Brie Larson wins the Academy Award for Best Actress for Room (2015) – presented by Eddie Redmayne
Though she had been given a few prominent supporting roles in films such as Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) and 21 Jump Street (2012), Brie Larson had not quite broken into the mainstream as a recognized lead actress until she appeared in 2015's Room. Starring opposite Jacob Tremblay playing her character's son, Larson played a 24-year-old mother imprisoned by her son's biological father, nicknamed "Old Nick". For his five year on Earth, he has never known the world outside their disheveled, cramped shack.
It's a spectacular performance from Larson, and though yours truly doesn't blame her for taking on a well-paying role with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Larson's role in Room remains one of her most recent roles in a non-franchise movie.
Room was nominated for four Academy Awards, winning once – Brie Larson for Best Actress. It was also nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay (Emma Donoghue adapting her own novel), Director (Lenny Abrahamson), and Best Picture.

Toy Story: Content Masterlist 🚀🌵🍒⊹₊ ⋆
Tumblr media
Trying to compilate every possible movie, short film, animation test, animated commercial, behind the scenes video, DVD extras and more into one single post, in chronological order and where to watch. All of these were produced by Disney and Pixar (or used under license by other companies) but not all of them are considered canon. I'm not a specialist on the subject and I've been making this list by myself so I would be grateful if you had info or content to share with me that is missing or incorrect on this list. This masterlist will constantly be edited since I'll always be adding new links, so it's really important to reblog only the latest versions of this post, or else you might be missing stuff.
Names in bold have links in them, except for the titles. Names without, don't.

Dvd Menus and extra content:
The menus have extra content, like concept arts and new/extra character animations, like in the Toy Story 3 DVD. The DVD's contain exclusive extra content, like making offs, deleted scenes, storyboards, games and more. I'll separate them by each movie they belong.
Edit: I just noticed that the amount of extra content from the DVDs is HUGE. You can search about the extra content in Toy Story DVDs. A single DVD has, I don't know, around 20+ extra stuff? I won't add all of them here, just the ones that I found while searching for other stuff because they were already here.

Toy Story: Disney Animated Storybook Longplay (just because you can't find it everywhere)
Toy Story Activity Center Full Playthrough
List with every Toy Story game ever.
Cancelled media:
Princess Academy — a short film that would include all the female characters from Disney and Pixar, according to the fandom wiki, "interacting with each other, singing, dancing and enjoying each other's company in a royal boarding school". Jessie and Bo Peep were included in concept arts and the songs would be composed by Alan Menken. But the short film was cancelled due to Disney firing most of their 2D animators and closing it's 2D studio in march 2013. (I'm so pissed I would have LOVED to see this)
Toy Story Wonderbook — A cancelled Toy Story game from 2013. There are concept arts, the creators wanted to have the characters in a paper toy style like in a storybook and they would be in tons of different adventure scenarios. According to David Hamblin on the website Artstation, (an artist involved in the project): "Unfortunately with the coming of Playstation 4 and PSVR Wonderbook as a platform was no longer a priority".
Should I include a park attraction topic? It's a quite huge list.

Boardtober Day Four: Movie

The Wave (Norwegian: Bølgen) is a 2015 Norwegian disaster film directed by Roar Uthaug. It was Norway's official submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards but failed to be nominated. The movie depicts the Åkerneset crevice collapsing in Møre og Romsdal, creating an avalanche resulting in an 80-metre (260 ft) tall tsunami that destroys everything in its path. A sequel titled The Quake (Norwegian: Skjelvet), directed by John Andreas Andersen, was released on 31 August 2018. The third installment The Burning Sea was released 25 February 2022.
Not quite a horror movie, but not quite a not-horror movie we guess. We watched it on Tubi TV with subtitles, and had no idea we could be so scared about something that wasn't jumpscares. We have so many emotions about this movie. Q~Q

Part 5 - Incoming Text for Snoop Dogg (@SnoopDogg) and Common (@common) and Jim Jones (@jimjonescapo): “An Idea Worth 500 Million Dollars”
Question:
Could you explain to Snoop that for his "Top Secret" film project, he needs the expertise of a highly professional screenwriter? I strongly recommend Andrea Berloff and Jonathan Herman. These two exceptional writers co-wrote the screenplay for Straight Outta Compton (2015), a critically acclaimed film that received multiple award nominations, including Best Original Screenplay at the 88th Academy Awards. Their proven ability to craft compelling, authentic narratives makes them ideal candidates for this project.
Here are the Wikipedia links for the two screenwriters I mentioned:
Jonathan Herman: Jonathan Herman - Wikipedia – (click on the blue link)
Andrea Berloff: Andrea Berloff - Wikipedia – (click on the blue link)
ChatGPT Answer:
Certainly! Let me break down the recommendation for Snoop regarding Andrea Berloff and Jonathan Herman, step by step:
1. Identifying the Need
Every successful film project starts with a strong foundation—a well-crafted screenplay. For Snoop's "Top Secret" film, the script must be both authentic and engaging to resonate with the audience. Without this crucial element, even the most talented director or cast may struggle to bring the vision to life.
2. Why a Professional Screenwriter is Essential
Professional screenwriters bring years of experience, skill, and a nuanced understanding of storytelling. They ensure:
Authenticity: Crafting narratives that feel real and relatable, particularly in culturally or historically significant stories.
Structure and Flow: Ensuring the story has a clear arc, compelling character development, and pacing that keeps the audience engaged.
Awards and Acclaim: A well-written script often earns critical recognition, enhancing the film's legacy and appeal.
3. Why Andrea Berloff and Jonathan Herman?
Let’s discuss the credentials of these two acclaimed screenwriters:
Collaboration on Straight Outta Compton: Andrea Berloff and Jonathan Herman co-wrote this biographical drama about the rise of N.W.A., capturing the essence of their story with depth and respect.
The film was a commercial and critical success, grossing over $200 million globally and earning praise for its authentic storytelling.
Their screenplay was nominated for several prestigious awards, including Best Original Screenplay at the 88th Academy Awards, showcasing the industry's acknowledgment of their talent.
Experience in the Genre: Their ability to depict complex, music-driven narratives with cultural and social relevance makes them a perfect fit for a project like Snoop’s.
4. How Their Expertise Aligns with Snoop’s Vision
Berloff and Herman’s experience with Straight Outta Compton reflects their capability to:
Handle biographical and cultural themes with precision.
Work with artists and historical figures, ensuring their stories are portrayed truthfully and compellingly.
Write scripts that resonate both with niche audiences and mainstream viewers, a balance Snoop's "Top Secret" project likely requires.
5. Making the Case for Them
To convince Snoop, it's essential to emphasize:
Their track record of success in similar projects.
The impact their screenplay had on Straight Outta Compton’s storytelling, which played a significant role in the film's success.
Their ability to collaborate with artists and industry professionals to shape a narrative that aligns with the creator’s vision.
6. Next Steps
Snoop should consider approaching Andrea Berloff and Jonathan Herman with a clear vision of his project. To attract their interest:
Provide a solid concept or treatment of the film.
Highlight the significance of the story and its cultural impact.
Ensure that they are given the creative freedom to bring their expertise to the script.
By choosing these two writers, Snoop can set the stage for his "Top Secret" film to achieve both critical and commercial success, much like Straight Outta Compton did.

Inside Out is a 2015 American animated coming-of-age film produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. It was directed by Pete Docter from a screenplay he co-wrote with Meg LeFauve and Josh Cooley. The film stars the voices of Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Richard Kind, Bill Hader, Lewis Black, Mindy Kaling, Kaitlyn Dias, Diane Lane, and Kyle MacLachlan. Inside Out follows the inner workings of the mind of Riley, a young girl who adapts to her family's relocation as five personified emotions administer her thoughts and actions. Docter conceived Inside Out in October 2009 after observing changes in his daughter's personality as she grew older. The project was subsequently green-lit, and Docter and co-director Ronnie del Carmen developed the story, while consulting psychologists and neuroscientists in an effort to accurately portray the mind. Development took five and a half years on a budget of approximately $175 million. Significant changes to the film's story and characters delayed the film's production schedule.
Inside Out debuted at the 68th Cannes Film Festival on May 18, 2015, and was released in the United States on June 19. It received positive reviews from critics for its craftsmanship, screenplay, subject matter, plot, and vocal performances—particularly those of Poehler, Smith, Kind, Hader, Kaling, and Black. The National Board of Review and the American Film Institute named Inside Out one of the top-ten films of 2015. It grossed $858.8 million worldwide, finishing its theatrical run as the seventh-highest-grossing film of 2015. The film was nominated for two awards at the 88th Academy Awards, winning Best Animated Feature, and received numerous other accolades. Philosophical journal Film and Philosophy recognized Inside Out as one of the best animated films ever made. A sequel, Inside Out 2, was released on June 14, 2024.

PETRA, THE LOST and FOUND CITY
Tumblr media
I could probably bore you to death with the all inspiring and exhilarating information posted and written about this ghost city of PETRA converted into a tourist attraction to be awed by all. I wouldn't say exactly that it is lost. Whatever, Albert Lin is going to talk to us about it. Here goes...
924-1 https://ok.ru/video/7556291693107
The area around Petra has been inhabited from as early as 7000 BC, and the Nabataeans might have settled in what would become the capital city of their kingdom as early as the 4th century BC. Archaeological work has only discovered evidence of Nabataean presence dating back to the second century BC, by which time Petra had become their capital. The Nabataeans were nomadic Arabs who invested in Petra's proximity to the incense trade routes by establishing it as a major regional trading hub. Petra - Wikipedia
Tumblr media
Petra has been called many things, and people compete with each other trying to aproxímate its magnificent with indescribable adjectives.
Petra, in Arabic means Rock. It was originally known to its inhabitants as Raqmu or Raqēmō. Petra is also called the "Rose City" because of the colour of the sandstone from which it is carved; it was famously called "a rose-red city half as old as time" in a poem of 1845 by John Burgon.

Theeb ( in Arabic: means "wolf") is a 2014 internationally co-produced period drama thriller film written and directed by Naji Abu Nowar. It is a coming-of-age story about a Bedouin boy, Theeb, who must survive in the wide-open Wadi Rum desert. The film takes place during the Middle Eastern theatre of the First World War, in the wake of the Great Arab Revolt against the ruling Ottoman Empire. The film used non-professional actors from the Bedouin community in southern Jordan, and is considered a "Bedouin Western". It has also been described as a coming-of-age film. Theeb is an international co-production between Jordan, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar.
The film was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards, making it the first Jordanian nomination ever. Theeb - Wikipedia

IMdB: 7'2 ADVENTURE-DRAMA-THRILLER RUNTIME: 1h 40m
