Hoy os traigo una manicura permanente, duradera y de aplicación simple, la dip powder nails.

No es ningún secreto que las uñas de gel y la manicura semipermanente están en auge, porque llevarlas tiene como beneficio olvidarse de arreglarse y esmaltarse las uñas por varios días o incluso semanas. Sin embargo, las dip powder nails son una propuesta muy interesante que no puedes dejar de probar.

Esta tendencia, como su nombre indica, se construye a través de la inmersión de la uña en un polvo específico, que dará lugar a la uña permanente.

Sigue estos tips y serás la reina de esta tendencia.

Como siempre os recomiendo primero asegúrate de tener las manos limpias, las uñas limadas y quitar las cutículas. Luego aplica una base adhesiva a la que se pegará el polvo acrílico,  tratando de sumergir la uña en este polvo antes de que se seque la base. Lo ideal es hacer esta inmersión justo después de aplicar la base de uña, repite unas dos o tres veces. Procura evitar que queden restos de producto, para ello ayúdate con un pincel o cepillo para retirar el excedente. 

Para un acabado pro aplica un esmalte activador que te aportará brillo y protegerá el resultado del polvo para las uñas.

Las dip powder nails cuentan con la gran ventaja de no necesitar lámpara para su secado y fijación, sino que lo harán al aire.

Si eres un poco manitas esta manicura la puedes hacer tú misma.

  En cuanto a la duración esta manicura es algo mayor que las uñas de gel, ya que en general se ven perfectas al menos cuatro semanas.  

Sin embargo, si hay que poner una pega, cabe mencionar que las dip powder tienen el inconveniente que es más trabajoso eliminar por completo el polvo de las uñas.

Para eliminar esta manicura se debe limar la superficie de la uña y después envolver cada uña en acetona pura hasta que se disuelve la uña artificial.

Te aconsejo que para el caso de limar la uña acudas a un profesional, ya que puedes dañar la superficie de la misma.

Well aren’t I just shit at this 😅

It’s been almost two months since my first post but I thought I’d come back to tell absolutely no one about my latest endeavours to having nice nails again after becoming allergic to gel products.

I started doing dip powder nails and using a gel top coat that was free of HEMA as I suspected that was the ingredient I was reacting to. Well I have been using it for about 6 weeks and I have had absolutely no reactions, yay!

I did remove them last night just to give my nails a little break from the acrylic and used some gel polish to offer at least some protection to my natural nails. Surprisingly though, I did use a gel colour that contained HEMA, because I like living on the edge apparently, and somehow I have still not reacted 24 hours later. Maybe it isn’t the HEMA? Maybe it’s because I was extra careful and used a base coat while ensuring I didn’t get any on my skin? Who knows but I’m relieved while also feeling like I’m not 100% sure what it is I’m allergic to.

Keeping away from HEMA as much as possible has been helping though so when I have some extra funds at my disposal I will be getting some more HEMA-free colours and maybe a builder gel for added strength and protection so I can continue to grow out my natural nails since that’s what I ultimately prefer. I’ll try to update this a little sooner next time but until then, enjoy 2 pictures of one of my reactions and a picture of my dip nails to give you an idea of what good and not good looks like on me.
