Second person neopronouns, abbreviated as 2ndp/Spn neopronouns, are pronouns used in place of you/yours.

Examples:

-thou/thee/thy/thine/thyself (archaic)

-ye/you/your/yours/yourselves (archaic plural)

-vow/vor/vors/vorself

-vwoo/vwoor/vwoors/vwoorself

-you/your/yours/yourselves (plural)

-you&/your&/yours&/yourself& (semi-plural)

-pronouns that combine I/me and you/your for plural people

-ye/yer/yers/yerself

-u/ur/urs/urself

-yx/yxr/yxrs/yxrself

-gen/genser/gensers/genserself

-ya/yar/yars/yaself

-you/yours but with typing quirk variations: for example y0u/y0ur/y0urs/y0urself or you/your/yourz/yourzelf

-the 2nd person pronouns shown on this list

There could also be emoji/pictopronouns in the second person, which I recommend using in the format of [x]/[x]r/[x]rs/[x]rself to differentiate them from 3rd person neopronouns (which mostly use [x]/[x]s/[x]self format). For example ☆/☆r/☆rs/☆rself. But you can use whatever format you want as long as you specify that they're in the 2nd person.

There could also be 2nd person xenopronouns.

I’ve seen 1stp neopronouns around but no official coining post for a second person version so here’s one. I am not the first person to come up with this, but as far as I know I am the first to make a flag for it!

I've also made flags for thou/thee, ye/you, vow/vor, vwoo/vwoor, you/yourselves, you&/your&, ye/yer, yx/yxr, gen/genser, ya/yar, you/yourz, and 🌸/🌸r pronouns which I will be posting soon hopefully.

My template for 2ndp neopronoun flags is under the cut if anyone wants to use it.

I don’t use photoshop/canva/etc so you can’t really tell in the template but the thin dark gray stripes around the middle are the same color as the middle stripe (black) just set to 35% opacity. I like the overlay it gives the other stripes but it’s really not necessary.

Make whatever stripes you want darker or lighter, use a gradient or don’t, there is no pattern! I just think 2ndp neos are cool and I hope more people coin them.

[Possibly] Helpful Points for those using 1stp / 2ndp neos

If you're not sure whether to use singular (eg is / was) or plural (eg are / were) verbs, try saying it aloud! It's usually best to go with whichever sounds right!

Or you could think of it this way, instead:

1stp neos

If the pronouns sound similar to I/me/my/mine/myself , or are based off a noun, it's typically best to use singular verbs!*

Examples: Ae/aem/aey/aen/aeself ;; Vi/ve/vy/vene/vyself ;; Ki/kit/kitty/kine/kittyself ;; Rat/rat/rats/rats/ratself

If they sound more like we/us/our/ours/ourselves(or ourself), or the reflexive pronoun ends with -selves, then plural verbs are the way to go!

Examples: ;; Wei/muis/muir/muirs/muirselves

* - if your 1stp neos sound similar to I/me/my but you specifically use them in a plural way, then use plural verbs! They're your pronouns after all, you can do what you want!

2ndp neos

Because they're used in place of you/you/your/(etc), which always use plural verbs even when singular, it makes sense that Second person neos generally follow the same rule!

For example: [singular] You are a good person! ;; [plural] You are good people!

It helps that many 2ndp neos sound similar to you/your, but not all!

Examples: No/no/nov/novas/novaself - "No are a good person!" (It may sound a bit funny just reading it, but imagine you're saying it directly to someone!)

The exception to this rule is nameself 2ndp pronouns! Unless specified to be plural, single verbs are used!

Examples: Horizon nameself pronouns - "Horizon is a lovely being!"

Anywho,, hope this can help someone out there! My school was quite strict when it came to grammar, so this shall be etched [metaphorically] into my brain for many years to come xD /lh

2nd person pronouns are pronouns in the second person, such as you/your. 2nd person neos are similar to 3rd person neos, just in second person

for example; you/your is used like this:

you went to the store by yourself, but you accidentally took your sibling’s wallet with you. you still got everything you wanted, though, because you told the cashier the wallet was yours.

then a set like hou/hour would be used like this:

hou went to the store by hourself, but hou accidentally took hour sibling’s wallet with hou. hou still got everything hou wanted, though, because hou told the cashier the wallet was hours.
