hu tao's dinner party is the FUNNIEST fucking thing she really went "how can i get the oddest array of people to have dinner with me while being as normal as possible about it" and then proceeded to invite her coworker at a funeral parlor, the town chef, the local exorciser and his boyfriend best friend, a strange traveler who showed up a while ago and hasn't left since but has resolved conflicts, and xiao the conquerer of demons who hasn't had this much social interaction in like 2000 years

and then this bard from like a thousand miles away in a different nation suddenly shows up and spouts some poetry like that's his invitation to stay
