4 Minutes Theory:
What Dr. Den Doesn't Know
Hello. It is I again.
You know the procedure: It's under the cut.
Let's go.
Is It Dream Theory???
I think I could've started by explaining the things that made me consider the theory that I propose today BUT, I think it's only fair to address the elephant in the room first:
Are the events of 4 Minutes dream theory?
Look: maybe I'm wrong and I just fucking hate dream theory bc it's so overused, unoriginal and pointless but I wanna (and I do) believe it's not what's going on. Well... Not exactly.
Let's take it apart.
My favourite guy over here ^ (look at him, he's beautiful and he's precious and I love him, I wanna keep him inside my house and feed him treats, 'cause he's such a good boy), Dr. Den, is, and we know this since the beginning, conducting a study on what happens to people's brains when they go into cardiac arrest.
More especifically, he wants to know what happens to the brain within the 4 minutes during which it is still alive and without oxygen (before the person either dies or gets medical help).
For this, bc
(Yes, thank you, Pirates of the Caribbean) Dr. Den is collecting information through the people that have survived that experience. And, so far what we knew was: people have weird experiences when their brain doesn't have oxygen. Which, fair enough, that much was expected.
HOWEVER, this episode (or ep.5, for the people in the future. btw hi 👋) he get LORE through Dr. Den, my our favourite medical exposition guy. And here's what he says:
"Patients' perceptions vary based on their experiences. Some relive past experiences. Some have supernatural powers. Some go back to fix past mistakes. Some get a fresh start with those they love.
Patients' experiences feel real but they aren't entirely accurate. Patients can see memories, hear sounds or feel brief sensations of pain. Even if it is unrelated to what else is going on."
So this might seem pretty revealing and easy to understand: what we've seen so far was going on in Great's brain. This is his dream and it's what his brain is making up to keep him going during the 4 minutes where it nervously waits for someone to rescue it from impending doom.
And yes, I'm not crazy enough to say that's wrong but... Every situation has at least 3 versions of it, we say in Portuguese: mine, yours and the others'. And what I believe we need to see here is that:
What we know is merely what people remember when they wake up and what the medical staff can tell is happening to the body whose brain is 4 minutes without oxygen. It is NOT the whole truth. Not even close.
What Is It Then?
See, I could try and show the evidence first and then make a conclusion but I wanna hit you with a banger theory right away so Imma say it rn:
People's dreams when their brains have no oxygen in them are gateways that generate alternative realities.
And I hear you say: "okay but that's last week's theory, that's not new" and yes, you're correct HOWEVER, under the light of episode 5's events I feel like I need to prove this again. So let's hit it, Fergie!
1 - Dr. Den Recognizes He Has No Idea What the Time Travel Thing Is
Now, I know this might just mean Den recognizes he can't explain why it seems many people seem to experience this exact phenomenon of the 4 minutes time travel (which by itself is weird and opens up room for debate on what it means, even on a purely medical level) but I believe it can be used as evidence that something else is going on. That whatever that time travel means it goes being current human medicine, you know?
Even if not, it does prove my earlier point that what we're seing is only a fraction of the truth, that there is more to uncover. And a clear indication of the series (although it might be subtle to many) that we should be looking beyond on what lies on the surface and what Den is telling us.
2 - We're Being Shown Events in the Timeline Where Great Has Powers that Great Couldn't Possibly Know Because He Wasn't There
This is one of the strongest evidence points for me. Because explain to me how and why this man knows what Tyme told his grandma this episode.
Or how he knows conversations that happened between Dome and the medical staff?
Sure, Ig you can argue that maybe his brain imagines that's what happens, especially in Tyme's case since, I suppose it would be a nice thing to keep going for to think that your lover is rushing your way but... He barely knows Dome outside of being his classmate so that rule doesn't apply there. The events of Dome's life are, matter of fact, nearly irrelevant to Great's life (outside of the way in which they change Tonkla and Korn's relationship and, therefore, Korn's actions - which is why he was so hurt this episode to be demanded to let Tonkla go, since Tonkla's brother never dies and so he never met Win, thus they never broke up).
And what does anyone even have to say about what we're shown about Dr. Den's research? How does Great know that? Is he making it up? Does he know this in the original universe? How? He doesn't have the powers in the original universe, does he? Did Tyme tell him? Just casually? Idk, it could be, but...
Based on a very good point @yakdee (great URL btw) made on this post about how different the circumstances, motives and depth of GreatTyme's relationship and how they seem to be way more distant than in the current timeline, I do believe it's farfetched to think that Tyme would give Great any free info on his life and that of people around him. Much less on something so specific and seemingly uninteresting to Tyme (how can he, that topic is fascinating) as Den's research. I don't think it would even come to his mind. Matter of fact, I think it's only more prevalent to him in the current timeline bc of what Great told him. Otherwise, he couldn't care less.
Plus, if we think about it more closely... How many lives is Great's brain processing at once, then?? Isn't that kind of a lot?? Doesn't it make more sense for this to be an entirely different timeline where this things ARE happening??
PS: I know I could've also used Korn's dialogues as evidence but since he's the bridge between Great and Tonkla, I think it's hard to use his scenes as evidence for anything bc they could be happening in either Past 1 (the bad past with a bit of an oddity) or Past 2 (the past where Great time travels) [if you want to understand more of why I refer to these timelines this way, pls check out my previous theory]. I don't tink they change much regardless, Korn seems to be the person whose life is the least affected by the changes, out of all the main characters, but... Regardless, I don't think it's good practice to build over a shaky foundation so I have not.
3 - Great Can't Fix His Mother's Death
Now tell me why
(Ain't nothing but a heartache and a mistake, indeed, my friends) But that wasn't where I was going...
What I meant was: if your brain is making up a better reality where you can fix everything you did wrong, then why the fuck would it choose for your mother to die anyway??? Why, out of all things, was the only thing you could never fix your mom dying??
And sure, I know, I know, people will make the argument that it's the trauma and, like, yeah, Ig if you wanna believe that, that must've been that man's most traumatic moment, sure, I agree. But is that enough? The answer, I think, is: we don't know. Maybe, maybe not...
So... You can believe whatever, so far, I suppose, but the fact is that it leaves it open to interpretation why the events are so. Which means, it can be speculated that, the actual reason behind she dying again is because, for the 1st time since we've started to see Great's trajactory with his powers, he made the wrong choices.
And this is not me saying he's dumb, by the way, like... It's easy to ask for help for someone who's dying. It's only midly hard to land a punch on an murderer, even when he's your best friend. And it's certainly not unthinkable to open up to your crush, even when what you have to reveal is that you're a little bit crazy.
But I think it's extremely hard to stop a man with a gun. Even when your mom's life is on the line.
In a way, maybe, there is no timeline where Great can change that moment when it comes. Maybe timelines where he can avoid that moment from happening in the first place, yeah... But none in which he can avoid it if it's already there. (remember what I said about Greek Tragidies last week? yeah... it's coming up nicely)
And maybe this is not evidence for some people, which I respect, but to me, narrative intent and logic can be used to make a point. And I think making certain tragidies repeat themselves is part of what the narrative of 4 minutes is about too.
I know last time I talked about the power of people's actions and butterfly effect but that is only part of reality. A lot is under our control but a lot also isn't. And I think it's fair to assume, if the 1st part of this series was about the power, the 2nd will be about the impotence (which is not the sexual kind but I think the amount of sex we've seen in the 1st part is definitely a narrative tool and the fact this was the 1st episode without any sex scene [the flashbacks obviously don't count] is also being one).
Thus, my theory makes narrative sense.
4 - Tonkla's Weird Experiences Exist Outside of Great's Knowledge AND the Timeline He's In
Okay, I get it. It is possible to find alternative explanations to what I'm interpreting here and maybe that makes you doubt me. Fair. But then explain to me what the actual fuck is happening to Tonkla. Pls.
How is that man hearing his dead brother's voice? Seeing his dead cat walk around??
What does that mean? How can we be seing that if it's just all in Great's head??
I explained in my earlier theory (please check it out) that we're being given direct access to 3 different timelines: the one where Great is in the ER (pre-opening scenes), the one where Great has superpowers (Great-related scenes) and the one where Tonkla hears his brother and sees the cat (Tonkla-related scenes).
Based on that I can't possibly assume Great in the ER who's creating the timeline of Great with superpowers knows what's going on in the Tonkla timeline. He just can't. How would he even? He has no idea (as far as we know) who Tonkla is, that Dome is his brother, that bro had a cat that got killed by his father and that he buried it in Uni grounds... So we can't place that, no matter what, as just another figment of Great's imagination. Those events have to be real.
And if those events, which seem to be caused by Great's interference with the space-time continuum, are real, then that means, no doubts, that the Great Has Powers timeline also has to be.
So What Does It Mean??
Good question, Miley.
Luckily I have a beautifully tragic answer for you:
It means that when/if Great wakes up from the ER in his timeline nothing will have changed. The events of his life will be exactly the same and life will go on with the consequences of the choices he made the first time. Just like they are for Lukwa who woke up exactly in the same universe as she lost consciousness.
HOWEVER, while for that Great things will be as shitty as they were when he left, it also means that, far away from him, just like there must be another Timeline for Lukwa, there is a different timeline, with a Great who made different choices and, therefore, got a different end.
How different? I don't know. We're yet to see. But I think when we know, we'll be able to compare the two or three (maybe even more, we'll see now that the Great with Powers is also without oxygen in his brain) timelines we're being shown and take our own conclusions about the weight of our actions and the meaning of mistakes.
Final Thoughts
I think this series is doing a great job of making us question a lot of things like what is reality, how time works, what is the real weight of a choice, what is a choice, etc... And I can't wait to see where it leads us. I'm really hyped to understand this narrative.
As usual, if you guys wanna comment or add anything or ask anything or whatever it is, please do! Let's give soul to this fandom and interact with each other, yeah?
In the meantime...
All the love! 💜💜💜

just my thoughts but episode seven just made me realize that i don't think korn loves tonkla the way tonkla loves him.... and win really not going to end up with him (i mean: there's no romantic attraction with tonkla to win).... those three fr.... still baffled how tonkla doesn't know who great is?! with those years of being together?! i mean?! what.... even though they're hiding their relationship but that's so...... 😔 he knows fasai but not great oh my
Korn loves Tonkla the only way he knows how: by keeping him at a distance and by enforcing some sort of power imbalance through his money. It's unfair and it's toxic and it's downright horrible to be completely honest.
But it's still love. I need everyone to understand this. Korn loves Tonkla.
Win doesn't stand a chance with Tonkla. He tried everything, he got threatened and shot over the info he found about his brother, he fucked Tonkla raw like he wanted, heck, he even dropped the "khun" in episode 7 which shocked me more than the fact that he never made copies of the footage, but nothing mattered. Tonkla didn't give two shits about him and he never will.
It was a bit shocking that Tonkla didn't know Korn and Great were related, but honestly not surprising. As I said, Korn was being secretive in his relationship with him and he only mentioned his dad in front of him (and Fasai).
I believe the main reason was that Korn didn't feel the need to ever mention him. I view Korn as someone who only shares information he deems valuable or useful to share, which might be a habit or a character trait he gained by being his father's son.
Whatever the reason, I love Sammon's choice of including that. It makes it all more tragic and all the more delicious.
#I'll say it again in the tags - Korn loves Tonkla#it's abundantly clear in the FasaiKorn scene in ep5 if not from anywhere else#poor Win though#I feel bad for him the most after Tonkla#born to be a lover forced to be a stupid cop who gets infatuated by a murderous twink#4 minutes#korntonkla#wintonkla#asks

Ep 8 Thoughts and Details Part 1
Some thoughts and details I had while watching ep8, and some parallels I found. And yes, I had to split this into 2 parts because Tumblr said "fack you, you can only upload 30 images :P"
Spoilers, duh
youtube
Already starting strong, the song that plays through the radio is "Cyn's theme" if you will, that is heard all the way back in ep5 (time stamp about 2:34)
Ep8 showcasing the first teaser image that was released on Liam's channel. Quite bittersweet, in a good way.
Well, uh, Uzi is a true god now XD She's got the AS that was originally in Cyn as well, double powerful and double traumatized/damaged OC!
"A How-to guide of overcoming the existential dread evoked by murdering innocent sentient robots capable of emotion and independent thought. Real life JCJ engineer testimonies. Thought provoking analysis of life and the benefit of being the apex predator. Insanely philosophical advice such as, 'Get over it,' 'Shut up and keep working,' 'Do you want a job or not.'"
Bleh >:P The fact that the AS is still playful is something a bit silly to me, in a funny way. Despite it being the god of the universe- almost- it has a silly side to it.
The amount of times there were cuss words either almost said/implicated made me so happy and burst out laughing one too many times XD
I've seen some people mention how the reunion between Uzi and Nori was unsatisfactory. In my opinion? It was perfect. The awkward feeling of meeting someone you should have known your entire life, all the while trying to the world was perfectly translated here. The silliness that Uzi inherited from Nori shines here. But most of all, N's kindness shines through Uzi. I think if Uzi was still her angsty rebellious teen like she was back at the beginning of the series, she would have not had as nice of a reunion with Nori as she did now.
Omg, you have no idea how happy I was in this scene. The animation, VAs, the DETAIL- ALL OF IT was so amazing! N looks so silly and goober-y <:3 Another thing I took notice later on was the timing. It's not really stated how much time it took for Uzi to go from falling down the AS hole to being punted into space. But assuming about minutes, that implies N facking booked it. The moment he got tossed out of the cathedral with the keys, he absolutely booked it to the ship without evening thinking whether Uzi was alive or not. He needed to see the evidence for himself. He didn't give up on and assume that Uzi was gone.
Recently one of the animators posted the scenes they worked on, giving us a clearer view of expressions. The work done by Xoriak was amazing and really pushed the expressions on these characters to the limit. What used to be Uzi's anger, quickly melts into relief an sadness as she realizes that N didn't give up on her in this scene. While she sacrificed herself, N did not accept her possible death as the only answer. No, he chose to look for her, and he would have done the same with V had the elevator not been blocked off.
This made me happy too. N has grown so much from who he was in the pilot. He used to be the push over that made friends with rocks, that accepted any order from the higher ups and didn't dare question any rebuttals. Now? Now he's confident enough to even voice the fact that he was mad about what Uzi did.
Give me like- giv- give me a second- LKJD;OIADKNVKVNAKDJF;OIWAEJFANVKJASDJFAOIWEFNAKJSDBV For the longest time my hyperfixation has been BONKS. Evident enough with what I've drawn (looks back at the 4-5 bonk drawings I've made). The fact that I got to see them bonk in canon made my sad sorry soul ascend into the upper plane of existence XD Oh and "die man bit-"
I grew up watching Studio Ghibli, so to see this moment- of NUzi falling and holding hands, of course my brain said- YOYOYOYO LOOK LOOK THEY'RE SO CUTE-
The moment of respite, the hug, the tail wrap around and the quick release from Uzi's part after having a heart to heart- it was all so perfectly beautiful ;w; NOT TO MENTION THE MUSIC, as usual AJ DiSpirito absolutely delivered. I REQUIRE THAT MUSIC TO BE PLAYING LOUDLY IN MY EARS 24/7 PLEASE AND THANK YOU AJ.
"I owe you 1 spaceship" -N
Couple things:
It's funny how J just either gave the ship up without a fight, or N was so stupidly fast that J couldn't even do anything about him taking it XD
N is an absolute machine at speed drawing XD
"I'm FINE, and calm, and GO AWAY." J is the embodiment of the entire work force TwT Couldn't help but say "same, honey, same ;w;"
Excuse me while I just- ITS VVVVVVVVV SHE CAME BACK OH MY GOSH- passes out On a more serious note, I've seen plenty of people mention that if V came back, her sacrifice would be for nothing. I don't think so. V came such a long way and grew to be more kind and honest thanks to her interactions with N, Uzi, Lizzy, and even her "death." It shows, because she chose to side with Uzi and N, and they all fought together in an amazing dance.
There were many moments in the episode that were a bit "slower" pace as many have put. That these moments took away from the intensity that was supposed to be in the episode. I don't think so. These moments are needed not just for the comedy part of it, but to give our brains to rest. To take a second, process the fighting we just saw, and be ready for more action. This is often used in Studio Ghibli movies, where after heavy action, it is followed by moments of quiet serenity to give you time to let the events sink in.
This, this right here TwT CRIES. These three have been together, hanging out, figuring out the eldritch mysteries- of course they'd pick up habits from each other. From N becoming more confident with himself and allowing himself to be mad at someone. To Uzi picking up on V's crawling on the ceiling habit. To V picking up Uzi's "bite me."
The amount of hand holding that was in this episode gave me enough serotonin for a life time. And the way that N always ended up wrapping his tail around Uzi, be it a hug or a cool pose. All of my NUzi hyperfixations are becoming canon and making me go FERAL.
Something that is interesting and always comes back to us, is the AS's interest and fixation on N. The way I have always seen it was Cyn was the reason for it. The AS tends to take something from the host and amplify it ten fold. For Uzi's case the perfect example was when she felt anxious or upset. Ep4 and ep7 are great examples of that. For Cyn's case it would seem that she got attached to N after she entered the mansion as a Solver host. The AS probably took that thought and amplified it to unhealthy amounts.
Oh.MY.GOD. THESE GOOBERS SEND HELP THEY'RE TRYING TO KILL ME WITH HOW CUTE THEY ARE. N first attempts to protect Uzi, and she says "nuh uh" and covers his hand instead. This. This right here. It's far too beautiful TwT
Great frame, but uh, how the fack are we able to see the AS symbol? XD Cause uh like, her face has a split for the nose section still and all of a sudden it just... went away? XD Don't get me wrong, the animation is TOP NOTCH in these last episodes, but silly little moments like this- where it's super tense and scary, but after a rewatch it just seems silly.
When I first saw this I figured "oh shit, it's ep7 all over again, they're gonna be obliterated." The demonic screams I let out were a bit embarrassing to say the least XD
This little shit. She's just playing with them, and she knows it. This entire fight was nothing more than a little game for her. Like a cat playing with a mouse before killing it.
In this scene you can actually hear the first notes of Eternal Dream, but in a super distorted way, much like it sounded in ep6 (timestamp about 15:30)
youtube
Alright, Ginkgo what now, why include this blurry frame of nothing? I really admire Cyn's VA. Fitzy has always done an amazing job at making my favorite character- Cyn- the creepy silly goober that she is. So of course I would have watched and unwillingly memorized laugh takes that Fitzy also shared. One of which was here (time stamp of about 0:47. The laughs are similar, and most likely reused from ep7 takes that never made it into ep7 but carried over to ep8. Just a fun little detail I noticed.
youtube
OMFG LMAO AAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHA THE WAY I BAWLED THE FIRST TIME I HEARD IT XD
Split second frame but I see it. I SEE IT V. SHE COVERED UP N'S CORE TwT Despite all of the comments she made, despite all of the things she did, she still cared for him. And the entire show, her entire character growth shows that. She didn't run in that moment- she could have much like she did from Cynessa mere seconds ago, but she stayed, and tried to protect N too.
OMG BAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHA YESSS UZI XD
The entire fighting scene between Uzi, Cynessa and J was so amazing. As usual, AJ DiSpirito did an AMAZING job with the songs, but more so the fact that Uzi is able to hold her own against J and Cynessa, that just amazes me. She has always been strong, but seeing it in battle made me appreciate it all that much more. Another thing about this episode, it seemed like the animators didn't particularly try to hide anything sneaky. All of the glitched sections (ex: Uzi's visor after she at the AS) were code that general population is unable to read/decipher- unless someone with an actual expertise tells me otherwise, I can only assume its code of her CPU functions- once again, remember, I know next to nothing about computers and that language TwT But the moments that were evident were these- they were even changed to BLUE. From the pilot time, everything was sneaky. I mean from the way the Murder Drones logo switched briefly into the AS symbol, to N's waking up having administration "CYN" written on his visor upon reboot. All of that was sneaky details put in for us to hunt down. This time around, it didn't feel much of like a hunt and more like silly easter eggs.
Wanna see the rest of it? Yeah, here's part 2 because Tumblr doesn't like more than 30 images per post TwT

Samba had a baking class! There he revealed some scenes that were cut/rewritten at some point in the process include:
From Samba: Calypso’s birthday was supposed to be LuPete wedding and wee John and Roach were trying to get Ed and Stede to hook up. Roach is the one who would have given Stede the pierced ear. Wee John makes Ed an outfit. Then Stede & Ed actually danced! Samba likes what the episode changed to, and that they didn't force the Ed/Stede relationship earlier. This episode would have been a combination of Parent Trap+Makeovers+Slow Dancing [SLIGHT agreement about being happy they didn't push the relationship (as they move it from being the point of ep 6 to the end of ep 6), I'm just more mad that they made the LuPete wedding a last minute thing. This still would have felt rushed after multiple non-apologies from Ed. A part of me says they wanted the drag bits? But then you're telling me Lucius wouldn't want Wee John in drag at his wedding, which just sounds SO out of character]
[CUT SCENE] The reason Buttons had a rope around his waist for ep 1 was because he kept on trying to run to the sea. They had scenes showing this but it was cut.
[CUT SCENE] S2E1 where Stede's crew were all making wishes for a ship. Black Pete wished that Lucius would be alive on the ship, Olu wished that Jim would be on the ship, and Roach wished for a big kitchen on the ship!
[CUT SCENE] Apparently a LOT of Jim/Olu scenes were cut, including one where Archie and Olu step out of the bedroom in boxers. Confirming 100% that they are all poly, and Jim/Olu was still together together. With a hint of maybe Olu/Archie?
BEHIND-THE-SCENES STUFF
The 'Don’t you want your Sammie' sandwich scene in ep 4 was fully improvised, and that on top of getting hit in the face is why Nathan broke.
Thumb war scene was improv, which is a shame, as to me this was the most romantic moment of the fucking season. It's just so soft, and sweet, and happy.
Stede's jacket from ep5 is cursed irl bc the fire alarm went off w/ no explanation in the first scene with the jacket
David Fane got bit by an eel on the toe while filming the Roach&Fang spa scene
So they really seemed to have had a decent script then changed it, for some reason. It wouldn't have fixed everything, but it does confirm my theory that they mostly cut scenes with the crew/rewrote episodes so the crew wasn't heavily featured.
ALSO: Samba wanted to do an official podcast when the season was releasing but couldn't due to the strikes.

Hi Tetra 😘 have you played chapter 4 of NewGen ? Personally I’m disappointed by this chapter, we wait a month to see what happens with Jason and then we don’t even have a photo with him, I understand it’s a secret flirt but every time he only appears for LITERALLY 2 minutes !! 😔
Nooo anon we do have an illustration with him! You probably missed it but it exists trust me! I haven't played the episode with him yet (I always start with Thomas) but I know you have to pick a choice about snooping through his instagram when you're on your phone.
I understand what you mean by seeing him very little, it's frustrating I know, I came prepared because I remembered the other secret ruote we had in the past, Leiftan, he didn’t show up for many episodes and only became a proper crush by episode 17!! A while ago I made a collage of all his appearances from the beginning to ep17 and the video was just 40 minutes long! Yikes! So if I compare Jason to Leiftan, I am glad we always get to see him even if it's just for a short scene.
Chino said that she struggled to include Jason in all episodes because technically at the beginning of the game he had no plot reason to appear, as these first episodes were mostly an introduction, but she still wanted his players to have an illustration with him and don't feel forgotten. However this should be mostly solved from next episode onward, where we're going to start having our real alone interactions with him, so that’s good news!
Of course we should keep in mind that the other crushes are always going to be more present than him, since they are our coworkers and friends, but from ep5 onward Jason should indeed have more interesting scenes!

Good Omens S2 – Dust in Soho – Part 2
– currently gathering information about dusty cars and corresponding weather
Part 1: Episodes 1 to 4 Part 2: Episodes 5 and 6
Episode 5
This episode is strange... How many hours have passed since the end of ep4 – Aziraphale comes back from Edinburgh around 6:45 am, A&C go back to the bookshop after having put the plants back to the car – and the beginning of ep5 – Crowley comes back to Soho with the Bentley?
The Bentley looks clean.
When A&C go from shop to shop to invite the shopkeepers to the ball, I can spot clean and dirty cars... The street is dry now (remember, at the end of ep4, it was wet in the morning).
Right before the ball starts, the street is wet again and the blue car there looks quite clean:
Episode 6
During the discussion about Armageddon the Sequel, after the Nah, Gabriel asks: "What's next on the agenda?" Uriel: "The cleaning roster." (Thank you, @postsforposting, for pointing that out :) )
I am again confused about the time: what happened during the night? The ball started at 6:30 pm, and now it has to be after 6:00 am as there is daylight. I don't see how I can stretch the ball and the fight / visit to heaven over 11 hours.
When Crowley comes back from heaven, the street is wet and the car looks clean:
When Crowley exits the bookshop with Nina and Maggie I see rather clean cars:
During the final minutes, dirty cars are back. And, in particular, the Bentley is dirty. The street is wet.
In the fourth screenshot you can see that the Bentley got dirty during the night and someone put a hand on it above the front passenger's door as there is a clean spot, maybe while getting in/out. Also, when Crowley drives off, you see that the wiper must have been used after getting covered in dust.
We have to combine the information with the changing Bentley: "How to tell the three Good Omens Bentleys apart"
So, thoughts on the extra cars in this season:
I have the impression that a certain car is either dirty OR clean, e.g. I have never seen the taxi dirty. I will make a list...
A car can be dirty while the street is wet for two reasons: 1) It rained, but the car was not in the city when it rained. 2) It did NOT rain, but the street was flooded.
There is a heavy storm in the Job minisode. Crowley states "They've started early." Might that be a hint?
What are your thoughts?

Some moments in season 3 of Young Royals that stand out for me ep.4
Now, when I'm sharing with you my reactions, I can see that as the season went on, I calmed, so there wasn;t as much screaming and gasping after three first episodes. But also, I made 2h of a break before watching another 2 episodes. Also, the atmosphere in a season visibly changed. So here I'm talking about ep 1 and ep 2 and here ep 3. And here is episode 4 moments that made me burst in laugh, gasped, made me forgot how to breathe or wanted to puke.
Wille quoting Kristina
I had so mixed feelings about it. I felt sorry for him, but I was also angry but also sad. It felt like arguing with my parents, and hearing them say some idioms or sayings, bc they are left out of logical arguments.
2. Jan-Olof and his advice
I waited. I knew he will say something that will make my (and SImon's) blood boil.
And he did.
3. Strike in Hillerska
As a burnt out climate activist who were arrested by police for some non-violent action, I find it hilarious to see students of Hillerska doing sitting. The whole sequence was very funny too me and my friends with pretty similar background. As we have this experience in making strikes, we have to say that it wasn't very best way of preparing strike (the was not any preparing actually). This is not how you do it haha
4. Wille joining the strike bc he won't face any consequences
Simon summed up Wilhelm here so well... And I love how Simon makes Wille hear what he's saying.
5. Getting more in Eriksson's family story
This felt like very important information, and I like we keep digging in their family dynamics. Like - he wanted to have contact with Micke! I think it hits different bc we get to know something new about characters even though the series is ending and it's so surprising and doing things to me. Young Royals creators, why are you so genious?
6. Simon once again summing up
I love this man.
7. This conversation
This conversation happening in their window spot and as i was reminding my friend that they kissed there for the first time, the music from that moment started to play.
They needed to remind me I have to breath.
But the events made me somehow hungry too. But for more talk, which didn't happened, bc Simon cut it. I mean - instead of sayin "Me too" after Wille's "I don't want to hurt you" - he could talk more about how deleting his accounts made him feel. That day was clearly difficult for him from the moment it happened...
8. ...yet goofy Simon made me forgot for a minute about it
happens
and I like this site of Simon from the season 1.
9. Those rich kids are crazy
But we laughed loud, while watching it.
Yeah, do exactly bc of what the school has problems o.O
10. Those sleepy puffy faces
so smoll and tiny <3
11. Rosh & Ayub
I will miss their trio
12. When August said what I left was comming since he spoke with Nils 2 episodes earlier.
I felt full.
I love this show.
I'm not ready for today. There won't be a post about ep5 bc it's still too much for me. I won't be rewatching it today before final episode.
I'm so grateful for this show. And the people that were involved in making it.
Sending love to them today.

THOUGHTS WHILE WATCHING GILMORE GIRLS: S3/EP5/8 O Clock At The Oasis (Part 2)
Lorelai is going to learn a valuable lesson in this episode. Which is to never, ever let your guard down around Emily Gilmore. Here is a list of the following fatal errors that have occurred to lead up to Lorelai’s upcoming three ring shit-circus.
1. Lorelai accepted Emily’s invitation to the DAR furniture auction with only mild resistance
2.Lorelai confesses her crush on Paddle #17, Peyton Sanders (as played by Jon Hamm) to Emily, aware that he is a member of the Upper Crust and this, without a shadow of a doubt, is going to come back to bite her in the ass
3.Lorelai allows Emily to facilitate a date with Hamm by retrieving his phone number for her.
4.Lorelai appears to have silenced the little voice in her head that reminds her that Emily never does a favor like this without strings attached.
5.Lorelai turns down David Bowie tickets unaware he will cease touring in less than 2 years.
Let’s get on with it.
Hamm unexpectedly phones Lorelai to ask her out on not one, but two dates at once. First to dinner, then to a David Bowie concert. Hamm is loaded and owns a jet and has a pilot's license and enjoys trips to Hawaii and has access to premium concert tickets. What he was doing at some lame furniture auction in Connecticut in the first place is anyone's guess. In a whirlwind 3 minutes, Hamm asks Lorelai on two dates, she gets ready for one of the said dates, leaves on said date, comes home and declares it's over because he was boring. Why couldn't Crusty have made such a quick exit in the series? I swear.
Here is what Rory is reading (thank you @frazzledsoul):
Hamm is never seen again. But hey, we're just paving the way for Alex, the only non-Luke boyfriend of Lorelai's that I ever thought was Good. (he's still so far away though).
Totally read "He was horny" at first.
...Says the woman who had long term relationships with Crusty, Max Medina and JasonDiggerStiles. Lorelai is a magnet for dullards. Could hearing Hamm talk about wine and tires really be any worse than listening to JasonDiggerStiles discuss insurance? Lorelai goes onto complain that she nearly fell asleep listening to Hamm dominate the conversation with his varied interests in things like cars and wine and aviation. Hey, at least he has interests. You've certainly done a lot worse. LORELAI GILMORE complains that HE TALKED TOO MUCH. Caps Lock and Italics added for extra emphasis. Lorelai GIlmore, in turn could think of nothing to discuss but a story about getting drunk on cheap booze in the back of some guy's car when she was 14. Really Lorelai, you can't just grit your teeth for one more week and take his David Bowie tickets?
Rory has the best pajamas again.
Okay then, enjoy your dirty dreams about teenage boys I guess (she then expands on it so it becomes a threesome with said teenage boy and David Bowie). Rory might be the only teenage girl on Earth who gets woken up by her mother to hear her sex fantasies.
You sure you want to let this opportunity pass you by, Lorelai? "A heart attack in late June 2004 forced the cancellation of some dates near the end of Bowie's tour. Bowie retired from performing live in 2006, making the 2004 tour his last." You’ve got less than 2 years to see DB. Suck it up sister and take those damn tickets. JasonDiggerStiles is certainly not going to take you in '04. The next day, Lorelai stops by Emily's house and gets the third degree about the date. Hamm is a major mama's boy. Mama Hamm is a fellow Society biddy and spilled the details of their date to Emily. Quite predictably, as Lorelai tries to impart on Emily that there is not going to be a second date, Emily ramps up the guilt and manipulation and calls Lorelai selfish. I can see why Lorelai would sacrifice Hamm and his plane and Bowie tickets just to avoid this. And in about a minute, it will get worse.
Run, Lorelai. Run
I suddenly had this crushing sense of DeJaVu while watching this scene. and then I remembered this season 1 episode:
Season 1, Episode 16, Star Crossed Lovers and Other Strangers. Emily Shanghais Lorelai into FND with a different society dullard (named Chase) who is so boring she attempts to escape out a window (Richard catches her mid-escape, takes pity on her and covers for her). So with some minor details tweaked, history is repeating itself. Emily gives Lorelai her blessing to date some Society Dullard that Lorelai has no interest in, Emily resents Lorelai for not liking the guy and tries to forcibly couple them anyway, Lorelai resists the urge to murder her mother with a rusty chainsaw, Lorelai continues to date different dullards and Crusties anyway (not you Alex, you’re cool).
Lorelai thought she was home free after leaving Emily’s, but no. Enter Richard. He's a real wildcard. Sometime he’s the only voice of sensibility and sometimes he’s just another clown in the three ring shit-circus.
After sending Rory to Dwight's house to water his lawn so she won't be late for work, her phone rings a second time, and this time it’s Dad. If this was taking place a few years later and cellphones had caller ID, imagine how much different things could be! *dreamy fantasy music*
Salty Gilmores is proud to present: Stick Figures Gilmore Girls 2024.
Not only is Hamm’s Mommy Emily’s DAR friend, his father is also Richard’s golf buddy (funny, when Lorelai was asking them for his number earlier they didn’t act like they were that close to his family) and both Senior Hamms took great offense to Lorelai’s first degree murder of Peyton’s fragile male ego, so now the shit is trickling downstream to the elder Gilmores before landing on Lorelai.
Holy cow. What a drama queen. Look at him sitting there all smug twirling his random magnifying glass. All because Lorelai won't agree to a second date with some random Society Shmo that nobody has spoken of before and never will again. Richard tells Lorelai she "just doesn't understand her mother's world". I think it's safe to say she does. What is this strange feeling I'm experiencing? Is it sympathy for Lorelai? Ah, it feels weird, but it'll pass.

«Rita of Gokkan» Ch.13
eng translation by me
ch: [tag] [2-3] [4-6] [7-9] [10] [11] [12]
timeline: ep5 (N'kosopa ch2 of 4)
Rita questions Yanma's involvment in Gira's case.
ch13:
t/n: the part i spent the most time on is p4, Rita's description of Yanma. I laugh every five minutes how much they hate him, and also because I auto-converted unfamiliar phrases into canto, it takes a long time to rephrase it back in english. JP reads:
一方で気にいらないことがあれば
なんにでも食って掛かる野蛮な男…
国王失格だ…
((on the other hand) if there's something he's dissatisfied with/he doesn't like, he will oppose to it strongly (to an unnecessary extent/with excessive measures), a barbaric/unreasonable man... disqualifying for a king...)
in p8, my instinct said, 'let yanma says fuck' '…fuck you're talking about' makes him sounds dumber then '…hell you're talking about' (dumb is the vibe I was looking for), sadly let's keep it children-safe for a bit longer. unlike in p10, my instinct avoided every foul word for Shiokara. Of course he swears but, eh, not from me? I picked a wording that doesn't even match the syllables, a rare exception!

How long did you think Gerrard will be there?
I want him to die during the big diseaster in the first 3 episodes, but I'm thinking like 4-5 episodes
Like I think ep1 would show him being awful and the team dealing with him and planning to get rid of him (and they probably start some kind of action against him, but the diseaster puts a hold on it), ep 2-3 will be the diseaster and they won't have time to deal with him. But I think he'll either be gone by the end of ep4 or in the first half of ep5. (i kinda want it to be a situation where a victim or something films him being racist/homophobic towards the team, and they just upload the video and the LAFD has to get rid of him)
OR...he dies because Eddie gives him food poisoning in the first 10 minutes of ep1. Gerrard has to be at least 65, he could have a random heart attack from being startled by the sirens

Our Flag Means Death S2 Spoilers!
Something people doesn't seem to realize, is that pacing has a key impact to a story. Yes, the tale you want to tell can be the best someone has ever come up with, but if your pacing of it is awful, it pulls the whole story down with it. To rushed pacing? It loses meaning and impact, because there's no time to become attached. To slow paced? It becomes boring and uninteresting, finishing the book, show or movie feels more like a task than actual fun.
The first 4 episodes of season 2 of OFMD were awesome. The pacing was perfect, we had enough time to register what was happening and to sort out our emotions. I was a bit thrown off by ep 5. Because, while still good paced, you can start the see the problems because of the missing 2 eps ( for example the skipped fight, instead choosing to tell, not show. )-
Then episode 6 and 7 happened. And oh boi, I wanted to drop the show, only my love for it keeping me going.
I know that it isn't David Jenkins and the production team's fault, since the 2 episodes got cut, giving us the total of 8. But I can't excuse the decision to cram the plot of 10 eps into 8. If you have so little time left, why don't just cut some 'unimportant' storypoints?
Like Ned Lowe, he was introduced and died in the same episode. His purpose was to give GentleBeard development I know, that still doesn't give him enough importance to let him stay in the shortened version. Just like the second break-up from GentleBeard we got in ep 7.
Instead we got very out-of-character characters, Stede for example. I can see why he acts the way he does in ep 7. It would make sense, had he more time to have proper character development! Instead he feels weird, plus the very very uncomfortable second-hand embarrassment scenes (like the fight with Zheng). And sadly after ep 3, I couldn't feel the same chemistry GentleBeard had in S1. While there were cute scenes, like the end of ep5, I felt like something was missing to make me actually care. It's just my feelings, so not very important, but it was a bit disappointing.
The end of ep 7 gave me hope. Because it was a perfect way to introduce a villain, who's a genuine threat to our heros. And I maybe like Prince Ricky a bit to much. Then ep 8 came crushing down while drowing my love for OFMD, that made me ignore everything wrong with the second half of S2.
I like ep 8, well the first few minutes. It felt like I finally had time to see what's happening and David Jenkins didn't leave us completely clueless. ( Let's ignore the logic holes since it was is a comedy show and they were always there. ) And I was way to busy squieking like a pig of happiness to think critical.
I have many criticism points, but will only focus on one;
Izzy's death. And by god, I. Am. Pissed. Killing a character that is beloved by the fandom isn't the problem. While I love him, he's my favorite, I also love a good ol' angst. But he was in the middle of his redemption arc, and ending this with death is just such weak writing. I have nothing against killing a character off for development. Iron man for example, his whole story is about becoming a better person and jumping over his ego. And it ends just like Izzy in death. But Tony was through his arc, his death was the final, showing he has changed, showing he would do everything to save the universe and more important, the people he loves.
If Izzy died at the start of or before S2 I wouldn't complain, because it would've been perfect for him. Maybe if he died a more impactful death I wouldn't write this. But you can't make a character finally change and then destroy the meaning of it by killing him off in the fucking middle of the change. It would've had so much more impact seeing how he becomes a part of the crew he loathed not even a few weeks ago. Episode 5 did that great, while a bit fast. I like how he and Stede get along. Growing closer. It was a bit too fast paced, and I hoped for them to finally communicate, not talk. The same with Ed, I wanted him and Izzy to finally talk to eachother and not through eachother. However, giving us acutally communication while Izzy's fucking dying is not how you give impact. (And credit where credit's due; I really like that dialog, it was beautiful and the right words choosen to explain how Izzy feels)
Not to forget what a meaning it conveys. Izzy always did what he thought was right, even when it was completely wrong. But when he finally grows and begins to do actually what is right and let's go of Ed, he dies?
Still, I wouldn't say that they shouldn't have done a season 2 at all. It has great potential and I can see what they were going for. So, while it has it's problem's, it's nothing what a good fanfic can't fix. So I look forward to the amazing works that will build up on this hot mess and / or 'correct' it.
So bye, I'll go cry and give the last three episodes of S2 of OFMD, the last 20 minutes of S2 Go treatment T^T (except that GO S2 was fucking fantastic through the whole season)
#I love complaining#maybe I'm a bit salty because I wanted Izzy to get a boyfriend lol#the story had great potential#just too little time#this doesn't mean I hate season 2#I had really really fun wachting it :D#also my love Izzy <3#also unqualified opinion lmao#gentlebeard#gentlebonnet#izzy hands#izzy ofmd#izzy our flag means death#edward teach#our flag means death#our flag means death season 2#our flag means gay#israel hands#blackbonnet#blackbeard#stede bonnet#ed x stede

as my beloved friend @theosrose said yesterday when we were talking, the sheer lack of any scenes between stede and ed this season makes it feel very strange, and since i've got nothing better to do today, i've decided to compare the amount of screen-time stede and ed share in season 1 vs season 2*
* i mean scenes in which they are alone, or in company but the focus is only on them (like the restaurant scene)
season one:
ep3: their first meeting (25:17-25:38). total: 21 seconds
ep4: opening (02:22-02:42), "who's this mary then?" (09:51-10:48), stede wakes up (13:41-14:31), aux wardrobe (14:57-16:56), "do you wanna do something weird?" (18:36-21:11), "we need to be a lighthouse" (26:51-27:38), ending (29:43-31:10). total: 535 seconds
ep5: books looting (01:32-01:49), dining lessons (02:26-04:18), going to the party (04:51-05:21) (i cut it right when frenchie enters), entering the party (09:10-09:48), ed playing the piano (15:29-15:57), stede telling ed to stand down (20:31-21:04), passive aggression (25:17-25:36), moonlight (26:11-27:12). total: 337 seconds
ep6: opening (00:11-02:30), ed almost kills stede (15:46-16:00, 16:16-16:25, 16:49-16:55), bathroom scene (18:00-20:44). total: 332 seconds
ep7: opening (00:10-01:10), treasure map (05:11-05:56), the moth (10:45-11:12), restaurant scene (12:00-13:30), after lucius calls ed out (17:35-18:40), co-captains (24:29-25:07). total: 325 seconds
ep8: "i mean in hindsight i probably could've guessed" (11:22-48), nature walk (12:40-12:52), the beach talk (16:43-17:28), ed leaves (22:18-22:52), foot nudge (33:07-33:35). total: 145 seconds
ep9: ed shaves off his beard (13:33-15:27), the kiss (16:44-19:58), last conversation (21:02-21:35). total: 341 seconds
interesting note: although stede and ed share the last amount of scenes in ep9 (only 3), the total amount of time spent together is the second longest in the entire season. also, the kiss scene is the longest scene in s1.
TOTAL NUMBER OF SCENES: 35
TOTAL NUMBER OF TIME: 2036 seconds, or 33.93 minutes
the total runtime of s1 is 5 hours 6 minutes 45 seconds, or 306.75 minutes. 33.93 out of 306.75 in percentage is 11.06%
season two:
ep1: opening (01:12-02:17). total: 65 seconds
ep3: reunion (27:43-29:44). total: 121 seconds
ep4: opening (00:00-00:28), "you're not a mermaid" (03:17-03:35), "i like your beard" (10:09-10:46), "i love everything about you" (17:23-19:43), stede inviting ed back to the ship (24:00-24:53), "buttons turned into a seagull!" (26:40-27:02). total: 298 seconds
ep5: "i'm your captain" (03:22-04:50), moonlight kiss (25:20-27:44). total: 224 seconds
ep6: guilt room (03:01-03:22), poison into positivity (04:53-05:47), don't be pirates, kids (07:47-08:17), the almost dance (11:38-11:54), the love scene (22:10-22:27, 22:43-22:50, 23:25-23:32). total: 152 seconds
ep7: the morning after (01:02-02:18), dining and dashing (04:19-05:57), ed giving stede a lesson in being famous (06:03-06:43), ed leaving (11:59-13:51). total: 326 seconds
TOTAL NUMBER OF SCENES: 21
TOTAL NUMBER OF TIME: 1186 seconds, or 19.76 minutes
the total runtime of s2 (minus the finale) is 3 hours 16 minutes and 2 seconds, or 196.033 minutes. 19.76 out of 196.033 in percentage is 10.07%
CONCLUSION:
while the amount of screen time in percentage is similar between the seasons, s2 has significantly fewer scenes with stede and ed. additionally, the time they spend together per episode in s1 is much longer than in s2, and the scenes are stretched out throughout the episodes evenly. even during s1ep8, in which they share the least amount of screen time due to being separated, stede and ed still share 5 scenes, unlike s2ep5 which separates them for the longest amount of time (20 minutes!)
so far in s2, stede and ed share way less scenes than in s1, and when they do, they are shorter and often oddly spaced. for me, the best laid out episode is episode 4, while the worst is episode 5. interestingly, they share the least amount of screen time (after ed wakes up) in ep6, despite having the love scene in it. in my opinion, most of their scenes in s2 feel less earnest than in s1, and are so short i can barely savor them. this is ultimately the result of hbo cutting off two episodes, but also an issue of giving the crew too much spotlight, making stede and ed's plot line feel rush and poorly planned post ep3.
i have no doubt the finale will fix most of stede and ed's issues, but the scarcity of the scenes they share (and their contents) make their arc feel watered down to me, like the writing crew keep beginning to say something meaningful but getting cut mid sentence

The major win for me after this season is that fans are going to start writing horror/supernatural fiction for this fandom!
A genera or tone many of y'all probably haven't touched-but I assure you, it's SO much fun to write with the characters Canon has given us. May I tempt you with a few starting concepts I use to set the mood for pirate-specific horror? [Some spoilers for S2 OFMD]
Doldrums! A period where a ship gets no wind- can anywhere from a few minutes or potentially months at a time. unpredictable and impossible to plan for, as if you kept stock for doldrums, you're adding a TON of salted beef and green water to your stores. More supplies means less room for loot. During this time-on top of slowly losing food and water rations. Your crew could start to hallucinate, go sun blind, or grow bored of menial work. That and if your near the equator(where most took place)- the sun cooks the wood of your top deck.
It gets REALLY dark it night. Like. I don't think OFMD has shown a scene that really depicts how dark it is. The point of the night lookout is to have maybe one candle lit at night by the helm, steer the ship, and keep an eye out for any dots of light on the horizon.
I highly recommend watching videos of pirate battles. Assassins Creed 4, recreations, people reading off accounts of battle. Anything. That shit is scary as hell. A lot of praying the wind is on your side, or that a gust of wind wouldn't knock the ship out of line of fire. Many pirates were caught because they were at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Now- The psychological shit- Most first mates were chosen by their captain. While the Captain themselves were elected by the crew. If a Captain was mutinied, the first mate would be as well for fear of the first mate was more loyal to the old captain than the crew. This is why Ed's speech to Frenchie S2ep2 makes sense. Ed knows the crew was iffy with Izzy, but didn't want to risk Izzy staying alive to possibly start a mutiny against him. So Frenchie had to kill Izzy.
Most Pirates lasted *at most* 2 years at this point in history. Blackbeard lasted 15 months. Bonnet lasted AS A PIRATE from Spring 1717 to November 10th 1718. Being hung in December of 1718. Read up on how common it was to just...go overboard. Or get so drunk your crew couldn't fight back against the English. This is how Calico Jack, Anne Bonne, and Mary(Mark) Reed went down. People not ready to fight caught with their pants down. Play up how every feels like they're walking into their own noose.
Many diseases spread like wildfire among the lower crew. So crews took 'quarantining' measures very seriously for things like dysentery and malaria. Often throwing bodies overboard.
S2 ep5 (top 3 eps of the show for me) WAS SO RIGHT ABOUT WHY SUPERSTITIONS WERE IMPORTANT TO MANAGE. Again what I said about how easy it was for the crew to turn on a captain they didn't like. But any form of doubt tword your captain could be enough to start the brewing's of a mutiny.
At the time. Going overboard was a death sentence. Many sailors didn't learn to swim as trying swimming usually meant that 1.) Your ship went down in battle and your about to be captured by the authorities or 2.) You went overboard in a storm/your ship sunk. So either way your fucked. Many thought just drowning was a more peaceful death than trying to fight for your life, drowning once exhausted.
The only thing between you and the endless abyss at any point in time is a few layers of creaking, slowly rotting, wood
Ships would creak. They're made of wood and you know how houses shift? SO DO SHIPS. During rough waves or even just at random points in the day.
The sails had to manually be raised in/before storms by climbing up the mast, going out, stepping on a VERY thin peice of rope tied off at the ends of each yard(I always call them 'yard lines', but don't quote me) they'd then reach over and pull the sail up to then fasten down. This took a dozen men on a large ship. (You can see this person standing a thicker version of it in the photo below)
Masts are VERY heavy. A mast cracking and crashing onto deck could cause enough damage to sink a ship.
The Black Dot- a superstition that if you see a black dot left on your door/ or on your person (ie someone slipping it in your pocket) means you will die soon. Usually given to someone higher rank before a mutiny. We have no proof this was a real thing but a LOT of pirate media uses it.
Add more if you think of them!! [I might do a tropes based on the more supernatural elements of horror later, but for most tropes (mermaids, ghost ships, poltergeists, selkies) I think the fandom has it covered]
