SPOILER ALERT 91 DAYS ANIME
Okay so, for people who have watched 91 days, what do you think of the ending?
Completed watching 91 days
And at first, my thoughts about it are quite simple
Kinda like, okay it was a cool anime, nice.
But when I think about the ending
I have so many different answers and questions
Okay so
Is Angelo alive? Or dead?
I think Angelo's alive, Nero didn't kill him.
I think Nero didn't kill him, because Nero's father always regretted killing the Lagusas, and when he died, he died uttering the words : It was all for nothing. And then, later on, Angelo too says the same thing which triggers a fight between them and Angelo says WHY DIDN'T YOU KILL ME BACK THEN?
And then at some point they're just chilling and all of that
And Nero tells him
That you don't need a reason to live
You just live
So yeah, I don't think Nero killed Angelo
I think he just left him there
And went separate ways
What confuses me more is about that other don, who saved Angelo
And told him to do something
What was all that about (like, is it somehow connected to him suggesting that he should Kill Nero or is it something else? Like you did a good job, go kill one more person for me and you'll be free kinda? But also like, i didn't see any more of their influence? I am doubtful about that place where they got food but nothing other than that)
And also In the end a car stops after looking at Nero's car, What was that
....
I feel really bad for : Corteo (poor man didn't deserve all that) and Barbero (smart man but sadly no one trusted his gut)
Also that investigator who was threatened. Man if they had actually taken his family out, I would have lost my heart. When they showed me the car burning and made us assume for those 30 seconds that his wife and daughter were killed. I was sad, mad, and plain disappointed and angry. They were alive, and I felt better. No one should do something like that to anyone. Ever.
....
Also that part in the end when they're both just chilling together, hanging out and stuff. I don't know what to think about that, did it represent the despair they both shared.
Because they both did trust each other. Angelo wouldn't accept that, but he never really wanted to kill Nero, as he spoke, at the end.
They were good friends. And when Nero found out everything, he couldn't kill him so easily because Nero wasn't that kind of a guy, and also because of all that I've mentioned above. Also maybe because they both understood each other in having gone through the similar thing, having caused each other in a weird way, the pain they're going through.
So kinda like yeah.
....
On the other hand, If Nero did kill Angelo, it might be because Angelo wanted to die. He has no reason to live. And his words to him might signify that you don't need a reason to live, you just live. In the past sense, and maybe more to himself rather than to Angelo.
And maybe killing Angelo somehow gave him a closure regarding that it was his first job, and he felt his dad was disappointed because he didn't kill Angelo. So in that sense, if he killed Angelo at the beach, that was a loop completed, in that he completed the job?
....

Just watched 91 days. Before I swim into the whole contemplating debate on whether Angelo is alive or not, the anime is so underrated. Spoilers ahead.
I wasn't too interested in the first episode but then TK played the opening song (Signal) and chills went down. If there's anything I've learnt, his music takes everything up a notch. Second episode onwards, the story builds up. It's honestly amazing how Angelo manipulates the course of events or rather has the foresight to realise the cause and effect of certain actions.
Should he be called Angelo Lagusa or Avilio Bruno? I like how the anime doesn't actually focus on him and his screen time doesn't take up half the series. It's well paced and built from different angles giving it a more realistic feel. At some point, it became obvious that Ganzo was the one who sent the letter but I wish we found out more about his intentions because it seemed like it was written off too quickly. The character development was beautiful. Corteo's death was so sad honestly. He was a true brother to Angelo and he really did not deserve that ending. At some point, Angelo probably knew he'd have to sacrifice Corteo but pulling the trigger on him himself was agonizing. The trust between Nero and Avilio was so impaired that it was strong. No matter what, they both respected each other till the end. Barbero's suspicions had been true all along. His personality was the most relatable thanks to my trust issues. At this point, even though there may not be any ill intentions, I cannot stop second guessing people's motives. It may literally be an innocent question but I find myself watching my words and being careful about what information I'm letting on. My lovely family is to thank for most of that.
It does bring about the question "What is family", doesn't it? Nero, Frate, Fio and Vincent all fought for the sake of the family and to save it. But what were they trying to save? Fio's intentions seemed to be the purest but what about the others? Frate and Nero were ready to kill each other to save said family when they were literally breaking exactly that. Isn't it business and the name at some point? I'm a big believer in friends being as important as family or more. So, Vincent's betrayal didn't set well with me. I don't mean to judge or offer any other alternatives. They all tried to do what seemed most logical to them to save or accomplish what was most important to them. In pursuit of their goal, they lost sight of what they had. And if there wasn't any plot, we wouldn't have such a good anime. It makes you introspect though.
"You just live." An offhand comment but it's true. An old anime character (I can't seem to remember which one) said, "I live to find out why I live." Don't write yourself off but the lack of purpose in life can be displaced with the action of living. It's what I want to tell myself.
I won't try to solve the mystery of Angelo's death because the conspiracy theories everywhere. The problem is I don't know what I want. Here you see a boy who has struggled with the guilt of escaping and surviving. He's burdened with the task of living and he's completed his revenge so on one hand, I want his suffering to end but on the othe hand, I want him to live. I want to watch as he starts anew leaving the past and pain behind but with Corteo's death, it seems so idealistic. Although Nero's words seem to give him some relief, it's unlikely that he actually lives. I want him to live but I don't want him to suffer. Such a selfish wish.
I conclude. I didn't even know something like The Prohibition existed in America. A piece of history. Learnt something new.

Barbero: I'm not jealous of Nero for Avilio! It's just unbearable to me that Nero pays so much attention. so much kindness and care, because Avilio brazenly and openly boycotts him, causing so much pain to the vulnerable Nero, I just wish happiness for Nero, even at the cost of the life of this damn Bruno!
Tigre: Guy, this is called jealousy.

Is day 13 real? Or is it a delirium of my mind? I need more about Avilero... Do you think Barbero was in love with Nero? I am very sure of that, but I want to hear more opinions.
Yes, Anon, day 13 is definitely real, it’s incredible! Can’t wait for it to come out~
I think Barbero did show a good amount of jealousy and protectiveness toward Nero that can be interpreted as infatuation. In short, yes anon, I think he was in love. I mean, that sentence in episode 11 when he calls Avilio a demon confirmed all my suspects tbh.
I see his feelings as a parallel to the feelings Corteo felt for Angelo. They’re both childhood friends trapped in an unrequited love towards their respective oblivious best friends. And they both meet a pretty sad end.
It’s really sad actually.
