MOTHER TONGUE
(Part 2)
Tumblr media
Fandom: Stranger Things
Pairings: NONE
Words: 472
Description: Max is curious
Part 1:
"What was that?" Asked Max.
Billy set down his weights and turned around to face the younger girl. He quirked a brow and raised his shoulders in confusion.
"How you were talking with Robin, what was it?" She asked softly.
Billy tensed up immediately and looked around the room checking for others even though he very well knew no one else was home. He spoke quietly, his usual bite not present.
"I um... R-Russian, my mom taught me. Listen Max, you can't tell Neil okay, whatever you do he can't know." His hand shook gently and Max looked conflicted.
"Why? Doesn't he know you speak Russian?" Her head tilted to the side in question.
"Yeah, that's the problem." He scoffed, crossing his arms and staring at the ground.
"What do you mean?"
"He doesn't like it when I speak... that way. He got rid of almost everything my baba gave me, said he 'didn't want no commie' for a son. My mom was Russian, Neil didn't like that either. Please don't tell him, it was just a slip of the tongue, a reflex." His voice shook as he defended himself.
"I get it, I won't say anything." He sighed in relief. "As long as you teach me some." Billy smiled to himself and with a soft chuckle he nodded.
"Spek- onya notché."
"Спокойной ночи." Billy repeated patiently.
"Speck-onya notché." He laughed softly at her accent, it was very... American.
"Yeah shitbird, it's close enough." She smiled brightly, shinning with pride.
Billy leaned back into the couch, he liked this more than he'd admit, teaching someone Russian reminded him of his mother. How fluently she'd speak, like a flowing river, never faltering.
"Hey Billy, what's my name in Russian?" Max leaned forward and asked sweetly.
He cocked a brow and gave her an odd look.
"Max." He deadpanned. She sulked back a bit biting her lip she looked up again.
"Can you give me a Russian name? Please." He sighed and rubbed his face.
"Fine. Ummm... Mishka. Your name is Mishka." He said exasperatedly. Max just smiled even brighter.
"What does it mean?"
"Little bear."
"What's your name in Russian."
"Boleslav, it means great glory. They shortened it to Billy. I better never hear you call me that." He snapped, his usual fire dimmed. Max smiled and giggled, repeating the name in her head.
"Can you say something to me in Russian?" He sighed but complied none the less.
"привет, меня зовут Билли." He said offhandedly.
"Wow! What does it mean?" She questioned happily.
"Hi, my name is Billy." The sound of a car rumbling close quieted the pair.
Neil must be home, Billy's face fell. He turned back to Max with a serious expression.
"Remember, you can't say anything." She nodded sternly in agreement as a frown painted her features.

Did you see that? I could have sworn that I just spotted [ SUMMER BISHIL ] ducking into the shadows. Oh, it was just [ BRIAR PAUZIÉ ]. They’ve always been kind of odd. You know, I’ve heard rumors that they are actually a [ VAMPYRE ] and work as a [ NIGHTCRAWLER and DOCTOR ]. I don’t know if that’s actually true, but I do know that they are PROVOCATIVE & MAGNETIC, which is nice, but they also are INFLAMMATORY & HEDONISTIC when you piss them off.

QUICK FACTS & HEADCANONS ❦ Dominates the night shift schedule at the hospital, much to everyone’s awe and relief.
❦ After participating in various Renaissance celebrations, throwing herself into international city nightlife, and an extensive 1920s partying stint, she doesn’t find any appeal in introducing foreign upper and downer substances into her system. Drinking is not a comfort habit she ever developed, having died before she was able to develop a fondness or crutch on such things.
❦ Similarly, she doesn’t find much enjoyment in music. Classical, she associates with her horrendous excuse of an uncle. Pop and bass heavy numbers are too stimulating. Atmospheric nature sounds or the hum of overlapping conversations soothes her best. The only genre exception, if one could call it that, would be bard compositions or medieval instrumentals, since she has positive memories of her time in England.
❦ Is indifferent towards the supernatural elements of the world. She tolerates each equally, though is most wary of fire wielding witches and young vampyres. The level of volatility she has encountered with the two manifestations left an unforgettably unfavourable impression upon her memory — she possesses no interest in re-hashing old wounds nor maturely turning the other cheek. In her mind, both are best avoided altogether lest irreversible mistakes be made.
❦ Has a tendency to use very dated phrases or insults that don’t always age well or translate into the zeitgeist’s vernacular.
❦ Irate at all times, simmering beneath the surface, but has grown so adapted to the perpetual persistence of the feeling she appears entirely placid at face value. A few lifetimes of trial and error and discipline has equipped her with the knowledge that it serves no one to betray the tumultuous nature of her inner workings through body language or unnecessarily drawing attention to herself. She’s well-aware nothing about her situation (past and present) can be changed by letting any impulsive immature desires run rampant. Only the sharpness of her tongue provides the occasional preview of her bitter and wrathful edges, to those paying close enough attention, exclusively reserved for the informal company (AKA the presence of any supernatural being).
❦ Whilst entirely professional in her workplace, she has her moments of despair if triggered by a sensitive circumstance. Usually it revolves around encountering children burdened with a terminal illness or catastrophic injury that cannot be helped, despite all modern medicine’s best efforts. When an innocent can’t be saved. Neglectful guardians/foster figures evidently just invested in the money aspect of fostering and not their child’s health are no better. To avoid unpacking her own personal baggage around such issues and the self-reflection required to adequately process her emotions into any other form but frustration, she has falls into an episode of madness. It’s almost as if she reverts to her 14th century deathbed’s self except empowered by mobility, wherein she’s nothing but mercurial, broody, and intolerant until the haze wears off and she resumes her regular routine. Usually she can anticipate the bad news/encounter before the flare begins and she can identity precisely when it is time to carefully isolate and distance herself from others.
❦ Is unaffected by the sight and scent of blood, proudly so. Additionally, she’s quite the purist when it comes to the blood she will consume, preferring to only engage with the healthiest or privileged of sources — usually someone rich, upper class, who can afford to lose a little energy now and then. Outside her practice, when it comes to feeding, alongside an aftercare dose of glamour, she still likes to politely siphon blood with the butterfly needles (a stash kept on her at all times). Doing so leaves minimal trace, rather than causing a puncture with her own teeth — it’s a chosen boundary, believing it separates her from ever stooping to savage animalistic urgency.
FULL BIOGRAPHY
Known by a multitude of names over her 625 years of “life”, once upon a time, Briar was known as Fabrizia. Born in the late 14th century Florence during the Italian renaissance, it was a time eventually celebrated for the many of the scientific, artistic and cultural advancements. However, in its early stages, there were more obstacles than rewards faced by lower class citizens. Both her parents were struggling artists, additionally her father taking on a job as a textile worker after she was born in order to keep their family afloat.
Fabrizia spent most of her childhood years in the shared studio of her parents. She was always naturally curious, growing up to mimicking their artistic gestures on canvas scraps. As stubborn as she was creative, often Fabrizia would stay up late into the night alongside their candlelit figures, awaiting the moment exhaustion finally caused their hands to tremble and officially announce bedtime. She was an adored daughter, inspiring both her mother and father to keep working hard despite the lack of immediate payoff. One day, they hoped to earn enough that slaving away all day would no longer be necessary. In the meantime, idyllic family life was put on hold.
When Fabrizia entered adolescence, she began to show signs of sickness. Modern medicine would have been able to identify it was unnaturally high exposure to the toxic fumes and particles let off by the compounds in her parents’ cheap yet vivid paints - no match against her weak constitution. Soon, her presence became too disruptive in the studio. The volume of her coughs, fidgeting, and whining of feverish discomfort made her a nuisance to paint alongside.
When it was gently yet adamantly advised she spend time outside with the neighbourhood children, Fabrizia threw the first of what would become a chain of tantrums. Her father, more stern and stronger than mother, took matters into his own hands and contacted his brother across the city - Fabrizia’s uncle, Lorenzo - a struggling composer at the time. The task of babysitting her was reluctantly taken on, but due to his craft being less sensitive than the focus of her parents’ skillset (plus the handsome sum put on offer each session despite her family’s poverty) made it an offer hard to refuse.
Lorenzo’s efforts of keeping her hidden inside to avoid local ridicule over her ill state did nothing to assist in the speed at which further symptoms manifested. Her parents knew they couldn’t yet afford to get her the treatment she needed, and neglected to address her increasing list of health problems in the hopes that she would grow out of them. An art sale was just around the corner that promised connections could be made that would be enough to sustain them for many years to come. Assuming she could hold on a little longer, trusting Lorenzo’ abilities as her primary guardian, they turned away from their daughter’s mysterious ailment to focus on their work.
Fabrizia’s teen years only ushered in further health deterioration, until her uncle - highly religious, adhering strictly to the belief that ‘God has a plan for everyone’ - could finally take no more and brought her to a strange decrepit church on the outskirts of town. Deeming her possessed by something unholy, she spent several months under the care of nun-like figures who laced anything that graced her lips with pernicious doses of arsenic; every ounce of water, broth, and handmade medicinal syrups.
Fabrizia returned home sicker, but in too frail a state to do much of anything. Bittersweetly, in the time she was absent, her parents had indeed successfully earned enough money to be able to further address her needs and swiftly admitted her to a hospital. They didn’t know it would be the last time they would see any real life in their daughter’s eyes. Words like “lunacy” and “hysteria” haunted the air around Fabrizia as much as the unfamiliar and identical series of masked faces. It was impossible to keep track of the time that passed there. Experiments which led to pain and numbness saturated her days, which turned to weeks, maybe months…
Fabrizia was returned to her family’s home, in an indefinite catatonic state until the one (un)fateful day her uncle paid a visit, bringing with him a “special” priest. She could only follow the mysterious man with her eyes, barely registering it as peculiar when he dipped out of sight by her neck. Her vitals had been checked countlessly over the years. However, it wasn’t the press of fingers that awaited her this time - but fangs.
Fabrizia died in 1425, re-emerging from the earth in a frenzy of confusion, lithe movement, and ability she had not experienced in years. Only the face of the so-called priest remained nearby, explaining to her what had happened and what was expected of her henceforth. The impulse to hurt him felt suddenly stifled by a confounding sense of loyalty. Instead, she channeled her energy into the unfortunate strangers passing nearby. Once her hunger was curbed, a good time later, she demanded to see her uncle - the cause of this shift. Cloaked by a new moon, she located her uncle at his Florence home. At first sight, he called her reanimation miraculous. She called him dead.
For a long while Fabrizia begged to be destroyed by her maker, tried to step into the sun, tried to break any law she knew of - but every time, an inner subconscious and unbreakable instinct to survive forbade her from proceeding beyond an irreversible point. Fabrizia felt only rage and resentment for her fate, her instinct to consume blood not aligned with her disinterest to continue walking upon earth. She developed the habit of starving herself until forced to feed in a blind frenzy - after each encounter, “waking” to behold the damage she had caused and realising she was no better than the selfish and cruel man who had sentenced her to this fate. In an effort to protect hurting any more innocents and curve her bloodlust, she began working at the Ospedale degli Innocenti where she bided her time taking care of abandoned and orphaned children, developing discipline. It was easier to resist and protect weaker bodies - less appealing in their malnourished state. Only their abusers received harm, if she could track them down in the span of a single evening.
Decades of service later, she finally plucked up the courage to seek out her family, only to learn that too long had past - time no longer meant what it used to - and not only had her lower class parents progressed in the world well enough to become aristocrats, but they had died 30 years earlier. Only distant family members remained, none of them recognising her with anything but fear and distrust.
In honour of the discovery, Fabrizia processed her mourning by changing her name to her mother’s - Beatrisia. Soon after, Beatrisia went on to explore the lively culture of England’s Renaissance. There she learned skills of metal smithing, carpentry, and ceramics. She found satisfaction in tasks which were long but with purpose, helping time not feel like the monotonous imprisonment it had become.
From England, she followed word of the witch hunts causing unrest in Sweden and Finland. What began as a morbid curiosity to witness the stupidity of mob mentality humans soon progressed into a deal of sorts. Beatrisia would locate convicted witches in small untraceable towns and ask if she could feed on and turn them, the following night letting them have revenge on those who wrongly outed them. Beatrisia found the bond created in the process of creating a progeny bewildering and nauseating, but - for better and worse - the newborns’ irresponsibility made them easy targets, insatiable desires for blood foolishly leading them away from the safe cover of their small countryside towns to city limits that quickly captured and killed them for good.
The loss of the vivid connection hurt, at first. But Beatrisia learned to dull the sensation, as she did with most feelings. Through the maker-fledgling connection, Beatrisia had a taste of the agony that occurred and refused to subject herself to the seemingly easy escape route. After enduring the pain of her human life, she would never again suffer in order to die - it would be on her own terms, and it would be done well.
The agreement to turn supposed criminals into vampyres served both Beatrisia’s disdain for witch-hunting and allowed enigmatic human women, wrongly deemed witches, to get revenge. However, upon one significant instance, there was no error in the town’s uproar. An authentic witch named Sigrid was on the verge of having her freedom literally burned at the stake. Sigrid ruled over the fire element; a wild and beautiful woman that clearly needed no saviour. Yet, Beatrisia was still inclined to give her the same offer - immortality and vampiric ability for the sake of revenge. Sigrid was unlike the others, she was powerful, cunning and accomplished. It was as if she’d seen Beatrisia coming. Sigrid introduced a new deal; what if she henceforth travelled with Beatrisia as her self-nominated blood bag, making herself useful. In exchange, she would help Beatrisia find legitimate witches, and truly free them.
Over time, the lines of their arrangement blurred - first through infatuation, then love. Beatrisia eventually refused to feed on Sigrid any longer, desiring a different sort of intimacy. The two swiftly became lovers, intertwined and unstoppable for several years until the bond was abruptly severed after an explosive argument when Sigrid’s freedom plans included mercilessly killing village children descendant from hunters and Beatrisia’s death wish were brought to light. Irreconcilable differences which saw Sigrid erupting into infuriated flames which Beatrisia could not halt, nor desired to prevent. Her first experience with romantic love was one furiously stripped away from her, watched turn from flesh and bone to ash. But Beatrisia learned to dull what being heartbroken felt like, as she did with all other feelings. Loneliness always suited her best.
Seeking distance from any companionship for the forceable future, Beatrisia changed her name to Katya and retreated to less hospitable conditions - Russia. Eventually she met a shy diamond jeweller named Jeremie; an expert at working with jewels, but unfamiliar to noble metals. He hired Katya as one of his subcontractors to metal work, during which time she learned how to work with and identify authentic versus counterfeit jewels. It grew to be a highly esteemed position, with commissions sought out from Russian Imperial court's jeweler. After Jeremie’s death, his old age not dawning on Katya until it was too late, the chief court jeweller’s disdain for having to collaborate roared its ugly head and cast Katya out to find work elsewhere.
Katya changed her name to Briar, letting the old version of her die alongside her cherished mentor. She stayed in St. Petersburg long enough to idly apprentice under a goldsmith within a jewellery store in a basement shop. There, she caught wind of the Russian nobility's Francophilia, associating France with luxury goods.
Always on the brink of an identity crisis, Katya used status elevation as an excuse to visit Paris to get an ear for the dialect amidst earning better wages. This pursuit of knowledge developed into making a hobby of further travelling and studying the languages of neighbouring European countries. She had all the time in the world.
With the rise of 1900s political issues, Briar hid in Swiss mountains for the illusion of peace. Getting involved with humans’ affairs had burned her before, after all. However, whilst keeping a low profile there she encountered a nomadic group of local vampires, hungrily anticipating a bloody aftermath would solve the world tensions. Much to Briar’s charging, it re-ignited her stubborn urge to protect the innocent or injured inhabitants of the world around her. Already believing her tolerance well-formed and stable, to truly test her limits, she signed up to be trained as a nurse. It was a vocation which led to a placement at the frontlines of WW1, no amount of infection or blood causing her to tremble. It gave her purpose, value, and - most importantly - distraction. Thus, after the war’s conclusion, she pursued becoming certified as a doctor.
Briar flew to America in the 1920s, indulgently partying and pleasure seeking like there was no tomorrow wherever she could as she bounced between borders until WW2 occurred and she leant her services once more. Keeping her senses immersed in the cacophony of iron and injury kept her focus off of the magnetic tug of The Yearning, until war passed and yearning was all she had left to listen to. She tried to ignore the feeling, fiercely independent before it occurred to her that the very place she was resisting may hold the pivotal answer she desperately sought - what if she could harness the power that seemingly teemed there and finally find a way to destroy herself, once and for all? Stranger things had happened in her “life”, after all.
Briar made her grand entry upon the territory of Roldche River in the 1980s, remaining untethered and impartially observant for a while before assimilating the the society developed there, earning a job with her medical credentials. The simultaneous task of protecting the region by dark proved useful in keeping aware of the activity that teemed amongst the town - no new face slipped past her. For each new arrival, she secretly wondered if they would be the one to help her sever her so far unshakable tie to earth.

The 625 in 2019 Language Challenge
We’re about to welcome the year when I will really buckle down and learn Russian. This will be the first language I learn without a class and other “traditional” methods. I’m looking forward to making lesson plans up as I go!
(I’ll also be discarding them as I go, if they turn out not to work.)
For vocabulary, I’ll be using the Fluent Forever Base Vocabulary List. After you know these 625 words, you can start delving into the fun media. You’ll have enough comprehension not to feel frustrated -- and from this starting point, it will be easier to learn other words. At least that’s what I was promised by another langblr I can no longer remember.
As suggested, I will be learning them in alphabetical order instead of grouping them by topic first. To fit 625 into 365 days, I’ll post two words per day. If I miss a few days, it will be easy to catch up.
I’m sure that after a few weeks, I’ll be learning words at a rate faster than two a day. But I’d still like to have a daily post. For a personal record.
Happy New Year to everyone! C наступающим Новым годом!

BSD Chapter 57
This chapter is called “Sunday Tragedy”
So apparently everyone is hyped up about a certain someone being in jail lol. But this chapter has many more to it :) As usual, feel free to correct me at any part due to my imperfect English and Japanese :)
Tumblr media
                                                SPOILERS AHEAD
- Continuing the story from last chapter, the guy who shot the policeman turns out to be a guy from Fyodor side. His ability is like space manipulation (if you read BNHA, it’s something like Kurogiri’s ability I think). He takes a liking to ask a quiz for everything he says (and answers it himself right away). He calls himself Gogol and his ability name is still unknown (from what I found he’s mostly likely Nikolai Gogol, a Russian writer living around the same time with Fyodor Dostoevsky - Fyodor mentioned Gogol quite a few times in his works).
- He tells Oguri that he’s from a murder association called “Tennin no gosui” (five signs of an angel’s decay) and his job here is to “cleanup” or in other words, eliminate those who are aware of their next plan.
- Oguri grabs the walkie-talkie and shouts out to Ranpo that if the ADA has a big job coming, do not take it because the ADA will be destroyed if he does. Then Ranpo hears some gunshots and loses contact with Oguri.
- The story moves to one month after the Cannibalism event, Fukuzawa is being given an award for the contribution of the ADA to the city’s safety, by an old guy that’s called “Attorney General” (he will appear more later).
- Back to the ADA, Kunikida is back and has started practicing combat skills with Atsushi. The ADA receives a request from the government to investigate the murder cases caused by the “Murder association”. Four people have been gruesomely murdered in different ways, all to recreate the five signs of an angel’s decay in Buddism (TN: You can read more about these five signs HERE).
- That means one more person will be killed and Fukuzawa is determined to find out who that was. However, Ranpo, remembering Oguri’s words, refuses to take the job. When being asked the reason, he said “My friend’s last words” (TN: Awwww). Ranpo and Fukuzawa then exchanged a few words about honor and responsibility but Fukuzawa also refuses to change his mind so Ranpo gets angry and leaves midway. Kunikida tries to chase after him but stopped by Fukuzawa, who says that the ADA will chase after the criminal and Ranpo himself also understands that he will be chasing after the one who is trying to destroy the ADA.
- Ango calls Atsushi saying he couldn’t contact Dazai (TN: well yeah not surprised) and tells Atsushi that there’s high chance that someone inside the government is involved in this serial murder case. During their conversation Atsushi bumps into the Attorney General, and is asked about the progress of the investigation. He says he was is sitting in a coffee shop when he saw Atsushi stopping by but with his tiger nose, Atsushi realizes that the guy has no smell of coffee on him, so Atsu freaks out and runs away lol. After Atsushi left, the guy reveals that “The fate that ADA will be destroyed today has been decided”.
- Meanwhile, Dazai is watching a horse race while a stranger approaches him and starts a conversation. He tells Dazai he can see Dazai’s future tomorrow and that future is his tomorrow will not come, while suddenly handcuffing him, for committing 138 conspiracy murders, 312 blackmails and 625 other frauds.
- Inside the government office, the Attorney General is having a secret meeting with a few subordinates. He informs the other members that an employee of ADA has been arrested (I assume that it’s Dazai), and that there are a few more suspects inside the ADA, such as Kyouka who killed 35 people and Yosano who was suspected for killing patients in the military. A secretary shows up giving him proof that Fukuzawa used to be an assassin and a list of people that he has killed. The secretary later turns out to be Gogol in disguise and shoots the General, revealing that he will be the fifth victim.
- Meanwhile, Dazai asks the guy who arrested him the reason why he only comes to arrest him now. The guy then said that for some reasons all the proofs have been recovered, including photos, fingerprints, voice recordings, just like the switch that erased the proofs from the very beginning has been turned off. (We are then shown a picture of Oguri beaten up and tied into a chair so yeah that’s what happened :( )
- The chapter ends with the last “quiz” from Gogol, who asked the Attorney General “What’s funny about this plan?”, to which he answers himself “Your life and death will decide the ADA’s fate”.
And that’s allll!! This chapter is really interesting. I hope it will go on for a few more months, not ending so abruptly like the Pushkin arc. Thank you for reading all the way till the end :)

“Scum Of Earth” Explosion And Deadly Chinese Clash Follow “Death Angel” Appearance In American Skies
By: Sorcha Faal
A foreboding new Ministry of Defense (MoD) report circulating in the Kremlin today explaining the decision to emergency equip the elite Pskov Guards Air Assault Division with over 40 BMD-4M airborne infantry fighting vehicles and BTR-MDM Rakushka armored personnel carriers before the end of the month, says the “powder keg” environment currently existing in the world mandates that such defensive measures be rapidly implemented—a “powder keg” environment that literally exploded a few hours ago when North Korea blew up the liaison office in Kaesong used for talks with South Korea and declared: “The world will clearly see what severe punishment our people will mete out to the South Korean authorities and how they wipe the human scum off the earth”—while at the same time, three Indian soldiers were killed after clashing with Communist Chinese forces in a border battle—both of which events followed by hours the US Air Force sending into the skies over America for the first time ever one of its most secret aircraft MoD intelligence analysts have nicknamed the “Death Angel”—which is a strangely modified Boeing 737-700 with a civilian registration, but an Air Force owner, that first flew in 2013, but seven years later still wears its green zinc chromate coating that it was delivered with—is manned by a crew that wears civilian clothing—is now openly landing at civilian airports, instead of military bases—has been making numerous test flights in US military protected test zone waters while knowing it is being tracked by public radar systems while trailing its instrumented cone—identifies itself as STING38 on radar—that’s understandable to the MoD analysts who’ve long suspected that this aircraft has been testing an electronics package able to emit a unique electromagnetic pulse (EMP) targeting the cellular frequencies of US and Canadian carriers from ranges of just a few city blocks to across the entire North American continent—that makes it no surprise when during one of the test flights made yesterday by this mysterious STING38 aircraft, widespread cell service outages were reported occurring throughout all of America—most notable about in King County-Washington where the in rebellion city of Seattle is located, and whose officials sent out a notice stating: “King County is currently experiencing intermittent technical issues with some wireless telephone services. If you are in Seattle and your 9-1-1 call isn't going through, you can try text to 9-1-1 or call 206-625-5011. DO NOT call 911 to simply test the system”. [Note: Some words and/or phrases appearing in quotes in this report are English language approximations of Russian words/phrases having no exact counterpart.]
Widespread cell service outages reported across America after mysterious US Air Force aircraft nicknamed “Death Angel” by Russian military begins test flights using STING38 codename.
According to this report, as in all conflicts, the highest military priority is to disable and disrupt enemy communications—and as just confirmed by the prestigious Foreign Policy publication, such a conflict now exists in the United States—and whose experts have just pointed out the obvious fact: “Revolutions are often seen as spontaneous…It looks like people just went into the street…But it’s the result of months or years of preparation…It is very boring until you reach a certain point, where you can organize mass demonstrations or strikes…If it is carefully planned, by the time they start, everything is over in a matter of weeks”.
Further being warned about this revolution, this report notes, is the observation conclusion that states: “The media’s role in concealing the damage should only convince skeptics that the protests are just one part of a much larger operation…What we’re seeing play out in over 400 cities across the US, has more to do with toppling Trump and sowing racial division than it does with the killing of George Floyd… The scale and coordination alone suggests that elements in the deep state are probably involved…We know from evidence uncovered during the Russiagate probe, that the media works hand-in-glove with the Intel agencies and FBI while–at the same time– serving as a mouthpiece for elites”.
One such example of the “media’s role” in aiding this revolution, this report points out, can be found in the leftist article titled “Don’t Listen to Fox. Here’s What’s Really Going On in Seattle’s Protest Zone” that says “It’s also the “block party” that Mayor Jenny Durkan has compared it to”—a reference to the radical socialist Democrat Party leader Mayor Durkan who has banned the carrying of weapons in Seattle—a ban that doesn’t apply to the socialist revolutionaries who have taken over a part of Seattle, whose warlord leader has just been filmed handing out AR-15 semi-automatic weapons to his followers—and whose “block party” took on an ominous meaning after these socialist revolutionaries declared their intention to set up “chopping blocks” to hack the heads off of their enemies by screaming: “Does anybody know what happened to the people who did not get on board with the French Revolution?...Chopped!”—and in response to, saw a fearless young black woman named Bevelyn Beatty being the only one to stand up to these socialist revolutionaries and tell them:
This is the thing: I know people don’t like Trump. I understand that.
But let me tell you something: if I had to pick between him and Joe Biden, I am not voting in Joe Biden.
You want to see a bunch of black people go to jail by the next four years? Put Joe Biden in, watch what happens.
You want to see black men get killed substantially like you’ve never seen before? Put Joe Biden in and watch what happens.
These Democrats, and I’m sorry to say this, and I’m not trying to be racist, but they hate black people.
These are the same people who fought to keep slavery in; these are the same people who built the KKK; these are the same people who hated us from the beginning.
The Republican Party is the party of the blacks…the Republican Party is the only party that the black people actually assisted in founding.
But all of that history has been torn away.
Young black woman named Bevelyn Beatty (above left) becomes only person in America to stand up to socialist revolutionaries in Seattle-Washington and tell them true things.
With more young black women like Bevelyn Beatty awakening to the truth that all of the racial unrest in America is erupting from cities ruled over for decades by socialist Democrat Party tyrants, this report continues, it was stunning to hear the powerful Democrat Party black US Congressman Jim Clyburn admitting this week that America’s judicial system, health care system and educational system “have been put together in order to maintain suppression of African-Americans”—and admission made by Congressman Clyburn, however, without his saying out loud the truth that it’s his own socialist Democrat Party that’s been suppressing black peoples—a fact well known to the black peoples living in Baltimore-Maryland, who this week have been praised for not tearing apart their city like other socialist Democrat Party cities have done over these past few weeks—a praise not really deserving, as after the 2015 riots that destroyed Baltimore nothing was rebuilt for rioters and looters to destroy, though senseless murders occur daily, one of the latest being the popular black Gospel radio host Tyra Womack, who was just gunned down.
Best exampling these tyrant socialist Democrat Party leaders of cities have large enslaved black populations, this report details, is New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio—who while watching as over 431 police officers throughout America were killed and wounded by socialist revolutionaires over these past few weeks, vowed to cut over $1 billion from the New York City Police Department, and yesterday disbanded his police department’s entire anti-crime unit—after which tyrant Mayor de Blasio then marched with thousands of socialist revolutionaries, then ordered the gates welded shut and padlocked to his city’s largest playground for Jewish children—Jewish children whose parents and leaders of then quickly cut these locks and opened the park back up—all being viewed with dismay by the British-born American political commentator Andrew Sullivan, who in his just published essay “Is There Still Room for Debate?” told some stark truths:
The new orthodoxy — what the writer Wesley Yang has described as the “successor ideology” to liberalism — seems to be rooted in what journalist Wesley Lowery calls “moral clarity.”
He told Times media columnist Ben Smith this week that journalism needs to be rebuilt around that moral clarity, which means ending its attempt to see all sides of a story, when there is only one, and dropping even an attempt at objectivity (however unattainable that ideal might be).
And what is the foundational belief of such moral clarity? That America is systemically racist, and a white-supremacist project from the start, that, as Lowery put it in The Atlantic, “the justice system — in fact, the entire American experiment — was from its inception designed to perpetuate racial inequality.”
This view of the world certainly has “moral clarity.” What it lacks is moral complexity.
No country can be so reduced to one single prism and damned because of it.
American society has far more complexity and history has far more contingency than can be jammed into this rubric.
No racial group is homogeneous, and every individual has agency. No one is entirely a victim or entirely privileged.
And we are not defined by black and white any longer; we are home to every race and ethnicity, from Asia through Africa to Europe and South America.
A country that actively seeks immigrants who are now 82 percent nonwhite is not primarily defined by white supremacy.
Nor is a country that has seen the historic growth of a black middle and upper class, increasing gains for black women in education and the workplace, a revered two-term black president, a thriving black intelligentsia, successful black mayors and governors and members of Congress, and popular and high culture strongly defined by the African-American experience.
Nor is a country where nonwhite immigrants are fast catching up with whites in income and where some minority groups now out earn whites.
As to the effect these socialist revolutionary inspired “moral clarity” claims that America is a racist nation is having on the masses of its citizens, this report concludes, it hasn’t passed their notice that this socialist garbage is being spread from leftist American newsrooms whose employees are nearly 80% white---that explains why a new poll has found that 72% voters, including most black voters, have a favorable view of their local police departments—another poll shows black Americans overwhelmingly oppose defunding the police—while an even more stunning new poll show that the American people, of all races, want Confederate statues to remain standing by a 12-point margin—snippets providing a glimpse into how this socialist revolution is being viewed by the American people not going unnoticed by leftists—best exampled by leftist media icon Bill Maher, who has just screamed about what his socialist Democrat Party comrades are doing with the words: “They must have meetings to be this fucking stupid about politics”—and by leftist Rolling Stone contributing editor Matt Taibbi, who while watching the socialist Democrat Party support these revolutionaries has just said while noting the American press is destroying itself: “It feels liberating to say after years of tiptoeing around the fact, but the American left has lost its mind”—both of whom, no doubt, watched in horror this past weekend when in the crucial swing State of Michigan a flotilla of over 2,000 boats spanning two miles long kicked off a weekend celebrating President Donald Trump’s 74th birthday—and even more horrifying to these leftists, watched in terror when the Trump Campaign announced yesterday that over 1-million people have requested tickets to attend President Trump’s rally this Saturday in Tulsa-Oklahoma—a staggering amount of support for President Trump these socialist revolutionaries should take quick notice of—most particularly because one can safely assume that these Americans are all armed and ready to defend their nation if called upon by President Trump to do so.

MOTHER TONGUE
Tumblr media
Fandom: Stranger Things
Pairings: NONE
Words: 625
Description: Billy thinks about his mom and his baba.
Curly blond hair, golden ringlets framing his face, crystal blue eyes, long dainty eyelashes and a nose he got from his baba. Billy Hargrove got a lot of things from his mother's side, including his first language.
His baba had immigrated to the states with her husband when she was only 18. The strongest woman he ever knew, his baba, she could wrestle a bull and win. That's where he got his fighting spirit, or so his mother said.
When Billy was little his mother had made it a priority for him to learn the mother tongue, he was fluent in Russian before he even started to learn English. He'd come home from school every day and lost off every moment in precise detail all in Russian.
Neil had hated it and after his baba died anything and everything connecting Billy to his heritage was removed from the house. All but a few trinkets had been thrown away and burned in front of his eyes.
It was only a few years later that his mother left. His last outlet was stolen from him, he no longer had anyone he could really speak to and Neil had banned him from saying anything in Russian. He said he didn't want 'some commie' in his house.
When Max and Susan came to live with them it hit even worse. Everything he did was under a microscope, every mistake was punishable by a fist to the face or the gut. Suddenly instead of having his mother and her comforting words, he had a little girl constantly sniffing around his things, a violent father and a stepmother who couldn't care less about him.
Billy had tried his best this last week to stay calm, to not rip apart at the seams. He was missing his mother more than normal and everything seemed to remind him of what he'd lost.
He was sitting out side the family video, he'd been patiently waiting over an hour for Max to come out with her stupid chick-flick. Glancing down at his watch, the hands ticked past and he finally lost it.
Throwing open the car door and slamming it shut he stormed to the entrance only to come face to face with Max babbling away to Steve fucking Harrington.
"Max!" He yelled out, startling her out of the conversation.
She looked pissed off and brushed him off as another girl walked into the room. Billy recognized her from band, he'd seen her playing while on the field.
"Max." He called out again. Running his fingers angrily through his hair he watched as Max yet again wave him off.
"Maxine Mayfield! Oh my- О мой Бог! Верно? Почему ты всегда такой! Ну давай же!" He yelled. (Oh my god! Why are you always like this! Come on!)
"Дай ей передышку, не будь такой стервой, Харгроув." Robin replied. (Give her a break, don't be such a bitch, Hargrove."
The two others stared at Billy and Robin in confusion. Steve quirked a brow at their exchange.
Billy's eyes widened as he realized not only what he'd done, but that she knew what he was saying. Tilting his head to the side he smiled, anger dissipating.
"You understood me?" He asked gently, Robin nodded in response.
"C'mon Max we need to get home." He reached out an arm to wave her over and gave one last look to Robin before approaching the door to leave.
"Спокойной ночи Робин." He said kindly while walking out the door. (Good night Robin)
"Спокойной ночи." (Good night) Her accent was shit compared to Billy's an now he'd have to explain to Max why he knew some foreign language, but it was good to talk to someone who understood him, really good.

Vinegret a Russian Salad
Tumblr media
What is Vinegret Vinegret comes from the french word, Vinaigrette, but it does not mean the same thing. Vinaigrette in french is basically a salad dressing made from oil, vinegar, spices, and/or lemon. As for a Vinegret, it is the name of a Russian Salad. It is a very popular salad throughout Russia and Ukraine. It is served during celebrations or special events. What can you find in Vinegret the Russian salad From all my research and my husband opinion, the best version is the one based on beetroots. You can find in Vinegret, beetroots, carrots, potatoes which they are all boiled, some onions, brined pickles, and green peas. Some people will even add meat, fish, beans but at home, I make it the traditional way. All about the vegetables, oil, fresh dill, salt, and pepper.
Tumblr media
How to make Vinegret First, you need to boil the carrots, the potatoes, the beets, and the green peas. After letting the vegetables cooled down, before cutting them. When the vegetables are cool, cut (the carrots, the beets, the potatoes) into small cubes. Cut them the same size it is more pleasant to eat. Keep the green peas aside, for now, they are the last ingredient to add to the Vinegret. Put all the roots chopped vegetables into a large bowl. Chopped the onions, the pickles and add them to the bowl. Now you can add the green peas, the salt, pepper, the fresh dill, and the oil. Mix all the ingredients carefully. I highly suggest to use your hands, it is the best way to not crushed the vegetables, especially the green peas. Voilà! Вкусный русский салат!

Wood Presents And Folk Russian Painting in Art Shop Online
Title: Wood Presents And Folk Russian Painting in Art Shop Online
Word Count: 625
Summary: Khokhloma art painting is a bright distinctive phenomenon of Russian decorative applied art. This traditional art wood craft first appeared in XVII century in the Nizhny Novgorod province and got its name from a big trading village Khokhloma, where these all wooden art works were originated.
Article Body: Originally Khokhloma wood tableware were produced in monasteries and for the czar court only. At that time Khokhloma tableware production was not large scale. It was because of expensive imported tin. In 1720s after the end of the North War tin flow to Russian increased. The price went down and the material came within reach of many masters. The production and the sales of brightly painted hand made art works expanded.
Thus in the XIX century items with khokhloma painting were famous not only in Russia but in Persia, India, Middle East, the USA and Australia as well. The export of khokhloma items grew after the worldwide exhibition in 1889 in Paris.
In 1916 Nizhegorodskoye Zemstvo established the first School for Wood-Working Arts and Crafts in Semyonov. The folk arts and folklore flourished in Volga region near Nizhny Novgorod province. No other territory in Russia could equal it in the number and originality of the folk arts and crafts that had sprang to life and were developed in the local communities. The Khokhloma art painting on wooden tableware is the type of Nizhny Novgorod folk art craft that became most popular in Russia and foreign countries.
The “grass-leaves” decorative ornaments and their peculiar color scheme suggest that the Khokhloma art is rooted in the ancient Russian decorative culture while the imitation of gilt ornaments on wood dates back to the medieval Russian handicraft skills. The painting technique has been somewhat upgraded but remains essentially the same as in the ancient time. Khokhloma russian painting amazes you with its delicate grass pattern and festive coloring, which is based on combination of scarlet cinnabar and flittering gold against the black lacquer background. This is Khokhloma specific feature. Masters used tin powder and lacquer to obtain such gold color. Now they use aluminum powder.
First, the art tableware are shaped on a lathe from the dried lime wood, which are turned into bowls, vases, mugs, dishes and spoons. They are dried and covered with red and brown primer, so that they start looking like earthen. The unpainted articles are now coated with drying oil. Next they are polished with powdered aluminium. They become dull shining, like silver, and go to the painting division. Painted articles are then varnished and hardened in ovens at the temperature of 120-130 degrees. The heat turns the varnish yellow, the “silver” into “gold” and mellows the vivid design with an even, golden tone.
The Khokhloma dishes, cups and wooden drink pots were used for serving food at holiday feasts. The wooden tableware using at the Moscow house of an important statesman had to look valuable; accordingly, they were modeled on the rich painted plates decorated with real golden fabricated by the jewelers for the luxurious homes of the Russian nobility. Thanks to the special varnish and high-temperature processing they are quite practical and safe in use. You can drink and eat using these Khokhloma tableware, because such wares not sensitive to cold and hot, salty and sour food.
Apart from Khokhloma wood presents of tableware most visitors to Russia will have at least one set of Matrioshka dolls in their luggage. These dolls within dolls have long been a source of fascination. The undoing of the main doll to reveal others almost ad-in-finitem has always produced wonderment and appreciation for the woodcrafts art.
Examples of beautiful Khokhloma wood art presents, Paleh and Mstera varnished miniatures you can look at art store online site. It is amazing that what started out as a true folk tradition over 300 years ago is still thriving and remains basically true to it’s roots, albeit on a more organized scale.

потолок -- die Zimmerdecke -- Kìsame -- Ceiling
Мобильный телефон -- das Handy -- Cell phone -- Cell phone
Сантиметр -- der Zentimeter -- Sentimetro -- Centimeter
Стул -- der Stuhl -- Silya -- Chair
What easy words I’ve had for the last two days! Only the words for “ceiling” show some real cultural originality.
Several years ago, working as an after-school tutor, I had to help a little boy learn the Tagalog words for the different parts of a house. The mnemonic I taught him for “kìsame” was to imagine kissing the ceiling. I’ve also come up with a fun mnemonic for the Russian “потолок”: Imagine having an upside-down potluck dinner on the ceiling!
