the beeping of a facetime call on your computer startled you out of the book you were reading, grinning as you saw the name appear on the screen. finally, after a few long and draining days, hyunjin had a chance to call you for longer than 5 minutes.

it was hard when he was on tour, you were both such touchy and affectionate people that not being close really took its toll. not having him there to cuddle in bed after a long day, not having someone to laugh with at a stupid movie over dinner. it was tough, but so worth it. he loved his job and you’d never take that away from him.

you sat down quickly at your computer desk, a blanket wrapped around your shoulders before you accepted the call, the sight of your boyfriend appearing large across the screen. you grinned, the relief and pure joy on his face enough to have tears brimming in your eyes.

“hi, baby. missed you.” he smiled, his head rested on the pillow of his hotel bed as he laid down, taking in all of your appearance on his phone screen.

“missed you more, love.” you replied, reaching down to pick up kkami off the floor by your desk. “i think he’s missing you too. wouldn’t let me take your hoodie off the couch because he wanted to sleep on it.”

hyunjin cooed at that, his lips forming a pout as he took a screenshot of kkami snuggled into your chest.

“i miss my babies so much. it’s been too long, i need you both in my arms right now.”

“not much longer, pretty boy. then we’re all yours. every day of your break, we can spend cuddling or lounging around watching movies. anything your heart desires.”

hyunjin couldn’t hide his grin at your words, but it quickly faltered back into a pout. he sighed softly, hiding his face in his pillow which caused you to frown.

“what’s wrong, angel? talk to me.”

“i just–” he huffed, trying to carefully pick his words to get his point across effectively. “its tough. its shit, honestly. i miss you, and being away from you is so hard. i struggle sleeping without you, and even changbin’s sick of being my temporary cuddle buddy now.”

while he tried to make a joke out of it, you knew him better than anyone. you could see how exhausted he was, and not just physically. so, even though being across the globe stung, you had to be strong for him.

“hyunjin, listen to me, baby. its what– 2 weeks and 4 days until you come home. it’ll fly by, i promise. every day will be filled of seeing the happy faces of stays, and we’ll be at the airport to meet you the second you land. you’ve got this, my strong, beautiful, amazing boy, if not for anyone else, then for me and kkami.”

he nodded at your words, obviously taking them to the best of his ability. he knew you were right, after all, and you were always good at giving him confidence without dismissing his emotions. he was thankful for that.

“can we stay on the call until i fall asleep? might give me a chance of getting to sleep at a decent time.” he joked, a small smile reappearing on his face.

“of course, baby. anything for you.” you instantly responded, rooting around in one of your desk drawers for a book. “what about i read to you, hmm?”

he nodded erratically, making you laugh a little.

and so you did, reading him to sleep. you’d barely got 3 chapters in before his soft snores came through your computer speakers, which made you giggle softly. you pulled out your phone to snap a photo, before texting chan and asking him to keep an eye on hyunjin for you.

then you stared longingly at the screen for a moment, a smile gracing your lips.

“2 weeks, baby. i love you so much.”

then you hung up the call, getting up to potter around the apartment. if you kept yourself busy, the time would fly, you knew it. and before you knew it you would be reunited with your favorite boy.

"Tommy changed after episode 4 because their relationship changed. It got more serious as the season went on and we saw Buck change and grow as that relationship grew. He even took back his name as a result of his relationship with Tommy. The show has shown Tommy to be supportive, encouraging, protective and funny."

Nothing changed sis. After episode 4, Tommy was basically a douchebag. It got more serious? Was that before they said they were going slow? He took back his last name? Did I mess the scene he had with Eddie or Maddie or literally anyone where he said hey guys can you call me Evan instead of Buck because that would be him taking back his name, not wanting to be called Buck but Evan. What they saw is someone that doesn't know Buck or understand him call him a name he does not like just like Ana did with Eddie w/ Edmundo. It's the same damn thing.

Reality of what the show has shown. The show has shown Tommy being unsupportive of Buck at the Bachelor Party and with the medals, dismissive of Buck when Buck wants to talk abotu almost losing Bobby as well as the deleted scene, protective LMFAO before or after he almost outed Buck? And the last one....dry humor does not make someone funny it makes them an asshole especially if that's all they got.

This must have been a troll, because literally this anon invented FANFICTION in their head.

No but the encouraging is what gets me tbh. The man is the most dismissive he could be at all times. And I've been saying this for a while, they are shipping an idea not the actual relationship. They decided on things and completely ignored what the show was actually showing them. And legit dude, we know they were getting script hours before filming, we know they didn't have the scripts to anything past 706 during the interviews for 705. The show absolutely saw the reaction to Tommy and decided to make an effort to paint Tommy that way to make it very clear that Tommy is a bad fit for Buck. There were multiple chances to develop the relationship. They didn't take it any of them. In fact they continue to write that man as condescending and dismissive. The dude has like, 2 minutes of screentime that keeps making him look worse. And they didn't use Buck to develop the relationship while he's off screen either. Buck doesn't retell a date, no casual mentions of "Tommy just dropped me off" or "Tommy is picking me up" no conversation about the dude at all, except for the one with Bobby where Bobby is on a goodbye tour and Buck asks Bobby how does he know that Tommy hasn't been a problem. Do you know know easy it would've been to make Buck say "yeah, I really like him" on that fucking scene???????? You know how easy it would've been to have Tommy in the hospital???? Except we get sexual jokes, no intimacy, Buck ditching him to go Eddie. The show made a very clear point that Buck is Eddie's partner because Buck was existing on Eddie's storyline, took no chance to develop the relationship, the deleted scene makes it even worse and I'm supposed to do what? Imagine they have a perfect relationship because someone paid Lou 200 dollars to say their relationship is thriving? Oh come on. And the reclaiming Evan is such absolute bullshit. Everyone understood what was happening when it was Ana with the Edmundo. Everyone but Athena has a nickname they prefer to go by and we know for a FACT that Buck doesn't like people calling him Evan because he said so. On screen. Even Maddie and Eddie only use it when they need to snap Buck into attention. Until they show me a scene on the fucking show that tells me that Buck is okay with Evan now, Buck doesn't like being called Evan. And Lou said he wasn't allowed to call Buck anything else. That obviously has a purpose. "The people who know me call me Buck" that's something we hear from Buck's mouth. What's not clicking, exactly? They live in a land where Buck is not Buck and Tommy is not Tommy. They rewrote both characters going against what was being shown and now they are scrambling to make their headcanons canon and they get mad when we don't agree. It's WILD.

Hc: A bunch of the kid SCPs form a metal band called "Anomalous" when they grow up. They obviously can't make themselves known to the general public, but they play during special events and parties in the foundation and end up getting pretty popular among both foundation staff and fellow SCPs. The 0-5 eventually permits Anomalous to play once a week, because it's so good for everyone's morale. It gets to the point where thousands will show up to their shows, and they even "tour" to different sites occasionally as word of the band gets around.

do you have thor reading recs/guides/particular run or era to recommmend to get to know and appreciate the characters?

some thor fans and loki fans may disagree with what im gonna say here BUT. i think the run which best encapsulates why i love the character and the universe, as well as having essentially a very long guided tour through some of the most significant points of the thor sub-universe within the larger MU, is jason aaron's huge thor run from 2012 to 2019 (along with everything else happening in the thor universe at that time, covered by al ewing, kieron gillen, and marguerite bennett in a few also very good spinoffs).

this is the series where the God Butcher comes from, where Jane Foster becomes Thor, where loki is canon genderfluid in Agent of Asgard, where thor fights capitalism, and much more. it's not perfect, especially in terms of characterisation when some characters get thrown between their own miniseries and the main run, but it really encapsulates what I love about thor in his comics, and it's the run that, over the course of collecting the five huge paperback collections u can get it in, made me fall in love with this sub-section of the MU

proper reading order under the cut, plus brief explanations of crossover tie-ins and so on. it looks complicated but it's basically just cos marvel loves to re-start with a new #1 every so often to keep sales up, and because i think you should read the accompanying spinoffs. if you don't want to read the excess spinoffs (although agent of asgard is VERY good) just stick to things with 'thor' in the name.
