good night my friend! thank you for putting up a smile in my face at 1am of this saturday night
would you ever be interested in writing a bottom male reader x polnareff, or maybe even hol horse? love those two whores fr. it doesnât have to be NSFW necessarily if you arenât a fan of it, though if youâre ok with writing smut, thatâd be very good lol
I donât have the best imagination so Iâd say perhaps things get steamy during that âfake hotelâ in Pakistan, or during the Hol Horse and Boingo episode
Thank you my friend! Itâd be very cool if reader was a crusader if itâs with Hol Horse, or a Dioâs servant that is not that loyal to his lord if itâs with Polnareff
Thank you for reading this! :) Ur fiređ„đ„
I'm trying a new header which i got inspo from another writer on here that i found recently
Pronouns: The reader is referred to as a man but no exact pronouns are used after that. Physical Sex: AMAB How far are things going: Things get pretty steamy but not full-on smut. Warnings: the attraction to each other is very heavily implied which is why theyâre dogs with each other, mentions of jerkin it and the lack of it happening, mentions of tension with the other of age Crusaders, mentions of the young girl from part 3 that hol horse lead on, Hol horse is restrained for a lot of this. Rushed!! i am still getting used to writing steamy stuff Outline: The reader is traveling with the Crusaders and in the hotel in Pakistan reader discovers Hol Horse before everyone else, anger, and a mix of pent-up frustration cloud both men's minds as they confront each other. What inspired me to write how I did: I have been very much into the rise in popularity of the honda odyssey scene, I love gentle love but I am a sucker for a steamy fight (as well as I could write it anyway)
You wandered down the hotel halls, trying to find any sort of food area or vending machine, you had run out of packed snacks a few days ago and wanted to keep yourself stocked up. However, you have yet to find one or even staff who could help you. As you made your way back to the lobby, just then the bell had rung, and you felt the urge to hang back into the room, something didnât feel rightâŠ
âSo the Joestar party is on the third floor? Maybe me and my six-shooter outta pay them a visit.â The gruff voice was complemented by the scent of cigarette smoke giving you a harsh reminder of the blond man who must be in the room. The old woman made her way down the stairs with a gasp. âAh Hol horse so youâve come!â her shrill voice held some delight as he kneeled to her level and spoke.
âThat's right..â his voice was almost alluring if he hadnât threatened your lives and your friends just moments ago. As he pulled something from his pockets you felt a hand pull you back around the corner, it was a free cold, and hard hand. Quickly turning with your stand you noticed it was Silver Chariot. It covered your mouth and pointed your head to where Polnareff was on the stairs, he made a shushing motion with his hands as Silver began to lift you while climbing the wall you had just hidden behind. Your stand began to help up the wall and just in time just as Enyaba ran into the room crying. Hol Horse follows behind her.Â
Each stand pressed you against the wall as your hands reached for your mouth to hush any sounds you might make. The conversation between the two was hard to follow as the piecing voice of Enyaba was hard to focus on. As they spoke you heard Enyaba mention her son and being friends with Hol HorseâŠWere the two of them working together? Was Enyaba a stand user of her own?
Glancing back to the duo talking very loudly it truly dawned on you how fucked you were. You couldnât stay this high on the ceiling for much longer as both stands will get tired soon. And eventually, someone will look up.
Thatâs when a saving grace came as Polnareffâs voice rang out with the small bell on the lobby counter. Hol horse ran deeper into the room as Enyaba ran out to help. Silver Chariot floated you down to the ground as your stand materialized behind Hol horse grabbing his arms against his torso and holding an iron grip on him. His face twisted in shock as he stared up at you walking over.Â
He coughed as your looming figure practically had a darkness radiating. âHey! Hey, Iâm sure a smart man like you is willing to work out a deal, I can give you any info you want just, ya know let me out! Youâre a lot stronger than I thoughtâŠâ his voice trailed off as he struggled against your stand. âYou are a coward Hol Horse! Using any person possible to get what you want!â Your stand squeezed him tighter as you remembered watching him ride away on a horse from all of you after leaving behind the young girl who sacrificed herself for him.
He had thrown out comments about wishing to see you again that made you flush with anger at the coward in front of you. âWhat kind of deal cowboy? Just what do you think will convince me to let you go still intact?â Hol Horse stuck his leg out attempting to pull you closer, âI just wanna make you feel good, (Name)!â He tilted his head to the side scanning your face, âWon't you let me?â His voice was husky as he did his best to lean forward to your face. You scoffed, âAs if I would enjoy myself with a coward like you, you seem like a selfish lover anyway.â Hol horse's face became angry before a smile began to spread.
âBut youâre entertaining this whole idea anyway, it's been almost a month of not getting any kind of attention, especially the special attention I know youâve been needin'.â Your body felt hot with anger and embarrassment he was right, sharing rooms with at least one other person the past few weeks had cut your alone time down significantly. While you threw flirty comments around with Polnareff and Avdol nothing would progress past long stare-downs in shared hotel rooms. âYou wouldnât keep toying with the idea of being with me if you didnât need it.â Neither of you could admit to wanting the other.Â
âYou know you keep, ugh tightening your stand but Iâm likinâ it.â In a moment of disgust, your stands grip on the man loosened and he took his chance to leap at you. You both fly backwards landing on the ground with Hol horse landing on top of you. His lips stuck to yours and just as quickly his hands went up your shirt caressing your sides. You practically melted at the contact youâve gone a long time without someone else touching you besides getting punched a few times this trip. His hands had slight calluses that slightly scratched your skin.Â
Your hands tangled in his dirty blond hair as your core burned at the feeling of his hard-on pressed against yours. Everything felt electric the hate you had for the man on top of you made everything so much more intense. His hips moved against yours as he pulled away, âCome on, a man like you deserves to just let go.â The movement got harsher as you wrapped your legs around his hips, you wanted to be selfish and feel more and more. Once more a yell could be heard as Polnareff called your name as he ran to the back room you were in. Just as fast as everything started Hol Horse grabbed his hat and made a break for a second side door you had missed.Â
âSorry there sweetheart! Maybe next time youâll get me in full glory!â frustration bubbled in your stomach as Polnareff finally made it to the room and joined your side with a look of confusion.

Hargin
"maggot princess" © @bowelfly, accessed here
[The hargin is a monster I first heard of recently, thanks to @abominationimperatrix. They're found in the stories of Gilgit, a province of west Asia currently belonging to Pakistan. The idea of a shapeshifting, charming, monster bride being a giant maggot is delightful to me, a novel twist on the various swan maidens and selkies of Western Europe. As is the idea that bioaccumulation can result in scavengers becoming magical. In Gilgit, the ibex is considered a fairy animal, and so maggots that eat a dead ibex are those that turn into hargins. I expanded it to fey of all kinds.
Also, how cool is the art? @bowelfly knocked this one out of the park. I sent them references for traditional Gilgit-Baltistan clothing.]
Hargin CR 3 CN Fey This creature has the body of a woman, but the head of a giant maggot. Her neck stretches to impossible lengths. She wears fine robes and carries a stringed instrument.
A hargin is a fey creature that becomes a fey creature through unusual meansâits diet. Hargins begin their lives as the ordinary maggots of flies, laid in carrion. The difference is that the carrion is a fey creature of some kind. By eating flesh imbued with fey energy, the maggots themselves become dimly magical and sapient, and then rapidly turn on each other. By the time one had devoured its peers, it has grown to monstrous proportions, and then molts not into a fly pupa, but into a humanoid hargin. The hargin is capable of changing its shape, and then proceeds to enter humanoid society in disguise.
Hargins differ in terms of their alignments, but most have acquisitive personalities. A hargin typically wishes to gain some sort of power, prestige or fame in their humanoid form, or barring that, get rich. Some hargins turn to performance, others to theft, and others seduce their way into the households of the nobility. Although hargins are somewhat naĂŻve, they are charming and capable, and have a handful of magical tricks to assist them in either social climbing or larceny. They spend almost all of their lives in disguise, returning to their monstrous forms only in order to defend themselves. Â Hargins are more likely to view other members of their own species as threats than allies. Hargins are sexually compatible with the humanoids they mimic, and some fey or aberrant blooded sorcerers have a hargin ancestor somewhere on their family tree.
In combat, a hargin uses its bite attack as its primary weapon, but may carry weapons to defend itself as a humanoid in order to not blow its cover. Its mandibles ooze digestive acids, and it can concentrate them into a caustic bolus. A harginâs neck can extend impossibly far, even in humanoid form, and they are sometimes mistaken for rokurokubi due to this ability.

A creature struck takes 2d6 points of acid damage. Extensible Neck (Ex) A hargin has fifteen feet of reach with its bite attack, and treats cover as being one step less for the purposes of making attacks with her bite attack or acid spit. A hargin may extend its neck in order to make an acid spit attack, effectively increasing its range to 45 feet. A hargin may extend its neck even in humanoid form.

Considered the Father of the Indian Nation, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869 â 1948), aka Bapu (a Gujarati endearment for âfatherâ), was a lawyer, anti-colonial nationalist and political ethicist whose use of nonviolent resistance led the successful campaign for Indian independence from British rule and inspired worldwide movements for civil rights and freedom.
Assuming leadership of the Indian National Congress in 1921, Gandhi led nationwide campaigns for easing poverty, building religious and ethnic amity, ending untouchability and, above all, achieving self-rule. He famously began to live in a self-sufficient residential community, to eat simple food, and undertake long fasts as a means of both introspection and political protest. Bringing anti-colonial nationalism to the common Indians, he called for the British to quit India in 1942 and was imprisoned several times for many years in both South Africa and India. In August 1947, Britain granted independence, but the British Indian Empire was partitioned into two dominions, a Hindu-majority India and a Muslim-majority Pakistan, leading to extensive religious violence throughout the country.
Gandhi visited Punjab and Bengal, the primary affected areas, attempting to alleviate misery and, in the months that followed, he famously undertook several hunger strikes to halt the religious violence, with his final fast beginning in Delhi at age 78 on January 12, 1948. He was murdered a few weeks later by a militant Hindu nationalist unhappy about Gandhiâs defense of both Pakistan and Indian Muslims.
Gandhiâs first job was with a Jewish law firm in Johannesburg and some of his closest friends and confidants, both in Johannesburg (1893 â 1914) and later in India, were Jews. He lauded the Jewish spirituality, high standards, and sense of community and, after visiting the synagogue in Johannesburg during Pesach, he expressed his culinary delight with âthe Jewsâ unleavened cakesâ and wrote that âyou can almost say that I was keeping Passover with my Jewish friends.â
He, in turn, was always held in high regard by the Jews. In 1931, he met with members of Bene Israel to discuss their participation in the nationalist movement, but he suggested that they join in support of the movement only after India won its independence from the British, urging them not to become involved in politics before then because they constitute such a small minority.
The Bene Israel, sometimes referred to as the âNative Jewâ caste, are a community of Jews in India said to be the descendants of one of the Ten Lost Tribes that settled in India many centuries ago. Starting in the second half of the 18th century after learning about normative Sephardic Judaism, they migrated to cities throughout British India, primarily to Mumbai, where they opened their first synagogue in 1796 and became prominent within the British colonial government.
Exhibited here is the editorial on the front page of the February 1948 issue of Schema that was dedicated to mourning Gandhiâs loss. After waxing enthusiastic about the greatness â indeed, the near deity status â of the late Indian leader, the editorial addresses Gandhiâs contribution to the Jewish community:
What does the passing of this great saint and believer in the universality of true religion mean to our small community in India? Our debt to him is no less unquestionable. Apart from the general principles of morality on which he based his every thought and action and which afforded all communities including ourselves the protection of the rock-like foundations of the true freedom and self-expression, he gave concrete expression to his sympathy for our cause and our sufferings on numerous occasions and in no uncertain manner. We are proud and grateful to place on record that he had the greatest respect and admiration for the Jewish people and all they symbolized â for he did not himself stand for what they had stood through centuries of persecution and suffering â the eternal principles of justice and morality against the savage hand of tyranny, the belief that the spirit shall triumph over the sword.
Indeed, Gandhi sympathized with Jews and saw their plight as similar to that of many Indians:Â
My sympathies are all with the Jews. I have known them intimately in South Africa. Some of them became life-long companions. Through these friends I came to learn much of their age-long persecution. They have been the untouchables of Christianity. The parallel between their treatment by Christians and the treatment of untouchables by Hindus is very close. Religious sanction has been invoked in both cases for the justification of the inhuman treatment meted out to them. Apart from the friendships, therefore, there is the more common universal reason for my sympathy for the Jews⊠There the Indians occupied precisely the same place that the Jews occupy in Germany⊠A fundamental clause in the Transvaal constitution was that there should be no equality between the whites and colored races including Asiatics. There, too, the Indians were consigned to ghettos described as locations. The other disabilities were almost of the same type as those of the Jews in Germany. The Indians, a mere handful, resorted to satyagraha [nonviolent resistance] without any backing from the world outside or the Indian GovernmentâŠ
During a massive review of millions of its archival documents in 2019, the National Library of Israel unearthed a letter handwritten by Gandhi on September 1, 1939 â the very day that World War II broke out in Europe â in which he sends Rosh Hashanah greetings to Avraham E. Shohet, a local Jewish Indian official:
You have my good wishes for your new year. How I wish the new year may mean an era of peace for your afflicted people.
Shohet was head of the Bombay Zionist Association (BZA), president of the Bombay branch of Keren Hayesod, the Bombay city officeâs Zionist organization, and editor of The Jewish Advocate, the official publication of the BZA and the Jewish National Fund in India.
But did Gandhi deserve the veneration and affection of the worldâs Jews? The answer to that question is far from black and white.
It is doubtful that most Jews would consider Gandhi a great friend, or even a moral person, when they learn that, notwithstanding his characterization of Hitler as the ultimate in evil and as a man with whom negotiation is impossible, his solution to the Holocaust was that Jews should happily accept their fate and proudly submit themselves to mass extermination . . . which he readily admits would be the inevitable result of the Jews wielding âpeaceful resistanceâ against the Nazis.
In a seminal letter he wrote from Segaon (a village in the Khargone district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh where he established an ashram and settled) â which he published as The Jews in the November 26, 1938 issue of the Harijan newspaper â Gandhi argues that âthe German persecution of the Jews seems to have no parallel in history;â that âthe tyrants of old never went so mad as Hitler seems to have gone;â and that âhe is doing it with religious zeal.â He writes that âIf there ever could be a justifiable war in the name of and for humanity, a war against Germany, to prevent the wanton persecution of a whole race, would be completely justified.â
However, because he does not believe in war under any circumstances, he concludes that âthere can be no war against Germany, even for such a crime as is being committed against the Jews:â
Can the Jews resist this organized and shameless persecution? Is there a way to preserve their self-respect, and not to feel helpless, neglected and forlorn? I submit there is. No person who has faith in a living G-d need feel helpless or forlorn. Tetragrammaton of the Jews is a G-d more personal than the G-d of the Christians, the Mussalmans or the Hindus, though as a matter of fact in essence, He is common to all and one without a second and beyond description. But as the Jews attribute personality to G-d and believe that He rules every action of theirs, they ought not to feel helpless. If I were a Jew and were born in Germany and earned my livelihood there, I would claim Germany as my home even as the tallest gentile German may, and challenge him to shoot me or cast me in the dungeon; I would refuse to be expelled or to submit to discriminating treatment. And for doing this, I should not wait for the fellow Jews to join me in civil resistance but would have confidence that in the end the rest are bound to follow my example. If one Jew or all the Jews were to accept the prescription here offered, he or they cannot be worse off than now. And suffering voluntarily undergone will bring them an inner strength and joy which no number of resolutions of sympathy passed in the world outside Germany can. Indeed, even if Britain, France and America were to declare hostilities against Germany, they can bring no inner joy, no inner strength. The calculated violence of Hitler may even result in a general massacre of the Jews by way of his first answer to the declaration of such hostilities. But if the Jewish mind could be prepared for voluntary suffering, even the massacre I have imagined could be turned into a day of thanksgiving and joy that Tetragrammaton had wrought deliverance of the race even at the hands of the tyrant. For to the G-d fearing, death has no terror. It is a joyful sleep to be followed by a waking that would be all the more refreshing for the long sleep.
Gandhi even went so far as to send two conciliatory letters to Hitler, the first on July 23, 1939 and the second on December 24, 1940, in which he addressed the Fuhrer as a âfriendâ and wrote that he did not believe the German dictator was the âmonsterâ that his opponents described. He raised the issue with Hitler of the Germansâ treatment of Poland and the Czechs â with nary a mention of the Jews â and he asked his closest friend, the Jewish Zionist Hermann Kallenbach (more on him later), to pray for Hitler.
Even after World War II, Gandhi essentially remained silent on the Holocaust and, most inconceivably, he spoke out against the âwickednessâ of the trials of Nazi war criminals. In a June 1947 interview with his biographer, Louis Fischer, he said:
Hitler killed five million Jews [the correct number, of course, is six million Jews, but whatâs another million Jews more or less?]. It is the greatest crime of our time. But the Jews should have offered themselves to the butcherâs knife. They should have thrown themselves into the sea from cliffs⊠It would have aroused the world and the people of Germany⊠As it is they succumbed anyway in their millions.
Gandhi defenders argue that, in urging Jews to accept martyrdom during the Shoah, he was only being consistent with his core values of pacifism and peaceful resistance and that this was not fatalism but, rather, an assertion of will so strong that it would deny the Nazis a sense of ethical and moral superiority over their victims. This position has not only been characterized as passivity bordering on cowardice but, I would argue, a naivete that is stunning, dangerous, and disgusting. Moreover, as I discuss in more detail below, Gandhiâs views of the Jews, the Holocaust, and Eretz Yisrael exhibit a sharp and indisputable double standard that is the very antithesis of âconsistencyâ
Perhaps the Jerusalem Post said it best: in an article titled Repudiating Gandhian Pacifism in the Face of Mass Murder in 2016, the Post summarized Gandhiâs philosophy regarding the Shoah as âwhen some evil regime or group wants to attack and kill you, the worst thing you can do is try to run and hide to save your life.â No matter how much Gandhi may have sympathized with the Jewish condition, he was oblivious to Jewish survival.
Thus, in a 1939 response to Gandhiâs 1938 article, Martin Buber, the renowned Austrian Jewish and Israeli philosopher who had made aliyah from Germany only a short time earlier, wrote what should have been obvious to any rational person, let alone to a national leader and internationally-respected philosopher like Gandhi:
The five years I myself spent under the present [Nazi] regime, I observed many instances of genuine satyagraha [nonviolent resistance] among the Jews, instances showing a strength of spirit in which there was no question of bartering their rights or of being bowed down, and where neither force nor cunning was used to escape the consequences of their behavior. Such actions, however, exerted apparently not the slightest influence on their opponents. All honor indeed to those who displayed such strength of soul! But I cannot recognize herein a watchword for the general behavior of German Jews that might seem suited to exert an influence on the oppressed or on the world. An effective stand in the form of non-violence may be taken against unfeeling human beings in the hope of gradually bringing them to their senses; but a diabolic universal steamroller cannot thus be withstood.
Moreover, Gandhi extended his opposition to Jewish self-defense against Nazi genocide by resolutely opposing their right to go to Eretz Yisrael, whether to establish a Jewish State there or even to simply save themselves from death at the hand of the Third Reich. He argued that the mere Jewish agitation for a national home would provide justification to the Nazis to expel them â as if Hitler needed any additional excuses â and that the Jews should engage only in non-violence against the Arabs and âoffer themselves to be shot or thrown into the Dead Sea without raising a little finger against them.â In March 1921, he issued a statement supporting the proposition that Muslims must retain control over Eretz Yisrael.
In his 1938 article, Gandhi â almost unbelievably â writes:
Several letters have been received by me asking me to declare my views about the Arab-Jew question in Palestine and the persecution of the Jews in Germany. It is not without hesitation that I venture to offer my views on this very difficult question⊠[After expressing sympathy for the Jewish plight:] But my sympathy does not blind me to the requirements of justice. The cry for the national home for the Jews does not make much appeal to me. The sanction for it is sought in the Bible and the tenacity with which the Jews have hankered after return to Palestine. [But] why should they not, like other peoples of the earth, make that country their home where they are born and where they earn their livelihood? Palestine belongs to the Arabs in the same sense that England belongs to the English or France to the French. It is wrong and inhuman to impose the Jews on the Arabs. What is going on in Palestine today cannot be justified by any moral code of conduct. The mandates have no sanction but that of the last war. Surely it would be a crime against humanity to reduce the proud Arabs so that Palestine can be restored to the Jews partly or wholly as their national home. The nobler course would be to insist on a just treatment of the Jews wherever they are born and bred. The Jews born in France are French. If the Jews have no home but Palestine, will they relish the idea of being forced to leave the other parts of the world in which they are settled? Or do they want a double home where they can remain at will? This cry for the national home affords a colorable justification for the German expulsion of the Jews.
Not surprisingly, in the wake of its October 7th butchery, this quote has been resurrected by Hamas, and its supporters around the world who argue that Gandhi, the great statesman and man of peace, was clear that âPalestineâ belongs to the Arabs and that the Jews are, at best, interlopers.
In his article, Gandhi concludes:
And now a word to the Jews in Palestine. I have no doubt that they are going about it in the wrong way. The Palestine of the Biblical conception is not a geographical tract. It is in their hearts. But if they must look to the Palestine of geography as their national home, it is wrong to enter it under the shadow of the British gun. A religious act cannot be performed with the aid of the bayonet or the bomb. They can settle in Palestine only by the goodwill of the Arabs. They should seek to convert the Arab heart. The same G-d rules the Arab heart who rules the Jewish heart. They can offer satyagraha in front of the Arabs and offer themselves to be shot or thrown into the Dead Sea without raising a little finger against them. They will find the world opinion in their favor in their religious aspiration. There are hundreds of ways of reasoning with the Arabs, if they will only discard the help of the British bayonet. As it is, they are co-shares with the British in despoiling a people who have done no wrong to them⊠Let the Jews who claim to be the chosen race prove their title by choosing the way of non-violence for vindicating their position on earth.
Thus, argued Gandhi, the âreal Jerusalemâ was the spiritual one and, as such, Zionism was unnecessary and Jews could practice their faith in their native countries â including, as we have seen, Nazi Germany.
In Buberâs 1939 correspondence to Gandhi cited above, he noted that Arabs had themselves come to possess Eretz Yisrael âsurely by conquest and, in fact, a conquest by settlement,â and he appealed to Gandhi to recognize the responsibility for violence and unrest that was shared by Palestinian Arabs, but Gandhi would not yield. Similarly, Moshe Shertok, as head of the Jewish Agency (later to become Prime Minster of Israel as Moshe Sharett), also asked Gandhi to raise his authoritative voice in favor of a Jewish autonomous government in Eretz Yisrael, but he refused.
Statue of Gandhi and Kallenbach outside Rusne synagogue in Lithuania (2015).
Moreover, A. E. Shohet, the leader of the Indian-Jewish community and Gandhiâs good Jewish friend, reached out to Hermann Kallenbach, a wealthy Jewish Zionist architect and carpenter to whom Gandhi referred as his âsoulmate,â to intervene with Gandhi on behalf of Zionism. In May 1910, Kallenbach had funded the establishment of Tolstoy Farm, the South African prototype for Gandhiâs ashram, where the two had lived together; Ghandi once wrote to him âYour portrait (the only one) stands on the mantelpiece in my room . . . even if I wanted to dismiss you from my thoughts, I could not do it.â
How to explain Gandhiâs outrageous views on the Holocaust and Israel? It certainly wasnât due to antisemitism, since he loved all people and peoples â including, as we have seen, Nazis and terrorists â and he often spoke out in support of Jews. Some authorities suggest that he adopted his views on Jews because he understood Judaism only through the lens of Christianity and that he reduced Judaism to a religion without considering its nationalistic character and, as such, he excluded Zionism from the Jewish identity. Moreover, his closest Jewish friends, including Kallenbach and Sonya Schlesin, were all universalists largely ignorant of rabbinical philosophy and law and post-Biblical rituals and customs; thus, for example, Gandhi condemned the Bibleâs âeye for an eyeâ rule for its inhumanity and violence, wholly unaware of the oral law teaching that the Biblically proscribed punishment was never meant to be interpreted literally but, rather, that the tortfeasor must compensate his victim through the payment of financial damages.
Another proffered explanation for Gandhiâs anti-Zionism was that, although he was well-informed about the special Jewish relationship with Eretz Yisrael from Kallenbach, Schlesin, and others, his pro-Arab bias and battle against British colonialism and imperialism trumped all other considerations so, unlike every other people, religion, and nationality, he chose to disregard Jewish singularity. Moreover, his desire to placate Hindus and Muslims and keep them united in India surely colored his attitude towards Zionism. In a manifestly undeniable double standard, he held Jews to the highest possible spiritual standard while judging the âproud Arabsâ by the âaccepted canons of right and wrong.â
Double standards seem to be the rule, rather than the exception, when it came Gandhiâs attitude to the Jews. As another example â in what can only be characterized as a truly monstrous double standard â he acknowledged that nonviolence was not possible for the Polish people in 1939 and praised their violent resistance to Hitler, at the same time he was telling the Jews to go peacefully and joyfully to death by their Nazi executioners. He was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize five times, but never won; yet, he continues to be admired by many Jewish leaders, including David Ben Gurion, who hung a photograph of only one person in his bedroom: Mahatma Gandhi.

My grandfather, my DadaJi, passed this Saturday, 10/5/2024. I'm at his home now, surrounded by extended family whose names I don't remember, waiting for the funeral to start.
My dad is hurting, bad. He's quiet, withdrawing, and trying to suppress how easily irritated he is. But he's fighting to make sure he's not dumping that on anyone he loves.
My DadiJi, my grandmother, is so so so skinny. She's going to go live with her brother, I think.
DadaJi was so kind. He loved me and my siblings and my cousins so much. He always made time for us, and the way he treated the woman who helped clean his house speaks to his character. Her name is Dora, and I asked how she was doing, and she got choked up. She loved him, she said.
He was an immigrant from India, born in a city that was India until it became Pakistan, and he walked and was carried across the new border as a child. He lost his twin siblings in the crossing.
He and my blood grandmother moved to the US when my dad was 5, escaping another war. When my dad was 20, his mom, my blood grandmother, died of cancer.
Later, about a decade ago, my uncle, my dad's younger brother, died in a plane crash.
Through it all, my grandfather was steady and calm and loving. He was a rock, always looking out for the people around him as long as I knew him.
He was in my life since I was little, and he was always a figure, an archetype in my life rather than a whole person? He was just my DadaJi. He saved up his whole life to put his kids and grandkids through college, and I spent my college years afraid of disappointing him. But when I failed out sophomore year, and had to take a year off, he just told me to recover and do my best. I went to live with him and my DadiJi that year, and he was delighted to have me around. We would go out for dinner and, when I got curious, he would tell me about Hinduism. I didn't retain it, but he made time for me and told me about this important part of his world. His world was religion and family, in the evening of his life.
We would play chess. I always lost really bad, but it was nice, anyway.
He worked for AT&T, I discovered, doing something programing-adjacent I think. I always knew him to be very tech-savvy as my grandfather, with an awesome computer he let me play games on as a kid when I visited.
I know he and Dad had some trouble when Dad was in college, something about disowning him if he didn't become a doctor, and that Dad didn't come home while his mother was dying. But they'd worked it out by the time I came along, and I only heard bits and pieces, not wanting to dig too deep into things that seemed painful.
'dadaji disowned dad, then went away and reevaluated, came back 8 weeks later and let it go. one of the traits I see in him and in dad is the one to reevaluate what work they need to do on themselves to keep the people in their lives who are important to them to their fullest capacity rather than just in name. one of the strongest things Ive seen him do again and again' - my sister, when I showed her this draft
I didn't visit as often as I could have, should have, while he was dying. I kept putting it off, not wanting to have to entertain the old people, not admitting to myself I didn't want to see them fading. I'm working on forgiving myself for that.
I asked my DadaJi for traditional masculine Indian clothes, after I came out as trans, but didn't phrase it right, and he gave me a western suit jacket. It's a little big, but I can alter it to fit.
DadaJi wasn't perfect. He tried to tell me why it doesn't make sense to be trans, and we had a long, civil, saddening conversation about it. That was the last real conversation I had with him - after that, we just did family zoom calls just making small talk.
He never used my pronouns, but he did switch to using my chosen name.
I love him so much.
I didn't expect the grief to hit me so strongly. I thought we weren't that close. But flying in for the funeral, I couldn't shake the thought that he would be there when I got to his house.
He had a small altar with pictures of...religious figures? Ancestors? I'm not sure. But the pictures were framed and then draped in flowers. I'm going to do the same for him, because it would make him feel loved.
We're on the way to the funeral today. It'll be an open casket, and he'll be cremated at the end. I'm pretty sure he believed in reincarnation. My wish for him in his next life is that he stays kind, loving, and loved.

National Farmers Day
Without farmers, weâd all starve. Visit a farmerâs market, take a trip to a farm, or reenact how farmers used to live and grow with old-fashioned tools.
Some might say that modern society was built upon the rugged shoulders and stubborn personalities of farmers from around the world. Because without those who dedicate their lives to growing food, where would everyone else be?Â
So, it only makes sense that a time should be set aside to celebrate their contributions and all that they have provided (and indeed continue to provide) to the world. National Farmers Day intends to do just this!
History of National Farmers Day
Due to the fact that farmers have been honored for centuries, the roots of this day are likely to go back very far and with a wide variety of traditions! Many different countries have set aside dates for celebrating National Farmers Day at different times of the year. For instance, in India and Pakistan a day for farmers is celebrated in December, while South Korea celebrates in November and Zambia in October.
In the United States, some people have celebrated a time in late October as âOld Farmerâs Dayâ, with a festival located in Loranger, Louisiana that reenacts the farmersâ way of life from before technology changed it so much. Other communities may host their own events and activities that offer a nod to the important work that farmers do to put food on the table of families everywhere.
National Farmers Day offers a delightful time in the harvest season of the autumn to show some appreciation and love for those folks who toil and work to provide food for those in the communities around them. Whether celebrating small micro farmers who grow or local organic dairy farmers, this is an ideal opportunity to make a big deal out of something so important as farmers!
How to Celebrate National Farmers Day
Celebrating National Farmers Day can take on a few different forms but may partially depend on where a person lives. Have some fun making plans and celebrating these salt of the earth folks with some of these ideas:
Thank a Farmer
One of the best ways to celebrate National Farmers Day would be to begin by thanking a farmer! For those who live in a rural community, this might just mean visiting a friend who is a farmer and wishing them a happy National Farmers Day! Or, head on over to a local farmers market in the area and let the growers there know how much their hard work and effort is appreciated on this important day.
Visit a Working Farm
Those who live in or near the country might want to observe National Farmers Day by participating in activities that reenact the ancient methods of farming before the invention of electricity and modern equipment. Throughout the US, many different communities can be found that allow visitors to get a glance into the past, including places like:
Conner Prairie Farm in Fishers, Indiana
Living History Farm in Urbandale, Iowa
Oliver Kelley Farm in Elk River, Minnesota
Howard County Living Farm Heritage Museum in West Friendship, Maryland
Join in on Farming Events and Activities
Many times, a state fair is a place where farmers will join together to show off their produce or animals. There may even be some local festivals to attend that are centered around local produce like a pumpkin festival, a corn festival or an apple festival. These types of gatherings are often places where a variety of types of local farmers can be found.
City dwellers can choose to celebrate National Farmers Day by taking a trip to a rural area and visiting a local farmersâ market. There is no doubt that the fruits and vegetables encountered alone should make up for the drive!
Learn Interesting Facts About Farming
National Farmers Day is a perfect time to brush up on some facts and statistics related to the appreciation of farming. Check out some of these:
Around 97% of farms in the US are family owned and operated.
In 2019, more than 22 million US jobs were related to agriculture and food.
Only 2% of the American population are the farmers who feed everyone else!

pathaan thoughts
(spoilers under the cut)
man bun.... man bun srk.... srk with long hair... srk hair bun.....
some of the lighting and shots were genuinely so beautiful! the moscow hotel room scene was on my gif list instantly it was just incredible
deepika padukone is so dangerously hot.................. she was fantastic in the action bits too like genuinely
i really like that you could feel the interest that all of the characters had in each other, either as people or as figures or whatever
srk was charming as all hell!!! action is not what i associate with him but he pulled it off, and his more charming moments were absolutely fantastic. the bit where rubina was beating people up and he was just like oooh! ah! delightful. 10/10
i did not really care about the boss woman lol. or her boss dude. who cares. give me back the sexually charged action scenes and taunting and staring and-
actually srk and deepika always have such fantastic chemistry and this really capitalised on it. but also gave me a moment of realising OSO was 15 years ago. what the Fuck.
deepika short hair......... deepika fighting........ ma'am your arms.... deepika machine gun.....
one of my friends was like 'do you really like action movies???' and all i could think was 'i don't watch action movies for the action i watch them for the eye candy' and GOD this one delivered
they would've gone for the pathaan/jim to round out the film if they weren't cowards. however jim doesnt give a single fuck about rubina. as it should be probably
the orb thing was straight out of a mission impossible movie wasnt it ??? the one with henry cavill ??????
also what was that falcon and the winter soldier moment lmaoooooo. srk even has the hair
i was genuinely surprised when tiger showed up ????? like i saw people talking about spyverse or w/e but i thought it was fans fucking around ??? and they kept bringing up kabir from war???? hi hello what.
ive complained about multiverses before but like.....i am only a simple woman. and i would deeply enjoy seeing some of these guys work together again. how long has it been since srk and hrithik were onscreen together? salman at least had his cameo in OSO . no complaints from me. until i think of some complaints to make.
also if this means deepika and katrina acting together i will literally asceeeeeeend
my cat says 87u768. he has not yet seen the film
ive said it before and i'll say it again: rip jim too sexy to live. i fully don't think he died actually like bollywood movies keep killing john abraham's sexy villain via falling off cliffs and i refuse to believe he's dead every time. no death until the body is burned baby. hope his next plot is even MORE evil <3
eta: AND the background music they played around jim was VERY good. i'd love to get my hands on that actually
serious serious thoughts time now:
the politics of this movie were genuinely atrocious - probably no worse than every other spy movie, but i don't watch most of them, so it's just kind of . what the fuck . what the hell. like i think at some point it's so dramatised there's nothing to say about it but "this is full of shit" but ...i don't even know. everything about the pakistan / kashmir thing was so deeply awful
it's even worse when it's like "oh our people will also do terrible things but that's for THE CAUSE" or whatever. fuck off. you were torturing one agent who helped you, left another for dead, and would've killed a third if not for personal loyalty. and when agents or spies or whatever remain all "oh ask what you can do for your country" it's like. jesus fucking christ. the answer is nothing.
this is why raazi is the only movie ever
#jui speaks#bollywood#pathaan#pathaan spoilers#serious thoughts aside i had a blast the film was supremely watchable and the cast killed#thats all I needed from it anyway

Ind vs Pakistan 2023 Asia Cup Super 4
 Cricket Journals
An account of Virat Kohliâs 77th century :
India vs Pakistan, what is it, it is an emotion attached to all the cricket supporters around the world, be it India, Pakistan, England, or Australia, it is cherished and remembered all over the world. And what does it feel like when your favorite player scores a century in that match, well it feels delighted, a moment to cherish, celebrate and to remember all your lifetime and let me tell you one interesting story of such kind of an event. It was 2023, an amazing year for all cricket fans in the world because we have the ODI World Cup, Asia Cup, WTC Final and many more series such as The Ashes, Ind vs South Africa and many more. But there is one more thing that is wanted by all cricket fans and we have it three times and who knows four times this year. The cherish able, always remembered, India vs Pakistan. Two times in the Asia cup and one time in the ODI World cup, we will witness this amazing rivalry even more this year. September 2023, and the awaited month has arrived. The Asia Cup kicked off with its initial matches. It was happening in Pakistan and Sri Lanka both as India refused to play because of political issues and many more issues which both countryâs government crib about. On 2 September, we had the match in Colombo, meaning India vs Pakistan in Colombo. The match started, surprisingly according to the weather forecast, there was no signs of rain in the starting. But that match did not finish because till the finishing of Indiaâs innings which was the first innings, there was rain, drama, and lots of sadness in every spectatorâs mind because firstly India had not played well and secondly due to that rain match was abandoned and both teams shared one point each. Well, as I told there were two games so we had the fixture again on 10th September as part of the super four stage. There was rain, drama, and lots of delightfulness in this match because this match was completed and it also witnessed the run machineâs 77th century and he also completed 13,000 runs in ODI cricket. Do you know who I am referring to ?, yes Virat Kohli, my favorite player and the charm of every Indian spectator watching that game. He came in to play and replenishing all his mistakes that led to his dismissal in the last game, he smashed a well driven 122* of 94 deliveries with KL Rahul also scoring a century. They both stitched a 233-run partnership and stretched Indiaâs score to 357 for just the loss of 2 wickets. It was an easy defend for India and dismissed the whole of Pakistan in just 128 runs and in the bowling unit, Kuldeep Yadav also took 5 wickets and bowled an excellent spell dismissing some of their key batters.
We all got the gift from Kohli, we all wanted and deserved. He played as a well accumulator and in the end accelerating to his hundred. It was a classic Kohli innings and a classic Indian win. As expected, Virat received the Man of the Match and that is all we could ask by him in the match of one of the most cherished rivalries of all time.

Except we also watched a Real Plague roll across the planet in Real Time, and the results were... horrifying. We fully expected deniers and bullshit for this one, too, and damn, we got them. Not for long, this time.
We watched the early wave of z's roll across the less advantaged parts of the world so we knew what was coming. I made phone calls. Pulled the team together. Got us set up in our chosen location, and actually got our goddamn wall built, along with a few stealth ops to keep the 'neighborhood' safe.
Then, we waited.
I was absolutely delighted it took longer for the shit to hit the fan. Gave us more time to prepare, gave people further down the call list time to join us. That made a huge difference for everyone, in a good way. More people, more skills, more supplies! As long as we could move freely around the area, we did, shopping and making connections, making friends.
We recruited a few more people, and watched parts of the world fall into hell. When the hell washed up on the Gulf coast, we started shutting things down. It was sickening watching our nation fall apart, like a bloated week-dead cow lifted with a skid steer. (Yes, I've seen that. Yay farm life.) Families literally torn apart, into bloody shreds, on live television. Lots of senseless hate crimes, followed by retaliation that had most of us weeping or cheering them on, or both.
The last weeks before it all slammed shut were the worst. Global tensions were utterly nuts, and Command Staff spent quite a few nights awake and discussing options if shit went nuclear - we were close to a major target, after all, and grim jokes about radroaches aside, we had fears. To this day I'm still shocked that India and Pakistan teamed up during the crisis. Nobody was shocked by what happened to Russia, or China.
All in all, we were lucky. The location was great. The nuke-powered electric plant kept the area's grid up and running, and that alone had the locals on our side. Plus, we were out there working our asses off, keeping the roads clear, escorting trade groups in, eliminating raiders and bandits before they became a problem. I spent most of my time working medical, when I wasn't farming. We weren't setting ourselves up like Lord Humongous or whatever, we were part of the community and active in it's maintenance and defense.
Other places weren't so fortunate. It sucked that we couldn't save them, but we tried to keep our focus on what we DID save. Not just our area! Yeah, we were able to set up radio communication with other enclaves of survivors and help them work through stuff so they could thrive. It really helped to have this wider network around the region, it gave people a real sense of hope, a sense that there would be a future for all of us. That was the point, after all. We were doing this so there would be a goddamn tomorrow.
Things get better every year. I'm retired from the Command staff, too old and slow to jump into action at a moment's notice now. That's for the youngsters, heh. The different regions have slowly started to link up, east to west, north to south, and our kids and grandkids have educational opportunities that we initially feared were gone forever, when this shit started.
It was hard, don't get me wrong about that! It was hard, and miserable at times, and grief killed more than a few survivors over the years. Survivor's guilt is real, and I still wake up with screaming nightmares once in a while, but I wake up. I wake up and face the day, and I thank everyone who made it possible for all of us to survive, and I bless everyone who continues to do the hard work of building up the world again, and building it up better.
Maybe we learned something, right? I don't know, honestly. But when I read the reports of new trade agreements with other countries - not just regions, now, COUNTRIES! - I get hopeful all over again, same as when I read about the new and improved wind farms and solar greenhouses. Same as when I read about a university's graduating class being in the thousands again after twenty years of low enrollment due to safety concerns. It's all about hope, and making it better.
Now, I'm going to enjoy my retirement in this lovely stone cottage you sneaky bastards built for me. If I'm not inside when you stop by, I'm in the garden. Feel free to come say hi! I'll make us a nice cup of coffee and we'll gossip. And if it ever hits the fan again, I'll be at your side to help you defend it all over again.
- text of the retirement speech of Captain Greenlaw, one of the founders of Blackhawk Region, 2067. Her cottage was preserved as a Global Heritage site in 2085 and can still be visited to this day.
Her birthday has become a local holiday, complete with festival on the grounds. There are stories of people encountering a middle-aged woman, using a cane to get around, who asks for a sitrep. Those who fill her in on current events get a hearty pat on the back and a cigar slipped into their pocket (whether they smoke or not!) and lose sight of her in the crowd shortly after. The cigar is Capt. Greenlaw's favorite brand - and hasn't been manufactured since the Outbreak.
The zombie apocalypse, except everyone knows what is going on because it is bloody 2024 and people watch movies.

[ad_1] MCG ahead of the Australia vs India clash (PC: Subhayan) Boria Majumdar in Melbourne Monday was the first time I was back at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) since that amazing T20 World Cup encounter between India and Pakistan â a match now famous for Virat Kohliâs incredible match-winning innings and back-foot punch for six. And the moment I reached the Dennis Lillee statue outside Gate 2, so very iconic of the MCG, it reminded me of an incident which I will always have fond memories of. On October 23, 2022, the MCG was a real spectacle. India v Pakistan was a festival and fans had come in from all parts of the world. As my colleague Amit Shah (he was working for RevSportz at the time) and I walked towards the gate, we met a young Indian couple who looked rather flustered. Amit spoke to them in Marathi and learned that they had come to Australia for their honeymoon, and hoped to watch the India-Pakistan game. On landing in Melbourne, they became aware that the game was sold out, just like the Boxing Day Test is, and it was almost impossible to organise tickets at the eleventh hour. âWe are huge cricket fans, and the reason we came here was to watch this game,â the husband told me. âWith the MCG capacity close to 100,000, we felt it wouldnât be an issue to buy tickets. Had we known this would be the situation, we would have bought tickets long back.â âThis was to be my gift to him,â said his wife. As I listened to them, it struck me that these were the kind of fans who made Indian cricket what it is. Without such fans, there would be no IPL, for example. And without tickets, they would have to head back to Mumbai without fulfilling their dream of watching cricketâs marquee match-up. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) (PC: Debasis Sen) A close friend of mine who runs one of the leading sports tourism companies in India was an official agent for the ICC. On the spur of the moment, I called him and asked if he had two tickets to give me. I was happy to pay, but I knew he was unlikely to accept the money. âThese are the last few tickets, so if you badly need them, please take,â he said. I was delighted to offer the tickets to the couple as a wedding present. They looked stunned. âHow much should we pay you?â asked the husband. âWe can pay you any amount you want,â said his wife. âThis is incredible.â When I told them it was a gift and that they need not pay anything, they did something strange. The husband suddenly touched my feet and sought my blessings. âWe donât know how to thank you,â said his wife, almost in tears. âYou do not even know us, and yet you have just given us our best wedding present.â Sport is all about spreading positivity, and I sent a long thank-you note to my friend for the tickets, before going into the ground. I met them again at the end of the match, while rushing to do my show. We had just witnessed a Kohli innings for the ages, and the husband gave me a warm hug before saying: âIf we can ever do anything for you, we would be grateful.â Now, for Boxing Day, we again have two tickets to give! If we meet some deserving fans, the tickets are theirs. May be another couple on honeymoon. Who knows? _________________________________________________________
Spiritual Therapy â miraculous healing powers of Surah Ar-Rahman
Since creation of man, ages after ages, different mode to heal the ailing people had been in vogue. The most ancient techniques for healing the sick, either herbal, or homeopathy or the modern-day allopath, the human beings have been looking for novel options.
But one mode of therapy remained alive in all ages and for all groups and segments whether it was in ancient times or the present-day modern age.
This is spiritual therapy. And as for the followers of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and the Holy Quran, this mode is equally believed and trusted in modern age as in ancient times.
The Holy Quran itself states that it has healing tendency for ailments and those researching in this divine book always came out with a different set of healing aspects to treat different diseases. Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran, âAnd we send down Quran which is a healing and mercy to the believers.â
Although whole of this Holy Book has a healing impact, some of its Surah have more healing tendency if recited or listened in a scheme. Surah Ar-Rahman is one of those valuable Surah or verses that provide a panacea to ailing believers.
Also known as Zeenat-i-Quran (The beauty of the Holy Quran), this Surah has proved to be the best therapy for countless patients who had recovered from a number of deadly and complicated diseases with its long-lasting and powerful spiritual impact.
Scientists and researchers across the globe are working to find out medicaments of different yet mysterious diseases, but they could not succeed to triumph over the entire mini-universe of the human body yet.
Therefore, along with allopathic, homeopathic, psychological and Greek ways of cure, spiritual remedies are also being opted for treatment of complicated diseases. The rhythmic verses of the Surah Ar-Rahman had magical impact on the entire human biology as it provides internal peace to human heart, mind and soul for bringing unity to the function of the body.
It also activates the cognitive faculties and belief system to get the patient emotionally connected to the creator of the universe. Thus it fills the soul with delightful feelings and mind with positive energy for bringing ultimate meaning to human life. There are numerous examples of healing effects of this Surah.
Muhammad Maqsood, a government employee in Rawalpindi, a few days back suffered an accident and the doctors recommended him an operation of his vertebra. The doctors also prescribed him medicines as he sustained multiple injuries, but he could not get relief even after the prescribed medications. Later, a colleague has suggested him spiritual treatment of listening to Surah
Ar-Rahman three times a day for seven consecutive days along with the prescribed medicines. Following the allopathic and therapeutic treatment through the Surah, he has felt better now and recovered from the physical injuries and psychological pains. Maqsood told APP that he was quite fit after listening to Surah Ar-Rahman for the stipulated time.
The Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), The Last Messenger of Allah Almighty said, âEverything has adoration and the adoration of the Holy Quran is Surah Ar-Rahman.â
This great Surah has three portions including the first one where Allah Almighty reveals about His creation till this portion reaches the verse âAll on earth has to end.â
In the second portion, there is discussion about punishment to infidels and in the third portion the Creator talks about bounties to be showered on true believers in Jannah. Its beauty is hidden in its verse where Allah Almighty repeats again and again, âO which of your Lordâs bounties will you deny?â This same verse (ayat) is repeated 31 times in the 78-ayat Surah.
Dr Kiran Sarfaraz, a Lahore based consultant surgeon told this news agency that she has been practicing âSurah Arrahman therapyâ for her patients for over seven years and had witnessed miraculous results.
Religious scholar Mufti Ghulam Mustafa Rizvi said, despite all other prevalent mode of treating the diseases one could not ignore the miraculous healing potential of the Holy Quran. âIt is not the Surah Ar-Rahman alone but there are other ayah-e-shifa. If we talk of Surah-e-Fateha, it has been described as Surah-e-Shifa. There are also five Ayah called as Ayah-e-Shifa.â
Starting with the Holy Name of Allah âArRahman â the Beneficent,â this Surah ends with Ayah âList is the name of your Lord, full of majesty and honor.â Its recitation itself develops a feeling of healing and purification in human beings and when it is listened in a scheme, its impact multiplies manifold.
Dr Muhammad Javid Ahmad, a consultant physician at Services Hospital, Lahore said that he himself testified this Surah for treatment of diseases he was suffering from. Makhdoom Safadr Shah Bokhari had the same opinion about the Surah as he stated that he advised Surah Ar-rahman Therapy for recovery of all ailments. âI recommend it to all my patients to use âSurah Ar-Rahman Therapyâ along the prescribed medicines as countless patients have been recovered from deadly diseases by listening to the Surah.
