The official trailer for Love Sick 2024 was released yesterday and it looks v cute. The original Love Sick is one of the few Thai BLs I didn't watch (I know, I know...) but apparently this is more true to the original novel. They've also added a GL side couple, and I really hope that's not just a gimmick (as adding GL pairings to draw in the wlw crowd without giving the characters any substance seems to be a bit of a trope right now).

Being (one of the) first Thai BLs broadcast to a mainstream audience, afaik the show also received a lot of backlash for showing Pun and Noh kissing - which actually lead to self-censoring in later episodes - so it's going to be really interesting to see an updated version of Love Sick largely unshackled from queerphobia.

Also, this feels like a gmmtv BL NOT made by gmmtv (I say this in the kindest way - gmmtv shows are successful for a reason but they're very marketing-oriented and not exactly known for innovation) so I'm kind of curious if I'll like this better than recent gmmtv productions.

I have been neck deep in this bbs fic lately and I think the focus has made it harder to watch Kidnap with the open mind in which I intended to watch it.

I just can't help wishing Ohm had an acting match in it, despite telling myself to stop that and just try to enjoy it for what it is, which is absolutely nonsense anyway.

do i even need to explain further? they're both amazing actors (and a part of me was hoping fluke would be scouted by boc). they would make a fantastic psychological thriller together

Yin and Poom could star in Vampire x Hunter romance....i think they would have great chemistry together

they would look good in a fluffy university romcom... something lighthearted like a 90s romcom with very less drama and big dramatic romantic gesture in the end

and yeah, i agree. it's not that i mind the same constellation of actors doing multiple series together. but if only THEY do series together?? that's kinda annoying in the long run. bc like, they're actors and as actors i wanna see them do actor things and part of that is watching how their acting is influenced by all the different colleagues they work with (whether these colleagues are male or female or any other gender)

and i really don't understand why we can't have the best of both worlds, like. it would be SO easy: have them do a series with their main cp partner every other year and then in the years in between they get to branch out and kiss other men

sometimes i cry myself to sleep at night thinking about all of the potential dynamics we're missing out on because of this. dynamics that could be so delicious to watch

but alas....
