Pose Reference Resources
I promised Dia (aka aerequets) that I will make a collection of pose references in the reply of one of her art posts, and then I completely forgot about it. Until now. I'm sorry for my bad memory.
So, yeah, better late than never I guess?
The pose collection I use the most is no longer free. They used to let you download a whole album (more than 8GB worth of data) to use offline, but now you have to pay $40/package or $200 for full sets. I still have the zip file for a very old version of theirs, but I can't legally share it. So, let's skip to the other options.
1/ First, you heard of those 3D dolls program that let you model your own reference pose? This one is an online one and for free, the whole ordeal. Of course since it's online and free, you can't save your model for next time, and it costs quite a lot of time to set the model up. So, you should take as much screenshots in as many tricky angles as you need once you done with the setting. Best using for complicated scenes where those below don't have what you need already available.
2/ This one is free and in 3D, you can rotate the model to any angle that you need. The only set back is the numbers of poses are quite limited. This one is best for using as a basic blocks then build up what you want to draw, or just as a practice to improve your understanding of human anatomy.
3/ This one is free for personal uses and the pose collection is massive. The setbacks are the language barrier (it's in Japanese, English is sometimes tag-a-long) and you have to search through their pages for what you need. The pics for each pose is static but they are in different angle in almost 360 degrees. There are many 2-person and 3-person poses too. Great for illustration inspiration.
4/ This one will only show reference photos of human head, at whatever angle you rotate the model. The web interface is easy to use. There are options like searching based on gender, ages, emotions, glasses, facial hair or not, etc. Good for practicing face drawing.
5/ This one will show reference photos for human body parts, at whatever angle you rotate the model, read the instructions for how to do it. The web interface is quite hard to use at first, just tinkering around for a bit, and you will be fine. There are options like searching based on gender and which particular parts that you need refs for. Good for that moment when you go "huh? how is this <body part> will look in this <situation>????"
6/ This one will only show reference photos of animal heads, and only the head, at whatever angle you rotate the model. The accurate skull refencence list is their best point. There are enough common species in the drop down list. Tbh, I don't use this much because I often need refs for the whole animal most of the time. But it's best for furry artists, I guess?
7/ Real model photos. They sell pose reference in themed packs, but there are enough free packs to use as drawing practice too.
8/ This is the best for general background reference. Lots of options. Not really good for very specific location results, but good for random background in drawings.
9/ Lastly, for specific objects or background references at strange angles, I often search for 3D models on this site then take screenshots of whatever I need.
That's all, folks. Hope this list can help ease some of the struggles that we will encounter on our quest of learning the art of drawing things 😂

Random personal headcannons i’ve jotted down for the 3 main kits. The majority of them are meant for my universe for the kits 😵‍💫 so- be prepared for that
🍁Aki:
- was and has been bullied by Haru to some extent
- he’d love chuck e cheese.
- was more of a mischievous child even back then
- he was extremely jealous of Haru specifically, while being more afraid of Fuyu.
- has some self conscious problems that he chooses to keep to himself🫂
- he would smell like pumpkins and cinnamon
- he frustrates his Clan Advisor, like a lot.
- has snuck out of the Autumn clan numerous times to go have fun.
- He’s the kind who would love going to a trampoline park and diving head first into a ball pit.
- he keeps a personal marigold flower in his room that was gifted to him by Natsu. Even now, it’s still blooming.
- he likes many candies from both the spirit land and the living land
- in his Autumn clan, he would jump into a pile of leaves he requested his servants to collect and build up.
- has tried to trap Santa before
🌸Haru:
- is more up to date on modern technology than the others (since he has social somehow)
- he likes blonds (totally not because it reminds him of Natsu)
- he smells like cherries and strawberries/Cherry Blossom or daffodils
- if he were a dad, he’d be a daddy’s girl.
- definitely knows 80s songs both English and Japanese
- he’d love Chappel Roan!
- if he ever feels sad or relapse back to grieving, he listens to Mitski
- while in the game he pet names you as ‘Gorgeous’, I wanna believe he’d give you a petname based off of a flower he associates with you. For example: In my AU with the kits where he first fell in love with Natsu before Natsu died, he called him “Marigold” for his scent of marigolds, as well as the color of his hair being yellow like a marigold.
- he can handle being called a slut or a whore, usually laughing it off even if it is true (during the past before meeting the MC of course). But will not tolerate anyone calling his mother that.
- he got all of his looks entirely from his mother. Practically looking like a full on genderbent version of her even.
- if he shape shifts into his female form, he’d look just like her.
❄️Fuyu:
- when he was younger, down to when he was a baby kit around 6 years old, he always found wonder in the other clans, in particular with the Summer clan.
- he doesn’t have a much of a scent, but the closest to it would somehow be pine trees and snowdrops
- he would have to stay a lot under the shade when travelling to the warmer seasons, with the summer one in particular
- he has a negative opinion on the spring clan in particular.
- despite the cold, he secretly loves the feeling of warmth.
- he was close to the previous summer clan leader: Yugūre before he ascended up into the heavens
- despite growing in a winter environment, he’s never went sledding before until Natsu came around
- he’s familiar with skating, but not to the extravagant extent like how Stirling is
- in the present, he will accidentally download 20 viruses into your computer
- has broken a computer before, maybe even twice
- acts all tough and scary when he got the hang of playing Mario Kart, but actually still struggles with figuring out which control does what
- he road rages even in Mario kart
- Has hit the pause button numerous times before
- has broken the switch at some point
- found himself enjoying some classic shows like The Golden Girls
- Obviously he’d love broadway musicals, duh!✨
- is disappointed in the modern generation 😔
- when summer comes around, he hides away indoors and claims its because of how its too hot for him
SPOILERS FOR UP AHEAD
.
.
.
❄️
❄️
❄️
❄️
- when summer comes around after his redemption arch, he will choose to stay out in the sun as much as possible for it’s warmth.
And that’s all for now so far 👀

Kaiju Week in Review (March 3-9, 2024)
Tumblr media
Shin Ultraman took an eternity to reach home video, but Godzilla Minus One will proceed as a more reasonable pace (by Japanese standards). Toho will release roughly one billion different editions on May 1, with Amazon- and Godzilla Store-exclusive physical bonuses both on offer. Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color is included with some of the pricier versions, or you can buy it as a standalone Blu-ray or DVD.
The black-and-white version of Shin Godzilla, SHIN GODZILLA:ORTHOchromatic, also hits Japanese home video on May 1. Like Minus Color, no 4K edition, just Blu-ray and DVD. A handful of new bonus features about ORTHOchromatic are included.
As is standard for Toho, none of these releases will be English-friendly. But given the films' popularity (and the lack of any legal way to watch Minus One since it left theaters), expect bootlegs to circulate at light speed.
Tumblr media
Unsurprisingly, Godzilla Minus One cleaned up at the Japanese Academy Awards, with eight victories out of eleven nominations: Picture of the Year, Best Supporting Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Sound, Best Art Direction, and Best Lighting. That's one more than Shin Godzilla, and pretty much guarantees that the Toho Godzilla series will keep the prestige pictures coming. Strange times!
We'll see if Minus One can also capture Best Visual Effects at the American Academy Awards tonight. The Creator remains its biggest competition. The Gareth Edwards film is better-positioned by the usual metrics, with a second nomination for Best Sound and five wins at the Visual Effects Society Awards, but the enthusiasm gap for the films themselves may prove decisive. I'll be doing a much lengthier analysis during Wikizilla's Oscar stream tonight, which will start at about 6:00 PM ET, an hour before the ceremony begins.
Tumblr media
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire tickets may not be on sale yet, but Cinemark theaters have rolled out the above merch (much more efficiently than Target and Walmart have rolled out the toyline, if my local theater's any indication). I have a suspicion those plushies will be worth a mint a few years from now, small as they are; don't know about the other stuff. I bought the larger popcorn tin when I saw Dune: Part Two on Thursday. The promo image is deceptive, as the green area is transparent plastic and the Titan image is on the opposite wall of the tin, so that popcorn's either defying gravity or being held up by a hidden insert. There are Kong and Skar King variants as well, the latter revealing his height (318 feet). Poor Shimo; being the "secret" villain really narrows the amount of merch you get.
The other interesting GxK news this week (apart from the endless TV spot variants, which I'm not even trying to keep track of) is a collaboration with the American Red Cross, of all institutions. Donate blood, platelets, or AB Elite plasma from March 25 to April 7, get a free T-shirt. And for completion's sake, I'll mention the Roblox and Call of Duty cross-promos too.
Tumblr media
Chibi Godzilla Raids Again, an unexpected delight last year, is getting a second season starting April 3. The official site revealed that Minilla is joining the cast, while those silhouettes to his right look like Titanosaurus (unjustly neglected in recent years), Gigan, and Gabara. Expect to follow the first season in being uploaded to the GODZILLA OFFICIAL by TOHO YouTube channel with English subtitles.
youtube
Here's another chance to watch Tsuburaya and Toei Animation's Kaiju Decode short, originally released in 2021. (It goes away at the end of the month, because every Japanese studio is apparently hellbent on making short films ephemeral, so download it now.) It's the basis for a recent mixed reality game for the Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest Pro, hence its return to the spotlight.
Tumblr media
UniVersus, a collectable card game predicated on pitting characters from various franchises against each other, is going all in on Godzilla after offering a couple of Minus One cards through highly convoluted means last year. They're releasing a couple of Godzilla Challenger Series (preconstructed decks) on June 21, one based around Godzilla and Mothra, the other around King Ghidorah and Rodan, with Mechagodzilla thrown into the mix for both. I've never played this game in my life, but the prospect of a shiny Godzilla card with James Stokoe art is sort of tempting.

2024 Tumblr Top 10
I was tagged by @my-rose-tinted-glasses. Thanks, Rose!
go here to see your top 10 posts of 2024, share them and tag people!
1. Watch Tracy Chapman Start a Quiet Revolution. 11,874 notes - Feb 5 2024
After watching Tracy Chapman perform with Luke Combs at the Grammys I thought: SHE’S STILL GOT IT. So I dug out a video of the first time I’d ever seen her (which also happened to be the first time I’d heard Fast Car) -- a live performance at Wembley Stadium in 1988. It’s life-altering. No joke.
2. Re: Love in the Air (Japanese Version) First impressions. 273 notes - Nov 2 2024
I am enjoying how the tighter script in the Japanese version is making it even more obvious that Payu/Arashi really did have...
3. In which I lose my mind over the current state of QL and Asian Gay Dramas. 194 notes - Jan 10 2024
There's so much diversity on our screens right now! My currently airing favorite queer dramas include a hot af trans chic and...
4. Unknown - Ep 11 - That Scene 187 notes - May 11 2024
The opening scene of episode 11 landed differently for me than it did for others. I was going to just keep it to myself since I have a minority opinion, but when I rewatched it last night I fell even more in love with it!
The structure!! It’s so good! Let me explain...  (gif by @wanderlust-in-my-soul)

5. Re: The main characters’ names in A Killer Paradox. 169 notes - Feb 10 2024
THEY BOTH HAVE SUCH CUTE NAMES!
당 = Tang = Nickname for Sugar and used at the end of words to cute-ify them.
난감 = Nan Gam = Embarrassed. Impossible. Awkward. Because you’re at a loss, in a sticky situation, or facing a conundrum, a paradox. His full name Jang Nan Gam means Toy, and can sometimes be slang for ‘Are you playing with me?“....
6. In Defense of Dee’s choices in Wandee Goodday as the fandom got progressively more and more frustrated with him. 162 notes - Jun 1 2024
I 100% understand Dee’s behavior this episode. He’s aware of his own feelings, aware that they’re growing, and sometimes he can’t help himself. He crosses the line because of those feelings. Yet every time Yak says or does something that seems a little over the line in return (like introducing himself to Dee’s parents as his boyfriend), Dee feels like...
7. On the nifty Korean wordplay in the opening and closing credits of Love Next Door. 145 notes - Aug 24 2024 THE THIN LINE BETWEEN HATE AND LOVE. Just putting this out there because it was a cute visual! At the end of episode 2, we see the episode title written in the stars... (This ended up being something I posted about for at least half the episodes, but I never did collect the posts into an easy-to-find series. Hmmm....)
Tumblr media
8. In which I got my hopes up after watching the first 2 episodes of Wedding Impossible (before they were dashed against the rocks later...) 145 notes - Feb 27 2024
It’s probably too early to be putting this out there, but Wedding Impossible has a gay male lead, a lavender marriage plot between said gay lead and his high school bestie who beats up homophobic bullies and acts as his beard during their school years, and said bestie falling in love with the gay lead’s younger brother (so a noona romance?)...
9. Just another day of simping for Gun Attaphan and sharing a host of his pics. 140 notes - Feb 5 2024 THE SERVE! My favorite flavor of Gun Atthaphan looks is when he dresses like a U-haul Lesbian.JUST LOOK AT THE MAN!...

10. A 4 Minutes Theory that was only kinda right. 135 notes - Jul 27 2024
4 MINUTES - DEATHBED REGRET THEORY
So @biochemjess put forth the idea that both times that we have seen Great see 4 minutes into the future were times he failed to take responsibility for his actions.

TERI'S ALBUM COLLECTION ✨️
because you asked to see it 🫶 i wanted to film a video, but during i realized it's easier and faster to just take pictures, so collection + my commentary under the cut ✨️🫶
collection as of 10th january 2025. i also want to say i know this is a lot, but i don't (with exceptions) usually buy other kpop merch than albums. i'm def a cd/album collector, tho i love pcs as well haha
STRAY KIDS (24) : i have full korean discography and few japanese albums. i dont normally buy multiple versions of the albums. seung digi was bought about 9 months after rockstar release, i wanted a cd to display with my cd player. i had chk chk ver of ate and bought boom ver two months ago (it was discounted and i liked this ver too). for hop i went crazy bc i wanted nemo pcs and couldn't decide between limited and regular. i'd like to complete japanese albums too one day, but its not a priority to me, japanese releases are more expensive. fun fact, 5star was my first ever album (and 1st skz cb, 2nd cb overall)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
XDINARY HEROES (8) : also a complete discography. my first album was deadlock. hello, world was the final album i was missing and i couldn't find the smaller ver anywhere, so eventually i just bought the big one to complete collection. then i found it online, and after many problems with the shop they sent me the big version so now i have 2 (2nd not in the photo, this is why 8 albums). months later i found the small ver in kpop shop, so i got that too because i really wanted that one
ATEEZ (5) : this is a hate letter to whoever designs the albums - i love them, they're beautiful, but can we please keep same size/style for the trilogies? 😭 i started collecting around the world: will, but someday i want to buy the older albums and complete collection (edit: i forgot about overload bc it was hidden between magazines and found it now lol)
DAY6 + wonpil's (pilmography) and young k's (letters with notes) solo (6) : my first album (and cb) was fourever. i absolutely adore their music, rock is my genre 🫶 getting old day6 albums is difficult, but again, one day i'd like to complete
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
TXT (2) : i really like txt music, but i prioritize my ult groups when i'm buying albums. i'm not really interested in having complete collection rn, but i'd like to at least get my fav albums in the future. fun fact, temptation is soobin ver. i had no idea these were member albums, i just liked the cover lol (soobin ver was random, i didn't choose bc i didn't know)
THE ROSE + woosung's solo (moth) (3) : i loved this band when i discovered them, and i still very much love their music, but i don't really follow them that closely anymore to really want physical albums. plus they're hard to find
BTOB (2) : again, absolutely loved them when i discovered them, nowadays i don't listen to them that much (beautiful songs, but not really my style. still love them tho!), so i don't really have a reason to grow this collection as of now
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
BAMBAM (1) : i started getting into bambam's music only recently, but i love it. and this is such a good album! i will definitely listen to his music more, maybe get older albums too. and he and jackson are my pipeline to got7, so we'll see how this goes
HANNAH BAHNG (1) : okay she's not really kpop but we are including queen hannah. i was literally sitting with a timer waiting for her preorders to drop to get this album (and it was the ver with signed pc 🤭)

PROJECT SEKAI ANTHOLOGY (DNA) VOL 3 CHAPTER 3
As I already skimish the book, I can say this chapter include my top 5 story for this volume ! Aside it's bit mixed character, Minori really funny here (lol)
I gonna say differently here so just skip it (lol) :
I forgot to say this weeks ago as I really focused on translating previous book, as anyone know I already do the newest Ena nigo focused event story. If you asked how I can do that while keep updating book translation ? It's pretty funny you know, I finished that within same time as translate the book so yeah my fingers into typing & editing the translation while my ears into hearing a different stories (multitasking mode on lol).
And now I still in collecting mood for latest An VBS focused story, I prefer doing it while still not translating VBS focused chapter (or I gonna confused lol) and before tommorow. Why I pointed tommorow ? It's HSR newest version update so of course I'll pull all my translation behind ! (lol)
Which means tommorow (and maybe next day too depend on my feels after read it) I won't update since I won't touch any translation and fully focused on reading HSR story + writing review. Even as schedule post, it just means I gonna catch up on deadline since my timeline the book must be finish around late June or I gonna abandon it for unknown when (lol)
This chapter focused on MMJ or more into Hinomori siblings. There's one mixed event mentioned here namely "The Moon Rabbit and Us" focused on Hinomori siblings story. As I said before, I only read VBS and nigo stories so maybe there's some missing info I didn't mention above.
And if anyone wondering, yups in pages 6 Shizuku really say Fossa Magna in Katakana...
Like always english and japanese aren't my things so bear with me~

Which of the other UFO 50 games are notable picks for you?
Oh I was really stuck up on their take on RPGs, and especially loved Grimstone and Divers! Grimstone alone is just so good, cause it's a western themed japanese role playing game or a WJRPG for short, and gameplay wise the variety of characters and their playstyles made me beat this game twice! Divers for instance had even a neat problem, where whenever you attack a monster, and it dies before one of the lizards hit them, they just whiff the attack, similar to the original NES version of FF1 which was pretty funny and made me actually think about my turns rather than whack the attack button on each random encounter. Outside of those RPGs, metroidvanias were really great too especially Porgy, Mini and Max and Vainger, mostly because cherrying them involved just getting the 100% item collection. Action wise, mooncat was phenomenal, and mastering it really did made me feel like I was 6 years old again, playing contra on a shitty pegasus, which was basically a bootleg NES since getting a computer in Eastern Poland was a luxury, yet alone the original console.
Tumblr media
I gotta finish them up, though the Creature is living in a perfect house at least!

Y'know what's a weird thing that I want for Persona 6, that I think could be exciting to include given the possible theme of modernity vs tradition, or technology vs nature?
A character that's apart of the Ainu.
(***PLEASE NOTE, my knowledge of the Ainu people and their culture is fairly limited, so I will link down below some articles where you can learn more if you're interested!)
If you didn't know (because a surprisingly LARGE amount of people don't know about them), Japan has their own version of indigenous tribes, who have existed long before the establishment of modern Japan or even the monarchy.
One of these includes the indigenous peoples known as the Ainu, an ethnic group native to northern Japan, including Hokkaido, Northeast Honshu, as well as some territories and islands connected to Russia like the Kuril Islands, the Kamchatka Penisula, Sakhalin, and the Khabarovsk Krai.
While there is little history about their existence, we do know that the Ainu peoples are related to the Emishi, their ancestors, who during the 9th century came under Japanese subjugation and were pushed from their native lands to the north. Over the passing centuries, the Emishi and Ainu were treated with disrespect by both the early Japanese, who were known as Wa-jin, and later colonized by the more established dynasties that proceeded during the 17th century and beyond.
Today currently, there official population of the Ainu within Japan are around 25,000, but may actually be around 200,000 or more, due to the near-total assimilation into Japanese society, cutting off many individuals from knowing of their Ainu ancestry. Despite this though, the Ainu culture and their language somewhat prominent within their respective communities and continue to thrive, despite their dwindling numbers of the years.
In recent years, the culture has become a bit more well-known due to the fairly popular manga known as "Golden Kamuy", created by Satoru Noda and serialized from 2018 to 2022. The story is set after the Russo-Japanese war, where our main protagonist, Saichi Sugimoto, is a surviivng veteran of this war.
After learning about the possibility of a large cache of gold existing in Hokkaido, Sugimoto is nearly killed by the man who told him, but is saved from not only death by the man but also by a bear through the aid of a young Ainu girl named Asirpa. Together, the two of them form a very close friendship as they begin their complicated and dangerous journey to find the cache of gold, while collecting the tattooed map of the location of the cache.
The manga heavily focuses around the exploration of the Ainu culture, interweaving it with the plot of the manga, making it a very prominent and important topic within the story. Besides Asirpa, there are multiple Ainu characters that support the main cast, as well as many scenes exploring and discussing the culture of the Ainu and how the industrialization of Japan has affected their way of life.
One of my favorite scenes between Sugimoto and Asirpa is when she teaches him about some of their cuisine, in particular chitatap (or citatap), a dish made with the the raw meat of animals or fish that is chopped into fine chunks. Admittedly, Sugimoto is a bit worried about the idea of eating raw meat, but over the course of the story begins to fall in love with the dish to the point of obsessing over it.
Alongside that, there are also a few other representations too of the culture, such as the utilization of Ainu terms like "hinna" to express delight, the belief of "kamuy" or spirits in nature, or the tradition of Ainu women tattooing their lips! You can FEEL the authors love for the subject and wanting to let the wider world know about the existence of the Ainu, even though he might not be one himself.
So, why have an Ainu character? Well, for one, I think it would be a very interesting commentary upon some of the more complicated subjects that Japanese culture faces, and give a bit of representation to the tribe by having either a party member or supporting character within the town.
Persona is no stranger to dealing with complicated subjects and topics that are often shied away from in most JRPGS, notably SA, sexual harassment, depression, grief, struggling with ones own identity, sexuality, gender, and much more. The topic of the struggle of being indigenous not only in a judgmental and oppressive situation, but also a growing chokehold from the modern world as technology takes over, would be a very interesting thing to explore and provide one of many points of view upon the subject.
Its no question that many indigenous communities, including many in the United States, have been heavily affected by the growth of cities and the gentrification of areas, losing more and more of their territories everyday while backed into a corner. By writing about this, not only could the Persona team discuss the effects of the destruction of nature, but also the effects that it may have on smaller communities, be it indigenous tribes or merely small villages that exist outside the limits of cities!
So, whether or not this could happen, I think it'd be a really cool concept for Persona to explore and have, even if it might not take a center stage in the overall story!

Akihabara Puzzle Event Summary
(last updated 2/6/25!)
Usual disclaimer: Please keep in mind this game still has no official English translation, so this summary uses a mix of what happens visually, what I understand of the Japanese dialogue, and Google translate for the Chinese text, in order to get the broader picture here. This will be focused on summing up everything that happens overall, without getting into a line-by-line translation. I have also made English translation videos of this event, which actually are a line-by-line translation, and you can watch those here if you prefer.
Contrary to this blog’s name, this post is going to have as little speculation as possible, and stick to confirmed facts.
This post will cover the main plot of the Akihabara Puzzle Event added in Version 3.0.2.
Introduction
Wonder is sitting at home when he abruptly receives texts from Runa Dogenzaka, asking him to meet her in Akihabara. He does so, and Runa first thanks him (rather than explaining why).
Tumblr media
After Wonder asks, she finally does explain that they're holding a puzzle-solving event here in Akihabara today. She speculates that it's to help increase the area's popularity, and make visitors more familiar with the area. Apparently, Shibuya once held a similar event in the past, but it didn't go well; too many places to visit, messy rules, and she was supposed to show off a lot of different places, but had trouble getting around- ah, she means Shichi-kun had trouble getting around!
Anyway, she wants to see how another area runs an event like this, to learn from them, comparing it to spying on an enemy. She and Wonder then head to the reception area for the event.
Tumblr media
Running the event is Narumi Nashimoto, who recognizes Wonder after starting her routine event introduction, to Runa's surprise. Narumi is glad to see him, but asks if he's not with Merope today, which Wonder confirms. Runa, hearing her reference a third, unfamiliar person, realizes Wonder knows her (Wonder can explain this with varying levels of attachment to Narumi/Merope).
Runa walks over to stand next to Wonder, and Narumi, excited to meet a friend of Wonder's, introduces herself with her usual Naruru introduction. Runa, blushing, nervously introduces herself in response. Narumi then explains that her cafe is sponsoring the event, so she's acting as a staff member.
When Wonder and Runa say they're here to participate in the event, Narumi resumes her event introduction, which seems to be scripted. She welcomes "all mystery fans" to "the town of puzzles, Akihabara", and explains that the event involves collecting 10 keyword cards from puzzles around the area, then using the keywords to solve a final puzzle. She then hands them a map. (Runa is impressed at her professionalism).
Runa thinks this sounds fun, and thanks her for the explanation. Narumi hopes they have fun, then leaves them to begin. Looking at the map, Runa notes that the mission locations aren't marked, so they'll need to find them themselves.
Tumblr media
She declares it's time to begin, and strikes a sort of dog paw/celebration (?) pose. Wonder initially doesn't do this pose with her, and she warns him she'll cry if he keeps not doing the pose with her. She then counts down and does it again, and Wonder somewhat sheepishly joins in.
Tumblr media
From here, the player is presented with a menu with nine mystery cards (each paired with a hint as to the person or place to check for that card's mission) which the player can select to begin that mission. After completing the mission and actually obtaining that keyword card, the card flips over, and is no longer selectable, instead simply displaying the collected keyword. The player can complete these nine missions in any order, but for simplicity's sake, this post will follow the order I played through them in. Certain events also occur between these missions, which seem to be prompted by having completed a certain number of missions.
"BA" Card
Hint: Find the little girl who loves animals on the streets of Akihabara; she may have a clue.
Tumblr media
Wonder and Runa come across a little girl, recognizable as an NPC who usually stands outside Shibuya station. (For clarity's sake, her name is unconfirmed, but this post will use Hiyori Koide for her.) Runa notes that she seems troubled, and Hiyori mutters, distressed, that it's supposed to have released today, but she can't find the Hundred Monster City gachapon machine anywhere.
Runa, worried, says they should check on her, and Wonder turns to Hiyori, offering to find the machine for her. Runa says she'll help as well, and notes that, for some reason, Hiyori doesn't feel like a stranger. Hiyori, relieved, thanks them both, and explains she's looking for a particular gachapon toy machine that dispenses the "Hundred Monster City" series of figurines.
Wonder and Runa then search the area for the machine, finding it further down the main street. They return to Hiyori, and Runa triumphantly cheers her catchphrase, "Woof woof awoo!", while doing her dog pose. Hiyori is slightly taken aback, then nervously replies, "Nyan nyan meow!". Runa then explains they found the gachapon machine she was looking for, and Wonder describes its location.
Hiyori earnestly thanks them, then admits this was actually a puzzle mission, to Runa's shock, though she did genuinely want to find that machine, finding the Nekomata figurine particularly cute. Hiyori then hands them a keyword card, revealing the letters "BA". Hiyori thanks them again and bids them farewell, saying she's going to go over to that gachapon machine now.
"ME" Card
Hint: Look for a man who looks like an inventor on the streets of Akihabara; he may have a clue.
Tumblr media
A messy-haired man calls out to Runa and Wonder, catching their attention. Runa is nervous, as usual, but the man casually assures her he's not shady (Wonder can point out this makes him sound even more shady). He then introduces himself as Shinta Ezaki, and says he works in a nearby building. Normally he's in the lab all day, but he's volunteered to help with maintenance on some of the machines used for the event today. However, he's missing some tools, and can't finish his work without a particular one. He admits he hates to ask strangers for this, but there's no one else.
Wonder agrees to help, and Shinta, saying he's glad but sounding about as casual as ever, tells them the "special screwdriver" he needs was already delivered to the accessories store down the street, so he just needs them to pick it up and bring it back to him. Runa wonders if they can really just take it, but Shinta assures them it's already paid for.
Sure enough, when they head over to the store and Runa tells the clerk they're here to get something for Mr. Ezaki, the clerk happily finds the package and hands it over, letting them know the payment is taken care of so they're fine to just take it.
Runa and Wonder bring it back to Shinta, and he hands them a "thank-you gift", which turns out to be a keyword card with the letters "ME". Runa realizes that means this must have been... Shinta finishes for her (sounding fake serious) a mission! Similar to Hiyori, though, he clarifies he really is helping with the event, and really did need the screwdriver. Apparently, his company is participating in this event, and Shinta himself has helped out with past events in Akihabara, too, in order to get out of the lab for a bit sometimes.
"KI" Card
Hint: Check out the arcade, and see if there are any clues there.
Tumblr media
Runa and Wonder enter the arcade, where the clerk tells them the crane game is currently free-to-play. Runa, excitedly, mentions that she loves crane games, and the clerk invites them to play, saying there's an extra prize if you manage to get the designated toy: a keyword card. Runa deduces that this is a mission, and does her dog pose again. She wonders aloud if they'll get to keep the plushie, too (finding them cute), then encourages Wonder as he gives the game a try.
Wonder manages to get a toy on the first try, and they both cheer. Runa shouts that he's awesome, and even the clerk is impressed. She then hands them the keyword card they earned, with the letters "KI". Runa enthusiastically says they should keep this up for the next mission.
Event 1
Tumblr media
Wonder and Runa stand outside, with Runa glad to see they're progressing more smoothly than she expected. She starts to wonder where the next mission is, but then her attention is caught by something in one of the stores next to them. When Wonder asks, she excitedly calls out that there's a Shichi-kun doll in the display window.
They walk over to get a better look, and Runa figures out that the store in question is a secondhand store, meaning someone entrusted this store with their Shichi-kun in order to pass him on to the next fan. Wonder notes how expensive the doll is, and Runa explains it's very rare, though it's too expensive for her to afford, so she can't even think about buying it. This doll was released shortly after Shichi-kun's debut, when he wasn't popular yet, so instead of collaborating with a production company, his team at the time handmade the dolls themselves. Since so few were made, they're very expensive now.
Runa thinks that the style of this doll, without hidden stitches, has a special charm, and is happy just to have gotten to see it. She may own a lot of Shichi-kun merch herself, but there can never be too much cute stuff! The narration says they stay there for a while looking at it.
"HA" Card
Hint: Observe where the maids gather on the streets of Akihabara; there may be a clue.
Tumblr media
Outside the maid cafe, Wonder and Runa encounter a maid muttering nervously to herself. Runa notices this, and points it out to Wonder, who asks the maid what's wrong. The maid greets them, and explains that the maid with the key to their store never came back, so they can't open the store. She has to stay here to explain to customers what happened, but she's really not sure how to fix the issue at hand.
Runa offers to look for the maid with the key for her, and the maid thanks them both. She says the maid with the key has blond twin tails, and should probably come right back with it if they explain. Runa, determined, says they'll go find her.
Sure enough, further down the street and around the corner they find a nervous blond maid. Wonder tells her about the missing key, and she panics, immediately apologizing and running past them back to the store. Runa worries that they can't actually trust her to make it back, so they run after her.
They return to the cafe, where the original maid sounds much less worried, and greets them. She then hands them a thank-you gift for their help, which turns out to be a keyword card with the letters "HA". Runa is again surprised to hear this was actually a mission, and the maid explains that her entire cafe is participating in the event to help liven up Akihabara. However, she needs to apologize: she actually found the spare key after they left and was able to open the store. Also, finding the maid with the key wasn't actually supposed to be their mission at all, she just panicked.
Runa and Wonder are very forgiving, however, and Runa says they were going to be doing some kind of task anyway, so it doesn't matter. The maid gives them another heartfelt thanks.
"OA" Card
Hint: The concept cafe might have a task for you, go and have a look.
Tumblr media
Wonder and Runa encounter Narumi in front of Nyan 2yan Claw, which, as Runa is surprised to find out, is where Narumi works. Narumi mentions that Wonder's a frequent customer (which Wonder reacts to slightly awkwardly), and Runa says she gets it now, this is what he's into. Wonder doesn't deny this- calling it either "heaven" or "a cafe of love and dreams"- and that actually starts to pique Runa's interest in it.
Narumi gets them back on track, asking how they're doing with the missions, but Wonder says they're doing fine. This impresses Narumi, who replies that it's especially difficult to keep going with this event since you even have to find the missions yourself. Runa enjoys the praise. Narumi then invites them to try her cafe's mission, which she implies is more difficult than the other missions. It's a five-question quiz, and in order to pass, you need to get all five questions correct.
The first question is "What is the name of this concept cafe?", with the answer being Nyan 2yan Claw. The second is "What is Naruru's job?", the answer being Idol. The third is "Omurice That Calls for Love, or Pancakes Full of Love- which of these isn't on the menu?", but this is a trick question, as they both are signature dishes. The fourth is "What is this activity about?", with the answer of course being solving puzzles. The final question is "Please convey your enthusiasm for completing this task to me!"; I'm not actually sure if you can get this one wrong, as it's not even really a question, but "Naruru's the best in the world!" was the answer I picked (the other two options were "Three cheers for Runa!" and "For the development of Akihabara!").
After the quiz, Runa is overjoyed they got them all correct, and Narumi congratulates them, saying not just anyone could complete this quiz, and calling them both incredible. Apparently, even the cafe's staff struggled with it. Runa admits she's happy to hear this, even if she's just flattering them, but Narumi seriously insists that she's not just saying it, this quiz really was difficult. Runa blushes, and mutters something about how she "might be falling" (for Narumi, implied?).
Narumi then hands them a keyword card with "OA", and says she'd love for them to visit her again after the event. Runa seems enamored, and tells Wonder he has to bring her along next time he comes here. Wonder's options are either "Certainly", or "It turns out you're into this, too". Runa mutters that this is the "land of dreams", "a second Shibuya, located in Akihabara", and "the birthplace of her heart", clearly entranced. She then says goodbye to Narumi, and faints.
"WE" Card
Hint: Look for a woman in professional attire on the streets of Akihabara; she may have a clue.
Tumblr media
Wonder and Runa encounter a woman towards the end of the street, looking around with her phone out. She loudly mutters that she can't find a good angle, not over there or over here, and she's really stumped. Her tone gives the impression that she's playing up her "confusion" intentionally, and Runa points out to Wonder that she's acting weird. Wonder either notes that her behavior seems purposeful, or that she's looking right at them; Runa agrees, it's fishy.
The woman then excitedly "notices" them, and calls them over, saying they came at just the right time, to Runa's alarm. The woman introduces herself as Saki Shirai, the editor of the Tokyo Informational Magazine. She explains that their next issue is going to feature Akihabara, so she was trying to take pictures to capture how charming this area is, but she just can't get anything good (and she really plays up her "distress" as she says this). She requests that they take a picture for her if anything catches their eye, and promises a reward for them if they do. Wonder agrees (directly, or noncommittally), and Shirai thanks them before walking away.
Once she's gone, Runa notes that Shirai was kind of overwhelming, but she still wants to do her best to help her out. The player then is prompted to take a picture with the game's camera function, though the location and subject don't seem to matter as long as it's within Akihabara. Runa is then impressed with the photo, saying it's overflowing with Akihabara's charm (scenery nearly as good as Shibuya's!), and they return to Shirai.
Shirai recognizes them from earlier, and asks if they got a photo for her. Runa prompts Wonder to show her the photo, and Shirai is delighted, calling it wonderful- a photo like that could be their cover! She then congratulates them (to Runa's confusion), and admits this was actually a mission, though once again, the photo is also helping her, so it's killing two birds with one stone. Shirai then hands them a card that says "WE", and tells them she heard "a dragon will fly out" when you collect all the keyword cards, to Runa's unamusement. Shirai calls it an editor joke, then heads off to the spot where they took the picture to take her own.
Event 2
Heading back down the street, Runa and Wonder pass by the secondhand store with Shichi-kun again. Runa is distracted by how cute he still is, but Wonder notices she has her own Shichi-kun doll hanging from her bag. Runa is surprised he noticed, and starts to explain, when a man rushes out of the store, and runs right into her, knocking her to the ground.
Tumblr media
As Runa gets back up, she realizes the fall also knocked her Shichi-kun doll off her bag. Wonder confronts the man, but the man just tells him to shut up, then something catches his eye. He snatches Runa's fallen Shichi-kun doll, then bolts.
The shop clerk comes out of the store, calling after the thief to stop, but he's already gone. Wonder asks, and she explains that she was showing the man the item in the display cabinet, when he grabbed it and ran. She asks if they're okay, and Wonder has the option to mention Runa's stolen doll. If he does, the shop clerk says she'll include that in her report to the police.
Runa is understandably troubled once they walk away from the store, and admits to spacing out for a moment. However, when Wonder brings her attention back, she resolutely says they should chase after the thief. The doll is precious to her, but she's sure he'd just throw it away if he "notices" (it's unclear what she's worried he'll notice), and she can't stand the thought of waiting for the police when she thinks about that. She acknowledges they still have missions left for the event, but of course, Wonder agrees to go after him with her. Runa, relieved, says they should go now, and recalls the man turned left.
Sure enough, the find the man at one end of the street, standing by a car. Runa loudly calls out that they found him, and the man is shocked to see them. Runa then demands he return her Shichi-kun, and the stuff he stole from the store, and Wonder tells him to give up, but of course the man is frustrated to be followed (muttering he just planned to sell the stuff off), and runs away again. This time Runa and Wonder give chase, and Runa, panting but determined, explains that she's actually pretty physically fit. She shouts again for him to stop. Wonder's narration describes her as "speeding up" and "pursuing him relentlessly."
Afterward, we see a policeman thanking them for their help, but warning them to be more careful. He walks off, and Wonder's narration says the thief was taken away by the police. Runa, still catching her breath, says that's one problem solved, and now they can get back to the puzzles.
"O" Card
Hint: There may be a clue task in the maid cafe, go there and check it out.
Tumblr media
Upon entering the maid cafe, Wonder and Runa are greeted by several maids calling out in unison. Runa fawns over the shop's cute interior, then corrects that maybe she should be calling it a mansion?
One maid asks if they can take a picture, and Runa, surprised, asks if she means a picture of the two of them with all the maids. The maid agrees, asking her again. Wonder can ask if it's free, which the maid assures him it is.
Runa, blushing, says she's nervous, as she has no idea what pose to do. The maid, addressing Wonder, asks him to strike the same pose as she (the maid) does, and Runa tells him to do his best.
The maid moves to stand next to them, and then counts down from three, before saying "Moe moe~?". Wonder gets three answer options ("Snort~!", "Mwa~ah!", and "Woof woof awoo~!"), which seem to dictate the pose that he, Runa, and the maid all strike, although "Mwa~ah!" is the correct answer (they all make hearts with both hands). ("Woof woof awoo~!" unfortunately does not result in Runa's dog pose.)
Afterward, the maid says they both did an excellent job, and hands them the photo as well as a commemorative prize (a keyword card that says "O"). Runa's excited they got a card as well, and the maid explains this was actually a mission. Hearing this, Runa says she's glad they gave it their all, and the maid invites them to return anytime.
"LC" Card
Hint: Look for an old man with a distinct temperament on the streets of Akihabara. He may have a clue.
Tumblr media
An old man (recognizable from the orange cat's side quest, where he sometimes "translates" the cat's meows, and tells Wonder about the cat's "backstory") calls out to Runa and Wonder, correctly guessing that they're working on the puzzle event. Runa nervously asks what he wants. He introduces himself as the "Puzzle-Solving Grandpa", and asks them to just call him Grandpa (It seems like he may give his actual name in Chinese, instead? I'm not sure, but this is definitely what he says in Japanese).
He explains that he's hidden messages around this part of Akihabara, and if they can find them all, it'll help lead them toward their goal. He then hands them a letter, with the text "Go to the red entertainment facility", which Runa reads out loud. He explains that they'll find next message there, and Runa seems impressed, saying she's getting excited about this. She suggests they head there right now, and Wonder seems to share some of her enthusiasm. She does her "woof woof awoo!" and dog pose, then they're off.
They find the next message outside the arcade (which is red), and Runa notes it's the same style as the first letter that Puzzle-Solving Grandpa handed them. This second message says "Go to the ruins where freedom is held high", which stumps Runa, who only gets as far as "freedom = free".
It turns out that the next message is on the duty-free shop, which Runa realizes is because the goods it sells are tax-free (I believe the shop is also closed, which is probably why the word "ruins" was used). The third message says "Look for a bento shop where you can't satisfy your hunger".
The next message is placed over a graffitied shutter, presumably shuttering the entrance to a closed bento shop. Runa triumphantly says they figured this one out at the same time, then reads out the fourth message: "Go to the crowded electronics store". She thinks this one is way too straightforward.
As they reach the next message (indeed, on the outside of the crowded electronics store), Runa decides that an easy question helps them out, so she doesn't mind being given that answer. She wonders if they're getting close to the end, then reads the fifth message: "There's a treasure next to a cat." She declares that this next stop has to be the last one, but isn't sure how to interpret "next to a cat".
This message actually leads them back to Puzzle-Solving Grandpa, who can tell from their faces that they've solved all the mysteries. Runa says that's right, and Wonder adds that the answer was hiding in plain sight. Puzzle-Solving Grandpa confirms: he's both the start and end point (presumably, he's the "treasure next to a cat", as he often stands next to the orange cat during those side quests).
Runa cheers, and Wonder asks why he set up all this. Puzzle-Solving Grandpa explains that this kind of game was popular when he was a kid, so he thought it would be fun to play it again, then wonders if they'd sell a game like this at a retro game store. Runa tells him it was fun visiting a lot of places, and Puzzle-Solving Grandpa is happy to hear this, rewarding them with a keyword card that says "LC". He says they're getting close to the end, and encourages them to keep doing their best.
"RA" Card
Hint: Look for a photography enthusiast on the streets of Akihabara. He may have a clue.
Tumblr media
Wonder and Runa see a man with a camera looking around, recognizable as another side quest character. (For clarity's sake, his name is unconfirmed, but this post will use Rikuto Shimizu for him.) Shimizu mutters to himself that he doesn't see it anywhere, but he's sure it's supposed to be here, and Runa notices this, pointing out "that person who keeps muttering to himself and looking around" to Wonder. Wonder tells her not to make eye contact/to pretend she didn't see him, but Shimizu spots them, and asks them for a moment, to Runa's alarm, though she still hesitantly asks him what he wants.
Shimizu asks if they've heard of a drink called "1-Up", and explains that there's supposed to be a limited-edition, regional variant of it sold around here, but he can't find it anywhere. He hopes to capture things that change using his camera. Wonder agrees to go look around for it, and Shimizu thanks them, saying he was about to give up. It's supposed to be in a vending machine, so he'd like them to let him know where if they find it.
Sure enough, down the street is a vending machine that Runa spots the drink in... however, it's actually "10-Up", not "1-Up". They return to Shimizu, but before he notices them, Runa notes that something about him (maybe his unique personality?) make him difficult to talk to...
Shimizu then notices them, and asks if they found it. Runa flounders, and says she'll leave it to Wonder, who then tells Shimizu about the vending machine. Shimizu says he looked around there, but must have missed it, and thanks them for their help with a thank-you present (a keyword card that says "RA"). Like the others, he clarifies that while this was part of the event, he really was looking for the limited edition can designs, so he's indebted to them. He then immediately heads off to take pictures of them, saying this street is full of change.
After he's gone, Runa mutters "Change, huh?" and notes that, now that he mentions it, Shibuya's changed a lot recently, too. She thinks it might actually be a good idea to take pictures, so you can look back at things later.
Event 3
Tumblr media
Wonder and Runa walk down the street, map in hands, chatting (no dialogue is shown). After a moment, the camera angle changes, and Runa dialogue does pop up, as she recalls that earlier, talking to the policeman had her super nervous. She hopes she didn't say anything weird, and Wonder either reassures her or says there's nothing they can do now. Moving past it, Runa says she's glad they caught the thief, and she got her Shichi-kun back.
Wonder can ask about the doll or not, but (presumably) either way, Runa says she can tell he wants to ask about it. She explains that it's not one of the early merch dolls, but one she made herself when she was little. She's sure the thief mistook it since it's also handmade. She's been a fan of Shichi-kun all this time, but like she mentioned before, there wasn't very much official merch, despite her really wanting to have some, so she decided to make her own. It was her first time, and it has a lot of flaws, but she's still very fond of it, and thinks it's because of this doll that she realized she likes hand-making things. And now she's attending a fashion design specialty school because she loves sewing! She's extremely relieved to have gotten her doll back.
Runa then seems to realize something, and when Wonder asks, she worries that after how long they spent hunting down the thief, they won't have time to finish the puzzle event! However, they only have a bit left, and they absolutely have to reach the goal, so they'll just have to work hard.
"T" Card
Tumblr media
With the other nine cards completed, the tenth card then appears on their progress sheet.
Hint: Something happened in a corner of Akihabara, find that place.
Wonder and Runa are walking down one of the side streets when Runa stops, and points out that someone appears to have fallen down up ahead.
Tumblr media
Wonder and Runa rush over to check on him, and the first thing the fallen man mutters is that all the mission cards he was "entrusted with" were stolen. At this rate, no one will get the keyword! Runa wonders why someone would do that, and the fallen man says he lives in this area, so he knows the man that stole the cards; he was complaining about the event being a waste of neighborhood committee funds (despite the event also having several sponsors). Runa declares that the man is terrible for ruining an event everyone was looking forward to. The fallen man adds that the man who stole the cards said "Without your cards, none of you will be able to finish the event!", then warns Runa and Wonder that it's dangerous for them, too, so they should give up and go home.
Wonder asks about the thieving man's name, and the fallen man replies that the thief is a small-time yakuza named Kouji Murakami. Runa, hearing this, asks Wonder if he's thinking of doing something dangerous, and says that while she'd like to finish the event too, Wonder's really important to her. Wonder replies he's "just investigating"/"won't show off", and Runa insists that he better promise her. Wonder avoids doing so, instead telling her to stay here/to call an ambulance. Runa agrees, but insists that he absolutely cannot do anything risky, or she'll hunt him down. Wonder thinks to himself that he should go change Kouji Murakami's heart quickly, before she does so.
To that end, Wonder heads to Mementos, and locates Murakami's Shadow.
Tumblr media
Shadow Murakami aggressively complains about the event, and his perceived misuse of the funds. He growls that he gets nothing out of an event like this, and it's driving his store to bankruptcy. Wonder tries to reason with him, but Shadow Murakami shouts back at him to shut up, insisting they should've canceled a shitty event like this. Enraged, he then becomes directly aggressive, turning into a Kurama Tengu.
After the fight, Shadow Murakami admits that he's aware his store's condition is his own fault, not that of the neighborhood committee fees, he was just pushing the blame onto others. Wonder suggests he start over/take advantage of the events when they occur, and Shadow Murakami says he's right, and he probably should've sponsored the events from the start. Maybe next time, he'll participate in one. He then returns to his real-world self.
Back in the real world, Wonder returns to the spot where he left Runa, finding the fallen man is now gone. Runa, glad to see Wonder return, explains that the man only had minor injuries, and decided to try to remake the stolen cards. However, the real Kouji Murakami walks up, and asks if the two of them are doing the missions. Runa, alarmed, says he's scary, but Murakami is unfazed, handing Wonder a keyword card with "T" on it (though he admits he's not the one who should be handing it out). Runa realizes that that must mean this man is...
At that moment, the man who fell earlier returns, and starts to apologize that remaking the cards is taking longer than he expected, but then is dumbfounded to see Murakami is back. Murakami casually apologizes and returns the rest of the keyword cards. As the two men talk, Runa comments that "this guy" (Murakami) seems completely different from what they heard about him, and Wonder can congratulate her, or suggest that maybe Murakami's actually nice. Runa is a bit dubious, but supposes that's true, then excitedly realizes they've completed all the missions now.
Final Mission
The two relocate back onto the main street, where Runa cheers that they've collected all the keywords. Wonder can reply that it was a long battle, or simpler than he expected; in the latter case, Runa says they were just easy for him, and hopes she didn't hold him back. She then reads out their keywords so far in no particular order, ending up with a nonsensical jumble. Wonder doesn't think that sounds right, and Runa agrees; this must be the true final mission!
The player is then prompted to arrange the keyword cards, with Runa guiding them and indicating which spot is correct. The final layout is as follows:
Tumblr media
The two then return to where they first talked to Narumi to start the event. Narumi is glad to see them, and guesses that, if they're here, that must mean... Wonder can finish, either "We're surrendering", "All puzzles solved!", or "In the name of Shichi-kun!"; if the third option is chosen, Runa indignantly says that's her line. Narumi then asks for the answer, and Runa says it's "Welcome to Akihabara", because that's what they got from rearranging the keywords. Narumi excitedly tells them that's correct, congratulates them, and gives them their prizes for completing the event.
Tumblr media
Afterward, Runa isn't surprised her legs are sore from all the walking around, and running after that thief. But they learned a bunch of great things about Akihabara, and got to see stores and talk to people. She thinks the real reward was the journey here, though she's glad to get a prize, too.
She's glad to hear Wonder had fun as well, and thanks him for today. She had a lot of fun, but is sure she wouldn't have had nearly as much without Wonder, given she's "really shy", "bad at talking", and "solving puzzles isn't her strong suit". She was only able to face all the challenges today because of Wonder. She then admits she has a thank-you gift for him, and hands him a Shichi-kun themed bag that she made herself.
Runa then says she thinks she wants to visit more places, for the sake of Shibuya and Shichi-kun, and asks if she can invite Wonder along again in the future. If he agrees, she thanks him, and says he can use the bag then! Then, she realizes it's gotten dark, and the event's already over, so they part ways, and head home.

HELLO it is the idia anon from like almost two months ago i think. idk if u remember bt i only just saw your response post bc i lowk forget i have tumblr sometimes (adhd so its out of sight out of mind). tbh i completely forgot about my own ask and i was scrolling thru the idiavil tag yet again when i saw your post and i was like "wow, me too anon." and then i realized it was me. IM TYPING THIS IN AN IDIA SHROUD JACKET BTW THE FIXATION HAS CONSUMEDME. i think abt twst so much. I HOPE U DO NOT MIND ME RAMBLING I WAS GOING TO GET TO AN ACTUALLY IMPORTANT THING.
I LOVED READING YORU HEADCANONS THEY GIVE ME LIFE. i have a tonn of idiavil hcs and au ideas but ive not rlly written any of them (band au that im mega obsessed with is collecting dust in my notes app. i just can't form coherent thoughts). i could soend hours talkign abt idiavil I LUOVE THEM.
ur mention of xenoblade chronicles and kingdom hearts rlly makes me want to play both of them... i know a bit about kh and i want to play it but i know nothing abt xenoblade chronicles... ANYWAYS THANK U FOR THE LOST. I THINK I MIGHTHAVE UNDIAGNOSED AUTISM o(≧▽≦)o
oh i do remember you!! i wish i could forget i had tumblr sometimes LOL, instead i'm way too active on here and keep making myself so busy with different creative projects on my blogs that i'll never have time to post everything i'd like to post. i love when people ramble in my inbox though so no worries!!
omg if you ever post any headcanons or fic about that band AU i would love to see 👀 i have so many ideas that i never do anything with because i'm not much of a writer but i too could talk about idiavil and my other twst ships for hours so i totally get that lol. here's another bonus idiavil HC for you: idia feels really embarrassed about saying affectionate things face to face so he sends vil cute texts disguised as game notifications. things like "congratulations! you've reached max affection with idia! ❤". he also sends vil love letters with roses attached... in animal crossing. and then he secretly hopes vil never finds the time to open up his game and read them because he thinks he might die of embarrassment, but unfortunately for him, vil does read them and he sends a letter back every single time.
and okay so. iirc i made a kingdom hearts reference in that post but just mentioned xenoblade in the tags because it's so much less popular/recognizable. but i was originally going to make a reference to xenoblade chronicles 1. i love the whole series and if you like lengthy JRPGs with unique combat and wild stories then you'd probably love it too! but i feel like idia would love XC1 in particular because a major theme of that game's story is that it's about fighting for the freedom to choose your own future. it's about spending your life feeling like you're powerless to change anything, and then allowing yourself to see that that isn't true--that if you keep looking forward and choose not to give up, you can create a world where you can shape your own destiny. you can go the distance. i think it's a story that would really resonate with idia. now, do i think he would see these themes as being applicable to his own life in a realistic way? absolutely not lol, at least not before the events of book 6, but he'd love the fantasy of it. he'd also relate to shulk--the main protagonist of the game--partly for spoilery reasons and partly because shulk is a fucking nerd who resents having to go outside and would rather spend all day in his research lab working with machines. and now i've rambled on about a game you haven't played lol, but if it isn't obvious by now i highly recommend it! and kingdom hearts is my favorite game series of all time so i highly recommend it as well. fun fact: idia's voice actor, kouki uchiyama, also voices roxas in the japanese version of KH!

Lingzi's Odaibako/Twitter Answers Collection Volume 1
Tumblr media
In case you weren't aware, the author of 1031 All Saints Street Lingzi has a twitter account they update rarely, mostly rt'ing announcements of the Japanese release, 1031 fanart, Jpns comedians, and sometimes posting doodles and answering fan questions through Odaibako. You can still send questions/comments/requests through Odaibako but please be respectful and mindful! As the author stated they will not respond to any questions or suggestions about future content! Also do not spam, Lingzi answers in rare bursts so they might not get to answer your comment any time soon. Here is a compilation of what has been answered so far. Chinese questions and answers are being machine translated and I'm verifying with a friend the Japanese questions translations.
A few clarifications. I will skip some doodle requests/drawn answers and will compile them later in a post with all of Lingzi's twitter drawings. Everything with [] marks an edit so the English sounds more natural.
1. Hello~ Lingzi! What made you want to become a manga artist?
To put it simply, it was because of a domestic comic called "Super Alloy Society". At that time (around 14 years old), I became completely obsessed with it after reading a few chapters, and I was very eager to draw such a work myself 😌
Source
2. Does Nick [have] feeling[s] towards Lynn?
ummm······I would say it's more like “he is curious about/interested in Lynn”
Source
3. Who out of all the character would have the [ugliest] laugh?
Ah-never thought about this before, maybe broken [Cupid]?
Tumblr media
Source
4. Will we get stories about Nick's university friends? Their designs are so cool and I would love to know more about them!
maybe? 🤔🤔 let me ask my editor next time.
Source
5. anyone you relate to in the series?
Does this count? Look that is my name on the background 🤣🤣
Tumblr media
Source
6. Which character do you enjoy drawing [the most]?
Definitely Nick[.] He's the easiest to draw, also [the] sexiest. 😌
Source
6. Lingzi, do angles live longer than demons?
Yes! Angels basically cannot pass away unless they are killed. Teacher Lynn's age is also in the three digits~
Source
7. I really, really, REALLY love All Saints Street. Thank you so much for creating this series! There are so many diverse characters, and I love the charming and relaxed atmosphere. I find it really difficult to choose a favorite character because I just love them all so much (Nick is objectively the best though). It encouraged me to try learning to read Chinese again in order to read the manhua. Again, thank you so much for creating this!
Wow I'm flattered, thank you for [liking] my manhua 😳😳 I will do my best to keep [it] going!
Source
8. A work of my pleasure! I love you! I love “All Saints Street”! I love you big hair! Thank you for creating such wonderful works!
[Thank you]! 😊😊 Hope you will like the Japanese [dubbed] version too~
Source
9. This is not an ask but I wanted to say thank you for your hard work! Your series makes me very happy and I love it so much! It's inspired me more to continue making my own characters and helped me create art more. thank you so much! &lt;3
Thank you too 😊😊 Glad I [..] helped.
Source
Not a question but a fact related to a previous question that is very much lore relevant:
Fun fact: Although angels live much longer than demons, because demons can reproduce independently but angels cannot, the number of angels is currently less than one-tenth of the number of demons. ( ← A small private device
Source
10. Can Lynn turn into a girl like Nick and Neil?
No~ Transfiguration is a demon thing.
Source
11. Can Ira taste demon blood? or does he hate it?
He can [...] but demon blood is always too strong for vampires, one bite is like [drinking] ten cups of coffee at once[.] They can get really hyperactive by drinking demon blood. Some vampires may like it, but not Ira. (And it's really bad for vampire kid[s])
Source
12. Hi! This is not a question but i wanted to tell you that I REALLY LOVE ALL SAINTS STREET, since 2020 i been in love with this manhua/donghua, thank you for create all saints street, the manhua/donghua really help me in hard times and inspire me to create my own comics. I really love the characters specially Abu and Luis ❤️
Thank you too, glad you enjoy my work 😊😊
Source
13. Who gives the best hugs?
Maybe?
Tumblr media
Source
14. Why are Lily's wings so small compared to other angels?
No special reason, I just think it's cuter this way.
Source
REALLY IMPORTANT NOTE: IN CHINESE FANDOMS C P MEANS CHARACTER PAIRING, IS HOW THEY REFER TO SHIPS/SHIPPING
I will replace it with ship because I don't want the use the acronym due to tumblr search.
15. Will it be very Lynn/Nick? Because people keep telling me that Nini/Lily is the official ship, I am troubled. If the original painting is very bad, it feels like I have violated someone else's OC. I'm very sorry for disturbing you, and I really like your illustrations and works!
To answer this question, mainstream ship ≠ is correct. I think any ship has a reason to exist as long as some people like it. I don’t think it is a minefield at all... and even "official" ship does not mean anything. What kind of ship you want to consume is completely up to you, and you don’t need to ask for my opinion, just be happy

Gonna cap off the Japan book haul posts with some odds and ends picked up at random bookstores throughout Tokyo, as opposed to one big stash of Jimbocho or Comiket goods . First off - behold, the complete collection of officially published books about FLCL:
Tumblr media
I already owned several of these - of course the FLCLickNoise (bottom-right) interview book was the start of this mini-project. Bottom-center is the FLCL Archives - which was actually printed in English *extremely* briefly, but it goes for way too much, so I imported the Japanese version. That book is the "supplemental 101", with settei/character design sheets, concept art, production documents, and even those original scripts and project proposals which I have blogged about in the past. Top-center is FLCLism, which is more like a conceptual art book - a grab-bag of promotional art, production art, random photographs, and interviews with some of the team. I will do write-ups of those interviews someday!
And rounding out the collection from Mandarake Akihabara, we have in the top-right the Groundwork of FLCL. This is much more of "live" production book - lots and lots of genga/key frames, sketches with timing sheets, e-conte/storyboards, etc. These books are always a little funny, because its not like the median person will study these or anything, and they don't work as an artbook, at least not cleanly. But as a preservation of the process they have a beauty no artbook can have - something you own for the total package as opposed to any specific page.
The bonus book on the left is The Art of Tadashi Hiramatsu, a longtime GAINAX animator, and Animation Director for episodes 1, 3, & 6 of FLCL. So not technically part of the collection but certainly deserving of some extra credit. He was a pretty core part of the team for the show - Tsurumaki names him frequently in FLClickNoise when discussing an approach to a scene (Though I rank him below people like Yoji Enokido or Imaishi). He also loves Mamimi like me and this book has some great Mamimi art - as well as a ton of Kare Kano art, where he was the character designer and Chief Animation Director.
As always, if anyone wants any deeper dives into some of the books let me know, but that is probably long enough for now. Lets see what else I can gather up...

hello it is i anon who is definitely not you. you should show everyone ur super cool manga collection and also tell me about your favorite characters in great detail . btw
why hello anon who definitely isn't me!! thank you for asking because i have been waiting for someone to ask!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
here's the main shelf and my bulletin board!!! closeups + unnecessarily in depth rambling + other collection stuff under the cut (please please click keep reading please click it please please ple)
Tumblr media
closeup of the top shelf, this one mostly has my hero academia and one piece stuff. also has my junji ito books, and the demon slayer funkos i couldn't fit anywhere else. the mha figures along the top are knockoff wcf figures, not the real thing </3 bought them as cake toppers actually. i don't have all the mha manga i'm missing quite a few, but i have smash 1-2, team up missions 1-3, and all of the school briefs light novels
Tumblr media
middle shelf, this one is half midari ikishima shrine and half assorted manga and figures. plus the kyoka jiro plush that wouldnt fit on the top shelf
Tumblr media
bottom shelf! the manga is double layered on the sides for space conservation, the ones in the back are et cetera 1-9, chronicles of the cursed sword 1, psychic academy 1-2, .hack legend of the twilight 1-3 and .hack another birth 1-3. those and the buso renkin books were all given to me by a friend
Tumblr media
this is one of my favorite figures, himiko toga by banpresto. it was surprisingly cheap for how good it is, i think it was like $38? the kyoka jiro sticker is something my friend got for me when he visited japan, and it still has the original price tag on it which i think is cool. in this pic you can also see the shoyo hinata funko pop (held up by sticky tack lmao) and the kurogiri + twice funkos. these (and my many other tiny funkos) are actually keychains but i removed most of the keychain part and i display them as figures instead
Tumblr media
jiro section!! i really want to get her other funko variations, the school festival version of her with her guitar and the gamestop exclusive ofher with her microphone. and i REALLY want a scale of her, the newest one that's on preorder right now is so fucking cute but i'm too broke for it rn :( someday she'll be mine, but for now i just have a counterfeit wcf lmao
Tumblr media
YAMATO !!! goddd i love him so much. got this figure super recently actually, it was like last week. i saw him in boxlunch and couldnt resist
Tumblr media
the one piece section! i accidentally cut off the nico robin wano figure in this one oops :( i have the two ace's story light novels, the heroines ln (in japanese), the first manga volume in japanese, and the first fullmetal alchemist volume in japanese (doesn't fit the theme here, i know, but it didnt fit on the other shelves). here, i also have a vinsmoke reiju figure, a boa hancock figure in the back, a robin figure (dont ask why she's in her underwear i dont know either. but man do i like it), a yor forger figure, matching wano zoro and luffy funko keychains, and all my demon slayer funko keychains. i'm pretty sure this is the full set of them, i might be missing a nezuko variation though
Tumblr media
this small bakugo figure (which sits on top of mha ultra analysis) is the first figure i ever got, i think i got it like five years ago? i don't even remember where i got it from, it was probably a gashapon machine somewhere idk. i lost his original stand ages ago so now he's sticky tacked to a lego :(
Tumblr media
here's a closeup on my beloved midari ikishima shrine!! on the side is stickers of her sticky tacked to the shelf, and to the left is a hatsune miku drink can and a small yuji itadori figure. the shrine consists of 6 acrylic stands, 3 keychains, 3 button pins, 2 enamel pins, two sets of stud earrings, 6 stickers, 1 playing card with her on it (above the stickers but its cut off in the pic) and a bottle of purple nail polish that exactly matches the shade of hers. and kakegurui volumes 1 and 3 ofc (i plan to add kakegurui midari and the other kakegurui manga volumes to this soon). i really want more officially licensed midari merch but it's so hard to find and there's barely any of it. the white stand that some of the stuff is sitting on is a funko pop box with paper attached to it lmao
Tumblr media
moving down to the second shelf! here's a brook figure, i really love this guy. the sculpting on his hands is SO good
Tumblr media
next to brook is a zenitsu figure, a giyuu tomioka figure i got from a gashapon machine, and two tbhk pins
Tumblr media
meruem and komugi funko pop on top of the manga :') my god i love these two so much. i really want to get that bandai figure of them but its like $500 at the CHEAPEST and it's not even good quality :( i'd like to get the hunter fan studios figure of them but alas, its also $500 dollars. someday i will </3 there's also a yuji itadori acrylic stand and a yuji funko keychain to the left that i forgot to take a closeup of
Tumblr media
i've also got the komugi funko because of course i do, and it's displayed in front of hxh vol 25 because of course it is. someday i'm gonna get the meruem and pitou pops and i want them soo fucking bad but they're harder to find. also a zoro figure! from the same set as brook and the robin and otama figures from the top shelf.
Tumblr media
had to do a closeup on this adorable killua and alluka pin, and the killua funko keychain
Tumblr media
bottom shelf closeups! here's the middle of the shelf, with the rets of my hxh funkos (netero, bisky, and kurapika), my radical ed funko (i want the other two so bad but they're expensive :( got a matching keychain though), a honey senpai funko and a kuromi one. plus a cool large miku pin, a yor forger pin, and a pochita plush. i really love the all in one death note book. also, death note volume 3 (the blue one that's slightly taller than the others) was the first manga i ever got! i got it at a thrift store like four years ago i think. the k-on omnibus is the most recent manga ive gotten
Tumblr media
yugioh section! duelest 1-4 and millennium world 1-3 were both gifts from a friend, and i got zexal 1-2 at a thrift store. they were from a school library, hence the stickers on the bottom that say west and south. really annoying, but i mostly covered them with a yugioh gameboy cartridge (i do not own a gameboy lmao). also ohshc pins!
Tumblr media
on top of the yugioh manga is my other mha funko keychains, cubone and pikachu figures, a gudetama keychain, and a pochita necklace (which is actually a friendship necklace with my friend @/fartfeild)
Tumblr media
other side of the shelf! the demon slayer pins have a glare on them in the pic which sucks. also have a miku pin, a gudetama coin purse thing, a mimukyu plush and figure (there's another mimikyu figure on top of the k-on manga), and four one piece pins
btw, the way i prop up the pins is by sticky tacking them onto legos!!
Tumblr media
that's all for the shelf!! the shelf below this one is just full of empty boxes from the scales and funkos. onto the bulletin board!!
Tumblr media
kyojuro rengoku, denji, zero two, tamaki suoh, takashi mori, honey senpai, and katsuki bakugo enamel pins! the chainsaw man and one piece things are cardboard packaging from other things that i cut out.
Tumblr media
i LOVE this power pin, she's so fucking cute. the nami pin is gorgeous <3
Tumblr media
two my melody pins, a hello kitty pin, and a chainsaw man button! plus an iguro keychain i got from a gashapon machine, and midari ikishima panels i printed. cause obviously i did
Tumblr media
sailor mercury keychain! it's from 1999 (does that count as vintage? i think it does)
Tumblr media
anya forger, all might, and bakugo keychains! plus a really high quality boa hancock enamel pin and a kurapika pin. the pretty flower is a pin i got from a melanie martinez concert, and the pink paper is confetti from the concert
Tumblr media
dr stone lanyard, hxh keychain, kuromi pins, more midari panels, and multiple enamel pins (2 zoros, straw hat jolly roger, decidueye pokemon, yumeko jabami, and a dragon pin i got from a local artist at a fair)
Tumblr media
jet black keychain (got it in a blind bag and im still mad i didnt get ed. i love jet too though), an emma keychain, more manga panels (ririka momobami and himiko toga) and a joey wheeler keychain that tragically got cut off in the pic. the chopper and luffy pins are part of a set with the zoro one, and i wish i'd put them together instead of splitting them up. i'll probably rearrange this sometime and then i'll pt them all together. there's also another melanie martinez pin from a concert, and two more pokemon ones
Tumblr media
this thing came with one piece heroines, it's basically a second dust cover that advertises other one piece books. i kept it because of this cute nami drawing and oda's signature
also, the way i hang the button pins up is by sliding the wire piece behind a thumbtack :) please ignore my awfully chipped nail polish
Tumblr media
tumblr won't let me add more images so i'll have to do a second post for all my posters. sorry this was so fucking long i know literally nobody cares or will read it but i needed to ramble about all this somewhere :3 my animanga collection is my favorite thing ever in the world. also on the off chance that anyone who does care reads this, if anyone wants to know more about a specific thing (where i got it, how much it cost, etc) please send an ask or dm and i'd love to tell you!!!

last december my friend Kayoko came to visit and now, six months later, husband prime and i have finally got round to trying the collection of Japanese Kit-Kats she brought us. Here are our findings.
First, the subjects:
Tumblr media
the flavours aren’t clear on all of them, but with the aid of google translate we have, starting at the top left and going across
top row: strawberry, milk tea, coffee
middle row: orange, standard kit kat, cheesecake
bottom row: pistachio, whole wheat, matcha (green) and dark chocolate (”adult sweetness” is the translation of the label, lol)
tastings below the cut
the first one we tried was milk tea. Japanese milk tea is black tea brewed in milk and sweetened with plenty of sugar. Slightly reminiscent of builder’s tea in the UK in that it’s strong and sweet, but milk tea is creamier.
Tumblr media
the milk tea kit kat was very sweet to start, but the tea flavour was definitely noticeable at the end and lent a richness and depth to the white chocolate (which i generally don’t care for). Very good. 9/10 would eat again.
kit kat two was pistachio.
Tumblr media
now, i love pistachio in all its forms so i was looking forward to this one. Sadly, the pistachio flavour was very mild, almost undetectable. Still very tasty but a slight disappointment. 6/10
next is strawberry
Tumblr media
another white (or rather pink) chocolate version. This one was very aromatic with a strong strawberry punch. Definitely artificial strawberry but a light and fresh one, not at all cloying. Personally i love fruit flavours in candy and so i really enjoyed this. 8/10
cheesecake is next
Tumblr media
not super strong in the cheese flavour, but light and pleasant. It would be good paired with the strawberry actually. 5/10
next, orange
Tumblr media
if you’ve ever had a Terry’s Chocolate Orange the flavour of this kit kat will be familiar to you. They’re almost exactly the same. So, delicious. Nice to have a bit of light crunch with the Terry’s flavour actually. 7/10
next, coffee
Tumblr media
we weren’t certain at first if this was coffee flavour or just “coffee break” and it was a pretty strong chocolate flavour to start but with a definite hint of coffee at the end. Very nice, and probably would be good with a cup of coffee. 7/10
next is what google translate concluded was whole wheat
Tumblr media
this one was fantastic. Very light and crunchy but with texture to the crunch, not too sweet with a caramelly, biscuity flavour in the chocolate. i thought it was a bit like a white chocolate digestive might be, husband prime likened it to a custard cream. Either way, fab. 10/10 i am going to be craving this one.
next, dark chocolate
Tumblr media
or “adult sweetness” according to the translation app. Saucy 😏. Dark chocolate isn’t my favourite but this was very good. Had a nice bitter edge without being overwhelming and also very rich. Good stuff. 8/10
standard kit kat
Tumblr media
it’s a classic for a reason, and the japanese version has richer chocolate than you get in either the UK or US, with a lot of depth of flavour. Hard to go wrong. 7/10
last and definitely least, matcha
Tumblr media
look, i know matcha has its adherents but you’re all wrong and have terrible taste. i tried proper matcha prepared by trained experts when i lived in japan and it was good, if a bit grassy for me personally. Very good when paired with some of their traditional sweets (sweet bean paste my beloved) but when it comes to flavouring other things? Ugh. No. Gross. Why do you want your ice cream to taste like lawn clippings?
this kit kat did not taste like lawn clippings. It tasted, in husband prime’s words, like fish food (DON’T ASK ME HOW I KNOW THIS he made sure to add). Anyway, it was nasty. If you like matcha you might like it, idk, who can say what horrors your palate will tolerate. But for me it was only redeemed by the sweet crunch and the fact that the matcha flavour only came out at the end. 1/10.
the scores out of 10 obviously are based on my personal taste though i tried to be objective, hence the high rating of the dark chocolate. The following is my preference ranking, from first to worst
1. whole wheat
2. milk tea
3. strawberry
4. pistachio
5. orange
6. coffee
7. dark
8. standard
9. cheesecake
sir not appearing in this ranking, it knows what it did: matcha
this was fun, and if anyone has a source for black market whole wheat kit kats... call me.

🐸 + the bestest Slytherin Cord??
THANK YOU FAE FOR ASKING ABOUT MY BB!
1. Something they collect: Ever since Cord was a little girl, she liked to collect seashells whenever she went to the beach. After her parents’ death, collecting seashells was paused because the beach became too painful for her to visit. Cord resumed collecting seashells when Drea took her and Harry to the beach after the mess that was the Department of Mysteries
2. Their sun, moon, and rising star sign: Gemini, Aries, and Leo
3. The first thing they bought with their own money: It’s funny, all of Cord’s friends thought she would get a bunch of books with her own money. They were struck dumb, however, when she instead bought sheet music to write songs on
4. One positive personality trait of theirs: Her ability to see the good in others, even when they least deserve it
5. Their favorite ‘80’s song: Under Pressure by Queen and David Bowie
6. If they’re a good or bad cook: Cord is a pretty good cook, which is good because Drea’s strength lies in baking. So, whenever the two of them are having dinner together, Cord will cook the dinner while Drea makes the dessert
7. Their favorite horror movie: The Rocky Horror Picture Show
8. Who would play them in a biopic about their life: Freida Pinto
9. Who would play their older/younger version: Zaynah Vastani for the younger version, Shelley Conn (who also plays her mother) for her older version
10. An event from their High School reunion: So, no High School reunion because this takes place in England and this is boarding school. However, there was a reunion of sorts celebrating the anniversary of Voldemort’s defeat and Hogwarts being rebuilt. A lot of things happened from Tracey announcing she was dating a Japanese witch she met while traveling to Japan to Harry and Cord announcing that they’re planning to move to California to a certain town (*hint hint nudge nudge*)
