When my confidence is high, I think I’m a fairly decent writer (mostly, maybe lol). But for the life of me, I seem incapable of writing angst when it comes to ZoLu. Just can’t do it. It turns into humor instead.

Not to say there’s no angst potential between them. When done right, it’s fantastic. And I’m so envious of those writers who can nail the angst and still keep their personalities intact.

To me, when Zoro and Luffy are together, they’re just so in sync to the point of being able to communicate without words. There’s no need for misunderstandings or mistrust. There’s definitely no possibility for betrayal. They don’t even disagree anymore post-timeskip. Even when Zoro yelled at Luffy on Punk Hazard, Luffy simply acquiesced.

So this leaves either illness/death for angst scenarios, or AU. The former is not something I like to focus on, which leaves AU for me if I want to tackle ZoLu angst. I’ve tried my hand at it with a 40-yo ZoLu one-shot and it went okay, I think? I just don’t think I’m very good at writing about it overall.

Zoro and Luffy make me happy lol. They’re gonna remain my comfort pairing and sunshine couple. Infinite kudos to those writers who can do their angst justice!

So i am thinking about it, looking at the golden age of piracy and the supernova trio

The Republic was founded by three pirates who were tired of kings after the Succession War and were unemployed.

Now I can see Kidd, Law and Luffy doing the same thing

Luffy is not going to stay still long enough to manage it, and Law is also prone to wandering. He will get restless even if it takes longer then it does for Luffy

He strikes me as the kind of guy that can sit behind the desk that might be just a makeshift work desk but he is going to get the job done. He also has Killer and sometimes The Hearts & Strawhats help sometimes when they are around but their Captains are out there messing around lol

It's just funny to imagine an older Kidd, in his 40's once a Privateer for the crown as a younger man, (lasted for 2.5 seconds because he turned to piracy xd), now stuck behind a desk with those little glasses as his vision is shit, holding on to a stack of papers that looks tiny in his hands, talking about their take and expenses for the month

Sometimes Law sits on the desk next to him to discuss what they need and where they should go next. They sometimes forget about business and just make a day of it, dragging Kidd of the island as Killer kicks him out as he was getting stressed xd

Sometimes it's Luffy there talking about how he started a war with some smaller nation island or pirate crew, before turning them to his side

If he comes back before being able to finish a fight. They all set out. Nobody wants to see the trio on the seas at the same time. Thats when you know to fucking hide yo everything xd

i know it’s popular for people to draw 40+yo luffy as Tall bc he hit a growth spurt at some point and dragon’s genes finally kicked in, but i really love the idea of luffy just…staying as he is. in my heart he’s shorter than nami. pov you meet straw hat luffy, king of the pirates, and he’s— he’s a lot shorter, actually, than what you expected. he’s buff, but he’s not, like, shredded. he’s more on the wiry side. the scruff and the state of his hair and clothes makes it seem like he should probably be hungover on a beach somewhere, but then you look at him for real and you see the all-consuming fire in his eyes and hear the drumbeat in his laughter and okay, yeah, on second thought, this guy for sure has something deeply wrong with him and is definitely unhinged enough to have become an emperor before he hit twenty, and you’re suddenly not entirely sure that you’re outside the blast radius of whatever he decides to do next.

So I'm gonna jump in with my headcanon. It's very similar to this.

Shakky told Luffy that his grandpa used to "hunt her" 40 years ago. Which is 42 years ago from the present storyline. It was recently confirmed that Shakky is a former Empress of Amazon Lily. We also know that all women from Amazon Lily give birth to girls.

Well, Mihawk is 43 yo. So my HC is that Shakky gave birth to a boy, something unprecedented, and decided not to go back to her island, but to go to the Sabaody Archipelago to be able to raise her son. Mihawk shares some physical traits with Shakky, and seems to be a wine expert, which makes sense if he was raised at a bar.

Maybe the rivalry with Shanks started because of jealousy? Rayleigh, his dad, spent more time on the sea raising Shanks and Buggy than his own son, so when they finally met there were probably some grudges there. It would also make them kinda half-step-brothers(??), and now that Mihawk is Buggy's "subordinate", it would make their dynamic a lot funnier.

I think Hancock is Shakky's niece. My HC is that the former Empress who died of the love sickness was her sister and Hancock, Marigold and Sandersonia's mom. Because Shakky had been living in Sabaody for a few years, she didn't know her nieces had been enslaved. So when Gloriosa brought the girls to Sabaody Archipelago, of course she and Rayleigh did everything they could to help them. That's why Hancock seems so comfortable around Rayleigh. He's an exception among the other men, because he's her uncle and father figure.

Now about Mihawk and Hancock, I can also imagine then bickering. Mihawk goes to visit his parents, Hancock sees him and is immediately rude, and he's like "who's this sassy lost child?". Maybe he could have helped the girls train their haki, idk. Hancock kinda respects him, or at least tolerates him. A beloathed cousin. It would be funny if in the Shichibukai meetings they actually teamed up and sat next to each other to gossip about the other warlords, because they know they are the baddest bitches there.

PS.: I've checked and Mihawk's blood type is S, Shakky's is X, and Rayleigh's is XF. In real world terms, S is type O, X is type A, F is type B, and XF is type AB. So technically Mihawk can't be Rayleigh's biological kid. I mean, he could be Shakky's kid from another guy, and the headcanon works perfectly fine. They are not married and seem to have a pretty open relationship.

I’ve been seeing a lot of theories on both Hancock and Mihawk being the biological kids of Rayleigh and Shakky and I want to subscribe to both of those at once because you know those two would be the bitchiest siblings. Absolutely insufferable to be around as all they do is make snide comments about each other’s styles and how they’re clearly the more successful child.

Hey yo, so despite the bad news coming this week, last week was a fucking blast and here's most of the good that happened:

I came back home, obviously, to my boyfriend and my cat. I was so happy.

1.do you prefer to shower when you wake up or before you go to sleep?. Can I have both? I like to shower in the morning because I can clean off any  sweat I may have produced when I slept and it also helps me start my day. Before bed helps me unwind and clean off the germs of the day… but I may sweat in the middle of the night… hmmmmm I guess morning showers LOL 

2. does it bother you to sleep with the lights on. Yes, I really cant sleep with any type of light in the room. I always find myself waking up if I see light.

3. cigarettes, marijuana, or neither? Neither fam.  

4. beer, liquor, or neither? Liquor, I hate the taste of beer 5. what is the biggest impact you hope to make throughout your lifetime?  Probably being able to help someone with their journey get through the darkness of mental diseases. This is a part of the reason why i want to go into the field of psychiatry.  

6. what’s your favourite movie genres.  Uhhh, romantic comedies, animation, horror, fantasy, and anime (if that’s a thing) 7. puns or dirty jokes? Dirty jokes boiiiii. Luffy from one piece. Hes always carefree, does what he wants, eats all day, goes on these dope adventures with his crew and will beat someone’s ass if they step to him wrong. I wouldn’t mind living a life like that for a day or two. Although Zoro is my favorite character I prefer luffys lifestyle a little more.

11. what are you wearing? A grey shirt and blue joggers? WHY YOU NEED TO KNOW HUH? 12. what is your earliest memory?. Crawling on my mom’s bed and she picking me up with a big smile while making  some kind of going up sound. I know I was a baby because even to this day she does that when she plays with other small children.   13. moon or stars? Stars because I like to lay down and count them. Also having sex under the stars is on my bucket list LOLOL 14. sunrise or sunset?. Sunrise.  I love the crisp air and quiet atmosphere of everything being asleep.  During times like that it feels the world is at a stand-still and I can take a second and breathe maybe even go for a jog. Nah but for a material gift, I hate to say this but, probably a hand written piece of poetry my ex gave me. It a cheesy love poem that made my heart flutter at time. no one has ever done something that for me before so it was something special.  I haven’t looked at it in years and don’t plan on doing it any time soon. That bridge was burned  many years ago cuz fuck my ex lmaooo 

16. what’s your favourite scent? Vanilla or lavender. I use to use candles with those scents as a way to calm myself during a time of depression. In a sense, I associate them both with calmness 17. what do you think about when you need to be in a calm state of mind?  Thinking of myself as a flowing river. This concept came to me after witnessing a small stream on street carry away a twig during the rain. The way I saw it was that twig representing a problem of any sort and the water being my conscious. Basically my conscious developed the habit of analyzing the given problem and determines if it needs to be addressed now, later, or not even be addressed at all. It’s a way I practice mindfulness lol 18. what do you think about when you need motivation? “I know I can fucking do this, so let me stop being a bum and do it” sounds a little harsh but that’s how I get myself moving lmaoo

Cuando escucho la palabra manga o anime en mi cabeza se produce una danza neuronal donde brillan con luz propia dos sagas que me vienen acompañando desde mi adolescencia y que aún hoy día siguen ofreciéndome grandes dosis de diversión y aventuras. Una de ellas es Naruto Shippuden, la otra One Piece. La creación de Eiichiro Oda, con más de 20 años a sus espaldas, ha cosechado un éxito sin precedentes, convirtiéndose en una obra internacional e intergeneracional de la que el mundo de los videojuegos no podía hacer oídos sordos. Son multitud de títulos los que la serie atesora a sus espaldas, pero la trilogía Pirate Warriors, que precisamente cierra One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 (Deluxe Edition en Nintendo Switch), es la que mejor ha sabido tomarle el pulso a la saga bajo el timón del ya habitual tándem Koei Tecmo – Omega Force y los cañones por banda de Bandai Namco.

  A pesar de ser el tercero de la serie, estamos ante el título más accesible de la trilogía. Si la primera entrega mezclaba acción con momentos plataformeros, esta tercera entrega sigue la senda de su predecesora, combinando el género musou con el carisma y la personalidad que solo One Piece es capaz de ofrecer. Podemos adelantar, antes de entrar de lleno con el análisis, que One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition (me mareo solo de pronunciar tan vertiginoso e inagotable título) es, con diferencia, el título más completo de la saga.

      ¡El One Piece Existe!

Gol D. Roger, Rey de los Piratas, escondió poco antes de morir el tesoro de toda una vida de saqueos. Dicho tesoro, conocido como “One Piece”, ha hecho que todo el mundo decida lanzarse al Grand Line en busca de tan ansiado botín. La Gran Era Pirata ha comenzado. One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition nos cuenta la historia casi paso a paso y por episodios de su protagonista, Monkey D. Luffy. Un joven, cuyo cuerpo está hecho de goma, que se echa a la mar en una pequeña barca con la determinación de buscar una tripulación con la que encontrar el One Piece y convertirse en el Rey de los piratas.

  ¡Un musou de una pieza!

Uno de los pilares sobre los que se sustenta el género musou es su amplio plantel jugable. Omega Force, compañía especializada en este género, lo sabe bien. Por ello con este título han conseguido el mayor elenco de personajes jugables visto en ningún juego de la serie. Más aún si tenemos en cuenta que muchos de ellos se presentan en dos versiones y que todos cuentan con comportamientos y ataques bien diferenciados. Esto, que puede parecer apabullante en un principio, hace que cada jugador pueda encontrar con relativa facilidad el personaje con el que desenvolverse con mayor soltura en el campo de batalla.

  Todo lo que representa el musou está aquí perfectamente plasmado. Desde unos objetivos vivos y en continuo cambio, pasando por momentos estresantes en los que casi necesitamos partirnos en dos para cubrir múltiples frentes, hasta las capturas de bases o unos extensos niveles que tenemos que patear de arriba a abajo si queremos completar todos los objetivos. Centrándonos en su oferta jugable, además de la búsqueda principal, contamos con el modo Diario de Sueños, donde el mar es nuestro inmenso tablero, y nos vamos enfrentando a los personajes más icónicos de la saga a través de niveles situados en las distintas islas del mencionado tablero. Al final de cada zona nos batimos en duelo con distintos jefes que no nos lo ponen tan fácil como en el modo historia. Avisamos, algunas de estas fases requieren personajes altamente evolucionados. Podemos decir, a grandes rasgos, que se trata de un simulador infinito de batallas que permite desbloquear objetos y personajes. Por otro lado, contamos con un modo libre donde poder escoger, a nuestro antojo, cualquier nivel que hayamos superado previamente en el modo historia.

    One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition. La versión definitiva

La versión de Nintendo Switch viene cargada de contenido para hacer honor a aquello de “Deluxe Edition”. Por lo pronto, incluye todos los DLCs (42 para ser exactos) que se han publicado para el título original desde su lanzamiento, allá por 2015. ¿En que se traduce esto?, pues ni mas ni menos que en toneladas de contenido extra que va desde nuevos trajes (mola mucho poder vestir a Nami como Sun Shang xiang de Dynasty Warriors), pasando por nuevas misiones y alguna sorpresa en cuanto a su apartado jugable. Eso sí, para poder usar el plantel completo de héroes tenemos que desbloquearlos previamente en el modo historia.

  One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition está disponible en Japón desde diciembre del pasado año, por lo que el título llega al continente europeo con todas las mejoras que se han ido incorporando desde su lanzamiento en tierras niponas. Posibilidad de jugar con un solo joy-con, control por movimiento y soporte HD Rumble son algunos ejemplos. Tampoco podemos olvidarnos de uno de los añadidos estrella de esta edición. La posibilidad de poder jugarlo donde queramos gracias a su modo multijugador cooperativo para dos personas a pantalla partida. Un modo al que estamos sacando mucho jugo y que, sin duda, alarga las horas de diversión de este título. Por el contrario, no contamos con el modo cooperativo online que si incluía la versión para PlayStation 4 lanzada en 2015.

    Un aspecto la mar de jugable, ¡al abordaje piratas!

One Piece Pirate Warriors 3: Deluxe Edition para Nintendo Switch termina siendo más parecido al lanzamiento de PlayStation 4 que al de PS Vita o PS3. Los modelos de personajes, las sombras, las texturas y la velocidad de fotogramas mejoran ostensiblemente con respecto a los de PS Vita. No obstante, existen momentos concretos en los que alguna textura tarda más de la cuenta en cargar y otros en los que el paso del tiempo se hace más que palpable. En cuanto a su desempeño bruto en Switch, el juego corre a 30 rocosos y estables FPS. Su resolución alcanza 1080p en el modo TV, mientras que se juega a 720p en modo portátil. Los controles son fáciles de entender pero esto no quiere decir, ni mucho menos, que el sistema de combate sea básico o sencillo. Pirate Warriors 3 no es un simple machaca botones. Aquí tenemos que concentrarnos en plantear una buena defensa, gestionar nuestro tiempo y usar de forma inteligente nuestras habilidades. Hecho este último que dota al juego de un carácter realmente entretenido y dinámico.

  Por otro lado, como ya hemos comentado, y a diferencia de otros títulos del mismo género, tenemos una amplia variedad de personajes, ascendiendo a un total de casi 40 a nuestra disposición, y cada uno posee numerosos movimientos combinados y un estilo de lucha único e inimitable que dota al juego de un amplio surtido de ataques que enriquecen sobremanera su apartado jugable. Los distintos personajes cuentan incluso con rasgos típicos, puntos fuertes o débiles que entorpecen o facilitan la victoria en determinados momentos concretos de la aventura. El equipo de desarrollo ha hecho un gran trabajo, logrando que cada jugador y su personaje vivan una experiencia única. Ya juguemos como Luffy, Nami o Chopper, sentimos las posibilidades individuales que nos ofrece cada uno de ellos de una forma irrepetible y tremendamente fiel al anime y manga original. El toque RPG, como en anteriores entregas, viene dado en forma de monedas obtenidas durante la batalla, las cuales nos sirven para evolucionar a nuestros personajes. No esperéis demasiada complejidad en este aspecto, pero al menos dotan al conjunto de mayor interés.

    Por si todo esto fuera poco, contamos con una importarte novedad táctica, los ataques Kizuna Rush. Una suerte de movimiento combinado que nos permite convocar a uno o varios personajes a nuestro lado para realizar un poderoso ataque especial. Estos movimientos, además de dotar al título de un fuerte componente de compañerismo, nos permite matar a cientos de enemigos de un gomazo (sonido de platillos). El gran número de personajes en pantalla y el carácter frenético de las batallas tienen su contrapartida. El control de la cámara resulta confuso en ocasiones, teniendo que centrar la cámara bastante a menudo para intentar ubicarnos.

    El título se va perfectamente a las 15 horas de duración, mucho más aún si queremos completar todo su contenido, y cada nivel puede llevarnos unos 20 o 30 minutos. El problema aquí no es el contenido, que abunda, sino su repetitividad.  Las distintas mecánicas, aunque frenéticas, terminan resultando reiterativas, algo que por otro lado suele ser común a todos los musou. Como contrapartida, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 intenta dotar de dinamismo a la aventura con cambios constantes durante el desarrollo de la misma que nos hacen ponernos las pilas si realmente queremos salir victoriosos. Además, se trata de un título en el que no es raro completar un nivel después de haber derrotado a más de 3000 enemigos. La espectacularidad de las batallas masivas y la lluvia de mamporros está más que garantizada.

  Entrando en terreno sonoro, podemos decir que este juego hace suyas las melodías del anime original y las adapta de tal manera que casan a la perfección, logrando en todo momento que nos sintamos como si estuviéramos en la serie de televisión. Además, contamos con el doblaje original en japonés, algo que le aporta ese toque especial y único que los seguidores de One Piece saben apreciar y valorar. Los textos de pantalla nos llegan en cuasi perfecto castellano.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition, la última adaptación al género musou del más famoso manga de piratas de Eiichiro Oda, es sin lugar a dudas la mejor entrega de la serie, con toneladas de contenido, una historia que comprende gran parte de la franquicia y mucha rejugabilidad. Por el contrario, esto deriva en mecánicas repetitivas que, en cuanto a variedad, quedan un paso por detrás de otras propuestas similares.
