Now than, after Lena kind of calms him down when he sees her wearing the Cicada these two stand there awkwardly. The thing is Shin has confessed and Lena kissed him but didn't give him an actual answer for over A MONTH!(work related circumstances were involved too but besides the point) Shin has been doing mental gymnastics since and this is the first time since the confessions these two have properly talked and faced each other and he just got too overwhelmed and couldn't hold it in anymore and kissed Lena.

It was a deep kiss with a bit of biting involved and it was so passionate it made Lena's brain haywire! Actually here's the scene I can't explain it it's too good

Yeah I couldn't properly function for a while after this scene mdmdlsla. So like definitely recommend reading the light novel not only for the shinlena content (but certainly trying to bait you with it) but also the characters get so much development and it talks about their struggles and how the eighty six are unsure how to fit into a society that accepts them and how to move forward without the war. It's so great definitely urge you to give it a go

thinking about 86 again and tfw the guy who's gone his entire adult life weighed by a toxic mix of dehumanization and survivor's guilt, a burden so heavy he's developed a death wish he can't see through because of his sense of duty, realizes that he does want to live after all…and then is told (by the one person in the world he needs to hear it from), that he should in fact be proud of surviving, proud of living, proud of fighting to get where he is.

He hears this right as the music, which is a slow rendition of the ED theme, hits the crescendo, and the sun rises over a battlefield littered with blooming flowers.

When I watched 86 season 2 I had a plot theory. In the OP we see Lena's face is hidden from Shin's view, and we saw her destroyed room in San Magnolia when the Legion attacked. So I thought that the Legion were going to suddenly be a a lot more tactical and dangerous because of a new commander type, and so Spearhead gets sent to destroy it, only for Shin to realise it's Lena.

I still think it was a missed opportunity, but I'm glad it didn't go that way. Would've been devastating
