Wang Yunkai's message on Weibo (translated by xiaoqiaoo_)
Today, I’d like to share with everyone how the rookie actor Wang Yunkai and Jin Xiaobao came to meet each other.
My thoughts are scattered, and my writing skills aren’t perfect, so please forgive any awkward phrasing in what I’m about to write.
On September 14, 2022, I began a new life in Beijing, full of uncertainty. After drifting around aimlessly like a headless fly for several days, I soon realized that pursuing a career as an actor was as difficult as reaching the heavens.
Without formal acting training and with limited personal qualifications, almost all of my auditions ended in rejection. To make ends meet, I took a job as an art examination teacher. After passing the interview, a sudden thought struck me: “Would I never become an actor? Would I be moving further and further away from my ultimate dream?”
While I was caught in this dilemma, a friend suggested I start out as a commercial actor. So, I spent thirty yuan to join five casting announcement groups and nervously embarked on my journey as a “commercial actor,” starting as an extra and stand-in and eventually moving on to short dramas, tvc advertisements, and MV roles. By June 2023, I landed my first lead role in a commercial—the one for Beijing Music Industrial Park that everyone has seen. During this time, I continued auditioning for film and TV roles, but each attempt would always end in failure.
What I didn’t expect was that this commercial would become a turning point for me. On July 15, 2023, a producer reached out through a friend after seeing the commercial, thinking I was very suitable for the role of Xiaobao. My first video interview was scheduled for the afternoon of July 17. Despite the screen separating us, I was extremely nervous, with many thoughts racing through my mind, the main two being: “This has to be a scam, right?” and “Even if it’s real, I’m still going to fail.”
Knowing that the producer felt I was right for the role because of my dimples, I didn’t dare relax for a second. I kept my face slightly angled and forced my dimples to show throughout the entire interview. After the call ended, half of my face was stiff.
After a week full of anxiety, I received an invitation for an in-person audition. I couldn’t contain my joy after hearing the news, but that joy would soon be replaced by greater fear and self-doubt.
Can I really do this? Do I have the luck? Am I capable enough?
Due to my lack of experience and with no examples to follow, I just read the original work several times and prepared as best as I could. But when the day finally came, I truly understood what “easier said than done” meant!
The scale of the audition was far greater than I had imagined, and the impressive competitors also made me feel intimidated.
Honestly, I can’t recall the specific details of the audition because all my emotions were condensed into a single word: nervous. Oh, and there was also one mission etched in my mind: to keep emphasizing my dimples.
After the audition, I figured I probably didn’t stand a chance and began consoling myself as usual: “It’s okay, failure is also a kind of experience.” But to my surprise, the next day, I received notice from the producer that I was selected for the second round of fittings a month later!
To prepare, I started working out and lost 7.5 kg in a month. But after a month had passed, it seemed as if the fitting notice had disappeared into thin air. Just as I was about to give up, I was informed that the second round of fittings would be rescheduled, and the third round of auditions would be held directly in October.
After the third round, I made it to the final three. I understood very well that this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so to be responsible for both the project and myself, I enrolled in a month-long acting training course.
Finally, in late November, I was notified that I would be joining the cast for training on December 8th. Even after joining, I was still worried that I might be replaced at any moment. It wasn’t until the producer arranged more than 20 days of acting, martial arts, etiquette, and fitness classes that I truly began experiencing life on set. Only then did my heart finally settle.
I want to thank the two producers for their appreciation and support, the director for patiently guiding me, the acting coach and screenwriter for helping this newbie better understand the script and character, Li Le for taking care of me on set, Li Junliang and Song Jiaxi for tirelessly answering my questions about acting. I’m also glad I got to spend this time with my old friend Kou Weilong and new friend Li Yimu. And a big thank you to the friend who connected me with the two producers.
Lastly, I want to say that I’m so happy to have met everyone in the height of summer 2024. Thanks to Meet You at the Blossom, I was able to encounter all of you. Although I still have a lot to improve on, I will work hard and wholeheartedly cherish every beautiful moment. I hope we can all be our most wonderful selves where the flowers are in full bloom! Just be happy~ ❤️
Goodbye, Jin Xiaobao 👋
Hello, actor Wang Yunkai ✌️
* the line “just be happy” is a play on words, he uses the “kai“ part of his name because it sounds like the kai in kaixin (happy)
#meet you at the blossom#wang yunkai#lekai#myatbsource#mine#tw weight loss#tw weight mention#not him forcing dimples the whole interview god i need to hug that sweetheart#and he turned out to be one of the best actors in this show!!!!!!

hello! it’s 10 in the morning, and I had been up for hours watching a sketchy video, downloading some anki decks, and answering immunology anki decks. now, you might be wondering why I am studying, if I have any exams due soon. no exams as of the moment. the real studying starts on the week of clerkship, but for now I’m just doing light studying. doing active recall to simulate my brain.
I had a double shot espresso with milk and a toasted bread with melted lurpak butter for breakfast, journaled a bit, and now it’s time to do some cleaning I scheduled for today!
THE big to-do list for saturday
start pharma anki
put basic audit schedule on notion
watch sketchy pharm
watch 2 dirty medicine and ninja nerd videos (physiology preferably)
put batteries on thermometer and pulse oximeter
change bedsheet
clean walls
laundry: curtains
laundry: berry things
sort out files on desk
clean electric fans
workout
ps. I’m trying to fix my body clock since I had been waking up at 10am and sleeping at 3am for the first half of June, and this morning even though I only had 4 hrs of sleep, I woke up at 7am and couldn’t go back to sleep so I started my day early. will probably just nap later. I feel tired, but it’s okay! I’ll get there. I plan on being the morning person I am this clerkship again

Why is PreGame Shuichi always seen as a yanderé when he's just an antisocial DanganRonpa fan?
Excellent question!
This has roots back into the japanese fandom so its hard to fully research actually, however we know kagehara comes from the japanese fandom through a compound kage, and hara, aka shadow saihara, kagehara 影原. This is likely chosen due to persona's use of shadow selves if i had to take a guess, which might also be why kagehara tends to have a much harsher yellow eye color like the one seen below on Shadow Yosuke, before this became so main stream there was also inchara 陰キャ原 for in character + saihara but this has never seen any popularity in the english fandom to my knowledge. There's also these names for the rest of the characters but only bonkichi really saw any traction in the english fandom
So now they we know the basis of the name, where does the yandere come in?
The first fanfiction i can find on ao3 that seems to lean into this view of pregame Shuichi of him being a dangerous creepy guy is This Must Be What Fun Is from 2017, while it lacks some of the more common later tropes and even has shuichi marked as aromantic, the obsessive and bloody traits commonly associated with it is definitely all there.
The first fic in the tag "pregame-shuichi" is audition from february 2017, however they used the tag ORIGINAL saihara which got tag wrangled in, and the first REAL use of the tag is from Can't Help Falling from December 2017
After that the first use of Kagehara in a fanfic description is At Least It's Something from July 2018 which is a selfcest fic with some WILD plot points actually i might need to look at that one later just out of morbid curiosity
From this, we can know the trope has its roots from the very start of the games release. Where the character of pregame shuichi in the audition tapes easily slid into an otaku characterization due to his obsession with danganronpa.
Thus, its easy to see where his creepy pervert personality come from, otaku stereotypes. You'll see this stigma in a lot of anime where characters try to hide being an otaku and such. This is why Kagehara often is soon as very reclusive, spending all his time and money on one thing, danganronpa, and not caring for anything outside this thing. To the point of antisocial behavior or becoming a threat to others. Immature, obsessive, and sexual deviancy. Classic stereotypical otaku characterization.
One of the stereotypes is usually being a creep towards an object of affection, and thus as the most popular ship, kokichi easily slotted into that stereotypical role of the object of affection. He's small, easily made a bit more feminized, and thus able to be the soft kawaii to be harassed.
Which as this becomes popular, likely for the same reasons any "zomg the main character is EVIIIIL actually" kinda thing gets popular, led to more people playing in the space and pushing it further and further until we get to where we are today!
Though, just between you and me, i have my own personal theory. I can't back it up with anything but it makes sense to me.
The audience comments in v3 are unhinged at times, with comments like "I wanna see the color of Shuichi’s blood" and "I want to break Shuichi’s fingers <3" the audience although only here for a short time has a very strong characterization and interesting dialogue. However, how do you portray this in a story? You really can't without someone to act as the proxy.
With the most fanboyish audition video, and the popularity to back it up, Shuichi ended up being this proxy. Kagehara isn't actually a reflection or evil version of shuichi or anything, it's the proxy to hold the audience in a way thats easy to write, and without the risks of say, writing an oc.
All of the fucked up things we hear about the audience and outside world, all the bad things, the talk of how boring everything but danganronpa is, these elements need a surrogate to embody it or else it can be hard to write with them. That's what kagehara is, the audience and what tsumugi tells about the outside word in a convenient familiar character shaped proxy Kokichi just got nabbed along for the ride as the most popular ship

hi everyone ! i'm sigh and it's been a long time since i've rped on tumblr but i'm hoping it hasn't changed too much sdlkf please find more info abt willow and myself below!
—— welcome to infinite entertainment! it's WILLOW WOO, who is the MAIN DANCER of BRAVEHEART. i’ve heard whispers that the 25 year old is pretty ZEALOUS but lowkey IMPULSIVE. also, doesn’t she remind you of GAHYEON?
she was born in anaheim, ca
when she was sixteen, a very embarrassing video of her at disneyland went viral of her singing and dancing along with the paint the night parade, this caused vibe productions to reach out to her and ask her to audition as they had a temporary office in los angeles
she passed her audition due to twisted luck, her father was a tiger dad and kind of delusional. he had her join acting, singing and dancing classes at a young age on the chance she would get scouted by a talent agency due to her looks. at first she thought it was annoying and unnecessary but soon realized sometimes you have to be delulu!
she became a trainee at vibe productions and bid her parents farewell as she moved to south korea on her own. her main focus was korean classes since she was at a beginner level and spoke with an american accent — the one thing her dad didn't consider was the talent agency being from his homeland
trained for less then a year before she was added to the braveheart lineup (possible plot for someone who she took the braveheart spot from or maybe a member wanted someone they trained a long time with to join them instead!) as their main dancer and lead vocalist
when braveheart started out she got some flack for not being exceptionally fluent in korean, the meaner netizens didn't bother learning her name and would just refer to her as gyopo in the comments
luckily this didn't bother her much and she often asked her groupmates for help
known for her duality on and off stage, often breaking into a smile at the middle of her ending fairy poses. she would often go viral with valentines seeing how many seconds she can last before breaking
on god she'll do every dance challenge asked
she never poses normally for her photocards, she'll always have something in her hand or a cute filter on her face
known for being chronically online and referencing popular tweets valentines make about the group
she actually has a fan account where she posts hd photos of her popular photocards cause she feels bad that some of them go for so much, however in her bio she says she's just really good at photoshop
for fun she sometimes she joins chat rooms for braveheart and talks bad about herself or acts like an akgae for one of her members
loves chatting with valentines and will always go live to talk with them, she'll even play online games with some of them when her schedule allows
however, lately she doesn't have as much time to talk with valentines due to their latest comeback and she's been signed to a blockbuster
speaking of, her solo projects so far have been:
1 film (side character)
3 tv series (2 minor roles, 1 major role)
solo album [ME]
untitled blockbuster
this is all i have so far, i'll have an official page set up eventually and will def be adding more as i plot with people!
please like this post if you'd like to plot and i'll hyu! i also have discord if you'd rather message there!
about sigh:
i'm 21+ and currently in mst but i live pst!
this is my first idol rp so i'll be taking inspo from a lot of your pages and such i hope that's ok!
i see the beautiful, long paras y'all are having and i have to be honest, i'm a short para girlie but i'll try my best to match lengths!

Welcome to newsie’s big king rant!! *cracks knuckles* i apologise for spelling mistakes or grammar innacuracies
i’ll start with AKB but i’ll do it in three parts ranging how much knowledge i have on the subject
andrew keenan bolger was born on the 16th may 1985 in detroit. he has 2 older sisters, maggie and celia ( who won a tony award for “to kill a mockingbird”!) he’s married to scott bixby since 2018 and their relationship is so nice and wholesome it’s so cute.
HES 5’4. IM 5’5. it’s so funny to think he’s shorter than me but whatever 😭😭
his first broadway role was in the OBC of seussical as alternate Jojo in 2000-2001 of which he did ONE broadway show then got kicked coz he hit puberty LMFAO poor 15 year old andrew
he then went on to be robertson ay in mary poppins THEN went in a woekshop for newsies and papermill and broadway( fun fact i think he’s the only actor who stayed in the same role for the workshop, papermill then obc of newsies )
during newsies he got a lot of fans which honestly yeah real but in march 2013 he left newsies to begin rehersing for tuck everlasting which didn’t make it until 2016 bc there wasn’t a suitable theatre for a transfer to broadway yet ( another fun fact if it had stayed in the realm of 2013 sadie sink would have played winnie instead of sarah charles lewis )
then in 2017 he was in kris kringle the musical playing kris kringle and in 2021 he was in seven deadly sins the off broadway musical playing phillipe
in september ( not sure if going ahead due to sag aftra ) he’s gonna star in “dracula a comedy of terrors” which seems very fun!! he posted a rlly funny photo of him wearing vampire teeth
ok other things than theatre he’s done i’m so sorry gang
so in 1997 he was chip’s singing voice in that lovely enchanted christmas beauty and the beast spinoff which i watched ALL OF IT just to find he’s in ONE FUCKING SONG and he’s only in the credits ONCE

he was in this show called looking in 2014 don’t watch it if ur under 18 i’m fucking traumatised from it don’t curse yourself with that PLEASE GOD DONT SEARCH ANDREW KEENAN ON GIFS EITHER
he had like a miniseries called ‘submissions only’ which also performed at 54 below
he has a podcast called ‘that sounds right’ which is SO FUCKING FUNNY PLEASE GO LISTEN TO IT I LOVE IT SO MUCH
OH SHIT YEAH HE WAS ALSO IN ( these are all like regional theatre ?? )
high school musical as ryan
perez hilton saves the universe…😬 as a shit ton of different ppl
LITTLE SHOP AS SEYMOUR!!!!!
a really funny parody video called ‘sherlock the musical” it’s so funny bc my irl friend robin thinks he looks like martin freeman
OTHER THINGS I JUST LIKE ABOUT HIM
he’s not afraid to post whatever on his socials 💀 like i’ll be scrolling and that one pic of him licking the screen is there and i’m like 😀 ok andrew
hes really funny
hes honest and open about not being the best dancer which is so real ( so he showed up to newsies to audition and , in his own words , apparently the directors thought he was a good enough dancer to play a boy with a crutch BAHHAHA WHICH IS SO RELATABLE OH MY HOD )
i think that’s it!! please enjoy i’m soo tired i’ll do some more ranting soon :3
thank you for all the knowledge! fun fact: I saw Celia perform in TKAM (very good) and my grandma used to baby sit Jeff Daniels' (Atticus) cousin because they grew up in the same town
also the note about his lack of dancing skills reminded me of his old youtube videos and one video he was talking about an audition he botched (there was basketball choreo he was supposed to learn) and instead, because he didn't know what to do, he just put the basketball in his shirt and pretended to be pregnant??? hey directors like a strong acting choice and he delivered.

𓏲 * ( darren barnet, cis man, he & his ) ⸺ pictures of JAIME BLUE ‘JB’ LINCOLN, the thirty-one year old musician, has been showing up all over my feed, and considering the last time they were #trending, it was due to the rumours of his former boy band reuniting - i’m not likely to unfollow anytime soon. with their levi’s sherpa-lined demin jacket, grey plaid flannel shirt, black comme des garcons homme tailored trousers, and a pair of scuffed off-white sneakers, they’ve managed to garner a reputation for being more mature than stubborn. their critics say they’re more unstable than conscientious when they aren’t too busy focusing on his overflowing and coffee-stained song-writing book ; late-night shows in seedy underground bars ; and a calm morning spent in the middle of nowhere. reputation.com has taken to calling them THE LEADER in order to avoid a lawsuit ( again ).
basic information
FULL NAME: jaime blue lincoln NICKNAME: JB AGE & DATE OF BIRTH: thirty-one & december 24th (sagittarius) GENDER & PRONOUNS: cis-man & he/his BIRTHPLACE: maryland, usa OCCUPATION: singer-songwriter FACECLAIM: darren barnet CHARACTER PARALLELS: michael bluth (arrested development), frankie bergstein (grace and frankie), mother's milk (the boys), chase dreams (the other two), natalie (yellowjackets)
biography

PART ONE.
some people were always meant to be famous. there are countless home videos of a young jaime blue lincoln singing and dancing along to the "beat it" that proved just as much. what began as living room performances and talent show stages quickly turned into appearances on maryland's daytime talk shows. jb was a local celebrity before even hitting the fourth grade—not that he ever really went to school. what's the use of learning cursive when you've already perfected the art of signing your autograph for adoring fans?
a wedding performance of a stevie wonder song here and a rendition of the national anthem there soon caught the attention of agents eager to sign jb onto their label. while his mother was skeptical of letting her son join the music industry, years spent on vocal lessons and dance rehearsals made it clear that their family was in no position to turn down a contract. at 14, jb became the breadwinner for his family of five as an up-and-coming popstar
that was, until, his debut album came and went without so much as a blip on the radar. his once-promising career was met with a lukewarm reception and was quickly swept under the rug for bigger and better things. his rising star faded away into obscurity, barely making its way past state lines
so, life went back to normal for jb—whatever that looked like. while he still did the occasional gig, he ignored the voice in the back of his head goading him into trying one more time. no, he'd shoved the thought of it away alongside the unsold copies of his album
as the years went by, jb having prepared for college at that point, it was a surprise to everyone when he heard from his old manager. that he was putting a group together and jb was on the shortlist. he didn't think it would amount to anything, but could a few auditions really hurt? the voice, the one he spent so much time ignoring, was deafening now. a few months later, jb traded in his college dorm for an apartment paid for on management's dime
PART TWO.
things moved quickly after that. their debut appearance on the today show, unpolished as it was, garnered a following for the band. this support helped skyrocket their lead single “what makes you beautiful” to the top of the charts. truth be told, overnight success was an understatement. they landed a record deal, a debut studio album, and an ellen show performance all within the span of a few months. jb, barely an adult, found himself headlining a national tour—finally living out the fantasy he’d imagined as a kid
the album cycle was endless. they’d step foot out of their tour bus just to end up at yet another recording session or award show. as much as it excited jb, he couldn’t wait until he got to sleep in a bed that actually belonged to him. but when the dust finally settled, going back to his hometown felt more foreign to him than being on the road. the call came for the boys to return to california and jb couldn’t get out of maryland fast enough
“treasure” hit number one globally and their second studio album came out just shy of a year from their first. the pressure was mounting from all sides and jb found himself putting out fires both in and outside of the group. spending hours cooped up in a tour bus with four random strangers would do that to a guy. he put it upon himself to look out for the other boys, stubborn as he was, and made sure to lend a shoulder to lean on when times got tough. jb might not have known it then, but he did his best to keep the group in one piece
and so it went. a third record-breaking album and international tour was nothing if not expected. could anyone really blame them for their egos when they had the numbers to back it up? could anyone blame him for the partying when he’d spent the rest of the time working his ass off? looking after the band despite the mounting tension that had started to get to him. jb didn’t know when the drugs and drinking got to be a problem—only that he had to do a damn good job of keeping it under wraps
for the first time in his life, jb had an honest-to-god writing credit to his name with their fourth album. tired of the bubblegum pop and r&b, the group’s musical direction had been toned down. as proud as he was for his involvement in the music, jb barely remembered those moments. his addiction had taken a toll and was only made worse by the overwhelming pressure for the group to somehow surpass the achievements they had broken. the voice in the back of his head that had always told him to go after more was now louder than ever
“you’re out of the band”—the words jb never thought he would hear. his manager had brought the boys into a meeting to let them know that jb would be leaving, that his problems with drugs and alcohol would only bring the rest of them down. he should have seen it coming in hindsight, but the news hit him like a runaway train. jb was gutted. just as they were getting ready to announce his departure, THE BAD BOY had gone ahead and stated that he would be leaving the group in the middle of their fourth tour. with the constant infighting and burnout over the years, no one put it against him
of course that meant jb wasn’t going anywhere. they continued the tour as a four-piece set and released their fifth and final album after having edited their former member out. devastating millions of teenagers around the world, the band announced a hiatus when their tour ended. jb took the break-up as if he had caused it himself—who’s to say he didn’t? his addiction got the better of him. finally free for once in his life, he wanted nothing more than someone to tell him what to do
PART THREE.
sobering up was a near-impossible feat. every milestone he reached was reported on by the tabloids and every visit he made to his counselor was tweeted out as if it were breaking news. he never was the most famous member of the band, but they followed him as if his life was on display
while everyone else began working on their solo careers, jb moved out to tennessee to focus on his sobriety. there, he jumped headfirst into songwriting as a distraction. it allowed him to figure out what kind of music he wanted to make now that he was out of the spotlight
he quietly released two albums since the break-up, mostly about his struggles with addiction and fame. the seedy bars and venues he plays now are ant hills compared to the arenas he toured, but he loves his following nonetheless
jb heard the rumours circulating about the reunion and found himself at a crossroads. though he’s sober and holds no ill will towards the other members, there’s still the risk of falling into old habits and ruining the quiet life he nurtured for himself. the stress alone might just kill him this time around. but, funds are running low—funding your own musical ventures and taking care of your family doesn’t come cheap. that voice? the one in the back of his head? it’s been a long time since he’s listened to it, but he’d be lying if he said that he shut it up for good

༺ 𝚘𝚗 𝚖𝚢 𝚠𝚊𝚢 𝚋𝚢 𝚍𝚘𝚔𝟸 (𝚏𝚎𝚊𝚝. 𝚣𝚒𝚘𝚗.𝚝) [ 0:00 - 0:52 ]
how did kaito get to where he's at right now? well, it was mostly just him throwing himself into all of this the moment that he had heard about the new season of next gen. did he know what the show was? not really, he wasn't one who usually kept up with audition shows ( especially since most of the time he was busy with working ), though when a friend sent him the information about the audition show, kaito decided to give it a shot.
what was the worst that could happen? if he failed, well it wouldn't be the first time and most likely wouldn't be the last either.
––– ❛ the performance 【 lime entertainment 】
after watching the video that the judges recorded for them kaito is already running through the long list of songs in his head to perform, of course mostly rap songs due to him not having the vocal skills to even give the judges anything close to what they'd be expecting of them.
he could have also danced, though with just 60 seconds given to them it would be impossible for him to really show what he'd want to, so rapping was the best bet for him in the end. thus, as he enters the room with the others he sits by and waits to be called on, keeping a close eye on those in the group to more or less analyze the 'competition' he's up against.
only when he's called does he avert his attention to the judges as he gets up and makes his way over to the center. he takes a moment to introduce himself properly, telling them his name, age, where he's from, and even his current occupation, or rather occupations, though he doesn't go into too much detail because he knows this is an audition show and not the time to be telling his whole life story right now.
soon after he's starting with a smooth rap, his body even naturally moving along slightly while his head bobs to the rhythm. kaito makes sure to keep his attention on the judges, making eye contact with each of them as he does so since he knows it's rude to not maintain eye contact with those watching. it's something that he's learned over the past few years while dancing, that maintaining eye contact with the audience was like some sort of respect towards them and shows them that you're actually doing it for them to enjoy as well. at least that's how kaito thought of it anyway.
he manages to finish smoothly, taking a short moment to sort out his own thoughts before the rapid questions begin.
––– ❛ rapid q&a 【 sr media 】
“Why do you want to become a kpop idol?”
the question doesn't surprise him at all, especially with this being an audition show. in fact, he would have actually been more surprised if this type of question didn't come up at some point and thankfully he doesn't need to think about his answer. "i have a few reasons actually, though the main reason would be that i want to do music while sharing what i'm doing with the world. i have a strong passion for rapping and dancing, so i'd love to share my own passions with more people while performing on stage someday."
“What would you do if you won ₩1,000,000,000 (~$750,000) in the lotto?”
"that's easy. i would send it to my parents back in japan so that they could take some time off, maybe even not have to work for a while, and just let them spend their days not having to struggle." of course that's one of the other reasons why kaito was determined to debut someday. to make money ( like he is now with his part-time jobs ) and help support his parents and younger sibling, all while doing something that he enjoys in the process.
“What’s your favorite useless fact?”
"my favorite useless fact, or at least one of them, is that there is no word in the English language that rhymes with the word 'month'." even though his english wasn't entirely the best out there, this was something that an old penpal he had a few years ago had sent him. ever since then it had been a fact he sometimes thought about when he was bored and tried looking up english words that may actually be at least close to the word, however, till this day he still hasn't found one that rhymes.
“What was the first thing you thought about when you woke up this morning?”
he smiles a little at this, thinking about what he first thought of when he woke up. "my first thought was about what i wanted to eat for breakfast. actually that's the first thing i think of every day, especially since i'm a bit of a 'foodie'." a small chuckle comes from him, not because he's embarrassed about this fact, but because he hadn't really realized this until just now. with constantly working to make money, it seems as if he's always hungry after using a lot of his energy towards his work.
––– ❛ unique skill 【 studio delta 】
finally it's time for his 'unique skill', though out of everything he could possibly think of that he can actually do, kaito decides to show off how he can beatbox. it was something that he just happened to discover one day back in japan while hanging out with his dance friends, the group just chilling at the time and goofing off while taking a short break.
"i actually have a few things that i'm capable of showing everyone, but i'd like to show off my beatboxing skills today. i'm not exactly a pro but i'd like to think that i'm at least decent at this enough to not be embarrassed by showing all of you."
kaito takes only a short moment before he begins, showing a small part of what he can really do ( well besides rapping and dancing that is ). thankfully this was something he continued to work on over the past few years, even going as far as to watch youtube videos at times to try and do better. even though it's not something that can really show off his artistic talents, it's something that not too many people in the world can really do, so he's actually proud of himself for being one of those few out there that can manage pulling off the whole beatbox skill.
he doesn't do too much, just showing off enough for the judges to be satisfied before he stops. the only thing that kaito can do now is just wait and see what the results are in the end. again, it's not like he'd be entirely disappointed if they told him he failed, after having done so many auditions now it was something he had learned to not do.
don't get your hopes up because it'll only disappoint you in the end even more when you fail.
#be:ngs2p1#| no idea why this is so long but powered through and finished#ngl i'm not too happy with how i did this but running out of time ;; |

So in case graduations happen again soon, I looked up PLs on the niji sub which has gone basically rogue and is actively discussing PL. I followed RZ's PL, which I was like. Holy hell, 1 million subs. All the comments joking about RZ being his side hustle or a side quest and RZ was a big animation storytime youtube joke make sense now. Brooooo what are you doing in niji.
EA's PL was surprising. I didn't follow her previously, but I was more active in the vocaloid fandom and the vocaloid song English fan dub circles when I was younger. I watched some of EA/Shannon's videos and in hee comments are other singers I know and follow like JubyPhonic and rachie! From like 5 years ago! Crazy. I want to try to rewatch some old YouTube utaite chorus collab projects and see if I spot Shannon. It's so weird to think they I may have seen her years ago become she became a vtuber/ EA and didn't even realize.
For FO, I actually know and still follow his personal danmei reviewing twitter which he has since privated and his still public old vtuber PL. my friend who is more into danmei and manhua that me actually recommended his older twt and youtube channel to me. Then like 2 months later he privated his stuff and left and then FO debuted lol. My friend who knew him longer immediately recognized his voice in his debuted stream lol.
Edit 2/13 - that public explanation steam on EP's yt....oof. wtf. That only made things worse guys. These are the worst lawyers with the worst advice I swear wtf is even going on anymore....??
I think im following PG's past life acc on twitter and I don't even know why. I'm not subscribed to her old YouTube account where she did utaite type music. I'm just baffled. I just say that her old twitter is locked but I'm somehow following her and I can't even remember why. Lol.
Anyways saw some funny posts on a certain fruit farm website about SB falling his death a second time to get out of this situation. And I'm just like. A second time???
Turns out he is/was a legendary tf2 player Pyro main. It sounds like he had a video game addiction or something that was really ruining his life and/or he got burnout playing tf2. So he decided to fake his death so he could return to school or something. Like. OK, congrats on the therapy and college completion or whatever, but like you couldn't just have a normal hiatus post????? he like vaguely mentioned in his final stream that he had a terminal illness and then just stopped streaming for 5 years, so everyone thought he died. Like, on one hand, I and many other commentators seem to think it's a bit funny and totally ridiculous. I guess that only learning that this is a hoax years after and also not being tf2 fans/his fans helps make this like a weird prank to outsiders. On the other hand, faking a terminal illness and your death is really stupid and insensitive to people who actually have those issues. Plus to his old fans who knew him for many years who respected and trusted him, that's gotta hurt bad. Like. Bro what. SB unprivated his old YouTube videos though, I'm curious to see the highlight reel of supposedly the world's best tf2 player, even tho as a person who doesn't play fps or moba or tf2, I don't really understand how much skill it takes to do his playstyle, so I might not appreciate it as much as it is.
Anyways kusosanji has shit pr and lawyer team, but their talent scouts/audition people knew how to pick them very well. Like one of the top apex players and tf2 players, multiple musicians and comedians, etc. All these extremely talented peoples' past present and future careers being totally ruined by a company that doesn't care about them and their wellbeing at all. Even if they tried to leave via terminations (shout out to SY liking a company critical comment and then outting "returning soon" message on her pl youtube) and return to their past life, people have lost trust in them due to kusosanji (or due to already existing past life drama like above with SB). If they tried to make a new indie vtuber account they would be starting from 0 and even then if people match up their voices or life story details from some off hand comment during a zatsu, it'll be over for them again, back to 0 and having to reincarnate. Just a waste of potential, it's sad for all livers involved. Incredibly cowardly to have the public facing employees who have the mpst to lose take the worst of the harassment while the neglectful and abusive managers and rich ceo and investors can stay safe and anonymous and in a totally different country. I hope no poor indie vtuber decides to audition for any new en waves, which I doubt they'll even do anymore going forward. Being forced into a black company sounds awful. Comments online theorize that at this point, the investors and so management are seeing this workplace culture clash and deciding to deliberately sabotage the remaining EN branch so they have an excuse to merge it to the main branch and gradually dissolve/graduate/fire everyone like for the OG EN (india) KR and ID.
Edit edit: yeah.....even if the whole rrat / great unifying rat king theory from 4chan is true, that still really only means that like 5 people of a clique are bullies, plus mayyybeee AA?? But like really, other than those 6 people, like there's still the 25 other people (who as far as we know) are not bullies or even involved in this, that really were just trying to grow their career and make friends in a new place. They couldn't have known about the massive apocashitstorm pr disaster that was coming up. I feel so bad for the new kids Krisis and TTT too...like.. holy crap they JUST got there....
*insert meme that Vivi is the unluckiest new member*
Just because the management is bad and maybe 6 people are guilty of bullying, all 25 other innocent incredibly talented people are being dragged into this. It's just awful.... :(
I want so support them, they're unlucky innocent bystanders in this I think, but not as they are right now. Still not exactly normal vtuber etiquette, but this whole situation is totally abnormal, but I'll just find their pl youtube or twitch accounts and follow them there, patiently awaiting if/when they return to those accounts. People on reddit are all saying like "I hope my oshi graduates/gets fired" and that might literally be a better ending for them right now. So weird.....
Edit edit edit: oof yeah. Again, as an outsider to SB's pl and the tf2 moba fps genre community, plus 7 years have passed, I have some forgiveness towards him for the fake death thing that i can understand his older OG fans may not have. Still, it sounds like he talked about his past in a zatsu. He legit had a video game addiction and ended up homeless and jobless. I can understand toa degree why he had to make his hiatus/break from tf2 and video games in general so final so that he would not be tempted to play it again. Still, just an extreme decision to fake an illness and death instead of just admitting you want to go to college and not be living in japanese net cafes and the streets.

A night at the orchestra, with Pokémon on the program

A night at the orchestra, with Pokémon on the program
Around 50 musicians crowd the well-lit Kresge Auditorium stage. They wear formal black attire and concentrated facial expressions. As the conductor carefully raises her baton, the audience comes to a perfect silence. A single piano lets forth a delicate cascade of high-pitched notes and is soon joined by a dozen violins that burst into a catchy, fast-paced melody. Many audience members look at their friends and smile. They recognize the tune.
The 90-minute performance goes on to incorporate saxophones, cellos, percussion instruments, a French horn, and a variety of other instruments. But with due respect to Beethoven and Bach, their work did not make the program on this night. Instead, the orchestra offered emotionally stirring renditions of songs from video games like “Mario Kart”, “Plants vs. Zombies,” and “Pokémon.”
Play video
This is the MIT Video Game Orchestra, a student-led group dedicated to performing original arrangements of video game music, film soundtracks, and other kinds of music not usually heard in concert halls. The group performs at least two concerts a year, and all arrangements are written by members of the orchestra and tailored to the group.
In addition to the performances, the group also runs workshops to help members develop their skills, provides soundtracks and introductions for events, and hosts socials featuring film screenings and video games.
“I think it’s really cool that there are so many genres that fall under the umbrella term of video game music,” says junior Lynn Jung, who serves a co-music director of the group. “It allows you to explore different musical avenues.”
Many members of the group grew up learning classical instruments and playing classical music. The Video Game Orchestra gives them the opportunity to break that mold and play music more in line with their interests.
“I was definitely into video game music growing up,” says Alex Wardle, a junior who is in charge of managing the group’s library of music. “I listened to it a lot in high school and I really wanted to perform it, but I didn’t have the opportunity. None of the music groups that I joined would cover modern soundtracks. I always wished there was an opportunity for me to get to play some of the pieces I really love.”
The group’s organizers are quick to point out that a love for video games is not a requirement for joining. Some students join because they want to continue playing their instruments in a more casual environment. But many came to the Video Game Orchestra to merge two longtime hobbies.
“I was more into playing video games than listening to them, but at the audition, I remember saying, ‘I like video games and I like music, so I will definitely like video game music,’” Jung recalls.
Beyond the tunes, there are several key differences between the group and a traditional orchestra, the largest being the open approach to preparing the arrangements.
“It’s a more collaborative environment, where it’s less the conductors choosing the music we play and more of a community effort based on the pieces we like as a community,” Wardle says. “Through our feedback process with arrangements, it becomes this group effort in which everyone’s working together.”
A key part of that process is inviting students to try their hand at writing music through workshops each semester.
“I had a little background in writing music. I loved listening to videogame music and I’d played for quite a while, but I definitely hadn’t done anything like an orchestral arrangement,” Wardle says. “By playing student-made arrangements my first year, I realized I could do something like that. There were people I could reach out to, like other students, who had done it in the past, so I jumped straight in and have been pushing out arrangements ever since.”
Many members joined because they loved making music and video games, but they say they’ve stayed because of the community.
“A big reason I’ve stayed in VGO is the community and the people,” says Ishika Shah, a senior who serves as the group’s co-music director. “It’s been a great way to meet new people and join a community I’ve really enjoyed being a part of.”
The group’s organizers encourage participants to mingle outside of their instrument section, and rehearsals are often interspersed with casual talk of music and video games. But the music and performances are still taken seriously.
Concerts have had as many as 200 attendees — with many more watching online (the group’s YouTube channel features most performances). Renditions of emotional pieces have sometimes moved people to tears, and because many people attend out of an interest in video games, the group attracts a broader audience to orchestral music than traditional symphony orchestras.
In addition to classically orchestrated headliners, the orchestra also plays pieces that feature more rock or jazz and that get people dancing and clapping along. In one performance of a karaoke favorite, “Baka Mitai” (or “I’ve Been a Fool” in Japanese), the orchestra invited the audience to sing along.
The orchestra’s decisions are guided by whatever sounds fun — and for the people that don’t put video game music in the same class as Beethoven, the group believes they’re adding credibility to a perhaps underrated genre.
“Honestly, I think at the end of the day what I care about when I am listening to music or playing music is just that the music resonates with me in some way, or that it’s fun to listen to or fun to play,” Jung says. “For some people, that might be classical music, but for me that happens to be a lot of video game music.”

It's honestly amazing how streamlined Resolve is. I can edit videos so quickly now. That Ash art progress video would have taken me 40 minutes in Vegas due to having to re-render the video to speed it up to 4 minutes. I sped it up in Resolve in seconds. I really want to edit the hotkeys to resemble Vegas though as that's what I'm used to, although I am adjusting rather quickly to Audition's hotkeys as well.
I'm gradually figuring out Resolve on my own without tutorials (because I'm insane). I'm very happy with it, especially for a program that's completely free. The real test of Resolve will come when I finally have a proper video project for it, which will be soon, I promise.

Brawling Objects Update (9/28/2023)
To anyone who isn't subscribed to me on YouTube, I made a community post update about my object show, Brawling Objects. If you can't find it, here's what it says:
"Sorry I haven't been updating on Brawling Objects or uploading animations that much. To be honest, school and mental health have been getting in the away recently.
Good news however, most of the locations (including the cafeteria here) are completed! Hopefully at this rate, I can finish them by October and get started on the intro (which I wish could be done by the end of this year). Other good news, Brawling Objects has gotten a co-creator, who would help envision the story with me!
Now if you're wondering about auditions: I will post them as a community post soon but an auditions video will be posted after the intro has been uploaded. The formatting of the auditions is kind of different. Due to a past incident, auditions will now be made using Google Forms. One will be for voice acting, the other will be for writing, animating, designing, etc.
That's what I got so far. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for what's to come!"
TL;DR - mental health, backgrounds (like cafe), intro probably start in October, co-creator/director (Vally) hired, and auditions update
Along with that, most of the pilot's script is complete! With BO's co-creator, Vally, we finished two scenes and plan to finish more tomorrow!
Sadly however, BO's intro is not likely going to start in October or release in December (considering my slow progress on finishing the backgrounds). For now, I'm extending the deadline to January-April 2024, to which hopefully gives me more time on the project.
That's all I have so far. Thank you for reading!

Walking home from school just before her 10th birthday, Tura Luna Pascual Yamaguchi (Tura Satana) was reportedly gang raped by five men. According to Tura, her attackers were never prosecuted, and it was rumored that the judge had been paid off. She reports that this prompted her to learn martial arts, such as aikido and karate. Over the next 15 years, Satana tracked down each rapist and exacted revenge. "I made a vow to myself that I would someday, somehow get even with all of them," she said years later. "They never knew who I was until I told them." Around this time, she formed a gang, "the Angeles," with Italian, Jewish, and Polish girls from her neighborhood. In an interview with Psychotronic Video, Satana said, "We had leather motorcycle jackets, jeans and boots...and we kicked butt." Because of frequent delinquency, she was sent to reform school. When she was 13, her parents arranged her marriage to 17-year-old John Satana in Hernando, Mississippi, which lasted nine months.
Satana moved to Los Angeles and by age 15, using fake identification to hide the fact she was a minor, began burlesque dancing. She was hired to perform at the Trocadero nightclub on the Sunset Strip, and became a photographic model for, among others, silent screen comic Harold Lloyd, whose photos of her appear in "Harold Lloyd's Hollywood Nudes in 3-D."
Satana returned to Chicago to live with her parents and started dancing at the Club Rendevouz in Calumet City, where she was known as Galatea, "the Statue that Came to Life." She was offered a raise to become a stripper.
"I started out as an interpretive dancer, but I was offered more money if I took my clothes off, so I did. I started dancing at the age of 13 years old. I became a professional dancer at the age of 15 years old. If the owners of the clubs I had worked in ever knew that I was only 15, I think that they would have had a heart attack."
After singer Elvis Presley saw Satana perform at Chicago's Follies Theater, the two began a romantic relationship that some reports say ended in a marriage proposal she declined (though she reportedly kept the ring). Satana eventually became a successful exotic dancer, traveling from city to city. She credited Lloyd with giving her the confidence to pursue a career in show business: "I saw myself as an ugly child. Mr. Lloyd said, 'You have such a symmetrical face. The camera loves your face...You should be seen.'"
Satana's acting debut role was a cameo as Suzette Wong, a Parisian prostitute in the film "Irma la Douce" (1963), which starred Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine. Her next role was as a dancer in "Who's Been Sleeping in My Bed?" (1963), which starred Dean Martin and Elizabeth Montgomery; Soon after, Satana appeared in the television shows "Burke's Law" and "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." Satana then starred as Varla in the 1965 Russ Meyer film "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!"—a very aggressive and sexual female character for which she did all of her own stunts and fight scenes. Renowned film critic Richard Corliss called her performance "the most honest, maybe the one honest portrayal in the Meyer canon and certainly the scariest." Originally titled "The Leather Girls", the film is an ode to female violence, based on a concept created by Meyer and screenwriter Jack Moran. Both felt at her first audition that Satana was "definitely Varla." The film was shot on location in the desert outside Los Angeles during days when the weather was more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit and freezing nights, with Satana clashing regularly with teenage co-star Susan Bernard due to Bernard's mother's reportedly disruptive behavior on the set. Meyer said Satana was "extremely capable. She knew how to handle herself. Don't f*ck with her! And if you have to f*ck her, do it well! She might turn on you!"
Satana was responsible for adding key elements to the visual style and energy of the production, including her costume, makeup, usage of martial arts, dialogue and the use of spinning tires in the death scene of the main male character. She came up with many of the film's best lines. At one point the gas station attendant was ogling her extraordinary cleavage while confessing to a desire to see America. Varla replied "You won't find it down there, Columbus!" Meyer cited Satana as the primary reason for the film's lasting fame. "She and I made the movie," said Meyer. Meyer reportedly later regretted not using Satana in subsequent productions.
"I took a lot of my anger that had been stored inside of me for many years and let it loose. I helped to create the character Varla and helped to make her someone that many women would love to be like."
Santana legally owned her likeness and image. So, whenever Russ Meyer wanted to change the artwork or rerelease "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!," he had to get her permission and sometimes pay her all over again. (Wikipedia/IMDb)

“32, 37 hand holding and 3, 26 kissing with rookie actor mark and experienced actor s/o on their first drama together?” yes sure!!! excuse me but i don’t watch that much k-dramas so i’m doing this purely from youtube videos LOL + if it mirrors any other k-drama or is similar then it’s purely coincidence!! just conjuring something up in my mind lol
hand-holding, 32 & 37: not really paying attention, both doing something else, but still holding hands / not realizing they’re holding hands till someone points it out
kisses, 3 & 26: smiling while kissing, giggling while kissing
“what’s that supposed to mean?” mark glances down at you in the field, saying his line that he’s practiced with you countless times. the poor boy was so worried about the outcome of it, having only acted as side or filler characters for the past year. although, with every gig he gets, you’re there to help him reach his fullest potential: practicing his lines with him, going through the different variations of how he could’ve executed it, accompanying him to sets.
even the staff couldn’t mask their shock when they see you walking together with a boy who was sweating his ass off, the familiar murmur of his few lines said under his breath as someone led you two to a common break room.
“don’t mind me,” you raise a hand, used to the starstruck faces that looked your way once the door opened. patting mark’s arm, you said something about supporting your boyfriend before settling beside him to work on hair and make-up. you conversed with him easily, briefly stopping at times to entertain autographs or pictures from the other side actors in the room.
it’s been like that since mark made his debut a year ago, taking up many gigs that you always supported. mark struck jackpot when he lucky to have someone to catch onto his talent, running an audition by him that got him the job (with a bit of persuasion on your side).
a job with you, where your embraces and kisses were not just reserved for the two of you in the comfort of your home, or where your affection was held back due to the intrusive cameras. this was an entirely new variation: of moments taken in private mixed with the recognisable traits of korean drama.
the touch of your skin is familiar to mark, but the words that come out of his mouth feel foreign instead. it’s not often that he spouts something so poetic written by the hand of skilled scriptwriters, but at least now he has more words to tell you when he can’t do it in his normal, unique way.
“exactly what i said. why do you need an explanation?” you giggle, hand wiggling out of the expensive coat that your stylist put on you for this scene.
you can tell mark’s arms are struggling to hold himself up, with a teasing glint in your eye that suggests you’re making fun of his strength. your laugh deepens when you realise he’s waiting for you to say your line, pleading with his eyes. he's not used to it yet.
you wait for dramatic effect. “after all, my love for you needs no explanation,” you swear you see mark release a sigh of relief, able to finally lower himself to you while he rests half of his body weight onto your person. his character’s kisses are soft, not much different from your own boyfriend’s as he deepens the kiss.
“remember how i wondered about how you taste like?” he pulls away to ask, the line referencing an interaction from one of the earlier episodes where his character said the same thing.
“what do i taste like, han jiwoo?” the foreign name rolls off your tongue easily now.
“hm… if i’m being honest, i forgot. i might have to kiss you again to find out,” mark delivers the line perfectly and doesn’t hesitate to lean again for another kiss. you’re sure he’s not acting now.
your mouths do a great job of hiding things, before his tongue swipes across your lips. there’s a squeeze from your hand when he does that, but you grant him access either way, melting into it with a cheeky smile that grows and a heart that feels full.
you can taste the incoming snort from mark but he manages to hold it in with a mere giggle. your kisses start and stop, struggling to get in even a bit of contact from how much you’re laughing. like always, you two hold your kisses to make sure there’s sufficient footage, but you have to admit that it was partially indulgent, too.
the scene was almost over, and when mark brings you to your feet you’re able to breath easier, both from your boyfriend’s weight on you and the released tension in having laid in wet grass for the past fifteen minutes.
his hand twines around yours, dragging you along the field as you run off into the distance, shoving and pulling playfully while the camera prepares to pan up. the last shot is of the two of you holding hands, swinging it like a pendulum before the green of the field disappears and the blue of the sky appear. soon, it fades to black.
“and that’s a wrap! thank you, everyone!” the director shouts. claps are heard and you’re dragging mark by then, stripping off the coat that’s overheating your body. it drapes over your elbow easily, responding to the other’s searching hand as you take it in yours. all the way to the dressing room you head seemed to permanently stay down, continuously bowing to directors, producers, staff members.
all you’re focused on is getting to your next schedule, promising to the cast that you’ll treat them to a meal soon as your shout resonates throughout the space. everyone cheers and you reply with a grin, slipping into the dressing room.
as you remove the hairdo with one hand, you ask randomly, “so? what do you think of han jiwoo?”
mark looks up from his phone, pulling a face while he thinks of an answer.
"well, for one, i'm jealous of him for kissing you." that elicits a laugh out of you, giving him a squeeze with your hand before he goes back to his social media with a smile, "but he's a cool kid. i'm glad i got the chance to portray h..."
a thud from the doorframe snaps you out of the moment.
"ah! s-sorry, mark-sunbaenim, (y/n)-sunbaenim," they bow immediately.
"i hope you don't mind b-but, i just came over to tell you how much i loved your chemistry on screen! it's such an honour to be on set with the both of you, especially you, mark-sunbaenim."
you grin as the other flushes at the compliment, but the side actor continues. you don't mind.
"i'm hoping to get a big role like you too, mark-sunbaenim! i've been watching your other shows, too. the way you give life to a character is always very refreshing," your boyfriend takes refuge in your connected hands.
"and i can't help but notice the love you have off-screen too! it's endearing, (y/n)-sunbaenim. i hope i'll have a love as strong as your hands are held right now!" mark barely manages a thank you as the actor excitedly bows again before making his leave.
once he's out of earshot, you giggle at the scrunched up expression, face warm from the comment about him to your interlocked hands and your relationship.
"that was unexpected," similarly, you packed your things again with a single hand when mark reluctantly stands up, overwhelmed.
"y'know, i didn't even know our hands were connected for that long until he said something." mark groans. you laugh.
"please stop talking, i might actually explode," your lover calmly says, letting you drag him out the back door with your hand in his.
with a small peck, your lips meet the back of his hand, "well before i do, i need to tell you that i vouch for every little thing that guy earlier mentioned. talent in every bone in your body, mark lee."
you flag down your manager's car too fast to see the smile on mark's face, but he's grateful for your heartfelt words as he thanks you with kisses and cuddles later in the night.

My 10 Year ‘Cleanliness Cause’ Theory
Okay hear me out, I’m not saying this is rock solid but I decided to do a little digging around in the history of some of the more well known boybands who have members who are now openly/publicly queer.
My findings, which I will show below, indicate that the majority of the artists I looked at came out as queer more than 10 years after they were signed to a label. There are notably two artists who haven’t stuck to the 10 years milestone, I will speak a bit about this below.
Okay here goes:
WHAM - Signed in 1981/1982 (Found two different dates)
GEORGE MICHAEL - Signed in 1987
CAME OUT - 1998
16/17 YEARS after Wham was Signed & 11 YEARS after he Signed Solo
RICKY MARTIN - Signed Solo in 1991
CAME OUT - 2010
19 YEARS after he Signed Solo
NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK - Signed in 1986
JONATHAN KNIGHT CAME OUT - 2010
24 YEARS after the Band was Signed
NSYNC - Signed in 1995
LANCE BASS CAME OUT - 2006
11 YEARS after the band was signed
BLUE - Signed in 2000
DUNCAN JAMES CAME OUT - Bisexual 2009 / Gay 2012
9 YEARS after signing with the band - Bisexual
12 YEARS after signing with the band - Gay
Before I move onto the next artist I have to note that this is one of the artists who fell outside of the 10 years milestone.
BOYZONE - Signed in 1994
STEPHEN GATELY CAME OUT - 1999
3 YEARS after the band was signed
Unfortunately Stephen Gately was forced to come out of the closet sooner than he would have liked due to an acquaintance threatening to sell his story.
WESTLIFE - Signed in 1998
MARK FEEHILY CAME OUT - 2005
7 YEARS after signing with the band
As you can see Mark Feehily is another artist who falls outside of the 10 years milestone. I have a theory for this which is based on just my thoughts alone, no proof. Notably, Boyzone and Westlife were both created by Louis Walsh. I do believe that Stephen Gately would have been closeted for 10 or more years if he hadn’t been forced to come out.
The biggest worry with having these artists who are all heavily sexualised to heterosexual women, coming out as queer, as we know, is losing a huge part of their fanbase. Thus losing profits. Which naturally, no record label or artist wants.
My thoughts on Mark Feehily coming out before the 10 years milestone is that even though Stephen Gately was forced out of the closet at the height of Boyzone’s fame, his sexuality had no negative bearing on the success of the band. Despite having a queer boyband member, the band was still climbing to dizzying heights. So when Mark Feehily starting making noise about struggling with his closet, attending therapy for this reason, I think Louis Walsh was able to draw on the experience of Stephen Gately being out of the closest and the band reaching dizzying heights despite this. So to ensure Westlife carried on climbing to dizzying heights themselves it made sense to allow Mark to come out, one queer boyband member had no negative bearing on the success of Boyzone so why not Westlife too? Especially when their fanbases crossed over. I mean, I loved both bands equally, as I’m sure many others did. So why would it be a problem to walk the same line.
This leads me to the closeting of One Direction. Namely Louis and Harry. When Louis Tomlinson burst onto our screens in the X-Factor auditions and then in the video diaries, his flamboyance was very apparent. At this point it was never hidden or censored. One queer boyband member wasn’t detrimental to the success of a boyband as we established with Boyzone and Westlife. I think the problems arose when it started to become apparent that Louis and Harry were falling in love with each other. One queer boyband member isn’t detrimental to the success of the band but TWO queer members, nut uh, no way, label and management weren’t taking any chances with that. Especially when one of them (Harry) was proving to be a huge hit with females. They had to nip this in the bud as soon as possible. And so the closeting began. Telling the boys that if the fans thought they were queer and together and essentially unattainable to the fanbase, they would fuck it all up for themselves and the rest of the band. That’s a lot of pressure for two teenage boys on the brink of having their dreams come true. So when the X-Factor ended and the boy’s didn’t win, they were more than willing to sign the contract that Simon Cowell presented them with. Cleanliness Clause and all.
That was 12 years ago.
I think Harry has been able to shake off some of the constraints of the cleanliness clause over the years. I personally think that this was achievable due to deals made when Louis signed with Simon when the band went on hiatus. I feel that by Louis agreeing to sign again, he made a deal with Simon that a lot of the constraints Harry was under through contracts with Syco were waived. Letting Harry be as open as he wants to be.
We’re seeing movements from Louis in recent months that seem out of character for him. One particularly notable one is the rainbow merch we saw at the AFHF. This is the first time Louis has had anything like that in his merch. A small shift, but a shift nonetheless. I’m excited to see where this goes for Louis. All I want for the boys is happiness and freedom and this new era we’re heading into gives me hope that those things could be achievable for them.
Are we in a new 1D post-cleanliness clause era?

Getting To Know You
This is long, I probably overdid it, but I hope you all enjoy!🥰
(GIF credits @thollandgifs )
You wander the halls of the studio, walking down long hallways, turning corners, and eyes scanning each sign on the doors of the rooms. You look back down to your phone, skimming through the email the costume department had sent you. Costume Design / Wardrobe — Room 220. Sighing, you glance at the door beside you, Production Design — Room 125. You mentally cursed at yourself for taking so long to get to the studio. You had just arrived in Cleveland, literally just that morning. After a lengthy flight to Cleveland, you were escorted to the house that you would be calling home for the next several months. There waiting for you was a rented car and the belongings that you had packed from home to be delivered to your rented house. Since the house was already decorated and furnished, there was no need in packing all your furniture from home, instead you shipped clothes you couldn’t fit in your luggage and other important belongings that would be difficult to bring onto a flight.
The moment you stepped foot into the house you didn’t bother looking around or going through the boxes that were stacked near the entrance. You made a quick trip to the kitchen, taking a bottle of water from the fridge and drinking a majority of it. The house was spacious but not a hassle to get around, you peaked into a few rooms until you found the bedroom. Removing your shoes, you pulled back the neatly tucked comforter and climbed into the soft bed. Your eyes were already drooping the moment your head hit the pillow. Before sleep can consume you, you turned on an alarm on your phone about an hour and a half prior to the time you were expected to be at the studio.
You were used to traveling to new places due to your job as an actress. Renting out homes and cars for months on end was nothing new to you. Neither was figuring out your way around the new state or country you were currently living in. Though Cleveland was different; you had a GPS to tell you directions to the studio but you were still getting lost, making wrong turns and taking wrong lanes on the highway. Stopping by Starbucks for an iced coffee and croissant to fill you up didn’t help, instead it added on to your reason being late.
You were still roaming the halls with your head tilted down to stare at your phone. The stress from being behind schedule mixed with your sleep deprivation created a headache to pound in your head. Suddenly, your shoulder harshly knocks into something. You yelp, apologies already spilling from your lips as you continue your rush to the costume department—wherever it was.
“(Y/n)?” A familiar voice with an accent asks. Your shoes come to a halt on the carpeted floors of the studio. Your head whips back to see the warm brown eyes you were once staring into during that audition how many months ago.
“Tom!” You exclaim making your way back to him. You were taken aback by his appearance. The last you saw him he was buffer and had a head full of soft dark brown curls. His body was thinner, cheeks a bit more sunken in, and his curls were long gone replaced with a buzzcut. Though you should’ve expected his change in appearance, you guys were playing heroin addicts for crying out loud. You had also been put on a diet in preparation for your role as Emily, loosing a fair amount of weight yourself.
“Hey, you’re here! I didn’t know you were in Cleveland already. How long have you been here?” He asks, arms pulling you in for a friendly hug. You happily accept the gesture, hugging him back.
“Umm, I actually just got here this morning.” You answer once you both pull away. His eyes widen for a second, “And they already called you in? For fittings right?”
“Yeah, I thought I’d have a day to settle in but we’ve got a tight schedule. Filming starts soon—like in a month and a half?” Though filming didn’t start till the next month or so, the Russo brothers wanted both you and Tom to be in Cleveland a month earlier. This was to help with pre production preparations. It was also used to help you and Tom do research for your roles in Cherry and to get to know each other.
Tom looks at the wall with a raised brow, “Uhh, something like that, yeah.” His eyes flicker back to you, “Where are you off to?”
“To wardrobe, but I can’t find the place and I’m already running late.” You sigh.
“Well, lucky for you, I just came from there. I’ll take you.” He offers, raising his elbow out for you. You smile at him, looping your arm around his and quietly thank him. He leads you to the wardrobe department and drops you off; exchanging a quick joke with the ladies and another hug for you before leaving.
You remember the day you met Tom. You were called back from your audition to do a chemistry read with the lead role of Cherry, who at the time you didn’t know was Tom. Your nerves were at a high that day. You’ve made it so far into the audition process that you hoped your anxiousness wouldn’t get the best of you and mess it up. As an actor, you were used to meeting new faces all the time, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have anxiety when it comes to meeting new people. Questions wracked your brain. What if you didn’t have chemistry with the lead role? What if you did have chemistry but the lead role was a dick? Does your breath smell good? Are your clothes too casual? What if you have to kiss the lead role? What kind of scene were you guys doing?
All your questions and feelings of uneasiness were thrown out the window the moment you saw Tom’s friendly face. He greeted you as if you were long time friends. That sweet smile of his made the tension in your body at ease, it was kind and warm, like it was his silent way of comforting you after picking up on your nerves. Tom was a force in the room, his cheerful and optimistic energy radiating off of him and onto the other people in the room. Maybe that’s why you felt so comfortable to be around him during the chemistry read.
He was very welcoming, taking it upon himself to spark a conversation with you while the casting directors and producers prepared themselves for your chemistry read. You remembered the way he naturally leaned closer to you, bending down a few times to hear you, his eyes remaining on yours while you conversed, the both of you aware of each other’s presence. You weren’t going to lie to yourself; Tom was attractive. He had gorgeous brown eyes that you could never get tired of looking into, a charming smile, and a beautiful personality. He was easy to get along with. The chemistry read ended with smiles from everyone in the room. You remember thinking to yourself, if you were going to be casted, you wouldn’t mind being casted alongside him. Weeks of sitting around and patiently waiting, you get a call from the Russos saying you were casted as Emily.
Fittings only took an hour tops, most of the clothes were bought since there was no need in designing fancy or sparkly costumes. Before leaving the studio building, you had a quick meeting with the Russos. It was mostly about the basic stuff, the run down of the schedule, the filming process, preparations, etc. By the time you were done at the studio, the sun had set and the night sky took over Cleveland. You stopped by a fast food chain for dinner and took it to go. You drive home, eat your food, and your night ends there.
The next time you saw Tom wasn’t that long from when you saw him at the studio. He called you days later, asking if you would like to join him at the VA. As someone who had no experience with drugs or were surrounded by people who faced addictions; drugs was a new territory for you. Of course, you’ve heard about it and learned the basics of it at school, but you’ve never had to act like a heroin addict. Until now.
You drive to the VA on an early Thursday morning, this time not getting lost on your way to your destination. The air was chilly, the sky dark and cloudy after braving a storm. You park your car and send a text off to Tom saying you’ve arrived. You meet up at the entrance of the VA. He was dressed in jeans, a sweatshirt, and sneakers. His attire similar to yours, which made you chuckle to yourself. He greets you with a hug, his arms brining you warmth from the cool air.
“Hey, love.” His voice was deep, still fresh from sleep. You smile fondly at him. Though you first met him a few months back, reuniting a few days ago, the boy’s been growing on you.
“Hey, thanks for inviting me.” The two of you remain outside, hesitant to enter the VA. It daunted both you and Tom to face the veterans inside. The VA was a sacred place for them, you didn’t want to overstep boundaries or offend anyone with questions for research. They’ve suffered from PTSD or were recovering from substance abuse, some of them just starting out their recovery. You did not know what to expect or hear once you step foot into the building.
Tom’s feet shift against the pavement, his hands shoved into his pockets, “Yeah, it’s no problem. I just thought that—you know, since we’re the only two playing heroin addicts in the movie, I thought we could do this together.”
You smile reassuringly at him, “No, I get it. I honestly appreciate it, Tom, thank you.” You look around the area. It was a quiet place, not too many cars parked in the parking lot, a few trees scattered, and the building had a tan almost bland colored exterior. Your eyes drift back to Tom’s, which were already on you.
You gesture to the building with your head, “You ready to go in?” Tom nervously breaths in eyeing the building. You catch on to his hesitancy and place your hand on his arm.
“Hey, you alright?”
“I’m fine. I’m just a bit nervous to talk to them, you know? I don’t want them to think I’m using their suffering as some kind of inspiration for this role.” He explains. You nod understanding, “Yeah, I know what you mean. I feel the same way, I don’t want to trespass on their privacy either. Wanna take a minute out here?”
“I think I’m good. How about you?” Tom composes himself. You flash him a tight smile nodding. Together, the two of you enter the VA, greeted by a receptionist who leads you both to a room.
You and Tom spend most of the day at the VA listening to the different stories of veterans who’ve suffered from PTSD and or substance/drug abuse. Some of them were very open and willing to share, telling you the hardships of their experience. Then there were those who were at the start of their recovery journey, a bit closed off, but were still willing to share nonetheless.
Tom watched as you listened to each veteran intently. Your eyes remained on them, your head nodding along, as you asked them questions or added some input to their stories. Unlike Tom, you seemed more composed and calmer than him. This was something he wasn’t used to, he wasn’t used to talking about drugs or military veterans and addiction. All of this talk was uncharted territory for him, it was dark and terrifying, something he never associated himself with. He was glad you agreed to come along because without you he wasn’t sure if he could do this all alone.
Tom would be lying if he said he didn’t feel some kind of attraction towards you. There was just some sense of comfort or tranquility that drew him to you. You had the brightest smile that lit up the room, sometimes he even found himself smiling because of it. He admired the way you greeted each veteran or former drug addict with a comforting smile and talked to them as if they were just a person, and not as someone who’s been suffering. You made the room feel like a safe space for them to share their experiences without feeling like they were being judged.
Tom was quiet for the most part, asking questions when he felt they were necessary or when something peaked his interest. He added a few comments here and there but for most of the time he listened. He listened to the horrifying and heartbreaking experiences of each veteran. There was a point in the interviews where it dawned on Tom that he was going to have to portray what these veterans went through. From the traumas of war, through the struggles of PTSD, to the excessive use of drugs and alcohol—Tom became reluctant in becoming Cherry. Was he really ready to become a heroin addict? Was he mentally prepared to shred himself and be in the mindset of something so ruinous?
From time to time you glanced over at Tom, checking if he was alright. At the start he was a bit fidgety, his leg bouncing and fingers fumbling with each other. His questions came out stuttered but by the middle of the interviews he grew comfortable in the room. Once in a while you would ask him how he was and he would answer with a small nod and an assuring smile. He then would reciprocate the question with a whisper leaning closer for only you to hear.
By the time the last veteran walked out, Tom felt a responsibility to give these people justice. To not only tell their stories and of other veterans around the world, but to bring awareness to the things that they’ve faced. Not only Tom felt that but so did you. These people have opened up to you guys about the darkest and lowest points in their lives, the best way you can both thank them would have to be by portraying your roles as accurate and realistic as possible.
There was a stillness in the room; it was quiet. The only sounds being heard was the ticking of the clock on the wall beside you and the distant sound of cars driving by. Tom was the first to speak, “I’m really glad you’re here.”
Your brows knitted together, put off by his random comment. “Why’s that?”
Tom shrugs, taking a breath in and turning in his seat to face you, “I couldn’t have done these interviews alone. From trying to make them feel comfortable and asking all these questions, I would’ve felt so overwhelmed. So, thank you.”
Your mouth curves into a small smile, “Give yourself some credit. I couldn’t have done this without you either. I can’t imagine doing these interviews alone, I wouldn’t be able to handle the intensity of all those stories by myself.”
Moments later the two of you finish your time at the VA. You walk towards your car, which was nearest to the building. “This is me.” You gesture to your car.
Tom nods in response. After all the stories he’s heard, he didn’t want to be alone. Sure, he has Harry back at his place, but it just wouldn’t be the same. He wouldn’t understand what was going through Tom’s head. Tom hesitates to ask you if you want to hang out, but after a quick mental argument against himself, he pushes himself to ask, “Um, what are you doing after this?”
You unlock your car and toss your bag into the passenger’s seat. “I’ll probably stop by Whole Foods or something. I need to fill up my fridge and pick up some stuff at Target that I might need.” You lean against the frame of your car. “Why?”
“Oh, I was gonna ask if you wanted to do something—it’s totally fine, since you’re busy and all.” Tom stutters out as he waved his hand at you. He was a bit disappointed that you were busy, besides not wanting to be by himself, he really wanted to spend time with you. You guys were friendly, but he wanted to get to know you more.
“Hey! If you want, you could come along? I could use the company.” You suggest, lips curving to a half smile. You gesture to his arms and jokingly say, “I could also use a pair of strong arms to help me.”
Tom bashfully chuckles, “I’d like that.” He turns to where his car was parked and motions to it over his shoulder. “I brought my car, so I guess I’ll just follow you there?”
“Yeah, I’ll just, I’ll text you the location.” You hold your phone up.
“Great, I’ll see you then.” Tom confirms and pulls you into a hug. You giggle at how affectionate he can be. You were gonna see him again in just a few minutes; the drive to Whole Foods wasn’t that long.
Tom parks his car besides yours in the Whole Foods parking lot. You both lock up your vehicles and make your way into the market. On the way, Tom grabs a shopping cart for you. You try to steal it away from him, but he insists on pushing the cart the entire time. You take out your list on your phone and navigate your way through the aisles of Whole Foods. While you throw things into the cart, you and Tom converse. The both of you share some basic information, like things about your hometowns, your families and friends, just the general stuff. You guys were talking about pets when you reached cereal aisle.
“I had a Yorkie when I was growing up, he was the sweetest little thing. He sadly passed because of a heart attack.” You reminisced as you scanned the shelves for your preferred cereal brand. Your hand held onto the cart that Tom pushed with his elbows, as he leaned his entire weight onto the cart.
Tom frowned at the mention of your dog, “I’m sorry.” You give him a look, wordlessly telling him that you were ok and have moved on. “So, did you get to bring Tessa to Cleveland?”
“Nope, she’s not too fond of flights, so I don’t put her through the struggle of getting on a plane.” You find your cereal and try to reach for it, “Aww, I would’ve wanted to meet her. From what you told me, she sounds like a sweetheart.”
Tom chuckles at you before coming from behind the cart and helping you get the cereal down. You look at him with a sheepish grin, “I had that, but thank you.”
Tom squints his eyes playfully at you, “Did you really? Because you looked like you were struggling a bit?”
“No, I was stretching.” You quip back eyes twinkling with amusement. You place the box in the cart and drag the cart. Tom chuckles returning to the front of the cart and pushes it. You look back at him, “You wanna have dinner at my place? I could make a pretty good pizza.”
“Is that so? I guess I might have to try it for myself, I’m in.” He agrees. The two of you finish up at Whole Foods. The cart was overflowing with brown bags when you and Tom walked back to your cars. Always the gentleman, Tom helps you put all your bags into your car’s trunk and even takes back the cart to the designated area that stored them. You split off into your separate cars and stop by Target before you go home. Going to Target with Tom was probably one of the most chaotic and hilarious things you’ve ever done. It took you about two hours in Target just to get what you were looking for. Most of the time in the store was you and Tom looking at children’s toys, making fun of weird costumes you found, and finding meaningless shit to buy because why not? You never thought Tom could be a dumbass until you saw him try to bounce a ball onto the floor and make it land onto his head.
“Tom, we’re gonna get in trouble.” You warn him, looking around to see if anyone were looking at you guys. You spot a camera a few feet away but it was nowhere close to you both.
“Don’t worry darling, we won’t. I got you, trust me.” He assures you as he gets himself into position. You shake your head at him while you sip on the coffee you got from Starbucks.
“Wait, so what are you doing again?” You ask.
“I’m going to try and get the ball on my head.” He answers clearly distracted. He digs his sneakers into the floor and prepares himself to bounce the ball. “You ready, darling?”
“No, but go ahead.”
It all happened so quick. Tom being the dumbass he was, underestimated the amount of force he put onto the ball. Instead of the ball bouncing a few feet into the air, it bounces into the next aisle and the next thing you both know you hear a *boing* and a baby crying. You and Tom look at each other with wide eyes. He rushes over to you and helps you maneuver the cart away from the sports section. You’re caged in by his arms, in between the cart and his chest as you both quietly giggle to yourselves.
“I think that’s our cue to leave.” You tell him through more fits of giggles.
The two of you are now in your rented house. You work together in the kitchen, working as a team to figure out the recipe for the pizza dough. Tom is beside you, looking over your shoulder while you both read through the Food Network recipe on your phone.
“Ok, we did all of that. So now we knead the dough, toss it into a bowl and let it rise. Then we could roll it in a little bit.” You read turning your phone off and looking at Tom. He nods and takes the dough out. You sprinkle flour onto your counter and onto the dough as Tom volunteers to knead the pizza dough.
Tom’s Spotify playlist plays lowly in the background. You were both quiet, basking in the comfortable atmosphere between the two of you. Weirdly enough, there was never an awkward moment with Tom. He could say the same thing for you.
You try to avoid the way his arms flex and how his veins pop out as he massages the dough. You glance at his buzzcut hair and ask, “Do you think your hair will grow back by the time you shoot Spider-Man three? Or are we going to have a bald Peter Parker?”
He stops his motions and looks at you shocked, “You’ve watched my Spider-Man movies?”
“Of course I have! I’m a big Marvel fan, my whole family actually is, especially my nephew. We love your version of Spidey—well except my dad and his brother, but besides them we love your version.” You explain. You see a smile twitch onto his lips as he continues his task.
“Wow, thanks. I never thought you’d watch my movies.” Through the warm lights of your kitchen, you see a blush spread onto his cheeks.
“What do you mean?”
Tom stops massaging the pizza dough and looks at you, “Well I’ve—wow this is embarrassing—but I’ve always kinda been a fan of your work. My brothers and I always watch your movies, and they never disappoint us. You’re just amazing! And now I get to work with you, and I’m not going to lie I’m still a bit starstruck, but it’s literally an honor to work with you.”
You look at him taken aback by his confession. You shake yourself out of your shock, “Well I guess that makes the two of us because you still make me a bit starstruck whenever I see you too.”
From that night on, you and Tom always hung out. Whether it be at your house or his, you both managed to spend the entire day together. Sometimes you’d both stay way too late at each other’s house, that you ended up having sleepovers. You guys would still have weekly visits to the VA, doing more research and meeting more veterans. To lighten the mood after, you and Tom would go to Target, get a bunch of junk food and knickknacks, then go to one of your places to watch a movie. The two of you have even explored Cleveland on your own with Harry tagging along once in a while. When Tom found out you were going to be living alone during the duration of filming, he offered that you could stay with him and Harry. Though you didn’t want to intrude on their privacy, both Holland brothers insisted that you live with them. You were still debating on their offer, but you were still spending most of your nights with them anyway.
It was one of those nights again but it was different. Today was the last free day you both had before filming began. It was different because you haven’t portrayed the deeply flawed characters you were both casted as. You and Tom spent the morning at the studio along with the Russos and the rest of the cast doing a table read of the entire movie. Reading and listening to the entire movie out loud made you anxious for the day to come. You were scared that not only you, but Tom, might go down a spiral of darkness throughout the process of this film. Cherry was something new for both of you. Neither of you have worked on a project as cataclysmic or dreadful as Cherry.
You were quitely sat on Tom’s couch staring at the sun setting through his windows. Tom was in the kitchen making the both of you cups of tea to warm you up from the harsh cool air of Cleveland. Harry was in his room, telling you and Tom that he was going to take a nap and to not worry about him. Tom watched you from the kitchen. The sun’s golden rays reflected on your skin, giving it a glow. Your brows were furrowed as you seemed to be deep in thought.
“Wanna sit on the patio and see the sunset from outside?” Tom comes up behind you with a half smile on his lips. You happily nod and take his hand to get off the couch. He slings his arm around you and hands you your jacket. He tells you to go out first and that he’ll meet you outside with the tea.
You sit on the steps of his patio, watching the sky change from shades of blue to a mix of orange, pink, and purple. You hear the door open and footsteps against the wood of the floors. You look up to see Tom holding two cups of tea with a fluffy blanket over his shoulder. A beanie was now on his head and a jumper was pulled over his shirt.
You thank him as he hands you your cup. Tom settles beside you, placing his cup on the steps and began to open up the blanket.
“Why do you have a blanket?” You ask him. He untangles the blanket and puts it over his shoulders, his arm wraps around you, pulling you flush against his side.
“To keep us warm.” He answers while he reaches for his cup. “I tried to find another blanket, but I think Harry took it.”
You brush his comment off, “It’s fine, I like this better.”
A peaceful silence lays upon the two of you as your eyes stare at the sky and your lips sip onto the cup. Tom’s arm remains around you as his fingers draw random patterns onto your arm. Tom was the first to break the silence.
“How do you feel about filming starting tomorrow?” He asks you quietly. Your eyes shift to the tea in your cup.
“Honestly? I’m a bit nervous, especially since we’re starting off with the heroin addiction parts. I don’t know how to feel about it.” You answer.
Tom hums, “I know what you mean. I’m pretty scared too.” Your eyes remove themselves from your cup to look up at Tom.
“Why are you scared?”
“I just—it scares me that all the acting and trying to be in the mindset of Nico might actually affect me. Like maybe by the end of this film, he’ll be a part of me.” He admits, his teeth gritting against each other. You look at him sympathetically. He was truly going through a war in his mind; just by the way he was glaring at the sky and how his fingers stopped drawing on your arm and instead gripped it. It was like he was looking for leverage to stop himself from falling down a loophole of possible outcomes of the end of this movie.
Your hand grasps his hand on your shoulder, catching his attention. His deep brown eyes connect with yours, “You’re not going to turn into Nico, Tom.”
“How do you know that? What if the more I act like him the more I turn into him? (Y/n), what if I get so lost into the character that I eventually loose myself in the process? What do I do when that happens?” He began to ramble, questions spilling from his tongue as he looked at you pleadingly.
You shake your head and squeeze his hand, “It’s not going to happen Tom. You wanna know how I know why?” Tom shakes his head.
“Because we’ll have each other’s backs. I’ll be there right beside you. If you ever feel like you’re spiraling down too deep as Nico, I’ll be there to get you out. You don’t have to go through all of that alone, Tom. I’ll be here for you, you could trust me.” You promise him. Tom’s mind seems to stop racing as his eyes gaze into yours. He finds nothing but honesty in them. You feel his hand fumble with yours before he interlocks them together.
“What if it gets really ugly?”
“You’re allowed to be vulnerable honey, especially around me, I won’t judge. I’ll still be there for you. ” You reassure him. You try to lighten up the mood by bumping your shoulder against his. “Plus, we’re actors, vulnerable is our middle name. How do you think Leo finally got an Oscar?” You joke. The frown on Tom’s face breaks as he stifles a laugh. You smile at the way the corners of his eyes crinkle, he was happy.
Your laughter dies down and you’re staring at him again, “But seriously, Tom. I’ll be here for you whether you like it or not, nobody should have to go through the mental capacity of a heroin addict by themselves.”
Tom nods, “Thank you. I can’t imagine anyone else in my corner but you while we film this. You’ve honestly been such a godsend and we haven’t even started filming yet. Thank you for being so understanding and patient with me.” He smiles fondly at you, pressing a kiss to your temple and pulling you into a hug. You hum in response and place your head in the crook of his neck, “You don’t have to thank me.”
Silence once again consumes the both of you. The birds chirp in the distance and the sky has now turned a dark purple. “You can count on me too. I’ll be there for you.” Tom whispers against your hair. You silently thank him, snuggling closer to his warm embrace. The fears of tomorrow slowly fade from your bodies as you watch the darkness consume the light in the sky.
