The clock's 66 is in episode 2
There's a Season 2 poster that shows the sad clock with both hands pointing straight down at VI, and a crisp shadow making the hands look doubled. (I'd first thought the minute hands were absent, but if you really magnify the poster you can see the minute and hour hands are just perfectly overlapped.) It's not just something symbolic from the poster; the same doubled 66 appears on the clock in episode 2.
It's shown in clear focus throughout the scene in which Aziraphale emerges from remembering lying about Job's children and calls for Crowley in a darkly tense way, Jim comes in saying Crowley went away while Aziraphale was thinking, and Aziraphale tells Jim, "You know, you really used to be awful..." Then Aziraphale steps forward and picks up the Everyday record and takes a long look at the address taped to it. It says,
The Resurrectionist
66, Goat Gate
Edinburgh
I still have no idea how to decipher the clock, but this 66 time seems notable because it is immediately followed by the 66 address. It's also the first time we get a long, in-focus look at the clock this season as opposed to short, less-focused glimpses, so it seems likely that this is where we might be expected to notice that something is up with the clock. (We all started noticing the clock because of milking the kiss scene for details.) It's showing a time that obviously can't naturally occur on a working clock, it's got an interesting double-effect shadow, and we'd already been shown this time as a clue of sorts in the promo poster, so this is a moment that is significant. Why is the 66 time shown at this particular moment towards the end of episode 2, and what does it tell us about the clock? I hope we can sleuth it out!
I'm including the Season 2 poster below for reference.

And: No Woman No Cry: My Life with Bob Marley by Rita Marley a memoir of Bob Marley by wife, Rita.
Also heard the people say that the right one of the Catch-22 they see Gabriel García Márquez on the spine (I can't read it :)).
Lord Jim and Treasure Island have also been identified in the previous poster but now are in a different place 🤔👀.
Three books by Jane Austen: Persuasion, Pride and Prejudice and Emma. We have already seen Pride and Prejudice in the previous poster but it was a different edition so Aziraphale has more than one :).

The Sideburns Scheme Post #28
(For reference: The Sideburns Scheme)
Crowley, Good Omens 2, Episode 2, The Clue, shoemaker
...
Hairstyle Notes
The hairstyle is much like the one in the previous scene and when last in this space, or a space very similar to it.
This space is a damaged human-built structure with an open threshold. There is some semblance of a roof.
This hair length and style looks to be the human reading for this minisode. Sitis is the human already occupying the space when Job enters. Both humans in this space believe Crowley to be their human friend, Bildad the Shuhite.
Many angels appear before Crowley enters. Aziraphale enters a little later than the other angels.
Crowley enters the space last. The human children will be transformed later, and based on the available clues, probably entered with Aziraphale.
Depending on the camera angle and lighting, sometimes Crowley's hair looks a little more fluffy on the bottom or a little more red. Overall, I still think the hairstyle is meant to be regarded as the human-space type reading. Otherwise, the variance helps show us that Crowley himself is a dynamic character.
Even though there are more angels than there are humans, the space still gave Crowley a hairstyle most like the one when he first encountered Job and Sitis.
...
Earthly Objects
(For reference: Earthly Objects)
When Job collapses in grief, he touches the Earth itself with his hands.
Various names, numbers, and questions are said. Those are standard dialogue points.
Self-touches are all over the place.
Crowley stands on...something gray and solid.
Paying attention to the pockets...
Gabriel makes a pocket with his hand when he says, "Seven more children."
Crowley makes a pocket with his hand close to when he says, "I am a professional."
With his hands when talking about "twin professions," he is ensuring each hand has the fingers grouped as two together.
Crowley visually pockets himself between Sitis and Job when giving the instructions on how to restore the children. He crosses his wrists in the process. His right hand makes a closed pocket with itself that eventually opens whereas the left hand makes an open pocket with itself.
Once his arms are uncrossed, he makes closed pockets with his hands yet again when telling Sitis to pull out the three ribs.
The wrists cross each other yet again when Crowley gives instructions about a simple embrace. Pockets are made and managed with the hands yet again.
As Job and Sitis embrace, they obscure Crowley completely over the pocket the visual pocket he was in.
After Aziraphale miracles the children back to their human form, the visual pocket between Job and Sitis opens, showing all three children and Crowley. Crowley is then in a pocket between the children, who are in a pocket between the parents.
For me, the most intriguing move is actually what Crowley does after Jemimah hugs her mother. This part is one of the things I know to look for or notice but generally don't know what it actually means. Crowley has his left hand clasped over his right, and the right finger is extending both the index finger and the middle finger, which is generally the signal for "2". This hand position is shown twice.
He had the fingers set as grouped two together earlier in the scene.
Based on what I know of how the Tied Hands retie, they should be retied by now. The best I've got is that the record has 2 "6"s and 2 "G"s, so if Aziraphale is picking up on little details like these, he'll consider them as part of why he should get himself to 66, Goat Gate. If it's not that, it's clearly beyond my ability.
...
Story Commentary
There are 4 unfamiliar angels with Gabriel and Michael. There is no Uriel, no Muriel, and no Saraqael. With no explanation from the story, I've gone with guessing it's a sign of that who shows up when and where among the angels changes with the times.
This scene establishes that Crowley and Aziraphale worked together to perform a trick as far back as 2500 BC. They both knew they wanted to save the children but showed some level of improvisation to get things where they needed to be. They also had to heavily rely on Sitis to trust Crowley in what they were doing.
There was a switch with the ribs and the children.
Sitis communicates to Job with her eyes and tone of voice that he needs to get in on the lie that they are new children, to keep them alive. He eventually catches on, but Enon doesn't. As such, circumstances require Aziraphale to lie in front of the other angels, which he does, putting himself at great risk in front of Crowley.
Crowley silently applauds him in response.
The clues of this scene might be more specific to what happens at the ending of the season overall or solving their own puzzle and beyond what I can do at the time of this post. However, on a more general level, this minisode shows how Crowley and Aziraphale work together this time. They take cues from each other. They make moves. They have a shared goal in mind.
They were successful. The children lived.
The season 2 present day will show how Crowley and Aziraphale work together separately, most obviously during the ball invitations.
When Aziraphale leaves the bookshop and makes his way to the pub for the elevator lift to Heaven, they are also working together separately, but it's not as obvious due to extra complications.
...
Getting back to this minisode scene, it's always struck me as a little odd that none of the angels question what's supposed to happen with the other 4 intended children. Why only 3 at once instead of all 7? It's a non-issue for them. Michael questions the children not being babies but not the number of children there are.
...
I think each minisode is supposed to match a Horseman of the Apocalypse who isn't Death. In this case, this minisode is a match to Famine due to Job's loss of so many of his worldly goods, including things that would feed the family.
...
Aziraphale and Gabriel
After this portion of the minisode concludes, the story takes us back to the bookshop with only Aziraphale. He senses someone nearby and says, "Crowley?"
It's not Crowley. It's Gabriel. That helps establish that Crowley and Gabriel have a similar sense of their presence for Aziraphale. Season 1 showed something similar the first time Gabriel showed up while Aziraphale was eating sushi. Back to this scene, Gabriel informs Aziraphale that Crowley went away.
Other things are said, but mostly, I wanted to bring up the similar sense of presence and that during this encounter, neither Aziraphale nor Gabriel touch earthly objects. The interaction doesn't look particularly deceptive on its own, but it makes me think of the argument scene in the bookshop for the Final Fifteen. That particular scene was, for me, one of the biggest clues about the hidden Earthly Objects game within the story. So, this scene in episode 2 looks like a match to the idea happening there. We'll see something similar at the end of episode 3 with Crowley and Gabriel.
Aziraphale waits for Gabriel to leave before he starts touching earthly objects again where he then touches a chair, the rug by visibly walking forward on it, and picking up the record for a solo set of 3 points.
...
Up next....The Pocket Trick will officially start. I recently updated the main post about the incoming touch to help prepare. I haven't drafted the incoming Crowley S2 Hair post yet and will have an interesting challenge on how to go about such a thing. In the meantime, I recommend at least skimming that updated post about the pocket touch. You can find it here: The Pocket Trick Touch #1 - Triple Part 1 - Between Building Windows.

That's it for this post. Sometimes I edit my posts, FYI.

Supplement two to Part 1. Analogies to "66" and "66"
This post is in Russian/Этот пост есть на русском, здесь.
Preface "Marvelous!" | Part 1 | Supplement one to Part 1
Without first reading that posts there might be some unclear parts in this one.
"Golden Stone, Golden Stars and Goat Gate"
To begin with, this is a dubious take, but I will still share it. Perhaps, the authors, creating parallels, also use consonances. For example, in the scene "Before the Beginning" there is the word Earth, and in the related scene "Conversation with Muriel" I did not find the word Earth. But there is "I was looking at one [book] earlier". In the post "Marvelous!" in the set of pictures I was ashamed to put this "EARlier", but now I decided to admit it. If we also look for consonances, we will completely drown. But here it is to my advantage.
The consonance of gold/golden (gold in the magician's surname Goldstone and the stars on the wall) and goat (in the address of the bar) can also be a hint that the seller's phrase "it's priced at six and two" refers specifically to the bar "Resurrectionists", and not to the card on the hat. Despite my doubts, I decided to add this, because without it the finished composition would not have come together.
I was looking hard for what was truly golden in the Resurrectionists bar? The gold was found, but buried much deeper. Aziraphale, entering the bar, first of all sees a bright jukebox (this is the visual emphasis) with the inscription music, and the angel introduces himself to the bartender as a newspaperman.
I will use the number of stars in the picture in the "House of Cards" section in the second half of the post.
Music! A scene from episode 1 popped into my head, where Crowley is sitting with a newspaper, and a stranger who sat down tells him "Clarinet can make beautiful music".
This phrase is spoken in such a way as to be etched into the viewer's memory!
And then Shax sits down in the stranger's place with his little mirror, and the mirror is also shoved into our eyes for some unknown reason. And it's... gold?
Please, please let it be gold! Opening the frame.
Ah! It's not gold! It's silver. But it has to be gold! How is that possible?! The Good Omens team didn't have a single stray gold mirror in the whole of Great Britain for one humble overseas fan? Is that too much to ask?
Okay, let's dig further. The gates there weren't golden either.
In search of gold and a frame with Crowley's newspaper, I found a post containing a path to solving the mystery about the mirror! A deep bow to Diana, she saved my theory!
In this post https://vk.com/bwlch_bwlkins?w=wall-191981356_4078 Diana writes:
“Then there’s another hint: Crowley discovers Shax without looking at her, he looks into her mirror, through which Shax, in turn, looks at Crowley. Even before the release of the second season, when I saw this shot, I thought that Crowley was looking into Bentley’s mirror. And remember how Madame Tracy saw Aziraphale? Yes, also in the mirror. So, perhaps, the angel and the demon will be able to not only communicate with the help of Bentley, but also see each other.”
And the authors didn't let me down, they gracefully completed the wreath of riddles.
-
Now I'll lay it all out from beginning to end.
I'll start with Shax. Shax's clothes are annoying. The demoness is grotesquely in red from head to toe, but she has a grotesque bow, but these are signs of both Crowley and Aziraphale. And she is Madame Tracy (played by the same actress). Madame Tracy had a mirror, and here it is, finally, golden! (See the paired shots.) It was not for nothing that Shax's mirror was shoved under our noses!
Now we can relax and savor the additions to the Tracy-Shax link. Aziraphale was in Tracy's body, displacing her from time to time. And now Shax has displaced Crowley from his workplace. Tracy was favorably displaced, and Crowley also does not seem to be offended at Shax displacing him, he helps her with advice every now and then.
So, We already have a sequence:
1. Shax has the Silver Mirror.
2. Shax has Madame Tracy.
3. Madame Tracy has the Golden Mirror.
But why did they show Crowley reflected in the mirror? Because Shax took Crowley's place, just as Azirefel took Tracy's place. So the chain lengthens and becomes a closed circle:
1. Crowley and Shax use the same apartment.
2. Crowley is reflected in Shax's mirror.
3. Shax has the Silver Mirror.
4. Shax is Madame Tracy.
5. Madame Tracy has the Golden Mirror.
6. Azi is reflected in Tracy's mirror.
7. Azi and Tracy use the same body.
It is impossible to describe my feelings about this composition of riddles.
And here is an emotional reference to the final scene. We are again confirmed that Aziraphale was extremely smart, as when he found a body to return to Earth and participate in the events. And Crowley is not to blame for what happened in the finale, as when he did not look after the babies, and he may still have to go through hellfire again to participate in the events with Aziraphale.
By the way, even before me, they noticed the consonance of the name Aziraphale and the Azerbaijani embassy, as well as the plumpness and tartan appearance of the stranger who lured us to St. James's Park from the Edinburgh bar. This thread sends us from the stranger back to the Edinburgh Aziraphale.
Well, we've struck gold. So,
the bar at 66 Goat(!) Gate =
Gold(!)stone's phrase ("six and two") +
gold(!) stars (six and two).
At the bar, Aziraphale for some reason tells the bartender a wildly strange phrase: "The Resurrectionists are a pub?" (public house, public establishment, house), which refers to the house of cards not of a journalist, but of a pub bar. I was confused that this seemed like an unnecessary hint, and it spoils the beauty of the analogy, but watch and see, and soon, in this post.
"House of Cards"
I had to google the phrase "house of cards, journalist" because I didn't know what the connection was between them, and the links to the series "House of Cards" took up the entire first page. That is, according to the authors, the connection is obvious. Then I remembered that the parallel about the "house of cards" had been noticed in the fandom before me. Damn, how nice it is to find confirmation of your detective hypotheses!
In addition to the fact that the house of cards has six floors, and two cards act as the seventh floor, it also has six cards at the base. Thus, the "66" on the hat are the stars on the wall (that's one) and the seller's phrase (that's two). And the "66" in the address is the number of floors of the house (that's one) and the base of the house: six in length, six in width (that's two). Two clues for each of Azi's cards.
And there are not just 4 stars on the wall and they are connected not only with Muriel. There are 4 and 4, as a hint to the "quadrant" in "Beginning of Time" and the four red and blue dancers in the theater. Were they useful? Look again at those two frames: Crowley and the red on the right, and Aziraphale and the blue on the left. Remember, this is the key.
There are five matchboxes laid out around the house of cards, just like the stars on the jukebox pediment. This symbolizes that it was in the Resurrectionists bar that Beelzebub took a matchbox for her fly. Here it is, another extra clue that symmetrically spoils the beauty of the analogy of the pair 66 and 66 in Edinburgh with the pair 66 and 66 in the store! The house of cards refers not to the journalist, but to the pub. Such a cherry on the cake is a special thrill for the digger!
--
I mentioned in the main post that the sixes were matched as pairs of pairs. There are two "66" numbers in Edinburgh and the shop. What is that if not a quadrant of the main characters? Azicrow and Nina with Maggie.
-
I'll add to the post that in the Edinburgh pub, the jukebox has five stars on the back wall and five stars on the front. And some of them are red and blue. Want to find two fives in the magic shop yourself? I found them, in two places.
I'll write the answer at the end of the post, it will be useful in one of the next posts about cups.
It turns out I was wrong to put off finding the answer to these stars! They are sending us back to the magic shop so that we can see a clue about where to look for gold.
However, I don't have time to delve into the search for an explanation of why the stars are painted this way. Maybe you can figure it out.
In "Addition One to Part 1" I told you that the "Three Ropes" trick takes us back to the first season and the three babies. But now I noticed that the seller, when he is with three ropes, is shown from a different angle, and a wall mirror gets into the frame! A clue about where to go for the golden mirror! Aziraphale and the seller's back are reflected in the wall mirror. I will prove that the seller personifies Crowley in the post about the cups. But for now, just believe me: in this mirror, we were shown Aziraphale and Crowley at the same time.
I was looking for gold in the scene with the newspaper and Shax, and I wrote without a second thought that the stranger was sending us back to Azi in Edinburgh. He also came like a fool, asked about music, and left. And only now did it dawn on me that he was sending us for a reason! In Edinburgh, these two fives of stars are waiting for us, which lead to the 41st year to the wall mirror and a clue about the first season, in which the gold is hidden.
I wouldn't be surprised if the clarinet plays too. What did Azi bring to the pub? :)
It would also be cool if the silver goat that was hiding the threads to the gold pops up somewhere.
Answer:
I promised readers an answer about where the 2 and 5 are hidden in the magic shop, like stars on a jukebox. Once it appears in the seller's phrase about the price of the trick. And another time - the number of items in the display case where the zombie took the ring that splashed ink. There were two horseshoes and ten rings on the display case.
Next part.

How the historical minisodes could relate to the present-day “mystery” storyline
A close up of this note:
shows this name and address:
The Resurrectionist 66, Goat Gate Edinburgh
“The Resurrectionists” was the name given to the people who collected and sold corpses for medical research in the UK (including Edinburgh) in the 1700s/1800s.
Now I’m just going to speculate wildly:
We know one of the S2 minisodes is set in Victorian times and will deal with grave robbing/resurrectionist exhumations. However, the photo of Aziraphale holding up the record (presumably Buddy Holly and the Cricket’s “Everyday” which was likely inside the box Gabriel arrived with) is in modern times, not Victorian, and tied to the Gabriel mystery. That likely means at least the Victorian events will be referred to/discussed in modern times by Aziraphale and Crowley. Unlike in S1 where the “through the ages” minisode events don’t get brought up (other than the mention of crepes after the Bastille rescue and “I still owe you one”) or at least, don’t directly impact the modern day story/events.
Ruling out time travel for the sake of this speculation (ie let’s assume Aziraphale and Crowley don’t travel back in time after receiving this “clue”) it seems to me that Aziraphale and Crowley are going to be getting clues/info in the modern day which tie directly to some prior adventure they had together in the past, and we (the audience) will get to see the past events as minisodes.
We know there’s three minisodes - the Biblical one, the Victorian one, and the Blitz one. We know (or at least are pretty sure) that the Blitz one is going to be a game-changer re Aziraphale and Crowley’s relationship/feelings. But what if ALL the minisodes are like that? And whoever is sending these “clues” KNOWS that. The sender is forcibly reminding Aziraphale and Crowley about those times where (speculating here) their relationship changed/they grew closer. Maybe the Biblical one is when they stopped seeing each other as enemies/adversaries. Maybe the Victorian one is when they started truly thinking of each other as friends. We (think we) know the Blitz one is when Aziraphale realized/acknowledged to himself that he was in love with Crowley.
So the present-day mystery is going to be about more than a memory-less Gabriel running around naked in London. Someone is letting Aziraphale and Crowley know that they know 1) just how long they’ve been “fraternizing” and 2) that their feelings for each other are more than just friendly. But who?? And why???

Hey!! Can I compel you with Maze/Zey - 26? <3
hi friend!!!! late but here it is! thanks for giving me the chance for writing this ship lmao
the song was bug like an angel, by mitski. ~940w, G, mutual pining. post order 66--i checked the wookie but i haven't read the last repcomm books (and i never will ♥️)
Did you go and make promises you can't keep? Well, when ya break them, they break you right back
---
There’s a clean mug face down on the rack by the sink by the time Maze leaves the bed. It’s still early, the morning sun coming in clear and liquid through the eastern windows. The small house is cold and quiet: Maze rubs at his face, bare feet shifting on the creaking floorboards of their borrowed kar’yai, and doesn’t bother calling out.
He goes back to his room for his boots and a jacket. There’s still caf in the pot on the stove: he tops up Zey’s mug and takes it with him when he leaves the building through the unlocked back door.
The kitchen garden is still waking up: green can be seen here and there, young leaves peeking through the black, half-frozen dirt. The cold cutting wind that rolls down from the north smells of snow: Maze leans his hip against the low wooden gate, sipping at his caf, and breathes it all in.
Patchy, dirty snow still survives on the rough gravel path, on the dry short yellow grass that grows at its sides. Maze cuts across the field at the back of the house, making his way through the sparse veshok forest. Here and then he can see the print of Zey’s cane where he dug it deep into the snow and the mud.
Zey’s wearing a too-small coat over his sleeping clothes, bare ankles too pale under the paler sun. he’s sitting on a big round stone, the snow hastily cleared away, and by the time Zey leaves the trees behind his head is tilted and his hand around his cane.
He’s lost weight in the past few weeks, and his hair and his beard are longer and messier than they ever got during the war, but he hasn’t changed much: he still looks like the proud tall man Zey remembers, and most of the time he behaves like he is still that man.
But somehow, Maze knows better—somehow, and very much despite himself, Maze allowed himself to get to know him, and he knows that the man once known as Jedi Master Arligan Zey is no more.
He leans against the rock at his side, and Zey blinks down at him, shifts a bit to the side; Maze grunts at him in thanks and sips at his caf, hugging himself against the cold, watching the rolling, craggy hills. Patchy snow, yellow dead grass, rotten fences, the ruins of a long-abandoned kar’yai here and there. It looks both old and too new to be true, too new to be good.
Zey’s fingers are cold when he brushes Maze’s. Maze lets him take the caf and stuffs his hands in the pockets of his trousers.
“I wanted to see it. One last time, before I leave,” Zey says. He was never a talker, but he speaks so little now: his deep voice is hoarse and low with lack of use. Maze hums. “How did you find me?”
Maze shrugs. “You’re not hard to find.” He wanted to be found.
Zey hums. He returns his caf to Maze, and Maze finishes it off: it’s no longer warm, just lukewarm, not quite tepid.
The birds are singing. They are somewhere hidden among the branches of the trees, and low in the ground, in the short grass. Now and then, a quick dark shadow bursts into the air, cutting the cutting wind with little sharp wings. Maze has learned to expect them, but he can’t say he is used to them, to it: Mandalore is alive in a way he isn’t sure he enjoys, alive in bursts of alien and unexpected activity. The birds; the bugs. The strills that roam the fields. The little rodents and the alien look in the eyes of the big wild goats. They are cruel, clever beast. Two weeks ago Maze had to help the boys in Kyrimorut bury the carcass of one of the strills: one of the goats had broken its skull open with a kick sometime during the winter, and the spring thaw had released its body to rot and weather. It stunk to high hell, and the ground was still frozen, and in the end they just burned the thing and called it a day.
“You don’t like Mandalore,” Zey says. Maze blinks: he can feel his eyes on the side of his face.
“I like it as much as I like everything else,” he replies. It’s not a lie. Zey snorts.
“Precisely,” he says. He sighs.
He won’t ask Maze to go with him—he knows Maze won’t. He’s had enough of Jedi for a lifetime: he doesn’t know what he wants from his life, but he knows joining Master Altis anad his group isn’t it.
It’d be easier if Zey asked Maze to leave with him anyway. Maze dislikes this push-and-pull, hates the loaded silences and the careful looks. He’d hate them less if he didn’t know perfectly well they are not entirely Zey’s fault.
Zey stands up with a groan. The grey in his hair glints under the sunlight, paints his dark head in silver.
“Let’s go back to the house,” he says, still looking at the field. Maze stands up as well: he forgot his coat inside, and he’s so cold and shivering so bad his muscles hurt.
Zey doesn’t need the help, but when he reaches for Maze’s shoulder, Maze allows it: his hand is warm, and the ground under the veshok trees is porous and full of hidden pitfalls under the snow.

The Resurrectionist Pub
I have a lots of thoughts and observations about the resurrectionist pub lol
okay so first off, I think its going to play a pretty big role in s3; I mean, its called the resurrectionist, and like the second coming is Jesus coming back yeah? Its also got a ton of easter eggs and tie-ins with a lot of what happens in the background of the season.
To start, in an interview with David Tennant, apparently an idea for the sequel title Terry and Neil had tossed around was "668: The Neighbor of the Beast" (hilarious tbh) and the address of the pub is 66 Goat Gate!! I mean, it could just be a little easter egg, but either way i am now INTRIGUED
[Image of the record with "The Resurrectionist/66, Goat Gate/Edinburgh" written on a small piece of paper and taped to it]
I'll add more under the cut
okay so next, when we see the pub, the sign flips and its the Doctor from the grave robbing flashback. Later in he episode, Aziraphale tells Crowley (and us) that this is because that dude killed himself and so they named the pub after him (i guess as a way for his ideas to 'resurrect'?). Why would this information be relevant to us? It seems pretty clear that there is something closely tied to heaven and hell with this pub. I think it is also worth mentioning that in response to this ask, Neil says that they were always going to use the song Everyday for this, because that was the song he and Terry had decided would be best (and funniest) to signify that the end times were near.
To tie this into the actual s1 and s2 lore, I think maybe it was part of the Ineffable Plan that Gabe and Beez would meet here, like this song, fall in love, and tamper with the jukebox as an accidental way of sending a warning. I wish we knew more about the plan that Gabe refused, but alas, I think maybe this meeting place wasn't so random. Also worth noting that the matchbox Gabe used for the fly is from the Resurrectionist pub, and we get this in episode 1:
[Image of the matchbox with: "Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out." Job 41:19]
It seems that they really wanted the audience to read that, but I can't figure out why- even with the job flashback we get later I'm pretty sure nobody was breathing fire. Is it just a funny pun because its matches? why is it pulled from Job (I'm sure there are plenty of other witty bible verses about fire)? Its interesting to me that so many different aspects of s2 are all pointing to this pub. Not to mention that later when Gabe quotes the thing about the stars singing we can literally hear God's voice in unison with his. ((tangential other theory I have- was God trying to speak through him? is the Metatron lying about how close he is to God?))
so, a quick recap, we know that an idea for the sequel novel that was never written was 668: Neighbor of the Beast, and we know that Terry picked out the song Everyday to be the one to signify the end times getting closer. We know that the matches are from this pub and that they reference Job. We know that throughout the season, Gabe is spitting bible verses with God herself in the background. We also know that both the grave robbing flashback doctor guy has ties to the pub. I don't really know where to go from here theory wise, but yeah, there's definitely some juicy stuff coming and I can't wait to make sense of it all next season!! Pls let me know your thoughts as well!!

Good Omens season 2, episode 2! Just gonna link all the previous episodes here, too.
Previous liveblogs: Episode 1
Crowley you leave those goats alone!!
You know what I can definitely see Aziraphale's response to the whole… Job thing being probably the closest he's actually come to Falling himself. Just going "No, fuck this." I imagine this might have been when the Arrangement started proper?
Gabriel that is the most unhinged shelving system I have ever seen, and I've seen Sascha's shelving system in the now-non-canon Gehenna novel.
Aaand there's the stakes.
Oh, Maggie :(
The Resurrectionist at 66 Goat Gate. Mm not ominous at all!!
lmao the Pratchett novel. Couldn't make out the title, kinda hope it's Reaper Man.
Oh no Aziraphale accidentally made a fake dating AU.
"A sudden rainstorm forces them together beneath a canopy, they look into each other's eyes, and realise they were made for each other?" "Sounds a bit unlikely." Well, more wingbrella than canopy ;D
Dear god Crowley would watch Richard Curtis XD
Oh shit I want to read about Jane Austen's other adventures.
That Clue was definitely capitalised XD Oh lmao "well at least don't pronounce the capital letter!" it was capitalised!
Man I kinda feel bad for Jim. And yes I'm calling him Jim right now because he's clearly not Gabriel. …The whole, not being able to remember who he is because his mind isn't big enough kind of reminds me of Donna not being able to stay Doctor-Donna, actually? I wonder if Tennant had input there in the script, or if Gaiman based it on that?
The goats!!
"Can I be a blue one? :3" Bless, a baby scaley XD
Oh, Aziraphale. Wait until you discover sushi XD
Whales are pretty cool.
Job and family are having the weirdest days and also what the fuck are those 'ribs' XD
"You have my word as an angel." And thus Their Side begins!
Our car, Aziraphale? XD
Tragically The Crow Road got trounced by The Bad Beginning in the book first line tourney but I still maintain "It was the day my grandmother exploded" is a corker of an opening line.
Paused to take a squiz at the books. I can make out… something, something, No Woman No Cry, The Crow Road, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time (ew, loathe that book), Catch-22, can't catch the title but it's Marquez so it's probably One Hundred Years of Solitude, something, 1984, The Big Sleep, the Bible, Great Gatsby, Catcher in the Rye, something, something either by or about Herzog, can't make out the rest.
"It was a nice day." …And that… is Good Omens XD Well that's meta!
A demon who's just a little bit nice, and an angel who's just a little bit disobedient, doesn't sound too lonely together :) Poor Aziraphale, I can understand him feeling freaked, but you know, I think they can make this work!

Okay hold up hold UP. What does this MEAN?!
I had the feeling something was strange about Maggie when she made the spelling error in her note and when she went from being so sweet and soft-spoken to mouthing off the demons and flipping them the bird. Like, where did that come from? It was a complete personality change.
And I mean… I know they wanted to reuse the actresses so it might not be a true connection… but Maggie the actress did previously play a Satanic nun who dedicated her life to bringing about Armageddon by helping “deliver” the Antichrist. That nun died… But Maggie the character keeps getting sent records from a place called The Ressurectionist. Like, that’s in Scotland. She’s in London. (Edinburgh to Soho is like 7 hours away by car.) Like, there have to be other record shops that are closer. So why send them to her?
Jim said, during a Gabriel Memory moment, “Every day it’s getting closer,” and that’s the line from the song, sure, but it also had a more ominous message about the apocalypse. Every day it’s getting closer…
The Ressurectionist at 66 Goats Gate keeps sending that song to Maggie. Who makes spelling errors like the demons. Who was bold and snarky for the first time we’ve seen in front of the demons. Also, when she was walking down the street with demons behind her, how did she not notice? Crowley was literally shouting at them, and she didn’t even flinch. Almost like… being around demons doesn’t bother her. Almost like it’s normal. Almost like… she’s spent time in hell.
She could be a demon. Or half-demon.
Or maybe the satanic nun died and went to hell but she wasn’t tortured the same way other humans are, because she was a servant to their cause… so they resurrected her instead.
…
That’s probably way out of left field, but there’s something here.
Do you want to know what keeps me up at night?
That one red light on the left.

Part 1. On unprofessionalism
This post is in Russian/Этот пост есть на русском, здесь.
The analysis is based on S2 Episode 4, the 1941 flashback. As a preface, you can read this post.
In this post, I will be going nuclear on the scene where Aziraphale dropped objects in the magic shop in 1941, breaking it down into tiny bits. Ready? So, let’s blow this baby up shall we? I am going to show you the parallels that exist in these scenes.
Get ready, this part is not going to be very pleasant to read, because we will have to admit that the angel was UNprofessional for a while. But please bear with me! I love Aziraphale just as much as you do! And in fact, in the second part I will discuss how he will be dramatically transformed. I will sing his great praises when the time comes. But for now I need to prove to you that the parallels about his UNprofessionalism are not imaginary to us, they exist. Then you will believe me when I begin to assure you that the parallels about his Professionalism are not imaginary to us either, they exist, they were laid down by the clever Good Omens team.
Let's start with the moment in the book when Aziraphale and Crowley are trying to figure out what performance for Azi to give in the West End. Because the angel is, frankly, NOT a professional. So first, Aziraphale shows Crowley a trick with coins. It immediately reminds me of the scene from season one where Azi pulled a coin out from behind Crowley's ear, and Crowley begged the angel not to do tricks at all. Now, when Crowley says that this trick with coins is too small, Azi replies with the formula from the apology dance: "You’re right." Literally. Like, you were right, Crowley. I was wrong in season one, when I started doing tricks at Warlock's birthday party. It was NOT professional.
So, now off to the magic shop. Azi in the magic shop dropped things in three different places with one awkward movement. My insight into this short scene began with Aziraphale's words to the magic seller: "No, I need something show-like, like these beauties!" Wow, that's his line about Bentley! Did you recognize it? "We have a car. Here. Our beauty!" Azi adoringly picks up the "four rings" trick. Aziraphale and Bentley understand each other well and love each other tenderly.
Come on, tell me that these four rings are not four Bentley wheels! Who among you is brave? Ha! Next are three sets of falling objects, let's not mince words, let's call them directly: "fails", I don't mean this with hate, let's just admit the obvious. And let's continue to enjoy the details, as nice and accurate as S1 prophecies".
Fail 1.
First, Aziraphale plays with the rings rather clumsily, just like he drives, right on the wrong side of the road! Then Azi drops the rings. We were even shown both times how Crowley looks skeptically at this outrage.
And Azi is also stupid in the Bentley when he needs to lie to Shax, who sat down next to him. He actually lets the Bentley out of his hands, as well as the rings, inviting a hostile person into the car.
Fail 2.
Azi destroys a house of cards. The house has six floors, plus a seventh floor consisting of two cards. (As for me, the numbers 6 and 2 are observed.)
The second time two sixes appeared in the same scene literally just now, in the seller's phrase about the "box with a spring" trick: "For the price of only two and six." Since the phrase is not an object, the authors support it with gold stars on the wall opposite the entrance, of which there are two and six in the frame.
So, there were two sixes in the shop and in the Resurrectionist pub. You remember how Edinburgh has two "66"? Azi goes to the Resurrectionist pub. The address of that pub was persistently shown to us on the Everyday record associated with Gabriel: "Edinburgh, Goat Gate, 66".
I decided that these “two sixes” in the address correspond to the sixes in the seller's phrase (“two and six”) and on the wall, because the pub is also a seller and walls. We see the second "66" on Azi's hat; they are written on the "journalist's ID". It is logical then that the second sixes are a house of cards. What is the connection between cards and journalism? Voila! It is! "House of Cards" is a famous TV series about journalists.
(You know, I just don’t know how to convey to you how emotional I am! Imagine: an hour ago I noticed that analogies about “66” exist at all. I knew the address of the bar and the card on the hat, but when I recounted the floors of the house in search of these “66” in the scene of things falling!.. I wondered if, besides Bentley, there were analogies between the three stupidities with things falling and the three failures during the trip to Edinburgh. And just half an hour ago I realized that there were two double sixes in both the magic shop and in Edinburgh. And I tried to compare which was which. And it matched! It was planned!)
So, here's the parallel in "fail #2" in terms of emotions: in the Resurrectionist pub, we see the second instance of Aziraphale behaving incredibly naive, like a newbie! The fandom had already noticed that something was wrong here. They were suggesting that maybe he was pretending for some reason? He was literally like Muriel, who behaves incredibly naively when she first comes to a bookshop.
I’m going to propose that Azi was NOT pretending in "The Resurrectionist"! No, he was sincerely being stupid! Look, here it is, the analogy: when Azi dropped everything, the magician made a well-founded conclusion that Azi was just a "talented amateur". So the viewers, based on the angel's trip to Edinburgh, also felt disappointed and decided in the heat of the moment that he was no good for anything. But no way! The angel will still have a blast, I guarantee it, get some popcorn! The angel's former UNprofessionalism only leads everyone into a disappointing misconception for now. The Good Omens team have disguised what Azi will actually be capable of, but provide clues to solving the story and their visual puzzles.
In the shot with the house of cards, the rope also catches the eye. It has the shape of a twisted snake and at the same time - a cylindrical well of the pit into which this snake falls. And in texture it resembles a hangman's noose. But I'm a bit scared to think in this direction. It seems to be a reference to how Crowley was dragged to Hell because of the "resurrectionists" - Elspeth and Morag. The meaning of the tarot card “The Hanged Man” may be relevant here - please have a Google.
In the shot with the house of cards, stars are also visible on the walls. "It's not just some fancy wallpaper!" - angel Crowley was indignant about his stars in the Beginning of Time. In the previous chapter, I proved the connection between the scene "Before the Beginning" (episode 1) and the scene "Conversation with Muriel" (episode 6).
What is the connection here, you ask?
Well, here it is! Creation of stars → stars on the wall → stars in the frame with the house of cards → the house of cards is equal to Azi's attempt "at journalism" → the attempt brings to mind Muriel. Here you have the connection of the stars with Muriel through the mention of Crowley, because the rope-snake is also in this frame.
Remember Crowley's "Have a gold star" to Muriel? This is the phrase that underlies my parallel between Muriel and Aziraphale himself. Azi! Get a star for unprofessionalism in Edinburgh! You really are as silly as Constable Muriel! But don't go too far from the bookshop, we may still need you to run it like a boss. (This applies to both of you!)
Let's move on.
Fail 3.
Aziraphale drops items from the shop assistant's table. The bell falls into the ring formed by the tail of the snake figurine. (Actually, it's not a bell, but a glass, but that's for another time.) Bells - they ring. And anyway, everything there rings loudly when it falls.
Well, what do we have left in Edinburgh? Yeah, Azi calls his Crowley for some reason and is also terribly stupid in this conversation, not saying anything of substance.
That's it! We've mastered the episode with the falling things. The topic of UNprofessionalism ends here. But what follows is also interesting!
Let's move on.
-
Then the magic shop owner presents a trick with three ropes. For some reason he suddenly calls the smallest rope a baby-piece, and the ropes in his hands become so identical that you can even mix them up. And then he offers Aziraphale: "Now this is perfect for a talented amateur such as yourself". Azi tells him he is a professional, not an amateur.
Of course, our angel, you tricked Nefertiti with a caraway seed and three improvised cups! Not like some who couldn't handle three babies. Do you hear me, Crowley? You're an amateur, that's who you are. Oh, I'm beside myself, what a handsome man Aziraphale is emerging, I just can't! This opposition is a harbinger of Azi's Professionalism, which I promise to tell you about. And there, in the final scene of the series, everything will also be in accordance with this hint: Azi is great, and Crowley is not guilty of anything.
Once Crowley said to Azi in the back room of the bookstore about Muriel: "I don't know how you have lot managed to stay in charge all this time?" And Azi to this: "I'm not sure we have? have we?" And indeed, in the story of the replaced Antichrist, Heaven did not exactly win, and neither did Hell. Everyone screwed up as best they could.
But when Azi and Crowley come to this magic shop in the present day to invite the new salesman to a meeting, he says: “Under no circumstances can I there be for tonight. It is my wedding anniversary and I am taking my beloved spouse out to dinner.” Well, at least someone will look at each other lovingly with glasses in their hands on the ruins of a local zombie apocalypse in a particular shop!
Congratulations, you’ve made it! I'm done with the parallels about Aziraphale's failures.
But now the story of Aziraphale's development as a Professional begins, full of the same mind-blowing parallels. The Bullet Catching Trick is coming! Continued here.
But before I move on to "Catching the Bullet", I will devote the next two chapters to equally interesting finds of stunning beauty, connecting the incident in the magic shop in 1941 with the angel's trip to Edinburgh. Read on if you want to see how flawlessly the analogy between the two scenes is built.

Chapter 66: The Queen’s Inheritance (V)
When Qi Leren was held in Ning Zhou's arms, he couldn't stop loving this person.
He thought that he could never give Ning Zhou up. If he couldn’t stand beside Ning Zhou, he would be terribly lonely and desperate.
"Power comes at a price," Ning Zhou whispered in his ear. "If I finally lose myself and become the devil I fear and hate most... If one day that happens, you must... kill me."
Qi Leren's chest seemed to be struck hard by a heavy hammer, making him breathless and pained. His bitter tears burst out at once. He put his forehead on Ning Zhou's shoulder and shook his head hard. At this moment, he knew clearly that he couldn't do it.
He was not the saint Maria. He couldn't kill his most important person in order to protect humanity. He was just an ordinary selfish person. He could only try his best to prevent Ning Zhou from falling, even if he has to sacrifice his own life to do it. But if one day the world and his lover were placed at opposite ends of the same scale, the scale would only sway and tilt towards his lover.
Qi Leren, who was driven to despair by this cruel fate, even thought, what did world peace have to do with him? Who would be grateful to a saint who had fallen into evil? If Ning Zhou really did this, would he have to kill Ning Zhou for the sake of "justice"?
"If there is such a day, I will accompany you." Qi Leren choked and said, "You must, you must not leave me."
Qi Leren knew what kind of person Ning Zhou was. He had long been aware of Ning Zhou's personality of self-sacrifice and dedication. After suffering from demonization, this personality had even tilted in the direction of self-destruction.
Ning Zhou could sacrifice himself for others, but he didn't want others to do this for him. He regarded giving as God's reward, and never considered getting a reward. He doesn't want to drag anyone down. If one day he really fell down, he would definitely let go of his hand before falling into hell, and let the person he loved stay in the world.
Because he firmly believed that this was better for Qi Leren, but for Qi Leren, he wanted to be with the person he loved more, and he didn't care whether he was human or a devil, and whether this was the world or hell.
Ning Zhou didn't answer. Just like when they had talked on the balcony that night, he didn't answer.
But this time, Qi Leren couldn't bear it anymore.
"I'm telling you seriously that I don't accept your self-righteous decision." Qi Leren broke free from Ning Zhou's hug and said to him with anger for the first time, "You think it’s good for me, but have you ever thought about how I feel?"
Ning Zhou was silent for a long time. After a long time, he sighed and said to Qi Leren, "Look at your feet."
Qi Leren turned his head and looked down at the altar. More than half of the temple of this cult ceremony had collapsed: the had dome collapsed, the columns had collapsed, and everything had collapsed slowly and inexorably. After the time for the Prophet's Heart ended, the white flowers all over the ground changed back to their original appearance—the broken arms and limbs and dripping blood were all over the place, which were bloodier and more horrible than the slaughtered Valentine tribe.
The blood foaming from the corpses’ mouths made the acid in his stomach churn. Under the tense environment just now, Qi Leren hadn't noticed this, but now when he carefully looked at this piece of hell on earth, he still couldn't bear to look closely and averted his eyes.
Ning Zhou was not surprised.
He hadn't been with Qi Leren for a long time. Most of the time, they had still been far away from each other. There were only the few days since he had really confessed his heart. But he knew what kind of person Qi Leren was. He is brave and strong. Most of the good qualities of human beings could be found in him, but this couldn’t hide that he was a naive young man who had grown up sheltered.
He must have had a warm family, parents who loved him, mentors and friends along the way, and he had lived happily for the first half of his life, so he learned how to love others generously.
Beloved children would become excellent people when they grew up. Their view of the world was gentle, and they had a childlike innocence towards cruelty. Their love for the world was selfish. They loved easily and hated easily. Once they were hit, it was too easy for them to turn good love into deep hate.
Qi Leren had seen the cruelty of the Nightmare World. He had not seen the real terror, and he had not defeated the evil in his heart, so he would not know what it was like to still love the world after suffering.
He felt that he couldn't kill Ning Zhou, and would rather go down with him, but he also hadn't seen a Ning Zhou who had lost himself in his original force, killed innocent people, and even destroyed the world. His determination was just naive self-motivation at this moment.
"You see this ceremony. Such things happen every day in the hell of the underworld, ones more cruel than this. Everything you can imagine, what you can't imagine... is happening. You will never like all this," Ning Zhou said.
He would only slowly collapse in disgust, or become evil himself.
Qi Leren choked. He forced himself to stare at the blood on the ground and a tentacle at his feet that had not been burned away. Every raised lesion on it was filled with disgusting mucus. As Ning Zhou said, he would never like it.
Just like he could strive to be strong in order to survive, and even learn to kill people, but he didn't like it.
The life he liked was the life he had once had, not the daily bloodshed in the Nightmare World. In the dead of night, he would also think of his parents. They only had one child. If he died here, he would never go back...
"Let’s go back. These things can be thought about slowly, and this half-field is about to collapse." Ning Zhou wiped off the blood on his hands and pulled Qi Leren down the damaged steps of the altar.
Qi Leren was silent, with his head down, and his boots stepped on the blood that splashed like a pool of water, making him hold his breath subconsciously. In this dim temple, everything was destroyed and ruined. When going out of the temple, Qi Leren suddenly remembered the mysterious sacrifice that had destroyed the ceremony before, and immediately went back to look for him.
"He left," Ning Zhou said, as if he knew what he was thinking.
"Left? Can you leave here?" Qi Leren asked in a low voice.
"I need to find out who this person is," Ning Zhou said. Taking Qi Leren forward, there were traces of a violent breakthrough at the edge of the half-field. The passerby had hit this half-field with his own half-field—this simple and crude method was very dangerous, because the half-field was very fragile before it was completely condensed. It was like two eggs colliding with each other. No one can be sure which one would be broken, or if the two would break together.
"That man just now... was very strange," Qi Leren said. "Did he intentionally mix into the cult sacrifice group to stop the ceremony and save them?"
Ning Zhou shook his head: "He was not here to save anyone."
That man had had no kindness or pity for the innocent people here. He was like a tiger who challenged the hunting tiger king in order to overthrow the position of the king of the jungle. It was not his original intention to save the goats who had escaped from danger. It was just a coincidence.
Qi Leren also felt the difference in that man, and he grinned: "He’s a strange person, but I saw his weapon... Is he the one who fought against Ashley before?"
"It's him," Ning Zhou said with certainty.
Qi Leren had a hunch that he would meet this person again.
The two men went out from the broken part of the half-field that was about to collapse, instantly returned to the sloped building, and then walked towards the Trials Court’s headquarters.

"The worshippers of Utopia are getting more and more rampant," Celia said with a frown after hearing Qi Leren’s retelling of this cult sacrifice.
"Utopia is the Devil of Power’s field? What method did she use to sway the worshippers?" Qi Leren asked curiously.
He knew that with the Slaughter Secret Society of the Devil of Slaughter, by joining the organization and gaining recognition, members would have the opportunity to be given a powerful seed of slaughter, and could even be transformed into a demon. This was very attractive to ordinary people, so there were countless players and aborigines who joined in wave upon wave. However, Qi Leren still had little knowledge of what Utopia was.
"It’s said that as long as the monster guarding the gate of Utopia is summoned and given a good meal, it will generously open the door and let worshippers enter Utopia, where there is no death, no worry, no fear, and people can live a happy eternal life from now on," Celia said.
Qi Leren turned his head silently and complained to Ning Zhou, who was silent on the side: "They must be out of their minds?"
"...Hmm," Ning Zhou said.
"How can they believe that they can get what they want through this wicked ceremony? If nothing else, is the Devil of Power a kind person? Is she doing this to do good deeds?" Towards these idiotic fanatical worshippers, Qi Leren couldn't help but feel like he had a higher IQ.
Celia looked at the ripples in the cup of black coffee she held, and sighed lightly: "If you’re just an ordinary person, have no talent, and aren’t very brave, you don't know if you’ll still be alive tomorrow. You watch your relatives and friends die one by one, but there’s nothing you can do. Where do you want to pin your soul so it can breathe? People always have to believe something in order to forget the pain and suffering in front of them."
Qi Leren opened his mouth, but swallowed his words back.
He wanted to ask why they didn't work hard, but he felt that the question was like "why don't you eat more meat." Would hard work definitely have results? Even Qi Leren himself wasn’t sure. But if you didn't work hard...
Qi Leren tensed his face slightly. He looked at Ning Zhou, who had taken on too much burden, and thought: If you don't work hard, you will only sink forever into your destiny.
One day he would untie Ning Zhou and make him happy. Happy and free.
He believed that someday, this day would come.
