A/N: We're going with season three. Set post 3x06, 3XK.

"Hey, what are you doing hiding out from your own party?"

Rick glances up in surprise at the sound of Beckett's voice. A smile tugs at the corner of his mouth as he assesses her. "You're... a pirate?"

She shrugs and snags the exaggerated pirate's cap from her head. It's the only portion of her outfit that is a costume; her slacks, sweater, and trench coat complete the rest of her typical work attire.

"It was either this or witch hat - it's all they had left at the little pop-up shop a block over," she grins, toying with the glittering gold lining of the hat's rim. "I figured this was a bit more original."

"I applaud your efforts," he smiles back at her, watching as she moves deeper into his office. She leans her hip against his desk, arms crossed and brow arched.

"Thank you. Now, back to my question."

"I'm just... not in the mood," he murmurs, craning his neck to check the status of the party past his walls of bookshelves. "No one notices I'm gone anyway, they're fine."

"I noticed." She says it a little too quickly, and he watches her cheeks tinge pink. "Castle, you love Halloween. You start planning your yearly Halloween party in March-"

"I know, I know," he huffs, spinning away from her in his desk chair. "I'm just not feeling the spooky spirit tonight, Beckett. Give me a break."

She doesn't respond, but he can hear the quiet pierce of her heels in the soft plush of the rug. They stop in front of him.

"Castle."

He lifts his gaze to find her leaning against his window, blocking his steadfast glare of the city lights. She looks beautiful as always and he wants to stand, frame her hips in his hands, tower over her body with the cove of his.

"I'm not in the mood to celebrate. Not while Tyson is still out there."

She nods, not a hint of her surprise at the admission.

"It's not your fault, you know." Her words are soft, a balm to his rattled mind. All he sees when he closes his eyes is Jerry Tyson, the women he killed. He can't write, can't sleep, not without imagining the Triple Killer's future victims. "Rick."

"I know," he sighs automatically, pushing up from the desk. "I'll be fine, Beckett. Now, let me just change into my costume and we'll-"

She catches his arm, thin fingers curling into the crook of his elbow. Staying him.

His eyes flick down to find hers, staring back at him with concern swirling dark in the browns and greens of her irises.

"I know it's easy to focus on the bad, on the what if's and the worst case scenarios, trust me," she murmurs, her thumb moving slowly back and forth along his bicep. "But you could have died that night, Castle. We'll catch Tyson, but for now, I just want to focus on the positives. Like how you are alive."

"Until he comes back," Rick hisses, something terrible and aching rising up from the depths of his chest. "He made it personal, Kate. He's going to come back and come after me, Ryan. And what if that's not enough? What if he targets my family - my daughter, my mother, you-"

"Hey." Her hands are cold when they touch his cheeks, directing his attention to her, steadying his focus on her and her alone. The heavy pound of his heart begins to slow, to ease. "No one is coming after Alexis, or Martha, or Ryan, or-"

"You," he growls, reaching for the sharp points of her hips just like he wanted to earlier. She lets him and he doesn't even pause to relish in that. He keeps having dreams of finding her with a rope around her neck and wakes drenched in sweat and grief, his throat raw with sobs scraping at his trachea. "Kate, no one touches you-"

"Okay, okay," she whispers, one of her hands drifting into his hair, fingers curling behind his ear. "We'll protect each other, have each other's backs. No matter what Tyson does."

His eyes flutter shut and he lets his cheek fall heavy against her palm.

"I'm sorry," he sighs under his breath. "I just... I'm having these dreams and I can't stop thinking - it's killing me, Kate."

An arm hooks around his neck and she's pulling him into her, letting him bury his face in her neck, his fingers delving beneath her coat to clutch at her sweater. She rubs his back, soothing patterns up and down the bow of his spine, and cups his nape with the palm of her hand. For the first time in days, he can breathe evenly.

He's not sure how long they remain like that, his body bent over hers, arms entangled around each other's frames, the city lights glittering behind them.

The pop of a champagne bottle, the cheers of his guests, startle them apart, but only enough to have him looking down at her, foreheads nearly touching, her eyes drifting to his mouth.

A trembling hand rises between them, her fingers dusting across his bottom lip. Her eyes flutter closed and Kate exhales heavily.

"How's Gina?" she rasps, fingers tripping down his throat to rest at the neck of his sweater.

He wishes he could say he cared to even think of Gina in that second, that he thought of her at all in the last few minutes, but it would be a lie. The only thing on his mind in this moment is closing the distance between his mouth and Kate's, pressing her up against the window and slotting every piece of their bodies into place. The only thing on his mind is carrying Kate Beckett to his bed.

Rick knocks his forehead against hers.

"She's out of town, business trip," he croaks, quickly clearing his throat. "Kate-"

"I know." Her hand falls lower on his chest, lingering above his heart. Imprinting her claim there. "Go put on your costume, Castle."

He closes his eyes for a long moment, forces himself to think about his girlfriend, her boyfriend - to remember who he and Kate Beckett are. And what they are not.

"Thank you," he murmurs, squeezing her arm and pulling away from her with great effort. "For being here. For listening."

She offers him a smile that makes him ache. "Always."

He snags her hat from her desk, plops it atop her head. "And for making spirits bright."

Her smile grows and she adjusts the pirate's cap as he starts towards his bedroom.

"Oh, and Castle?" He turns, just in time to catch a piece of candy she pulls from her coat pocket, tosses his way. He glances down quizzically at orange and black wrapper, the picture of peanuts and potato chips beneath the label. "Trick or treat."

"Peanut butter chocolate and potato chip?" he grins, looking up at her with amusement building in his cheek.

She shrugs, gives him one of those rare, genuine Kate Beckett smiles. "Made me think of you."

And then she's turning on her heel, heading back into the party as the Monster Mash begins to blast through his living room.

Happy Halloween, indeed.

Happy Tuesday evening all :) Another non Chenford ep BUT good separate SL’s once again. After this this won’t be an issue for a long while ha Good scenes with Harper training Lucy for UC. Which I LOVE basically female version of Tim and I love it. Good moments with Nolan and Tim. You read that right haha Nolan still mainly a putz but their scenes are good. Second to last ep of the season. Woo here we go.

3x13 Triple Duty

Tim and Nolan are paired together in this one. Their dynamic changes a little more each time they are paired. Last time was 2x12 when Lucy was with Harper. We start the episode off on lovely note. Tim asking how Henry is? Ugh love this man’s heart. Look at him asking Nolan of all people a personal question. AND he’s being genuine about it. Be still my heart Mr. Bradford.

Tim asks about his interest in T.O. once he’s graduated as well. Look at our boy creating conversation with John. I love it so much. I think it's partly to see his reason but mostly genuine. Nolan asks Tim if he has any advice he could share he would appreciate it. Tim saying ‘Sure’ is the best. Look how he’s grown. Being a fountain of info for Nolan. How times have changed.

Their convo is interrupted by hearing multiple gun shots. Assault rifles from the sounds of it. They pull up to cemetery and are shot at immediately. They follow the guy deep into the cemetery and find his body. Looks like he was shot to hell and couldn’t make it any farther. They investigate more and stumble upon a massacre. I love the look they share as they hear backup arriving. Pretty grim.

Looks like the war that was created last ep with La Fiera has begun. Crazy brutal way to start it but she is a VERY angry grieving mother. She is taking swift action and justice on the late Tomas’s business. His son clearly her target for what happened to Diego. A turf war has begun and doesn’t look like there are signs of it letting up.

Angela shows up on scene to confer with Grey, Tim and Nolan. La Fiera flew back to Guatemala to bury Diego. She has since returned to take care of unfinished business. She is camping out at a hotel downtown. Rented out the entire floor for her time in L.A. Grey tells Angela to go and see her. Cesar has gone to ground and Narcotics can’t find him. Tim says he could ask Mack he worked for his dad. Now that he’s in rehab will have a clearer head to help out. Look at the good that came from him helping Mack out. Full circle goodness already. Good job Tim.

We catch Lucy and Jackson fighting over who’s going to do paperwork. Jackson is winning until Grey calls her into his office. Leaving him with the dreaded paperwork haha When she enters his office Harper is there. Grey asks her if she heard about the mass casualties from this morning? Lucy tells him yes that they expected as much after what happened at the hospital.

Harper then steps in and says this has created an opportunity for them. Saying how when bosses are murdered/die it changes things. UC’s get upended from their covers due to it. She then says it lets them bring new UC’s into the field. We watch Lucy light up like a Christmas Tree. She could not be more excited about this news. Ready to jump in and do whatever Nyla wants to be apart of this.

If Tim could hear all this he would be having a coronary. LOL Lucy is so excited to have another crack at a UC OP. Saying she is so ready to do this again if they need it. Harper tells her not so fast. This won’t be a sting operation like last time. It's going to be be a long term placement instead. Much different than the one time OP she did back in 3x06. Her character remains the same the operation not so much.

Grey lets her know she would be on her own. No backup or surveillance like last time. That he’s told Harper to test her readiness today. That if she doesn’t sign off with confidence it’s not happening. You can tell Lucy is chomping at the bit to prove herself. I do love Grey telling her it’s ok if by end of day she isn’t prepared. No shame in the game. Harper tells Lucy to go get changed they’re throwing her in the deep end ASAP.

Tim gets the info he needs from Mack. Yay good job Mack ha Tim and Nolan roll up to Cesar’s hideout. Tim is confident and leading the charge in the convo. Quite sexy to watch. Telling Cesar if he just honors the deal his father made La Fiera might let him live. Otherwise she’s coming for him hard and won’t let up till he’s dead.

Cesar is pig headed and refuses to do this of course. Saying what belonged to the father will be inherited by the son. Ok but no LOL They warn him if his men believe the deal is legit they’ll bail on him. Leaving him exposed and alone by not cutting this off at the pass. Cesar continues his cocky act. No wonder she ends up offing you my man….Nolan asks Tim what they do from here? He tells him they can only hope Angela having better luck with La Fiera…

In their downtime Angela has assigned Tim the task of cop RSVPs and getting the number down. They haven’t replied so he has to track them down for numbers or if they have to reduce that number. He’s battling with someone with the amount they want to bring. Tim is so over being a MOH LOL Nolan motions for him to hand over the phone. John throws Tim under the bus. Saying he miscalculated the venue cap. That she can’t have a plus 4.

When he hands the phone back my lord. If looks could kill LMAO Asking if he’s proud of himself? Throwing a fellow officer under the bus? John’s reply is pretty solid(even if he's schmuck). Tim can’t even refute it since it got results haha Ballsy of him to do tbh. If you weren’t friends with Lucy... You'd be dead man John.

Angela calls Tim and her ringtone is the wedding march. I love this little detail so much. It's adorable. He asks how her meeting went? She tells the guys she can stop the war. Tim ask how? Angela lets them know through giving her the recording from hospital. She can take control after that. I adore Tim teaching Nolan something during this. Always in T.O. Mode I love it. Basically telling him live today fight tomorrow mentality with this. They keep citizens safe today go after her tomorrow.

We catch back up with Harper and Lucy. Lucy looks ready for her first test. Harper tells her she can’t cram 100 hours worth of training in one day. So all she can do is teach her what she needs to know in order to survive. Asking her the three things she needs to know to make it. Lucy tells her about being aware of the law, always stay in character and can’t remember the last one. Harper fills in the blank above.

Nyla emphasizes how much multi tasking she has to do just mentally. I couldn’t do it personally. She then asks Lucy if she’s worked on her backstory at all? Our wonderful dork says 4 notebooks. Harper laughs. Oh Lucy never change my friend never change. She gives Lucy 5 minutes to get into character before they go to this party. Gah love this dynamic so much. How far we’ve come from the dark days of the sewer.

Harper has invited her to a party with a test involved. Clearly someone tied to her UC life. Wants to see how she does. Lucy is slick af talking with this guy. Talking in double speak about ‘cooking’ and the big orders she can handle. Even calls him out for asking about where she learned to cook. She is crushing it until she see’s Tamara then you watch her demeanor change completely.

Channeling Lucy Chen in this moment and not Nova. Like she’s supposed to be doing. One of the cardinal rules of UC. This guy she is with is laying hands on her. Takes everything in her power not to kill this kid. Lucy plays it off as not liking how he’s treating her. That she can’t stand to see it. He says he can take care of that for her then. To watch the grill.

He walks over and shouts at the boy with Tamara. I love the silent communication between her and Tamara. She takes a step forward and Lucy stops her. He tells him to make his way over. Harper is asking wtf is going on? He tells her Nova didn’t like how the kid was treating that girl. Harper does some double speak of her own talking about how the girl needs some better focus.

The little snot is a cocky putz when he comes over. Lucy tells him he needs to treat her better. Shows him her gun when he tries to be a turd back. He cowers and says won’t happen again. Lucy telling him 'Good now piss off.' Amazing. UC Lucy is always a delight to watch. That confidence radiating off her when she's in character.

Tim and Nolan are waiting on Smitty for civilian clothes and a unmarked car. They need to follow Cesar but can’t in their shop and uniforms. He was supposed to pull clothes from their lockers. He ended up pulling them from lost and found LOL Tim holding up the ‘Hugs 4 life’ shirt is everything. Nolan complains they gave him their combinations for their clothes. Smitty says 'Yeah but he didn't do that' My god. Tim asks why they rely on him for anything? Haha

Their scene follows up with hilarious continuation of the guest list. It’s like Nolan wants to die. Tim has been incredibly chill and patient. More so than he's ever been with him. Maybe don’t test that boundary John. Smh. Always takes it too far. I do like him re-instilling fear in him a bit. He was a little too cocky last time he stood up to Tim about this guest list lol.

Also plain clothes Tim is my fav kind of Tim. Well until we get 'Metro Tim' but that is a long ways off. You think I’m thirsty for him now. Phew lord you all just wait... Tim’s death glare gets interrupted. They see Cesar take off and notify dispatch for backup as they pursue him. The way Tim says ‘Cesar’ hot damn. Take me now sir. *fans self* That inflection he does I can not get over it. Mmm.

We soon find out Harper planted Tamara there as a distraction. Lucy pretends she knew it was a test. Uh huh sure you did.... Protective mama Lucy comes out quickly after. Saying she should be in school. Tamara tells she Nyla wrote her a note. Lucy then asks about the guy. She just walks away from her without a word LOL Nyla's reaction is too cute. Lucy in none too pleased with that reply but doesn't have time to delve deeper.

We then meet the man from the BBQ. He’s another UC an expert in Narcotics. His Name is Shay and Nyla set her up there for a reason. He tells her what a good job she did with the kid. That it was a nice save. He is also an expert in making all kind of drugs while being UC. He tests her and she CRUSHES it. I love the proud face on Nyla. She knows the superstar she has ahold of. Couldn’t be prouder if she tried.

Shay tells her 'Good.' That they’re going to spend the afternoon cooking. Telling her it’s one thing to know what to do when everything is good. It’s another skill set to know what to do when it’s not. That’s what’s going to keep Lucy alive should shit hit the fan. (which it will) That skill will end up saving her life. We will see that in the next episode.

Tim and Nolan roll up and see he’s left his hideout for a booty call. To see his baby mama. No wonder his father has no faith in him. Man is putting this first during a drug war. After he leaves they go and knock on the door to talk to her. Saying they need to talk to her about Cesar and anything he's hiding here. Angela calls Tim saying she thinks La Fiera’s plan isn’t to kill him, but to kill his kid. For him to feel the same suffering she is feeling.

As she says this a car rolls up five shooters ready to go. Tim is sexy af as he talks Nolan through his plan. The plain clothes are adding to said sexiness. But yummy the way he says they’re about to find out how steep the price of admission is. Good god man you truly are sex on two legs walking. The way he exits the house confident as hell. Pass me the ice water. Confidence is an attractive thing on its own. It’s insanely so on Tim Bradford.

I do love the banter between John and Tim in this scene. Definitely found a little groove at this point. Also we got a shot of Tim’s ass in jeans. Wins all around. Talking about how much money they’d need to walk away. They make a joke about being Batman rich. Nolan takes an impressive shot at the main heavy. Yes I complimented Nolan. I must be high off of Tim in Plain clothes being authoritative. Probably won’t happen again.

I do enjoy how the scene unfolds in the house. How Tim and Nolan slowly take apart her crew. Each taking out a couple guys each. Watching Tim in the field being all competent always a delight to behold. The ending scene is pretty cute. Tim may not always like Nolan personally but he respects him as a cop. This is a good bonding moment for them. Tim’s proud of how he handled himself in his knife fight. It’s all over his face. Nolan actually impressed him. There's a first time for everything they say.

We see Lucy at the station waiting on word about the operation. Nyla comes over with exciting news. She got a glowing recommendation from Shay. Saying she is more knowledgeable than most of his own people. Nyla also approves and says Grey has officially given her the go of being in this operation. Nyla tells her to get personal life squared away before tomorrow. No telling how long she will be gone. That she can’t let her guard down ever but to go home for now. To rest up tomorrow the real work begins.

We rejoin the guys at the station. Filling out a mountain of paperwork. Nolan asks if Tim wants to order Thai food? Tim doesn’t answer his question but does say he’s a good cop he will give him that. John looks confused and is like so food? My god Nolan. LOL You’re about to get a serious lesson my good man. I love how passionate Tim is about teaching the next generation. It shows in his training and how he is about it with everyone. He has to make sure he really wants this.

Tim calling Nolan on his crap for being indecisive is AMAZING. He doesn’t want the next generation taught by someone apathetic. Or as Tim says views it as a consolation prize. He takes so much pride in being a T.O. He’s making sure Nolan is doing it for the best of reasons. So very Tim to feel it is his duty to vet anyone wanting to be a teacher. Put them through his paces see if they're worthy.

John has never had a Tim test before. You better believe he’s doing it now for him. To see how he’ll react to him goading him. Pushing his buttons about his intentions. Nolan passionately defends himself and why he wants to be one. You can see on Tim’s face he accepts John's answer. Then it’s the most guy way to end their convo. Tim answering his previous question about food. Nolan says 'Love it' and it’s over. No emotions just food. Men. LOL

Lucy is on her way home when she is kidnapped. I can only imagine the Caleb PTSD she is going through in this moment. Her being overpowered instantly. Her yelling ‘No no’ ugh my heart. She’s brought to a rooftop where Harper is also bound and gagged. She is bleeding profusely from her head.

Lucy holds her own from the jump though. Saying Coco was being tortured so of course she said that. The killer instinct holding up. The one Harper saw in her from day one. She doesn’t let the fact this guy is accusing her, Coco and Harper of all being cops. Then he douses Harper in gas and says he isn’t asking. He knows they are cops. All he wants to know is what the cops know about Salonga and his future plans. That whatever they know will affect future deals.

It’s intense af as he starts a lighter up. It’s then we really watch Lucy dig deep. Rely heavily on that killer instinct of hers. How she walks her way out of this with just her words. That if he sets that fire Salonga is good as dead. Recalling he is in debt to some bad people.

That she’s the only one that can relieve him of that debt. Cook him up a fortune. But if he kills Harper all that goes down the drain and she won't cook him a damn thing. Emphasizing he needs her more than she needs him. That he needs to pull his head out of his ass and let them go. Such a BAMF in this scene. Holds her own with a fiery performance.

We find out it was another test set up by Harper. Nyla having the most Tim-like reply when Shay sings her praises. Lucy is livid and calls him a full service asshat LOL He takes no offense and says she will thank him later for this. (I mean she will...) Lucy is vibrating with anger for the both of them. Like a cornered animal ready to strike at any provocation. She is insanely revved up finding this final test insane.

Lucy goes after Harper pretty hard regarding her PTSD about being abducted. Nyla is on point per usual and says that’s why she did it. I mean it’s a great way to see how she would react. To see if Lucy could push past the PTSD and still function. Stay in character and keep herself and Harper alive. She passed with flying colors. Even if Lucy is raging at the moment.

Harper tells her it’s the last test. Lucy is still full of spit and vinegar in her reply. Saying the last test was the last one. Nyla telling her that’s why she wasn’t expecting this one. Then gets really real with her. Asking if she wants an out? Still wants to do this Even after what she just experienced? Lucy brimming with an immense amount of adrenaline and says ‘Yeah. I do.’ The ep ends there. Hell of a day for our girl my god.

Not a ton. It is nice to see Stanton get his come-up in’s after he’s reinstated. That’s about it for non chenford stuff really.

Holy crap we’re hitting the finale next. I swear I just started s3. Blinked and we’re at 3x14 now it’s a shortened season but still.

Summary: An AU stemming from the first few episodes of Season 3. Liam was sexually assaulted while in captivity, and when he finally tells his brother what happened, Cordell decides to take matters into his own hands. Together, he and Liam find closure through vengeance against the man who left Liam broken and traumatized.

I do have to give a warning for Walkercest but even beyond that, I love how Cordell takes justice into his own hands here for the sake of his brother. He wants to help Liam and this is the only way he really knows how. Even if Walkercest isn't your thing, I would recommend this fic based purely on the brotherly love.

Summary: Things go very wrong at the medal ceremony for Cassie and August. 3x14 AU.

This whole two-parter event lives in my mind rent free and it's one of those that makes me wish Walker would take things down a darker path. This fic scratches that itch so hard.

This fic scratched an itch I didn't even know I had and I come back to reread it often just because it's so good. The dynamics here are so interesting and not something I would've thought I'd like but I love every second of it.

A story about overcoming fear, living authentically, coming out and coming home. And sex. Lots and lots of sex.

This fic is a crossover between Walker and Ten Inch Hero and it's one of my favorite crossover fics written in general and probably one of my favorite Walker fics.

This fic is a major AU that's largely removed from the show aside from the main character and a few others (Cordell even has a different brother) but I love every bit of it.

I love this question so I hope it’s okay to weigh in!

I think the answer is dependent on how you interpret the blue-eyes-thing working, so I want to start with that.

We get two versions of how it works. The first is from Peter, who offers a bit of poetry: “Taking an innocent life takes something from you as well: a bit of your soul. Darkening it, dimming the once brilliant golden yellow to a cold, steel blue.” (3x08).

People have taken that to mean that the act of murdering an innocent person is automatically manifested in your body. Somehow. Maybe magically.

Stiles, however, offers a different theory (“Strange Frequencies,” 5x07):

THEO: A werewolf's eyes are supposed to change color when you take an innocent life. Do these look blue to you? It was self-defense—for me and for you. STILES: Or maybe you just don't feel all that bad about it. You can't say one life is objectively less innocent than another one. What if they turn blue 'cause you feel guilty? THEO: So it's up to interpretation? STILES: Yeah, maybe.

Stiles is unwittingly dealing with a chimera, whose body doesn’t follow the same rules as a werewolf, but this theory has gotten a lot more traction with fandom because it’s about your understanding of the kill manifesting in your body. This interpretation doesn’t conflict with Peter’s phrasing, and offers a more concrete cause-and-effect: your body reflects your understanding of yourself, in the same way that, say, Jackson’s lack of identity causes him to become the kanima and Scott’s actions transform him into an Alpha. “The shape you take reflects the person that you are,” as Derek says (“Venomous,” 2x05).

The show also suggests that it’s not so much about whether you think the life you took is “innocent” or not, as whether you think the kill was just or not. Stiles hints at this above, but I think it’s clearest in Jiang and Tierney, who indiscriminately kill a group hunters, some of whom might have killed their pack (“Pressure Test,” 6x15):

SCOTT: Were they the ones that killed Satomi? Or Brett or Lori? Did you see them kill anyone? JIANG: Does it matter? SCOTT: It does matter. You can't kill innocent people. TIERNEY: They murdered our whole pack! You really think any of them are more innocent than us?

Scott’s definition of “innocent” is not whether the hunters were killers or not—he’s been around hunters long enough to know they almost certainly are—but whether they were the people who actually killed Jiang and Tierney’s pack. Jiang and Tierney’s defensive response suggests that, even if they don’t feel guilty for killing the hunters, they know it wasn’t right, and that’s what is reflected in their blue eyes.

This might sound like splitting hairs—many people feel guilty about a kill they know isn’t justified, e.g. Derek clearly feels a lot of guilt about Paige—but I think it has some bearing on your question.

The characters who are most relevant to when the blue-eyes rule starts applying are Jackson, Victoria Argent, and Alexander Argent (the guy who offs himself at the beginning of "Motel California," 3x06). Jackson's eyes turn blue once he becomes a werewolf, though he's been a supernatural creature for a while by that point. Both Alexander and Victoria, however, have yellow eyes when they turn, and it's incredibly unlikely that they hadn't taken innocent lives before they were bitten—Victoria is bitten in the middle of an attempted murder. 

If you go with the first theory (that the act of killing is manifested in you), then the show suggests that the count starts after you’re bitten. Jackson’s kills were all after he was bitten, and Victoria and Alexander’s yellow eyes would mean that pre-bite kills don’t count.

If you go with the second theory (that you manifest your understanding of the kill), then it’s less clear. Victoria and Alexander could potentially both think that their kills were justified, so their yellow eyes *could* reflect their pre-bite kills, but just that they feel they were righteous.

This post, that inspired me into making this post, shows Eddie with his arms crossed. Usually when uncomfortable, unsure, he's closed off as he talks to others.

He's facing them, but he keeps his arms crossed, like some sort of shield, detaching himself from the situation.

He seems unapproachable or defensive, but really from what I've glimpsed over the seasons, it's his way of protecting himself.

He does that with everyone except Buck.

And the one exception that it did happen with Buck was when they were at odds during the lawsuit/street fighting phase.

But that is the only time, and once they were past it, even that same conversation in 3x06, Eddie reverted back to easy openness he has with Buck.

The body language is very different when it comes to one Evan Buckley.

5x13 is the perfect example,

When Buck enters the room Eddie has his arms crossed, but it's not in protection of himself, it's out grief, sorrow, shame, it's a sort of a self hug.

But once Buck sits down, and start talking Eddie turns to him, his arms no longer crossed.

He's looking out in the direction of Christopher's door, but lets the hand covering how mouth down when he speaks to Buck and then makes an effort to meet his eyes.

Buck keeps Eddie talking, his questions are mostly directing ones.

Eddie responds to him, he has an assessing look, his fingers are interlaced, but it's mostly to help the thinking process, how much to say, how to say it.

He wants to tell Buck, but past experience keeps whispering that he might not be accepted after what he discloses.

That Buck would be disappointed in him or mad and leave. Even though he knows logically and historically speaking, that Buck will not leave him, he's still hesitant.

Because if he can't accept himself, if he feels so badly and disappointed in himself for not being able to save his friends from their fates, then how can Buck.

That look btw, threw me back to 2x02, where Eddie hesitates to tell Buck he has a son.

But Buck didn't disappoint then, and he didn't now either.

Eddie knows he can trust Buck, he opens up, "I pulled them out but I didn't save them." It's all said with a sense of failure, like Eddie somehow fell short.

This gives me a sense of confession, like Eddie confesses his greatest sin to the one person who can probably understand him better than anyone. The one person (besides Christopher) that matters the most to Eddie.

And then "That I'm never going to feel normal again."

That look kills me every time, for one because I saw it the mirror before, and second because that Is not something you say out loud to just anyone.

Eddie's open arms policy, when it comes to Buck, is shown here so clearly, his arms are not crossed, his expression is wide open, and tears are visible in red reamed eyes.

He looks terrified, and miserable and defeated and all of that in front of Buck. There's a plea here, 'tell me I'm wrong', 'help me fix this', 'am I going crazy?' And so many other things.

I've talked about Eddie being Buck's anchor before, and theorized that Buck is Eddie’s anchor according to S3a, but here in 5x13 it's clearer than ever that it's not only a theory, it's proven.

Because when Frank asked "what are you afraid of?" Eddie deflected, but when Buck asked so gently, literally pleading Eddie to share this burden, Eddie had no other option but to confide the truth.

One last thing that came to me as I was writing this post,

Buck watched, scared, as Eddie was bleeding out in the middle of the street and both maintained eye contact until Eddie lost consciousness.

This conversation in 5x13 felt a lot like that, Buck is still scared, and all he can do is sit and watch as Eddie is bleeding out, only this time it's emotionally.

This scene, it's so powerful, because everything that Eddie says, rings true to Buck one way or the other, because Buck pulled Eddie out, and he knew he wasn't completely okay, but it's only now that he's starting to realize that he is not done saving Eddie.

And knowing Buck, he will do everything in his power to ensure that Eddie is saved, whatever that may mean or take.

oh my godddd where do i start???? can i even pick 5????????? *Edit upon finishing writing: most of these ended up focusing on Eddie’s feelings towards Buck I feel??? and I definitely have Things to say about their reunion in 3x06 and the kitchen scene bc they’re also up there as my faves so I could possibly also do an alternative top 5 that’s more Buck caring about Eddie but anyway here you go!

5. 2x04 - Buck introduces Eddie to Carla

Honestly every single interaction between them in this ep is my favourite because Buck supports Eddie so much throughout the whole ep????? Taking him to the hospital, telling Maddie what a great dad he is, giving Bobby the heads up when Eddie has to bring Chris to the station, it's all So Good. Especially when you remember they're still only just becoming friends at this point. But Buck introducing him to Carla has to be the icing on the cake for me. It's just- we've seen how smothered Eddie has felt in the past when it comes to caring for Christopher, how his parents have continually tried to take over or make him feel like he's doing something wrong, and I just really, really love that Buck offers him this support and this magic fix but in a way that doesn't undermine Eddie as a parent at all??????? Like he helps him but not because he thinks Eddie can't handle it but because he thinks Eddie deserves a break and wants to make things easier for him. It's amazing and I loVE IT

4. 3x18 - His fiancée's AbBy

sakljdfhs okay look. Listen. I love this scene so much and I think only recently sort of understand why. It's the first time we really see Eddie lose his calm during an emergency and the first time we see him specifically lose his calm over Buck. Because Eddie clearly knows how to compartmentalise and because of that we generally only see him look worried but not really outwardly react when Buck is in danger. But this scene akjsdh he's so aNNOYED and frustrated and it's fascinating because you have to wonder how much he knows about Abby and who's told him what. But what we do know is he knows Abby broke his best friend's heart and he knows Buck is willing to sacrifice himself for anyone but no way in hell is Eddie about to let him become collateral damage for someone who doesn't deserve it (and now we know he'd already changed/or was changing his will during this time *screams*). And yeah it's fun to call it jealousy but ultimately I think it was a lot of worry and a lot of frustration on Eddie's part because it's a very clear example of Buck believing he's expendable and Eddie wanting to shout, "You're wrong!!!!". Just. What a good fucking scene.

3. 3x03 - There’s nobody in this world I trust with my son more than you

I mean how could I not include this scene?????? It’s just- everything. All of it. From Buck’s voiceover to photograph playing in the background to the way Eddie all but bulldozes his way through casual conversation in the hopes of not having to explain. It’s about the absolutely unconditional way Eddie forgives him, like it’s not even a question, and the way Buck is so clearly torn up and can’t understand why Eddie doesn’t toss him aside. I’ll never get over “A few choice words can be the life raft that gets you home” combined with “There is nobody in this world I trust with my son more than you.” And obviously we know just how true that is later on but in this scene, you can tell Buck hears him even if he can’t quite allow himself to believe it yet. And it’s so soft and so gentle and just another one of those examples that prove to us that Eddie always seems to know exactly what to say to Buck to bring him back to the surface :’)

2. 4x04 - The gym scene

Honestly if it wasn’t for the season 4 finale this would be my number one. How do I love this scene? Let me count the ways. Just sakdjhfa fuck!!!!! it’s the first time we’ve ever seen Buck angry and I know obviously Eddie’s his confidant but it’s so good to actually see Eddie being his confidant. To see that Eddie’s the one he wants to vent to and that Eddie’s the one he trusts with his anger and Eddie just remains such a calming presence in the face of it all????? From the gentle way he talks to the way his foot holds down the punching bag while Buck hits it - I am on the floor. And also!!!!!! Eddie just repeatedly validating Buck’s feelings - “What do you have to apologise for? If that’s how you feel - how they made you feel - then you have every right to say so.” askdjfhas I think it’s really important actually because Buck is always called out for thinking before he acts and yeah, obviously sometimes he should apologise but I really love that Eddie takes the time to make it clear this is different. That Buck didn’t do anything wrong and is allowed to be upset. Also Eddie stopping Buck from hitting the punching bag when Buck says “I just want to hit things” and saying “I’ve been down that road. I don’t recommend it” goodbye???????????? He cares about Buck so much let me be. 

1. 4x14 - You think you’re expendable...but you’re wrong

askdjfha is there anything I can say about this scene that hasn’t already been said?????? It’s stunning. It’s so beautiful and so significant and I will never recover. Eddie is someone who struggles so much to talk about his feelings but he’s the one who initiates the conversation because this is important to him. And I said this yesterday but it really is a declaration of love????? I’ve written before about how the scene sort of parallels/answers Buck’s “Love me anyway” plea but one thing I noticed when rewatching Buck Begins is that when Buck gets hurt Margaret yells at him and says “You think you’re indestructible but you’re not” and it’s such a contrast to Eddie saying “You think you’re expendable...but you’re wrong.” even though the two sentences are almost identical. I’ve talked a lot about how significant the word “expendable” is and that parallel sort of reinforced it for me because Margaret is chastising Buck. She’s admonishing him for being reckless with himself and his body and it’s inarguably tied to Daniel. Whereas Eddie uses the word expendable because he knows Buck’s recklessness comes from a place of not feeling wanted. So he tells him I want you and I love you and you can’t get hurt because me and Christopher need you and Buck hears him. And I mean, that’s not even getting into the wILL of it all???? Like, hello???????? but I’m gonna stop now because I’m rambling but aksjdfhsja honestly this scene has broken me beyond repair and I for one am so grateful

When I think of Gallagher sibling moments, this is the image that comes to mind:

So that's my favourite vibe. Gallaghers take on the world. And I do love this moment, when they head over to try and get Liam back from the guy holding him as human collateral.

I love this scene from the cursed 3x06 because it's such an early Shameless Gallagher kids moment. Lip and Ian are coming out of the group home to find an anxious Fiona. They discuss the situation and next steps. Lip and Ian hug Fiona. Frank asks where his hug is and... iconic.

I feel like Lip pretty much carrying Ian home from Mickey's wedding is underrated. But also: The Chin scene, the "fuck someone else" scene, the horrible (but great in its horribleness) "earned my space" scene and the deleted scene from 7x12. There's a lot of solid Lip/Ian content.

This is an A+ baby Liam moment, but in general I love Debbie and Carl in the wake of Ian's diagnosis. They both go with Lip and Mickey to pick Ian up. Debbie tries to lie to get Ian meds, and pushes Mickey to go see her brother. Carl tries to give Ian electro-shock. And then... this. Which is sweet, in its way.

I'm also kinda a sucker for every scene where Lip is kinda to Fiona. But I particularly relate to the ones like 4x12 where they sit down and commiserate about something awful that's just happened in the family. Those are the scenes that are the closest to my life and my own sibling dynamic.

Late season content! I truly love Debbie in 9x07, when she goes to find Fiona because Debbie is the only one who recognizes just how much of a red flag it is that Fiona didn't show up to say goodbye to Ian. I love that scene and the subsequent ones where Debbie takes it upon herself to solve all of Fiona's immediate problems.

And 10x12, which has much to recommend it but particularly has all the Gallaghers pulling together to get Mickey and Ian to the altar. MVP to Debbie who refuses to accept that the wedding's not going to happen, gets a dress and spends the entire ceremony wailing in the arms of a stranger so that her brother can marry his childhood sweetheart... who she once helped dispose of a body.

I 100% first turned this show on because of the sibling relationships. Some of my favourite content is when they're pulling together to solve a problem.

To all the antis who keep saying that "Hope doesn't love Landon because she didn't realize it was him" and who continues to think that they’re toxic to each other and so on………I have a question for you all, are y'all seriously that blind? Hope will ALWAYS love Landon. She ONLY wants Landon. The ONLY reason she didn't question if it was really Landon was because she went through so much without him and all she wanted was him. HE’S HER BLINDSPOT! It all circles back to 3x08. During that ENTIRE episode everyone kept saying blindspot. There was an importance to them saying blindspot. It wasn’t in there for no reason. Like I said LANDON IS HOPE’S BLINDSPOT. So the reason she didn't question if Landon was the real Landon was because she trusted that was really him. She didn’t want to think or to believe it wasn’t him.

Also Hope and Landon aren't toxic to each other. It's red herring. Now If you actually watch and listen to what’s said in the show then you would have already realized that. Malivore is making Landon and Hope think that they're toxic to each other. This goes all the way back to when Landon told Malivore about him and Hope in 3x04. Once Landon told Malivore about him and Hope, Malivore began to plot and scheme. Malivore knew that Hope was the ONE thing that could destroy him being that she is a tribrid. So he knew that he had to make Landon and Hope believe that she was also toxic to Landon. Being that Malivore possessed Landon and let Hope and Landon pass through the portal in 3x04, he still had some control over Landon. Malivore let Hope and Landon have their time together before he called Landon back to the PW (HOPE SLEPT WITH LANDON,NOT MALIVORE). After Hope and Landon slept together, Malivore decided to use this to his advantage and send Landon back to the PW which caused Landon to melt into mud. Being that this happens when Hope’s blood touches Malivore, he made Hope and Landon believe that she was toxic to Landon. The entire thing was planned out by Malivore. He has been working behind the scenes ever since 3x04.

Now if Hope and Landon were toxic to each other, Landon would've melted right away after him and Hope slept together. As we see in 3x12, wish Landon was made out of Malivore mud and when Hope’s blood touch him, he melted. (1) Landon isn’t made out of Malivore mud and (2) Landon and Hope cuddled for quite some time meaning THEY’RE NOT TOXIC TO EACH OTHER! As I said it all goes back to Malivore’s plan. He NEEDED Hope and Landon to think that they were toxic to each other for him to get what he wanted which was to use Landon’s body as a vessel. 

Also during 3x08, the dream Hope has of Landon is the real Landon trying to warn Hope about Malivore. Malivore had already possessed his body at some point after 3x06. That's why Landon looked worried and concerned when hugging Hope. He was looking out to see if he saw Malivore because he knew Malivore would try to stop him from telling Hope the truth.

During 3x13, Malivore was making sure he pushed Hope far away from Landon. He was purposely being distant from Hope because he needed Hope to BELIEVE that Landon didn’t want to be with her which leads to the Malivore making it seem like Landon was “breaking up” with Hope. Malivore knew that it would be a matter of time before Hope figured out that her and Landon weren’t toxic to each other. MALIVORE NEEDED HOPE AND LANDON SEPARATED FOR HIS PLAN TO STAY IN MOTION.

Finally, during 3x16, Malivore realized that Hope and Landon's love was the way to destroy him. That's where the prophecy "the greatest destroyer of all is love" comes in play. It’s a full circle. It has been Malivore’s plan ever since 3x04.

Now to circle back to the beginning of this post, it’s not that Hope doesn't love Landon or Landon doesn't love Hope or that they're toxic to each other, it's the fact that Malivore has been controlling everything since 3x04. And that Landon is Hope's blindspot.

There's plenty more to add but this is the ground basics of the whole situation. You just had to really think about everything that has happened and connect the dots to understand it a little.
