Meet Silas, a 7-year-old great-nephew who lives in Las Vegas and positively reveled in his first northern-Michigan experience on the shores of Lake Huron over the weekend.

The extreme heat in Vegas has kept Silas indoors, which is no place for a kid to be in the summer. Here he had a proper romp - splashing around in the lake, collecting rocks, shooting a slingshot, sleeping in the top bunk, dancing with sparklers, setting marshmallows on fire, eating fudge for breakfast, etc., etc., etc. ....

i will never understand how some people can actively shit on something they know someone loves and finds joy in right in front of them. how can you hate something that makes someone else happy in this absolutely fucked world in front of them.

its the passive aggression for no reason i will never ever understand or do to others. if you have a passion, fucking LIVE it. if nothing else, passion gets us through every shitty day, and i will always support it.

He was too little to be wandering the halls that late at night on his own, his sole company a stuffed animal he held to his tiny chest, its fluffy head comfortably tucked under his chin.

Gil-galad thought, as he padded forward towards the lone source of light at the end of the corridor, that the nursemaid who took care of him was nowhere to be seen, but he still wanted that warm glass of milk she gave him when he woke up in the middle of the night. He supposed he would find some in the kitchens, because that was where food was stored, but he didn't know how to get there.

Anyway, he was hungry enough to try to find it for himself, and tired enough to know he needed his glass of milk, perhaps something sweet, too, if he hoped to be tucked in again and rest. He kept being disturbed by nightmares, and the restless energy he felt all around wasn't helping.

The Prince wasn't tall enough to reach the handle, nor strong enough to push the door open, and he pouted. The wood creaked, though, when his little slipper collided with the ornate wood.

That hurt, and Gil-galad let out a resounding curse he had heard a guard say the other day, one that was too inappropriate for someone as young as he was, but that made him giggle because it was a forbidden word.

"Lady Amarië?" he whispered in the way only children whisper. Maybe she was in there, or maybe not, in which case he should go on with his exploration. "Are you there?" Gil-galad said when he reached the next door, this one closed. "I," he jumped from one circle embroidered on the thick carpet to the next; "want," now from flower to flower; "some milk," he chanted, jumping at each word.

It went on for a few repeats of the sentence, at which point Gil-galad just dragged his stuffed animal by one arm behind him, tired and not really knowing how to reach the kitchens on his own or go back to his room.

i moved to sit at a table to help a group of kids with the cutting out they were doing for the arts & crafts thang.

and suddenly she stopped. and she looked at me fully and said "youre so pretty..." AND I NEARLY BURST INTO TEARS. ME???????????? AN ADORABLE LITTLE 7 YEAR OLD GIRL THINKS /IM/ PRETTY??????? AND SHE SAID IT AGAIN LIKE 3 MORE TIMES

and another girl ended up coming over to help someone else at the table with the cutting out. and she talked to the girl who called me pretty (maria) and maria went "youre helping me cut my stuff out arent you cameron :)" and i said "yeah!!"

and maria went "youre so kind... :)" (SHE KEPT SAYING THAT ABOUT MEEEEEEEE🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺OVER AND OVER AGAIN) and the new girl that came over looked at me and said something to maria that i didnt hear. so i asked her what she said

While yes, 12 year olds are way taller than most people are prepared to acknowledge, I feel like the other age bits are just... off? I'm around a lot of kids regularly. Both of my kids were definitely not walking at one. Some of my nephews and nieces were taking those very tentative first steps, but I wouldn't call that "walking"? They just start talking at one and it's really basic stuff.

Also my two year old niece (a toddler by every definition) is absolutely not hip high. None of the 2 - 3 year olds are. I go to daycare centers because of work. I know how big toddlers are?

PSA to fan creators who don't have a lot of regular contact with children: They are almost always bigger than you think. A 1-year-old baby may already be walking. A toddler is likely already hip-high. A 10-year-old may already be taller than at least one of their parents. A 14/15 year old may already have reached their adult height.

surgery needed for 7 year old boy in gaza

i'm making this post on behalf of @its2shimaa. in short, she's been taking care of her sister's 7-year-old son who was orphaned during the war.

shimaa's nephew was diagnosed with cholecystitis and needs surgery to have the gallstones removed from his digestive system.

for this surgery, shimaa only needs to raise $400.
