It’s day 25 of the #mayformakers2022 challenge and todays spotlight is on “5 years from now” I hugged my boys a little tighter today, made sure they know I love them. Because You never know. Unless You’re a Soldier on the field or Law Enforcement, you never anticipate that one day may very well be your last. But it happens. Just like that. From Churches, Concerts, Christmas Parades, Schools, Subways, or just walking down the block of your own neighborhood. Just like that. 5 years from now

I think the answers you get from someone to the question, "where do you see yourself in 5 years?" Say a lot about that person. If they have goals that's great. If they have realistic goals that's better. If they are actually actively pursuing them, that's the best. Yes, no one can foresee the future, but that can't stop you from setting a path to success now. I know of so many people who haven't a clue or direction on where they want to go in life and it drives me insane. There are so many people pissing away opportunities. So many people settling. So many people not pushing themselves to their capacity. Maybe my natural ambition and drive makes me not understand. In five years I hope to own my own house (with spectacular man cave/garage/gym), obtain my masters, promote to higher management, ensure my babe of her passion of a career, own more dogs, own less cats, ensure Squish is happy and healthy, travel the world, maintain a healthy lifestyle, make friends with similar interests and ambitions, figure out a way to start a small side business, and be the happiest married couple ever.

Dear future me,

Hello there! So how’s life? Have you started working for Mental Health yet? I really hope so. How is dad? Uncle Steve, Aunt Mary, Jacqueline, Peter, Tiffany, Victor and Ryan? Danielle and John and the kids? Bailey would be 13! Holy carp she’s a teenager. I really hope she’s doing well. Megan would be 11. Wow time sure does fly. Can I give you a bit of advice? Love on them every chance that you get. I mean it. You have no idea when you’re going to loose them. Hopefully you haven’t lost any of them yet.

Did you move to Salt Lake? I really hope that you moved to Salt Lake because I know how much you wanted to. Are you still a member of the Church? What are your callings now? Did you find your eternal companion yet?! I really hope that you fell in love I really hope that maybe it was Curtis… Then again maybe not… That’s ok too.

I hope you have embraced more acting opportunities, because I know how happy acting makes you. Are you on the West End? Are you on Broadway? I really hope so! How are all of your acting friends? How’s Michael, Laura and Sara? Are you still in contact with them? I really hope that they’re doing okay and have made good lives for themselves. What about Kayla, Eric, Jessica, Angel and everyone on the line? I really hope that everybody is doing fine and that they are happy.

Do you have any kids?! I know that you’ve always dreamed about being a mother, so I really hope that you do have kids by now… Wait a minute this is only five years that would be crazy!

Anyway the bottom line is is that I hope you’re happy I love you so much always remember that.

Chase your dreams, be free, be yourself but the most importantly be happy.
