The patches and pins on Charles Rowland’s coat!

I didn’t do a whole breakdown of his outfit, but know that he wears red because Charles' hero color is very much red, in honor of his comic book counterpart's red sweater.

Also his whole outfit is inspired by mod and ska subcultures. From the chain, to his earring, to his shoes. Everything is reminiscent of the 80s.

And he maintains the red throughout all the season, to a burgundy polo in ep.3 to suddenly a black one to reflect his turbulent emotional state. Finally coming back to red eventually.

Continuation of my little Rise of Red: But it’s the 80’s series. Chloe’s outfit was surprisingly easy to translate? The patterns she wears are pretty gaudy and chunky already and I just changed her top from…whatever it was before…to a very classic 80’s windbreaker with a bit of extra flare. I did try to keep the half and half pants but it was just a little too much for what I had in mind so I went with a solid pant with fun knees instead. You can’t see them but of course Chloe has leg warmers over her glass shoes.

I think the pocketwatch has magic where it makes the user(s) instantly fit into their environment. You know, cause time travel is bad? So Red and Chloe drop into Merlin Academy looking like this and are both disgusted by it XD
