been chatting with a friend who's playing through PN2 again and i want it to be known i will not hear anyone say a WORD about Hollis giving Raz a hard time at the beginning of the game. if anything she is OUTSTANDINGLY accommodating to this random ten-year-old who wandered in unattended off the plane in the middle of an extremely tense situation

Honestly, I feel like Basira being in a teaching position makes so much sense with her character, because like being a cop it comes with a position of authority (that can be abused) but it’s also clear that Basira is someone who wants to help people, even if in TMA that led her down a path where she did the opposite. So her choosing education in this one, especially ones higher up like a deputy headmistress— where you both have more power and respect but as a result more ability to create positive change— is actually a really great reflection on who she is as a person and her values.
(and now it’s making me wonder where Daisy would be in this universe— then again, she probably wouldn’t even be Daisy because she wouldn’t have had that experience with Calvin Benchley and such. But I think that also means she could be working in a completely different place since I feel like the Hunt had a lot more of an influence for her becoming a cop than Basira did.)

I think most people know about this already, but it keeps staying in my mind so I'm going to write it down. The reason why the Night Nurse had to go through a package to get to Edwin and Charles at the end of the season is because she doesn't know their address. And she cannot get to them without a precise address (paper works and all that). And who has always seemed to know wherever the boys currently are? The mailman. Hence.
This is such a small detail, but it works so well with the continuity that I couldn't help but pay attention to it.

.....what if Azula was the Avatar?
Would Ozai keep her as a soldier, a tool against the other nations? Would he try to kill her?
If she showed signs of another element as a small child, would Ursa have seen?
Would Iroh?
Would Iroh have tried to keep Ozai from getting his claws into her while urging her to hide her earthbending? Would Ursa have tried to take her and Zuko away with her?
Would Azula have gleefully tried to show off more bending to prove why she was more talented than Zuzu?
Would she have been torn between "Daddy will be thrilled!" and "Daddy would kill me?"

It is genuinely not surprising that Ashton has such a strong The Gods Are Going To Kill Us take on the situation, given what they specifically have seen and what they have to relate to. They're about two weeks out from 1.) getting done violence onto them by an angel and then 2.) being told they have a bit of a dead thing that the gods tried to kill inside them. Then they go and put a lot of effort into getting that dead scrap to wake up (with disastrous consequences illustrating how incredibly volatile its power is). Then they have their only religious friend blow up in front of them. Then they watch a movie trilogy where the only non-god main character is another earth genasi broken-walking-timebomb whose main purpose on the mission is to explode when the gods need him to. They don't see the Lawbearer weep for her son, they only see the Emissary, a child, crying because he's afraid to die. Then they go to Vasselheim, the city of the gods, and see the corpse of a Titan, the dead thing the gods killed, yanked out of the earth and puppeted by one wannabe god and now desecrated in death by the overconfident followers of all the others. They're making something beautiful out of it, they're living on it, and normally he'd be in favor of that but they don't even know its name. They're building new temples on the corpse of the old world, hollowing it out and starting fresh, and Ashton is a part of that old world. They cannot stop being connected to a power the gods seem to, at best, be willing to weaponize. That would make anyone paranoid; given their background it's impressive that he's not more combative, tbh.

the frozen ii ending makes me soooooo angry like the whole POINT of frozen i was that elsa learned that she could rule arendelle with her powers and with anna by her side!!! literally in the bway musical she sings ‘i know i’ll never see that sunny day / when this trial is finally through / and it can just be me and you’ like. elsa WANTS to stay with anna
and they try and explain this somewhat in into the unknown, with the ‘who knows deep down i’m not where i’m meant to be’ but. WHY isn’t she where she’s meant to be. all of the first film was her learning that she belonged in arendelle and her powers/herself wasn’t something to be afraid of. why isn’t she meant to be with her family? with her sister who’s been desperate to reconnect with her? why doesn’t she belong where people readily love her and accept her and want the best for her?
and then, what about anna? there is no mention of her wanting/being ready to be queen in either two films. we don’t even see the offer on screen; we don’t get the sisters’ quiet, vulnerable conversation where elsa admits to wanting to live with the rest of the nature spirits and anna offers to take her place as queen. we don’t see anna begging elsa to stay in the forest because she can rule if elsa’s happier there. we never see their dialogue. it’s just so sudden. is anna once again just going along with what her sister wants? is elsa isolating herself all over again? we just don’t know. they both seem happy, but there’s barely any indication that it’ll lead up to that point.
it just makes no sense for either of their arcs, or their previous wants/needs. if they were meant to stay together, why separate them again? they just got each other back. and now they’re alone again.

Genshin Impact 4.2 spoilers!
No really, I'm not over the absolute silliness of Furina's situation.
Imagine being Furina. You're faking being an archon. You have not an ounce of hydro power in your body. You cannot enact miracles, fight monsters, or even exhibit a single bit of godly energy. A Blubberbeast can bowl you over.
And then, out of absolutely nowhere, the sovereign dragon of water shows up on your doorstep and is like "Okay, I received your letter. I am here. I heard there is a job for me?"
I M A G I N E the blue screen this girl experienced.
"Letter? Ah, yes, right! The letter I most definitely sent! And the job I most definitely asked you to do! Er... I just want to confirm you fully understand my sacred request--what, exactly, do you think you've been invited here for?"
Did she know he was a dragon from the moment he showed up, or do you think she only found that out later??
Focalors: Don't worry babygirl, I am sending you help! 😘
Does she even know that archons and sovereigns are sworn enemies???
Do you think he got in line with everyone else to see her when he first showed up???
Furina: That's. A. Dragon.
Even more, like imagine the temporary relief. You're a young woman with no experience at playing an immortal being or ruling a country. You have no special memories or powers that will help you here, just a talent for acting.
Then a grown ass man with nearly flawless control of hydro and clearly otherworldly presence shows up, and you're like "Damn, I can work with this!"
...Only for him to end up being the most awkward person you've ever met, who struggles to carry on a conversation that isn't about water or judgment. He understands less about humans that you do. He cannot act to save his own life, and he doesn't remotely want to. He hasn't even noticed that you're not actually an archon. One day, he shows up for work with like 50 baby vishaps in tow and throws the entire country into interspecies chaos. The tabloids can't decide if you created this weirdo to be your familiar or if he's just a really hot oceanid. Nothing you say or do now will help make the situation any clearer.
Somehow, this circus goes on for 400 years, and your country only gets mildly blown up and drowned.
Furina is STRONGER THAN GOD, is all I'm saying.
Fontaine's entire plot is so sad and yet soooo funny.

the zoey that lives in my head was the kid of a park ranger from BC who used to let her tag along all the time, wrestling bears and roughing it animal-style, until she let slip to her classmates that she and her dad resorted to eating grubs when they got lost one summer. It being a small and conservative town, they never let Zoey the Bug Eater live it down. capitalizing on her love of indie music and vintage clothing (and her existing skill with sewing, which she learned from her dad), she decided to totally re-invent herself when she auditioned for the show. pretending to be your average hipster girl from Vancouver, she is desperate to make friends, and certain that no one will like her if they know she knows 20 ways to skin a deer. but her survivalist instincts lurk just beneath the surface...

do you think donatella resented diavolo for doing that to her or do you think she still kinda held onto his memory with a sort of fondness despite all of that (or perhaps a mix of both)

While i work I've been listening to an LP of the Telltale Walking Dead Games (the ones with clementine, I do not care about the others lmao). Ages ago when I played these I was well aware/amused that part of season 2 takes place in Parker's Crossroads/Parker's Run because I grew up right next to it and the detail stood out to me. But I never caught the line of "We'll head to parker's run. It's just up the road from here" until just right now. So I had a sort of "wait, where the fuck are they supposed to be right now?" (search)

ARE YOU SHITTING ME LMAO So by process of elimination, since it's the only city with anything even remotely resembling a large home supply store, that would mean they're in my literal hometown. My tiny hometown in the middle of nowhere that's never in anything that barely anyone knows of. How in the fuck lmao

power coming to love two humans despite originally believing they all deserve to die and aki coming to love two devils despite originally hating them and thinking it was impossible for him to care about one and denji who toes the line between the two coming to love aki and power like siblings despite his history of being abused by men and seeking validation through sexual/romantic relationships with women. and denji turning down a vacation to take care of power and aki trying to keep them from having to fight the gun devil and them going with aki to visit his family’s grave and lightening the mood for him and trying to cook him dinner and power asking denji to find her even though she won’t know him and to love her until she’s her again anyway i hate this manga for making me sob hysterically multiple times.
