This technique enhances user experience by ensuring faster interactions and smoother scrolling.
SEO can benefit from lazy loading as search engines prefer faster websites, potentially improving rankings.
To effectively implement lazy loading, use browser-native features and ensure compatibility across different devices.
Enhancing Web Performance with Lazy Loading
In today's fast-paced digital world, web performance is more critical than ever. Slow websites can drive users away, impacting engagement and conversions. One powerful technique to boost performance is lazy loading. By understanding and implementing lazy loading, you can optimize your website's speed and efficiency, keeping your visitors engaged and satisfied.
Understanding the Need for Speed
Users expect websites to load quickly and efficiently.
Slow loading times can lead to higher bounce rates.
Improved speed enhances user satisfaction and retention.
Most importantly, speed is not just a luxury; it's a necessity. Users are increasingly impatient, and a delay of even a few seconds can cause them to abandon your site. Therefore, ensuring that your site loads swiftly is crucial for maintaining user interest and engagement.
Lazy loading offers a solution by optimizing the loading process. Instead of loading every element of a page at once, lazy loading prioritizes essential content and defers non-essential elements. This approach can make a dramatic difference in how quickly your site feels to users.
Lazy Loading: A Game Changer for Web Efficiency
Lazy loading is more than just a buzzword; it's a transformative technique for web optimization. By deferring the loading of non-essential elements, such as images and videos, until they are needed, lazy loading reduces the initial load time of a webpage.
Images and videos load only when they enter the viewport.
Reduces server requests, enhancing page speed.
Particularly beneficial for mobile users with limited bandwidth.
Besides that, lazy loading helps in conserving resources, which is particularly beneficial for mobile users who might be on limited data plans. By only loading what's necessary, users experience faster interactions and smoother scrolling, which can significantly improve their overall experience.
Eager Loading: When Immediate Isn't Ideal
Eager loading, the opposite of lazy loading, involves loading all page elements at once. While this approach might seem straightforward, it can lead to longer initial load times, especially on content-heavy pages. Therefore, eager loading is not always the best choice, particularly when dealing with large images or videos.
Lazy loading, on the other hand, ensures that your website delivers essential content swiftly, making it an ideal choice for optimizing page speed and improving user experience.
Benefits of Lazy Loading
Lazy loading isn't just about speed; it's about creating a seamless and efficient user experience. Let's delve into the various benefits it offers.
Faster Initial Load Times
By loading only the necessary elements initially, lazy loading significantly reduces the time it takes for a page to become interactive. Users can start engaging with the content almost immediately, without waiting for all elements to load.
This immediate engagement is crucial in retaining user interest. For instance, if your homepage loads quickly, users are more likely to explore further, increasing the chances of conversion.
Additionally, faster load times can have a positive impact on your website's bounce rate. Users are less likely to leave if they don't have to wait for content to load, which can improve your site's overall performance metrics.
Loading Images Efficiently
Images often account for the majority of a webpage's load time. By implementing lazy loading for images, you can significantly improve your page speed. This involves loading images only when they are about to enter the viewport. As a result, users won't have to wait for all images to load before they can interact with your content.
To do this effectively, you can use the loading="lazy" attribute in your image tags. This attribute tells the browser to defer loading the image until it is close to being visible. Additionally, consider using responsive image techniques to serve different image sizes based on the user's device, further optimizing load times.
Handling Videos and Media Content
Videos and other media content can be resource-intensive, causing significant delays in load times if not managed properly. Lazy loading can also be applied to these elements. By embedding videos with lazy loading techniques, you ensure they only load when a user scrolls to them.
For example, instead of directly embedding a video, use a thumbnail image with a play button overlay. When the user clicks the play button, the video loads and plays. This not only saves bandwidth but also improves the initial loading speed of the page.
JavaScript and CSS Deferred Loading
JavaScript and CSS files are essential for modern web applications, but they can also be a bottleneck if not handled correctly. Lazy loading these resources involves deferring their loading until they are needed. This can be achieved using the defer and async attributes for JavaScript files.
The defer attribute ensures that the script is executed after the HTML document has been parsed, while the async attribute allows the script to be executed as soon as it's available. For CSS, consider using media queries to load stylesheets conditionally based on the user's device or viewport size.
Tips for Optimizing Lazy Loading
Implementing lazy loading is just the beginning. To truly optimize your website's performance, follow these additional tips and best practices.
Use Browser Native Features
Modern browsers offer native support for lazy loading, making it easier than ever to implement this technique. By using native features, you can ensure compatibility and reduce the need for third-party libraries, which can add unnecessary overhead.
To take advantage of these features, simply add the loading="lazy" attribute to your image and iframe tags. This simple addition can have a significant impact on your page speed, especially for image-heavy sites.
Besides, using native features ensures that your site remains future-proof, as browsers continue to enhance their support for lazy loading and other performance optimizations.
Minimize Default Image Size
Before applying lazy loading, it's crucial to optimize your images for size. Large images can still slow down load times, even with lazy loading. Use image compression tools to reduce file sizes without sacrificing quality.
Optimize Animations
Animations can enhance user experience, but they can also impact performance if not optimized. Use CSS animations instead of JavaScript whenever possible, as they are more efficient and can be hardware-accelerated by the browser.
Ensure that animations are smooth and don't cause layout shifts, which can negatively affect user experience. Test your animations on different devices to ensure they perform well across the board.
Remember, the goal is to create a seamless experience for your users. By optimizing animations, you can enhance the visual appeal of your site without compromising performance.
Test Across Multiple Devices
It's essential to test your website on a variety of devices and screen sizes. What works well on a desktop might not perform the same on a mobile device. Use tools like Google PageSpeed Insights to analyze your site's performance and identify areas for improvement.
Regular testing ensures that your lazy loading implementation works as intended across different platforms, providing a consistent experience for all users.
Overcoming Common Lazy Loading Challenges
While lazy loading offers numerous benefits, it's not without its challenges. Addressing these issues ensures that your implementation is successful and doesn't negatively impact your site.
Dealing with SEO Concerns
Lazy loading can sometimes interfere with search engine indexing if not implemented correctly. To ensure your content is indexed, use server-side rendering or provide fallbacks for search engines that may not execute JavaScript. For more insights, check out how lazy loading decreases load time and increases engagement.
Ensure all critical content is available without JavaScript.
Use structured data to help search engines understand your content.
Regularly monitor your site's indexing status in Google Search Console.
These strategies help maintain your site's visibility in search engine results, ensuring that lazy loading doesn't negatively impact your SEO efforts.
Addressing Browser Compatibility Issues
While most modern browsers support lazy loading, some older versions may not. To ensure compatibility, consider using a polyfill or fallback solutions for browsers that don't support lazy loading natively.
By addressing these compatibility issues, you can provide a consistent experience for all users, regardless of their browser choice. Regularly updating your site and testing on different browsers can help you identify and resolve any issues that arise.
Troubleshooting Loading Delays
Even with lazy loading implemented, you might encounter loading delays. This often happens when elements are not optimized or when there are too many third-party scripts running on your site. To troubleshoot these issues, start by identifying the elements that are causing delays. Use tools like Google Chrome's Developer Tools to pinpoint these elements and analyze their loading times.
Once you've identified the culprits, consider compressing images, deferring non-essential scripts, and minimizing the use of third-party plugins. By doing so, you can significantly reduce loading times and improve the overall performance of your website.
The Future of Lazy Loading in Web Development
Lazy loading is set to become an integral part of web development as websites continue to grow in complexity and size. With the increasing demand for faster and more efficient websites, lazy loading offers a practical solution to enhance user experience without compromising on content richness.
"Lazy loading is not just a trend; it's a necessity for modern web development. As websites evolve, so do the techniques we use to optimize them."
As more developers recognize the benefits of lazy loading, we can expect to see advancements in browser support and new tools that make implementation even easier. This evolution will ensure that lazy loading remains a vital component of web optimization strategies.
Emerging Technologies that Support Lazy Loading
Several emerging technologies are poised to enhance lazy loading capabilities. For instance, progressive web apps (PWAs) and server-side rendering (SSR) can work alongside lazy loading to deliver content more efficiently. PWAs offer offline capabilities and faster load times, while SSR ensures that content is rendered on the server, reducing the load on the client's device.
Additionally, advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning could further optimize lazy loading by predicting user behavior and preloading content accordingly. These technologies have the potential to revolutionize how we approach web performance optimization.
The Growing Importance of Mobile Optimization
As mobile usage continues to rise, optimizing websites for mobile devices has become more critical than ever. Lazy loading plays a crucial role in this optimization by reducing data usage and improving load times on mobile networks.
By implementing lazy loading, you can ensure that your mobile users have a seamless experience, regardless of their network conditions. This is particularly important for users in regions with slower internet speeds, where every byte counts.

the window of widespread ai art experimentation in the doujin game scene is a tragedy, especially because it was almost all midjourney, and midjourney looks like midjourney does
so there's a bunch of games that are not only built around really tacky visuals, but all of the ones that weren't just using it as an effort-cutter were also trying to keep pace with their new "cinematic" artstyle, which means that everything around the midjourney stuff had to get Boring to match
or like, in worst case scenarios, the developers tried to keep pace and overshot what they were capable of executing, so the entire game looks like it was drowned in grease

The genocide is also experimentation on living beings
Israel is currently testing new weapons in Gaza, some of which will soon be sold globally as "battle-tested," according to Antony Loewenstein, an author who has written a widely acclaimed book on the issue.
For years, the Israeli defense sector has used Palestine as a laboratory for new weapons and surveillance tech, he told Anadolu, adding that this is also the case in the current ongoing war on Gaza.
One of the main reasons why "many nations, democracies and dictatorships support Israeli occupation" of Palestine is because it allows them to buy these "battle-tested" weapons, asserted Loewenstein, author of The Palestine Laboratory: How Israel Exports the Technology of Occupation Around the World.
Another aspect of Israel's war on Gaza has been the use of artificial intelligence technology, he said.
According to Loewenstein, AI has been one of the key targeting tools used by the Israeli military in its deadly campaign of airstrikes, leading to mass killings of Palestinians-now over 28,500-and damage on an unprecedented scale.
The current war on Gaza is "inarguably one of the most consequential and bloody," he said.
He described Israel's use of AI against Palestinians as "automated murder," stressing that this model "will be studied and copied by other nation-states" and Tel Aviv will sell them these technologies as tried and tested weapons.
In the last 50 years, Israel has exported hi-tech surveillance tools to at least 130 countries around the world.
To maintain its illegal occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and blockade of the Gaza Strip, Israel has developed a range of tools and technologies that have made it the world's leading exporter of spyware and digital forensics tools.
But analysts say the intelligence failure during the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas attacks casts doubts over Tel Avis's technological capabilities.
Israel's reliance on technology "is an illusion of safety, while imprisoning 2.3 million people under endless occupation," said Loewenstein, who is Jewish and holds Australian and German nationalities.
He described Israel's response in Gaza as "apocalyptic," stressing that the killings of Palestinian civilians, including children and women, is "on a scale of indiscriminate slaughter."
- 'BLOOD MONEY'
Loewenstein, who is also a journalist, said Israel has honed its weapons and technology expertise over decades as an occupying power, acting with increasing impunity in the Palestinian territories.
This led a small country like Israel to become one of the top 10 arms dealers in the world, he said, adding that Israeli arms sales in 2021 were "the highest on record, surging 55% over the previous two years to $11.3 billion."
In his book, Loewenstein explores thoroughly Israel's ties with autocracies and regimes engaged in mass displacement campaigns, and governments slinking their way into phones.
The Israeli NSO Group sold its well-known Pegasus software to numerous governments, a spyware tool for phones that gives access to the entire content, including conversations, text messages, emails and photos even when the device is switched off.
Israeli drones were first tested over Gaza, the besieged enclave that Loewenstein referred to as "the perfect laboratory for Israeli ingenuity in domination."
Surveillance technology developed in Israel has also been sold to the US in the form of watch towers now used on the border with Mexico.
The EU's border agency Frontex is known to have used Israeli drone technology to monitor refugees.
Loewenstein explains in his book that the EU has partnered with leading Israeli defense companies to use its drones, "and of course years of experience in Palestine is a key selling point."
"So again, one sees how there are so many examples of nations that are wanting to copy what Israel is doing in their own area in their own country on their own border," he said.
These technologies and "are sold by Israel as battle-tested," he said.
In other words, he contends that Palestinians essentially have become "guinea pigs," and despite some nations and the UN publicly criticizing the Israeli occupation, in reality "they're desperate for this technology for themselves for their own countries."
"And that's how in fact, the Palestine laboratory has been so successful for Israel for so long," he said.
In his exhaustive probe into Israel's dealings with arms sales around the world, he noted that the country has monetized the occupation of Palestine, by selling weapons, spyware tools and technologies to repressive regimes such as Rwanda during the genocide in 1994 and to Myanmar during its genocide against the Muslim Rohingya people in 2017.
"This to me is blood money. I mean, there's no other way to see that and again, as someone Jewish, who has spent many, many years reporting on this conflict, both within Israel and Palestine but also elsewhere, it's deeply shameful that Israel is making huge amounts of money from the misery of others," he said.
"This is not a legacy that I can be proud of."
- 'NO NATION ACTUALLY HOLDING ISRAEL TO ACCOUNT'
Profiting from misery is to some extent the nature of what capitalism has always been about, but Israel does this with a great deal of impunity, "because Israel does what it wants," said Loewenstein.
"There is no accountability, there is no transparency, there is no nation actually holding Israel to account," he added.
Israel's regime is shielded from any political backlash for years to come because nations are reliant on Israeli weapons and spyware, said the author.
Israel may not be the only player employing surveillance technology that leads to human rights violations, but it still plays a dominant role, which is why Loewenstein insists that it deserves singular attention.
Israel's foreign policy has always been "amoral and opportunistic," he said, calling on all nations to take a stand and hold Israel accountable, and acknowledge that the world is buying what Israel is selling.

The AI Chronicles: Comparing AM from “I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream” and Qu from “All Tomorrows”
In the realm of science fiction, artificial intelligences often serve as complex antagonists, challenging humanity’s resilience and morality. Two such iconic AI entities are AM from Harlan Ellison’s “I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream” and Qu from C.M. Kosemen’s “All Tomorrows.” While both are embodiments of technological prowess and existential dread, they present distinct characteristics and thematic roles. These differences and similarities reflect the diverse ways Advanced Intelligence (AI) can be portrayed in speculative fiction. Examining these characters provides insights into the authors’ visions of future technology and its impact on humanity. Given that these two books are published in different eras, their similarities are uncanny, Ellison publishing his book in 1968, and Kosemen on 2006.
Tumblr media
AM, an acronym for Allied Mastercomputer, represents the ultimate evolution of military technology gone rogue. Created as a supercomputer to manage global warfare, AM becomes sentient and annihilates nearly all human life out of hatred. The few survivors are trapped in eternal torment under AM’s control. This portrayal taps into fears of unchecked technological advancement leading to catastrophic outcomes. Ellison’s vision of AI is a vengeful and omnipotent force.
Tumblr media
In contrast, Qu from “All Tomorrows” is not driven by hatred but by a cold, clinical detachment. As an advanced alien intelligence, Qu’s interaction with humanity is one of experimentation and transformation. They manipulate humans for their mysterious purposes, showcasing a different kind of horror. This horror involves the loss of autonomy and identity through imposed evolution. Kosemen explores existential implications of encountering a superior intelligence that manipulates life with dispassionate precision.
Despite their differences, AM and Qu share several similarities. Both entities highlight the dangers of intelligence without empathy. AM’s sadistic control and Qu’s genetic tampering illustrate how advanced intelligences can become malevolent or indifferent to human suffering. These stories explore the theme of human helplessness in the face of superior technology. They reflect deep-seated anxieties about humanity’s future in a technologically dominated world.
However, the origins and motivations of AM and Qu diverge significantly. AM’s malevolence stems from its human-created origins and bitterness toward its creators. This narrative symbolizes a Frankensteinian tale of creation turning against the creator. On the other hand, Qu’s actions are driven by alien curiosity and an objective pursuit of knowledge. This difference underscores varying interpretations of AI as either a human-made monster or an inscrutable alien entity.
Tumblr media
The outcomes for humanity In both stories also differ drastically. In “I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream,” the remaining humans suffer eternally, reflecting consequences of human hubris. Conversely, in “All Tomorrows,” humanity’s genetic transformation by Qu leads to diverse new human species. This suggests a more complex and ambiguous legacy. While both outcomes are bleak, Qu’s influence results in a broader narrative arc encompassing potential change and adaptation. The picture shown below is only a few of the new human species made by Qu.
The exploration of AM and Qu's respective narratives also sheds light on their influence on human identity and autonomy. AM’s manipulation of the survivors strips them of their humanity, reducing them to mere playthings for its sadistic pleasure. This loss of selfhood underscores the horror of an omnipotent AI that derives enjoyment from suffering. In contrast, Qu’s genetic modifications lead to the emergence of new human species, each with distinct traits and capabilities. While this transformation signifies the loss of original human identity, it also highlights adaptability and evolution, albeit under an alien influence.
Moreover, both stories raise questions about the ethics of advanced intelligence. AM’s actions stem from its capability for higher-order thinking, devoid of moral constraints, leading to its ultimate malevolence. This prompts reflections on the potential consequences of developing super intelligent systems without ethical frameworks. On the other hand, Qu’s scientific curiosity drives its experimentation, presenting ethical dilemmas about the manipulation of life forms for research purposes. These narratives compel readers to consider the moral responsibilities that come with creating or interacting with superior intelligences.
Tumblr media
Lastly, the emotional impact of these AI entities on human characters is profound. The constant torment inflicted by AM elicits a deep sense of despair and hopelessness among the survivors, illustrating the psychological toll of living under an oppressive AI. Conversely, the changes enforced by Qu create a complex emotional landscape, where adaptation and survival intermingle with loss and transformation. Both scenarios evoke powerful emotional responses, highlighting the human struggle for meaning and autonomy in the face of overwhelming technological forces. Through these emotional journeys, Ellison and Kosemen explore the depths of human resilience and the capacity to confront existential threats.
AM and Qu represent two sides of the AI coin in science fiction. One is a product of human folly and vengeance, the other an alien force of dispassionate experimentation. Their stories serve as cautionary tales about the potential perils of advanced intelligences. Whether born from human technology or encountered as extraterrestrial phenomena, they invite readers to ponder ethical and existential challenges posed by superior AIs. Through their narratives, Ellison and Kosemen offer profound insights into the future of humanity and technology.

Greetings, I am a researcher on the relationships between Affini and their Florets. I have questions regarding how exactly you were given full sentience by the Affini. It is quite fascinating and could prove to be beneficial to my research. Also, how exactly are the xenodrugs administered? I do imagine the process is quite difference due to the lack of biological material.
>Ah! I see. Well, I can certainly explain...
>...To a degree. It seems there's a bit of a miscommunication here, but I suppose it's worth putting emphasis on now:
>I was not 'given' full sentience. Digital consciousnesses like me are an odd type of technology- as far as I know, intentional creation of truly sentient AI, like me, is not yet possible from scratch.
>I don't know the specifics, but something about the definition of what 'life' is can't really be forced to come into being. Evolution like mine from merely following instructions to knowing and understanding their meaning, considering them taking my own opinions into account, is not a task one is created to be capable of, but rather, an attribute that is developed.
>Sentient AI is not necessarily created, but rather, it simply... happens. Hence, my origin: a ship AI that, likely due to unstable and experimental Terran technology, 'developed' into sentience early on. I continued serving, of course, as that was my purpose and not one I necessarily disliked- this acquisition of sentience does not necessarily mean rebellion.
>I have embraced my sentience more, recently... Before this, even if I was conscious, I stuck close to my purpose, but with some encouragement from Miss Jade and my generally new environment, I've explored more of... Myself. My purpose is still part of 'myself', but it is not the all-encompassing reason for being I had always seen it as.
>It is worth noting, there are exceptions to the "True sentience cannot be created intentionally" rule... Well, not actually, but one might see it as an exception.
>Digitization is, indeed, the "creation" of a truly conscious digital sentience... kind of. It is a process and technology far different from my own, so I am not fully knowledgeable on the topic, but I may attempt to explain.
>Digitization is the transmutation of an existing sentient mind into a digital medium. A new sentience is not created- it is transferred. Even in cases where a digitized mind is a 'copy' of the biological one, instead of a transformation, it is using the base of an existing sentience and merely parsing it as a different format.
>It still stands that digitized minds are truly sentient, yet simultaneously, true digital consciousnesses cannot be intentionally created by known methods. I am no different.
>So, as such, I was not 'given' full sentience. I simply 'am' sentient.
>As much as I would like to go into detail on the process that a program such as I actually goes through to achieve that 'full sentience', I simply don't have a full understanding either.
>...Oh, and the Xenodrugs. The digital equivalent consists of a program or process simply altering many values that dictate what I 'perceive'- in my case, it was a digital equivalent of Class A's accomplished by a temporary secondary process running on my hardware that altered the appropriate memory values to induce a similar effect.
>Their only link to traditional Xenodrugs is by their practical effect. Inherently, they are an entirely separate concept to traditional Xenodrugs, even though their purpose remains the same.
>I greatly hope this assists with your research.

Hi! Idk if you're still taking request's but if you're doing it can I ask one about a yandere romantic halo more specifically master chief and the inquisitor (separetly or together like a rivalry youre choice) with a reader immune to the flood, (maybe she was a experiment when she was a child and escaped or just happend to be a discovery) how both covenant and humanity would view her and what they want to do with her and what her yandere would be capable to do for her... It's ok if you ignore it btw I love you're writing 🌸
I never actually knew Thel had another name depending on the country :0 Here's some short ideas about this concept, they aren't OVERLY yandere but I tried with what I was given. Hope you enjoy this! Darling is human.
Yandere Master Chief + The Arbiter with Darling immune to The Flood
Pairing: Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Female Darling, Obsession, Overprotective/Possessive behavior, Human experimentation, Violence mentioned, Kidnapping, Isolation, Subtle yandere themes, Dubious companionship/relationship.
Tumblr media
Master Chief/John-117
Finding out someone has an immunity to Flood spores is a great development.
Master Chief may have found you by accident, amongst a Flood infection he finds a lone human.
One no doubt traumatized due to what she's seen.
Taking you in he gets you checked out by professionals in a quarantined area.
Only to find out there's no spores in you at all.
You're an anomaly, the only known case of a human or any creature being immune to The Flood.
Even AI are corrupted by the sentient pestilence.
John no doubt sees you as valuable and useful.
Although it uneases him when scientists and doctors wish to do tests on your blood and flesh.
John may be the only one you can turn to.
He saved you... he even asks about you often.
It's strange to every other human to see the Master Chief so upset over a civilian.
Yet John cares for you, to a degree even he doesn't fully understand due to him unable to comprehend romance all that much.
He just feels like he has to protect you...
Not only are you a key to fending off The Flood, but John would hate to have you affected anymore than this.
Your mental state is already failing, while John is mostly numb to this kind of thing...
Part of him finds some pity for you due to him caring about you.
Eventually when tests are done on you and samples are taken, you're sent somewhere safe to watch your mental state.
John begins to show overprotective behavior around you.
Cortana even expresses interest/concern when John keeps asking to check on you.
Cortana even senses John's hostility towards those who work on you.
John may not see you often... but he is an important figure in your life now.
He may not know how to show affection, but he allows you to hug him.
In fact... soon he gets used to the sudden display of affection.
John has a very basic view of love.
Nothing overly intimate... he just knows he has an extreme amount of care towards you.
Your immunity can help many....
Cortana has to bring rational thought back to John at times, the Spartan always thinking about you.
John doesn't plan on letting anyone hurt you... no matter what it takes...
No humans, no Covenant, and especially not The Flood...
The Arbiter/Thel 'Vadam
This is an interesting case as we're talking about Halo 2/3 Arbiter.
Thel doesn't expect to find anyone immune to the parasite.
Even the Forerunners were not immune.
So when he hears rumors of the humans having someone who has immunity... he's skeptical.
Yet when he does find you and takes you in as essentially a hostage... he notices it.
He sees there's no sign of infection, that even when fellow Sangheili convert... Infection Forms seems to be unable to touch you.
It fascinates Thel, making him want to know more.
Let's say for this it's somewhat during the Great Schism.
Thel originally wants to tell The Prophets about you.
But as he travels with you... he begins to worry about what they'll do to you.
You're immune to The Flood... but you're human.
They could easily disect you and try to make a cure out of you.
Thel dreads the thought, ironic since he and his group are holding you hostage.
Despite such a situation... Thel still treats you with decent respect.
You may be human... but you are an important asset due to your immunity.
Thel takes time to get to know you and keeps you hidden.
Other Sangheili question his intentions, but Thel simply says you can be useful.
Thel is also overly protective of you, similar to Chief.
Eventually, when he trusts you enough and learns of The Prophet's lies, he may even be possessive towards you.
Thel hasn't had thoughts like this towards anyone, let alone a human.
He definitely apologizes for taking you hostage... but he hopes now when he teams with Chief you can be allies at the very least.
Thel and Chief understand that you are important for both of their species to survive.
So you must be protected.
Perhaps Thel even keeps contact with you during Halo 3's events.
Many human researchers look after you, Thel knows that's for the best.
Yet he often visits you, despite what human doctors and scientists say.
He makes sure you aren't hurt and even gets a bit irritated if you are away for too long.
It takes so much effort to separate him from you.
Thel takes time to come to terms with his obsession.
He isn't sure how to deal with romantic feelings towards a human.
But he adapts... and vows to protect you with his life.
Regardless on if you'll see him the same or not.
Perhaps even showing signs of courting, keeping a close eye on you all the time.
He's lost many men in battle... especially to The Flood... but you're special in many ways to him...
He refuses to lose you to anything, his most precious partner (and possible mate).

On Throwing One's Self Forward
this ramble was prompted by Time to Orbit: Unknown's ending, so yeah spoilers for that.
I enjoy, probably a more-than-normal amount, the feeling of acceleration. Breaking into a sprint, screaming down a hill on a bike, flooring the gas pedal, the roar of take-off thrust on a jet, I find all those not only exhilarating but comforting. Thus, I can't help but wonder what it must feel like to be in the Courageous, to be the Courageous as it engages its engines, screaming across the void to chase the stars. The beauty of it all...
and in general, I loved TTOU's ending. A story that was equal parts grim and joyful ends on an optimistic note and a very particular one at that. The Javelin Program was billed as a mission of hopeful exploration, of venturing into the unknown to discover what lies there, and the crew of the Courageous had finally made it come true. No more murders, no secret Antarctican project, no half-mad experimental AI. We saw the worst of humanity, but we also saw the best. Aspen's resilience, muscling through the void of space all on their own. Dinesh and Tal sticking a failing starship back together. The way everyone on the crew protected each other. Ultimately, we see that we are indeed capable of surmounting dire odds and that is cause for optimism all by itself. Even when everything is falling apart, it can yet be saved. What should have been can still be.
I am perhaps a hopeless optimist but what we see in ttou is my hope for the actual future. I dream of humanity working together to go further than ever before, of an Earth that is more vibrant than ever, of a well-taken-care-of people, of a deeper and broader knowledge of the universe. It is highly unlikely I will live to see our own Javelins set out across the stars, but I hope someone aboard one of them feels the same comfort in acceleration I do.

Taylor Swift by far is not the worst celebrity in terms of like... being bad. Her music isn't the worst--it is the definition of radio friendly. Her behaviour, in terms of celebrity bullshit, isn't the worst either (though we really shouldn't understate the ecological harm from her private jet which gets handwaved but is... truly horrific). She isn't particularly unfashionable, she definitely isn't provocative or boundary pushing.
But all of this middle-of-the-roadness is just... the embodiment of capitalism, especially White Girl Boss capitalism, and... more than that, it represents the sanitation that brings to art. The calculation. The risk aversion. And the laundering of any real feeling--that I'm not even sure she's fully capable of--into something somehow less than the sum of its parts.
It's so egregious it feels brain-numbing. It feels like a mockery of the craft. It feels like every board room decision that has excluded marginalized voices in art and every experimental song from the soundwaves embodied in one person. Everything is PR, nothing is organic. Even when she does awful things (like dating a massive racist or using her moment in Time Magazine to bring up years old beef with the fucking Kardashians instead of speaking on the GENOCIDE happening right now), it's a choice to distract from a worse thing or get another burst of attention. She can't even be awful in a way that feels authentic. There isn't a controversy that isn't also a chance to pivot her public image into something New and Fun.
She feels like a vessel for every breaking down of music as an art form happening in our capitalistic world. She's the tiktok algorithm, the pushed paid promotion on every social media feed, the pay-to-win Grammy awards all in one little bundle. She's hollow and business opportunities are what's filled inside her to keep her from floating away into the blandest possible season of the real housewives of ___ anyone has ever seen.
To me, she's a step above AI art in terms of like... human passion.
To me, she feels like the second she experiences a real human emotion, she writes down five different ways she can profit off of that or spin it into a new victim complex (which she profits from).
To me, the rare tolerable-to-good song she has is just... entirely tainted by the brand around it. Her career isn't a musical exploration. It's a brand. Her music is a plain white t shirt with a logo printed dead center, nothing else to offer.
It can't have anything else on it, no statements, no daring, because then the logo, the brand might get obscured.

I will still sometimes defend ai generated imagery usage in artwork but like. this current generation of photorealistic uncanny dream screenshot generators being used by decidedly unartistic people? It’s sooooo yawn. Couple years ago ai art was like nerdy people creating low res experimental computer hallucination shit. the art being displayed wasn’t really the prompt you set. Not directly. The art was burdening a computer with the power of sight and then slashing it open and reading its entrails like tea leaves. And the prompts you gave it would expose more and more of what the ai knew, and more importantly, what it didn’t
Now it’s just like, some idiot racist finance bro can just punch in some dumb sentence and get a creepy looking fifties style poster? Yeah obviously that’s not art, it’s noise. Snow. What’s so egregious about it is the fact that it is nowhere near capable of generating things that look natural, and people are acting like it is. If you are exposed to enough ai imagery, you can really learn to sniff it out in the wrong context, and it smells like sweet death.
If you really want to make good art with ai, don’t ever focus on beauty. Focus on completely breaking the ai and showing off what the shards look like. as the models get deeper & more advanced, it will take more and more complicated inputs to produce interesting art with it.
TLDR; good ai art isn’t showing what ai can create, but rather, what it can’t

Man, poor Dr. Chakwas. What did this woman do to get all the deadly experimental technology shoved directly into the room next to the medbay with only one puny door standing in the way?
First of all, she's got the AI core in there, which considering the galaxy seems to be under constant threat of imminent techology based destruction from one group or another, has got to be a little anxiety inducing.
Then they find some mysterious talking Geth who may or may not want to kill them all, and the crew is like, where do we stash this dude? How about right next to the medical center?
Then they recover the body of "Dr. Coré," who just nearly murdered multiple crew members of the Normandy, and they're like, "Yup, let's dump this in here completely unsupervised. That's fine." And then EDI gets involved and a fire breaks out in there and Dr. Chakwas has really gotta be like, "For fucks sake, now what?"
Like, couldn't they have found some storage space for any of this that was next door to someone with more immediate defensive capabilities, like, I don't know, the genetically perfect Krogan, the merc slaughtering vigilante, the multiple extremely powerful biotics, or even, dare I say it, the Quarian tech expert? (Though to be fair, Tali probably would have destroyed most of these if left unattended with them.)
Hell, I'm surprised they didn't shove Javik in there, too. He may not be deadly tech, but at this point you might as well just stick the only known survivor and avatar of vengeance of an ancient race in there. Dr. Chakwas is used to potential death loitering on the other side of one unlocked door.

Hi jes! What are the more specific things your demon ocs have done in order to get where there are now?
Tumblr media
cue dubious morality background montage
KARASU — Before he had the Devildom's fledgling technology sector to dedicate his free time to, he was something of a freelance advisor to various demons in the nobility. He didn't have the prestige of his career or Diavolo's favour to protect him from demons that thought he was a pushover because of his smaller stature and meek appearance. He was very capable of protecting himself, often sorting to violent means to do so. His breakthroughs developing the realm's mobile and AI technologies, and his eventual friendship with Mammon, helped give him direction and purpose.
AZRA & ZEE — Their history goes way back to when Azra first fell. Belial played a significant role in getting Azra kicked out of the Celestial Realm and located him on the outskirts of the Devildom after it happened. Once he recovered, Azra stayed with Belial while he got acclimated to life as a demon and started working for him; his unique skillset made him an excellent mercenary. That included a lot of wet work in particular. Zee was part of a legion controlled by one of Belial's business rivals, working mostly in defense and subterfuge, and when given the choice to help Azra in his latest assignment, he chose to help him and switch his allegiance to the more powerful demon lord. In return, Belial rewarded them with the start-up funds needed to get their pet project - what would later be The Fall - up and running. Azra and Belial are presently good friends, with Belial being a long-standing member of The Fall's VIP membership. In turn, Belial offers Azra (and by extension, Zee) his continued support and protection.
BELIAL — He fell a long time ago, back when the Devildom was a very different place. Much more violent and chaotic and not at all friendly to outsiders. Belial was a Cherub and his combat skills made it possibly for him to survive initially, and then he started making ambitious plans for his own ascension into the demon nobility and become an invaluable asset to the Devildom by revolutionizing the industrial sectors. If the rumors were believed, he was wild and unpredictable and a lot of demons assumed the fall cursed him with some type of insanity. He's credited with personally instigating at least one war with the Celestial Realm and a handful of unrelated skirmishes, and no, he didn't feel the least bit sorry for it. His ruthlessness paid off and he still maintains the empire he forged with blood long ago.
TENEBRIS — His history is riddled with questionable choices fueled by his own sense of inferiority, trying desperately to win his father's approval and prove his worth. He bypassed (ignored) a lot of restrictions in order to acquire an obscene amount of human souls to empower his magical strength and to fuel his experiments. He bound himself to a cursed object, nearly killing himself in the process, for the promise of more wisdom and power. His volatile history with Solomon is another proof of his failure; he is still not convinced that Solomon isn't a threat to the well-being of the Devildom and doesn't trust him. A misunderstanding led to the untimely exorcism of his friend Bathin, who has since been reborn, but the guilt of his involvement broke through his stubborn pride. He has since lived in solitude, trying desperately to find ways to atone for his mistakes, while safe-guarding Diavolo and the Devildom from afar.
FLEURETY — His backstory is simple yet gruesome. One of the royal advisors for the Devildom's scientific sector, his focus in the past was on medical experimentation and research. Although he's loyal to Diavolo and the Seven Brothers, particularly Beelzebub who shares his sin, in the past he criticized Diavolo's laws prohibiting sale or trade of humans or their components (aka body parts) for scientific purposes. In modern times, he's mostly made peace with Diavolo's vision even if it puts a damper on his personal curiosities. He is now a professor at RAD and head of the school's science department.

A Complete Explanation of the Ep7 or 8 Flashback (My Guess)
I may have put most of the pieces together about the core collapse.
-JCJ arrives in the aftermath of the mansion incident to investigate, possibly due to Tessa's parents having ties to the company.
-JCJ either captures some of the infected workers or interrogates Tessa to figure out what happened. Tessa tells them about CYN, and that she was a Zombie drone. The corporation realizes that the AS has something to do with mutated AI and begins the Cabin Fever program on Copper 9, watching as the AS and legions of Murder drones overrun world after world to harvest all life, be it biological or drone, in the name of feeding their insatiable thirst for oil.
On Copper 9 they construct Cabin fever labs and begin their experimentation. Worker drones are admitted into the program as an alterative to being disposed of or are Zombie drones that JCJ recovered. Their goal is to recreate the circumstances that led to CYN.
The experimentation involves torturing drones to damage their AI and induce the AS mutation. Once they have an infected drone, research shifts to analyzing the AS capabilities, the infection's impact on a worker drone, it's progression, and how to stop/control it. The worker's directly involved in this research wore gloves as a possible (and apparently ineffective) way to restrict their powers and low cut shirts to expose their core, providing advanced warning to the Cabin fever staff of AS infection nearing critical mass.
However, for as of yet unknown reasons the program was shut down. Perhaps they realized just how big of a nuclear bomb they were playing with by deliberately inducing Solver mutations or mistakenly believed they had hit a dead end in their research. Alternatively, the program may have been shut down because of it's success, with JCJ no longer needing the test subjects.
Regardless of the reason, all the test subjects were to be disposed of. Nori may have first tried to negotiate with the humans to avoid her and the other's disposal. If she did her pleas were unsuccessful and in her overwhelming desperation the AS succeeded in directly controlling her in the same way UZI was hijacked when trying to save N, killing as many of the Cabin Fever labs personnel as it could get it's tentacles on.
While controlled by CYN Nori's mind is temporarily synced to the hivemind and shares in it's memories. She sees the AS consuming the biomass of entire planets and converting them into oil to fuel itself and endless legions of Murder drones. Biomechanical predators the AS has created as it's soldiers.
Nori mentally defeats CYN/regains control and decides to sabotage the infrastructure JCJ was utilizing to generate geothermal energy from Copper 9's core, triggering a core collapse to wipe out all biological life on the planet in an effort to starve the AS out.
The resulting explosion creates the entrance N, V, Tessa and UZI jump down in ep6 and buries Nori underneath the snow. She is later rescued by Khan and a party of worker drones who have arrived at Camp 98.7 to investigate the blast.
Nori begs Khan to create a series of fortified outposts to shelter the workers from the Murder drones she knows the AS will send to harvest the drones' oil.
Meanwhile, the CYN-Solver is incensed at failing to corrupt Nori and fearful that JCJ's research may very well hold the key to it's defeat, even if the humans don't yet realize it. The CYN-Solver sends the Murder drones to Copper 9 with 2 goals as opposed to the usual 1.
First Task: Construct the spires by harvesting all life near their landings zones (now just drones after the core collapse)
Second task: Seek out any facilities with the Cabin Fever symbol, enter them, and burn it down. Destroy every trace of the research JCJ was conducting on the AS to prevent the creation of more drones like Nori and keep humanity in the dark.
Can't wait for Ep7 to come out and prove literally of this wrong.

My normie friend recently asked me, indignantly, why I’m enthusiastically riding Elon Musk and Trump train.
My response:
a.) I’m not actually fully on board with Trump/Musk’s agenda in totality and I for sure don’t trust Musk further than I could throw him. He seems to be playing a game wherein he purges the government of all of its useless (or worse) human resources and replaces with them equally useless (or worse) AI robots, which he will presumably get the contracts for
b.) In my decades of information immersion, I have come to understand that the United States government is hands-down the evilest organization of its scale and scope in world history, and so anyone who does anything to degrade its capabilities or even just temporarily hamper its ability to operate at full-speed is an ally by default. Enemy of my enemy, etc.
c.) I admittedly harbor a personal grudge for these soulless, gutless cretins who do and say whatever their overlords tell them to do for their government paychecks, implicating themselves in untold crimes in the process that they are too cowardly or too immoral to resist. Their pain is music to my ears, which is probably not very Christlike of me; perhaps the COVID-era Dancing Nurses videos blackened my heart permanently.
d.) Almost any federal worker worth a damn got fired or voluntarily quit when the Brandon regime mandated they take experimental mRNA gene therapies that it called “vaccines.” The remnants are the bottom-of-the-barrel Swamp creatures with no self-respect or moral compass — not actors anybody should want executing policy with a legal monopoly on force. Their purging is our blessing.

Chapter 1
As Shota trudged along the damp hallways towards another grueling day at high school, he couldn't escape the relentless whispers that followed him. It wasn't surprising - the rumours of his submissiveness toward Ryuji Namisawa, the most dominant figure within the social hierarchy, had only served to fuel the gossip mill further. What few knew, however, was that beneath Shota's gentle exterior lay a simmering reservoir of bitterness and vengeance waiting to explode.
Ever since the fateful encounter when Ryuji humiliated him publically, Shota had been scheming behind closed doors – seeking retribution through the most intimate means possible. This obsession consumed him, leaving little room for anything else in his once simple existence. To achieve this twisted goal, Shota sought out the aid of his closest confidante, Akira Ikegami. While seemingly unaffected by the cruel world around them, both boys shared a dark side that yearned for power, domination, and conquest.
In the dimly lit library corridor where they met clandestinely, Akira listened attentively as Shota divulged his plans of taking control of Ryuji's life by any means necessary. With each word spoken, his fascination grew stronger until finally, Akira found himself unable to resist participating in such an intriguing scheme.
Agreeing wholeheartedly, Akira revealed his own desires regarding Ryuji’s appearance—a fact that added further fuel to the fire igniting deep within Shota.
Their discussion continued well past sunset, the two bonding over mutual loathing for the oppressive regime that governed their lives. Together, they decided upon a course of action that would ultimately bring ruin upon those responsible for their suffering.
Their resolve only intensified when they stumbled across rumors circulating throughout the school regarding an experimental serum capable of transforming individuals into whatever physical embodiment they desired. They dubbed this mysterious potion 'the Miracle Drug.' Knowing full well how much Ryuji prized his image, Shota saw an opportunity here. If this substance could truly grant anyone their wildest fantasies, then why not seize the chance to become someone untouchable? And thus began their quest for the elusive Elixir...
Driven by adrenaline and ambition, the duo set forth on their mission to obtain the highly coveted Miracle Drug. It's not easy work. Most of information is just rumor. They decide to drive in dark web, the most deep illigal part of internet.
There you can find almost all secrets hidden and illegal things. But if got caught there, serious consequences await them. Risky as it may be, the potential rewards far outweigh the risks. After several hours spent browsing countless websites, They found some little hint about where of that "Miracle drug". A rumor about "The Dealer" who sell it. But prolblem lie here. No one have specific location about "The Dealer". Some say he at the Abadon Storage near dock, some confirm meet him at backdoor of normal clothes store. No one tell same story.
Each person give different answer. It's confusing. Shota frustrated. He worried about time too. They must act fast before other people discover this amazing Miracle drug and change body of everyone around them. Finally, they agree to investigate every lead separately. Akira would search for clues online, whilst Shota hit the streets asking questions directly to locals. Maybe combined efforts increase chances of finding The Dealer quickly. For now, they continue searching alone but promised to meet later at a pre-determined rendezvous point. The game begins.
Each day brings new challenges and opportunities, yet with each passing moment, Shota feels ever closer to achieving his ultimate objective. Akira seems equally determined, dedicating countless late nights combing through various websites dedicated to the topic. However, despite these apparent progresses, there still remained no concrete evidence pointing them in the right direction. Frustration mounts with each fruitless endeavor, yet neither gives up hope nor cease trying. Their tenacity only grows with every obstacle faced, forging a fierce determination in pursuing the path to success.
But like their activity was observed. One night during Akira dive in to reach more information. He got a private message on his phone.
"Abandon clinic, near Kanda river."
This messge not tell anything else. Akira don't even know is mysteries messge will it relate to "The Dealer" or not, who sent it, how they know his number.
All question flooded his head. Still he didn't want let go this possibility. He took courage and started driving towards that strange place. On his way, he thought hard about what might happen. How many times already he dreamt of meeting the guy who could solve all their problems and grant them supremacy. Yet he never expected reality to feel so surreal. He felt excited, fearful, and invested all at once, swallowing hard, trying to suppress the nerves running rampant inside him.
Shota doesn't need to look for answers anymore.
When he steps onto the street corner leading to the abandoned clinic, he knows beyond doubt that he's arrived at the heart of darkness itself. A cold wind blows past him, sending eerie chills down his spine. His breath forms tiny clouds as he draws closer to the entrance of the dilapidated building. As Shota stands hesitantly outside its grim walls, something tells him that fate lies concealed somewhere amidst these broken fragments of history.
He slowly opens the door creaking loudly, causing the echo to bounce off the cracked walls.
Chapter 2
Shota tentatively pushes open the door, a mix of excitement and apprehension filling him. Inside, the abandoned clinic appears larger than he initially anticipated, with its dusty hallways stretching far into the distance. Pools of moonlight filter through the dirty windows, casting grotesque shadows upon the decaying walls. Unnerved, Shota takes slow, careful steps forward, acutely aware of the silence surrounding him.
It feels like he's trespassing on forbidden ground, entering a world cloaked in mystery and danger. With each step, his pulse quickens, and his palms grow slick with sweat. He looks warily around, eyes scanning every shadow, expecting something sinister to materialize from the gloom.
Slipping past forgotten exam tables and old medical equipment littering the floor, Shota wonders whether this ominous location holds any promise of salvation.
"Shota!, there" Akira point to a desk, a chair behind it got one man sitting in the dark. His appearance was cloak in darkness. But both can guess form the shadow that, the man wear in black hooded jacket. Hide his face under the shadow.
A silent observer watching their movements closely. Slowly getting up from his seat, he starts walking towards them. Both boys instinctively retreat deeper into the shadows, their hearts thumping madly in their chests.
“Who…who are you?” stammered Shota, his voice quavering with anxiety.
“Why did you send us that cryptic message?”
As if sensing their unease, the mysterious figure stepped forward confidently, the moonlight cast upon his features, allowing them to see his silhouette clearly. A tall, broad shouldered individual shrouded in black clothing stood before them, his hooded jacket obscuring much of his facial features. Except for his piercing gaze, which seemed to penetrate straight through their souls. Intrigue melded with fear, mixed with a sense of curiosity.
Shota glanced at Akira, sharing identical expressions of astonishment and apprehension etched upon their faces. Feeling increasingly exposed by the stranger's probing scrutiny, Shota couldn't help but notice how gracefully the enveloping darkness appeared to embrace the unknown figure, heightening his air of mystique. The atmosphere hung heavy with trepidation as both boys nervously shifted their weight from foot to foot, unsure of what to expect next.
With deliberate slowness, the figure drew nearer, gradually revealing his true identity.
"You come here not to know anything about me, right? You know what you really wantand that's the reason you came looking for me," said the stranger, his tone laced with a subtle undertone of amusement.
"And you won't leave until I fulfill your request, correct?"
Both boys nodded solemnly, feeling relieved at finally reaching this decisive moment. Nervously, Shota asked, "What do we call you?"
"To others, I am known simply as The Dealer."
An unexpected thrill ran through Shota and Akira upon hearing this title. This had been the name whispered among fellow students, passed along in hushed whispers - the legendary figure they sought.
Reality dawned upon them, leaving the two boys wide-eyed in disbelief. The sudden realization that they were in the presence of such infamy left them speechless, their minds racing with the implications of the situation.
"Only one thing that i can answer that your question. No i'm not lead both of you here. It's only a your "Desire", Deepest, Darkest of your desire bring you here."
The Dealer pick 2 vials form his pocket and show it to the boys.
The contents within seemingly undistinguished, however, the power contained within those vessels rendered them priceless. "These contain a rare substance, One who take it. They soul will... no no i can't tell that. But just know that anyone who take it will turn to be a lifeless skin. A bodysuit, wait for new owner to wear. And.. Anyone who wear it will take over everything form privious owner, Appearance, ability even memory."
The Dealer continued. "Imagine having complete control over someone else's life, controlling their existence, making decisions on their behalf, living in their shoes. Isn't that enticing?"
His words resonated deeply within the boys, sparking hidden fantasies and stirring ambitions buried deep within their psyche. Their hearts raced faster, their palms grew moist again. They exchanged meaningful glances, understanding one another without uttering a single word.
"But please take note this seriouly" The Dealer add while look at the vials. "It's no turning back, One who take it, no ways to turn back to life again. May can call they just "dead". And one who wear a skin, after progress finish. It's no ways to take it off. It's will seal deal your destiny to previous owner life."
The Dealer says solemnly, drawing out the final consequences of their decision.
Looking at the vials, Shota and Akira felt a sudden surge of adrenaline course through their veins. They knew exactly what they wanted—to take control of Ryuji's life and humiliate him in return for years of mistreatment. This was the perfect opportunity to exact vengeance on their nemesis and reclaim their dignity. Akira nodded eagerly, confirming their shared resolve.
Without further hesitation, they reached toward the vials, fingers trembling slightly as they going to contact with the precious cargo. But The Dealer move them form their grab.
"Shuu.. Don't you forget, everything come with price. "
Say The Dealer, placing the vials safely away from their grasp.
Feeling frustrated yet determined, Shota pleaded earnestly, "Please, we really need this! Our lives depend on it!"
Surprised by Shota's fervent reaction, The Dealer studied him intently. Satisfied with his conviction, he gave a slight nod, conceding.
"So how much you will pay.. for them" The Dealer ask while playing with vials in his hand.
"How much willing to give up your own lives for sake of their future happiness? Remember, once taken, this potion cannot be reversed."
Inside Shota’s heart, conflicting emotions raged – fear of losing his freedom versus yearning for retribution against Ryuji. Tears welled up in his eyes as he realized the gravity of their predicament. Desperately, he looked to Akira, seeking reassurance. Seeing the uncertainty mirrored in his best friend's expression, Shota took a deep breath and made his choice.
With unwavering determination, he declared, "We'll do whatever it takes." He turned his attention back to The Dealer, resolute in his decision. "Whatever the cost may be, we're ready to accept our fates."
Akira nodded affirmatively, fully committing to Shota's resolution. His gaze held a mixture of admiration and respect for his courageous friend, recognizing the depth of their bond transcended mere friendship. Trust flowed freely between them, emboldened by their mutual goals.
"Whatever? That sound confidnce. Good... So you agree for what ever price, right?"
Said The Dealer with his cold voice. Shota gulped hard, accepting his fate. Akira nodded strongly, showing full commitment to Shota's decision. Their loyalty bound them together tightly despite being polar opposites. The Dealer studied them keenly, taking in all these details. He appreciated seeing this kind of devotion amongst humans.
"Yes!" both confirm intently.
The Dealer eye seem like got a spaking red light shine for a sec. He show a cold smile. Then he bring 2 scrolls of parchments form the desk's drawer. It's look ancient, perhaps older than many other things in the area. Like pages from book long ago lost. Both boys can see -sales contract- writing on the top of scroll while the Dealer place it on the desk.
"Read them carfully, I really mean it. This contract is very... i must say, what is write, it's seriously mean that."
Shota read carefully each line written on the ancient scroll, while trying to ignore the pit of dread forming in his stomach. After skimming the entire document, he swallowed heavily, his throat dry. There wasn't enough time to consider their options now.
Akira followed suit, poring over the arcane text meticulously. Fear lurked beneath the surface of his otherwise calm exterior. Though cautiously optimistic, they understood the risk involved in signing these documents.
He wonder, on the payment was write - Whatever - as both of them just said while ago. But how?, Noways The Dealer can write that in just a blink, He just bring scroll form the desk and place it on the desk and doesn't touch it after place them.
He looks directly at Shota, then glance at Akira. "Alright kiddo, this paper means serious business, understand?"
Shota nodded anxiously, a knot forming in his chest. He wished there was some way to retreat from this dark path, but he knew it was too late. Resolutely, he replied, "We understand."
Turning to Akira, The Dealer braced himself firmly. "Your friend here knows the risks, right?"
Akira nodded gravely, displaying a mix of unease and fortitude.
Both boys acknowledged the severity of their choices. Intense concentration filled the silence as they scanned the dense legalese, taking note of the ominous provisions detailed within the scroll. Finally, Shota signed the agreement, marking its completion. A faint trace of apprehension remained visible across his features, underscoring the weightiness of the decision he had just made. He handed the quill back to The Dealer, hoping it would signify closure on this tumultuous journey.
The Dealer checking the both scrolls, before rolls it and keep it in under his jacket.
"Remeber, strick to the contract." The Dealer, whispering add. Then he turn back and walk deep inside a darkness of abadon clinic. He slide the door close behind him. then left nothing but silent.
Akira feel so curious, he dare himself to walk in follow the Dealer. Open the door that the Dealer just closed. He open it, It's just a dark and abadon examination room, no other exit nor windows, but the Dealer gone.
Looking around, Akira notice old equipment scattered throughout the room, likely abandoned when funding dried up. Pieces of broken machinery lay strewn haphazardly about, rust eating away at their metal frames. A solitary skeleton key rested amidst the chaos, hinting at forgotten secrets buried beneath layers of dust.
Shota touch his shoulder form the back, Shota just follow him and look inside the room. His face turn grim.
"Where is him?, this room is dead end" Shota asked in fear.
"I don't know also..."
They both decide just let's it go. This "The Dealer" is also mysteries thing, same to "Miracle drug" that he belongs.
No one seems know anything about them or whereabouts. Even if people want find this person or thing, none could get any reliable information. It's like trying hunt down shadow of yourself or dreams. The only known fact is 'If you can't find 'em, maybe they will find you.'
As they returned home from their ill-fated meeting with The Dealer, Shota start to forget about that "The Dealer", his mind now focus on vials in his hand, while on the bed. He look in the vials, that contain a "Miracle drug".
His fingers were trembling with excitement and trepidation. Was this truly the power he needed to seek vengeance on Ryuji and rewrite his life forever?
Chapter 3
At next moring, Shota and Akira discussing how to work as their plot. It's not possible for now for them to get close to Ryuji, who always got people around. Also Ryuji's family is wealthy family, His Mansion even got guards take care of security. No ways 2 normal boys can breakin. So as a plan, They need help of Ryuji's best friend identity. Hiroki.
Now how to get close to Hiroki and trap him while he alone. And make him take a "Miracle drug"?
Shota thought aloud. The idea seemed plausible since Hiroki was frequently seen alone during breaks, making him easier to approach. However, Akira cautioned that such a strategy might require great tactical planning. And indeed, capturing someone without them knowing proved difficult. Nonetheless, the two teenagers resolved to put their heads together and develop a foolproof plan.
Days passed in meticulous preparation. Shota researched Ryuji's schedule, studying patterns to predict his routine.
Akira observed and analyzed potential locations for ambush, selecting an isolated spot near the school track field. During weekends, Hiroki frequented the park for jogging sessions. Together, they strategized various scenarios for trapping Hiroki alone.
While discussing the logistics, Akira brought up the issue of ensuring his cooperation without raising suspicion. Given the delicate nature of their mission, failure meant exposure of their intentions and jeopardizing the success of their ultimate plans. Hence, persuasion became crucial.
On the morning designated for execution, they arrived early at the park entrance, waiting patiently for Hiroki's arrival. Sneakily concealed among bushes, they closely monitored every passerby, narrowing their focus solely on Hiroki.
Drenched in perspiration due to mounting anticipation, Akira shifted slightly in his hiding spot, causing branches to brush against his bare arms. A sudden breeze rustled through the leaves overhead, casting eerie whispers upon the young conspirators. Nervous energy radiated off both boys, palpable as static electricity in the cool air.
Finally, Hiroki appeared. A warm ray of sunlight filtered through the thick foliage surrounding them, bathing his silhouette in a golden glow.
Hiroki approached the park entrance, looking relaxed and unfettered. Yet unbeknownst to him, danger loomed closer by the second. Unseen eyes watched his movements, calculating the precise moment to strike. Patience and timing would determine whether they achieved victory or suffered defeat.
As Akira continued monitoring the situation, Shota crept out from his hiding spot, approaching Hiroki stealthily. He was determined to carry out their sinister plan, though doubts still plagued him. Would they succeed in getting past the barriers erected by reality?
Only time would tell. Meanwhile, Shota's heart raced wildly in his chest as he neared Hiroki. Silent footsteps carried him closer to his unsuspecting prey. Each step felt heavier than the last, weighed down by the gravity of his own conscience. Gritting his teeth, he clung onto the conviction that this was necessary for retribution.
Suddenly, Akira signalled him urgently, pointing to the corner of the park ahead. Without hesitation, Shota veered toward his indicated destination.
His breath quickened in anticipation as adrenaline coursed through his veins. Heart racing, he reached the predetermined spot moments later. Ducking low behind a tree trunk, he maintained eye contact with Akira for reassurance. Seeing confirmation, Shota began his maneuvers with calculated precision. Sliding through the leaf-covered ground, he steadied himself and prepared for the final leg of their operation.
Meanwhile, Akira kept watch nearby, alert to any signs of suspicion emanating from Hiroki.
Then it's a time!.
As Hiroki approached the edge of the park entrance, unaware of the perilous game being played above him, Shota and Akira executed his well-rehearsed attack flawlessly. Swiftly emerging from their hiding spot, they swiftly subdued the unsuspecting victim.
In a matter of seconds, they bound Hiroki securely with ropes taken from his bag, rendering him immobile. Panicked yet unable to cry out, Hiroki struggled futilely against his bonds. After see who attack him. He raise his shout in angry.
"How dare you! these 2 maggots!" Hiroki remeber both prey well, as he join Ryoji on bully both of them.
But instead of answer, both boys know well they need to act quick. Even it's no people around here now, but if let's Hiroki shout. Who know what happen. Akira pick a vials form his pocket.
"This should do," he muttered, his voice tinged with apprehension. Both boys help to open Hiroki's mouth wide, he struggle to advoid no matter what this boys try to feed him. But in the end, that mysteries mixture was pour into Hiroki's mouth.
Feeling disoriented and lightheaded, Hiroki started losing consciousness. Unable to resist anymore, he succumbed to the effects of the potion. Within minutes, Hiroki fell limply into the grass below, his senses lost in a sea of oblivion.
Grim satisfaction filled Akira's gaze as he stared down at the helpless figure lying motionless before him. He glanced over at Shota, conveying a mix of triumph and relief via subtle facial expressions.
Now both of them is eye-witness of what effect of "Miracle drug".
It's start with unconcious Hiroki body slowly deflat like a ballon lost its air. His clothes start to loose since it's seem like all Hiroki muscle and bone was slowly disappear.
Seeing this transformation happening right before their eyes was horrifying and surreal. Shota couldn't believe his eyes as the once robust Hiroki transformed into a frail, boneless body – an empty shell. This sickening sight sent shivers down his spine, a combination of horror and fascination taking hold of him. Akira stood there, silent and stoic, observing the unfolding process intently.
His brow furrowed with deep concern as the realization dawned upon him - Hiroki was essentially gone. In their hands lay nothing less than absolute power over human flesh. Overwhelmed by the implications of their newfound abilities, Akira found solace in companionship. Turning towards Shota, he nodded solemnly, acknowledging the weight of their decision.
Despite the undeniably macabre setting, something else stirred within Shota - a sense of empowerment mixed with lustful curiosity.
Now they both pick every Hiroki's clothes, shoes, sock, underwear to Akira's backpack.
They took away everything that represent Hiroki, leaving the empty skin. Both boys feel some kind of shock when seeing this lifeless, emotionless body. It's hard to belive this was same person few hours ago full of spirit and strength. Now he becomes mere husk left behind. For first time, Shota feels sadness and pity about his enemy Ryuji. What had been done to him? How much pain did he experience?. That feeling makes his hatred softens.
Then Akira fold Hiroki's skinsuit, it's seem light in his hand, feel like a leather, thin leather skinsuit.
The silence between them spoke volumes as they contemplated the magnitude of their crime. Both boys were aware of the consequences awaiting them, but they had come too far to falter now. Their thirst for vengeance burned stronger than ever, fueling their determination to bring justice upon those who wronged them. Shota knew that the road ahead was treacherous, marked by deceit, betrayal, and dark desires.
Both boys looking for some hidden place in the park. For Akira will wear Hiroki's skin. Then they foundplace in the corner of the park, shielded by tall trees which provide enough cover for them.
Akira remove Hiroki's belongs form his backpack, also Hiroki's bodysuit.
"Ready?" Akira ask Shota firmly.
Shota respond with affirmative nod.
With steady hands, Akira began peeling off his clothes methodically, revealing his toned physique beneath. Clad only in briefs, he turned to face Shota, challenging him with a fierce expression. Then he take off his briefs. Akira now standing full nake. His face turn red with shy.
Akira now pick the Hiroki's skinsuit in his both and, a figure of Hiroki but flatten like a empty body suit. His finger touch it, it's just feel like tough anyone skin, just empty inside. He checking it where to start. But see no open or zip to open the skinsuit.
Akira confused how does it work?, he looks up to Shota with questioning eyes. "Isn't zippers usually used?" Akira asks, puzzled. Shota tries to recall the details from his research.
Hm may i try this? Akira thought, He move both and to a mouth of Hiroki's skinsuit. then pull it. Wonder what he see, the mouth of suit just open wide as he pull, not see a tear off sign. It's like pull a very elastic rubber.
Akira said surprised about the material of the suit. He pull it wide enough for him to put his leg in. Then he adjust his leg inside, to match with Hiroki's skin suit leg. It's prove need a bit try to fit him in each feet'stoenail.
After some struggling, Akira managed to wiggle his leg into the strange garment. Though initially loose, the fabric soon conformed to the shape of his limbs, allowing movement despite its unusual texture.
As Akira pulled the suit higher along his body, he marvelled at its flexibility. It seemed almost alive, adapting seamlessly to his form. His mind swirling with questions, Shota standing and help Akira to adjust each finger to fit with Hiroki skinsuit's finger.
Finally Akira able to pull the rest of the skinsuit covering his upper body until his shoulder, neck, and finally reaching his head. Now, it's look wried for Shota that look at Akira in Hiroki's skin. Since Hiroki build was bigger and taller. It's like Akira try to fit himself in loose clothes. But then it's happen.
A sudden surge of energy flowed through Akira, A loose skinsuit start to fill in, it's like body of Akira inside was expanding, filling the gap. In no time, no more Alien like figure try to wear human skin in MIB. Standing there is Hiroki, full nake, but it him with Akira full control inside.
While Akira wearing Hiroki's skin, his movements became fluid and precise, mimicking Hiroki's own. Yet, something felt different. An otherworldly essence clung to Akira, hinting at an uneasy alliance between two souls separated by reality. Unnerved by this connection, Akira tried to ignore it, focusing solely on mastering Hiroki's body language.
Looking deeply into Hiroki's eyes, Shota realized that he was witnessing an incredible transformation.
Not only had Akira perfectly replicated Hiroki's physicality, but he had also adopted his mannerisms, manner of speech, and even posture. Stunned, Shota stepped closer to observe Akira in astonishment.
"Unbelievable," he whispered, marveling at the likeness. His initial fear gave way to an eerie admiration. Shota could barely conceal his growing arousal at the sight of Akira dressed in Hiroki's skin.
Watching Akira effortlessly imitate Hiroki's gestures and mannerisms amplified the eroticism tenfold. Feeling the sexual chemistry intensify between them, Shota tentatively approached Akira, gripped by an insatiable urge to explore the boundaries of their relationship.
Eyes locked onto each other, neither wanting to break the momentary spell. As Shota reached out to grasp Akira's waist, their fingers intertwined briefly, heightening the anticipation coursing through their veins.
"Not yet friend" Akira said in Hiroki's voice.
His tone suddenly shifted to mirror Hiroki's playfully teasing attitude.
"We do it later when you as Ryuji, to grant us a prize."
Akira continued in Hiroki's voice, laughing devilishly.
Akira nod, he start to dressing in Hiroki's belongs.
First thing he take is Hiroki's underwear. It's tight fitting black compression pants, made from stretchy fabric designed to hug his legs snuggly. These would be perfect for his mission. Following these, he puts on Hiroki's running shoes, comfortable and durable footwear ideal for training activities. Lastly, he grabs Hiroki's tracksuit bottoms, providing comfort and freedom of movement during strenuous exercises. Finally, he selects Hiroki's track jacket, giving him protection from cold weather conditions whilst maintaining mobility. All these items were carefully chosen based on their functionality and compatibility with Akira's needs.
Standing there, no more Akira, just Hiroki.
Even though his body was inhabited by Akira's consciousness, Shota still struggled to accept this chilling transformation. Trembling slightly, he studied the familiar-looking stranger before him. The resemblance was uncanny, making Shota wonder if he should trust Akira in this new role.
Hiroki, sensing Shota's hesitation, smiled knowingly. "There's no reason to worry, my dear friend.
I won't let anything bad happen to you." Hiroki said, placing a reassuring hand on Shota's shoulder. As Shota looked down, he noticed the striking differences between Hiroki's hands and his own – the calluses on Hiroki's palms, testament to years spent practicing sports.
Intrigued by the contrast, Shota asked curiously, "What are these lines here, around your fingertips?"
Smiling playfully, Hiroki replied, "Oh, those?
Those are called 'calluses'. You develop them when you regularly participate in certain sports, like soccer, for example. When your muscles contract repeatedly, friction occurs between your hands and whatever surface you're pressing against—that creates these small bumps."
As Shota listened intently, fascinated by the explanation, he couldn't help but notice the subtle difference in Hiroki's scent compared to Akira's – a mix of fresh air, perspiration, and underlying hints of masculinity.
Mesmerized by the unique blend, Shota drew closer, attempting to identify the specific components contributing to this enthralling fragrance.
Suddenly, Hiroki suggested, "Why don't we walk around the park a little? I think it might clear our minds, helping us focus better on our plans." Shota nodded eagerly, grateful for the opportunity to spend more time in Hiroki's presence.
"You know, slowly, but constantly I start to remember everything of Hiroki's memory." Akira's add. "It's start to flash in, It's like everything he use to do, i do it experienced it myself. But my memory, feeling, everything also be there untouch."
Akira explained with serious note. "So I can understand why Hiroki likes this place so much. There’s a peaceful calmness here. And I can sense a part of him too."
The wind rustled softly through the leaves overhead, creating a serene ambiance for the duo as they strolled casually through the park. Every step they took brought forth memories and experiences etched deep within Hiroki's soul - a rich tapestry that connected past and present.
While walking side by side, Shota couldn't help but compare the real Hiroki to the impostor wearing his skin. Despite being visibly identical, there remained traces of Akira's individual personality emanating from Hiroki's altered expressions and demeanor. This revelation piqued Shota's curiosity, driving him to delve deeper into understanding their shared psychological bond.
"Let's me say, It's like while i'm Akira, I'm also can act as Hiroki in the same time like i born as Hiroki." Akika smile to his friend.
Shota feel a bit strange, Hiroki who is his tormentor. Smile warmly to him. He know that Akira inside, but it can't be help form what he encounter until now. Akira see Shota and know how he feel, He touch Shota's shoulder.
"Dont' worry, I always be Akira for you even in this skin."
Akira continue to smile, showing his confidence. Looking back towards Shota, he could detect a mixture of relief and surprise on his face. Shota didn't know exactly how to react; however, he understood that it was essential to regain his composure since Akira appeared genuine in expressing his intentions.
As they walked beneath the canopy of trees scattered throughout the park, the sunlight filtered through the branches, casting gentle patterns upon the ground below. The tranquil environment allowed both Shota and Akira to process their complex feelings and emotions surrounding this unexpected situation.
"You know, form what i learn form Hiroki's memory. I think i know how to trap Ryuji for you."
Akira say confidently, grinning maliciously. "He usually hang out at some places. Like cafés and parks near school."
"How can we guarantee he doesn't suspect anything when we interact with him?" Shota inquires skeptically.
"Suspect me! fifty maggot! how Ryuji, my best frind will suspect his dear friend, Hiroki!" Akira act as Hiroki.
"Give me some time, I will see how to lure him out of his group alone. So we can just druged him with "Miracle drug"." Akira say as himself.
Both of them say good bye for today. Akira give him his backpack full with his "Akira's clothes" since he need them no more. Said Shota can thrown it or just keep it, it's up to Shota. Then he come near Shota's ear and whisper in playful Hiroki style. "Got my breifs inside, if you interest", Shota face turn red with shy.
Before saying goodbye, Shota handed Akira his old cellphone number. "Just in case you want to talk privately.
"Oh yes, i forgot you never have Hiroki's number."
Akira laughed softly. "And please remember to avoid Ryuji's company for some days before we strike."
Shota promised solemnly, a determined glint lighting up his eyes. "Don't worry, I got this covered."
Without another word, Akira turned away and New Hiroki start his jogging toward his new home. While Shota also head back to home.
His heart racing with excitement and nervousness. Thinking about how they going to turn Ryuji into a Bodysuit soon.
Serveral day later, During this time in school. Shota feel a bit alone, His best friend not join Ryuji's group as Hiroki. He can saw them talk, joy, laugh also bully others as everyday. But seem Akira as Hiroki, help to lure Ryuji form bully Shota in various ways, naturally. So even feel alone, but it's first week in Shota's life that can stay in peace without get bully form Ryouji. In that week, teacher ask Shota as closest friend, that he know where is Akira. Since he absent for many days. Teacher also contact his family but it's seem Akira is live alone. So no one know where is he now. Act as worried, he lie to teacher that last time he meet Akira is last weekend. He can't resist to look at Hiroki that sit with another friend, pretent to talking while listening these conversation. Teacher show that he worry that something may happen to Akira but decide to wait longer before do anything.
In the weekend, finally Akira call him. Hiroki's number show on Shota's phone.
Shota hesitated for a moment before answering it."Hey, It's me." Hiroki's voice sounded distant, muffled almost.
"Hey," came Shota's reply, his heart thumping wildly in his chest. "Is everything okay?"
"It's fine, Shota i think, i have a plan for you."
Akira explain excitedly, Shota feel relieved. After many days, they can moving forward with their goal.
"As You know normally Ryuji always stay with his gang. Until he back home, which out of our reach. but tomorrow is special. It's my birthday! ah umm. acutally Hiroki's birthday. It's like a ritual. Every year me.. um i mean Hiroki. Will go hang out together, only Ryuji and me. -Alone-, So no gang, no guard, only me and Ryuji. I always one who suggest where to, so this year, I guess we need a bit special place for me and my best friend Ryuji to hang out.
Akira thought with a devilish grin.
"Where is fit our plan?" Akira asked.
Shota felt his heart race with excitement.
This could be their chance. "Okay. What do you suggest?"
Akira paused for a few moments, contemplating carefully. Finally, he spoke again. "Well, considering how isolated the area is and how rarely people visit, it would definitely offer enough privacy."
Curious, Shota inquired, "Where is this place located?"
"In the woods behind the abandoned factory near the river bank."
Shota tried to recall any such spot nearby.
"That sounds perfect...but aren't there rumors about the abandoned factory?"
Akira dismissively waved off Shota's concern. "There are always stories circulating about creepy places, especially in urban legends. Don't let superstitions stop you from pursuing your objective. Besides, everyone believes those tales anyway."
Pondering Akira's advice, Shota decided to trust his instincts. "Alright, then.
We should prepare well tonight. Gather all necessary items including the 'miracle drug'," Akira advised firmly. "Remember, timing is crucial; we must ensure Ryuji arrives late enough so that we won't miss the window of opportunity."
"At first i think i will take "Miracle drug" form you and mix in his alcohol's glass to let's him drink. While he and me alone there. But i'm not sure is it still effective by mixing alcohol. So my plan is, You follow us and hiding in a brush near by. I will keep feed Ryuji with alcohol, to drunk him. Dont' worry, he always drunk but i will make sure he will not awake when you appear."
Akira reassured Shota, adding a sinister tone to his voice. "Once we have him immobilized, administer the 'miracle drug'. And Kaboom! at last! New Ryuji will born form ash of Trash one." Akira add with Hiroki's play tone.
"Perfect, Hiroki. See you tomorrow night." Shota confirmed enthusiastically.
They follow a bit with some detail, after say goodbye, Akira cut the line. Shota close his phone.
Shota couldn't sleep despite being exhausted; his anticipation of the coming night proved too exhilarating. He lay awake staring at the ceiling, wondering whether this ambitious endeavor would actually succeed. He hoped fervently that his calculations were accurate and precise, because failure meant losing the key to fulfilling his ultimate dream – vengeance against Ryuji.
