#72 hrs not going to cut it

okay worlds i need your medical knowledge again.

i have a character in an apocalypse setting with no professional surgeons or doctors or hospitals in reach. they have a burn from below the left hip to the ankle, covering almost the whole leg. they have access to pharmacies, medicines and bandages, as well as five other people to care for them. i'd like the burn to be third degree, but I also need them to survive.

what is the worst degree of burn I can give them? is a skin graft possible for someone with limited medical knowledge to perform? what are the treatments, how long would it take them to get out of critical condition, and how would I ensure they survive without a professional doctor?

burn traits right now are flexible. if I can't burn their whole leg that's okay lol

disclaimer: I am not a medical professional, I’m just a nerd. Take all of this with a grain of salt. Or several.

Okay, so the severity of burns is determined by a two factors: How much skin in burned (measured by the percentage total body surface area burned. You’ll see it abbreviated as TBSA) and how deep those burns are (first degree or superficial, second degree or partial thickness, or third degree or full thickness).

The burn you’ve described (in my unprofessional opinion) would be about 18-15 % TBSA. Keep in mind that the burns wouldn’t be only third degree, their edges would be second degree, and it would sorta “fade in.”

It’s also important to take into account which areas were burned. Burns to the face, hands, genitalia, or major joints are more severe. Your injury includes a knee, which is another area of concern.

Other important things:

For a variety of reasons, burns consume a lot to fluids. Your character is at risk for dehydration and hypovolemia. In non-apocalyptic environments, they’ve be given copious amounts of IV fluids to replace what they’ve lost. This is primarily a concern in the first 24 hrs.

Hypothermia is also a concern. One of the skin’s big jobs it to insulate the body. If a large surface area has been damaged, your character will start to loose heat. They make things called “burn sheets” to help with this. They’re sterile and are designed to insulate and not stick to burns. If your character has access to a pharmacy they might have some of these.

Cytokines are a proteins that affect the immune system. They’re released when the body experiences a significant injury, like a burn. Sometimes, too many are released, causing a condition called cytokine storm. This results in feelings of fatigue and nausea, a fever, and a drop in blood pressure. This is seen around 48-72 hours after injury.

Eschar is a hardened tissue that can develop with severe burns. If the burn encircles a limb, the eschar can put pressure on the limb, cut off blood flow, and cause compartment syndrome. This doesn’t always happen-the skin can also slough off. This is sometimes called “skin slip.” I would not google photos of this unless you are brave. Infection is another big issue. Infected burns will be purulent, smell awful, and be extra painful. Burns are prone to tetanus, so I hope your characters booster it up to date. Infection can eventually lead to sepsis.

Treatment:

In the environment you’re in, treatment is going to consist of having your character drink lots of fluids, keeping the burn covered in clean, sterile dressings, and providing pain medication if available.

Their mobility is going to be limited, and they’re going to need help to meet a lot of their basic needs: toileting, nutrition, etc.

Without access to a hospital, there’s not a whole lot that can be done. You mentioned skin grafting, and that’s basically a hard no. It’s extremely painful, creates another open wound, and carries a high risk of infection. A surgeon doing a skin graft in this situation is unadvisable, a non-surgeon attempting this procedure is highly unadvisable. It’s best to keep them warm, hydrated, and comfortable, and keep the burns clean and covered.

If you want a better, more probable good outcome, I would change a couple of things. First of all, I would reduce the amount of surface area the burn takes up. Having the burns of just on the thigh and the calf would remove the knee from the equation and make the injury less severe. Furthermore, I’d make most of the burns second degree. You can have some smaller areas of full thickness burns, but second degrees will heal quicker, and, because they leave nerve endings intact, they’ll hurt more! More superficial 2nd degree burns should heal in one-three weeks, and deeper 2nd degree burn might take as many as nine weeks. If the burn takes longer than two weeks to heal, it will likely scar.

Who lives in Newcrest?

There are only two people. Mrs. Crumplebottom and a dude named Jimbo. She lives on one side of the river, and he's on the other.

In this universe, Mrs. Crumplebottom is still a widow and has a large collection of purses (to hit people with) and telescopes (to spy on people with). She spends most of her day looking through the telescope to spy on Jimbo, who usually is just eating a can of beans or reading a book.

You can play as either her or Jimbo, but it's very risky to try to have them interact with each other. On *very* rare occasions, it is possible to get them to agree to go on a date.

If you start adding new families to the town and you build a house too close to either one of them, both Jimbo and Mrs. Crumplebottom will try to sabotage your Sims' home. The following actions can happen in this case:

-Eggs thrown at house (by Jimbo or Mrs. Crumplebottom)

-Power cut for 24-72 hrs (by either Jimbo or Mrs. Crumplebottom)

-Mysterious poop on front lawn (by Mrs. Crumplebottom only)

-Mailbox smacked with a bat (by Mrs. Crumplebottom only)

-Tin of beans rocketed onto roof of house and explodes (by Jimbo only)

Fractured Life: A Life Series Crossover AU

(I've had this post in my drafts for almost a month now, hopefully it makes sense! i put a lot of work into it)

An AU where I put characters from my various different fandom interests into a Life Series game and shake them about >:]

Features characters from Homestuck, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Legend of Zelda Tears of The Kingdom, Hollow Knight, and all the regular Life Series members, with a total of 44 players. I might add more if I feel like it, Hades and ATLA are especially tempting me, but then that might me too many characters.

This AU is mainly just a concept/outline for now, a little sandbox I can think about and play around in. It's ment to be self indulgent and fun. I've made a whole lot of notes and a few bits of drabbles and oneshots, a bit of art, and a Minecraft World!

Below is an explanation of the rules of the game, a complete list of characters, art I've made, screenshots of the Minecraft world, and some extra ramblings about it.

RULES

Fractured Life has the same basic rules of any Life Series, with some bits of added worldbuilding for the story. This season's gimmick is that it's a mix of every other season, both in the rules of the game and the world itself.

Backround Setting

Players don't choose to be in the games.

Players are sent signs a couple weeks before a game starts, generally in dreams.

Players have all their memories intact when they start their first game but they may grow foggy over time.

When a player loses their last life, they're made a spectator ghost until the end of the game.

Ghosts cannot talk to living players (most of the time) but can talk to each other.

All players are sent home at the end of the games.

Basics

Limited amount of lives

Lose enough lives and you turn red, and hostile

You're out when you lose your last life

You can give another player one of your lives

Each session some of the players will be boogeymen, and will have to kill another player or be sent straight to red

Each player has a “Path” that gives them additional mechanics they have to use to play the game

Each session is 72 hours long, with 24 hours off time in between 

During the break players aren't allowed to kill each other, and timers are paused

Each character is assigned a “Path” which determines which past game’s mechanics they use. Last Life mechanics are spread across each, most players use mechanics from Double, Limited, or Secret Life in addition to this. Winners get the same mechanics they had in the game they won.

Limited

Each Limited player has 864 hours to live (1 canon hr = 36 AU hours)

Normal deaths take off 36 hours

Boogey deaths take off 72 hours

Normal kills give 18 hours

Bogey kills give 36 hours

576+ hours = green

576-288 hours = yellow

under 288 = red

36 hours = 1 life (for trades)

Limited yellow lives can kill green lives of any path

Double

Double players each have a soulmate, with whom health and lives are shared

Boogey consequences are shared but only one player has the curse

A Double player doesn't need permission from their soulbound to trade lives away

Secret

30 hearts as usual

trading lives doesn't change heart amount

regular rewards and penalties

Secret Keeper is in a more hidden location

Red lives are given 1 task to harm someone each session and gain 10 hearts from completing it

Reds may attack players outside of their task, and get hearts from kills

3rd

starts with 3 lives, cannot interact with any extra mechanics

Terezi pushing Quirrel off a cliff because what i even the point of making a crossover AU set in a death game without making characters you like push each other off cliffs. I came up with this idea by choosing two characters at random to write a drabble of an interaction between them, and said interaction ended up being an attempted boogey kill. Quirrel has a sunhat because it'd help keep the sun out of his eyes while he explores, Rarity made it for him!

Another random pairing! Zelda and Applejack's bases are fairly close together, and I think they'd get along pretty well! Zelda has diplomacy skills and AJ has friendship skills. Here Applejack is giving Zelda bread, in the early game before everyone gets stable food sources.

My twin suggested that Fluttershy and Mumbo be soulbound together because it'd be funny. So here they are being disasters together :D

Zelda and Hornet are two of my favorite video game characters ever, the thought of pairing them popped into my head and wouldn't leave so here we are <3

Hornet and Link are soulbound. They agree to team for practical reasons, and then Hornet slowly finds herself caring for both them and Zelda. Meanwhile Zelda is a Limited Player, which means she has a timer ticking down instead of lives. Link and Hornet try to keep her alive for as long as possible.

I love my silly crossover crackship throuple <33 I think Link and Zelda are in a QPP, Zelda is bi and polyamorous and Link is demiromantic and acespec. Hornet hasn't had much chance to be in a relationship like this before, she's still figuring herself out.

MINECRAFT WORLD SCREENSHOTS

Parts of builds from past games are scattered throughout the new map. I did the replicated bases in creative, and the original ones in survival!

Scar's base was torn out of the ground and put up in the sky which he's a little bit annoyed about since he didn't even move out of it. I spent way too much time on trying to get the path blocks here exactly correct!

I built Pearl's tower first, it was very fun! I had difficulty finding reference for the roof but a Scott thumbnail came through for me.

The Scottage, it's at the edge of a town. This one's pretty unfinished

Desetduo home. It's a bit torn up, not exactly in the same way as in canon though. I think the older builds are somewhat built on memory, rather than being the exact same places just moved to this map.

This is where Zelda, Link, and some amount of the HK bugs live. It's dimmed so the bugs have a place to hide from the sun, but still spawnproof.

Aplejack's farm area! I just like making big wheat fields. And I think AJ'd want to make sure no one starves to death, even if they are in a death game.

I've been working on this AU in bits and pieces since January.

Planning this AU is what made me finally get around to reading the last half of Homestuck.

It's also a large part of the reason I'm currently rewatching MLP:FIM

I haven't been able to watch anything since this without considering adding the characters to the AU. 

Revolutionary Girl Utena, Delicious in Dungeon, and Avatar TLA have all tempted me with this, however I have 44 characters already I really shouldn't. 

I've also briefly considered adding Genshin and She-Ra characters to this AU but I just don't have much the fixation on either of those right now.

Also considering Hades characters that would be so fun. Hmm. but again 44 characters. I'd have to expand the world border.

I've ended up shipping Zelda TOTK and Hornet HK because of this AU. My idea is that Link and Hornet are soulbound together and Zelda is Limited. Hornet sticks with them for practical reasons at first but ends up bonding with both of them and she and Link try to protect Zelda and keep her in the game as long as they can. 

I think this is a post canon AU for the Homestucks, they're probably in their early twenties. I was originally going to have them still be kids because there's something very funny to me about the idea of the other characters being concerned about the teenagers in this death game only to find out they're all very used to death and carnage, but I decided I'd rather they be a bit closer to the other characters so things are a bit better balanced. 

Also all the trolls survived because I wanted Nepeta and Feferi here. I don't think I'm going to include the other six, because again the cast is large enough, but I might change that later if I get more invested in them all. And then I'd probably also add Calliope because I like her and I might as well! 

The ponies are somewhat humanized, but still have their pony ears, coat colors, tails, hooves, and horns/wings. None of them can fly or do magic.

I've done most of the work on this before Real Life came out, I'm not sure yet if I'll find some way to work it in or just say it happens afterwards.

Update: 57 hrs 21 mins left. I studied and drank alot of water, and take a long nap. After the 3 hr nap i was hungry so i watch some mukbang and my appetite was sort of gone but now im hungry again, trying my best x

Update: 35hr 50mins. If im being honest, I ate 3 pieces of bread and after 30min I purged until I couldn't feel my throat. I understood tht to not eat anything, i have to buy this med called caffeine. Please recommend something to drink tht doesn't really have tht much calories <3 After purging i still felt guilty, i dont sh anymore coz there's nothing left to cut anymore. Love ya x

Update: I ate. The cycle where u think "just a little, it wont even count". It is gonna count. And then you eat and eat until you realize you binged more than you should and cry like a baby for 5 hrs and punch urself so hard tht bruises takes place near your eyes, you try to purge but you cried too long tht it wont even come out. Im fucking tired, my throat feels numb. One more cut to go.

oct 25th - hello

i needed a space to write in and this fit the bill - abandoned, moody, anonymous. obnoxiously public, intensely private.

we're going again. trying to go again. it's been a bit of a crazy shitshow thus far.

july - random trying, weird cycles, lots of dental stuff.

august - appointment with fertility clinic. traveling. ovulated on the plane, of course.

september - monitored cycle. disc in neck popped out from sneezing, full body immobilization & 7/10 pain for 72 hrs; the worst vertigo attack i've had; body had wimpy ovulation or didn't ovulate. had planned an IUI but found out insurance denied the authorization. purchased ovidrel but never got to use it.

and then k got fired and we found out were gonna lose our nice health insurance.

october. period took ages to come, body figuring itself out. but it came. we have health insurance until end of month, so manifesting that i will ovulate by end of month for one last chance at a cycle with the clinic, even though they can't do an IUI (STUPID INSURANCE. I'M OBVIOUSLY INFERTILE). WE ARE ALL SICK WITH A COLD. AND MISERABLE. i'm thinking there's no way i'll ovulate. had monitoring appointment scheduled for CD13 which was this friday 10/27 (cutting it close!). tuesday (yesterday), i had a feeling i was going to ovulate earlier than friday... this morning (wednesday) i had a positive LH test so I asked the clinic to let me come today. follicle was 20mm, estrogen /lh were high so they told me to trigger and so that's what I did just now at 11:40am in between clients.

the crazy thing is today is only day 11. i typically don't ovulate for another several days. so, thank you, body.

this has overall been a crazy month.

adjusting to k being unemployed

the thing is... thing morning at breakfast p was being ballistic for no apparent reason & so so so sad and dysregulated (not tantruming, but genuinely distraught) until we got her some nai huang bao and calmed her lil nervous system and i think to myself, really????? really???? really i want to do another one???? she ATE MY WAFFLE. but she is also pure wonder and miracle & So Ready to be a big sister. when she was one i didn't know how she'd be at two...wasn't sure how her language/ability to understand things would be. but at two she blows me away with her emotional/relational perceptiveness, her deep nurture for smaller babies (that sometimes needs slight redirecting but is otherwise very lovely), her MEMORY! and attention to detail, her overall personhood, which is very, er, ROBUST.

anyway, i'll be disappointed if we aren't able to become pregnant by end of year, but also won't be too surprised. it's different this time... and i'm also different. i'm more able to understand & trust that this WILL happen, and that the part of me that feels frantic and impatient is because i'm looking around at other people. and if parenting has taught me anything it's that info about what other ppl are doing is largely useless.

Grams’ cancer spread to her bones a few weeks ago. 

Got a text from my brothers saying our mom called them to tell them Grams fell ill, and the hospice nurse came (Grams lives with our mom, with whom I am estranged) that Grams has about 72 hours to live.

Since I can’t get off work, Joey (oldest, lives 4-5 hours up north) is headed there. Grams lives about 4 hrs away from me, northwest. Jamie, middle brother (lives down the road) is a nurse and will try to get off work to see her. I asked them both to keep me in the loop so maybe I can FaceTime her. I called Dad this morning to let him know what’s going on.

She practically raised me while dad was at work keeping food on the table and mom was off being fucking nuts.

She just turned 94, and I know she’s ready to go.

I know this probably sounds mechanical but I’m just trying to keep my head on straight until the weekend.

“What do you want?” Oh, wow, even talking hurts for him. His throat is all dried up, he tasted something bitter under his tongue.

You chuckled, moving half a meatball around your mostly empty plate, “for you to stop treating me like I’m stupid.” You spear the meat with your fork, swirling it in the sauce, “I know you’ve been… checking in on me, Bucky.”

Oh, fuck.

“Look, I’m sorry, okay? I was-- I mean, look at you--” He’s making it worse. You’re mad. You’re angry because he was being a good friend.

He only did that because you were lonely and he’s right: you are lonely.

So lonely that you’re willing to kidnap a grown man to keep you company, “I’m so sad for you.”

“You’re aware you’re the one’s been tied up, right?” You’re curt as you should be, scooting over near Bucky to feed him.

“I can’t eat that—” If he wasn’t sitting down and tied, Bucky would’ve vaulted over you and called the neighbors, she’s fucking crazy!

You giggled, rolling your eyes as if he had the freedom to make a choice right now, “if you’re thinking of screaming… More than half of my neighbors are felons or on parole, I doubt that they’ll call 911.”

Jutting forward the fork, you let the prongs gently touch Bucky’s lips, “now, eat! We have so much to talk about.”

“No. I don’t-- I’m not hungry.” He shakes his head, the fork hitting his chin and clanking down the floor.

“Just eat the fucking food, Steve!”

Bucky flinched at your sudden outburst. The words—the name—seeping in a moment later. Steve? Who the hell is Steve? Was he your husband? Boyfriend? His head throbbed again, his mouth filling with saliva like he’s about to throw up.

You kneel down, pulling a napkin from the table to wipe the meat and the sauce from the floor.

“This better not stain.”

He promised thrice.

Once over pasta and meatballs, once over dessert, and once when you were clearing the table.

You relented, of course. Half because you love him and half because it’s getting annoying.

“As long as you don’t leave me, okay?”

“Yes, I promise. I won’t leave you.”

Bucky’s still seating on the dinner chair, slightly slumped without the ropes holding him up, “look, I’m really sorry about the anesthetic, I went overboard with it.” You look over to him—at least he’s regaining his fingers and arms again.

“It’s okay, babe, I wouldn’t trust me either.” If he could stand up, he’d go over and hug you. Helping with the dishes, peppering you with sweet kisses.

A genuine laugh slips out of your lips, “ugh, still… I’m really sorry.”

The last of the plates were neatly stacked, cups and cutleries were placed gently on a drying rack. It was getting late, you could tell.

“I’m not mad, by the way.” You muse, prompting Bucky to lean forward, listening to you.

“What do you mean?” He takes your hand into his, ever so gently.

“You did that,” you squeeze his hand back, gazing into his soulful eyes, “because you love me.”

Did you know that some people could read microexpressions well? Bucky went through a whole lot of them before answering, “of course, I do.”

Contemplating whether you call him out on it or not, you hum, placing a gentle hand on his jaw, “it’s okay, you’ll learn how to love me.”

He has to. He has no other choice.

Bucky clears his throat, “have you seen my phone?” His tone was hopeful, upbeat, maybe he can reach out to someone, anyone, before you can do any more damage.

“Yeah, ‘s on the couch.”

He tried to move, he really did. Bucky’s fairly strong, he can bench an easy 140 on a good day. But even the beefiest motherfuckers have no match for Propofol.

“Don’t worry about your friends, they’re not worried about you, Buck.” The coolness of your tone sends Bucky into a panic—again. “D’you wanna check your messages though? There’s a lot of ‘em.”

Grabbing his phone, you asked Siri to read him his latest notifications.

Bucky never really liked horror movies. It made him jumpy and anxious. Too paranoid, even. But now? Now he’s sure that people have never experienced sheer fright before.

His toes cramped inside his boots, his feet were cold, sweating. The little hairs on his legs stood up, goosebumps littering the entirety of his body. If he held his breath, he’s sure he could hear his heart hammering out of his chest. The blood rushes past his ears and onto the base of his skull—he’s gonna be sick.

“What,” he gulped back the saliva pooling in his mouth, “what did you do?”

You’re irritatingly calm, “well, I mean… We’re already together, what do you need those for, right?”

Putting a warm hand over his forehead, you cooed, “poor thing, you look sick.”

Bucky thinks it’s well past midnight when the anesthetic wore off.

His limbs were heavy, he had to lean on the wall every couple of steps to regain his balance. Helpless. He’s helpless and you both know it. As if it’s a bear trap, Bucky carefully took his phone from the coffee table.

Why would you leave it unattended?

The screen lights up as soon as he picked up, his lock screen littered with ‘fuck yous’, ‘sicko’, and his personal favorite, ‘motherfucker.’

Ignoring the glaring messages, he went straight for the emergency dialler and—you took out his SIM card, snapping it into two neat pieces, placing it beside the phone.

Bitch.

The golden surface of the card was scratched too, he can’t do anything, use it as a toothpick, maybe? His phone was just as good as a paperweight.

He looks out of the window, limping towards it. Even if he could climb over, it would take him forever to get onto the street. Your neighbors would probably think that he’s just on a bad trip.

“It’s bolted shut. Perks of living alone as a single female.” Your voice made him flinch back, like a kid whose hand was halfway down the cookie jar.

Bucky plays it off with a cough, he can’t be weak now, “no, babe, I was checking out a noise. You ready for bed?”

You smiled softly, taking his hand and draping his arm on your shoulders as you prop him against you, “almost, big guy. Gotta get you settled in bed first. Are you tired?”

Nodding, Bucky kisses your temple, “yeah.” He just needs to play with your sick little games until he regains his strength.

Where would he go? His reputation and his job are besmirched, his apartment is probably crawling with forensics too.

“You fell down and banged your head earlier. Nasty cut on your head too. I told you to not tire yourself much.”

Burger Buns

Have you had a “hamburger” before? It’s like a meat “patty” on a pillowy, soft bun. They’re pretty interesting sandwiches!! But seriously, folks—this bun recipe is so nice and simple, you’re going to forget that the store ones are like $2 for an 8-pack. Let’s get started.

Neven’s Burger Buns

Servings: 8 Time: 15 min mix + 3.5 hr proof + 20 min bake + 20 min cool

INGREDIENTS

200 g all-purpose flour

250 g high-gluten (bread) flour, or more APF

8 g salt

20 g sugar

7 g (one package) instant yeast

125 g lukewarm water

115 g milk

1 egg

45 g butter, at room temp

DIRECTIONS

In the bowl of your stand mixer, stir together the flours, salt, sugar, and yeast. Add the water, milk, and egg, but not the butter. Attach the bowl to the mixer equipped with the dough hook attachment. Start the mixer on the lowest speed and mix for 2 minutes, then stop and scrape down the sides, releasing the dough ball from the dough hook. Go up to the next higher speed, and start adding the butter in small pads—toss one in, wait for it to get fully mixed in and no longer visible, then add more. This may take 3-5 minutes. When all the butter is added in, go one speed higher on the mixer again and mix for another 2 minutes. The dough will be smooth, stretchy and a little sticky.

Transfer the dough to another, large, lightly oiled bowl (I like a wider, shallower container for this) and cover. Leave on the counter for 2 hours; it will need a little less time on a very hot day.

Once the dough looks smoothly inflated and doubled in size, move it to a work surface (a clean workbench or a cutting board). Use a bench scraper or knife to cut the dough into ~108 g balls. Shape each into a ball by pulling the sides towards the middle and pinching together, then flip it over and roll on the counter to form a smooth top and a bottom sealed together by rolling. (This video of pizza-ball shaping will be instructive.) Place these balls on a half-sheet pan (18″ x 13″) and cover with a clean, non-terry towel. Rest for 60-90 minutes.

30 minutes before the second proof is done, preheat your oven to 425ºF with a rack in the top third. 

When the buns looks very large and puffy, uncover them carefully. From this point on, don’t poke or move them; they’re filled with gas and we want to keep them that way. All that’s left is to egg-wash them. Beat one egg, then gently brush some onto each bun. Go for even coverage in as thin a layer as you can manage.

If you’d like to add toppings at this point, go ahead. Sesame seeds, poppy seeds, onion—the sky’s the limit.

Pop the sheet pan into the oven and set a timer for 15 minutes. Rotate the pan after 7-8 minutes. At the end, check that the buns are large, golden, and irresistibly shiny; you may have to add another 2-5 minutes to the bake, or not.

Move each bun carefully to a cooling rack and let them fully cool, at least 20 minutes. They’re now ready to use or store for a day or two. They also freeze beautifully and thaw out on the counter overnight just fine.

Ideally, griddle them in butter before using for a sandwich. 

I refuse to discuss what you do with the rest of your burger because I don’t want Internet drama.

What’s with the high-gluten flour? This is the baker’s “secret,” a flour that gives you that strong, chewy crumb bakeries achieve. You likely won’t find anything labeled “high-gluten flour” in stores. You could buy “bread flour” there, or shop at your local restaurant-supply store! Like you’re a restaurant!

My favorite commercial yeast is Saf-Instant brand. Buy a big thing of it and keep it in the freezer; use straight out of the freezer. By the way, that restaurant-supply store will likely carry it.

Can you make this without a stand mixer? Hm maaaaybe, but it’s going to take a solid 30 minutes of hand-kneading. See, this is an enriched dough, meaning it contains things like milk and eggs. To get those really integrated into the final mix, you need to knead a lot. The dough should be utterly smooth by the end, with the butter fully incorporated. It’s doable, though—I believe in you!

When proofing, you can use a towel, or one of these sweet proofing bags. 

For sliders, shape twelve buns, ~72 g each. Or if you’d like 12 burger buns, 1.5x the recipe, but watch out when spacing them on the half sheet pan. Or use a Big Sheet!

I’ve successfully replaced the milk in this recipe with buttermilk for a tangier taste.
