Back around the time when IWTV premiered (but before I'd had a chance to watch it) I ended up on the L train to Brooklyn with Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid.

I'm a good New Yorker so I didn't bother them or say anything, but when my stop arrived, I had to essentially shimmy past Sam Reid to get out the door, and we made eye contact, and I almost lost it, and I'm certain that he knew that I knew who he was, and he kinda stared into my soul for a second, and I got off the train like, "OK YEAH THAT GUY IS FUCKING LESTAT."

A+ experience.

Also Jacob and Sam seemed to be having a blast together. It was very cute.

There are no more heroes.

Well, okay. Rewind a bit.

Danny has been doing the hero thing for a while now. He’s had a big reveal; everyone has accepted him (including his parents), the GIW disbanded, the Anti-Ecto acts repealed, and generally, everything is going great. Some of the A-Listers are even training as junior ghost hunters to help give him a break from his rogues! (Being Ghost King makes things hectic sometimes, and he just needs the extra help. Sue him!)

The point is, literally nothing is wrong with Danny Phantom’s afterlife.

And then Valerie Gray, the Red Huntress, disappears in front of his eyes.

Danny is baffled! She’s just…gone! Valerie just popped out of existence, like she was never there. But no matter how hard he searches in the Ghost Zone, he can’t find her soul anywhere. His core isn't broken in grief. So she’s not dead. Which is good. So then, where is she?

Some of the others come forward with ideas on how to find her. A few ghosts volunteer to go out into the mortal realm, an area Danny had declared off-limits, to see if she was out there. Danny approves it. He rounds up some of the friendlier (i.e., discreet) ghosts and Amity Parkers and demolishes the outside travel ban.

So everyone spreads out, looking for their dear frenemy and teammate. But it becomes apparent very quickly that something is wrong with the rest of the world.

There are no more heroes.

Every single living superhero on the face of the Earth has just…vanished. Villains are running amok; the countries are in chaos! Some aliens are invading Earth, mythical deities are trying to take over, and society is crumbling to the ground. Everything is on the brink of collapse.

Well, Danny was still there. And so were his people. They were pretty spread out, so could they just…take up the mantles? He also knew where to find the souls of dead heroes in the Zone; surely they wouldn't mind coming out of retirement for a little bit, especially if they couldn't die again. Oh! And that skeleton army leftover from Pariah Dark's reign might be useful in repelling those invading forces.

Honestly, there were more than enough hands to go around! And with the heroes gone, Danny didn't mind letting everyone out for a little break, as long as they followed his rules. They wouldn't stop the search for the other heroes, but hopefully, when they found them, the heroes wouldn't mind Danny's intervention too much. :)

In other words:

Someone fucks up, and all of Earth's living heroes are either wished out of existence or are whisked away to some far-off realm where Danny hasn't checked yet. In the attempt to figure out what's going on, Danny lets the dead run amok over the Earth as they search for clues. The skeleton army repels the invading armies, the souls of dead heroes deal with the world leaders, and his rogues and other Amity Parkers set up shop in place of famous heroes, trying to get the cities under control again.

Basically, they just do their best to keep everything from imploding until the Justice League and others are back.

(And why is it that Danny hasn't disappeared? Well, whatever caused everyone to go poof! only affected living heroes. Anyone heroes that were dead in the first place, or even just half-dead, stayed behind.)

did you know that Dean wakes up one morning and realizes he has a fucking bombshell of a wife/husband/spouse, a cozy (slightly rural) suburban house, and not one but three fucking daughters???? Did you know that he woke up one morning to toddler giggles and little kid bickering and baby babbling????? and your girls come charging in hushing their little giggles so they don't wake up mommy and daddy and so OBVIOUSLY he has to pretend to be asleep so he doesn't foil their plan. he focuses all his energy on keeping his face and body relaxed, keeping his breathing even. they're whispering and babbling and Dean peeks an eye open and looks at the love of his life and these three angels with their daddy's attitude and their mama's heart. they have your eyes and his smile. they're... the best parts of both of you, and there's something entirely new and beautiful in each of them too.

Bobby Dean is your oldest, and her 4th birthday is just around the corner. She's 3 and 3/4 right now, and won't let anyone forget it.

Your second is Jodi John, or JJ informally. She's fought her way half way through the terrible twos and is already getting a head start on the whole 3 going on 13 thing.

Mary Cass, or Cassie, is your youngest. She's just over a year old, and wants to do everything her big sisters do.

And Dean is looking at your little girls, and at you. He sees the way the morning sunlight dapples in through the window and illuminates their tangled hair and disney princess nightgowns. Your face is all puffy from sleep, and you still smell like the apple pie you made yesterday.

it's real, he realizes. that pipe dream that apple pie life.

you gave that to him. you did that. you turned his deepest, most unspoken desires into a reality like it was nothing. and every ounce of joy and love and peace he feels every moment of every day, he owes it all to you. You try to tell him on occasion when he gets all sentimental on you, he deserves it. he deserves every good thing he feels, and he's so great with the girls, he's a natural dad and you couldn't possibly dream of a better husband to do it with.

Because at his heart, Dean is a family man. He's your family man.

I'm watching the sam ant vod. sam asked any what animal he would be and ant said a big dog, but not as much like a golden retriever more like a german shepherd. sam then asked what animal each of the manhunt boys is, and ant immediately said that sapnap was a peacock 😭 and sam immediately agreed😭 they had a hard time coming up with one for bad but they agreed maybe a ferret. chat said dream was a dog and sam said that he understands why chat would think that, and that dream is like a golden retriever in how hes scatterbrained, but he isnt sure about full dog. ant said that george is a parrot because of how he says the same thing over and over😭 sam laughed and said george is the king of "using the same bit over and over when it's completely dead"😭😭😭 and "he'll say a phrase he thinks is funny one time and if it gets a single laugh, congrats. it's over. that phrase is being used infinite now." sam says his mind goes to cat for ant obviously but he isn't sure if he actually gives cat.

this scene is so funny to me because this. dramatic ass mf. kept the note in dean’s room. on dean’s bed. even weeks after he’s gone. and he just. walks in there all maudlin to pick it up and read it and brood. then put it back down there and walk out. rinse and repeat. for 6 weeks.

Pretty criers. Pretty crier Sam. Dean likes watching him and gently drying his tears, maybe licking them. But to do that he needs Sam to cry. Would he hurt him? Maybe with words? Or would he make others hurt him. Manipulate him so that he would come cry in between Dean's arms every time something happened. Since they were kids probably. Sam never grew out of it, Dean never let him. Dean calling Sam 'his crybaby' while kissing him all over the face to comfort him.

Something about dean's reaction later szns to sam's death being robotic almost lifeless acceptance coined with backbreaking grief suppressed in a looming determination to "come back for sam" both in red meat and exodus dean promises sam to come back for him and both times it's his unstated declaration he'll finish whatever is at hand and will go back to him, kill himself and die beside him. So dig two graves cuz when you die swear i'll be leaving by your side type of thing
