Are You Ready to Call Yourself a Nailpro Master?
READ MORE: https://www.blockdit.com/french_tip_nail_art
Are you creative? Would you consider yourself to be a master at your craft? Do you love the opportunity as a nail technician to come up with new designs on the spot? If you said yes to any of these questions, you are exactly who we are looking for.
READ MORE: https://issuu.com/french_tip_nail_art
The Nailpro Master Challenge is a nail competition like no other, where competitors do not know what products they are working with until they begin, pushing them to their creative limits. Returning to The Nailpro Nail Show on Sept. 8-9, 2024, The Nailpro Master Challenge is offering brand-new categories this year, including a new online challenge.
READ MORE: https://gab.com/Frenchtipnailart
The five challenges this year for the Nailpro Master Challenge are: 3D Nails, Black Tie Affair, Creative Chrome, Sculpted Shapes and Out Of This World Nails (Online). Many of these challenges were inspired by the theme for the 2024 Nailpro Nail Show, Next Gen Beauty. Competitors for each of these categories will be given a kit for their challenges that they cannot open until right before they start.
3D Nails
3D nail art has been trending in the nail community for years now, and we are seeing nail technicians come up with new, innovative 3D nail art every day. This challenge plays with texture, color and optics to bring nail designs into the future. Will competitors create seashells, bows, flowers, ripples, candy, sweater art or something else? Only their creativity will limit them! Competitors will have 40 minutes to complete a 3D design of their choosing on a set of five tips.
Black Tie Affair
Clients often visit their salons for a nail set for a special occasion. Is it their wedding, are they going to a gala or are they just looking for nails for a night out? The Black Tie Affair challenge brings this category to life using sparkle and neutrals to create sophisticated but dazzling nail art. Competitors will have 40 minutes to complete a manicure using neutrals, metallics, glitters and shimmer on one hand of a live model (Model will be provided by Nailpro).
Creative Chrome
Chrome is a popular request in the nail salon, but how often are nail techs challenged with being creative with their chrome? This challenge does just that, inspiring innovative nail techs to use chrome in fun and unique ways. Incorporate it into texture, do a chrome French or a chrome design. Their options are limitless. Competitors will have 40 minutes to do a design using chrome on a set of five tips.
Sculpted Shapes
Almond, stiletto, square, squoval–every client has their favorite nail shape. This challenge has nail technicians creating their favorite shape on one hand of a live model while under time pressure constraints. We can’t wait to see their skills take shape! Competitors will have 45 minutes to sculpt five nails on a live model with acrylic (Model will be provided by Nailpro).
Out of This World Nails (Virtual)
Brand new this year is our online category, out of this world nails. To bring this year’s show theme, Next Gen Beauty, to life, Nailpro is challenging nail techs to come up with their most creative universe/galaxy-inspired nail set. This is a virtual challenge, so competitors will submit photos and a video of five “out of this world” tips.
Get Creative
If you have considered entering a nail competition, but are looking for something different? This is it. Last year, we were amazed by the creativity we saw in the Nailpro Master Challenge, and we can't wait to see what competitors come up with this year! There are first, second and third place awards for each category, and winners will be announced live at the Nailpro Nail Show and streamed live on Nailpro's Instagram (@nailpromagazine). Winners will receive an award, a monetary prize and a feature in Nailpro magazine.

Unleashing Creativity with Foam Sheets: A Versatile Crafting Essential
If you're a craft enthusiast or someone looking to explore new creative avenues, foam sheets are likely to become your new best friend. These vibrant, versatile sheets of foam can be used in an array of projects, from simple DIY crafts to intricate artworks. Let's dive into the world of foam sheets and discover their endless possibilities.
What Are Foam Sheets?
Foam sheets are lightweight, flexible sheets made from ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) or polyurethane. They come in various colors, thicknesses, and sizes, making them an ideal material for both novice crafters and seasoned artists. The smooth, spongy texture of foam sheets is perfect for cutting, shaping, and adhering to different surfaces.
Why Use Foam Sheets?
Versatility: Foam sheets can be used for a wide range of projects, including home decor, children's crafts, costumes, and more.
Ease of Use: They are easy to cut, glue, and paint, making them accessible for all age groups.
Durability: Foam sheets are durable and can withstand wear and tear, making your projects long-lasting.
Safety: Unlike some crafting materials, foam sheets are non-toxic and safe for children.
Creative Ideas with Foam Sheets
Home Decor
Wall Art: Create stunning wall art by cutting foam sheets into various shapes and designs. You can layer different colors to add depth and dimension.
Photo Frames: Customize plain photo frames with foam sheet embellishments. Add flowers, geometric shapes, or even a name for a personal touch.
Coasters: Design unique coasters to protect your surfaces. You can cut out patterns, paint them, or even use stamps for decoration.
Kids' Crafts
Educational Tools: Make learning fun by creating foam sheet alphabet letters, numbers, and shapes. These can be used for teaching spelling, math, and geometry.
Animal Masks: Cut out animal shapes and use them as masks for imaginative play. Add elastic bands or strings to fit around the head.
Puppets: Craft finger puppets or hand puppets using foam sheets. Decorate them with googly eyes, yarn for hair, and fabric scraps for clothes.
Holiday Decorations
Christmas Ornaments: Create festive ornaments by cutting foam sheets into stars, snowflakes, or other holiday shapes. Decorate with glitter, paint, and ribbons.
Easter Eggs: Design colorful Easter eggs to hang around the house. Use foam sheets to add 3D elements to your decorations.
Halloween Props: Make spooky decorations like bats, pumpkins, and ghosts. Foam sheets are easy to cut into detailed shapes, making them perfect for intricate designs.
Fashion and Accessories
Jewelry: Design lightweight earrings, necklaces, and bracelets using foam sheets. Cut out your desired shapes and decorate with paint or markers.
Hair Accessories: Create custom headbands, clips, and hair ties. Foam sheets can be cut into flowers, bows, and other fun shapes to adorn your hair.
Costumes: Whether for Halloween or a themed party, foam sheets can help you create impressive costume pieces, such as armor, crowns, and wings.
Tips for Working with Foam Sheets
Cutting: Use sharp scissors or a craft knife for clean edges. For intricate designs, consider using a stencil.
Gluing: Hot glue works well for foam sheets, but you can also use craft glue or double-sided tape for less demanding projects.
Painting: Acrylic paints adhere well to foam sheets. Use thin layers and allow each to dry before applying the next to avoid sogginess.
Storage: Keep your foam sheets flat in a cool, dry place to prevent warping or damage.
Conclusion
Foam sheets are an incredible resource for crafters of all ages and skill levels. Their flexibility, durability, and ease of use open up a world of creative possibilities. Whether you're looking to make simple crafts with your children, decorate your home, or design unique accessories, foam sheets are a fantastic choice. So, grab some foam sheets and start crafting your next masterpiece today!

“I officially finished a Doctor Who fully-functioning wall art clock. Bow before my awesomeness.”
-Me (pictures to follow because I am a nerd and want to share my nerdiness)
The art style used was acrylic paint on 4”x4” canvas. The clock part was made from a disassembled silent ticker bought on the cheap from a Meijer’s, a Tupperware to house the battery box, and core board cut out using an Exacto and superglued to the Tupperware to create a 3D object.
I’m very proud. Took me roughly six months to make this. Been a long time coming.

02/13/22 3D Art: Assemblage Project
Artist’s Statement
When I first approached this assignment before the final instructions were given I was very enthusiastic because I had a lot of ideas and narratives that I wanted to incorporate into my art. When I realized that I had to use nonrepresentational objects and a nonobjective approach, I was challenged yet excited because I was forced to think outside of the box in terms of always feeling like I have to tell a story. This approach led me to pay more attention to the shapes of objects and how together based on weight distribution/composition could create a dynamic of the objects that feed off of each other’s placements or shapes/3d forms. I am very used to the idea of only focusing on what the end product of the art piece that I’m making will look like and then getting discouraged when I realized that it doesn’t look like how I wanted it to in my head. The nonobjective approach in art prevents that issue from happening when I create an artwork like this, especially an assemblage piece. I would say that I am happier with the result of the symmetrical piece because I prefer uniformity and neatness over the disproportion of the asymmetrical piece. Taste-wise, my preference is why I gravitate more towards a Joseph Cornell piece than I do to a Kurt Schwitters piece. I’d like to attempt the asymmetrical piece with different less organic objects in the near future to further challenge myself because I have a harder time understanding asymmetry in art and realizing that asymmetry may not always mean having to put objects in random places in the composition of the art piece. Overall I enjoyed the process of making these pieces and I’d like to incorporate assemblage style pieces into my portfolio to add more variety to the type of art that I’d like to make rather than just always sticking to painting and drawing.
Several of the objects that I used I actually made while others I found around my house or my neighborhood. I used objects that were aesthetically pleasing to me but also had distinct shapes and forms. I used broken cement triangle chips from a small construction site around my house. It was a challenge to use this because it was quite heavy and it would not hold onto the glue very well but I was attracted to the uneven qualities of the triangle shape of the cement chip. Mixed with my other objects from the asymmetrical assemblage piece, the triangle cement chips fit uniquely well into the other objects that I have made. I wanted to use an old wire charger but it was not holding up well to the glue and I wanted something with more form to it, so I wrapped the wire charger cable with aluminum foil and then drenched it in hot glue gun glue so that a different type of texture would be included into this piece when I spray painted over that wire charger cable wrapped in aluminum foil and hot glue. I also used circular objects to distribute the weight around unevenly so that it would be asymmetrical. For the symmetrical piece, I used objects that were more commonly found in my household but some that were also very dear to me. I used an old keychain and a fake designer necklace. I also used a knife and a set of press-on acrylic nails because such uniformity would contribute to the symmetry and even distribution of weight between the objects within the piece. The bows both on each side and the elf ears on each side also contributed to the symmetry as well. I incorporated bits of the wire charger cable wrapped in aluminum foil and hot glue in this piece as well to unite both the asymmetrical and symmetrical pieces together. I used a cardboard box and to cover the edges of the box I covered the edges with fake leaves/fake flowers while also painting both boxes white to bring unity to the two different pieces.

“Assiette ou Virage et Dérapage”
Text by Natalya Serkova
If Thumbelina had to travel not on the back of the swallow but by a motorcycle, she would have hardly managed to keep her wedding dress and her tiny bows unrumpled. It is not only that riding a bike requires special gear: a helmet, gloves or a leather jacket. More than that, unlike immersion into a comfortable womb of a car or a swallow’s soft feathers, riding a motorcycle requires an equal complicity in the breakneck ride on the part of the traveller. A motorcycle is an example of a perfect hybrid of a human and a vehicle. Once astride a motorcycle, riders not only partake of the speed and the slaps of the head wind, slaps of dust, of sounds or of the ground, but they also have to fully merge with the motorcycle, to repeat its curves with the curves of their own bodies. The more complete this conjunction between the body and the vehicle, the better the riders can steer and control it, the more stable and well balanced their position is on the saddle. Those who seek to achieve an effective contact with this mechanism made of metal, rubber and leather have to become the extension of it, an outgrowth on its mechanical body that enables it to wake up and come into action.
Such an amalgamation does not mean that the vehicle engulfs its “second engine”, its human outgrowth. Just like the intestines of the motorcycle that are exposed, pulled inside out, the motorcycle itself always seeks to expand outward. It does not devour, but, with the help of powerful sounds, high speed and the sparks from its wheels at steep turns, works to expand whatever accompanies it in its movement. Everything that comes clear of the ground and is ready to follow the motorbike’s metal curves, turns into a shining, a gas, a rumble. A motorcycle continuously multiplies itself in all this shining and noise, capable of taking on new parts that are willing to be absorbed and expanding itself to an unknown extent. But given this expansion, does the motorcycle remain what it used to be before? Or does it become a bleak reflection of its former self shimmering with its smooth, cool intestines and turning all the new parts into a semblance of itself? Every brand new thumb, every human or non-human outgrowth forces the entire motorcycle system, not just the wheels alone, into constant motion. The mutation can escalate to such an extent as to make it impossible to tell whether it is a parasitic outgrowth, hiding among the parts of the vehicle, or a vehicle that has become a parasitic virus of a weird shape that eludes the logic of functional driving.
It has become impossible to separate the parts from their bearer, because the bearer is now little more than a sum total of its constituent parts assembled in a somewhat random manner. The infinite expansion and annexation of yet more parts prompts an incessant renewal of the entire body. We are no longer sure which point in time and space we should select in order to be able to give a proper name to whatever it is that we are facing. If the motorcycle is a parasitic virus that is revived by every contact with a creature such as a human being, it means that it is hardwired—they way all viruses are—not only to mutate, but also to deftly elude the eyes of strangers. This is exactly why in contrast to a car, a motorcycle is naked: you do not have to hide or tear the surface membrane that is simply not there. Yet at the same time, its shiny, sleek, smooth, glossy surfaces are meant to distract anyone who manages to catch a glimpse of them. Will the multiplication of these surfaces and of their shine turn into the multiplication of their deceptions? Or, taken to extremes, thus will detonate the logic of the vehicle from within, unleashing the powers previously hidden inside? Thumbelina landing happily on her swallow next to an elvish prince notices a brand new bike behind his back.
Nomadic, fulfilling disposition of non-familiar shapes: Assiette ou Virage et Dérapage
Inspired by the documentation modality used to describe an art work through its details, "Assiette ou Virage et Dérapage" is a project anchored to the idea that the Minor Circumstance of such images often exhibits the most material and fulfilling aspect of the object, letting visual pleasure have the best on the imaginary / imaginative concept of the artwork. Obliged to relate to a restricted space, cynically sensual already, seven artists dialogued with the exhibition space cannibalizing an aesthetic that we all know and which we has been influenced and sometimes distracted in these years. The hateful, common, coarse, and deplorable mistakes that inspired this project are essentially two: How does an installation view reveal of the project, the curatorial thought, and the gallerist ambitions? And how often does it only show the depressing interior designer ability of the curator and the proud complacency of rampant estate owner? And when it comes to the artist: sure to choose from the dozens of photos of details the one that can best express the concept of the work, he is instead distracted as a child by the twinkle of a chromed metal, excited by the curve of a a form that reminds us some car advertising . The art works are the center of any topic that interests art, but they are often misunderstood and then chosen for the most simplistic and approximate reasons. The operation is simple and mocking. The viewer is made responsible. Will he stop on a superficial and consolatory reading? Let him. Everything is in order and prepared for this to happen, because he does not bother too much and convinces himself that everything is fine. Perhaps he would prefer to feel cuddled by those images he recognizes and loves. That he needs. Satisfying and feticist images.
Dangerous double curve, the first to the left.

✨🌺When the Holy Mother Mary weeps🌺✨ 50x60-2 cm, acrylic on canvas, abstract portrait original and digital copy for sale (DM) In this artwork I used gold, red and white acrylic paint, a dull tulle, felt for her hair and dried herbs and seeds for the other forms..I randomly sprinkled the dried herbs and seeds on the canvas I painted before. Then I fixed all the thick 3D materials with the tulle and acrylic paint. And then I painted how I felt. In this moment I saw with the bowed head, with the bloody heart the sad holy mother Mary on this canvas. This painting is very sad with this bloody tear and with the very light moving hair in the wind. -------------------------------------------------------------- 💌 www.sedacalhan.blogspot.com 💌 sedacalhanart.tumblr.com 💌 www.pinterest.at/sedacalhanart 💌 www.etsy.com/de/shop/sedacalhanart 💗www.saatchiart.com/artwavecollector 💗www.kunst-online.com/collections/seda-calhan ----------------------------------------------------------------- #sedacalhan #architect #sedaartworks #myartworks #etsy #art #artist #artwork #artoftheday #artofvisual #artgallery #artlovers #artstagram #artworks #artcollector #artforsale #artistsoninstagram #artphotography #follow4followback #followme #austria #vienna #abstractart #canvas #saatchiart #acrylic #acrylicpainting #abstractportrait #kunst #holymary https://www.instagram.com/p/CDlsGQAAPgO/?igshid=1awvlqv1ncjam
