Another de-aged Danny au, but he's with Dan & Ellie & Jazz as well.
Jason has like just arrived back to Gotham, caused chaos in the underbelly due to well, 8 heads in a duffle bag, and is just starting his takeover of Crime Alley. It's going good, great even! And then he busts some sort of gang or smuggling ring run by people in white suits and there's... holy shit why do these four toddlers have Lazarus eyes?!
Is that a lab?! And Lazarus waters?! Jason might be a bit mad but he's not an asshole, he's not going to just leave these kids here to the streets. He can't just take them to the Batclan either, and as much as he begrudgingly trusts Talia, he sure as fuck doesn't trust Ras. Who knows what he'd do to four... what are they, pit-kids?
Now he's juggling his whole revenge-thing, running a criminal empire, taking over Gotham's underbelly, and being a single dad. At least the goonion seems to be down for helping, seeing as he's making Crime Alley safer...? .... Fuck he needs some proper sleep

Did someone say teenage mutant ninja turtles
#Fun fact 1: in multiple iterations of TMNT Leonardo is thrown through a window :D#I'm not sure if it happens in Rise (2018) but if it doesn't he got thrown off a roof so close enough#I know it happens in Tales (2024)#And 2003#Not sure about 2012 and 1987 (I haven't finished them yet) but I'm pretty sure it happens in both of them#Fun fact 2: the creators of 2012 had a mission to include every character from TMNT ever. Seriously wtf where they thinking#Fun fact 3: in the comics the turtles all had red masks#Fun fact 4: in 2012 Leonardo is obsessed with the show 'space heroes' (star trek)#Fun fact 5: Rise (2018) is the only iteration where Raphael is the leader (however Leonardo becomes the leader at the end of the show)#Fun fact 6: The Shredder is a different species depending on the iteration#Please someone ask me about TMNT I love it so much please ask about I'm going to explode#teenage mutant ninja turtles#Edit: holy shit I have a lot to say about TMNT

you are so lucky to not have watched s4-8
people always ask me 'katie why did you only watch half of voltron??' and i'm just like guys i thought we all agreed that voltron was not a very good show 💀
#so like why would i spend time watching something not very good LMAO#ask#anonymous#actually i was wrong i did watch season 4 and parts of season 5 and season 6#but i had to stop because the lotor plotline was pissing me off too much#if they had kept zarkon alive as the primary antagonist and made lotor a reluctant ally to the team then i would have liked that a lot more#but the whole... lotor becomes emperor and then voltron allies with the new galra empire plotline was just sooo bogus to me like#it was such a shallow way to resolve the voltron vs galra empire story#also i hated the plotline where keith leaves the team mainly because i think the bom are also very boring#i really do think the idea of allura and lotor being the inheritors of altean alchemy is a compelling idea but the way they executed it...#finally i strongly dislike all the random forced timeskips. it just felt like the writers would use a timeskip#whenever they wanted to force a plot development offscreen that they didn't want to devote time to in the story#at the end of the day idgaf about ships i care about the story and character arcs. and i liked nothing LOL

Bait & Switch, pt. 2
<< Part 1 // Part 2 // Part 3 >>
Based on "I wasn't in that tunnel."
Call of Duty, implied soapghost cw: angst, hurt no comfort (yet), MWIII spoilers
---
When Johnny died, a black hole swallowed Ghost whole, bones and blood crushed into numbness by an all-encompassing gravity. Work, duty, life went on, but even spreading Johnny's ashes in Scotland — a place they'd talked about visiting together during those rare moments when exhaustion-induced delirium held the cold voice of reason at bay — even that couldn't counter the gravity holding him suspended in a single moment, knees crashing into blood-soaked concrete and a choked voice calling out to a man who would never answer.
The longer they chase Makarov through his little puppet show, though, the more the numbness gives way to other feelings — pain, despair, rage — that grow more potent every day they fail to bring the bastard to justice.
They've searched for years, yet they're always two steps behind.
And this bloodbath of an op is no different.
If he has to focus his rage on someone other than Makarov, though, he's glad it's Makarov's dog, dubbed Agent Zero by the task force generals, stalking his team's steps today. The demon appeared six months after their failure in the Channel Tunnel and has hounded the 141 ever since, denying them victories, decimating their support squads, and nearly killing each of the core members at least once.
Zero seems to have it out for Ghost in particular, though. The agent has put him on medical leave more than a dozen times already, and today will be no different.
If he can escape with his life, that is.
Ghost controls his breathing and prepares for the coming fight the best he can with a bullet hole in his side. He's not bleeding out, so he'll take that as a win, even if the blood loss is making him woozy. Sunlight blazes down on him as he stands in the middle of the open area between warehouses and waits for Zero to catch up.
As if summoned, Zero stalks out from behind a building, thick body hidden behind layers of black tactical gear and a full helmet. Based on their build and the muffled growls he's heard in past confrontations, Ghost guesses Makarov's agent is a man, but the tinted glass of their helmet makes it impossible to know for sure.
It doesn't matter, though. Whoever they are, they have to die. The 141 will never catch Makarov while his dog is nipping at their heels.
The agent weaves through the detritus of dead Konni and SAS soldiers while scanning the area. Ghost has already ordered the remaining SAS support units to fall back, and all the Konni soldiers are dead, the last one lying at Ghost's feet, eyes staring unseeing at the blue sky.
It's just the two of them now.
Despite the sun's heat, a chill pebbles Ghost's skin. This will likely be the end for one of them. He hopes it's Zero, if only for his team's sake.
Ghost himself has nothing left to lose.
The pavement radiates the afternoon sunlight, the air blurred with shimmering waves. Sweat soaks into Ghost's mask and runs in rivulets down his back.
Zero's helmet turns his way.
The agent freezes for a split second... before breaking into a dead run, headed straight toward Ghost.
Feet pound on the pavement in time with Ghost's quickening heartbeat. And just like every other time they've clashed, a sinuous familiarity in the way Zero moves wraps around Ghost's senses, more an innate recognition of form than the identification of any specific action. He ponders the sensation as Zero barrels down on him, all terrifying focus and yet easy grace. If the agent weren't his sworn enemy, he thinks he could find beauty in those movements.
He waits until the last minute to dodge, using his own speed and Zero's momentum to push the agent away. Zero is expecting the move, however, and swings around to land a hard punch to Ghost's throat. Ghost twists, the blow glancing off his tac vest instead. They round on each other and dive in again.
Attack. Deflect. Block.
So it goes for what seems like eternity, trading blows over blood-slick stones. And still, the movements haunt Ghost with that winding thread of familiarity.
A phantom ache builds in his chest, though he doesn't know why.
He dodges a fist to his injured side, and Zero pauses for a split second, helmet tipping down. Ghost uses the distraction to attempt a headlock but wheezes when an armored fist collides with his injury. In a haze of pain, Ghost grips Zero's neck harder, kicks the agent's feet out from under them, and slams them face-first into the ground. A crunching sound rings in Ghost's ears, and tempered glass fragments spill over the pavement.
The impact doesn't keep the devil down, though. Zero shoves Ghost away, using the momentum to scramble out of reach. Ghost lands on his back with a huff, the sharp pain in his side nearly blinding him.
He's getting too fucking old for this.
Maybe tonight will prove it.
He lifts himself up on one elbow to get eyes on Zero, a little confused that he's not already fending off another attack. But... his enemy is standing stock still a few feet away.
More importantly, the broken visor leaves the helmet wide open to the sunny day, giving Ghost his first, full view of the person who's been terrorizing them for years.
A broken sound of confusion wheezes through Ghost's tight throat.
From inside the broken helmet, blue eyes flick down to meet his gaze — the exact same shade of blue that's haunted his dreams since the day he lost everything.
Or so he thought.
It can't be.
It can't.
And yet—
"Johnny?"
The name rips from his throat like a desperate prayer, mangled by panting breaths of overexertion. The man's glassy eyes go wide and... confused?
And then he drops the knife in his hand like it's burned him before falling to his knees at Ghost's side.
"Hells fuckin' bells, Lt. What happened? Are ye broken?"
Scars crisscross the man's face, puckered and vicious, but... Those eyes. That voice.
And yet—
Ghost scrambles back, his frozen body falling back on the familiarity of distrust. "Get the fuck away from me," he growls. "Dunno who you are, but... but you're not him. You can't be him."
"Lt..."
A note of sadness and desperation coats the word he's heard a thousand times from lips that look just like those. The man reaches out, but Ghost smacks his hand away.
"Don't touch me," he growls.
Because it's a trick. It has to be a trick. He's not this lucky. His life is made of tragedy, the highs only there to ensure a longer drop when everything crumbles to dust. Maybe that's what this is, then? A trick to raise him up so high that the drop finally shatters him?
Maybe he's lost his mind. Or maybe he's delirious from excessive blood loss. Regardless, he won't fall for whatever game Makarov is playing now.
He attempts to stand, but it seems his body has chosen this moment to finally betray him. He groans and presses a hand into his side. A vicious hiss leaves the man's mouth as blood seeps into Ghost's glove, turning the white paint red.
"Shite. Tha's bad. Ye need to call for med evac. Are the others here?"
"Wouldn't you like to know. Makarov got you doing his interrogatin' now?"
"What? No, I'd never—"
"Never hunt the 141 for years on end. Never fuck up our missions right and left? Never ruthlessly kill soldiers without a hint of remorse? No. My Johnny would never. You, though? You've killed half of the people lying around us. Saw you do it with my scope. Now you expect me to believe you're... you're him?" Ghost shakes his head and bites back another groan of pain. "No. Johnny is dead. You're just one of Makarov's tricks."
The man's face twists into something close to panic. "Fuck. Ghost, I swear to ye... I don't... I don't remember any of tha'. What I can tell ye is I was never in tha' tunnel. Konni bastards grabbed me in Sibera and sent the 141 back with... some kind of replacement. Makarov would come see me and talk about a serum that did too good a job making them into me. Last thing I remember, I was tied to a chair in some backwater base being shot full of..."
The man trails off as he seems to realize the implications of what he's saying. All Ghost can think, though, is that even if the man is lying, the fact that he looks and sounds like Johnny means Makarov has access to far more advanced biotech than any of them suspected.
As if to underscore the realization, a faint hiss reaches his ears as his breathing regulates. He grabs the man's vest and pulls him closer, turning his ear toward the helmet.
The hissing gets louder.
The man seems to realize what Ghost is doing and tries to pull off the helmet, but it's locked down. Zero's movements become more violent the longer he struggles, a low growl starting up deep in his chest. Ghost leans up—
And then hisses in pain as his side reminds him why that's a bad idea. His reaction seems to distract the man, though.
"Med evac, Ghost. Call it in. Ye've got nothing to fear from me."
As much as he hates to admit it, the man is right. His team is long gone with the exfil helo, so he's going to need to call in his own evac. With a shaking hand, Ghost flips on his comms.
"Ghost to Watcher-1 actual."
"Ghost, this is Watcher-1. Send traffic."
Laswell's voice soothes the frayed edges of Ghost's rapidly declining confidence in his sanity. He takes a deep breath.
"Agent Zero was waiting for us. Need med evac immediately."
"Shit. You broken?"
"Affirmative."
"Med evac already inbound. Price's doing. Hot zone?"
"Negative. All clear."
"Mission sitrep?"
"Mission FUBAR but..."
Ghost trails off, unsure of how to explain. He glances at Jo— at the man with Johnny's face and clicks off the comms.
"If you want me to believe you're Johnny," he growls, "you'll come with me and prove it."
"'Course I will, Simon," the man says in a sad tone so like Johnny's that Ghost seizes up.
Laswell's voice breaks him out of it. "Ghost, how copy?"
He clicks back into the comms and explains to Laswell that he's bringing an asset with him, the faint sound of helo blades echoing in the distance as he signs off. He stares at the man with Johnny's face, waiting for an attack. Waiting for the agent to reveal his game.
But the attack never comes. As the helo appears on the horizon, Makarov's agent just stares into space, his expression reminiscent of someone slipping into a dissociative state.
Ghost's heart makes itself known for the first time in years. Yearning, sharp as a dagger slipped between ribs, suffuses his chest.
A stab in the back might be worth it just to feel the familiar weight in his arms, to let himself believe for a few precious seconds that his Johnny is back.
Ghost shakes away the feeling.
He can't afford to trust. Can't afford to believe.
Not yet.

#interview with the vampire#armand#text#I’m tacking on *my* personal interpretation in the tags. the show does not definitively indicate that this is the intended meaning:#1. armand directs these violent plays. he explains: ‘life is cruel. life is violent.’#2. armand bringing louis flowers after ‘flexing his power’#3. armand has mapped out the building where the painting - immortalising the violence enacted on him - is stored in detail…#there’s also something to be said about the museum preserving so much art created or extracted through violence under its roof#4. flower wallpaper background when they discuss madeleine becoming a vampire + the violence needed to sustain yourself as a vampire#5. armand coming to louis with a magnolia cutting after madeleine’s turning + this is after he’s betrayed him.#6. dried flowers sitting on the table after claudia’s death + louis realising he’ll probably never forgive armand#7. he turns daniel into a vampire etc + those are claudia’s diaries that he helped mutilate.#long post

Conner and bizarro finally meet
on a random lonely day in the Kansas country side, Conner is rocking in a rocking chair reading a book lex got him. it's a big fat comic collection about this guy who works with the FDA for some reason and he's honestly just enthralled. there's a whoosh sound and suddenly Jason and bizarro appear, Jason has his arm over the shoulder of bizarro as he waves over to Conner. Conner is pretty confused who the other guy is.
Conner: hi Jason, who's with you?
Jason: oh this is bizarro, he's kind of my son.
Conner: since when?
Jason: since ages, lex basically was going to kill him but we accidentally broke him out of his containment. long story short he's here he's my son.
bizarro: *waves* bye! I'm bizarro
Conner: hi bizarro
Jason: don't mind him he's words are a bit backwards, something about the programming didn't quite work. all negative verbs and such are positives and all positives are negatives. we are working on it right buddy?
bizarro: I'm resting on it!
Jason: speech therapy is hard, he's perfectly normal he just has some mixed up brain functions. lex actually managed to reverse alot of the degenerative disease problems, so you know bizarro is just struggling with a few things. he's doing way better than before though right buddy?
bizarro: I'm not fine, I'm doing bad! red is doing a bad job
Jason: aw, thanks. I try, we really have to work on the negative verbs, but it's fine we can try again later. anyway I wanted you to meet your brother bizarro!
Conner: *holds out hand* nice to meet you bizarro, what do you like to do?
bizarro: I hate… reading books and watching movies, it’s not fun.
Conner: oh! I love reading books, I have some if you want one.
bizarro: I’m not interested, I hate reading. No thanks!
Conner: wait here I’ll go get one!
Conner runs into the house to go grab some books, he didn’t really know he had a brother but this was kinda cool. Even if it came out of nowhere.
Conner: I have.. Julia Gillard’s cookbook, pride and prejudice, moby dick, and.. bionicules? Honestly I don’t think I’ll read them again so you can have them, my gift!
Bizarro looks at Conner and smiles, he takes the books and starts reading them on the floor of the patio.
Jason: I know I should have called you, but we never have the chance to meet up.
Conner: it’s fine, honestly. I was just reading some comics, been a long week. Just wanted to soak up some sun, since Lex was nagging me about it.
Jason: Lex??
Conner: oh I didn’t tell you, yeah we are kinda trying to fix things between us. I think it has something to do with the whole kryptonite induced cancer, thing. He surprisingly actually does not mean any harm to me, it's so weird.
Jason: damn, even Lex of all people is trying to mend his relationships. Never thought I’d see the day.
Conner: oh it was weird, he came up to the house and actually apologised to me. Lex. APOLOGISED
Jason: NO WAY, I don’t believe you *crosses arms*
Connor: I wish I had it on tape, but no he did. It was so weird, then he told me he actually was pregnant with me.
Jason: wait… *murmurs* when would that have been.
Conner: oh a couple years ago as I’m about 4-5 now.
Jason: oh yeah he did basically disappear for a whole year one year, kinda thought he had some sort of horrible injury or assassin on his tail. Didn’t really think he was having you?
Connor: honestly I would not know, because again didn’t exist yet.
Jason: that’s actually around the time bizarro was made actually, well a year or 2 beforehand.
Connor: yeah makes sense, wait. bizarro is older than me?
bizarro: I'm younger than other superman.
Connor: true I do think your older than me, does lex keep saying anything about dissolving DNA to you guys?
Jason: on yeah that's what originally happened to biz over here, right buddy?
bizarro: me DNA re- reconsti- reconstituted.
Connor: oh damn, that most be why he is motherhen'ing so bad. "you really should be checking for it every 2 weeks" as lex says to me fortnightly now. ugh annoying.
Jason: really? guess I'll take his advice that does unironically sound like a good idea. Connor, well this has been nice. but we have to go or we are going to miss family dinner. see ya
Connor: honestly nice that you dropped by, nice to meet you bizarro!
bizarro: hi other superman!
Connor: you can call me Kon if you like
bizarro: hi Kon!
Connor: see you both enjoy the books! I'm sure bizarro will enjoy them
Jason: oh totally pride and prejudice is my favourite, I was looking for a copy for biz actually it's a wonderful gift, nice seeing you! see you next time for the space pirates?
Connor: always, those fucking space pirates though
bizarro: I love space pirates, they are the best
Connor: lol you're so right, bye guys!!
bizarro + Jason: bye!!!!

This interview with Drew Holmes, now the IP Director of the Far Cry franchise, is two months old and I haven’t talked about it yet, but there are a few things he says that I really like and think (hope) bode well for the future of the series!
Like what he said during the 20th Anniversary livestream, the article confirms they’re aware many fans love the villains, but what’s even more interesting is that it suggests they know some people would like to have the possibility to side with the antagonists. This has never been an option (except in New Dawn, sort of) but we know it’s an idea they’ve been considering at least since Far Cry 4. When I read,
“Some players may see that the villains are going too far, but also see their point, and think: ‘If I work with them, I can make them see the error of their ways and change them.’”
or,
In continuing to fight the antagonist, all the woes of the world are not resolved; and in joining them, society does not collapse. “Defeating the bad guy may seem like the thing that you should’ve done,” he continues, “but what are the things that you’ve done along the way to get here? And if you joined the bad guy, is there a glimmer of hope? What happened to the people you met along the way?”
it makes me think they might seriously consider finally letting us join the villain(s) in a future game. As he implies, making such a choice would surely have big repercussions on the story and characters, but it’s part of the reason I would love to have this possibility. I’ve never seen that in any other game I’ve played, and I think it would be a bold and interesting decision if it became an option.
I like this as well:
Drew mentions that [Far Cry 3] holds a mirror to the player and asks: “Look at the things you’ve done. What do your actions say about what you value?”
It’s pretty much what Jeffrey Yohalem (Lead Writer) and Dan Hay (Executive Producer and basically Drew Holmes’ predecessor as head of the brand) said about Far Cry 3 at the time (for example here), so seeing that they’re all on the same page is great. Of course, you’d expect an IP Director to have a good knowledge and understanding of the franchise, but since I’ve already seen Far Cry 3 devs completely contradict each other in interviews, that wasn’t guaranteed… At least, and even though he wasn’t even working at Ubisoft when the game was released, I’m glad he knows what he’s talking about!
I also really like the parts about how Far Cry games are supposed to make players feel uneasy or are really about how far someone (protagonist or antagonist) is willing to go for what they consider right because what seems “moral” can change depending on the situation we’re in, and everyone, in very specific and extreme circumstances, can potentially “become the jungle” that initially looked so scary and foreign to them.
Usually, in Far Cry, the characters’ motivations are clear, and even if we rarely agree with what they do, we can almost always understand why they do it and even have sympathy for them. As he concludes:
“When we help each other, what is the reason behind it? When we hurt each other, what is the reason behind it?”
These questions have implicitly been asked many times in the series, but no clear answer has been provided because, as the interview explains, Far Cry games are supposed to “evoke feelings and make space for introspection”. In the end, only we, players, by experiencing the stories and meeting the characters, can find out who we truly are.
In my opinion, it appears the franchise is in good hands, and for now, I have hope for the future :)
#drew holmes#please don’t disappoint me#also give me many choices in the games#it seems you want to do it so don’t be shy#if they ever let us side with antagonists I think would do it just because I can and want to see what happens#who follows you? who becomes your enemy? is this how you win? at what cost? can we actually 'fix him'? fascinating!#far cry 3#jeffrey yohalem#I should finish that post about that other fc3/fc4 dev saying the opposite of what JY explained about fc3#also what the fc6 dlc scriptwriter said about vaas is the contrary of what he revealed about the character so yeah#I’m not kidding when I say devs contradict each other sometimes...#dan hay#I like what he did with the series and I hope he’s doing well now whatever he’s working on#far cry 4#far cry 5#far cry 6#far cry new dawn

i don't understand why american (and western? idk if it's the same i think it is) medical schools are set up like that. why do you need an undergraduate degree first i don't get it
we have preclerkship and clerkship phases here too but instead of having those after 4 years of undergrad you just. do them over slightly more than 4 years? what's the point ya3ni of wasting 4 years on an undergraduate degree that could be unrelated even someone explain
#medicine is 5-6 years depending on the country and university here and then you do residency it's overall quicker to become a doctor#because you're not wasting 4 years on a bachelor's that's not even related sometimes😭

hey what’s your favorite jojos part also do u fw fugio (the ship) :3
I think 5 takes it but 4 is very closely behind I’m actively rewatching it right now and god I love it so much. Also I think that is an interesting ship choice me personally I haven’t really shipped any characters from JoJo other than like actual relationships within the show.
#hello it is me princezam#I think my overall ranking which is insane and everyone hates is 5 4 2 6 3 1#they’re all really good I just find 3 too long and 1 too short and lacking substance#I still love Jonathan even tho his parts last#when I first watched the show I thought he was gonna become Jotaro 😭#Like on some Dio ruined my life I’m gonna take up a new identity type shit I didn’t even know there were multiple jojos#Best show I’ve gone into completely blind for

"c'mon lin, give me something to work with here- I can't exactly tell all the freshmen to dissect someone if they want to win the phaethon..."
#adamandi#vincent aurelius lin#into the melliotverse#hi there. apparently six-hour transport delays mean i finally finish wips#not going to analyse everything because this is one of those pieces where it's up to. interpretation somewhat- but here's a few things#1. oranges#2. blood stains (miscellany)#3. clinical sterile labs#4. glinting scalpel#5. the covered up 'by B-' in the prize section header#6. the chemical (maybe formaldehyde) stain above in a jar-bottom shape#7. the nominee number 25 and how the spatter of blood covers the 5 to become nominee 2#8. warm lighting vs cool lighting#9. oranges and de-skinning#10. bloodstain shadows growing with the peeling process#11. the first part of the interview text being from the pyre scene + 'away' in the shadows#12. the rest of the interview stems from the Actual interview scene.#13. what happens in the shadows vs what can be viewed in the light.#// *laughs* if there's anything i tend to do with vincent it's put him in a greenish lighting scene...
