Six of Swords

This piece is from May 2021 and depicts my first past life who lost four of their children to miscarriages and other common ailments. Two survived, but their eyes are focused on the four they've lost.

I often associate this past life with feathers and wings. In this particular image the feathers are almost like a rash or an infection. In this one, they use their wings to protect themselves and their loved ones from a fate they fear is all too present.

The Six of Swords is about leaving painful memories behind, or ridding yourself of that which no longer serves you. It's been years since I've drawn this but I have not addressed these memories quite yet; they are too painful. Drawing this helped in a bit of catharsis, though.

The 6 of Swords represents a journey. Whether physical or metaphysical, there is a sign of movement in your path. Whatever issue has been keeping you stressed or upset, is coming to a close. With the stress of the situation abating, it will now be easier to focus on how to deal with the issue itself. Take this time to breathe, and decide where you want to be and how to get there from here.

A parallax view wouldn't hurt so change your scenery for a while - even if it's just a picnic in a park or a walk somewhere you haven't yet explored. Your "Ah ha!" or "Eureka!" moment is about to be triggered. The time is ripe for healing, building bridges, and moving forward so, deal with all the aspects you can and move forward with as little “baggage” as possible.

💚 At work, you may be feeling that your job no longer works for you; perhaps you are already in the process of leaving. Whether the job itself is the problem or it’s just time for new challenges, trust that the Universe is directing you to the place where you are meant to be.

With the lions gate portal having just occurred, it’s no wonder to me we’re out here experiencing some of the energy of today’s #dailydraw. I personally don’t believe that one cosmic event will bring to light all our toxic and self-sabotaging behavior, but this #apparitiontarotdeck spread definitely hints at lots of shifts and rebalancing. So let’s get to it . . . More than anything, we’re being asked to spend some time alone today. “Six” cards are all about rebalancing and seeking internal harmony, and in order for that to happen we need some space to process. With the #6ofswords, we’re being invited to do that through mental release. This is a million ways easier said than done, but whenever you catch yourself exhibiting toxic thoughts of self-doubt or imposter syndrome, picture that way of thinking as a knife. With your out breath, imagine blowing or throwing that knife away past the horizon. There’s a lot of great ritual work for releasing modes of thinking and behavior that are harming us, and the cards image supports that. I really recommend trying out a chord cutting ceremony. And if that feels too involved, do this: grab a candle, light it, write what you wish to release on a piece of paper, fold it away from you (because you’re letting that energy go), put it in the fire and watch that shit burn away while you visualize those habits melting or dissolving from your mental landscape. However you end up doing this, the lesson is to let that shit go. A N Y W A Y Z, If the 6 of swords is rebalancing through release of damaging mental blocks and anxiety, then the #6ofwands asks us to rebalance through ringing in the beauty we have inside.
