THE DESCRIPTION OF SAINT LOUIS IX OF FRANCE Feast Day: August 25

Louis IX, who ruled France from 1226 to 1270, the most illustrious of the Direct Capetians, known as Louis the Saint and the only canonized king of France, was born in Poissy, near Paris, on April 25, 1214. His mother, Blanche of Castile, trained him to be a great leader and a good Christian.

She used to say: 'I love you my dear son, as much as a mother can love her child; but I would rather see you dead at my feet than that you should ever commit a mortal sin.'

During Louis' childhood, Blanche dealt with the opposition of rebellious vassals and secured Capetian success in the Albigensian Crusade, which had started 20 years earlier.

Made king of France when he was only 12 years old after the death of his father, Louis VIII (Louis the Lion), he revealed exceptional human and administrative qualities. Everything he did was for the glory of God and for the good of his people. On May 27, 1234, at 19, he married Margaret of Provence, who gave him eleven children.

He protected the poor, forbade usury, and was never heard to speak ill of anyone. He excelled in penance and had a great love for the Church. Louis was merciful even to rebels.

When he was urged to put to death a prince who had followed his father in rebellion, he refused saying: 'A son cannot refuse to obey his father.'

Louis used these anti-usery laws to extract funds from Jewish and Lombard moneylenders, with the hopes that it would help pay for a future crusade. Louis also oversaw the Disputation of Paris in 1240, in which Paris's Jewish leaders were imprisoned and forced to admit to 'anti-christian' passages in the Talmud, the major source of Jewish commentaries on the Bible and religious law.

In 1250, he headed a crusade into Egypt, but was taken prisoner. During his captivity, he recited the Divine Office every day. After his release against ransom, he visited the Holy Land before returning to France. In these deeds, Louis IX tried to fulfill what he considered the duty of France as 'the eldest daughter of the Church' (la fille aînée de l'Église), a tradition of protector of the Church going back to the Franks and Charlemagne, who had been crowned by Pope Leo III in Rome in 800. The kings of France were known in the Church by the title 'most Christian king' (Rex Christianissimus).

Louis embarked on another crusade, but got sick and died near Carthage in an epidemic of dysentery that swept through his army. Louis was 56 when he died in 1270.

In his spiritual testament, he wrote: 'My dearest son, you should permit yourself to be tormented by every kind of martyrdom before you would allow yourself to commit a mortal sin.'

He is honored as co-patron of the Third Order of St. Francis, which claims him as a member of the Order. When he became king, over a hundred poor people were served meals in his house on ordinary days. Often the king served these guests himself. His acts of charity, coupled with his devout religious practices, gave rise to the legend that he joined the Third Order of St. Francis, though it is unlikely that he ever actually joined the order.

6- i explored other fandoms and came back, the anxceit brainrot never truly leaves, i have been busy with life though, going through changes so i don't have a lot of free time to write, also realized a lot of stuff about myself, and that was kinda fun.. 

7- weirdly enough the lazy town fandom helped me with my mental health a bit, finished hannable, it wasn't bad but i do feel like it's haunting me like a wierd annoying ghost (i didn't get into the fandom though, i only read like half a fic and my brain got sick of the characters) -⭐

oh i hear lazytown fandom is really fun! i love cannibalism so i'd love to try hannible sometime. but i'm not sure i'll get into the fandom. i struggle more with getting into fandoms than actually watching the media, and trying new stories is already really hard for me lmao but i hope it's at least fun! That reminds me of an idea where the souls have actually been stuck for a few weeks- 1-2 years and are coworkers who keep noticing each other disappearing. So I wrote this!

INPUT PASSWORD

"Oh, of course it requires a password-!" Jax has always been violent, but Pomni has never seen him smack the console with so much anger. "Stupid thing!"

"Don't hit it!" Ragatha yells. She's pressed right next to Pomni, who's between Zooble and Gangle, all four of them pressed fiercely against the door. Kinger is vibrating next to Jax, having not said a word since the fire-covered monster came into view. "That never works!"

"Oh, then I suppose you know the password?!"

Things have been going wrong.

Enough that Caine had broken the image of a cheerful ringmaster, enough that he had to beg them to go into the circus's code to fix it. Something is broken inside here. It may offer you a way out now that we know that the circus has always been broken, he had said, his voice eerily robotic.

Except the code had been weird- Pomni had to resist screaming several times as the memories of a labyrinth made of an office space and the white of the void assaulted her mind- and then the fire monster had shown up.

And now all that's between them, and it is this metal door.

The space looks like a security office. The panels that would show the camera feeds are dark. The only thing that says that they were still in the circus was the glowing cube that is demanding a password, a keyboard winking at them.

This feels familiar.

"Oh, I don't know!" Ragatha glances at her and Pomni manages a nod, allowing the rag doll pull away to march up. "I...uh..." She reaches over and types in 1234.

"That's not enough." There are six spaces.

"I KNOW!" Ragatha adds 56 and presses enter. There is an omnious beep. "F-" The rest of the word is honked out as she types in PASSWOR and tries it. There's another ominous beep.

654321.

Beep.

"Any ideas?!"

"Here!" Jax shoves Ragatha away.

CIRCUS.

Beep.

"Oh...ugh...CAINE!" There's one last space.

CCAINE.

Beep.

CAINEC.

Beep- BANG!

"We don't have time for you to try every password!" Zooble snarls as the fire monster slams against the door again. “Someone has to know the password!”

“WE DON’T!” Gangle wails with Jax and Ragatha’s yell.

“TRY TO THINK!”

Pomni squeezes her eyes tight. Jax and Ragatha are yelling at each other, Gangle is holding her more than bracing the door, Kinger is vibrating…It’s all noise. But darkness surrounds her.

The password. What password would be attached to this insane place?

…why was she a jester?

Was this an important question now? They were going to die, or at least close to dying that could happen in the circus. But something was nudging her, blaring that question. Pomni took a deep breath and focused

The “new body” depended on the person and their memories. Barely anyone could remember their past lives. But there was always one strong memory of liking something. Ragatha had the memory of her favorite childhood doll, a Raggedy Ann. Jax loved rabbits. Gangle had been a theater kid. Zooble’s home had been decorated in abstract art. Kinger and his wife, Queener, had met over chess.

What did Pomni remember?

They always did something unexpected. I mean, you would expect them to make people laugh, and they did, but it was always clever…

“Jester.” she whispers.

“What?”

“Move.” Pomni pulls away, yanks Jax back. She isn’t sure what fuels her- maybe it’s fear for her life, maybe it’s anger for poor lost-looking Caine…

Maybe it’s determination that makes her type in J3ST3R.

No beep. The screen falls away.

“Welcome, head programmer,�� a male voice says. It sounds like Caine, but more robotic and flat. The screen spreads and…

That’s her.

Pomni almost can’t look away from the image. Under head of team, there’s Penny Caine. Her own face- blue eyes framed by brown hair with a nervous smile- stares at her. Then Kinger makes a choked noise and Pomni-Penny looks across the screen.

…it’s them.

Digital Circus Theory

The crew are all programmers who created Caine/the circus, but in particular Pomni’s head programmer. The other’s are her subordinates and she’s the last one to arrive in the circus because she ordered everyone sent ahead of herself to investigate/fix it until she was the only one left.

sry if the sentences doesn't make much sense i'm writing this while im walking so i didn't checked the sentences very carefully

i think the numbers had definitely played part of developing their identities

like luther living his whole life with the responsibility for being a number one

or diego having the complex as 'not being good enough' or being second place and so on

and i think they also had specific expectations or a picture for each number in their mind

but the problem was that those pictures were different for each charater, which is in fact really normal, but they somehow didn't really thought of that so it happend for example for luther to say to klaus that he would rather be a number four which kinda hurted klaus.

anyways, i think it's kinda funny to do character studys about their numbers since this is a really unique thing for a character to have as a name. or just including this numbers in a study is pretty nice i think? i wrote a couple months ago about ben and five being a connection between the other siblings and vanya based on how they talked to/about each other and the way they used to sit as a child at the table. but after i posted it i realized that also the numbers are 1234, 56, and 7 which is actually kinda interesting

one last thing i want to add is about five who has the actual number 5 as his name. i think the number 5 itself doesn't mean that much to him like the numbers 1 does to luther or 7 to vanya. the important par tfor him is the fact that he has a "number" as a name. like i wrote in the upper paragraph, it's a very unique thing so i thought that his name itself made five thinking he belonged to the academy... it's just a theory but also interesting tho
