i skimmed through the eidr website and there are plenty of shows already released that list their episodes as being "1H0M" long but the actual show's episodes are 40 minutes long. bc "hour long" episode means 40 minutes, even when it's written like 1H0M.

so yeah im confident that the knuckles series is gonna have 40 minute episodes. that's still around 4 hours total that's sick

the final for my second year photography class! After seeing the beautiful They Watch the Moon by Trevor Pagan, I got interested in the long exposure aspect of it and the really beautiful green, hazy quality of the photo. So! I tried my hand at it

One of the few pieces of art that necessitated I take a nap to create it lmao. Set the camera up in my bedroom and kept the lil wireless shutter remote on my bedside table!

For the eating an apple one, during crit my teacher initially thought it was brushing teeth haha; they really liked the series though! yippee! It's not quite one of my favourites but it was very interesting to make (and fun!)

finally did my goddamn dishes. and that wasn't all i managed to do today. fuck yeah.

had a meeting for thesis prep. bmv trip. rough plan for friday's discussion lecture. cooked dinner for the first time in like 3 weeks. read ~50 pages of academic text for 2 classes and a paper revision.

feels like i didn't do enough but. considering that yesterday i managed... going to classes and nothing else! and monday i was only capable of doing the required meetings i had, this is a pretty good day!

the plot of this season was so poorly paced, like i feel both exhausted from and deprived of the a b and c plots because they are all so mismanaged. season 1 had that nice episodic yet overarching structure, we should have either gotten to this finale by 2.05 or have given each character more time and stretched it to a 10 episode season.

I haven't talked abt it a whole lot but I made a blanket for my grandma for Christmas! I started in April (when I taught myself to make a granny square) and finished weaving the ends in 4 days before Christmas lol

I had initially planned to spell out my grandma's full name in binary (0=white and 1=blue), but around August I truly realised how hard that would be. In the end, I did 62 rounds instead of the planned 120. The completed blanket was about 160 square cm, and weighed 1.45kg. It was made of 100% cotton and I made it on a 3mm crochet hook. The blanket covered most of my double bed by the time it was close to done. I never actually used it as a blanket (bc it was a gift! How could I!) But it felt satisfyingly heavy in my lap when I was making it :)

I'm pretty sad I don't have any better photos of the blanket, but I did have the best phone camera around when I took the pics after we finally washed the thing!

My mum also asked me for coasters made in the blanket's colours for her birthday. I haven't included photos but they were just 4 round granny squares in the colours of the blanket I made for my mum's mum (as requested).

ive gotta say i love how they handled sams and henrys death in the show

he had to die, they could change whatever they wanted but there was no way he could survive bc his death is so deeply tied to ellies survivors guilt. she survived and he didnt she had to watch him, watch tess, watch riley all die from something she survived and it helps fuel her desire to be the cure bc she can stop this. and if sam dies then henry dies bc he was willing to burn the world if it meant sam could live, and loosing his brother (especially by his own hand) put him in a very dangerous state of mind

but by having ellie aware of what happened to sam, having her show that shes infected and use the knowledge that shes the cure, means that (in her mind) shes the reason he died. riley died bc she was trying to make it up to ellie after their fight, tess died bc of trying to get her to the fireflies and helping her escape the hoard, and now sam died bc she failed to save him. she could have, shes the cure, the thing that will fix the world, but she failed and not only did she get him killed but henry died bc of her too

her desire to find the fireflies and her survivors guilt is going to be so strong that i can practically feel the anger that shes gonna have at the end
