"the only time i believe he wasn’t concealing filtering his emotions was during his fight with zarkon", there was I think another instant of him being genuine. when he lashed out a bit at allura's suggestion that haggar might be his mother, he immediately switched back to being calm and collected mid sentence when he realized who he was talking to. the way he's repressing his emotions is so unhealthy, he desperately needs smn he can confide in. he's gonna have a breakdown soon isn't he.

while fighting the white lion and after being shut out of the altean temple (but no one was around to see that)
