Personal topics like my own intimate life, my own personal information (IRL name, names of family members, etc)

While I am happy to talk and give advice about LGBTQIA+ issues, I am uncomfortable sharing my opinion on issues that I am still working to learn about, because I don't want to spread false information or be unintentionally hurtful. Also, since I hold a lot of privilege, there are certain topics that I would rather amplify the voices of others about, rather than taking up my own space.

Writing Tips:

Write a lot.

Don't worry about mistakes or editing. Just write a lot to get your ideas out. Practice makes better, and writing a lot will help you gain confidence. You don't have to post it anywhere of you don't want to!

2. Try microfics!

Microfics are a great way to practice writing certain ships, or just practice in general. They're also lovely for getting a feel of posting! They're low-pressure and low-commitment, which is lovely!

3. Find people to write with.

Whether it's people online or in person, find people to talk about writing and write with. It's very motivating and helps hold you accountable.

4. Be gentle with yourself!

This is supposed to be fun. Don't beat yourself up or be too hard on yourself.

5. Write down your ideas.

Ideas come at weird times. Write them down, because you'll forget them.

Songs that Remind me of Jikook Part 1

While we wait impatiently for the Jikook travel show, I thought it might be fun to share song recs that remind us of Jikook beyond the classics: There For You, all the other GCF songs, Own It, Body Electric, Serendipity, Magic Shop, Still With You, ect. You can use these songs to add to your playlist or when you listen to them, you can think of Jikook too! I have three recommendations in this post.

1. Agora Hills by Doja Cat.

I know Doja is controversial and so is her partner BUT this song bangs y’all. The beat is nasty and the lyrics are so so Jikook coded (to me). Screen shot of one of the most Jikook-esque parts of the song but honestly the verses fit so well too. We know how much Jungkook and Jimin love to brag on each other and gush over each other. And sometimes they even get a little wild *cough Rosebowl and hickey gate and footsies*

2. Call it What You Want by Taylor Swift

This song is the only one in Taylor’s discography that is extremely Jikook coded to me. I screenshotted my favorite part but again, the whole song screams Jikook to me. The “trust him like a brother” lyric feels like a dig to anyone who screams that Jikook are brothers as a form of coping with the fact that they definitely aren’t. And I love the whole concept of Call It What You Want being about speculation about a romantic relationship and the two lovers don’t care you can call their bond whatever you want but they will still love and support each other. If that’s not Jikook idk what is.

3. Coma by Caroline Polachek

Okay, hear me out with this one because if you haven’t heard of Caroline Polachek (she’s the least mainstream on this list) then I promise you are missing out. Caroline is amazing. Shes definitely experimental, so if that isn’t your thing then you probably won’t like this gorgeous 5 minute song, but I’m obsessed with it. Her voice is so ethereal, the instrumental is busy but addicting and the lyrics are simple but effective as hell. Overall, the song gives a wholesome lovey dovey vibe that truly feels like you are floating. It reminds me of Jikook because when I listen to this I imagine this is how they feel being with each other for so many years and truly “I am you, you are me”. If you give this one a chance and love it, let me know. I stan Caroline so hard and think everyone should experience her genius. Her whole album Desire, I Want To Turn Into You top to bottom is an art pop masterpiece.

Hello, internet! I like showing up periodically and asking for music recs on wildly specific themes or with specific sound profiles/music theory specifications. And today I have one of each!

a. What I am calling "I support women's wrongs" music. This is "A Little Wicked" by Valerie Broussard, "Good in Red" by The Midnight, "Blank Space" or "Anti-Hero" by Taylor Swift, things like that. (I've also got some songs about women being queens/witches/things like that on this list, for fantasy flavoring, but I am trying to focus on Dangerous Woman Songs.)

b. Songs in 5/4! One of my favorite time signatures and vastly underused, and I am specifically looking for songs that are all or nearly all in 5/4, not just in it for a bridge or something. (As it stands, aside from the obvious of "Take 5," I've got: "From Eden" by Hozier, "Sensitivity" from Once Upon a Mattress, "Tongue-Tied" by Emily Portman, and "Turn the World Around" by Harry Belafonte.)
