the locations—at first, they seemed scattered, random. But when he laid them out on a timeline, something clicked. The disappearances weren’t as sporadic as they seemed. There was a rhythm. A strange, almost ritualistic spacing between them—months apart, nearly a year apart in some cases.
It reminded him of something.
Or rather, someone.
His fingers drummed against the desk as his mind flicked to his older sister. For the past months, she had been adopting animals—abandoned pets, two that had wandered into her life as if drawn to her.
And there was something else.
His gaze dropped to his own wrist before he slowly looked toward the framed photo of his sister on the shelf. He had ignored it before, brushed it off as coincidence, but now he couldn't shake the unease creeping up his spine.
That mark. That strange symbol that had appeared on her skin. It was similar to the group that she had been idolizing for years before their disappearance.
At first, she’d hidden it, dismissing it as nothing more than an odd birthmark or a smudge of ink. But Douyin had seen it more than once, traced in faint, intricate lines, sometimes more pronounced than before. He had never questioned it—until now.
His heart pounded. Was there a connection?
The rational part of him told him no, that his sister had nothing to do with this. But the prosecutor in him, the one who thrived on uncovering truths buried beneath layers of deception, knew better than to ignore a lead—no matter how personal it felt.
He reached for his phone, fingers hesitating over the screen before dialing. The call rang twice before a familiar voice picked up.
"Douyin? What's wrong?"
He swallowed. "… I need to ask you something." The case had just become more complicated than he had ever imagined.

By your parents' last evening in San Diego, Bradley had put them in touch with the realtor he used to buy the Craftsman. They spent hours walking around Coronado with Rose in her stroller all week, looking at houses and getting more ideas. And then they delayed their flight home two times. The fact that they didn't seem to want to leave their grandchild was heartwarming, and now they were seriously talking about moving.
"By the end of the year, we are moving" your mom said, burping Rose in the living room. "I just can't stand the idea of waiting until July to see her again. Makes me want to cry."
It was April now, and they promised to come back for a visit around Independence Day. Bradley already had plans circling in his mind about where he could take you for a few days alone, because things were about to get a lot tougher without your parents around. The two of you were going to need a little vacation to look forward to. And if he could get you alone, he could get his hands all over you as much as the two of you wanted.
"So, are we going back to Mexico or Hawaii in July?" Bradley asked later that night while he watched you get undressed before bed. Your tits looked incredible, nipples huge and pert as you removed your nursing bra.
He forgot what he had even asked you as you ran your fingertips along your breasts and scoffed at him. "Neither, Roo. We have to get serious about saving money for Rose to go to college in just eighteen years." When you pulled your shorts down, he could see your rooster tattoo, and now he really couldn't think.
Bradley grunted. "She'll get a full ride to school. She takes after you. She's already a genius. Whenever I call Tramp, she points right at the dog."
You sighed and smiled at him. "I think you're being optimistic." Your hands were back on your tits, and he immediately reached for his cock, your eyes tracking his every move. "Bradley."
"What?" he rasped, thinking about last week in the backseat of the Bronco. That was the last time the two of you really messed around, and he could tell there were moments when you were uncomfortable in your own skin. But he hadn't stopped wanting you for a single moment. "How do you expect me to watch you strutting around the bedroom completely naked and not get hard?"
You turned toward the bathroom for a few seconds and muttered, "I look weird."
"You look beautiful." When you finally met his gaze, he said, "I love you too much to lie to you, Sweetheart."
He was plainly hard in his boxer briefs with his hand resting on his thigh. He'd never try to pressure you to do anything physical if you didn't want to, but there was no way he was going to let you think you suddenly turned him on less than before.
You dragged your fingers across your breasts again, and Bradley groaned before you tangled your fingers in your necklace chain. You looked a bit bashful, and even that was fucking him up.
His voice was raspy, and his throat was dry as he sat up and asked, "Do you want me to show you?"
You shrugged and looked at him out of the corner of your eye. "Only if you want to."
He was up off the bed in an instant, grabbing you as gently as he could. "Roo," you gasped in surprise as he carried you back to the bed.
You were completely naked, head on his pillow, leg hitched around his hip, and Bradley kissed you so hard, you were moaning. "If you leave the decision up to me, I'm always going to want to show you how I feel about you," he said, voice deep and needy. His fingers grazed along your body, lower and lower until he touched your clit, and you arched off the bed.
"Fuck," you moaned, voice breaking.
"You're so fucking hot," he whispered, running just his index finger through your pussy. You were soaking wet. "You're killing me, Baby Girl." He traced your tattoo, decorating your skin with your wetness while you looked up at him with parted lips and half lidded eyes. You watched him bring his finger up to his lips, and with one swipe of his tongue, he was moaning, too. "Six weeks is a long time when you look this pretty and taste this sweet."
Your teeth sank into your lip before you murmured, "You're killing me, too." Then your fingers were tangled in his hair, and he eased his body down so he was resting against the warmth of your core. It was so close to what he wanted right now, but he knew he couldn't go all the way there. The frustration building inside him was almost pleasurable as you gasped his name as he sucked on your neck.
Nails pressing into his scalp, you didn't stop him when he pulled himself free from his boxer briefs and ran his cock through your pussy. "Jesus Christ," he hissed, guiding his hips away from your body as you pushed him off of you. But instead of telling him to stop, you rolled him onto his back and yanked his underwear down his legs.
His cock was in between your lips before he knew what was going on, and he saw stars as you sucked on him. "Fuck, Sweetheart. Oh, god."
You pulled him free and shook your head. "If you can't be quiet, then I can't give you a blowjob. My parents are out in the living room."
"Please, stop talking about your parents and just give me head," he begged, already panting as you smirked at him. His balls were already tight as you licked your lips and parted them once more for him. Your tits looked irresistible as you knelt between his spread legs, and he would be lucky to last a full minute with this kind of treatment. "I was supposed to be the one showing you how much I want you," he whispered, trying not to thrust up into your mouth.
You responded by taking him deeper until he was grabbing at the bedding to hold back his orgasm. This time when you pulled him free, your saliva dripped onto his thigh. "Just take what I can give you right now."
Two pumps of your fist, and you were sucking on him until he came long and hard, fist in his mouth to make sure he was quiet. You swallowed down his cum and licked him clean as he stared at the ceiling in a daze. "You give me everything."
------------------------------
You fell asleep with a smile on your lips after your husband took his time with you, rubbing your clit with practiced fingers and whispering the dirtiest things about how good he was going to fuck you in another few weeks. As it turns out, you also needed to be reminded to be as quiet as possible, especially when he was a whining mess over your breasts.
Even though you knew Rose would have you up in a few more hours, you let yourself drift off to the sound of Bradley's heavy breathing and the warmth of his body. Whenever you started to feel bad about the way you looked, he seemed to be able to lure you back on track. He didn't mind your weird body one bit, and in fact, he was literally counting down the days until you and he could have intercourse. And you wanted it, too.
You barely heard your daughter when she started crying to eat around midnight, because your mom was in the nursery with her so quickly, it was ridiculous. When you padded down the hallway, still half asleep, you could hear her singing to her granddaughter.
"I got her," you murmured when you walked into the room, and you realized your mom was crying. "Are you okay?"
She kissed Rose's head and whispered, "Of course. I just don't want to be so far away from the three of you. Rose is exactly the way you were as a newborn; a sweet little snuggle bug who turns into a bit of a terror when she's hungry. I can't get enough of her."
You laughed as you sat down in the glider, and she handed your daughter to you once you were ready to feed her. Rose curled up against your body, clearly very hungry. "She is honestly so sweet."
"I love her so much," your mom whispered. "Are you going to be okay when we leave in a few hours?"
You stared at the night light in the corner of the room, surrounded by darkness otherwise. The exhaustion you felt since Rose was born started to get better while they were here, and you knew for a fact that things would start to get harder again soon. "Yeah. We'll be okay. Bradley and I will take some vacation time in July when you come back to stay with her." You met your mom's eyes where she stood. "You and dad are really good at this."
"I'm happy you think so," she said softly. "Retirement is looking better by the minute."
She sounded like she was about to cry again, so you politely kicked her out of the nursery before she could start. She needed to get some rest before their flight home, and you needed to get used to doing this on your own again. You almost craved the routine of going back to work. You missed seeing Cat every day, and you even missed your boss. Rose would be old enough for the daycare pretty soon, and you could sneak over on your lunch breaks to check on her.
But at the same time, the idea of someone else taking care of her for eight hours a day had you almost panicking. "Why are you like this?" you whispered to yourself. You could barely control your emotions at times right now.
"My girls okay?"
Just hearing Bradley's voice made you relax, and you realized Rose was starting to slow down as you turned to look at him in the doorway. "Yeah. I was trying to let you sleep."
He gave you grabby hands, and you noticed he had the Nugget notebook tucked under his arm. "Let me burp her and read a bedtime story so you can go back to sleep."
You knew he had to drop your parents off at the airport in a few hours and then turn around and go right to work, but he wasn't going to be deterred. He took Rose and settled down on the floor with a grunt, kissing her head as she yawned. With the night light shining next to him, he juggled her and opened the notebook, and you stood in the doorway and listened for a few minutes as he read one of his entries to her.
"You'll never guess where I am right now. No really. It would be impossible, because even I don't really know where I am! But it's somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, I know that for sure. And while I'm really, really far away from you and your mom right now, the two of you are all I can think about."
--------------------------------
Bradley was standing in the living room wearing Rose in her carrier and holding two massive bags filled with gear. "Is this all really necessary?" he asked as you ran around grabbing more stuff.
"Do you think we should drive?" you asked, popping the stroller open and looking at it with concern.
"Sweetheart, the beach is like three blocks away," he replied, trying to keep his tone even.
"The beach with a lot of rocks is like three blocks away," you said, exasperation lacing your voice. "Do you think we should drive up to the better beach?"
In his opinion, all of the beaches in Coronado were going to be the same, as long as the two of you didn't attempt to walk down the cliffs beach with her yet. "I think we should just go to the closest beach for a little bit and then head home again."
You sighed in annoyance. "Just for a little bit? Well then what was the point of packing all of this shit?"
Bradley desperately wanted to scold you for swearing in front of the baby, but he used every fiber of his being to press his lips together and clear his throat. "It's the Nugget's first time at any beach. We're just going to have to see how long she lasts before we need to bring her back."
"Fine," you replied, picking up the bag of sandwiches you packed and heading for the front door. "I just wish I knew why babies required so much stuff. Nothing about this is easy."
He followed in your wake. "I'm pretty sure all the babies of the world got together and plotted against their parents, because all of it is hard." At least that got a smile out of you as you plunked your sunglasses onto your nose, and he followed you out to the porch. "Let's just leave the stoller here. I like carrying her."
It was actually so beautiful outside, Bradley was thankful it was a Saturday. You took his hand in yours, waving at the neighbors along the way. "You look stupid sexy with that baby carrier on, Roo."
"Stupid sexy?" he muttered, adjusting the little sun hat on Rose's head. "Explain."
"I tried," you groaned. "But you don't listen, Bradley. You're a DILF. Even the way you're taking care of Rose is hot. Like you're already handsome, but now you're just oozing so much sex appeal, it's stupid. Like an ovary explosion." You made a sound like a bomb blowing up and gestured with your hands in front of you as you walked.
"Yeah... I don't see it," he murmured, reaching for your hand again. When he looked in the mirror now, he saw more gray hair and quite a few wrinkles, but that didn't stop him from trying to be the best dad he could. "I'm just focused on Rosie. You and Rosie. My girls."
You gave him side eye. "That's what makes it stupid," you muttered. "You know what, it doesn't matter." You kissed Rose's fingers as the entrance to the beach came into view. "Hey, little Nugget," you whispered as her eyes fluttered open. "Welcome to the beach."
The expanse of sand and the glittering water beyond were so bright, Bradley shielded her face, and she burrowed against him. "It's okay, Rosie," he murmured, kissing her hat as he hustled along the mostly empty beach. "Daddy's got you. I'll get you set up with some shade. I like the shade better, too."
It was a joint effort, the way you held the baby while Bradley ran around, setting up a canopy and laying out blankets and towels. "You're stupid sexy, too," he said as you distracted him for about the tenth time. "You know that, right?" You didn't verbally respond, but you did look pleased with yourself as you set Rose down on the beach blanket, fully in the shade.
"Do you want to take her down to the water?" you asked, looking up at him.
He shot you an incredulous look as he took his shirt off. "Are you out of your mind? The waves are massive! Something could happen to her!"
Now you were doubled over in laughter on the blanket next to her. "It's not like I suggested that you take her surfing, Roo! Just carry her down to the water's edge!"
He was still hesitant. "Okay. But just for a quick look." Bradley scooped up his daughter, who always looked delighted to have him around, and he carried her slowly down the beach until the cool water met his toes. "This is as far as we go," he whispered, kissing her cheek as she closed her eyes. "Until you've had swimming lessons." He felt your hand on his back, and he turned to you and asked, "When can Rosie take swim lessons?"
"Bradley, she's less than a month old."
"That's probably when future olympians start," he mused as you rubbed sunblock all over his back and shoulders. You were standing in front of him now, laughing and swiping the lotion on his nose when an older woman stopped walking along the beach to approach you.
"You have a beautiful family," she said, smiling at Rose who was currently yawning.
"Thank you," Bradley replied, turning a bit so she could get a closer look. When she offered to take a photo of the three of you, he had you reach into the pocket of his cutoff jean shorts and unlock his phone for her.
Bradley looked ridiculous in the picture with windswept hair and streaks of sunblock on his face and shoulders, but you and Rose both made it his new favorite photo. He set it as his phone wallpaper.
---------------------------
"Am I doing this right?"
Cam was sitting on your living room couch, holding Rose with a look of sheer panic on his face.
"No," Maria told him. "You're not. And you look constipated."
You started laughing and didn't even try to hide it. "Just hold her against your chest, and she'll probably fall asleep. She's definitely a snuggler."
He did as he was told, but there was still a firm crease along his forehead. "Babies are terrifying," he muttered, letting you adjust his hands for him.
Bradley was still at work, having agreed to teach another dog fighting drill with Maverick, and you were thankful your friends were keeping you company. It wouldn't be too much longer before you were back at work yourself, where you would be able to see your friends more frequently.
You watched Maria stand and kind of limp into your kitchen. "Does anyone else want a drink?"
"Absolutely not," Cam replied. "I need to keep two hands on the baby at all times."
He got an eye roll in response from you as you told Maria, "Sure, and I also need you to tell me why you're limping. Are you okay?"
A devilish smirk found her lips. "Maybe you should ask Bob about that one."
"Ew," Cam replied. "Unless I'm the one getting plowed by an aviator, I don't need to know any details." When you opened your mouth to say something, he quickly added, "You're just as bad as Maria, so don't even start with me. Just let me be afraid of holding your child in peace."
Then he settled back against the couch with Rose, and you joined Maria in the kitchen. "You're like seriously limping," you whispered, and she snickered.
"It's not what you think. I just can't resist giving Cam a hard time. Bob and I were in the shower together, and I pulled a muscle."
"Maria," you hissed. "You were in the shower with Bob, and you expect me to believe it wasn't sexual?"
"I wasn't," she insisted, getting two glasses of water ready and handing you one. "I just... ever since he got back from his deployment... I really like being around him as much as possible."
You knew how Bob looked at her. Like she was a mermaid. Or a fairy. Something magical and unbelievable. Maria wasn't known to be gushy or sappy, but she talked about him like he hung the moon, and that was all you needed to know.
"I'm happy for you."
She smiled just as you heard Cam gasp and start freaking out. "I think the baby pooped! Cancel that- I know the baby pooped! I need backup!"
By the time Bradley got home from work, you had dinner in the oven, and you were nursing Rose on the couch. Your husband looked exhausted but freshly showered with damp hair, and he made a beeline directly for you. He kissed your forehead and then her tiny fist.
"You alright, Roo?"
"I had a long day," he whispered. You were a little worried that something happened that made him seem so tired, but he smiled as he said, "But your appointment with Dr. Morris later this week is going to make it all worth it. I can't wait to hear her tell me I'm allowed to fuck my wife."
"You're so horny!" you complained half heartedly as he kissed your cheek before heading into the kitchen to take dinner out of the oven as the timer went off.
"Six weeks is a long time when you've got your tits out all day and all night."
Truthfully, there were times when you were positively aching to be with him like that, but there were moments when you couldn't understand how he still wanted you. Your stretch marks were wild, and you looked so flabby and weird. You had no idea how you'd manage to lose the weight you gained when your whole world revolved around pumping and feeding Rose, and on top of that, you'd be back at work soon and busier than ever.
You heard Bradley's groan of delight from the kitchen as he took a bite of dinner. "This is delicious, but still not as delectable as you, Baby Girl."
Even when your brain told you not to believe him, your heart did.
----------------------------
Bradley insisted on accompanying you to your six week checkup with Dr. Morris. He sat in one of the chairs in the exam room with Rose all wrapped up like a burrito in his arms, careful not to get her perfect face too close to his hard insignia pins. He watched as you got a pelvic exam, and then the doctor pushed on your belly while you made a face of discomfort. He held Rose a little tighter when you tried to smile at him.
"Everything feels and looks good. You can head back to work next week," Dr. Morris said as she removed her latex gloves. "Do you have any questions for me?"
Bradley listened to you rattle off several questions which rolled into a fresh conversation with your doctor. He really didn't want to be the one to ask about intercourse, but now you were sort of smirking at him. Okay, you were treating this like a game, toying with him. He was absolutely down for that, and it wasn't like he hadn't completely embarrassed himself in front of your physician before.
"If neither of you have any other questions, you're free to go-"
"Actually, Dr. Morris, I do have one last question." He cleared his throat and stood with Rose while you started to get dressed, trying to hide your smile from him. "I'd really like to have sex with my wife as soon as possible. Is that six weeks postpartum rule hard-and-fast, or would tonight be suitable for that kind of thing?"
You were hiding your smile behind your hand, but he could tell you were laughing as Dr. Morris humored him. "Well, the guidelines say six weeks, so I would absolutely stick to that. We like to make sure proper healing has occurred. If you don't start taking oral contraceptives right away, I would definitely advise you to use condoms." She glanced at your chart and added, "Two more days probably won't kill anyone, and at that point, you'll be at six weeks."
"Speak for yourself," he grunted, slipping Rose back into her car seat carrier. "Thanks, doc."
"Two more days," you told him as the three of you walked out to the red Bronco. "You're doing great, Daddy."
Bradley groaned as he buckled both of you in, and he pulled out of the parking lot without another word.
You shouldn't have been surprised, but you definitely were when, two nights later, his phone alarm started blaring at one in the morning. You were just settling back in bed after feeding Rose when you looked at him with wide eyes. "Wait, did we forget to do something?" you asked. "What's the alarm for?"
Bradley simply held up his phone screen for you to see the alarm which was titled My wife is exactly 6 weeks postpartum.
You rolled onto your side, cackling with laughter. "It's not funny, Baby Girl. I've been waiting for this moment for a long time." He snuggled under the covers and said, "I'm ready to get my world rocked whenever you feel like rocking it, so you just let me know."
His eyes were closed when he felt your lips ghost along his cheek on their way to kiss him. "Why not right now?"

Bath Time ┃MV1
Pairing: Dad!Maxverstappen x mom!reader
Warnings: none
Tumblr media
It was a sunny afternoon and Max was enjoying a rare moment of downtime. He decided to start his Twitch stream, giving his fans an insight into his life off the court. While Max chatted with his audience while playing f1 '23, his girlfriend Y/N was facing a small but important domestic challenge.
Her 4-year-old daughter, Olivia, was in the middle of a heated confrontation with her mother. The battlefield? The bathroom. Olivia steadfastly refused to take a shower, asserting her independence with all the determination a toddler could muster.
In the Verstappen house, Y/N took charge of parenting duties and was not one to back down easily. As she tried to convince Liv to go to the bathroom, the girl's cries grew louder and echoed through the hallways of the large house.
Max, sitting in his gaming chair with headphones on, was mid-sentence, talking about his recent run when he heard the commotion. He frowned and removed an earpiece to capture the growing drama outside the room.
Y/N, with a mix of frustration and patience, shouted, "Via, it's time to shower, honey. Let's go now."
But Olivia wanted nothing to do with that. She broke free of Y/N's grip and her little feet scampered across the polished floor. Bursting into Max's gaming room, she threw herself onto his lap, tears streaming down her face.
"Daddy, I don't wanna take a shower! Tell Mommy I wanna stay with you!" Olivia's words tumbled out between sobs.
Max, caught off guard by the sudden intrusion, looked at the camera with a bewildered expression. He chuckled as he realized his Twitch audience was witnessing a moment of fatherhood live.
"Uh, guys, it seems we have a little situation here," Max said, his eyes meeting the camera with a grin.
Following her, Y/N entered the room with an exasperated sigh. "Max, please. I need your help. Liv, it's just a quick shower, and then you can come back and hang out with dad, okay?"
Olivia, however, clung to Max and her screams turned to sobs. Max, always the good sport, put his arms around her, rubbing her back, trying to calm her little girl down, trying to stifle his laughter.
But since the door was still open, the cats ran into the room and climbed onto a small couch Max had somewhere in the room, starting to fight, causing more commotion to the whole thing.
Max was trying to calm his daughter when his words were interrupted by the loud sound of his country's national anthem, realizing that he was still live, and only managed to cover his face with both hands while his daughter continued crying, clinging to his neck and his girlfriend was trying to stop the cats from causing more damage.
Y/N couldn't help but laugh when she saw the scene that was unfolding. Everything had gotten out of control. Once she got the cats out of the room she couldn't help but smile as she saw the scene in front of her. Max, was now a comforting refuge for her daughter from the dreaded shower. The Twitch chat erupted with a mix of emojis and comments, turning the unexpected family moment into an endearing moment for Max's fans.
And so, with a little coaxing and a lot of laughing, Olivia finally agreed to take a shower, safe in the knowledge that more playtime with Dad awaited her afterwards. As Y/N led Via away, Max couldn't help but shake his head with a smile, realizing that even in the world of fast cars and competitive racing, family moments took center stage.
there you go love💗🤭 hope you like it

First love
Tumblr media
Part of the mariquita universe. i didnt proof read this at all :)
its about 4.7k words. bit of yelling, mentions of sex.
It took a long time for you to be comfortable telling your parents what you needed. Everytime you tried, the worst washed over you. But it never happened, both your mami and mama would move mountains for you.
This time it was because you felt a little neglected. Rio was two, he was mobile and just loved to be around people. Olga got one on one time with him most days, your mami however did not. A large quantity of her free time in the evenings and even weekends was spent playing with Rio, which left very little time for you.
As you were sitting on the couch, your mami on your right and Olga on your left, Rio in bed.
“I have something to say.” It came out a lot harsher than you were anticipating, both your mami and Olga whipped their heads around to look at you, slightly taken aback by the way you spoke. “Sometimes I feel a little left out because you both have one on one time with Rio and not with me. I know he’s small and needs help but it would be nice to have one on one time too.” You couldn’t lift your head up to look at them, feeling slightly embarrassed that you weren’t being more independent.
“Mariquita, I’m so sorry. We are sorry, that you’re feeling that way. How about we make a plan? One day or morning or whatever, we can have it as just us. No one else.” Your mami said as she stroked through your hair.
“What about Olga?”
“What about me? You want to have one on one time with me too?”
“Well yeah. You’re my third parent?”
For the 6 years that Olga had been in your life, she had tried not to make any parenting decisions directly to you, always texting your mami and mama, not wanting to over step the line but now with you saying it, she felt more at ease. To her you were her daughter, just as much as Rio was her son.
“How about on Saturday mornings we alternate? One week with me, one week with your mami, then if it’s a home game we can have a movie night on Saturday nights?” Olga knew she had to hold in her tears, saving them for when she was wrapped up in alexia’s arms later tonight.
“I like that plan.” Your mami kissed your head, giving Olga’s shoulders a squeeze from behind you.
For the next year, that’s how to worked. Every week you’d have one on one time with your mami and Olga. Even if Olga was meant to be in Madrid, she’d make time for you. Very occasionally someone else would join. Sometimes Alba, sometimes one of two of Olga’s friends.
With your mami, your favourite thing was going on a hike. They weren’t particularly easy ones and not once did she complain. With Olga, you typically ran, 5 or 10kms, sometimes going to Pilates or yoga, always ending up at your favourite cafe for brunch and coffee.
————————————-
As you got older, more mature, so did your body. To your mami and Olga, it was like you grew boobs overnight. The boys and girls at school noticed too. You went from being a flat chested, quiet girl, to being a c-cup, pretty and popular.
Your bright green eyes, light freckles that littered your face, stood out to the boys but one boy in particular. Juan had been in your class since you moved. You didn’t know much about him, he was athletic, enjoyed playing football but he was also creative. He drew a lot, you would see all the drawings as you passed his desk in the mornings. He was in the ‘popular’ group at school but he was definitely the most quiet out of them.
There were times when you were paired together, during gym class or biology but you were never really able to talk. It was all about school and getting the work done.
It wasn’t until the Sant Jordi festival that you really got to know him. The Barcelona team, Olga and a few of her friends were going, your friends too. Your mami let you go off with them for a few hours, only for most the girls to go off with their boyfriends leaving you alone with Juan.
“So, um, what do you do for fun?” He would barely look at you, hands buried in his pockets to avoid an accidental touch.
“I like to run, do yoga, hiking, I like science and reading too. How about you? I know you play football.”
“I like hiking too! I do play football, not for Barcelona or anything yet. But that’s the dream right?” He chuckled slightly.
“Yeah I guess.”
“You don’t like football? I thought you would because of your parents.”
“I like watching, I don’t like playing. It was never really fun for me considering who my parents are.”
“Ah gotcha.” That was all that was said for a while, until you saw your mami who waved you over.
“I’ve got to go. My mami is waving me over.”
“Do you want to go on a hike together?” You both spoke at the same time. Blush creeping over both your cheeks.
“A hike sounds good. I can give you my number and we can organise it?”
“Yes!” He practically shouted, “I mean, yeah yeah that’s cool.” You swapped numbers before saying goodbye and running over to your mami and Tia’s.
One look from Mapi meant that you’d talk about this later. Later when your mami and Olga were no where near.
It took a few days of talking and planning until you were able to settle on a day that would work. There was only one problem: your mami and Olga. Usually they were fine with you going to hang out with your friends but this was different. Or at least it felt different.
You decided to pull someone into this and help the cover for you. Your first thought was Mapi and Ingrid, but Mapi had a big mouth and would tell your mami. Vicky was out, she too would accidentally let it slip, same with Patri and Claudia. The only option left was Alba.
“You want me to lie to your mami?”
“Well it’s technically not a lie because I will be with you, just not the entire time.”
“Fine. But if she finds out, you owe me £50 and you tell her the truth about her missing shoes.”
“Thank you thank you!” You hung up, rolling over and smiling like an idiot. Tomorrow you’d have your first date? Hang out alone with a cute boy? You weren’t sure what to call it but you were excited.
When the time finally came everything was set in motion. Your mami and Olga thought you were spending the afternoon with Alba, but you were going to be with the boy you had a crush on.
It felt like school drag on for you. Whenever you could spare a glance towards Juan, he was already looking at you. A love sick smile on his face. Your friends giggled about it at lunchtime and in between classes.
At first, it was a little awkward. Between carrying your school bags and the hike itself, there wasn’t much talking. Once you got to the top, Juan stopped near a clearing, pulling out a blanket and a container of food.
“I made us some afternoon tea.” The container was filled with chips, cookies, soft pretzels, some cut up strawberries and watermelon.
“Did you make these?” You gestured towards the cookies and soft pretzels.
“I did. I like to bake, sorry if they aren’t good-“ you leaned towards him, kissing his cheek and effectively shutting him up.
The rest of the afternoon was filled with lots of laughs and getting to know each other. You’d never been on a date before, or really been around straight couples, but if your mami and mama felt this way about each other when they met, then you knew it was going to be good.
The hike back down was a lot less awkward than before, when Juan reached for your hand to hold you let him. Smiling shyly up at him. You could see albas car a little up the path from where you had stopped.
As you both awkwardly stood there, you took your chance. You stood up on your tippy toes and kissed him. He kissed back almost immediately and when you pulled away, you both had mirroring smiles.
“I had a really good time today. Thank you for the afternoon tea.”
“I did too. Can we do it again? maybe we can do out for dinner or something?”
“Yes!” Alba car horn made you whip around, “text me? I gotta go.” You kissed him again then walked away, feeling a feeling that you’ve never felt before.
Alba was sitting in the front seat of her car, having watched the whole thing, remembering helping your mami sneak off to go on a date with your mama.
“So… how was it?”
“It was fine. A nice hike, he made some afternoon tea, had my first kiss, talked about our hobbies, his football. You know the usual.”
“YOUR FIRST KISS!?” Alba screamed. “How was it?”
“It was good. Really good. Better than I imagined.”
“This calls for ice cream.”
“Mami is going to be annoyed.”
“Who cares.”
Your mami was in fact annoyed. Going on and on about alba spoiling your dinner and how you both knew that you weren’t allowed ice cream so close to dinner but you didn’t care. All you could think about was your first kiss with Juan and how he continued to text you even though apart of you thought he wouldn’t.
For the next few weeks you and Juan continued your secret dates. Sometimes it would be just as simple as watching him at football training, or going for a run together. Olga had noticed something was up, you generally weren’t the typical phone always in hand teenager but over the last few weeks you had been. That and the love sick smile on your face whenever you looked at your phone.
“I think Mari has a boyfriend or girlfriend.” It was said in the safety of their bedroom. The house was quiet, both you and Rio were asleep.
“Oh?” Alexia put down her iPad, “what makes you think that?”
“She’s always on her phone now, smiling at it. She’s also spending a lot of time with Alba.”
“She’s always been close to Alba.”
“I know, but this feels different.”
“Okay, how about I ask Alba since she can’t lie to me, and you ask Mari?”
“Okay.”
They talked a little more to make the plan fool proof. Alexia would corner Alba, a short time after Olga cornered you. Olga would report back to alexia and alexia would use that to get the truth out.
But it wasn’t that easy. While you had been spending time with Alba, you’d managed to finally rope in a Vicky and Pina. At first they were hesitant, neither could lie to your mami if they interrogated her but you promised it wouldn’t come to that. Alba didn’t know exactly how much time you were spending with Juan and that you had gotten two more people in on it.
When Juan asked you to be his girlfriend officially you were over the moon. You’d lied yet again about where you were and who you were with. This time, you were alone in his room. His parents were still at work and one thing led to another. You left his house that afternoon with an ache between your legs and a smile on your face. You had a boyfriend. You were happy and you had entered a new stage of your life.
It had taken a week for Olga to be able to effectively corner you. It was your time for one on one time with her, this week was a 10km run followed by a swim at the beach, then brunch.
“Do you have a boyfriend or girlfriend?” Olga had completely disregarded the plan her and alexia had, wanting to get straight to this point.
“Yes.”
Olga’s head turned around so fast you’re surprised it didn’t snap off. “You haven’t said anything? How long?”
“I don’t know. Couple of months.”
“You’ve been using alba to cover for you?”
“Alba, Vicky and pina. Only a few times a week.”
“Why?”
“Mami is… overbearing. She’s Alexia Putellas for Christ sake.”
“She’s protective. Only wants the best for you, we both do. Have you told your mama?”
“No. Only alba, Vicky and Claudia plus my friends at school. I guess you too now.”
“You need to tell her.”
“I know. I will.”
It wasn’t spoken about for the rest of the day, Olga never did message Alexia so she couldn’t interrogate Alba. You were stewing away trying to figure out how to tell her. You wanted it to be at home, somewhere she was calm knowing that she would freak out.
But it didn’t work out like that. On sundays you’d always go to your Abuela’s for dinner. No matter what, everyone was there. It was something your Abuela had been incredibly strict on.
Throughout the night, both Olga and Alba kept giving you looks. Alba had mentioned that something seemed different about you, but you shrugged her off. After Olga put Rio down in the portacot in the spare room, something inside you snapped.
“I have a boyfriend and I had sex with him.” As soon as you realised what you blurted out, you covered your mouth.
The sound of cutlery hitting the plates seemed like the loudest thing in the world.
“What did you just say.” Your mami asked, you were pretty sure she heard and the vein popping out of her neck confirmed it.
“Ale-“ Olga started.
“No! Repeat what you just said!”
“I have a boyfriend, his name is Juan. He plays football, he’s really great mami.”
“I didn’t ask his name y/n. I didn’t ask if he was nice or what his hobbies were, I asked you to repeat yourself.”
“I have a boyfriend and we had sex.”
Everyone watched on in horror as Alexia slammed her fist on the table, “you’re 15! A child. You’re child who should not be doing that!”
“You had sex with mama when you were 16.” Something inside of you wanted to fight back, to stand up for yourself. “The only difference is Juan is a boy and mama is a girl. Alba had sex at-“
“Enough! I cannot believe you would be so irresponsible, so reckless. Is that why you made Alba lie for you?” Her voice was getting louder and louder. Olga was silently worried that Rio would wake up.
“How would you know if I was reckless? All you’ve done is yell at me. I didn’t make Alba do anything! She is an adult!” You matched her volume, yelling back.
And right on que, Rio woke up. The scrapping of Olga’s chair and his screams snapped you both out of it.
“Get in the car. Do not say another word.” Your mami was seething. There’s only one other time you’d seen her like this, it was when you were being bullied at your old school but this time, her anger was directed at you.
You didn’t even bother saying goodbye to your Abuela or to Alba, slamming both the front door and the car door as you sat down.
Your mami spent the entire car ride trying not to blow up at you, you could tell by the way her hands gripped the wheel and her posture was stiff. Occasionally Olga would turn back and give you a sympathetic look, she didn’t know for a fact that you and Juan had sex but she could’ve guessed it. To your mami, you were the shy, scared four year old even if you were the opposite at 15.
As soon as the car was in the garage you made a move to get out, “don’t even think about it.” Your mami gritted through her teeth. You weren’t sure if she was going to punish you by making you sleep in the garage, or if she needed a quiet place to kill you.
Olga got Rio out and made her way inside, deciding to ignore your mamis demand you got out of the car. You were full of emotions, you were mad at your mami for the way she was acting, you were sad she didn’t trust you but a part was also relieved that she knew.
“Give me you phone, laptop, iPad. Hell any device you can message on, I want on my bed in the next 2 minutes.”
“Mami that’s not-“
“2 minutes.” She stormed off down the hall, no doubt to message your mama and ask for her help in this matter or maybe she was going to google ‘how to deal with your child having sex.’
You knew that trying to fight her on this wouldn’t end well so you begrudgingly gathered up your devices. Apart of you was going to make this difficult for her, if you couldn’t have you laptop you couldn’t do school work, then she’d get a call from your teacher but that would be her fault not yours. Same with your phone, she wouldn’t know where you were or what you were doing. The convenience would be turned into an inconvenience.
“You’re not to go anywhere after school. I will drop you off and I will pick you up. No phone, laptop, iPad, anything. You will come home, do you homework and chores and stare at a wall. I do not want you talking to that boy. I will book an appointment with a gynaecologist and we will go. There is no discussing this.” She didn’t even look at you. The disappointment was radiating off her.
“You and mama were the same age as me. I don’t see the big deal in this.”
“That’s exactly the problem, you don’t see the big deal in this. You’re a child y/n, you’re not some adult who gets to frolick around. I thought you knew better than this, I’m dis-“
“If you’re so ashamed of me then I’ll go live with mama! You won’t have be repulsed every time you look at me!”
“Fine! Go live with your mama! Go right ahead, move to Mexico, say goodbye to your little boyfriend and your friends. You think you’re so grown so go ahead.” You knew she didn’t mean it because she had fought hard to keep you in Spain, more than once.
“I hate you!” You screamed at her as you slammed the door closed. Throwing yourself onto your bed and screaming into your pillow.
While laying there crying, you were trying to make up a plan in what to do. Flying to Mexico was out of the question, you needed your phone and passport, both which your mama had. Running away was an option that you were on the fence about. You could hide, but that would be unfair to Olga and your other family.
Over the next few days you refused to talk to you mami, not that it really mattered since she wasn’t talking to you. Olga could tell you were mad and sad about the entire thing. There was no part of her that was disappointed or mad at you, it was a natural thing to do. Teenagers have sex, she had sex as a teenager, both or mami and mama too.
She kept her word, dropping you off at the gate everyday and picking you up. The only way to talk to your friends and Juan was at school. It was annoying for everyone.
Usually, your mama would take you straight home, cancelling her appointments that she usually had in the afternoons, today however was different. All week she was grumbling to Olga about how the club was making her go to the La Masia trials, the same trials that Juan had been talking about all week. It never clicked until you pulled up.
“Why are we here?” “Trials. Don’t embarrass me.” She barely looked at you and got out. It was slowly getting to you. Your mami was your best friend and now she was treating you like shit.
The first hour was spent standing around, staring at the grass as your mami spoke to all the coaches. It wasn’t until 15 minutes before the trials began that you saw Juan and his family. His mami and papa and little sister were always at his trainings and games, showing support whenever they could.
After an hour it all came crashing down. You didn’t realise it at the time, but when you went over to say hello to Juan and his family, your mami was watching. She realised right away who the boy was and made a mental note of it. You had gone off to the bathroom, finally allowed to be alone after having your mami breathing down your neck.
Panic arose in you when you saw your mami and Juan’s parents talking. With her scowl on her face, you knew it wasn’t a friendly conversation.
“Our children seem to be dating, we need to set some boundaries. If the children, because thats what they are, are at either houses I need there to be adult supervision and for the bedroom doors to stay open.” Your mami crossed her arms, looking over as you walked towards them.
“I agree, y/n is only ever allowed over when one of us is home.” Juan’s father, Jorge said.
“Well if thats the case then they wouldn’t have been able to have sex would they?” “Excuse me?” His mama, Isabel got defensive , “they have never been home alone, they go out after school alone, but never ever have they been home alone.” Jorge had removed himself from the conversation, walking over to Juan and pulling him by his jersey to his mama.
“Ms Putellas has just told us that you and y/n have had sex? You are never home alone so this isn’t true is it?”
Both you and Juan stood there in silence, knowing that whatever the answer you’ll both be in trouble. “You were asked a question, answer it.”
“Yes we had sex. Tia was on the phone to her boyfriend and so we were in my room with the door closed.“ “Juan! Not only have you disrespected our family, our rules, but you also disrespected the Putellas family. Go get in the car, you’re done today.” Juan looked like he was about to cry at his papas words. You knew that if he left early, he wouldn’t be counted in the trial and his dream to join Barcelona would have to wait another year.
As he walked off, not even sparing you a glance, you could feel the tears slipping out of your eyes. The drive home was quiet, you sat there staring out the window crying silently. The coming days would be horrible, you just had that feeling.
And boy were you right. For three days, Juan ignored you until it got too much and you cornered him in the locker room as PDHPE finished.
“Why are you ignoring me?”
“Im not” he continued to pack his bag.
“You’re lying to me. Why?”
“My parents said it would be best if we didn’t see each other anymore.” He said it with the coldest voice, no emotions at all.
“Is that what you want?”
“Yes. I need to focus on school and on football.” “I thought you loved me?”
“Love doesn’t matter y/n. I need to go, my papa will be waiting.”
He left you standing there, crying in the middle of the boys locker room. Your heart had just been broken by the first boy you loved. So you did what you did best, you ran. You didn’t even take your school bag with you, or bother to tell you mami or friends. You just ran and ran until your tears were mixed with sweat and your chest hurt.
Albas house is where you ended up and luckily she was actually home when you pounded on the door. She took you in no questions asked. Holding you sweaty gross body close to hers as you cried into her. It didn’t take long for you to fall asleep, a mix of exhaustion from crying so hard and running all the way there.
When you did wake up, there were voices talking around you, you could feel a hand running through your hair. You tensed up at the thought of your mami being here.
“Relax mari, its just me.” Olgas voice calmed your ears. “Are you ready to go home?” She asked softly.
“Yeah I guess.” You got up, hugging alba goodbye and thanking her, then followed Olga down to her car. Neither of you spoke, but she did give you a small sympathetic smile and squeezed your shoulder.
You knew it was bad when you walked in the front door and Olga didn’t even greet your mami. To be the cause of their fight made you feel incredibly anxious. Olga followed you into your room, sitting on the edge of the bed as you made yourself comfortable.
“Can you tell me what happened?” You nodded and told the entire story. How everyday you and Juan would spend all the breaks together, how your mami acted insane today at the football trial and how Juan broke your heart and didn’t even care.
On the inside, Olga was seething. She had already gone off at Alexia multiple times about this whole thing, and for Alexia to go behind her back and break a promise, made her see red.
For two days, Olga let you stay home with her and Rio. Your mami wasn’t told, Olga just said she was talking you to school. For two days, you got to lay in bed and sulk. Feel whatever you needed to feel and then you decided that was enough. You weren’t going to let a boy ruin the rest of your high school experience.
And so the next day you got up, scrubbed your entire body and put on a brave face. The kids at school whispered as they saw both you and Juan ignore each other, your friends groups stayed separate and the girls refused to talk to the boys.
All that was left to face was your mami. Your mama, Olga, abuela and alba had all torn into her. She overreacted and ruined a relationship.
“Mari, can we talk for a moment?” Your mami asked as she stood in the doorway to your room.
“Depends, are you going to yell at me or tell me I’m a disappointment again?
“No. That was a mistake. I should never have said those things to you because you aren’t a disappoint, you’re strong, brave, and the perfect child.” She walked over to your desk chair, sitting down. “I had never imagined you having a boyfriend or having sex. In my head, you were still our little baby, not someone who is going to be an adult in three short years.”
“Mami-“
“No please let me finish otherwise Olga might kill me.” You both laughed, knowing that Olga was probably waiting in bed for this conversation to end. “Your mama and I had sex when I was 16, alba had sex when she was 15. The difference being, I didn’t have a pregnancy scare but Alba did. She didn’t tell abuela, and I carried that secret for years, so when you said you had sex all I could imagine was a 15 year old Alba crying in my apartment.”
“I understand, but I promise we used a condom. It was only one time and it wont happen again because he broke up with me.”
Your mami frowned, then her eyes went wide, “he broke up with you because of me?”
“Yeah.”
“I am so so sorry. If I could go back in time I would.”
“No mami, its fine. He obviously wasn’t worth it but if you do it to the next person I probably wont be so forgiving.”
Your mami laid down with her, letting you snuggle into her. For now your relationship Ould be strained and maybe it wouldn’t ever be as good as it once was but for now it was fixed.

tw: suicide attempts
It was such a cold night, a woman was violently grabbing her little daughter, forcing her to walk faster when she clearly knew that her daughter was blind and knew little about the streets.
‘mommy! you hurt me...’ The little girl sobbed, still trying to keep up with her mother, whose patience was clearly running out.
‘You, dumb kid, you don't even know how to do that!’ the lady shouted, some people looked at the situation with sadness but still did nothing, they complain so much and do nothing.
‘but mommy— i'm a good kid! I swear!’ She screamed back, still not understanding where to walk. What a big mistake (name).
The woman suddenly stopped her hurried steps, causing the little girl to crash into her and fall onto the cold, hard cement.
‘mommy?’ She called her mother but received no answer, her nerves and anxiety intensified even more and soon her breath was cut off, still desperately calling her mother but she just watched from a distance as she got into a black car, looked back at her little daughter and sighed tiredly, regretting having brought into the world such an innocent creature like her.
‘Let's go.’
The car started and drove off, leaving you to the dangers of the streets, with no defense for yourself. From that day on, you understood that it wasn't worth chasing people who only kept you away, that memory it's like a nightmare that repeats itself over and over again.
You understood that your current family wasn't worth it if they just left you aside, you could go out on your own or at least try, however, you knew that at least once you were old enough you would leave and be much more independent.
That was all you wanted but fate has other plans.

‘Your mother has told us wonderful things about you!’ The lady exclaimed so excitedly as she snuggled up to her husband, looking at the beauty of her niece's creation.
You had dissociated so much that you forgot half of the conversation, you didn't even know if Bruce and his children were still in the room, anyway, this was only your business and no one else's in that family.
‘my mother? oh.’ You murmured softly, lowering your head as you played with your hands that at some point, you started to hurt too much.
‘She's very sorry for what she did! She wants to see you.’ The man said, smiling so much that even if you didn't see them, you would know that they make up for that pure joy of seeing you, how cheesy.
You felt the anger of seeing that woman again. You tried to smile, but it was probably no use. This was all stressful, and it was your birthday! How hateful.
‘Your mother misses you, really... Maybe we could—’
‘NO!’ you screamed, silencing your uncles or whoever, your breathing quickened, you hate seeing that woman, you hate her, you hate this family, you hate everyone, they probably see you as a weirdo, a stranger in this family but it's okay, you always were, no one could really change that.
You didn't shout much and when you did, it bothered you, right? But none of your brothers could know it.
Half the family was here, chatting quietly in another part of the mansion, forgetting you in the process of everything, but your scream disconcerted them a lot. Damian heard you and quickly ran into the living room only to be stopped by Alfred who was proudly aware and waiting for him to be called.
‘You—!’
‘Me.’
While you, you... You were so upset that you didn't want to talk to anyone anymore, you knew that if you left right now they would stop you and God knows what they could say or do to you and your last hopes were that butler, the only one.
‘A— Alfred!’ This time you didn't scream, fearing something worse so you just said it in a slightly lower tone since you knew he was close, waiting for your cry for help and so it was.
The man walked in with such a serene face even if the previous discussion had made him feel uncomfortable.
‘sir and... miss, I need you to leave.’ — ‘BUT! why?!’
The argument escalated, you hated hearing the voices of that family and you hated seeing how Alfred dealt alone, yeah... You hate this family.
You sighed and started walking trying to get out of there, still stumbling in some places.
You had let your guard down for the first time, the subject with your mother was something you hated to talk about, you hated feeling how you trembled just by hearing words about her, why were you born? Why why why why why.
You were so caught up in your own thoughts of pain that you simply didn't pay attention to Damian, or anyone from this stupid family, they only cared when they showed up and then they left, they left you alone, if you were the same as before that would have devastated you but now you just didn't care, just like they don't care about you either.
Should you die? Yes, you could definitely try... lock you up and and....Yes, you will.
You walked and walked, with only one idea, to get rid of this unhappy life you got, this life that hates you that even had to put obstacles in your way to finally bring you down.
The noises had become muffled around you and as you felt yourself getting further and further away, you felt how the cold darkness of the mansion had subjected you to those thoughts and bom. A blow brought you to your senses.
You had collided with something or someone, it was hard as a wall but soft enough to try to tell it's a human or a dead.
You knew who he was, who was the one who always looked in the dark, who simply ignored you and acted as if you never existed, yes, the biggest failure of this family apart from you, Jason.
His presence was never pleasant and you always ignored him because he did the same thing, and you did it again, you pretended he wasn't there, you pretended to be the useless blind girl. You touched your sore forehead and sighed, you started walking again, this time trying to reach the stair railing to guide yourself better and get to your room as quickly as possible and you did.
You quickly locked yourself in and sighed. What would you do? You couldn't think properly in that state, you really couldn't then... Why?
You ran your hands through your hair, desperate, you didn't know whether to pull it out or not, you didn't know whether to scream or just cry, you hated feeling weak under their gaze.
Not even the girls in the family were here although they wouldn't be of help either, horrible, horrible!
‘ugh....’ Your throat hurt and you felt a sour taste, you wanted to catch the food that was going to come out in your mouth, but could you? You felt terrible and soon you felt the taste leave your mouth, a choking sound echoed in the room and you sobbed. ‘ugh— I feel sick....’
Now you were in the solitude of your room and your intrusive thoughts, becoming clearer and clearer, you didn't want to give in quickly.
